The probability distribution of the fluctuating velocity in three dimensions and the near-bed shear stress (NBSS) of a channel with a deposit body were studied using mathematical statistics and the turbulent kinetic energy method, respectively. This analysis of the longitudinal and plane distributions of the NBSS under varying discharges, width ratios and lateral slopes will help further understanding of the laws of sediment incipient motion and transport in channels. It was found that the probability distribution of the near-bed vertical fluctuating velocity was closer to a normal distribution than that in the longitudinal and transversal directions. The NBSS did not change much in the upstream sections of the deposit body, but the difference between the left bank (near the deposit body) and the right bank (far away from the deposit body) was obvious in the sections near the deposit body and downstream. A high shear stress area was located in the transition zone between the main flow and the backflow. Introducing the backwater parameter β, an exponential relationship between the relative NBSS and β was determined, which will help in quick estimates of the NBSS in future practical projects.

Introduction: Limited experience exists regarding the clinical features of focal lipogranuloma inflammation of the lung, and there are no supporting guidelines for the diagnostic approach. Case Description: We present the case of a 20-year-old man who was found to have a pulmonary nodule with a smooth margin during a health examination. He underwent wedge resection of the left lower lung to achieve a tissue diagnosis; this showed focal lipogranuloma inflammation of the lung. Conclusion: In this report, we combined imaging and pathological findings to reach the diagnosis, with a view to assisting clinicians in navigating this challenging clinical situation.

Objectives. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to examine the relationship between perfectionism and pain in patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). Methods. A total of 345 TMD patients were included. A questionnaire consisting of questions of demographic information, the 15-item short form of the Hewitt and Flett Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, and the Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4) was distributed. According to the diagnostic criteria for TMDs, patients were categorized as pain-related (PT) and non-pain-related (NPT) groups, whereas PT patients were further divided into patients with pain-related TMDs only (OPT) and patients with combined pain-related and intra-articular TMDs (CPT). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test, Spearman’s correlation, and logistic regression analysis with the significance level set at p < 0.05 . Results. There were 68 patients in the NPT group, 80 in the OPT group, and 197 in the CPT group. PT patients had significantly higher perfectionism scores (63.58 ± 13.63) than NPT patients (56.32 ± 12.95, p < 0.001 ). The PHQ-4 score in the PT group was also higher. After adjusting the PHQ-4 scores, perfectionism scores of the PT group were 6.11 points higher than those in the NPT group ( p < 0.001 ). There were no statistical differences in all parameters of OPT and CPT groups ( p > 0.05 ). Perfectionism in total, other-oriented perfectionism (OOP), and socially prescribed perfectionism (SPP) showed significant but weak correlations with PHQ-4 scores ( p < 0.001 ), while self-oriented perfectionism (SOP) was also significantly but very weakly correlated with PHQ-4 scores ( p < 0.05 ). Conclusions. Pain-related TMD patients exhibited higher perfectionism scores than NPT patients, and neither their perfectionism nor pain scores were correlated with intra-articular diseases of TMJ. OOP and SOP presented weak correlations with psychological distress in TMD patients. It is suggested that pain-related TMD patients could be screened for perfectionism and perfectionism could be considered when proposing psychological treatment strategies to PT patients.

Wearable fitness devices are equipped with internet connectivity and capable of tracking, storing, and transmitting health data. A research model is proposed and tested, which shows how cognitive, affective, social, and motivational consumer factors affect the intention to adopt wearables, respectively. The antecedents of these factors are also studied, including perceived usefulness, ease of use, and effectiveness for cognitive factors; positive and negative feelings for affective factors; perceived number of users, number of peers, and social images for social factors. An online survey was conducted among 297 non-wearable-users in the U.S. to collect data. Structural equation modeling was used to test the intention model. The results showed that three factors—cognitive, affective, and motivational—emerged as key determinants of consumers' intention to adopt wearables, with affective factors showing the most explanatory power. The role of the price factor was also revealed. Theoretical and business practical implications are discussed based on the current findings.

PURPOSE Immune checkpoint inhibitors combined with antiangiogenic therapy reportedly have potential synergistic antitumor activity. We investigated the activity and safety of this regimen for recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). METHODS This single-arm, Simon two-stage study enrolled patients with recurrent/metastatic NPC who were refractory to at least first-line systemic therapy and treatment-naive to immune checkpoint inhibitors. The patients received camrelizumab 200 mg once every 3 weeks and apatinib 250 mg once per day. The primary end point was the objective response rate. Key secondary end points included disease control rate, progression-free survival, duration of response, overall survival, and safety. RESULTS Between October 14, 2020, and December 23, 2021, 58 patients were enrolled, and all were included in the efficacy and safety analysis set. The objective response rate was 65.5% (95% CI, 51.9 to 77.5), and the disease control rate was 86.2% (95% CI, 74.6 to 93.9). The median duration of response was not reached, and the median progression-free survival was 10.4 months (95% CI, 7.2 to 13.6), with a median follow-up duration of 12.4 months (range, 2.1-19.9 months). Treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) of grade 3 or higher were reported in 34 (58.6%) patients, with the most common being hypertension (19.0%), nasopharyngeal necrosis (15.5%), headache (12.1%), AST elevation (10.3%), and creatine phosphokinase elevation (10.3%). Sixteen (27.6%) patients discontinued apatinib treatment before progression because of unbearable TRAEs, and the most common complication was nasopharyngeal necrosis (9/16; 56.3%). Recurrent nasopharyngeal lesions (odds ratio, 5.94 [95% CI, 1.45 to 24.24]) and reirradiation (odds ratio, 5.33 [95% CI, 1.15 to 24.79]) were significantly positively correlated with nasopharyngeal necrosis. CONCLUSION Camrelizumab plus apatinib had promising antitumor activity in patients with refractory recurrent/metastatic NPC who failed first-line therapy. Moderate to severe TRAEs were experienced by 58.6%, including nasopharyngeal necrosis associated with local recurrence and a history of reirradiation.

A aquisição do artigo é um processo no qual os aprendentes de L2 estabelecem gradualmente um valor semântico apropriado para o parâmetro do artigo. Segundo a Hipótese de Flutuação (Ionin, 2003), os aprendentes de uma L2 flutuam entre a marcação dos traços de definitude e de especificidade na escolha do artigo, o que é considerado uma propriedade temporária do sistema da sua interlíngua. Com uma longa exposição ao input da L2, os aprendentes vão estabelecendo o valor paramétrico adequado do artigo. O presente estudo visou testar, junto dos aprendentes chineses cuja L1 não possui este sistema linguístico, a validade da Hipótese de Flutuação. Os dados corroboraram a flutuação na escolha de artigos portugueses por este grupo de aprendentes de nível A2/B1 de proficiência em português, tendo apontado para o input de L2 e a Gramática Universal como fontes de conhecimento linguístico a que os aprendentes chineses recorrem para a aquisição do artigo em português. Esta pesquisa poderá contribuir como suporte teórico para o ensino do artigo em português a aprendentes chineses.
