Este trabajo ha obtenido un accésit del Premio «Estudios Financieros» 2022 en la modalidad de Derecho Civil y Mercantil. El presente trabajo aborda el estudio del impacto que, sobre los acreedores financieros, ha tenido la transposición en España de la Directiva sobre reestructuración e insolvencia. En este sentido, se analiza la reforma operada por la Ley 16/2022, de 5 de septiembre, que modifica sustancialmente los institutos preconcursales anteriormente existentes. Con el fin de proporcionar una panorámica general, el análisis se realiza desde distintos prismas: los acreedores financieros como clase, como titulares de garantías reales, como proveedores de financiación interina o de nueva financiación y como contrapartes contractuales.

A 16-years-old male with prior diagnosis of situs inversus totalis and pulmonary atresia with interventricular communication underwent percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation 3 months after successful RVOT stenting following a negative balloon sizing test. Once finished the procedure, after consciousness recovery in the intensive care unit, the patient developed oppressive chest pain with very subtle electrocardiographic changes over his basal right bundle branch block . An urgent coronary angiography showed a severe stenosis in the proximal right coronary artery with TIMI 2 distal flow. Intravascular ultrasound imaging confirmed extrinsic compression. A 4 × 21 mm drug-eluting stent was successfully implanted relieving symptoms immediately. TIMI 3 flow was restored and good apposition and expansion were confirmed with intravascular ultrasound. A carefully review of the procedure showed that the pitfall responsible for this complication was the oversizing of the valve with respect to the size of the balloon used for the sizing test.

As far as insolvency is related, this will imply substantial changes regarding the recognition and enforcement of the UK insolvency proceedings. This paper purports to analyze the consequences a Hard-Brexit will have on insolvency-related matters, by describing the effects that should be expected with regard to the recognition in Spain of each of the proceedings that the UK legislation foresees for financially distressed debtors, namely administration, winding-up, voluntary agreements, bankruptcy and schemes of arrangement (which are dealt with separately due to their hybrid nature).

Despite the increasing practice and evidence of its potential, co-teaching has not become a widespread practice in schools yet. Research shows the need of helping teachers become aware of co-teaching as a good mechanism for peer learning among teachers. This study focuses on the changes in student teachers’ attitudes to use co-teaching through their perceptions as a tool for their own learning. Opting for a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, 82 student teachers were divided into two groups, one receiving only conceptual training and the other one having the possibility to experience co-teaching in schools. It was hypothesized that the second group would improve their attitudes to use co-teaching more than the first group. A qualitative study was carried out to explore (1) students’ learning perceptions, (2) learning episodes in the out-of-class joint activity and (3) comparison between (1) and (2). Results confirm the hypothesis and find evidence from learning episodes to support students’ perceptions but show that there is not a clear match between students’ perceptions and contents from the learning episodes. Research implications and limitations are discussed.

Considering the issue of population ageing, its differences and inequalities, also in a pandemic context, this paper aims to explore intergenerational digital mediation relations and practises in Portugal. Therefore, this research departs from the following questions: (RQ1): How do Portuguese young adults interact online with family members over 65+?; (RQ2): Do digital relationships across generations promote active citizenship participation? The survey has a representative sample (N = 1500) of the Portuguese population of young adults between 18 and 30 years old. Results show that the most frequent activities to interact with relatives over 65 years old are a) sending messages through mobile apps (48.67%); b) using social media (48.66%); c) making audio calls with them via mobile apps such as WhatsApp or Messenger (46.45%) and d) encouraging them to look for reliable information on the Internet (44%). The study’s main conclusion is that the Portuguese context suggests intergenerational solidarity associated with technologies helps combat social isolation, promote autonomy, and prevent dependence within older generations., FCT -Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia(PTDC/COM-CSS/5947/2020)

