Ilmu pengetahuan, kesedaran dan sikap merupakan di antara faktor yang mendorong kepada amalan perancangan harta. Namun, masih ramai masyarakat yang tidak menyedari tentang keperluan dan kepentingan pengurusan harta. Dianggarkan sebanyak 95 peratus umat Islam masih tidak sedar berkaitan kepentingan menguruskan harta semasa hidup. Perkara sebegini merupakan sesuatu yang sangat merisaukan kerana harta pusaka yang tidak diuruskan dengan sebaiknya akan mengundang kepada implikasi negatif dari segi undang-undang, ekonomi dan sosial. Justeru, adalah sangat penting untuk memahami faktor-faktor seperti faktor tahap pengetahuan, kesedaran dan sikap yang mempengaruhi masyarakat Islam supaya mereka sedar akan kepentingan pengurusan hartanah. Oleh itu, tujuan kajian ini dilaksanakan bagi mencadangkan satu model untuk mengukur gelagat pemberi hibah berdasarkan kepada Teori Tindakan Bersebab (TBK). Selain itu, kajian ini dapat membantu institusi terlibat sama ada melibatkan pihak kerajaan mahupun swasta bagi merangka strategi dan dasar tertentu bagi menggalakkan umat Islam melaksanakan hibah. Kedua, kajian ini juga dilihat dapat membantu dalam memahami sebab masyarakat Islam masih kurang merancang harta melalui hibah. Metodologi kajian ini berbentuk kualitatif menggunakan kaedah analisa isi kandugan. Artikel ini telah membincangkan keperluan untuk meneroka dengan lebih mendalam mengenai gelagat pemberi hibah yang diwujudkan bagi menyelesaikan masalah harta pusaka yang tidak diurus dengan baik. Hasil dari analisa kandungan yang dijalankan, tiga hipotesis telah dicadangkan bagi melihat hubungan di antara tahap pengetahuan, kesedaran dan sikap dengan gelagat pemberi hibah. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat membantu institusi terlibat sama ada melibatkan pihak kerajaan mahupun swasta bagi merangka strategi dan dasar tertentu bagi menggalakkan masyarakat Islam melaksanakan hibah.

Indoor environmental quality has a profound effect on human health and productivity. In this respect, this study evaluates indoor air quality in terms of its various parameters in sustainably built homes in three different locations. A supplementary study to examine the formaldehyde emission levels from furniture with three different finishes was also undertaken. A questionnaire-based survey was then conducted to evaluate the general public perception of the prevailing indoor air quality in the three locations. The results revealed that temperature, relative humidity, indoor air speed, particulate matter (PM10), CO2, NO2, and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and formaldehyde (HCHO) readings were not significantly different between the three locations and were below the existing limit allowed for indoor environmental quality. However, the HCHO emission was the highest from furniture with the two-layer coatings, followed by single layer coating, and finally the furniture with the veneer overlay. It was noteworthy that the general public’s awareness and knowledge of indoor air quality was relatively poor, except for the tertiary level educated respondents. In this regard, policymakers need to increase the awareness and knowledge of indoor environmental quality among the general public, if non-compliance is to be detected and promptly addressed.

As the world intensifies efforts to mitigate the effect of global climate change, an on-line survey was carried out involving 1,081 wood products and furniture manufacturers in Malaysia. The main objective was to evaluate the level of awareness, extent of adoption, and challenges faced by these manufacturers in adopting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The survey found that large-sized companies were more receptive to adopting ESG practices, as opposed to the medium-, small-, and micro-sized companies. Respondents were apparently more responsive to environmental requirements, followed by governance, and finally the social factors. Within the environmental sphere, compliance with using certified and legal wood and wood products, waste management, and conformance to emission standards were well received among respondents. The survey revealed that market forces and legislative requirements were the two most important factors that enticed respondents to comply with the ESG practices; among those respondents who did not comply with ESG requirements, the primary deterrent factors include lack of awareness, no direct benefit from adopting ESG, and the high cost involved. The ESG compliance may transform the wood products and furniture industries into a more sustainable industry, offering equitable wages and green jobs while producing high value-added products.

