The low permeability of antifungal agents to fungal biofilms, which allows the continued survival of the fungus inside, is a key issue that makes fungal infections difficult to cure. Inspired by the unique dynamic molecule motion properties of the polyrotaxane (PR) nanomedicine, herein, a dynamic delivery system Clo@mPRP/NONOate was fabricated by co-loading nitric oxide (NO) and the antifungal drug clotrimazole (Clo) onto the α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) PR modified mesoporous polydopamine (mPDA) nanoparticles, in which pentaethylenehexamine (PEHA) was grafted to α-CDs. The cationic α-CDs endowed this dynamic NO/Clo codelivery system with the ability to effectively attach to fungal biofilms through electrostatic interaction, while the introduction of PRs with flexible molecule motion (slide and rotation of CDs) enhanced the permeability of nanoparticles to biofilms. Meanwhile, NO could effectively inhibit the formation of fungal hyphae, showing an dissipating effect on mature biofilms, and could be further combined with Clo to completely eradicate fungi inside the biofilms. In addition, the dynamic system Clo@mPRP/NONOate could efficiently and synergistically eliminate planktonic Candida albicans (C. albicans) in a safe and no toxic side effect manner, and effectively cured C. albicans-induced vaginal infection in mice. Therefore, this dynamic NO/Clo codelivery system provided an effective solution to the clinical treatment of C. albicans-induced vaginal infection, and the application prospect could even be extended to other microbial infectious diseases. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: A dynamic codelivery system based on cationized cyclodextrin polyrotaxane combining nitric oxide and antifungal drugs clotrimazole was prepared to deal with the issue of clinical fungal biofilm infection. This dynamic codelivery system could be attached to the Candida albicans biofilms and penetrate into biofilm via flexible molecular mobility to effectively eradicate the fungi. This dynamic codelivery system could synergistically and efficiently eliminate planktonic-state Candida albicans, but did not show significant cytotoxicity to normal somatic cells.

Flammulina velutipes polysaccharides (FVP) have been proven to induce apoptosis in HepG2 cells. It is well known that endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) is involved in apoptosis. However, ERS mediates FVP-induced apoptosis in HepG2 cells remains unclear. In our study, the results indicated that FVP caused ERS in HepG2 cells. They showed that FVP were water-soluble polysaccharides with the weight average molecular weight of 1972 kDa, which were mainly composed of mannose, gluconic acid, glucose, galactose, xylose and fructose in a molar ratio of 6.6 : 1.3 : 79.9 : 7.4 : 3.4 : 1.5. After FVP treatment, the expression levels of genes and proteins related to ERS were upregulated. In order to mater the reasonable layout basis of the terminal mining line position in the repeated mining of close-distance thick coal seams, taking Yan mine as the engineering background, we conducted theoretical analyses, numerical simulations, and field measurements to study the action mechanism of the stress arch. The results show that (1) with repeated mining, the shape of the left and right half arches of the stress arch changes in the order of time and space until it is stable; (2) the shape of the stress arch is highly related to the distribution of abutment pressure in the working face. If the shape is unchanged, the distribution of abutment pressure is unchanged; (3) in the final mining stage of repeated mining, when the shape of the right half arch is stable, the difference stagger distance of the terminal mining line has little effect on the distribution of abutment pressure of the working face where the front arch foot is located; (4) when the internal stagger distance between 3216 working face and terminal mining line of 4216 working face is greater than 22 m or the external stagger distance is greater than 30 m, 3216 working face is located in a relatively safe position. This study clarifies the key factors for the layout of terminal mining lines in close-distance thick coal seams, which can provide a scientific basis for similar projects.

