Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) are X-linked recessive disorders whose genes are 4.47 Mb apart within Xp21.1. A combination of both diseases is rare with only five cases reported in the literature where it is known as Xp21.1 “contiguous gene deletion syndrome”. We describe a male neonate who presented with sepsis at 19 days of age. The diagnosis of CGD with DMD was established through copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq) with an extensive 7.5 Mb deletion of Xp21.2-Xp11.4 of the proband. One of his elder sisters and his mother are carriers. The deletion includes six known genes: glycerol kinase (GK), dystrophin (DMD), cilia- and flagella-associated protein 47 (CFAP47), gp91 (CYBB), Kell antigen (XK), and retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator (RPGR). Laboratory assays revealed an increased creatine kinase (CK) level, decreased gp91 expression, and a positive nitroblue tetrazolium test. Due to the extensive gene deletion and the poor prognosis, the family determined to pursue conservative management without further laboratory workup. The patient passed away from a fulminant infection at the age of three-month at a local medical facility. To the best of our knowledge, this case of Xp21.1 contiguous gene deletion syndrome represents the most extensive deletion of genes in this region ever reported. A literature review of similar cases is presented.

This paper proposes a hybrid synthesis method for multi-exposure image fusion taken by hand-held cameras. Motions either due to the shaky camera or caused by dynamic scenes should be compensated before any content fusion. Any misalignment can easily cause blurring/ghosting artifacts in the fused result. Our hybrid method can deal with such motions and maintain the exposure information of each input effectively. In particular, the proposed method first applies optical flow for a coarse registration, which performs well with complex non-rigid motion but produces deformations at regions with missing correspondences. The absence of correspondences is due to the occlusions of scene parallax or the moving contents. To correct such error registration, we segment images into superpixels and identify problematic alignments based on each superpixel, which is further aligned by PatchMatch. The method combines the efficiency of optical flow and the accuracy of PatchMatch. After PatchMatch correction, we obtain a fully aligned image stack that facilitates a high-quality fusion that is free from blurring/ghosting artifacts. We compare our method with existing fusion algorithms on various challenging examples, including the static/dynamic, the indoor/outdoor and the daytime/nighttime scenes. Experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our method.

This study aimed to develop an educational program to improve the public’s knowledge and awareness about the use of medicines. Pre- and post-intervention studies were conducted to assess the impact of an educational intervention program on the use of medicines among the general public. Adult people over 18 years old who were using medicines at the time of the study or in the past month prior to the study were included. A convenience sampling method was used to invite the people to participate in a health education program in their household area in the State of Penang. This study showed that there was inadequate knowledge about some aspects of using medicines, with a mean score of 5.66 ± 2.39 out of 10 points. In addition, most of the participants have poor awareness about the role of pharmacists in drug management, with a mean score of 2.40 ± 1.73 out of 5 points. The mean score of knowledge and awareness was significantly increased after the educational intervention to 8.64 ± 1.65 and 4.12 ± 0.97, respectively. Educational intervention was useful, especially when it was followed by effective patient counselling to improve the knowledge and awareness about the use of medicines among medicine users.

Purpose This paper aims to develop a theoretical method to analyze the rotation accuracy of rotating machinery with multi-support structures. The method effectively considers the geometric errors and assembly deformation of parts. Design/methodology/approach A method composed of matrix and FEA methods is proposed to do the analysis. The deviation propagation analysis results and external loads are set as boundary conditions of the model which is built with Timoshenko beam elements to calculate the spatial pose of the rotor. The calculation is performed repeatedly as the rotation angle increased to get the rotation trajectories of concerned nodes, and further evaluation is done to get the rotation accuracy. Additionally, to get more reliable results, the bearing motion errors and stiffness are analyzed by a static model considering manufacturing errors of parts. Findings The feasibility of the proposed method is verified through a case study of a high-precision spindle. The method reasonably predicts the rotation accuracy of the spindle. Originality/value For rotating machinery with multi-support structures, the paper proposes a modeling method to predict the rotation accuracy, simultaneously considering geometric errors and assembly deformation of parts. This would improve the accuracy of tolerance analysis.

