BackgroundQuantitative contrast-enhanced ultrasonography parameters are affected by various factors. We evaluated corrected quantitative contrast enhanced ultrasonography in differentiating benign adnexal tumors from malignant tumors.MethodsPatients with adnexal masses who underwent conventional and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography were included. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography parameters such as base intensity, arrival time, peak intensity, time to peak intensity, ascending slope, and descending slope were measured. Corrected (time to peak intensity − arrival time) mass/(time to peak intensity − arrival time) uterus and (peak intensity − base intensity) mass/(peak intensity − base intensity) uterus were calculated. Lesions were confirmed by pathologic examination of surgical specimens.ResultsThis study included 31 patients with 35 adnexal lesions including 20 (57.10%) benign and 15 (42.90%) malignant lesions. The corrected contrast-enhanced ultrasonography quantitative parameters in lesions were statistically different between malignant and benign groups (Pmass/(time to peak intensity − arrival time) uterus, ascending slope, and (peak intensity − base intensity) mass/(peak intensity − base intensity) uterus, and descending slope for differentiating malignant adnexal masses from benign tumors were 1.05 (area under curve: 0.93, PPPP=0.16), with sensitivity and specificity of 93.33% and 85.00%, 86.67% and 75.00%, 86.67% and 60.00%, and 54.55% and 66.67%, respectively.ConclusionsCorrected contrast-enhanced ultrasonography parameters provide practical differential diagnosis value of adnexal lesions with high reliability for sonologists.

Introduction: Recently, deep learning based methods have become an important approach to the accurate analysis of medical images. Methods and Materials: This paper provides a comprehensive survey of the most important deep learning based methods that have been developed for medical image processing. A number of important contributions made in the last five years are summarized and surveyed. Results: Specifically, deep learning-based algorithms developed for image segmentation, image classification, registration, object detection and other important problems are reviewed. Conclusion: In addition, an overview of challenges that currently exist in the field and potential directions for future research is provided at the end of the survey.

Background: Image segmentation is an important problem in both image processing and computer vision. Given an image, the goal of image segmentation is to label each pixel in the image such that the pixels with the same label collectively represent an object. Materials and Methods: Due to the inherent complexity and noise that may exist in images, developing an algorithm that can generate excellent segmentation results for an arbitrary image is still a challenging problem. In this paper, a new adaptive Hidden Markov Model is developed to describe the spatial and semantic relationships among pixels in an image. Based on this statistical model, image segmentation can be efficiently performed with an adaptive Viterbi algorithm in linear time. Results: The algorithm is unsupervised and does not require being used along with any other approach in image segmentation. Testing results on synthetic and real images show that this algorithm is able to achieve excellent segmentation results in both ordinary images and medical images. Conclusion: An implementation of this algorithm in MATLAB is freely available upon request.

Several completely stirred tank reactors (CSTRs) connected in series for corn stover anaerobic digestion was devised to obtain more methane yield and increase conversion rates. Liquid fraction of the digestate (LFD) was recirculated from the second-stage reactor to first-stage reactors to reuse LFD and improve system performance. LFD recirculation didn’t inhibit methane production of serial digestion, and methane and biogas production were increased by 2.3% and 10.8%, respectively. Moreover, LFD recirculation increased pH and alkalinity concentration (AC) and decreased volatile fatty acids (VFAs) concentrations and the ratio of VFAs to AC, which means a significant increase in system stability of anaerobic digestion (AD). Ammonia concentrations gradually increased with LFD recirculation, but was far lower than the inhibition concentration. Microbial analysis indicated that the recirculation increased the richness, but decreased the diversity of both bacterial and archaeal community in the first and second stage of serial system. More specifically, LFD recirculation enriched the dominant bacterial phyla (Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes), but had little influence on the dominated archaeal genus (Methanobacterium). The results showed that the recirculation of LFD during serial AD was technically suitable by minimizing both discharge of LFD and possible pollution related with discharging LFD.