Various vascular closure devices (VCDs) are commonly used for percutaneous transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). However, superiority and safety profile among them remain unclear. We compared periprocedural complications among various VCDs in patients undergoing TAVR. PubMed and EMBASE were searched through January 2022 to identify clinical studies comparing any 2 VCDs of Prostar, Proglide and MANTA in patients who underwent TAVR. Studies using surgical cut-down or alternative access other than transfemoral approach were excluded. We analyzed the odds ratios (ORs) of vascular complications (VC), bleeding, acute kidney injury and all-cause mortality using a network meta-analysis. All outcomes were defined by Valve Academic Research Consortium 2 criteria. Two randomized controlled trials and 15 observational studies were identified, yielding a total of 11,344 patients including Prostar (n = 4499), Proglide (n = 5705), or MANTA group (n = 1140). The rates of major VC and life-threatening and major bleeding were significantly lower in Proglide compared to Prostar (OR [95 % CI] = 0.54 [0.32-0.89], 0.68 [0.52-0.90], and 0.49 [0.26-0.95], respectively). There was no significant difference in major VC and bleeding between Proglide and MANTA groups. Proglide was associated with a lower rate of acute kidney injury (0.56 [0.34-0.92]) and red blood cell transfusion (0.39 [0.16-0.98]) compared to Prostar. There was no significant difference in additional interventions and 30-day overall mortality among three groups. In this network meta-analysis of VCD in patients undergoing TAVR, MANTA and Proglide had comparable outcomes while Proglide appears superior to Prostar in terms of major VC and bleeding.

The ACURATE neo2 (NEO2) and Evolut PRO/PRO+ (PRO) bioprostheses are new-generation self-expanding valves developed for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).We sought to compare the performance of the ACURATE neo2 and Evolut PRO/PRO+ devices.The NEOPRO-2 registry retrospectively included patients who underwent TAVR for severe aortic stenosis with either the NEO2 or PRO devices between August 2017 and December 2021 at 20 centres. In-hospital and 30-day Valve Academic Research Consortium (VARC)-3 defined outcomes were evaluated. Propensity score (PS) matching and binary logistic regression were performed to adjust the treatment effect for PS quintiles. A subgroup analysis assessed the impact of aortic valve calcification.A total of 2,175 patients (NEO2: n=763; PRO: n=1,412) were included. The mean age was 82±6.2 years and the mean Society of Thoracic Surgeons score was 4.2%. Periprocedural complications were low, and both groups achieved high rates of technical success (93.1% vs 94.1%; p=0.361) and predischarge intended valve performance (96.0% vs 94.1%; p=0.056), both in the unmatched and matched analysis (452 pairs). Device success at 30 days was comparable (84.3% vs 83.6%; p=0.688), regardless of aortic valve calcification severity (p0.05 for interaction). A suggestion for higher VARC-3 early safety in the NEO2 group was mainly driven by reduced rates of new permanent pacemaker implantation (7.7% vs 15.6%; p0.001).This retrospective analysis reports a similar short-term performance of the ACURATE neo2 platform compared with the new-generation Evolut PRO/PRO+ devices. Randomised studies are needed to confirm our exploratory findings.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana ke-efektivitasan kinerja pengelolaan program Bumdes dalam rangka memberdayakan ekonomi masyarakat desa dan untuk mengetahui konsep program pengelolaan Bumdes desa Wringintelu dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan tersebut maka jenis penelitiaan yang di gunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskritif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data melalui, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Dari penelitian ini memperoleh hasil yang dapat di tunjukan bahwa Efektivitas BUMDES dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat desa, 1). Bumdes desa Wringintelu kecamatan Puger, 2). Data Struktur pengurus Bumdes desa Wringintelu kecamatan Puger kabupaten Jember, 3). Data pekerja Bumdes desa Wringintelu kecamatan puger kabupaten Jember. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan Bumdes desa Wringintelu kecamatan puger kabupaten jember memberikan suatu pelayanan berupa kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk mengentaskan masyarakat miski, perlunya peran lembaga ekonomi ini untuk mengatasi masalah – masalah sosial seperti kemiskinan dan kesenjangan. Chilaiditi’s sign is a rare radiological finding in which a portion of the colon or small intestine is interposed between the liver and right hemidiaphragm. Associated to pain, it is called Chilaiditi syndrome. We describe the case of a patient who was admitted to our radiology department to release a body-computed tomography (CT) for its breast cancer extension assessment. We incidentally discovered a colic hepato-phrenic interposition related to a Chilaiditi sign associated with right renal agenesis. In this case report we treated Chilaiditi sign can exist without Chilaiditi syndrome, as it could be associated with other pathologies and abnormal anatomic malformation like renal agenesis.