Strict requirements for concentricity of the multistage high pressure rotor of an aero-engine are employed to guarantee performances such as vibration. Tedious and time-wasting trial assembly by adjusting the installation angles of stages is needed to meet the requirements due to the lack of effective analysis methods. Furthermore, there is no quick way to find out where the problem is and how to repair the parts when the installation-angle-adjusting method fails. This article focuses on a solution to optimize the installation angle of each stage and to make repair decisions in the assembly process. The run-out data are processed by least square method to get the spatial positions and attitudes of flanges and a deviation propagation analysis model is built by virtue of homogeneous coordinate transformation theory to predict the accumulative errors of each stage. The eccentricities of stages are evaluated with reference to the common axis and the installation angles of stages are optimized by minimizing the sum of eccentricities. Sensitivities of eccentricity, eccentric angle and parallelism of each stage are analyzed and repair decisions for parts are made to meet more strict requirements. An example of a three-stage subassembly is presented to demonstrate the solution.

Point cloud registration is a key task in many computational fields. Previous correspondence matching based methods require the inputs to have distinctive geometric structures to fit a 3D rigid transformation according to point-wise sparse feature matches. However, the accuracy of transformation heavily relies on the quality of extracted features, which are prone to errors with respect to partiality and noise. In addition, they can not utilize the geometric knowledge of all the overlapping regions. On the other hand, previous global feature based approaches can utilize the entire point cloud for the registration, however they ignore the negative effect of non-overlapping points when aggregating global features. In this paper, we present OMNet, a global feature based iterative network for partial-to-partial point cloud registration. We learn overlapping masks to reject non-overlapping regions, which converts the partial-to-partial registration to the registration of the same shape. Moreover, the previously used data is sampled only once from the CAD models for each object, resulting in the same point clouds for the source and reference. We propose a more practical manner of data generation where a CAD model is sampled twice for the source and reference, avoiding the previously prevalent over-fitting issue. Experimental results show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance compared to traditional and deep learning based methods. The performance of high-speed and high-precision machine tool spindle is quite sensitive to the variation of system parameters. How to accurately predict the influences of key parameters on spindle characteristics is important for designers to achieve required machining accuracy. In the assembly of spindle system, the interference fit, which is always used to connect bearing and shaft, affects the performances of spindle system directly. Therefore, the quantitative investigation on the effects of interference fit on spindle characteristics are of great practical significance. In this paper, the effect mechanism of interference fit on spindle bearing system is explored and used to modify the analytical spindle bearing model. Firstly, the internal geometric relationships among the assembly bearing parts and shaft is analyzed under the influence of assembly deformation and centrifugal expansion. Then, the static and dynamic characteristics of spindle bearing system, including the bearing stiffness, maximum loosing speed, spindle stiffness as well as modal characteristics, are predicted under different interference fit values based on the modified spindle bearing model. The results show that the interference fit will stiffen the bearing and spindle system and result in obvious increments on bearing stiffness, spindle stiffness as well as the natural frequencies. A specially designed spindle test rig is built to verify the simulation results, and the variation of spindle stiffness and natural frequencies are measured under different interference fit values. The maximum error of the system natural frequencies between the analytical results and the experimental data is 7.36%, which confirmed the accuracy of the proposed analytical model.

In this paper, the properties and operation of the virtual-space-vector pulse-width modulation (PWM) for a three-level neutral-point-clamped inverter with unbalanced dc-links are studied. By quantitatively analyzing the characteristics of the revised space-vector diagram (SVD) with unbalanced dc-links, the defined virtual SVD (VSVD) for the unbalanced case is theoretically proven identical to the VSVD of the conventional virtual-space-vector PWM (VSVPWM) strategy with balanced dc-links. The well-developed and fast-processing methods to calculate the durations of the nearest three virtual vectors for the conventional VSVPWM can be directly utilized. In addition, a control strategy to realize the asymmetric control of the dc-link voltages with VSVPWM is also studied, and this method can adjust the unbalancing degree with a high accuracy for any modulation indexes and load power factors. Simulated and experimental results are given to validate the effectiveness.

The dc links of the three-level neutral-point-clamped (3L-NPC) converter are needed to work in imbalanced state in some special fields, and a hybrid pulsewidth modulation (PWM) strategy in this case is studied in this paper. The proposed strategy is a combination of the space-vector PWM and carrier-based modulation (CBM) method. The characteristic of the revised space-vector diagram (RSVD) with unbalanced dc links is studied from a new perspective, and based on it, a novel sector distribution method is proposed to identify the utilized switching sequences. Instead of calculating the durations of the adopted space vectors in the asymmetrical and complicated RSVD, the proposed strategy adopts the CBM with well-calculated injected zero-sequence voltage (IZSV) to produce the pulses directly. The IZSV calculating methods to realize the asymmetric control of dc-link voltages for both the continuous and discontinuous PWM are studied in detail. Simulated and experimental results are given to validate the effectiveness.

