High-frequency electromagnetic fields refer to electromagnetic waves with frequencies ranging from 100 kHz to 300 MHz. High-frequency medium heating has the advantages of uniform heating, rapid energy consumption, and environmental protection. While it has a wide range of applications, the use of high-frequency dielectric heating in the bamboo industry is rare. Understanding the influence of bamboo temperature rise rate in high-frequency heating could promote bamboo industry development. In this work, curved bamboo was tested with high-temperature energy for continuous heating. The influence of moisture content of bamboo, sample thickness, and high-frequency processing power on temperature rise rate were studied. The results showed that the water content of bamboo affected the temperature rise rate. The effect of high-frequency heating was highest when the moisture content of bamboo was close to 11%. The thickness of sample had little effect on the temperature rise rate, but the high-frequency power had a significant effect on the temperature rise rate. The temperature rise rate of the lower and higher frequency power levels increased slowly and was close to constant. The heating power was 11 kW, and the temperature rise rate was the highest.

The development direction of future architectural design should be in line with environmental protection, green and energy conservation, so as to meet people's sustainable development needs. The promotion of green building technology needs to involve multi-level and multi-disciplinary knowledge and social factors. Through a large number of green building projects, we can know that its ecological landscape not only has artistic value, but also can reflect obvious ecological value. An important concept in the concept of sustainable development is the green building landscape. Based on this background, this paper introduces artificial intelligence algorithm and designs a visual system around the concept of landscape space environment design. This system can be operated in two different forms, in offline application, image training is mainly carried out on the server side; In the online stage, the collected images are uploaded to the server using the Android platform, and the server side performs a series of operations such as image target detection, and then uses the Android mobile terminal to display the virtual reality fusion scene. The system test shows that the green building environment visualization system can not only make full use of the idle time of the cable drainage reader, but also will not affect the search operation in the next stage. The average delay is reduced by 16%, which proves the practicability of the software. In this paper, artificial intelligence algorithm is introduced into the field of green landscape space environment design, and an effective visualization system is constructed.

Objective. The treatment of choledocholithiasis with duodenal stenosis is a clinical difficult problem. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of ERCP via gastroscopy in the treatment of choledocholithiasis and duodenal stenosis. Methods. From January 2015 to December 2020, 21 patients with choledocholithiasis with duodenal stenosis who underwent ERCP treatment under gastroscopy in our hospital were enrolled. The patients’ case characteristics, ERCP status, and complication rate were analyzed. Results. Among the 21 patients, 17 cases were successful in ERCP, and a total of 29 times ERCPs were performed, with an average of 1.71 times per patient. Among the failures of ERCP, selective deep intubation of common bile duct was unsuccessful in 4 cases. Six patients underwent multiple lithotomies, after the operation, of which 4 patients underwent secondary ERCP lithotomy and 2 patients underwent triple ERCP lithotomy. All patients successfully completed the balloon dilation without serious complications. Two patients developed mild acute pancreatitis after ERCP, and all recovered after medication. Conclusion. In patients with choledocholithiasis and duodenal stenosis, ERCP treatment by gastroscopy has a higher success rate and does not increase the incidence of complications, but there is a problem of cholecystolithiasis recurrence.

Herein, inorganic silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanoparticles are deposited on the surface of continuous basalt fibers (CBFs) to enhance the interfacial interactions between CBFs and epoxy matrix (EP) and the tensile strength of composites. According to results from scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, the surface morphology of CBFs changes from smooth to rough with the increase of SiO2 deposition content. The rough surface plays a role of chock to make CBFs implant into the EP better, offering strong mechanical engagement effect to the interface between CBFs and EP. Therefore, the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) between CBFs and EP and the tensile strength of composites both increase. However, depositing excessive SiO2 nanoparticles also brings some porous structures on CBFs surface, becoming defects and stress concentration points to weaken the IFSS and the tensile strength of composites. Finally, a comparison between grafting organic aliphatic chains and depositing inorganic rigid nanoparticles about their effects on the surface roughness of modified CBFs and the interfacial interactions between modified fibers and matrix is carried out to clarify the reinforcing mechanisms of interfacial adhesion and the tensile strength of composites.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most dangerous types of cancer today, notable for its low survival rate and fibrosis. Deciphering the cellular composition and intercellular interactions in the tumor microenvironment (TME) is a necessary prerequisite to combat pancreatic cancer with precision. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), as major producers of extracellular matrix (ECM), play a key role in tumor progression. CAFs display significant heterogeneity and perform different roles in tumor progression. Tumor cells turn CAFs into their slaves by inducing their metabolic dysregulation, exacerbating fibrosis to acquire drug resistance and immune evasion. This article reviews the impact of metabolic reprogramming, effect of obesity and cellular crosstalk of CAFs and tumor cells on fibrosis and describes relevant therapies targeting the metabolic reprogramming.