Introduction: Feeding jejunostomy is a rather safe procedure. Major complications are rare, but can be serious, nevertheless. Case Report: We report a case of a 57-year-old male, diagnosed with epidermoid carcinoma of the larynx. The patient received 3 cures of induction chemotherapy before being lost to follow-up. One year later, the patient presented with significant dysphagia and benefited from a feeding jejunostomy utilizing the Witzel technique. Postoperative course was marked by abdominal tenderness, and hemodynamic and respiratory impairment. Lab tests showed a continuous elevation of markers of infection. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed an extradigestive distal end of the jejunostomy tube, associated with a voluminous pneumoperitoneum, predominant around the tube end, keeping with a small bowel perforation. The evolution was marked by respiratory fatigue, and hemodynamic instability. The patient, unfortunately died subsequently, despite maximal supportive measures. Conclusion: Computed tomography (CT) scan is a helpful tool for the diagnosis of feeding jejunostomy’s major complications besides physical examination and biology. Limiting the indications of this surgical procedure and being attentive to surgical details may help reduce the risk of complications.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is increasingly being performed in younger and lower surgical risk patients. Given the longer life expectancy of these patients, the bioprosthetic valve will eventually fail, and aortic valve reintervention may be necessary. Although currently rare, redo-TAVR will likely increase in the future as younger patients are expected to outlive their transcatheter bioprosthesis. This review provides a contemporary overview of the indications, procedural planning, implantation technique, and outcomes of TAVR in failed transcatheter bioprosthetic aortic valves.

Transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) with MitraClip (Abbott, Santa Clara, California) is a frequently chosen method for mitral valve repair for patients at high surgical risk. We investigated the impact of frailty on outcomes of patients who underwent TEER. We reviewed the National Inpatient Sample to identify patients that underwent TEER with MitraClip. Frailty was defined using the Johns Hopkins Adjusted Clinical Groups frailty-defining diagnoses indicator. The primary end point was in-hospital mortality. The secondary end points included blood transfusion, respiratory failure, sepsis, length of stay, and total hospitalization cost. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to determine any association between frailty and primary or secondary outcomes. From January 2016 to December 2017, 10,055 patients underwent TEER in the United States, and 10.6% of them met the criteria for frailty. The frail group showed increased in-hospital mortality (7.04% vs 1.61%, p lt;0.001) and respiratory failure (3.75% vs 0.95%, p lt;0.001). Similarly, the frail group had longer lengths of stay (6 vs 2 days, p lt;0.001) and higher hospitalization costs ($224.8k vs $180.9k, p lt;0.001). After multivariable logistic regression analysis, frailty was associated with increased in-hospital mortality (odds ratio [OR] 3.70, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.91 to 7.18, p lt;0.001), transfusion (OR 1.85, 95% CI 1.07 to 3.19, p = 0.029), respiratory failure (OR 3.56, 95% CI 1.48 to 8.52, p = 0.005), and sepsis (OR 4.17, 95% CI 1.84 to 9.46, p = 0.001). In conclusion, frailty was present in about 10% of patients who underwent TEER from 2016 to 2017. The presence of frailty was associated with worse in-hospital outcomes and greater resource use.