Traditional low-order regional Markov Random Fields (MRF)model is difficult to accurately describe the global connectivity of complex natural images and often leads to the over-smoothing of the segmentation results. To solve this problem, a high-order MRF image segmentation model with robust local spatial information is proposed. Firstly, the proposed model introduces the local spatial relationship of the image by using the Hamming distance between the neighborhood pixels in the local region, then establishes a weighted Gaussian mixture likelihood feature between the label space and the pixel intensity field, which provides the local spatial consistency constraint; Secondly, the spatial global constraint relationship of the far away distance is introduced based on the Robust $\mathrm{P}^{n}$ model, and the regional label consistency constraint of the MRF image segmentation model is established. Finally, based on Bayesian theory, a high-order MRF energy model with robust local spatial information for image segmentation is proposed, and the proposed model is optimized by Gibbs sampling algorithm. Compared with Traditional low-order regional MRF model, experimental result shows that the proposed model can provide a better segmentation.

In this clinical study, we have compared routine diagnostic dose131I scan andTcO4-99mthyroid scintigraphy with therapeutic dose131I imaging for accurate thyroid remnant estimation after total thyroidectomy. We conducted a retrospective review of the patients undergoing total thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and subsequently receiving radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment to ablate remnant thyroid tissue. All patients had therapeutic dose RAI whole body scan, which was compared with that of diagnostic dose RAI,TcO4-99mthyroid scan, and ultrasound examination. We concluded that therapeutic dose RAI scan reveals some extent thyroid remnant in all DTC patients following total thyroidectomy. Diagnostic RAI scan is much superior to ultrasound andTcO4-99mthyroid scan for the postoperative estimation of thyroid remnant. Ultrasound andTcO4-99mthyroid scan provide little information for thyroid remnant estimation and, therefore, would not replace diagnostic RAI scan.

Four Cr doped diamond-like carbon (a-C:Cr) films were deposited by the synergy of pulse cathode arc and direct-current cathode arc, and Cr content was adjusted by changing the pulse frequency. The microstructure, composition, surface morphology, the hydrophobicity and corrosion resistance of the films were investigated by Raman, XPS, EDS, AFM, contact angle measurements and potentiodynamic polarization tests, respectively. It is shown that a-C10 Hz:Cr has the best comprehensive performance, and its corrosion resistance is the most prominent.

Public buildings have large indoor personnel flow changes and complex backgrounds. Due to the large lag of air-conditioning systems, such systems in public buildings have difficulty adjusting to changes in indoor loads, resulting in untimely system control, poor thermal control of buildings' internal environments, and energy waste. This paper proposes a real-time estimation method of building space personnel load and an air-conditioning predictive control strategy by integrating image information. First, deep learning image detection technology is applied to establish an end-to-end building space personnel load dynamic estimation model based on a convolutional neural network. The model is employed to realize the real-time detection of the number of indoor personnel and estimate changes personnel load. Second, to propose air-conditioning prediction control strategies introduce personnel occupancy load control factors, predict the indoor temperature change trend caused by load changes, provide compensation for the control system adjustment amount, improve the indoor environment quality problems caused by large lag under conventional control methods, adjust the cooling energy supply of air conditioning systems, and reduce energy consumption. Finally, the simulation experiment involving a student activity center and a small office building is carried out and the results are analyzed. Simulation results show that: the predictive control strategy proposed in this paper can better maintain environmental stability in a building, can respond more rapidly and has greater energy-saving potential.

Under the long-term effects of electrical load and nature environment factors, the insulators' insulation properties will gradually decline, and the low and zero resistance insulators will appear in the insulator strings. As the existence of low and zero resistance insulators could cause great danger to the safe operation of power system. The influence of low and zero resistance insulators on the voltage distribution of insulator strings for 500kV transmission lines is analyzed in this paper. To obtain the influences that the low and zero resistance insulators exerts on voltage distribution of insulator strings, the circuit model of 30 pieces of insulator strings for 500kV transmission line is simulated and analyzed by MATLAB. The simulation results show that there is no direct correspondence between the two methods to judge the insulators with low and zero value. If the insulation resistance of low and zero resistance insulators decrease to 30Mn, its own distribution voltage drops about 50%.