The direction-of-arrival (DOA) tracking of underwater targets is an important research topic in sonar signal processing. Considering that the underwater DOA tracking is a typical multi-target problem under unknown underwater environment with missing detection, false alarm, and uncertain measurement noise, a robust underwater multi-target DOA tracking method for uncertain measurement noise is proposed. First, a kinematic model of the multiple underwater targets and bearing angle measurement model with missing detection and false alarms are established. Then, the multi-target DOA tracking algorithm is derived by using the cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CPHD) filter, the performance of which largely depends on the accuracy of the parameter of measurement noise variance. In addition, the variational Bayesian approach is used to adaptively estimate the uncertain measurement of noise variance for each measurement of target in the real time of tracking. Thus, the robust underwater multi-target DOA tracking is carried out. Finally, comprehensive experimental validations and discussions are made to prove that the proposed algorithm can provide robust DOA tracking in the multi-target tracking scenario with uncertain measurement noise.

Increasing reports demonstrate that long noncoding RNAs participate in the regulation of numerous malignancies, cervical cancer included. Although lncRNA LOXL1 antisense RNA 1 has been commonly accepted to be an oncogene in many cancers. Here, the role of LOXL1-AS1 in CC still need to be explored. In this study, LOXL1-AS1 was found elevated in CC tissues and cells. LOXL1-AS1 depletion restrained CC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis in vivo. Furthermore, we found that LOXL1-AS1 upregulated Lysophospholipase 1 expression via sequestering miR-526b-5p. Rescue assays revealed that overexpression of LYPLA1 reversed the LOXL1-AS1 silencing-induced inhibitory effects on the malignant phenotypes of CC cells. To conclude, this study showed that LOXL1-AS1 facilitates cellular process in CC via functioning as a miR-526b-5p sponge.

Objectives To investigate whether intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) with alteplase (a recombinant tissue plasminogen activator, rt-PA) before endovascular treatment (EVT) is beneficial for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients in different periods. Methods This study enrolled a total of 140 patients hospitalized between 2019 and 2022 with AIS from large vessel occlusion (LVO) in the anterior circulation. Those patients were divided into the EVT alone group and IVT + EVT group, in which EVT was preceded by intravenous rt-PA. According to the time from onset to femoral artery puncture, the above two groups were divided into the following subgroups: Results There was no statistically significant difference in functional independence, recanalization rate, favorable outcome rate, or mortality between the EVT and IVT + EVT groups (P > 0.05). After adjusting for confounding factors, a lower incidence of intracerebral hemorrhage was observed in the EVT group (P P = 0.01) or 7 days (P = 0.02). Conclusions Although there was no difference in clinical efficacy and safety between the abovementioned two groups, treatment with IVT + EVT could increase the risk of bleeding compared to EVT. Moreover, in the 6–8 h subgroup, the efficacy of EVT alone was better than that of IVT + EVT.

This paper studies the electro-hydraulic proportional position control system of a hydraulic rock drilling jumbo. First of all, the composition of the system is introduced and the transfer function of the system components is established, and the mathematical model of the whole system is finally obtained through calculation and simplification. Then, the PID and the fuzzy PID control strategy were designed by MATLAB software, and the system model was built in simulink. Finally, the results indicate that the fuzzy PID controller has better anti-interference ability, and the response speed is more advantageous than that of PID.

IntroductionIn underwater acoustic applications, the three-dimensional sound speed distribution has a significant impact on signal propagation. However, the traditional sound speed profile (SSP) measurement method requires a lot of manpower and time, and it is difficult to popularize. Satellite remote sensing can collect information on a large ocean surface area, from which the underwater information can be derived.MethodIn this paper, we propose a method for reconstructing the SSP based on an extensible end-to-end tree boosting (XGBoost) model. Combined with satellite remote sensing data and Argo profile data, it extracts the characteristic matrix of the SSP and analyzes the contribution rate of each order matrix to reduce the introduction of noise. The model inverts the SSP above 1000 m in the South China Sea by using the root mean square error (RMSE) as the precision evaluation index.ResultThe results showed that the XGBoost model could better reconstruct the SSP above 1000 m, with a RMSE of 1.75 m/s. Compared with the single empirical orthogonal function regression (sEOF-r) model of the linear regression method, the RMSE of the XGBoost model was reduced by 0.59 m/s.DiscussionFor this model, the RMSE of the inversion results was smaller, the robustness was better, and the regression performance was superior to that of the sEOF-r model at different depths. This study provided an efficient tree boosting model for SSP reconstruction, which could reliably and instantaneously monitor the 3D sound speed distribution.

