The available evidence on seasonal changes in work capacity and anaerobic metabolism is very heterogeneous. Animal studies contribute to better understanding of adaptive reactions of the body to various influences and can serve as a basis for the development of physiotherapeutic, pharmacological and other methods to increase adaptive capabilities of the human body to hard working conditions and environmental situations. The aim was to study the characteristics of the five-days working capacity dynamics serum lactate concentration in laboratory rats across seasons. Methods. Eighty male Wistar rats (220-250g) comprised the sample. Measurements were taken in the middle of each season. The working capacity of animals until complete fatigue was assessed in a swimming test at the same time of a day. Results. Working capacity in rats in the swimming test had the highest values in the summer (75.4 s) and in the spring (78 s), while it was the lowest in the autumn (47.8 s). The highest concentrations of lactate we, on the contrary, observed in the in the autumn. Conclusions. Our results suggest that the working capacity in rats is the best in the spring and in the summer, worse in the winter and the worst in the autumn. One may speculate that the genetically determined seasonal pattern of metabolic processes in the skeletal muscle of rats may determines seasonality in their working capacity.

We report here studies on the effects of the peptide glycylproline (Gly-Pro) on measures of reactivity and adaptive potential on stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system with carbachol in conditions of sequential exposure to the combined actions of three stress factors: immobilization, surgery, and an injection procedure. Sequential combination of surgery (application of a ligature to the pylorus of the stomach), immobilization, and the procedure of injecting physiological saline on the background of carbachol allowed four types of response in rats to be identified. These variants were characterized by different combinations of levels of corticosterone and different leukocyte subpopulations. All response variants were accompanied by development of stress, as indicated by the adaptation intensity index. The most profound stress reactions were seen in animals after immobilization and surgery and the combination of injection of physiological saline and carbachol. By modulating the parasympathetic compartment of the autonomic nervous system and, probably, a direct influence on the adrenals, Gly-Pro altered the corticosterone content and different leukocyte subpopulations and the adaptation intensity index in multicomponent stress. When peptide was given simultaneously with carbachol, it appeared to act via the resistance (counteraction) pathway of adaption, while when given in advance, before carbachol, it operated via the tolerance (stamina, endurance) pathway.

A theoretical and experimental study was performed of a frequency dependence of the amplitude-phase characteristics of the vestibular nerve stimulation signal and its changes during passage from the stimulating electrodes to the end of the vestibular nerve. To assess the influence of leakage currents on the change in the stimulating current pulse, a physico-mathematical model of the vestibular organ and electrical processes occurring in its tissues was developed on the basis of experimental data on electrophysical and anatomical characteristics of the vestibular labyrinth tissues by the example of a guinea pig. The calculations and measurements of the frequency dependence of the amplitude-phase characteristics of the stimulating signal at a recording electrode located in the Scarp’s ganglion are performed. It is established that the influence of leakage currents on the signal amplitude at the recording electrode is significant in the entire frequency range considered. Compensation of the influence of leakage currents will improve the stimulating signal quality and increase the transfer function of the vestibular implant.

The aimof the study was to investigate vegetative maintenance of the activity and state of systemic hemodynamics in patients with a first time, non-traumatic epileptic seizure during a tilt table test (TTT).Materials and methods. TTT was performed in 42 patients with absence of seizures and 78 patients having experienced unprovoked seizures. A control group included 70 patients with non-epileptic seizures with transient loss of consciousness (TLC), defined as syncope. The control group included 38 people without episodes of loss of consciousness in their medical history. The parameters of hemodynamics and heart rate variability (HRV) were investigated at all stages of the test.Results. In patients with absence of seizures, initial sympathicotonia was recorded along with a decrease in ergotropic activation in orthostasis. In patients with unprovoked seizures, a hypersympathicotonic response to the orthostatic test was detected in combination with impaired vagal overshoot in the clinostatic phase of the test. In patients with TLC, evidence of vegetative insufficiency in the vertical position was identified, with the indicators going back to the background values in the horizontal position.Conclusion. The revealed features of vegetative regulation in patients with absence of seizures and unprovoked seizures will allow to differentiate the mechanism of the first-time epileptic seizure more accurately.