The bending performance of wood is important for its application in furniture, and it is one of the criteria used to assess the suitability of a particular wood species for furniture. In this context, the steam-bending and surface roughness characteristics of four forest plantation wood species were evaluated. One batch of wood specimens were subjected to both surface roughness experiments using the stylus and toluene spread methods, while another batch of the wood specimens were subjected to steaming, clamped, and bent using a circular shape mold. The instantaneous spring-back was measured after 10 days, while the spring-back over time was measured from days 15 to 65. The surface roughness experiments showed that the Hevea brasiliensis had the lowest surface roughness, followed by the Eucalyptus pellita, Acacia mangium, and finally Revotropix paulownia. In terms of the bending performance, it was found that only the H. brasiliensis achieved the threshold 95% satisfactory level based on visual ranking. Furthermore, the wood species also recorded the lowest spring-back, both instantaneous and over-time, to register the best bending performance. On the other hand, R. paulownia had the worst bending performance, primarily due to its low density.

Little is known about the overall diagnostic performance of computational fractional flow reserve (FFR) derived from angiography (Angio-FFR), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS-FFR), and optical coherence tomography (OCT-FFR) to detect hemodynamically significant coronary artery disease. The present study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of those novel physiologic indices using conventional FFR as the gold standard.PubMed and Embase were searched in September 2021 for a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies assessing the diagnostic performance of invasive imaging-derived FFR. The primary outcomes were the summary sensitivity, specificity, correlation coefficients of each index.A total of 6572 records were initially identified and 49 studies were included in the final analysis (7010 lesions from 36 studies for Angio-FFR, 305 lesions from 5 studies for IVUS-FFR, and 667 lesions from 8 studies for OCT-FFR). Invasive imaging-derived FFR had a high diagnostic performance to detect functionally significant coronary lesions using conventional FFR as the gold standard [Angio-FFR, sensitivity 0.87 (95% CI 0.84-0.89), specificity 0.93 (95% CI 0.910.95); IVUS-FFR, sensitivity 0.90 (95% CI 0.84-0.94), specificity 0.95 (95% CI 0.90-0.98); OCT-FFR, sensitivity 0.85 (95% CI 0.78-0.91), specificity 0.93 (95% CI 0.89-0.95)]. The summary correlation coefficients of Angio-, IVUS-, and OCT-FFRs with wire-based FFR were 0.83 (95% CI 0.80-0.85), 0.85 (95% CI 0.79-0.91), and 0.80 (95% CI 0.74-0.86), respectively.This meta-analysis demonstrated that computational FFR derived from invasive coronary imaging has clinically acceptable diagnostic performances irrespective of modalities, supporting their applicability to clinical practice.

Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies provided conflicting results regarding the role of left ventricular (LV) function on outcomes after transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). The study aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the interplay between severe LV dysfunction and TEER outcomes. Multiple electronic databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, and CENTRAL, were searched to identify studies on TEER for secondary mitral regurgitation reporting outcomes stratified for LV ejection fraction30% and ≥30%. The prespecified primary end points were the composite of all-cause death or heart failure (HF) hospitalization and New York Heart Association (NYHA) class III/IV. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated by random-effects models. Multiple sensitivity analyses accounting for baseline characteristics and study design were applied. A total of 6 studies (1,957 patients) with 1 year or 2 years of follow-up were available. Severe LV dysfunction was associated with an increased risk of death or HF hospitalization (OR 1.71, 95% CI 1.14 to 2.57). Conversely, comparable rates of NYHA class III/IV (OR 1.06, 95% CI 0.82 to 1.38) or secondary end points (reinterventions, recurrence of significant secondary mitral regurgitation) were found regardless of the baseline LV function. Subgroup meta-analysis found no difference in the composite primary end point between patients with LV ejection fraction30% and ≥30% enrolled in RCTs. In conclusion, TEER seems to be associated with higher mortality or HF hospitalization rates in patients with severe LV dysfunction. However, RCTs found no differences between groups. No impact of LV function was found on the risk of NYHA class III/IV or other clinical outcomes.

