Background: Due to the ease of quantifying mRNA expression in comparison with that of protein abundances, many studies have utilized it to infer protein product quantification. However, the mRNA expression values for a gene and its protein products are not known to have a strong relationship, because of the complex mechanisms required to regulate the amounts of protein levels, from translation to post-translational modifications. Methods: We have developed, in this study, models to predict protein levels from mRNA expression levels using the transcriptome and reverse phase protein arrays (RPPA)-based on protein levels in pancancer cell lines. When predicting the abundance of a protein expression, in addition to using RNA expression of the corresponding gene, we also used RNA expression levels of a particular set of other genes. By applying support vector regression, we have identified a 47-gene expression panel that contributes to the improved performance of the prediction, and its optimal subsets specific to each protein species. Result and Conclusion: Eventually, our final prediction models doubled the number of predictable protein expressions (r > 0.7). Due to the weaknesses of RPPA, our model had some limitations, however, we expect that these prediction models and the panel can be widely used in the future to infer protein abundances.

Background: Dermatophytes are the most common cause of fungal infections worldwide, having an estimated prevalence of 20% by the World Health Organization. Recent advances of sequencing and annotation of fungi explain the biodiversity evaluation and genomic identification of dermatophytes. Objective: This study's objective is to assess the mycobiome and microbiome in different dermatomycoses and identify their pathogenic organisms using fungal genomic analyses. Besides, we wanted to see the topographical biodiversity in dermatomycoses. Methods: Patients with dermatophyte infections confirmed by positive potassium peroxide examination were enrolled. Bacterial and fungal DNA were extracted from the skin sample. The internal transcribed spacer regions of rRNA gene and multiple variable regions in 16S rRNA gene were assessed to determine the fungal and bacterial community compositions. Results: We profiled both bacterial and fungal communities in the fungal-infected skin. Dermatophyte infection resulted in modified bacterial microbiome. The alpha diversity showed that the bacterial diversity was relatively low in tinea cruris patients compared to other dermatomycoses patients. Nonetheless, fungal diversity was not impacted by the body site but by the causative fungal organisms. Tinea pedis, tinea corporis, and tinea cruris due to Trichophyton species were similar as seen in principle component analysis. Alpha diversity demonstrates the tinea corporis on the leg had the most diverse fungal mycobiome and the scalp is the least diverse area. Conclusion: Sequencing and annotation of dermatophyte genomes of superficial skin infections will give sources that will help explain the virulence mechanisms of the dermatophyte. Understanding the pathogenesis of dermatophyte infections can help in generating effective therapeutics in the future.

Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) are widely employed in organic field-effect transistors to modify the surface energy, surface roughness, film growth kinetics, and electrical surface potential of the gate oxide to control the device's operating voltage. In this study, amino-functionalized SAM molecules are compared to pure alkylsilane SAMS in terms of their impact on the electrical properties of organic field-effect transistors, using the n-type polycrystalline small molecule semiconductor material N,N���-dioctyl-3,4,9,10-perylenedicarboximide (PTCDI-C8). In order to understand the electronic impact of the amino groups, the effect of both the number of amino-containing functional groups and the SAM molecular length are systematically studied. Though amino-functionalized SAM materials have been studied previously, this study is, for the first time, able to shed light on the nature of the doping effect that occurs when the gate oxide is treated with polar aminosilane materials. By a comprehensive theoretical study of the interface on the molecular level, it is shown that the observed shift in the threshold voltage is caused by free charges, which are attracted to the PTCDI-C8 and are stabilized there by protonated aminosilanes. This attraction and the voltage shift can be systematically tuned by varying the length of the neutral terminal chain of the aminosilane. �� 2021 The Authors. The domestic market of database in Korea is estimated to be over 3.663 trillion won. The data migration is getting to be more important along with the continuous growth of the database industry. g-CRM and private recommending function are examples of the service that can be given through coupling among customer database, product database, geographic information database, and others. The core infrastructure is also the database which is integrated, perfect, and reliable. There are not enough researches on efficient way of data migration and integrating process and investigation of migrated data though trends of database in IT environment as above. In connection with this issue, we have made a model for data migration on scientific and technological contents and suggest the result of data migration process adapting that model. In addition, we verified migration`s exhaustiveness, migration`s consistency, and migration`s coherence for investigation of migrated data and database. From the result, we conclude data migration based on proper model has a significant influence on the database consistency and the data values correctness and is essential to maintain high qualified database.