A Mathematical Wave Analysis was conducted to study the frequency-temporal characteristics of sleep spindles in idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) with variable phenotypes in adults. In resistant generalized tonic-clonic seizures (GTCS), the maximum duration of the stationary part of the sleep spindle in the 10–12Hz frequency band in the frontal and parietal regions was greater with Juvenile Absence Epilepsy compared with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy and IGE with isolated GTCS. In patients with GTCS remission who took antiepileptic drugs (AED’s) in the anamnesis, the frequency-time characteristics of the sleep spindle were not different. In the entire group, the maximum duration of the stationary part of the sleep spindles in patients with IGE with a variable phenotype receiving AED’s was significantly less than in patients who stopped receiving AED’s. The revealed differences in the duration of the stationary part of the sleep spindles are due to various pathogenetic mechanisms underlying the different types of generalized seizures in adults, and can be used to refine the subtype of the IGE and evaluate the efficacy of the AED’s.

Experimental data on electric signal transmission through tissues of the vestibular organ of a guinea pig are presented. Stimulating electrodes are implanted in three ampullae of semicircular canals to which an alternating voltage of 170 mV is applied. The receiving electrode is implanted in the termination of vestibular nerves. The impedance of the vestibular organ tissues has been measured depending on the stimulating signal frequency. It is shown that the amplitude phase characteristics of the resulting signal at the termination of the vestibular nerves depend on the position of the stimulating electrodes and on the stimulating signal frequency. The presence of conductive disturbance currents and their influence on the resulting signal waveforms are established. A method for eliminating the influence of the conductive disturbance currents by means of application of additional electric pulses with a certain phase shift to the stimulating electrodes is suggested.

In order to develop methods and means of maintaining normal human functioning under conditions of desynchronizes, the effect of mexidol on the level of corticosterone in the blood serum and the state of the cells of the beam zone of the adrenal cortex of rats after light or dark deprivation and physical activity to a state of fatigue.The experiments were performed on 7 groups of rats (10 animals each) in the spring. The model of physical activity is the method of forced swimming of rats until exhaustion in its own modification. For the induction of experimental desynchronizes, the animals of the experimental groups were kept around the clock for 10 days with artificial bright light of 150 LX or a complete darkening of 2-3 LX. Mexidol was administered intramuscularly at a dose of 10 mg/kg animal 30 minutes before the swimming test. Control animals under similar conditions were administered 0.9% sodium chloride solution. The level of corticosterone in the serum was determined using enzyme immunoassay. The measurements were carried out on a programmable photometer for STAR FAX 303 PLUS microsamples (USA). Histological analysis of the adrenal glands was carried out according to standard methods. Microscopy of preparations, imaging and measurements were carried out using an Axio Lab A1 microscope, an AxioCamERc 5s camera and ZEN 2012 software («Carl Zeiss Microscopy», Germany). Statistical processing of the results was carried out using standard parametric and non-parametric methods, depending on the nature of the distributions.Mexidol under combined successive stress loads - desynchronizes and physical activity - demonstrated anti-stress properties not only at the level of corticosterone in the blood serum of rats, but also at the level of adrenal glands. The severity of this effect of the drug depended on the number of stress loads (isolated physical or shown in conditions of desynchronizes), the phase of stress and the nature of deprivation. Under natural lighting conditions and after light deprivation, when animals were in the anxiety phase of varying severity, the drug worked more reliably than after dark deprivation in conditions of developing depletion. Nevertheless, even in the latter case, he showed himself as a means of preventing exhaustion in animals and the breakdown of adaptation.Изучение влияния мексидола на уровень кортикостерона в сыворотке крови и состояние клеток пучковой зоны коры надпочечников крыс после световой или темновой депривации и физической нагрузки до состояния утомления.Эксперименты выполнены на 7 группах крыс (по 10 особей) весной. Моделью физической нагрузки выбрана методика в собственной модификации принудительного плавания крыс до полного утомления. Для индукции экспериментального десинхроноза животные опытных групп в течение 10 сут круглосуточно находились при искусственном ярком освещении 150 LX либо полном затемнении 2—3 LX. Мексидол вводили внутримышечно в дозе 10 мг/кг животного за 30 мин до плавательного теста. Контрольным животным в аналогичных условиях вводили 0,9% раствор натрия хлорида. Уровень кортикостерона в сыворотке крови определяли с помощью иммуноферментного анализа. Измерения проводили на программируемом фотометре для микрострипов STAR FAX 303 PLUS (США). Гистологический анализ надпочечников проводили по стандартным методикам. Микроскопию препаратов, изготовление снимков и измерения осуществляли с использованием системы из микроскопа AxioLab A1, камеры AxioCamERc 5s и программного обеспечения ZEN 2012 («Carl Zeiss Microscopy», Германия). Статистически результаты обрабатывали стандартными параметрическими и непараметрическими методами в зависимости от характера распределений.Мексидол в условиях сочетанных, последовательно предъявляемых стрессорных нагрузок — десинхроноза и физической нагрузки — продемонстрировал противострессорные свойства на уровне не только содержания гормона кортикостерона в сыворотке крови крыс, но и адренокортикоцитов пучковой зоны надпочечников. Выраженность этого воздействия препарата зависела от количества стрессорных нагрузок (изолированная физическая или предъявляемая в условиях десинхроноза), фазы стресса и характера депривации. При естественных условиях освещения и после световой депривации, когда животные находились в фазе тревоги разной степени выраженности, препарат срабатывал надежнее, чем после темновой депривации в условиях развивающегося истощения. Тем не менее даже в последнем случае он показал себя как средство, предупреждающее истощение и срыв адаптации у животных.