The effects of different potassium and nitrogen pretreatment strategies on the anaerobic digestion (AD) performance of rice straw (RS) were investigated. KOH, NH3·H2O and KOH + NH3·H2O combined pretreatments were applied. The results showed that KOH + NH3·H2O combined pretreatment achieved the highest biomethane production and TS (TS: total solid) removal rate of 274 mL g VS−1 and 43.9%, which were 6.2–75.8% and 4.3–29.5% higher than that of single alkali pretreatments and untreated RS, respectively. The NH3·H2O groups improved the process stability, which maintained the NH3–N concentration in the range of 265–580 mg L−1. It was also found that Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes were the dominant bacterial at phyla level, and the populations of acetate methanogen (Methanosarcina and Methanosaeta) were enriched in the AD system by KOH + NH3·H2O pretreatment. Furthermore, the cost of pretreatment agents can be recovered by the increased digestate nutritional value due to the K and N remaining in the digestate after AD. The results indicated that the KOH + NH3·H2O combined pretreatment might be a promising method for efficient AD of straw in future industrial applications.

In this paper, we propose and analyze an abstract stabilized mixed finite element framework that can be applied to nonlinear incompressible elasticity problems. In the abstract stabilized framework, we prove that any mixed finite element method that satisfies the discrete inf-sup condition can be modified so that it is stable and optimal convergent as long as the mixed continuous problem is stable. Furthermore, we apply the abstract stabilized framework to nonlinear incompressible elasticity problems and present numerical experiments to verify the theoretical results.

Temperature has different effects on anaerobic digestion (AD) of various biomasses, which could bring out changes in microbial communities. The relationship between microbial community and methane production at 35 °C (R35), 38 °C (R38), 41 °C (R41), and 44 °C (R44) was analyzed during AD of corn stover (CS). The results showed that the daily biogas and methane production from R44 were 16.6%–42.4% and 16.2%–40.6% higher than yields from R35, R38 and R41, respectively. The abundance of Bacteroidetes in R35, R38 and R41 was relatively close (30.70%–39.36%), which was low in R44 (16.00%). The abundance of Firmicutes in R35 was 32.30%, however, Firmicutes was the most dominant phylum at R44 (66.58%). The abundance of Miscellaneous_Crenarchaeotic_Group and Euryarchaeota were 54.63 ± 6.47% and 44.43 ± 6.73% across all digesters. This research demonstrated that among all temperatures studied, 44 °C could enhance the conversion efficiency of the substrates to methane and be recommended for better conversion of CS in AD process.

The aggregation of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) into the polymer matrix and weak bactericidal property of MWCNT usually limit the application of MWCNT in the infection resistance. To solve the above problem, vancomycin hydrochloride modified multi-walled carbon nanotube (Van-MWCNT) via the chemical reaction of the MWCNT's inherent carboxyl group and the Van's amide group was well designed and synthesized. Then, Van-MWCNT was in-situ anchored onto thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) electrospun nanofibers (TPU/Van-MWCNT) by ultrasonication assistance to achieve the bactericidal property. The above preparation process was facile, non-toxic with the green solvent-water as medium. At the same time, it also effectively reduced the aggregation of Van-MWCNT into the electrospun nanofibers. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of Van-MWCNT against S. aureus was obviously lower than that of MWCNT. And the TPU/Van-MWCNT exhibited excellent antibacterial properties evaluated through the spread plate test and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). The as-prepared antibacterial TPU electrospun nanofibers have potential application in wound dressing. In order to elucidate the effect of flexible linker length on the catalytic efficiency of fusion proteins, two short flexible peptide linkers of various lengths were fused between Arabidopsis thaliana 4-coumaroyl-CoA ligase (4CL) and Polygonum cuspidatum stilbene synthase (STS) to generate fusion proteins 4CL-(GSG)n-STS (n ≤ 5) and 4CL-(GGGGS)n-STS (n ≤ 4). The fusion proteins were expressed in both Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and their bioactivities were tested in vitro and in vivo using purified proteins and engineered strains, respectively. The catalytic efficiency of the fusions decreased gradually with the increase of GSG or GGGGS repeats. In both engineered S. cerevisiae and E. coli in vivo experiments, the capacity of resveratrol production decreased gradually with increasing linker length. In silico analysis showed that the prediction of homology models of fusion proteins was consistent with the in vitro and in vivo results.

