A man in his early 60s with Takakura stage IIIB varus ankle arthritis underwent four combined procedures (Dwyer’s osteotomy with lateral displacement, superficial/deep deltoid ligament release, anterior talofibular ligament/calcaneofibular ligament reconstruction with suture tape augmentation and posterior tibial tendon lengthening). Decreased talar tilt and talar centre lateral shifting and improved hindfoot varus were observed 2 years postoperatively. Also, excellent clinical outcome could be achieved.

Background: Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is an effective treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), however, the complications of TACE have gradually become a concern of clinicians. Injury to the bile duct has been the focus of many scholars. Case Presentation: HCC was diagnosed in a 51-year-old female patient, and the first TACE was performed on April 10, 2020. The second TACE was performed on October 18, 2021. After the second TACE, The patient suffered from nausea, jaundice, and body itching. Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen showed that the lower common bile duct was obviously blocked by the solidified lipiodol accompanied by dilatation of intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts on October 27, 2021. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancretography (ERCP) and endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ENBD) were performed on October 29, 2021. The deposition of lipiodol in the common bile duct was significantly reduced. Conclusion: After the transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma, we should be on alert for damage to the bile duct, and pay attention to the deposition of lipiodol in the common bile duct.

The effect of Ni-based fillers on corrosion resistance of welded super austenitic stainless steel (SASS) was examined. The use of Ni-based fillers for gas tungsten arc welded SASS leads to the formation of fine Cr-Mo enriched phase in its weld unmixed zone, which makes it more susceptible to the localized corrosion. The metallographic observations showed that the pits were initiated around the fine Cr-Mo enriched phase precipitated in unmixed zone, and they were propagated along the base metal. The degree of corrosion damage among the welded samples using the three types of Ni-based fillers (Inconel 625, Inconel 622, Hastelloy 276) increased with the Mo contents in the fillers applied. The higher the Mo contents in the fillers, the higher the size/number ratio of Cr-Mo enriched phase with higher concentration of Mo, precipitated in unmixed zone. Based on the results, it is proposed that the Mo contents in Ni-based high alloyed fillers can have a great effect on the precipitation behavior of Cr-Mo enriched phase in unmixed zone, causing deterioration of corrosion resistance of SASS welds. Therefore, the Mo content in the filler should be optimized with the content similar to that of the base metal so as not to susceptible to localized corrosion.

The development of cracks in reinforced concrete structures can accelerate structural deterioration and reduce service life. A numerical model was established to analyse steel bar corrosion in chloride-contaminated concrete with transverse cracks. In the model, the dynamic distinction between anode and cathode regions on the steel surface is considered by introducing an empirical formula for the anodic Tafel slope related to chloride concentration. The time-dependent characteristics of the corroded region were examined using the proposed corrosion prediction model and the corrosion process of steel bars in cracked concrete was revealed. The effects of crack width and crack spacing on steel corrosion were analysed in detail in terms of the corrosion area and corrosion rate. The results showed a variation in the corrosion area adjacent to cracks over time and a positive correlation between corrosion area and the square root of time. According to the micro-cell and macro-cell contributions to the corrosion rate, the process of steel bar corrosion was determined to occur in three stages. The effects of transverse cracks on the corrosion rate were found to vary with exposure time and to depend on the control steps of the micro- or macro-cells.

Background: Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas are the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Because cutaneous lymphomas predominantly originate from the T cells, primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphomas are considered a rare subtype of extranodal diffuse large B-cell lymphomas that commonly involve the subcutaneous tissues of the trunk and extremities. To date, only a single case of facial primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma has been reported in the literature. Case Report: We present a case of primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma presented with a small painless nodule in the right nasolabial fold that had persisted for 10 days in a 67-year-old man. Ultrasonographic findings of this lesion mimicked the features of a complicated epidermal inclusion cyst. Primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was confirmed by an excisional biopsy of the mass. Conclusion: The diagnosis of primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphomas presenting as “oops lesions” in daily clinical practice can be challenging due to their rarity and nonspecific clinical and radiological findings. Therefore, clinical suspicion and awareness are critical for the accurate diagnosis and management of patients with palpable soft tissue masses in the head and neck region.

An intelligent manufacturing system is a manufacturing system that can automatically adapt to changing environments and varying process requirements with minimal supervision and assistance from operators. Therefore, intelligent manufacturing has become a recognized core high technology to enhance the overall competitiveness of the manufacturing industry. The goal of intelligent manufacturing is to make production resources form a circular network with the characteristics of autonomy, adjustability, and configurability, to develop production processes flexibly, and to realize the efficiency of individual customization. For example, by analyzing the factory floor data, equipment monitored data, and the enterprise manufacturing database, it could help to store, explore, and make complex decisions for the manufacturing system. To achieve this goal, modern information technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and mobile Internet, modeling, control, and optimization need to be integrated and collaborated with the physical resources of the manufacturing process, which triggers new theory, solution algorithms, and application scenarios.

A woman with history of bilateral breast augmentation 15 years prior presented with right breast swelling, peri-implant effusion and a palpable inferomedial mass. Effusion aspiration demonstrated pleiomorphic cells consistent with breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Further diagnostic studies confirmed stage III disease with a 4.7 cm right breast mass and fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in an internal mammary chain lymph node. The patient underwent surgery with incomplete resection due to invasion of the chest wall followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. BIA-ALCL typically presents as an indolent effusion, however advanced disease carries a worse prognosis. This case highlights successful treatment without recurrence past the one-year mark as well as the need for multidisciplinary management when dealing with advanced disease.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is very rarely associated with bilateral vision loss, and only in advanced disease. We report a case of bilateral severe compressive optic neuropathy as a first presentation from massive nasopharyngeal carcinoma with poor visual outcome despite corticosteroid, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Red flag symptoms and signs of mass lesions in the posterior nasal space should be investigated and treated promptly to prevent devastating visual and prognostic consequences.