Considering the serious asymmetric deformation and failure of the floor of 1# main roadway in Wanglou Coal Mine, the mechanism of roadway asymmetric floor heave was studied through on-site investigation, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and on-site test. The following conclusions were drawn: (1) the floor heave of 1# main roadway is mainly caused by high original rock stress, surrounding rock stress, water physical effect, support strength, etc. (2) A mechanical model of asymmetric floor heave is built and analyzed. Roadway floor stability is relevant to the stress concentration coefficient of the roadway sides, the burial depth of the roadway, and the cohesion and internal angle of friction of the floor rock. The relationship between the upward resultant force of the floor and the stress concentration coefficient of the roadway sides is established. Affected by mining, the upward force of roadway floor reaches 17.0 MPa, and serious floor heave is easy to occur when the floor is opened. (3) The floor heave curve of the position of 1# main roadway corresponding to working face is obviously asymmetric, the maximum value of floor heave being 948 mm. The floor heave curve of other positions of 1# main roadway is basically symmetric, the maximum floor heave value being merely 497 mm. A new “differentiated” combined support is proposed and field tested. It has been 13 months since the completion of main roadway repair in this section, no obvious deformation occurred, and the long-term stability of soft rock roadway support in deep mines is realized.

The development of efficient electrocatalysts based on non-noble metals for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) remains an important and challenging task. Multinuclear transition-metal clusters with high structural stability are promising OER catalysts but their catalytic role is poorly understood. Here we report the crystallographic observation of OER activity over robust {Ni12}-clusters immobilised in a porous metal-organic framework, NKU-100, by single-crystal X-ray diffraction as a function of external applied potential. We observed the aggregation of confined oxygen species around the {Ni12}-cluster as a function of applied potential during the electrocatalytic process. The refined occupancy of these oxygen species shows a strong correlation with the variation of current density. This study demonstrates that the enrichment of oxygen species in the secondary co-ordination sphere of multinuclear transition-metal clusters can promote the OER activity.

The preparation of the compact and full-coverage AgSbS2 thin films is firstly reported using the pyrolysis of the Ag-butyldithiocarbamate and Sb-butyldithiocarbamate complex solution in DMF. The influence of the preparation temperature on the crystal phase, optical absorption, morphology of the AgSbS2 thin films is systematically investigated. The AgSbS2 thin films at 150 °C for 30 min are composed of the individual nanoparticles with the particle sizes of 30–60 nm. When the AgSbS2 thin films are further heated at 350 °C for 2 min, the individual AgSbS2 nanoparticles are melted together and the grain boundary between the AgSbS2 nanoparticles disappear. The solar cells with the architecture of FTO/compact TiO2/AgSbS2/spiro-OMeTAD/Au achieve the photoelectric conversion efficiency (PCE) of 2.09%, along with the open-circuit voltage of 0.44 V, the short-circuit photocurrent density of 10.49 mA cm−2, the fill factor of 0.45. The PCE of 2.09% is the highest value for the AgSbS2 solar cells.

In this paper, a fluid-thermal coupled finite element model is established according to the design parameters of dry type air core reactor. The detailed temperature distribution can be achieved, the maximum error coefficient of temperature rise is only 6% compared with the test results of prototype, and the accuracy of finite element calculate method is verified. Taking the equal height and heat flux design parameters of reactor as research object, the natural-convection cooling performance of reactor with and without the rain cover is investigated. It can be found that the temperature rise of reactor is significantly increased when adding the rain cover, and the reasons are given by analyzing the fluid velocity distribution of air ducts between the encapsulation coils. In order to reduce the temperature rise of the reactor with the rain cover, the optimization method based on the orthogonal experiment design and finite element method is proposed. The six factors of the double rain cover are given, which mainly affect the temperature rise of reactor, and the five levels are selected, the influence curve and contribution rate of each factor on the temperature rise of reactor are analyzed. The results show that the contribution ratio of the parameter H1, L1, and L2, are obviously higher than the parameter H2, L3, and ?, so the more attention should be paid in the design of double rain cover. Meanwhile, the optimal structural parameters of rain cover are given based on the influence curves, and the temperature rise is only 43.25?. The results show that the optimization method can reduce the temperature rise of reactor significantly. In addition, the temperature distribution of inner encapsulations coils of reactor are basically the same, the current carrying capacity of coils can be fully utilized, which provides an important guidance for the optimization design of reactor.

We firstly demonstrate the feasibility of 179.2 Tb/s transmissions over a 350 km 7-core fiber link while considering the splicing loss and link budget reservation for field deployment, using real-time 400Gb/s/carrier commercial transceivers.