Glycogen debranching enzyme (GDE) in mammals and yeast exhibits α-1,4-transferase and α-1,6-glucosidase activities within a single polypeptide chain and facilitates the breakdown of glycogen by a bi-functional mechanism. Each enzymatic activity of GDE is suggested to be associated with distinct domains; α-1,4-glycosyltransferase activity with the N-terminal domain and α-1,6-glucosidase activity with the C-terminal domain. Here, we present the biochemical features of the GDE from Saccharomyces cerevisiae using the substrate glucose(n)-β-cyclodextrin (Gn-β-CD). The bacterially expressed and purified GDE N-terminal domain (aa 1–644) showed α-1,4-transferase activity on maltotetraose (G4) and G4-β-CD, yielding various lengths of (G)n. Surprisingly, the N-terminal domain also exhibited α-1,6-glucosidase activity against G1-β-CD and G4-β-CD, producing G1 and β-CD. Mutational analysis showed that residues D535 and E564 in the N-terminal domain are essential for the transferase activity but not for the glucosidase activity. These results indicate that the N-terminal domain (1–644) alone has both α-1,4-transferase and the α-1,6-glucosidase activities and suggest that the bi-functional activity in the N-domain may occur via one active site, as observed in some archaeal debranching enzymes.

Given modular forms $f$ and $g$ of weights $k$ and $\ell$, respectively, their Rankin-Cohen bracket $[f,g]^{(k, \ell)}_n$ corresponding to a nonnegative integer $n$ is a modular form of weight $k +\ell +2n$, and it is given as a linear combination of the products of the form $f^{(r)} g^{(n-r)}$ for $0 \leq r \leq n$. We use a correspondence between quasimodular forms and sequences of modular forms to express the Dirichlet series of a product of derivatives of modular forms as a linear combination of the Dirichlet series of Rankin-Cohen brackets.

The objective of this work is to demonstrate a simple Linear Superposition approach to creating an optimized illumination scheme from commonly available apertures (e.g. conventional, annular, quadrupole, dipole, etc.) that meet a variety of lithographic process metrics. Previous authors have demonstrated a variety of approaches to optimize the illumination for a given lithographic process. One common example is to use an optimized illumination for a specific pitch range and breaking the exposure into multiple reticles designed to print only nested or isolated features. A second example that has been widely demonstrated is to develop a single custom illuminator, which requires long lead times for delivery and a large capital investment. The true on-wafer performance of this custom illuminator can only be determined post-installation, providing limited ability to verify the simulation work a priori. The linear superposition method described here produces an optimal illumination scheme for a given photolithographic process. The success of this approach is due to the acceptably small nature of the electric field interaction terms between individual illumination modes allowing a multiple-exposure system to model a composite source. Images from optimized sub-components can be added to generate a composite image that is superior overall to any one process alone. After each exposure in a multiple exposure system there is a latent image that is only developable after a specific energy or dose level has been surpassed. It is the additive process of these latent images that creates the composite image. The composite image has the additive properties of the sub-components according to their dose fractions. Once the optimal process and dose split have been determined, it is straightforward to create a composite aperture to produce the same process by a single exposure. The composite aperture is the addition of the multiple sub-components with the relative transmission of each related to the illuminated surface area for systems designed to deliver uniform brightness. This approach produces superior pattern fidelity and an optimized common lithography process without the pitfalls of any one of the sub-component illumination modes.

The influence of die pad design and die attach adhesive on the resistance of a thin small out line package (TSOP) to reflow cracking has been investigated. Mechanisms of reflow cracking were studied using scanning acoustic tomography (SAT) and scanning electron micrography (SEM). For more precise analysis, computational calculations of stress were conducted. In the case of dimpled die pad, an experimental die adhesive with lower moisture absorption and higher adhesion strength showed excellent resistance to reflow cracking, resulting in crack-free performance in level I preconditioning tests. However,packages with the slot lead frame failed in level I preconditioning tests. The failure was due to the interfacial delamination between the bottom surface of die and the epoxy molding compound (EMC). SAT showed that the delamination initiated at the periphery of the slot during temperature cycling in preconditioning. During the subsequent soaking and IR reflow, moisture condensed at the delaminated interface generated the high vapour pressure that exceeded the fracture strength of the EMC. In other words, the interfacial integrity between the bottom surface of die and the molding compound is critical to the reflow cracking in packages with slot lead frame.

This study was performed to investigate the surface properties of electrochemically oxidized pure niobium by anodic oxide and hydrothermal treatment technique. Niobium specimens of in dimension were polished sequentially from emery paper. The surface of pure niobium sperimens was anodized in an electrolytic solution that was dissolved calcium and phosphate in water. The electrolytic voltage was set in the range of 250 V and the current density was . The specimen was hydrothermal treated in high-pressure steam at for 2 hours using an autoclave. And all specimens were immersed in the in the Hanks` solution nth pH 7.4 at for 30 days. The surface of specimen was characterized by surface roughness, scanning electron microscope(SEM), energy dispersion X-ray analysis(EDX), X-ray photoemission spectroscopy(XPS) test. The value of surface roughness was the highest in the anodized sample and . The results of the SEM observation show that oxide layers of the multi porosity in the anodized sample were piled up on another, and hydroxyapatite crystal was precipitate from the surface of the hydrothermal treated sample. In the XPS analysis, O, Nb, C peak and small amounts of N peak were found in the polished specimens while Ca and P peak in addition to O, Nb, C and peak were observed in the hydrothermal treated sample.