Seven-year-old male with single ventricle in the postoperative of a fenestrated extracardiac Fontan procedure. The echocardiography performed 7 days after the procedure confirmed the presence of a 20 mm pedunculated thrombus attached to the wall of the inferior vena cava (video 1 of the supplementary data). Due to the risk of systemic embolism through the Fontan fenestration, the percutaneous extraction of the thrombus was attempted using an Amplatzer Vascular Plug II (AVP II) device (Abbott, United States). A 6-Fr introducer sheath and a 10-Fr sheath were used for the catheterization of the right jugular vein and right femoral vein, respectively. The fenestration was found in the Fontan conduit using an angiography (figure 1). It was catheterized via jugular access and occluded by inflating the balloon of a 6-Fr Wedge-Pressure Catheter (Arrow, United States) to protect an eventual paradoxical embolism (figure 2). The transesophageal echocardiography performed revealed the location of the thrombus in the inferior vena cava and the diameter of the cava was measured at that level (15 mm). A partir del concepto de artista-docente hemos focalizado sobre las formas que asume la participacion, de estos/as trabajadores/as, en las marchas y manifestaciones de reclamos salariales, convocadas por la Asociacion de Trabajadores de la Educacion de Neuquen (Argentina). Nos proponemos aqui realizar una etnografia de la protesta docente, prestando especial atencion a los simbolos y sus representaciones plasticas y musicales. Consideraremos a estas como el resultado del trabajo artistico de un sector de la docencia militante. Nos interesara mostrar de que manera pesa sobre estas tareas una cultura del trabajo artistico docente, atravesada por las representaciones de la Modernidad, en torno del arte y la docencia. Munidos de las herramientas provistas por la Antropologia, hemos analizado la relacion establecida entre el mundo simbolico y el mundo material-laboral del/la artista docente. De esa manera, a partir de un marco referencial provisto por la Historia Cultural del Arte, hemos detectado como “vocacion” y “donacion de si”, dos categorias presentes en la concepcion del artista, desde los albores de la Modernidad, se solapan con las mismas exigencias, en la construccion social de la docencia. Desde un abordaje etnografico de la protesta gremial docente, nos interesa subrayar la dialectica familiaridad –extranamiento y la necesidad de considerar a las emociones como parte del estudio antropologico en terrenos como el abordado. An ethnography of the teacher marches (Neuquen 2017-2019) Abstract: Based on the concept of artist-teacher we have focused on the forms assumed by the participation from these workers in public protests and wage claims called by the Association of Education Workers of Neuquen (Argentina). We propose here to carry out an ethnography of the teacher protest, paying special attention to the symbols and their plastic and musical representations. We will consider these as the result of the artistic work of a militant teaching sector. We will be interested in showing how a culture of teaching artistic work weighs on these tasks, crossed by representations of Modernity around art and teaching. In addition to the tools provided by anthropology, we have analyzed the relationship established between the symbolic or ideetic world and the material-work world of the/the teaching artist. In this way, from a reference framework provided by the Cultural History of Art, we have detected how "vocation" and "donation of self", two categories present in the conception of the artist from the dawn of Modernity, overlap with the same requirements in the social construction of teaching. From an ethnographic approach to teacher union protest, we are interested in highlighting the dialectic familiarity -strangement and the need to consider emotions as part of anthropological study in areas such as we addressed. Este artículo presenta una investigación sobre el programa Bikoteka Irakurtzen, basado en la tutoría entre iguales. Su objetivo es la mejora de la comprensión lectora a través de la creación de parejas y la asignación de los roles de tutores y tutorados en el alumnado. La investigación opta por el uso de un enfoque ecológico, combinando un diseño cuasi-experimental sin grupo de control con el análisis de contenido de entrevistas y grupos de discusión del estudiantado y del profesorado. Los resultados muestran mejoras en comprensión y autoimagen lectora que pueden ser explicadas a través de los datos obtenidos de forma cualitativa. This article presents a study on the effects of the Basque-language the Bikoteka Irakurtzen programme, based on peer tutorials, which aims to improve reading comprehension by getting students into pairs and assigning them the roles of tutors and tutees. The study adopts an ecological approach by combining a quasi-experimental design without a control group and a content analysis of the interviews and discussion groups conducted with the students and teachers. The results show gains in reading comprehension and self-image which are explained by qualitative data.