Raspberry ketone accounts for the characteristic aroma of the raspberry fruit. A bifunctional enzyme with both chalcone synthase (CHS) and benzalacetone synthase (BAS) activity is thought to play a crucial role in the synthesis of p-hydroxybenzalacetone, yet the in vitro enzymatic properties and reaction products of the CHS/BAS recombinant enzyme from raspberry have not been characterized. In this work, a type III polyketide synthase (PKS) gene (RinPKS1) and its corresponding cDNA were isolated from raspberry. Sequence and phylogenetic analyses demonstrated that RinPKS1 is a CHS. However, functional and enzymatic analyses showed that recombinant RinPKS1 is a bifunctional enzyme with both CHS and BAS activity. RinPKS1 showed some interesting characteristics: (1) no traces of bis-noryangonin and 4-coumaroyltriacetic acid lactone could be detected in the enzyme reaction mixture at different pH values; and (2) recombinant RinPKS1 overexpressed in Escherichia coli effectively yielded p-hydroxybenzalacetone as a dominant product at high pH; however, it effectively yielded naringenin as a dominant product at low pH. Furthermore, 4-coumaroyl-CoA and feruloyl-CoA were the only cinnamoyl-CoA derivatives accepted as starter substrates. RinPKS1 did not accept isobutyryl-CoA, isovaleryl-CoA or acetyl-CoA as substrates.

A facile, low-cost and time-saving method was proposed to prepare antibacterial polyurethane-g-polyethylene glycol (TPU-g-PEG) nanofiber composite by anchoring silver nanoparticles (AgNP) onto nanofibers via ultrasonication assistance. Firstly, antifouling PEG as bacteria-repelling component was chemically grafted onto TPU nanofibers through UV photo-graft polymerization to obtain TPU-g-PEG nanofibers; then AgNP as bactericidal component were immobilized onto the TPU-g-PEG nanofibers under the assistance of ultrasonication. Even if the nanofibers were immersed into PBS solution and incubated for 7 days, the released content of AgNP characterized by ICP-MS was 2.688 μg which was much lower than that of reference reported method. The TPU-g-PEG/Ag nanofiber composites exhibited excellent hemocompatibility, including suppression of platelet and red blood cell adhesion, the lower hemolysis ratios, and the higher blood clotting index. Importantly, the as-prepared nanofiber composites performed better antibacterial properties in vitro assays employing gram negative and positive strains, because of the bacterial resistance of the grafted PEG and the bactericidal effect of silver. Our approach has significant potential for the development of infection-resistant wound dressing.

The stability of the high-oleic characteristic of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) transformants obtained by silencing of microsomal Ω-6 desaturase (FAD2) was investigated when grown at low temperature. Results showed that oleic acid content in total leaf lipids, individual leaf lipids and total seed lipids of transformants decreased drastically at low temperature, with a corresponding increase of polyunsaturated fatty acid contents. The decrease of oleate was caused by neither the restoration of FAD2 transcripts nor the disappearance of small interference RNA. A significant increase of hexadecadienoic acid and hexadecatrienoic acid was observed in MGDG (monogalactosyldiacylglycerol) of transformants grown at lower temperature. Hexadecadienoic and hexadecatrienoic acids, typical fatty acids in MGDG, are produced through the activity of Ω-6 desaturase in plastids (FAD6). The significant increase of Hexadecadienoic and hexadecatrienoic acids suggested the involvement of FAD6 and/or other desaturases in the lipid desaturation of transgenic plants under lower temperature, leading to a significant decrease of oleate in plant cells. These results suggested that the activities of plastidic desaturases must be, at least partially, responsible for the instability of the high-oleic characteristic of FAD2-silenced plants.

The discovery of antibacterial functions for carbon nanotubes (CNT) has triggered great interest because of the excellent antibacterial properties of CNT. However, there are two obstacles, i.e., cell toxicity and CNT aggregation in a polymer matrix, which greatly limit the antibacterial application of CNT in medical devices. In this study, a facile, cost-effective, time-saving and environmentally friendly approach was proposed to impart the antibacterial property to thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) electrospun nanofibers with CNT. The ultrasonication technique was explored to in situ anchor the CNT onto the TPU electrospun nanofibers to achieve the bactericidal property. This effectively circumvented the aggregation of CNT when the TPU/CNT electrospun nanofibers were prepared. In addition, the anchor preparation was efficient taking only 10 min to complete and it was also non-toxic because the green solvent ethanol was used as the dispersion solvent. PEG was chemically grafted onto the TPU (TPU-g-PEG) electrospun nanofibers through UV photo-graft polymerization. Although CNT exhibit a good bactericidal property, they could be toxic to human cells. Incorporation of PEG could not only effectively reduce the toxicity of CNT to the human cells but also decrease bacterial attachment. The TPU-g-PEG/CNT nanofibers exhibited excellent hemocompatibility, including suppression of red blood cell adhesion, and lower hemolysis ratios. Importantly, the as-prepared nanofibers had better antibacterial properties due to the bacterial resistance of the grafted PEG and the bactericidal effect of CNT. Our facile approach has significant potential for the infection-resistant wound dressing.