The study substantiated the possibility of using peat humic acids for improving endurance during extreme physical exertion. The mature outbred Wistar rats weighing 200-250 g (n=40) were subjected to forced swim test until complete exhaustion. The humic acids (1%) were administered intragastrically (0.5 ml/100 g body weight) 30 min prior to the test. Chronic administration of peat humic acids for 5 days increased physical capacity and endurance of rats in exhaustive forced swim test without the changes in serum lactate and corticosterone.

Registered interictal epileptiform discharges in adults with idiopathic generalized epilepsy with variable phenotype (261 people) during standard functional tests (hyperventilation and intermittent photic stimulation) before falling asleep, after awakening and during non-REM sleep. When detecting interictal epileptiform discharges during non-REM sleep, patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy were more likely to have interictal epileptiform discharges recorded during photostimulation and hyperventilation in both periods (after awakening and before falling asleep), which may be due to the pathophysiological features of this subtype of the idiopathic generalized epilepsy with a variable phenotype. When detecting interictal epileptiform discharges during nonREM sleep, patients with juvenile absence epilepsy with absences and generalized tonic-clonic seizures were more likely to have interictal epileptiform discharges recorded during hyperventilation in both periods (after awakening and before falling asleep). In patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy with isolated generalized tonic-clonic seizures the relationship between the recording of interictal epileptiform discharges in non-REM sleep and during functional tests was not detected. The obtained data demonstrate the features of interictal epileptiform discharges distribution in sleep and wake periods with idiopathic generalized epilepsy with a variable phenotype in adults and can be used in the extended Electroencephalography monitoring to refine the idiopathic generalized epilepsy subtype and evaluate the effectiveness of antiepileptic therapy.

Aim. As is known, various stressful loads and their combination lead to unequal direction and degree of psychological and emotional instability. In this regard, one of the pressing issues becomes regulation and correction of psycho-emotional conditions of the person in the complicated conditions of activity, such as athletes during training and competition. To develop appropriate stress-corrective programs should their experimental validation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the behavioral activity of rats in the “open field” after dark or light deprivation and physical fatigue. Materials and methods. The experimental study was performed on the 40 adult male rats “Wistar”. The experimental groups for 10 days were kept in an artificial bright light (150 lx) or darkness (2–3 lx) for the induction of desynchronozes. Method of forced swimming until complete exhaustion was chosen for the model of physical fatigue. The animals in all groups evaluated behavioral activity in the “open field” in daylight conditions after 24 h after swim test. Results. It was established that in the control group in the terms of natural lighting day after 5 days of daily physical activity occurred depression of the active-search behavior in the “open field”. It was expressed in reducing the number of crossed squares and vertical struts in comparison to intact animals receiving no load. In the groups of animals, which kept in a dark or light deprivation until the presentation of the swim test there was an increase in passive-defensive behavior in the “open field”, which was reflected in an increase in acts of grooming and defecation.