The active modulation of the Fano resonance is rare but desirable. However, recent studies mostly focused on a single modulation method and few reported the use of three photoelectric control methods. A tunable graphene DNA-like metamaterial modulator with multispectral Fano resonance is demonstrated. In experimentally fabricated metamaterials with six photoelectric joint modulation patterns, each joint shows different optoelectrical response characteristics. Ultrahigh modulation depth (MD) up to 982% was achieved at 1.5734 THz with a 1.040 A external laser pump by involving combined optoelectrical methods. These results show that the metasurface modulator is a promising platform for higher-order Fano resonance modulation and communication fields.

The two-step preparation of compact and crystalline Sb2S3 thin films was firstly reported using the pyrolysis of the Sb-butyldithiocarbamate complex solution in DMF. The porous and amorphous Sb2S3 thin films were successfully prepared at 170 °C for 30 min, and then can be converted to compact and crystalline Sb2S3 thin films at 200 °C for 30 min or 300 °C for 2 min. The corresponding solar cells with the architecture of FTO/TiO2 compact layer/Sb2S3/spiro-OMeTAD/Au achieved the photoelectric conversion efficiency of 4.16% at 200 °C and 5.05% at 300 °C. The two-step preparation of the compact and crystalline Sb2S3 thin films can provide the feasible approach for the fabrication of various microstructure thin film solar cells and the low preparation temperature of 200 °C was also attractive to assemble the flexible Sb2S3 thin film solar cells.

Using AgNO3 as the Ag source, the Ag@BiOCl photocatalyst was prepared by depositing noble metal Ag on the surface of BiOCl by solvothermal method. Ag exists as spherical particles with a diameter of 40 nm. Based on the surface plasmon resonance effect (SPR) of Ag, the photoresponse range of BiOCl was successfully extended to the visible light region, which reduced the photo-generated electron-hole recombination efficiency and improved the charge transfer efficiency. The photocatalytic performance of Ag@BiOCl was studied under visible light. The results show that when the Ag content is 10wt%, it exhibits excellent effects on the degradation of acid red B (ARB), and its degradation rate constant is 11 times larger than that of BiOCl. The active substance-capturing test results show that the main role in photocatalytic degradation of ARB is voids.

We have already reported the modification on the piperazine and phenyl rings of JNJ4796, a small-molecule fuse inhibitor targeting hemagglutinin (HA). In this study, we described the structure-activity relationship of the benzoxazole and tetrazole rings of JNJ4796. Many derivatives demonstrated good in vitro activity against IAV H1N1and Oseltamivir-resistant IAV H1N1 stains. Although compounds (R)-1e and (R)-1h exhibited excellent in vitro activity, high drug exposure level and low hERG inhibition, they displayed low oral efficacy. Excitedly, (R)-1a, a representative identified in our previous study, was found to show potent in vivo anti-IAV activity with the survival rates of 100%, 100% and 70% at 15, 5 and 1.67 mg/kg, respectively, comparable to JNJ4796. Currently, we are exploring different ways to ease its gastrointestinal response.

The phenomenon of multi-resonant Fano resonances is important for the design of biosensors and communication fields. There are very few studies reporting the multi-band Fano resonance metamaterials with more than three resonance frequencies, or the tunable optical metamaterials to control the multi-band Fano resonance characteristics. Here, we report dual control of multi-band Fano resonances with a metal-halide perovskite-integrated terahertz metasurface by lasers and an electrical field. By tuning the conductivity of the perovskite film on the metasurface, ultrasensitive optoelectronic modulation was achieved. The terahertz transmission amplitude exhibited increasing and decreasing stages. We analyzed the physical phenomena and found that capacitance effects and Fermi-level enhancement had significant roles in the optical- and electronic-modulation experiments. The resonant frequencies in the electronic modulation had broader frequency shifts and a higher and wider tunable modulation depth range. More importantly, the maximum modulation depth was as high as 197%, with a significant fluctuation in the amplitude and more unstable frequency shifts in the transmission spectra.