Single-receiver motion parameter estimation is an effective and economical technology for passive source localization and train-bearing fault diagnosis, in which time-consuming time-frequency analysis (TFA) methods are widely used to suppress noise when extracting the continuous Doppler shift of the overhead pass. Cross-spectrum processing is a potential way to improve the computational efficiency of TFA methods, but its application is overshadowed by the phenomena of unknown Doppler shift offset and power spectrum estimation error. In this paper, conventional cross-spectrum processing is proven to be an approximation trick for power spectrum estimation in a small frequency interval, and the two phenomena are fully explained by the frequency aliasing of bandpass sampling and the approximation error. On this basis, an revised framework for applying the cross-spectrum processing is provided. Processing results of the SWellEx-96 experiment data demonstrate that the computational efficiencies of spectrogram and a parameterized TFA method could be improved up to 85% and 88.2%, respectively, without a noticeable impact on the accuracy of parameter estimates.

This study mainly focuses on the risk assessment of public–private partnership (PPP) projects. Evaluating the risks of PPP projects precisely is critical to their successful implementation. However, the traditional approaches often lack mechanisms in manipulating imprecise and vague information, and they need auxiliary information or pre-assumptions (e.g., preset fuzzy membership functions). To solve this problem, an integrated method for evaluating risks in public–private partnership projects is proposed. This method is based on the strength of the group analytic hierarchy process (GAHP), rough set theory, and cloud model theory. The proposed approach integrates the strength of rough set theory in coping with vagueness of the information from experts’ assessments without much pre-assumptions, the advantage of cloud model theory in investigating the randomness of experts’ judgments, and the merit of the AHP method in evaluation under multiple criteria and complex situation. Finally, an application in a PPP project in Wuhu, China, is provided to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. The proposed approach is effective in modeling hierarchy assessment as well as dealing with vagueness and randomness, and it can help managers to make reasonable and effective decisions in risk management.

This Letter provides an advanced time-frequency analysis method for quickly and precisely estimating dispersion curves of low-frequency impulsive sounds propagated in shallow water. First, the modal chirplet transform is derived based on an approximated variation law of the modal instantaneous frequency, which can omit the modal filtering step of warping-based methods. Then an extension modal chirplet transform (EMCT) is developed to further improve its potential for automation, together with a trick for fast computation. EMCT is applied to a recorded signal to demonstrate that the method can achieve high time-frequency concentration for modal components in a significantly decreased run time.

Cervical cancer (CC), as a serious menace to the health of women, has long been one of the most lethal gynecologic neoplasms throughout the world. Long non-coding RNA (LncRNA)This study aimed to explore the function and molecular mechanism ofThe expression levels of NR2F1-AS1, miR-642a-3p, NR2F1 in CC tissues, and cell lines were examined by reverse transcription real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Cell viability, proliferation, migration, and invasion were detected by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide, colony formation and Transwell assays. The protein levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers and NR2F1 in CC cells were assessed by Western blot analysis. The correlations among NR2F1-AS1, miR-642a-3p, and NR2F1 were estimated through luciferase reporter and RNA immunoprecipitation assays.These findings revealed that NR2F1-AS1 played a tumor suppressor role in CC by mediating the miR-642a-3p/NR2F1 axis.

Sclareol, a diterpene alcohol isolated from the herbal and flavor plant clary sage (Salvia sclarea L.), is far-famed as the predominant ingredient in the refined oil of Salvia sclarea (L.). The empirical medicine of Salvia sclarea L. focused on various diseases, such as arthritis, oral inflammation, digestive system diseases, whereas the sclareol possessed more extensive and characteristic bioactivities, including anti-tumor, anti-inflammation and anti-pathogenic microbes, even anti-diabetes and hypertension. However, there is a deficiency of literature to integrate and illuminate the pharmacological attributes of sclareol based on well-documented investigations. Interestingly, sclareol has been recently considered as the potential candidate against COVID-19 and Parkinson’s disease. Accordingly, the bioactive attributes of sclareol in cancer, inflammation, even pharmacochemistry and delivery systems are reviewed for comprehensively dissecting its potential application in medicine.