The purpose of this study is to determine the government's strategy in the development of road infrastructure in Jember Regency, especially Jalan MH. Thamrin. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research, while the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. While the informants in this study were 5 people, namely the Head of Highways, Road Development/improvement Section, Road and Bridge Maintenance Section, Traffic Head Office and 3 people/road users. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data, data analysis techniques with data reduction, data presentation and verification. Validation of the data used is source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the Government's Strategy in Road Infrastructure Development in Jember Regency has not gone well, especially on Jalan MH. Thamrin because in terms of human resources must be further improved or more professional, efficiency and effectiveness have not run optimally because of the constraints that often occur, namely the delayed budget/cost so that the implementation of road construction or maintenance is still not optimal and the roads used are not suitable for use. Penempatan kerja merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting bagi seorang pegawai demi kelancaran suatu pekerjaan. Untuk mendapatakan pegawai yang berprestasi dalam bekerja, perusahaan harus lebih memperhatikan penempatan pegawai secara baik dan benar, hal ini dapat mempengaruhi tingkat prestasi yang dihasilkan sehingga dapat mempengaruhi tujuan yang ingin dicapai oleh suatu instansi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penempatan pegawai berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi kerja pegawai di PT. BPR Anugerahdharma Yuwana Jember. Dalam penelitian ini data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner terhadap 30 pegawai PT. BPR Anugerahdharma Yuwana Jember dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan teknik sample jenuh untuk pengambilan sample. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data skunder. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji Chi Square dengan menggunakan tabel C. Hasil yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa X2 hitung> X2 tabel (4,745 > 3,841) dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% sedang taraf ketidak percayaan yaitu 0,05 dan db = 1, dengan demikian (Ha) diterima dan (Ho) ditolak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa “ada pengaruh sistem penempatan pegawai terhadap prestasi kerja pegawai di PT. BPR Anugerahdharma Yuwana Jember.” Kata Kunci : Sistem Penempatan Pegawai, Prestasi Kerja.

Studies on soil erodibility in Malaysia were critically reviewed. Soil erodibility is the only factor of Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), which requires laboratory work and analysis complexity to estimate soil loss. Therefore, the main objective is to review soil erodibility studies to enhance understanding of Malaysia’s soil erosion impacts. These studies were summarized in their application, purpose, value, utilization method/approach, and study location. On the other hand, a summarization of what, why, where, and how the soil erodibility was used was analyzed. Therefore, the importance of soil erodibility as input for environmental management and conservation practices can be addressed. For a large-scale area, the soil erodibility factor will be analyzed as one of the USLE variables in estimating the erosion rate. As for a small-scale area, this factor is an adaption of the ROM Scale, which use to identify the slopes or riverbanks prone to landslides induced by erosion. However, the determination of this factor requires extensive artistry, time, and cost. These would be an obstacle to the holistic assessment of soil erosion impacts since only a little soil sampling will be analyzed. Therefore, the simplified version for the determination of soil erodibility without any requirement of laboratory works will be an extra mile, especially for an area that does not have any information on soil series.