To study of efficacy and safety of mexidol used as intravenous infusion for 14 days, followed by per os treatment with mexidol FORTE 250 for 60 days in patients with chronic brain ischemia (CHM) complicated with arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis.The mexidol group included 27 patients (24 women and 3 men) with CHM I-II gr and the combination of arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis who received intravenous infusions of mexidol (500 mg once daily) within 14 days, with the subsequent per os treatment with mexidol FORTE 250 in a daily dose of 750 mg (1 tablet 3 times a day) for 60 days. The comparison group consisted of 30 patients (22 women and 8 men) with CHM I-II gr, comparable in age, nature of risk factors and expression of neurological manifestations. Patients in both groups received basic medications to treat their risk factors. Motor activity (Tinetti test), cognitive functions (MoCa test), anxiety and depression (Hamilton anxiety and depression scale), clinical condition (General Clinical Impression scale) were assessed.Inclusion of mexidol (500 mg iv infusion once a day within 14 days with the subsequent oral administration of 750 mg (1 tablet 3 times a day) for 60 days) in standard therapy of arterial hypertension with atherosclerosis and chronic brain ischemia is expedient. The results show greater clinical efficacy and sufficient safety of such combination therapy. By the end of therapy (day 74), patients in the mexidol group have a reliable improvement in motor activity, cognitive function and psychoemotional sphere, as well as a decrease in fatigue and neurological manifestations compared with the comparison group.Изучение эффективности и безопасности последовательной терапии препаратами Мексидол (инъекции внутривенно капельно в течение 14 дней — фаза насыщения) и Мексидол ФОРТЕ 250 (таблетки в течение 60 дней — фаза максимизации терапевтического эффекта) у больных с хронической ишемией мозга (ХИМ) на фоне артериальной гипертензии и атеросклероза.В группе терапии препаратом Мексидол наблюдали 27 больных (24 женщины и 3 мужчины) с ХИМ I—II ст. на фоне сочетания артериальной гипертензии и атеросклероза, получающих лечение препаратом Мексидол внутривенно капельно (500 мг 1 раз в сутки) в течение 14 дней с последующим приемом Мексидол ФОРТЕ 250 внутрь в суточной дозе 750 мг (1 таблетка 3 раза в сутки) в течение 60 дней. Группу сравнения составили 30 пациентов (22 женщины и 8 мужчин) с ХИМ I—II ст., сопоставимых по возрасту, характеру факторов риска и выраженности неврологических проявлений. Пациенты обеих групп получали базисную терапию для коррекции имеющихся у них факторов риска. Оценивали состояние двигательной активности (тест Тинетти), когнитивных функций (MoCA тест), тревоги и депрессии (шкала депрессии Гамильтона), шкалу общего клинического впечатления.Включение в стандартную терапию ХИМ препаратов Мексидол и Мексидол ФОРТЕ 250 в виде последовательной длительной терапии является целесообразным. Полученные результаты свидетельствуют о большей клинической эффективности и достаточной безопасности сочетанной терапии. К окончанию исследования (на 74-е сутки) у пациентов группы терапии препаратом Мексидол отмечалось достоверное улучшение двигательной активности, когнитивных функций эмоциональной сферы, а также уменьшение утомляемости и неврологических проявлений при сопоставлении с группой сравнения.

The content of serotonin in the blood serum of rats with light desynchronizes and physical fatigue in different seasons was investigated ву enzyme immunoassay. It was found that long-term light deprivation and exercise to complete depletion lowered levels of serotonin in the blood serum of rats in the winter and increased that of the spring season. At the same time, a dark deprivation and physical activity had no effect on this indicator.

Phase interactions between electroencephalography (EEG) rhythms in the perception of short time intervals were investigated in 27 male and 29 female university students. The study has shown that tight phase relationships are most frequently observed between gammarhythm and other EEG rhythms or between different gamma frequencies. We determined that the discussed phase interactions were susceptible to the effect of factors, such as “gender,” “activity type,” and “activity stage.” Links were also detected between these phase interactions and the levels of intelligence, extraversion, neuroticism, the profile of the lateral organization of the brain, and the accuracy of time perception.

We propose a new approach to optimization of electrical stimulation of the vestibular nerve and improving the transfer function of vestibular implant. A mathematical model of the vestibular organ is developed based on its anatomy, the model premises, 3D-analysis of MRI and CT images, and mathematical description of physical processes underlying propagation of alternating electric current across the tissues of vestibular labyrinth. This approach was tested in vitro on the rat vestibular apparatus and had been examined anatomically prior to the development of its mathematical model and equivalent electrical circuit. The experimental and theoretical values of changes of the gain-phase characteristics of vestibular tissues in relation to location of the reference electrode obtained in this study can be used to optimize the electrical stimulation of vestibular nerve.