This study aimed to study miR-145’s correlation with Th1/Th2 in premature rupture of fetal membranes (pPROM) with nanogold-related PCR. Sixty pregnant women with pPROM between January 2019 to December 2019 were selected as the treatment group, and another sixty healthy pregnant women at the stage were chosen as the control group. Blood samples were collected for the quantification of miR-145 and the Th1/Th2 ratio. The result showed that nanoPCR could detect miR-145 with higher sensitivity and specificity. Then, nanoPCR detected a decreased miR-145 in pPROM pregnant women. Immunofluorescence staining and flow cytometry data presented a higher Th1/Th2 ratio in pPROM pregnant women. Western blotting showed the Th1/Th2 ratio increased significantly in pPROM pregnant women; also, the IFN-γ and IL-2 secreted by Th1 increased at the same time. On the other hand, the IL-4 and IL-6 secreted by Th2 were reduced, consistent with the change in Th2’s pattern in number reduction. A significant negative correlation was shown between Th1, Th1/Th2, and miR-145, and a positive correlation was shown between Th2 and miR-145. In conclusion, we propose thatin pPROM pregnant women, the decrease in miR-145 induces Th1 proliferation and Th2 reduction, causing relative cytokines to change and the immune system to lose imbalance. As more infections occur, and pPROM occurred as a result of fetal membrane fragility.

The energy surplus caused by the alternating current (AC) system’s failure results in a severe overvoltage problem in Bai hetan-Jiangsu ±800 kV hybrid cascade direct current (DC) project. However, the insulated gate bipolar transistor’s (IGBT) off-state voltage is the crucial reason for the insufficient voltage capacity of modular multilevel converter (MMC). Therefore, analysis and suppression of the off-state overvoltage are of vital significance. The off-state model of IGBT in an MMC converter is established, and the process of IGBT’s turning off is analyzed. Then, based on the characteristics of IGBT’s off-state and traditional resistance switching strategy, the gate modulation drive strategy is proposed, and the equivalent topology of the MMC submodule with the strategy is established. Finally, MMC submodule models with gate modulation drive and resistance switching strategy, respectively, are built in simulation software, and two groups of data are compared under multiple groups of the control cycle and reference current slope given. The simulation results show that the gate modulation drive supresses the off-state overvoltage on IGBT better than the resistance switching strategy. Moreover, the shorter the control cycle and the less reference current slope, the better the overvoltage suppression.

By establishing a linear regression relationship between the projection coefficient of the empirical orthogonal function (EOF) of the sound speed profile (SSP) and remote sensing parameters of the sea surface, the single empirical orthogonal function regression (sEOF-r) method was used to reconstruct the underwater SSP from satellite remote sensing data. However, because the ocean is a complex dynamical system, the parameters of the surface and the subsurface did not conform to the linear regression model in strict sense. This paper proposes a self-organizing map (SOM)-based nonlinear inversion method that used satellite observations to obtain anomalies in data on the sea surface temperature and height, and combined them with the EOF coefficient from an Argo buoy to train and generate a map. The SSP was then reconstructed by obtaining the best matching neuron. The results of SSP reconstruction in the northern part of the South China Sea showed that the relationship between the parameters of the sea surface and the subsurface could be adequately expressed by the nonlinear neuronal topology. The SOM algorithm generated a smaller inversion error than linear inversion and had better robustness. It improved the average accuracy of reconstruction by 0.88 m/s and reduced the mean-squared reconstruction error to less than 1.19 m/s. It thus offered significant promise for acoustic applications.