The gravity anomalies data has been introduced as a supplementary information to the Inertial Navigation Systems (INSs) to limit its inherent errors accumulated over time. The article mainly focuses on the improvement of iterative closest contour point(ICCP) algorithm commonly used in the gravity-aided inertial navigation system(GAINS). Dealing with the noise of gravimeter measurement data, the algorithm is generalized in the aspect of the accuracy and robustness by a kind of fuzzy pattern recognition technique which gives each sample point a special weight based on its noise size. To reduce the consumption of data sampling time, a simple point matching strategy is proposed. When the system gets a new point, it would be the last one of the next matching line while the first point of the current matching line would be abandoned. The simulation proves that the generalization of the algorithm could achieve high accuracy and timeliness to meet the requirement of AUVs navigation.

The effect of ammonia pretreatment on the anaerobic digestibility of corn stover was investigated. Corn stover with different moisture contents (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%) was pretreated with three concentrations of ammonia (2%, 4%, and 6%) at 35 ± 2 °C for the following batch digestion. Results showed that the reagent of 4% ammonia and 70% moisture content could achieve the highest anaerobic digestibility. In comparison with the untreated, the time needed to produce 90% of the maximum digester gas production (T90) shortened from 52 d to 37 d. The total biogas production and the unit volatile solids (VS) biogas yield were 20,740 ml and 427.1 ml respectively, both 26.70% higher than the untreated. It was found that the digesters with high moisture contents of 70% and 90% were more stable and had shorter acidification periods relative to the low moisture contents of 30% and 50%. The decreases in cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin indicated that ammonia pretreatment could destroy the lignocellulose (LCH) structure and furthermore enhance the biogas production. Following anaerobic digestion, 80.6% of cellulose and 68.52% of hemicelluloses were consumed where there was 4% ammonia and 70% moisture content, indicating why these conditions produced the highest level of biogas.

Several completely stirred tank reactors (CSTR) connected in series for anaerobic digestion of corn stover were investigated in laboratory scale. Serial anaerobic digestion systems operated at a total HRT of 40 days, and distribution of HRT are 10 + 30 days (HRT10 + 30 d), 20 + 20 days (HRT20 + 20 d), and 30 + 10 days (HRT30 + 10 d) were compared to a conventional one-step CSTR at the same HRT of 40 d. The results showed that in HRT10 + 30 d serial system, the process became very unstable at organic load of 50 gTS·L−1. The HRT20 + 20 d and HRT30 + 10 d serial systems improved methane production by 8.3–14.6% compared to the one-step system in all loads of 50, 70, 90 gTS·L−1. The conversion rates of total solid, cellulose, and hemicellulose were increased in serial anaerobic digestion systems compared to single system. The serial systems showed more stable process performance in high organic load. HRT30 + 10 d system showed the best biogas production and conversions among all systems.

Coatings containing Fe-Si or Si particles were electrodeposited on 3.0%(mass fraction) Si steel sheets. The surface morphology, the cross-section and the silicon content of coating have been investigated, respectively. It was found that the number of particles on the coating surface and cross-section significantly decreased with increasing silicon content in the applied particles, leading to a decrease of the silicon content of coatings. About 10.2% silicon content of coatings deposited with Fe-30%Si particles can be obtained, whereas that for Si particles was only 2.9% at a particle concentration of 100 g/L and current density of 2 A/dm2. This is mainly attributed to the conductivity of applied particles. High conductivity can promote the co-deposition of the particles. With increasing silicon content in the particles, their conductivity decreased sharply, resulting in the decrease of silicon content of coatings. Present work may initiate a new method to modify the particle content of the composite coatings via changing the conductivity of the particles during the composite electrodeposition. In this paper, a possible mechanism was proposed to explain the phenomena.

This paper analyzes the optimal choice of allowance allocation method for the emissions trading system to be established under China's carbon intensity target. Compared with emission-based allocation, output-based allocation could help to realize the industry's optimal welfare in a closed trading system and thus is more appropriate for the emissions trading system to be established in China. However, the output-based allocation does face some challenges in the implementation process. An ex-post adjustment approach is proposed to ensure that the allocation rate equals to the carbon intensity target and a conversion factor approach proposed to convert different types of products into the same measure.