The study aims to obtain the effect of forming parameters on multi-stage cold forging with 20MnTiB steel by performing a series of physical simulation and then verified by producing experiment of high-strength bolt. Physical simulation was performed through Gleeble 3500 compression tests; the mainly forming parameters such as strain rate (100∼101), deformation degree (20∼80 %), and number of stages were discussed. The results showed that the strain rate has little effect on the microstructure and the mechanical property. However, the number of stages and the deformation degree have an appreciable effect on the sample microstructure, of which the pearlite grain is fined and ferrite grain is elongated as fiber. The adiabatic thermal temperature rises from 20 to 142 °C with a 60 % deformation degree at a strain rate of 10 s−1. Finally, the deformation properties of bolts can compare with the physical simulation results.

Although terrestrial CO2 concentrations [CO2] are not expected to reach 1000 μmol mol(-1) (or ppm) for many decades, CO2 levels in closed systems such as growth chambers and greenhouses can easily exceed this concentration. CO2 levels in life support systems (LSS) in space can exceed 10,000 ppm (1 %). In order to understand how photosynthesis in C4 plants may respond to elevated CO2, it is necessary to determine if leaves of closed artificial ecosystem grown plants have a fully developed C4 photosynthetic apparatus, and whether or not photosynthesis in these leaves is more responsive to elevated [CO2] than leaves of C3 plants. To address this issue, we evaluated the response of gas exchange, water use efficiency, and photosynthetic efficiency of PSII by soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr., 'Heihe35') of a typical C3 plant and maize (Zea mays L., 'Susheng') of C4 plant under four CO2 concentrations (500, 1000, 3000, and 5000 ppm), which were grown under controlled environmental conditions of Lunar Palace 1. The results showed that photosynthetic pigment by the C3 plants of soybean was more sensitive to elevated [CO2] below 3000 ppm than the C4 plants of maize. Elevated [CO2] to 1000 ppm induced a higher initial photosynthetic rate, while super-elevated [CO2] appeared to negate such initial growth promotion for C3 plants. The C4 plant had the highest ETR, φPSII, and qP under 500-3000 ppm [CO2], but then decreased substantially at 5000 ppm [CO2] for both species. Therefore, photosynthetic down-regulation and a decrease in photosynthetic electron transport occurred by both species in response to super-elevated [CO2] at 3000 and 5000 ppm. Accordingly, plants can be selected for and adapt to the efficient use of elevated CO2 concentration in LSS.

Raise an effective way to optimize the air distribution of the data center such as sealing the cold passageway. Through the use of ADU can solve the local overheating inside the equipment cabinet. The use of the modularization UPS, the high-voltage direct current technology and harmonic suppression can improve the efficiency of the power supply system.

Effects of galvanizing simulation parameters on microstructures and mechanical properties of Ti-microalloyed cold rolled hot-dip galvanizing DP980 steel were investigated in this study by optical microscopy (OM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and tensile test. Moreover, the precipitation behavior of Ti in the experimental steel was also studied. The results show that, as the heating temperature increases, the tensile strength of experimental galvanizing DP980 steel decreases while the yield ratio and elongation of the steel are enhanced. The microstructures of experimental steels exhibit typical dual phase steel character and the volume fractions of MA islands are almost 30%. In addition, lots of nano-sized TiC precipitates can be found in the ferrite grains.

The electron beam evaporation deposition method was employed to prepare scandium oxide(Sc2O3) films with substrate temperatures varying from 50 to 350 ℃. A spectrophotometer, a glancing incidence X-ray diffraction spectrometer and a WYKO optical profilograph were employed to investigate the optical, microstructure properties and surface roughness of the Sc2O3 films. The refractive index and the extinction coefficient were calculated from the transmittance and reflectance spectra with the help of the Essential Macleod. Since bearing configuration has significant influence on the spindle modal characteristics which can reflect the dynamic performance of spindle system in machine tools, so it would be of extraordinary importance and necessity to analyze the spindle modal characteristics through simulation and experiment when it comes to designing spindle system. In this paper, the number and span of bearings, the spacer of bearing set and the overhang of spindle are considered as the main designing parameters of the spindle system. Firstly, a coupled spindle-bearing model is established considering the radial deformation of the bearing inner ring caused by interference fits of spindle assembly, as well as the centrifugal and thermal deformations. Based on the model, the modal characteristics of different bearing configurations are analyzed. Secondly, a spindle test bench is designed and constructed. Finally, modal characteristics of the spindle system are tested with different bearing configurations. From the simulation and experimental results, it’s indicated that there is a correlation between the natural frequency and the number of bearings. The using of short spacer inside the bearing set can increase spindle natural frequency slightly. Besides, the first natural frequency of the spindle system rises with the bearing span, whereas the second one tends to decrease. And shortening the overhang of spindle can also increase its natural frequencies, which can be taken into account in spindle design.Copyright © 2014 by ASME