The deep structure of orogenic belts and cratons has become an important part to track evolution and innovation of tectonics. The extremely thick crust and overlying deposition bring obstacles to the deep structure of the orogenic belt and ancient block. Deep seismic reflection profile is globally regarded as an advanced technology to perspective the fine structure of the crust and the top of the upper mantle, especially using large-size dynamite shots. In the 1990s, international scholars used deep seismic reflection profiles to find inclined reflections penetrating from the lower crust to the upper mantle (Calvert et al., 1995; Cook et al., 1999). They believe that these reflections are related to ancient subduction events(or fossil subduction). At the beginning of this century, Chinese scholars began to carry out similar experiments in the Tibet Plateau, Sichuan Basin and Songliao basin. Using big-size dynamite shots, they also found the Moho under the extremely thick crust of the Tibet Plateau and the mantle reflection under the ancient block (Gao et al., 2013, 2016; Zhang et al., 2015). In 2016, with the support of China Geological Survey Project,we arranged a seismic reflection profile around the Scientific Deep Drilling SK-2 Well in the middle of Songliao basin. According to the data processing results of all five big-size dynamite shots and four medium-size dynamite shots of the profile, we obtained a 127.3km long single-fold reflection profile, revealing the reflection characteristics of the lower crust, Moho and its upper mantle in the study area. The Moho structure distributed nearly horizontally at a depth of 33km (estimated by the average crustal velocity of 6km/s) is clearly obtained, and the mantle reflection extending obliquely from Moho to 80km-depth is found. Tumor angiogenesis is one of the most important processes of cancer deterioration via nurturing an immunosuppressive tumor environment (TME). Targeting tumor angiogenesis has been widely accepted as a cancer intervention approach, which is also synergistically associated with immune therapy. However, drug resistance is the biggest challenge of anti-angiogenesis therapy, which affects the outcomes of anti-angiogeneic agents, and even combined with immunotherapy. Here, emerging targets and representative candidate molecules from ethnopharmacology (including traditional Chinese medicine, TCM) have been focused, and they have been proved to regulate tumor angiogenesis. Further investigations on derivatives and delivery systems of these molecules will provide a comprehensive landscape in preclinical studies. More importantly, the molecule library of ethnopharmacology meets the viability for targeting angiogenesis and TME simultaneously, which is attributed to the pleiotropy of pro-angiogenic factors (such as VEGF) toward cancer cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells. We primarily shed light on the potentiality of ethnopharmacology against tumor angiogenesis, particularly TCM. More research studies concerning the crosstalk between angiogenesis and TME remodeling from the perspective of botanical medicine are awaited.

The Cauer thermal network has made a realistic physical representation of thermal behaviour of a multi-chip module (MCM) theoretically possible. However, the traditional method assumes the heat conduction is critical, with an approximate one-dimensional heat conduction path for calculation and fixed heat spreading angle to make up for the compensation brought by the approximation. It will limit the accuracy and cause a significant error in estimating the junction temperature of MCM. In this study, the heat spreading angle in the area of two adjacent chips is studied by using a cross-section to change the problem to a two-dimensional heat transfer question. Based on the heat flow got from the results of calculation by using Fourier's law, an expression for heat spreading angle as a function of boundary conditions is given, which is capable of estimating the junction temperature by adjusting effective heat conduction area of an MCM whose thermal behaviour is seriously coupled among neighbour chips. The accuracy of the proposed method and expression is validated by both the finite-element method and experimental results and they both show a good agreement with the calculation.

The surface roughness of bamboo is a factor that determines the processing quality. The effects of spindle speed, feed speed, and cutting depth on the surface roughness of bamboo were studied using the orthogonal design test method. The results were analyzed using range analysis, main effect analysis, interaction analysis, and variance analysis to determine the effect of cutting parameters on the surface roughness of bamboo. The feed speed had a greater effect on the surface roughness of the bamboo in the tangential section; the spindle speed had a greater impact on the surface roughness of the bamboo in the cross section. The cutting depth had a greater impact on the surface roughness of the bamboo in the radial section. For the surface roughness on the tangential, cross, and radial sections of the bamboo, there was a relationship with the cutting parameters. A mathematical model for the analysis of surface roughness was established by response surface method. Also, contour and surface plots based on regression models showed the correlation between surface roughness and all possible pairwise combinations of three cutting parameter variables. The cutting technology with the best surface quality was determined by optimization analysis.