O relat��rio Inova����o Digital nos Museus Portugueses resulta de um estudo explorat��rio que procura analisar de que forma a inova����o nos media se manifesta no ��mbito dos museus nacionais geridos pela Dire����o Geral do Patrim��nio Cultural (DGPC). O estudo procura responder a quatro perguntas de investiga����o: 1) Que pr��ticas de inova����o digital est��o presentes nos museus portugueses?; 2) Como �� que os museus portugueses se relacionam com os p��blicos atrav��s dos seus websites?; 3) Em que plataformas sociais est��o presentes e quais as formas de apropria����o para inovar na comunica����o com os p��blicos?; 4) Que modelos narrativos est��o presentes para acrescentar valor ao acervo e �� experi��ncia est��tica dos p��blicos e quais os formatos e estrat��gias criativas utilizados? A major issue in organ transplantation is the development of a protocol that can preserve organs under optimal conditions. Damage to organs is commonly a consequence of flow deprivation and oxygen starvation following the restoration of blood flow and reoxygenation. This is known as ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI): a complex multifactorial process that causes cell damage. While the oxygen deprivation due to ischemia depletes cell energy, subsequent tissue oxygenation due to reperfusion induces many cascades, from reactive oxygen species production to apoptosis initiation. Autophagy has also been identified in the pathogenesis of IRI, although such alterations and their subsequent functional significance are controversial. Moreover, proteasome activation may be a relevant pathophysiological mechanism. Different strategies have been adopted to limit IRI damage, including the supplementation of commercial preservation media with pharmacological agents or additives. In this review, we focus on novel strategies related to the ubiquitin proteasome system and oxidative stress inhibition, which have been used to minimize damage in liver transplantation.

RESUMEN Muchos pacientes con fibrilacion auricular tienen un elevado riesgo tromboembolico, por lo que requieren tratamiento anticoagulante. Aunque ha demostrado claros beneficios, el tratamiento anticoagulante tiene, logicamente, el riesgo de producir hemorragias, que pueden ser graves. En esta revision se analiza el riesgo de hemorragia de los anticoagulantes, tanto de los antivitamina K como de los anticoagulantes orales de accion directa, y se revisan las estrategias dirigidas a prevenirlas, asi como las recomendaciones mas actuales para tratarlas.

Este trabajo ha obtenido un Accésit Premio Estudios Financieros 2017 en la modalidad de Derecho Civil y Mercantil. El crowdlending constituye una novedosa forma de financiación que pertenece al fenómeno general del crowdfunding. El auge de esta modalidad de obtención de fondos en España resulta abrumador, como también lo es el riesgo al cual se someten los inversores que deciden canalizar sus ahorros a través de ella. La regulación del crowdlending en España ha procurado alcanzar el equilibrio entre el fomento de esta nueva forma de financiación y la garantía de una determinada protección para los inversores que optan por participar en ella. El presente trabajo tiene por objeto el análisis y juicio crítico de los mecanismos de protección del inversor que se prevén en la regulación del crowdlending en España; regulación que resulta relativamente reciente y necesitada, por lo tanto, de una mayor labor interpretativa que armonice su contenido y ponga de manifiesto sus deficiencias.

Introducció: La docència compartida (DC) —dos professors ensenyant en un grup d’estudiants o aula— és presentada per la literatura com un instrument potent, tant per a l’atenció de l’alumnat, com per a la formació del professorat. Aquest estudi pretén conèixer algunes potencialitats i dificultats de la DC, tant en educació primària com a la universitat. Mètode: Es reparteix una mostra configurada amb 108 estudiants d’Educació en dos grups: un rep dues sessions de formació sobre DC mitjançant DC, i l’altre rep el mateix contingut, però sense utilitzar DC. S’opta per un disseny mixt, que combina un estudi quantitatiu, de disseny quasi-experimental amb grup de comparació, que hipotetitza millores en l’aplicació pre- i posttest d’un qüestionari sobre coneixements i actituds en DC; i un estudi qualitatiu, basat en l’anàlisi de les percepcions dels estudiants —mitjançant un qüestionari— i del professorat —mitjançant entrevistes¬. Resultats: Els resultats quantitatius confirmen la hipòtesi i l’estudi qualitatiu presenta les potencialitats que estudiants i professors veuen en la DC. Discussió: Els avantatges per a cada context adquireixen matisos diferents i, tot i les dificultats, especialment en el context universitari, els resultats indiquen la necessitat d’utilitzar la DC en la formació inicial del professorat., Introduction: Co-teaching, when two teachers work together with the same group of students and share the same classroom, is considered a powerful tool for learning, both for students and for trainee teachers. The study aims to identify the benefits and difficulties of co-teaching in primary and higher education. Method: A sample of 108 education students was divided in two groups: one that was trained in co-teaching during two sessions using co-teaching methodology and one that received the same training but without co-teaching methodology. The research adopted a mixed design: a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental design with a comparison group that hypothesized certain improvements in knowledge and attitudes about co-teaching in the pre- and post- test; and a qualitative study based on the perceptions of students (through a questionnaire) and teachers (through interviews). Results: The quantitative results confirm the hypothesis and the qualitative study reveals some of the potentialities of co-teaching as observed in the teachers’ and students’ responses. Discussion: The benefits of co-teaching differ according to the setting; and despite the difficulties, especially in the university setting, the results point to the need to use co-teaching methodology in the initial stages of teacher education., INTRODUCCIÓN. La docencia compartida (DC) —dos profesores enseñando en un grupo de estudiantes o aula— es un potente instrumento, tanto para la atención del alumnado, como para la formación del profesorado. Este estudio pretende conocer algunas potencialidades y dificultades de la DC, tanto en educación primaria como en la universidad. MÉTODO. Se reparte una muestra configurada por 108 estudiantes del Grado de Educación en dos grupos: uno que recibe dos sesiones de formación sobre DC a través de DC; y otro que recibe el mismo contenido, pero sin DC. Se opta por un diseño mixto, combinando un estudio cuantitativo con un diseño cuasiexperimental con grupo de comparación, que hipotetiza mejoras en la aplicación pretest y postest de un cuestionario sobre conocimiento y actitudes en DC; y un estudio cualitativo, basado en el análisis de las percepciones de los estudiantes (cuestionario) y del profesorado (entrevistas). RESULTADOS. Los resultados cuantitativos confirman la hipótesis y el estudio cualitativo aporta potencialidades que los estudiantes y los profesores ven en la DC. DISCUSIÓN. Las ventajas para cada contexto adquieren matices distintos y, a pesar de las dificultades, especialmente en el contexto universitario, los resultados indican la necesidad de utilizar la DC en la formación inicial del profesorado.