When there are several concurrently executing applications in Chip-Multiprocessor (CMP), it's a problem to allocate cache resource between these applications. Cache partitioning is commonly used to solve this problem. Most of the existing partitioning schemes is to reduce the miss rate of concurrently executing applications, but the optimal miss rate does not mean the best performance. This paper presents a Multi-Time Sharing (MTS) scheme based on Optimal Memory Time cache Partitioning (OMTP) to improve the overall performance and the fairness metrics of concurrently executing applications. the MTS scheme uses dynamic weighted values to implement multiple time sharing. the experiment results show that OMTP has higher miss rate compared with utility-based cache partitioning (UCP) but has better IPC throughput and weighted speedup, the MTS scheme used in OMTP can improve both fairness and performance.

In this paper, we investigate the convergence properties of the Fletcher-Reeves algorithm. Under conditions weaker than those in a paper of M. Al-Baali, we get the global convergence of the Fletcher-Reeves algorithm with a low-accuracy inexact linesearch.

Loopy belief propagation (LBP) algorithm over Pairwise-connected Markov random fields (MRF) has become widely used for low-level vision problems. However, Pairwise MRFs are often insufficient to capture more expressive priors, and LBP is still extremely slow for application on MRFs with large discrete label space. To solve these problems, a new segmentation algorithm combining ant colony and loopy belief propagation is proposed in this paper. Based on Pairwise MRF, a local interaction region MRF model is constructed. Then ant colony algorithm (ACA) is used to search local optimal label in every local region and to prune the label space for each pixel. Finally the loopy belief propagation algorithm is applied to transfer the local optimal result to adjacent region. This process is iterated until convergence. Compared with some previous algorithms, the proposed algorithm generates more accurate segmentation results and also more speed, because the proposed algorithm utilizes the local optimal result as the propagated messages between nodes in MRF, and uses adaptive label pruning scheme to reduce the number of labels for each pixel, Experimental results on a wide variety of images have verified the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The Ce-doped (Gd, Y)3Al5O12 transparent ceramics with Gd3+ content of 0 to 80 mol% were fabricated using a solid-state sintering method under vacuum. Their phase compositions and structure parameters were checked by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Optical and luminescence characteristics were investigated and thoroughly discussed by transmittance, absorption spectra and luminescence examination. The Gd3+ ions were found of great importance to the band structure of crystal and energy state of Ce3+ in the garnet ceramics. Balanced Gd3+ admixture into the YAG lattice provided excellent color coordinates and CRI for the phosphor for warm white light illumination. This study provides an efficient approach to tailor the luminescence of the garnet phosphors.

According to the application requirements and the design problems of the UAV(Unmanned air vehicle) data recorder, this paper puts forward a solid multi-channel highspeed dynamic airborne data recorder. Based on the design scheme of the data recorder which takes the SOPC(System On Programmable Chip) as the hardware platform and the NAND FLASH as the storage medium, the system can reduce its size and weight effectively while ensure the performance of impact-resistance and data capacity, so that it particularly applies to the minor UAV. Adopting the FPGA hardware logic to implement the multi-channel parallel data acquisition such as pluse data acquisition and serial data acquisition, the system improves the whole system in speed and efficiency. Because of taking the UFFS as the FLASH file system, the memory demands are greatly reduced as well as the startup speed is improved. At the mean time, the accidental data loss caused by power failure is well avoided, so that the reliability and the stability are greatly improved. Through performing tests, the results show that the system can run smoothly and all the demands of the tests are met.

When there are several application running on Chip-Multiprocessors (CMPs), it is a problem to allocate the on-chip cache capacities between these competing applications. Cache partitioning is commonly used to solve this problem. Existing cache partitioning schemes either dedicate to the shared design or partition the last level cache depending on limited memory information. This paper presents Private Cache Partitioning, a low-overhead, runtime mechanism that partitions all of the private low level caches which are organized as a large shared cache by a distributed directory. The experiment results show that PCP reduces the overall missrate of competing applications and improves the throughput as well as the weighted speedup.