Background Paclitaxel is an effective chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of cancer patients. Accumulating evidence suggests that circular RNAs (circRNAs) play critical roles in the occurrence and development of human cancers. However, there are few studies on interactions between paclitaxel and circRNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials and methods Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay and colony formation assay were conducted to determine cell proliferation. Cell apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry. The expression levels of circRNA baculoviral IAP repeat-containing 6 (circ-BIRC6), microRNA-877-5p (miR-877-5p), and tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activation protein, zeta (YWHAZ) were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The mice xenograft model was established to investigate the roles of circ-BIRC6 and paclitaxel in vivo. The interaction between miR-877-5p and circ-BIRC6 or YWHAZ was predicted by bioinformatics analysis and verified by dual-luciferase reporter assay. Western blot assay was applied for measuring the protein expression of YWHAZ. Results Paclitaxel suppressed HCC tumorigenesis through decreasing cell proliferation and accelerating apoptosis. Circ-BIRC6 and YWHAZ were upregulated, and miR-877-5p was downregulated in HCC tissues and cells. Paclitaxel treatment inhibited the expression of circ-BIRC6 and YWHAZ while promoted the expression of miR-877-5p. Circ-BIRC6 overexpression or miR-877-5p interference reversed the inhibitory effect of paclitaxel on HCC tumorigenesis. Moreover, miR-877-5p could specially bind to YWHAZ, and its knockdown abated the suppressive effect of circ-BIRC6 depletion on HCC tumorigenesis. Additionally, YWHAZ was identified as a direct target of miR-877-5p. Besides, circ-BIRC6 functioned as a molecular sponge of miR-877-5p to regulate YWHAZ expression. Conclusion Paclitaxel limited HCC tumorigenesis via modulating circ-BIRC6/miR-877-5p/YWHAZ axis, providing a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of HCC.

The structure, composition and forming process of accretionary wedges can provide important insights into the evolution history of ocean basin, ocean-continent material cycle, continental accretion and thus contribute to understanding of the origin of plates and the growth of continents. Accretionary complex is characterized by a block-in-matrix structure associated with imbricate thrusts and isoclinal folds, diversified metamorphic types and intense water-rock interactions, which are distinct to the traditional stratigraphy. Since the proposal of the concept of accretionary wedge over a hundred years ago, great progress has been made in a variety of research focuses, such as the identification of the distribution of accretionary complexes, their compositions and formation mechanisms, the affinities of the matrix and igneous rocks, the recognition of the Ocean Plate Stratigraphy (OPS), the reconstruction of oceanic basin, the dynamic background of the tectonic evolution, the relationship between subduction zone and orogenic belt and, in particular, the accretionary complexes in continental subduction zones. These studies have significantly improved our understanding of the plate tectonic theory. Challenges remain in the identification of ancient accretionary complexes, the detailed analysis of accretionary complex zones, the accretion characteristics during continental collision, and the geochemical tracing of water-rock interaction during the accretion. China contains representative orogenic belts and accretionary complex zones in the world, and its geological records provide the best opportunity to make new breakthroughs in understanding of the plate tectonics.

In the process of applying the high-frequency heating technology to bamboo heat treatment, controlling the material temperature has a great influence on the quality of bamboo forming. Therefore, research on the heat transfer mechanism of high-frequency heating of arc-shaped bamboo pieces is of great importance. In this paper, the influence of different moisture content, chord length, and plate voltage on the heating rate of arc-shaped bamboo pieces under high-frequency electric field were studied. The moisture content of bamboo had the most remarkable effect on the heating rate. With increased moisture content, the temperature rose faster. The selection of the plate voltage had an obvious influence on the heating. If the voltage was low, the heating rate was too slow, the heating time was long, or the voltage was high, it was easy to cause electric field breakdown and damage the bamboo pieces. As the chord length decreased, the heating rate gradually increased. When the radian of the arc-shaped bamboo pieces could be ignored, the heating rate was the fastest. The results showed that under certain conditions, the arc-shaped bamboo pieces showed a good heat treatment effect in a high-frequency electric field.

Cement-based composites with periodic wedge-shaped surfaces were manufactured by molding, and its microwave absorbing properties (MAPs) were measured in 1.7–18 GHz using arch method and simulated in 8–18 GHz. The results indicate that the MAPs of the composite in both polarization directions (PDs, perpendicular polarization, and parallel polarization) are improved greatly by the wedge structures. The higher the frequency is, the better the MAPs are especially in parallel PD. Large wedge height and large carbon black (CB) content enhance the MAPs of the composite, and enlarging the height is an effective method to enhance the MAPs in the low frequency range. When composites are filled with lightweight fillers, there is a slight decrease in the MAPs in parallel PD. The reflectivity is below − 10 dB in 3.7–18 GHz when the wedge height is 40 mm and CB is 1.5 g/L in both PDs. The excellent impedance matching caused by physical gradients and multiple reflections between wedges enhanced attenuation.
