The sensitivity of the system to parameters is equivalent to the sensitivity of the initial value. When we study the output transition process corresponding to different initial values, we find that there are three kinds of output transition process: chaotic-periodic transition process, periodic-chaotic-periodic transition process, periodic-chaotic transition process. A variable scale weak signal detection method is proposed to detect the same frequency weak signal. Analysis of output waveform characteristics of Duffing system, we give the quantitative relationship between the input signal to be measured and the output signal. Multi-form joint discriminant method for conventional Duffing chaotic systems can make the detection result easier to identify and more reliable, and reduce false alarm probability and false alarm probability.

Duffing chaotic systems are sensitive to certain signals and immune to noise, the properties of which demonstrate their potential application in weak signal detection. Determination of critical value for abrupt change of the Duffing system is important theory basis for Duffing oscillator system. A solving formula of the critical value of Duffing oscillator system is obtained by using harmonic balance analysis method. The simulation results show that the theoretical solution and numerical simulation are preferably coherence. Noise can cause the false alarm detection. Based on the sensitivity of damping ratio, the variable damping ratio Duffing oscillator detection method with variable amplitude coefficients is introduced to reduce the false alarm caused by noise. To overcome the shortcomings of the phase diagram discrimination method in quantitative analysis, a detection statistics identification method is proposed. The results of the experiment verify the feasibility and accuracy of the new approach.

Groundwater in a shallow aquifer used for potable supply in Qingdao, China, has been contaminated by nitrate by the excessive use of chemical fertilisers for vegetable production in the area. In this study, a representative site was selected to construct a non-continuous permeable reactive barrier (PRB) back-filled with a mixed reactive medium containing of zero-valent iron, activated carbon and medium- to coarse-grained sand. The PRB consists of alternate well and pillars and was constructed to provide a funnel and gate treatment system for two pumping wells. Groundwater monitoring during a trial of the system indicated that the concentrations of nitrate in monitoring wells within the treatment system rapidly declined (within a day) from about 120 mg/L to 20 mg/L. Reductions in nitrate concentrations were also observed in the pumping wells and downgradient monitoring wells, but changes in nitrate concentrations were moderated by mixing with contaminated groundwater. The PRB construction technique of using alternative wells and pillars combined with jet grouting was found to be effective for nitrate removal from groundwater at a small scale.

Li3BN2 is investigated for the first time as a transition metal free, high capacity cathode material for Li-ion batteries. It is shown that α-Li3BN2 can exhibit a specific capacity of 890 mA h g−1 with the charge storage mechanism associated with the valence state change of N ions in the BN2 anion. The specific capacity demonstrated in this study is the highest one ever reported in literature for an intercalation-type cathode material. Further, using the valence state change of N ions as a charge storage mechanism opens the door for designing additional high performance, transition metal free electrodes in the future.

A detection method based on variable damping ratio is proposed for the problem of Duffing chaotic oscillator system's false alarm detection generated by noise. The Duffing oscillator detection method has the ability of weak signal detection based on the sensitivity of driving force amplitude. But the noise can cause the false alarm detection. Based on the sensitivity of damping ratio, the Duffing oscillator detection method can detect different amplitude signals by adjusting damping ratio. Combining the advantages of the above two detection methods, the variable damping ratio Duffing oscillator detection method with variable amplitude coefficients (VDVA-Duffing) is introduced to reduce the false alarm caused by noise. To overcome the shortcomings of the phase diagram discrimination method in quantitative analysis, a Lyapunov exponent identification method with variable damping ratio is proposed. The results of the experiment verify the feasibility and accuracy of the new approach.

In order to analyze the influence of vortex-induced vibration on the strength and stability of marine drilling risers, a simplified analytical model was established and a method for calculating vortex-induced dynamic response was developed. A case study indicated that at primary resonance, first-order dynamic displacement response is greater than higher-order mode responses, but the influence of dynamic moment and shearing force of higher-order modes cannot be ignored. The natural frequency of risers decreased sharply with increasing length of the riser, but increased with increasing top tension. Various factors should be considered to avoid vortex-induced vibration in practical application, and the influence of vortex-induced vibration could be estimated by calculating the fatigue lifetime of riser.

To design an effective secure routing of trusted nodes in wireless sensor networks, quantum ant colony algorithm is applied to the design of large-scale wireless sensor network routing. The trustworthy network is used as the pheromone distribution strategy.Then, the pheromone is encoded by the quantum bit. The pheromone is updated by the quantum revolving door, and the energy consumption prediction is carried out to select the path. Finally, the trusted security routing algorithm of the wireless sensor network based on the global energy balance is realized. The quantum ant colony algorithm is superior to the traditional ant colony algorithm in algorithm convergence speed and global optimization. It can balance the energy consumption of the network node and can effectively resist the attacks such as Wormholes.It is very promising to apply the quantum ant colony algorithm to the routing algorithm of large scale wireless sensor networks.