We investigated the predictors of increased seizures’ frequency among women with various forms of idiopathic generalized epilepsies (IGE) in the gestational and postgravid period. We observed 41 patients with Idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) before, during and after pregnancy. During the period of observation EEG was recorded in the states of relaxed and active awakeness and sleeping. Patients, who have stopped to take anticonvulsants before pregnancy, have had increased frequency of seizures, more than1 ina year, with interictal epileptiform discharges in a state of relaxed and active awakeness. Increased seizures after pregnancy was observed in patients with interictal epileptiform discharges during sleep. The results can be used during the preparation of pregravid women with IGE.

To study an effect of mexidol on the performance of rats after light or dark deprivations in the swimming test with a load and to evaluate the state of glycolytic processes under these conditions.The experiment was carried out in the spring on 70 Wistar male rats. Three groups (30 animals) were in natural light conditions. One of them was not affected. The other two groups were subjected to exercise and 30 minutes before it either saline or mexidol was administered intramuscularly. Four other groups (40 animals) for 10 days were under conditions of dark or light deprivation prior to the presentation of physical activity and received either saline or mexidol before the test after deprivation was canceled. A forced swimming test with an additional load, which was presented to animals every day at 10-11 am for five days in a row, was used as a model of physical activity. The level of lactate was determined by colorimetric method.Mexidol increased the performance of rats in the swimming test, both under natural lighting conditions and with light desynchronization, contributed to the formation of cross adaptation to physical activity under natural lighting conditions and prolonged this state under conditions of light deprivation, did not change the content of lactate in the blood of rats after exercise in natural lighting conditions and dark deprivation and prevented its rise after light deprivation.Цель исследования. Изучение влияния мексидола на динамику работоспособности крыс после световой или темновой деприваций на модели плавательного теста с нагрузкой, а также оценка состояния гликолитических процессов в этих условиях. Материал и методы. Эксперимент выполнен весной на 70 крысах-самцах линии Wistar. Три группы (30 животных) находились в естественных условиях освещения. Одна группа не подвергалась никаким воздействиям. Двум другим группам предъявлялась физическая нагрузка и за 30 мин до нее вводился внутримышечно либо физиологический раствор, либо мексидол. Четыре другие группы (40 особей) 10 сут находились в условиях темновой или световой депривации до предъявления физической нагрузки и получали либо физиологический раствор, либо мексидол перед тестом после отмены деприваций. Моделью физической нагрузки выбрана методика принудительного плавания крыс с дополнительным грузом ежедневно в течение 5 сут. В сыворотке крови определяли уровень лактата колориметрическим методом. Результаты и заключение. Мексидол повышал работоспособность крыс в плавательном тесте в естественных условиях освещения и при световых десинхронозах, способствовал формированию перекрестной адаптации к физической нагрузке в естественных условиях освещения и пролонгировал это состояние в условиях десинхронозов, не изменял содержание лактата в крови крыс после физической нагрузки в естественных условиях освещения и темновой депривации и предупреждал его подъем после световой депривации.

In experiments using cluster analysis of the behavioral activity of rats in the "open field" test, the animals were divided into three groups with different types of behavior and response to the first presentation of the test: (i) active-search (all the studied reactions are expressed), (ii) intermediate, and (iii) passive-defensive (lowest level of activity). Differences in the indices of carbacholine-stimulated gastric secretion in rats of different groups were manifested by greater secretion of the stomach and lower digestive capacity of gastric juice observed in rats with active-search and intermediate types of behavior in the "open field" test in contrast to rats with passive-defensive type. Combined administration of cholinomimetic and glycyl-proline (Gly-Pro) lead to decreased proteolytic activity of gastric juice in rats with active-search behavior in the "open field" test, decreased volume of gastric secretion in rats with an intermediate type of behavior, and increased volume of juice and its decreased digestive ability in rats with passive-defensive behavior.

The purpose of the presented work was the establishment of a character of modifying influence of ionizing radiation on damages of neurons of internal nuclear and ganglionic layers of a retina caused by light. The investigation revealed that changes of neurons of the internal nuclear and ganglionic layers after X-ray, light (200 lk, the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 14th, 30th days) and combined influence have similar nature, but differ in a degree of expression and manifest by reactive and destructive changes of organelles. Associated neurons showed relative resistance to investigated influences in comparison with multi-polar neurons of ganglionic layer. Combined ionizing radiation and light cause substantial growth of number of hyper-chrome and picnotic multi-polar neurons of ganglionic layer of a retina. Synergic effect is mostly expressed on 7-th-14-th day of the experiment and results in progressing growth of the number of hyper chrome multi-polar neurons.