This paper analyzed the process of the LCD and the industrial structure in the typical countries to reveal the Causality Relationship between LCD and Industrial Structure. First, most of the developed countries industry have experienced the high-carbon period. When the economy evolved to a certain extent, the base level of the LCD increased. And In developing countries, especially in China, the tertiary industry shared a much smaller part in the whole economy system comparing with that of the developed countries. Then, Based on the output of regression analysis, the appreciable correlation between the LCD and the industrial structure was found. Finally, the results of Granger causality tests lead to the conclusion that the tertiary industry of China is the Granger cause of the LCD within 98 percent confidence intervals. It suggests that the industry structure should be adjusted before the LCD, especially the development of tertiary industry.

With the innovation of infrared imaging technology, the performance evaluation of the infrared imaging system plays an indispensable role in the general technology. Therefore, the establishment of a comprehensive, scientific and reasonable performance evaluation model is a prerequisite for accurately predicting the performance of the imaging system, and is also an effective technology to design and develop the high performance imaging system. According to previous studies, in this paper we analyze the key problems that need to be solved urgently in the current research and the factors limiting the development of performance evaluation techniques. The main researches of this paper are as follows. 1) Through improving the deficiencies of the inherent physical effect evaluation methods, the accuracy and reliability of the performance evaluation model are enhanced. 2) In order to meet the needs of performance optimization design, the performance parameters provided by product design and production requirements must be selected correctly to achieve an organic combination of performance evaluation model and imaging system.The NVThermIP model, a widely used performance evaluation model, is slightly inadequate for guiding the optimization of the parameters of an infrared system. A more scientific and reasonable performance evaluation model is proposed in this paper, in which the contrast-threshold function of the system in the NVThermIP model is corrected by noise equivalent temperature difference based on the theory of the human-eye noise. By quantitatively analyzing the typical physical effects on infrared imaging system, the modeling theory and process of NVThermIP model are introduced in detail. The simulation results give a visual representation of evaluating the performance of an infrared imaging system. The limitations of the NVThermIP model used to guide the design and production of the system and the deficiencies of the early theoretical basis for system optimization design are analyzed. The noise equivalent temperature difference is introduced to revise and perfect the NVThermIP model combined with the theory of human eye noise. The accuracy of the newly proposed model is verified by two experiments. Experimental results show that the corrected model is more accurate in system prediction and can be used to guide the design of a new system.

The coals of rich in cracks have low strength, large deformation and difficult to support, obtain triaxial compression test parameters by RMT-150B rock mechanics and concrete mechanical testing machine, the micro-structure of coals damage photos on coals samples fracture obtained by scanning electron microscope observations. Use the fissures information extraction software developed from MATLAB platform. This paper put forward a quantitative research idea to extract fracture morphology and the two-dimensional geometry of the coals micro-structure based on image enhancement and regional growing algorithm. At the same time, make a statistical analysis of coals samples triaxial compression fracture azimuth, width, length and other information. We obtain coals's strength and elastic modulus is lower and the presence of a large number of initial damage, with significant anisotropy and in homogeneity.

To investigate the protective effect of retinoic acid (RA) on hyperoxic lung injury and the role of RA as a modulator on mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), gastation 21 d Sprague-Dawley (SD) fetuses (term = 22 d) were delivered by hysterotomy. Within 12-24 h of birth, premature rat pups were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=12 each): air-exposed control group (group I); hyperoxia-exposed group (group II), air-exposed plus RA group (group III), hyperoxia-exposed plus RA group (group IV). Group I, III were kept in room air, and group II, IV were placed in 85 % oxygen. The pups in groups III and IV were intraperitoneally injected with RA (500 microg/kg every day). All lung tissues of premature rat pups were collected at the 4th day after birth. Terminal transferase d-UTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining was used for the detection of cell apoptosis. The expression of PCNA was immunohistochemically detected. Western blot analysis was employed for the determination of phosphorylated and total nonphosphorylated ERKs, JNKs or p38. Our results showed that lungs from the pups exposed to hyperoxia for 4 d exhibited TUNEL-positive nuclei increased markedly throughout the parenchyma (P0.01), and decreased significantly after RA treatment (P0.01). The index of PCNA-positive cells was significantly decreased (P0.01), and was significantly increased by RA treatment (P0.01). The air-space size was significantly enlarged, secondary crests were markedly decreased in hyperoxia-exposed animals. RA treatment improved lung air spaces and secondary crests in air-exposed pups, but had no effect on hyperoxia-exposure pups. Western blotting showed that the amounts of JNK, p38 and ERK proteins in hyperoxia-exposure or RA-treated lung tissues were same as those in untreated lung tissues (P0.05), whereas activation of these MAPKs was markedly altered by hyperoxia and RA. After hyperoxia exposure, p-ERK1/2, p-JNK1/2 and p-p38 were dramatically increased (P0.01), whereas p-JNK1/2 and p-p38 were markedly declined and p-ERK1/2 was further elevated by RA treatment (P0.01). It is concluded that RA could decrease cell apoptosis and stimulate cell proliferation under hyperoxic condition. The protection of RA on hyperoxia-induced lung injury was related to the regulation of MAP kinase activation.