The involvement of women with symptoms of drug abuse has had a negative impact not only on the country but provided great challenges towards achieving the goal of forming a prosperous family. The involvement of women in the scene of drug abuse is not solely due to the enjoyment of the drug itself but it is driven by other factors such as managing the body and maintaining beauty. The main objective of this research is to identify the factors of women's involvement in the phenomenon of drug abuse in Malaysia. This research is a qualitative research that has been conducted at the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN), Bachok, Kelantan. This study has involved in -depth interviews with 25 respondents consisting of female residents in PUSPEN, Bachok. The results obtained were analyzed manually using thematic analysis methods. The results of the study have identified that there are 11 factors to the involvement of women in the phenomenon of drug abuse. Among the factors are stress, boredom, excitement, wanting to try, challenged abstinence, the influence of friends, loneliness, beauty, being neglected and to make work. Keywords: Drug abuse; Women; Involvement factors Abstrak: Penglibatan wanita dengan gejala penyalahgunaan dadah telah memberikan kesan yang negatif bukan sahaja kepada negara tetapi memberikan cabaran besar ke arah pencapaian matlamat pembentukan keluarga sejahtera. Penglibatan wanita ke dalam kancah penyalahgunaan dadah bukanlah semata-mata disebabkan oleh kenikmatan dadah itu sendiri tetapi ianya didorong oleh faktor lain seperti menguruskan badan dan menjaga kecantikan. Objektif utama penyelidikan ini adalah mengenal pasti faktor penglibatan wanita dalam fenomena penyalahgunaan dadah di Malaysia. Penyelidikan ini merupakan penyelidikan berbentuk kualitatif yang telah dijalankan di Pusat Pemulihan Penagihan Narkotik (PUSPEN), Bachok, Kelantan. Kajian ini telah melibatkan temu bual mendalam terhadap 25 orang responden yang terdiri daripada penghuni wanita di PUSPEN, Bachok. Hasil kajian yang diperolehi telah dianalisis secara manual dengan menggunakan kaedah analisis tematik. Hasil dapatan kajian telah mengenal pasti bahawa terdapat 11 faktor kepada penglibatan wanita dalam fenomena penyalahgunaan dadah. Antara faktor tersebut adalah tekanan, kebosanan, keseronokan, ingin mencuba, pantang dicabar, pengaruh kawan, kesunyian, kecantikan, terabai dan untuk membuat kerja. To examine the trends in utilization and outcomes of tricuspid valve (TV) transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER).Surgery for isolated tricuspid regurgitation is associated with high morbidity and mortality and is rarely performed. TV TEER is an attractive alternative.The Nationwide Readmissions Database was queried using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, procedure code for TV TEER for years 2016-2019. The main outcomes were trends in utilization and in-hospital all-cause mortality.We identified 918 hospitalizations for TV TEER. There was an uptrend in its utilization from 13 cases in the first quarter of 2016 to 122 cases in the last quarter of 2019 (p trend 0.001). Concomitant mitral valve (MV) TEER was performed in 42.1% of admissions. The overall in-hospital mortality was 2.1%. Surgical TV replacement was needed in 1.1% of admissions; none of them died during the index hospitalization. Unplanned rehospitalizations were common at 30 days (15.7%); 38.2% of those were due to heart failure. There was no difference in in-hospital mortality between isolated TV TEER and combined MV and TV TEER (1.7% vs. 2.6%, p = 0.359). However, admissions receiving combined procedure had lower length of stay and urgent readmission rate.The current study showed that there was an increase in the utilization of TV TEER over 2016-2019 in the United States. TV TEER was associated with low rates of in-hospital mortality; however, the rate of urgent readmission remains high, mainly due to heart failure.

Coronavirus disease has caused a pandemic across the globe and it is now representing a significant threat to global health. Certainly, managing COVID-19 as compared to other type of disasters comes with a lot of unique challenges to many sectors including the educational sector, especially to higher education institutions (HEI). Since the announcement of Movement Control Orders by the government of Malaysia, most of the Malaysia HEI students, including UTHM, have left their campuses, but the problems wrought by COVID-19 have not. Not only students, UTHM employees from academic and supporting staff are also worried about their future for not continuously working as usual. The aim of the paper is to propose a disaster decision support system by combining UTHM Tracker and MOBILISE Digital System, named as MOBILISE-UTHM Resilient Tracker (RITTER) for UTHM students to build resilience during the COVID-19 outbreak and further. To provide Real-time Intelligence for Rapid Disaster Response combining UTHM Tracker and MOBILISE system for UTHM students during the COVID-19 outbreak in UTHM.

Diffuse malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (DMPM) and peritoneal carcinomatosis have similar computed tomography imaging features. Peritoneal carcinomatosis is a known metastatic site for many malignancies and particularly gastrointestinal tract and ovarian cancers. Also, DMPM can masquerade as an ovarian epithelial neoplasm, with very similar clinical presentation and an overlap in imaging findings. When no evident primary tumor is detected other than the peritoneal disease, primary malignant mesothelioma should be considered. Since accurate diagnosis is essential for treatment management, the gold standard in differentiating between these two entities lies in histological analysis. We report a case of DMPM that was initially misdiagnosed as an ovarian cancer, where the biopsy of a peritoneal nodule was able to correct and confirm the diagnosis of DMPM.