Using electron microscopy and morphometric analysis studied the structural changes of neurons and radial glia of the retina of white mongrel male rats when exposed to light (6000 lux) in the dynamics after 1, 7, 14 and 30 days. The proposed mathematical model has allowed a high degree of probability to assess the state of a pool of cells of the retina at specific times throughout the experiment. The most striking structures of the retina are neurosensory cells, and neurons of theinner retinal layers are less sensitive to these influences.

To study the relationship between indicators of clinical picture and social adaptation in idiopathic and symptomatic epilepsies with onset before adulthood depending on patient's gender.The cross-sectional study was carried out. The study group included 212 women and 171 men, aged 24-60 years, with confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy with onset before 18 years. Seventy-three patients were diagnosed with symptomatic epilepsy, 310 with idiopathic epilepsy. In 120 patients, the frequency of seizures was rarer than once a year. All patients had secondary education and were on treatment with antiepileptic drugs.In symptomatic epilepsy with early onset, gender differences in family and educational status were not identified. Regardless of gender, patients with myoclonus had higher education more frequently than patients with absence and tonic-clonic seizures. Patients with the combination of different types of seizures, irrespective from etiology and gender, had secondary education more frequently. Women with rare generalized seizures more frequently had higher education and were married. Unmarried men with rare generalized seizures lived separately from their relatives more frequently. To author's opinion, the contradiction in indicators of social adaptation in men with rare generalized seizures, to the great extent, is related to the phenomenon of self-stigmatization than to the influence of disease. The results can be used in rehabilitation of patients with idiopathic epilepsy syndromes.Цель исследования. Изучение связи между показателями клинической картины и социальной адаптацией при идиопатических и симптоматических эпилепсиях с дебютом до наступления взрослого возраста в зависимости от гендерной принадлежности. Материал и методы. Исследованы показатели социальной адаптации (образовательный, семейный статус и способность к самостоятельному проживанию) 383 пациентов, 212 женщин и 171 мужчины в возрасте от 24 до 60 лет, с эпилепсией с дебютом до 18 лет. 73 пациента наблюдались с симптоматической эпилепсией, 310 - с идиопатической. У 120 больных частота приступов была реже 1 раза в год. Все пациенты имели среднее образование и постоянно принимали противоэпилептические препараты. Результаты и обсуждение. При симптоматической эпилепсии с ранним дебютом гендерные различия в семейном и образовательном статусе выявлены не были. Независимо от пола пациенты с миоклониями чаще имели высшее образование, чем больные с абсансными и тонико-клоническими приступами. Пациенты, имеющие сочетание разных типов приступов, вне зависимости от этиологии и гендерной принадлежности, чаще имели среднее образование. Женщины с редкими генерализованными приступами чаще находились в браке и имели высшее образование. Холостые мужчины с редкими генерализованными приступами чаще проживали изолированно от родственников. Вероятно, выявленная контрадикторность в показателях социальной адаптации у мужчин с редкими генерализованными приступами в большей степени связана с феноменом аутостигматизации, чем влиянием заболевания. Полученные данные могут использоваться при проведении реабилитационных мероприятий у пациентов с синдромами идиопатической эпилепсии.

A study included 113 patients with localization-related epilepsy treated with antiepileptic drugs: 53 patients with drug-resistant (uncontrolled) form of the disease and 60 patients with controlled epileptic seizures. A comparison group included 53 patients with rare seizures not taking antiepileptic drugs. In the group of patients with uncontrolled localization-related epilepsy, the EEG monitoring of the sleep-wake cycle revealed more frequent regional interictal epileptiform discharges and increased α- and Β-activities during sleep compared to wakefulness. In patients with controlled seizures, there were the circadian changes in intra- and inter-hemispheric coherent relations in θ- и Β-bands. These relations remained stable when the sleep phase was changed to the wake phase.

Connection of indicators of intelligence and accuracy of perception of time is established with level cortical interactions on frequency of a gamma rhythm, and also phase parities between a gamma rhythm and low-frequency components EEG. Character of these communications differs at young men and girls, depends on a frequency range of a gamma rhythm, a kind and a stage of carried out activity.

This article describes the authors' results of work on the development of a method for the automated assessment of the state of the human bronchopulmonary system based on acoustic data. In particular, the article covers the method of detecting breath sounds on bronchial sonograms obtained during the auscultation process.