The effect of ammonia pretreatment on the anaerobic digestion performance of rice straw was investigated. The rice straw was pretreated with four different moisture contents (30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%) and three concentrations of ammonia (2%, 4%, and 6%). The results showed that the anaerobic digestion achieved best performance for the rice straw pretreated by ammonia concentration of 4% and moisture content of 70%, and biogas yield achieved the highest value (396.92 mL•g-1 total solid), which was 21.9% higher than that of the untreated rice straw. Higher moisture was recommended as it could increase system stability, shorten anaerobic digestion time, and increase biogas production. The composition analyses indicated that ammonia pretreatment could effectively destroy the chemical structure of lignocellulose, and partially decompose cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Cellulose and hemicellulose were converted by 79.2% and 63.2%, respectively, at optimal ammonia amount and moisture content. The ammonia pretreatment proved to be a simple and effective methods to improve the anaerobic digestion performance of rice straw.

T cells play an important role in the onset and progression of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and the biases in T cell receptor beta variable (TRBV) region families and complementarity determining region three (CDR3) composition in SLE patients and mouse models have been widely reported. However, the relationship between the composition and variation in the TCR β-chain CDR3 repertoire and SLE has not been established. Here, we compared and analyzed the thymic and splenic TCR β-chain CDR3 mRNA sequences by Roche 454 high-throughput sequencing from MRL/lpr mice at different ages. Our results indicate that diversity in the TCR CDR3 repertoire from the thymus and spleen from MRL/lpr mouse was significantly decreased with increased age (disease progression) and showed a bias in usage of common TRBV and TRBJ families. The N1 region insertions in the highly expressed CDR3s significantly increased with disease progression. This study provides a new perspective for studying SLE with progression of disease in clonal level of TCR, which may provide a basis for studying the mechanism of the MRL/lpr autoreactive T cells response and tailor an individualized treatment targeting these T cells.

For the attitude control of nonlinear flexible structure, a special control method is proposed that combines inverse neural networks feed-forward control with output feedback control. The conventional inverse system method requests all states feedback. With intensification of population aging and rise in elderly dependency ratio, the demand for endowment security becomes higher and higher, particularly in rural areas. Taking Shaanxi Province as an example, the authors selected people older than 65 in 18 natural villages in north Shaanxi, south Shaanxi and Guanzhong. With the aid of survey data and related official statistical data, they made an evaluation of current situation of the rural endowment security in Shaanxi Province. Results indicate that home-based endowment is the major endowment method of rural elderly, but such method is influenced by family’s economic support ability and children’s support willingness, thus facing big demand gap. On the basis of analyzing gap problem, the authors recommended that government should increase financial and policy supports, optimize management and monitoring, actively develop non-government organizations, and promote socialization of rural endowment service.

A distributed integrated design Environment for solid rocket motor was developed to meet the integration and distribution requirement of solid rocket motor design process. In this paper, the project, system capabilities, technologies and a case were presented. The scheme for distributed Solid Rocke t Motor conceptual design environment using J2EE was proposed , the four layer architecture of the environment was built, the content of each layer was analyzed, the functional framework layer was discussed in detail, and software realization based on J2EE was presented. The environment realizes the application, information and process integration of design process, and can support design optimization and collaborative design of distributed engineers. Finally, a case design of Solid Rocket Motor with finocyl grain based on the environment demonstrate s that the environment can effectively improve design efficiency and quality , and dramatically reduce design cycle time.