Polygonal approximation is an important issue in pattern recognition and image processing. A new approach for polygonal approximation of shape contours based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed. The goal of feature preservation is proposed definitely at first time. Two combined objective measures are also proposed, which are simple to be calculated and do good work on different types of shape contours. Moreover, special policies for initialization and genetic operators are proposed to improve the quality of optimization. The experimental results confirmed that the proposed combined measures for feature preservation are better than ISSE (integral summed square error) which is most frequently used by other approaches for optimization of polygonal approximation.

为研究碳纤维(C f )加入量对复合材料性能的影响, 本研究以Y 2 O 3 为烧结助剂, 采用热压烧结技术制备了Cf/Si3N4复合材料, 其中碳纤维加入量为0、2wt%和5wt%。选用乙醇作分散介质，通过球磨工艺可有效分散短切碳纤维。研究结果表明: 碳纤维在复合材料中分散均匀, 且材料中的晶粒在垂直于热压压力的方向呈现一定取向排列。高温烧结过程中, 碳纤维与Si 3 N 4 或其表面的SiO 2 层发生反应, 生成SiC中间层。适量碳纤维加入有助于提高复合材料的热导性能。当C f 加入量为2wt%时，Cf/Si3N4的热导率较高, 为45.8 W/(m·K)；而不添加Cf的样品, 其热导率为37.1 W/(m·K)。加入C f 后, C f /Si 3 N 4 的断裂韧性有小幅提高, 维氏硬度在16.6~16.8 GPa范围内变化。

Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive intervention to the prognosis of depressive and/or anxiety symptoms in future. To provide a reasonable and reliable intervention instrument to treat ACS patients. Methods To select acute coronary syndrome with anxious and/or depressive symptoms patients 268 examples, all patients were divided into the intervention group 134 examples and the control group 134 examples. On the base of conventional therapy, Patients of intervention group received comprehensive intervention (health education, exercise, psychological relaxation et al ). Before the intervention and after follow-up test the HADS, to follow up with the patients to observe the dynamic change of emotion. The state of anxiety and depression in all patients were analysed according to psychological test scale. Results 1. Total 256 example patient include the intervention group (n=130) and the control group (n=126), after giving the treatment has carried on at least two times evaluation. Because loses the revisit 6 examples, died 4 examples, uncompliant patients 6 examples, completed finally experiments 240 examples. 2. Comparing two group9s emotion in the two group patients respectively at baseline and after intervention. The HADS scores carried on the difference examination separately: Before the comprehensive intervention, the intervention group9s HAD-a, HAD-d, HAD-t are 8.92±3.72, 8.73±3.41, 17.68±3.72 respectively, the control group9s scores are 8.67±3.13, 8.52±3.06, 17.47±3.27 respectively, p>0.05; After intervention, for the invention group, HAD-a, HAD-d, HAD-t are 5.82±1.41, 6.84±1.86, 11.93±1.59; The control group9s are 6.76±1.31, 7.28±1.58, 13.62±1.36 respectively, p Conclusions For the intervention group patients, comprehensive intervention (Coronary heart disease treatment, Health education, psychological counseling, Relaxation training, taking exercise et al ) may obviously alleviate the anxiety and/or depressive symptoms in ACS patients, it is useful to the prognosis improvement of QOL. 2. On the basis of medication for ACS, for the control group patients, the anxiety and/or depressive symptom has been alleviated to some extent.

Objective Anxiety is thought to be a common symptom in patient s who suffer from acute coronary syndrome (ACS). This study aims to present a general data about the anxiety symptoms in Chinese ACS patients, and evaluate the impact of anxiety symptoms on their quality of life (QOL). Method We enrolled 454 Chinese patient s with ACS from ShangHai, whose baseline data were obtained within 1 week after hospital admission. The subscale of Chinese version of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-A) and SF-36 were used to assess anxiety and their QOL, respectively. All the participant s were divided into 2 main groups: HADa ≥6 (n=247) and HADa 0.05). The participants from non-anxiety group had a better QOL than anxiety group (p Conclusion The study confirmed the western notion that anxiety is a common psychosocial problem, which also applies to Chinese patient s diagnosed with ACS. Anxious ACS patients have rather worse quality of life.

Two fundamental convergence theorems are given for nonlinear conjugate gradient methods only under the descent condition. As a result, methods related to the Fletcher-Reeves algorithm still converge for parameters in a slightly wider range, in particular, for a parameter in its upper bound. For methods related to the Polak-Ribiere algorithm, it is shown that some negative values of the conjugate parameters do not prevent convergence. If the objective function is convex, some convergence results hold for the Hestenes-Stiefel algorithm.