The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the percentage of emergency department (ED) visits due to musculoskeletal pain (MSP) by children 3-14 years of age during a period of 1 year; (2) to determine the most frequent presenting complaints; and (3) to characterize their etiology. A cross-sectional study was performed on children aged 3-14(11/12) years attended at the ED of a tertiary hospital due to MSP. The demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients were reviewed 5 days each month for 12 consecutive months. Study days were selected by computer-generated simple random sampling. Out of 4,531 visits to the ED, 826 were due to MSP (18.2 %; 95 % CI 17.1-19.4 %). When compared with children with no skeletal complaints, children with MSP had a similar sex distribution but were older (mean ± SD 7 ± 3.5 years vs 9.9 ± 3.1 years; p < 0.0001). The most common complaints were pain at the wrist (19 %), ankle (19 %) and finger (15 %). The most common etiology was trauma (88.4 %), including contusions (38 %), fractures (21 %) and sprains (18 %). Children with hip (6.7 ± 3 years; p < 0.0001) and elbow (7.8 ± 3.5 years; p < 0.0001) complaints were younger than children with pain in other locations, whereas children with wrist pain (10.5 ± 2.6 years; p < 0.002) and joint sprains (10.7 ± 2.7 years; p < 0.0001) were older. Fractures were more frequent in boys (64 vs 36 %, p = 0.008; OR 1.6; CI 1.1-2.2). Visits to the ED due to MSP increased with age. Pain at three locations represented 50 % of the presenting complaints. Trauma was the principal etiology, but fractures only represented one-fifth of the total.

This study relates to the results obtained in the development of reading comprehension (RC) and self-concept as a reader in students who participated in Llegim en parella (Reading in pairs), a Catalan peer tutoring programme. The research combines a quasi-experimental design with the use of comparison groups and pre-tests/ post-tests for both variables; a qualitative approach is adopted by analysing the interactions in order to detect influencing factors. Statistically significant results were obtained for all students in terms of RC but only for student tutors in relation to reading self-concept. The factors involved in the improvements identified in RC are: reading strategies, scaffolding in inferential and deep comprehension questions. Regarding self-concept, the tutor’s own role, his involvement with their tutees’ progress, reading aloud and the metacognitive reflection processes, are all factors that enable us to explain the improvement in the tutor’s reading self-perception. The positive influence of peer tutoring on the development of reading competence through this programme is clearly evident.

The 26S proteasome is the central proteolytic machinery of the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS), which is involved in the degradation of ubiquitinated protein substrates. Recently, UPS inhibition has been shown to be a key factor in fatty liver graft preservation during organ cold storage using University of Wisconsin solution (UW) and Institute Georges Lopez (IGL-1) solutions. However, the merits of IGL-1 and histidine-tryptophan-ketoglutarate (HTK) solutions for fatty liver preservation have not been compared. Fatty liver grafts from obese Zücker rats were preserved for 24 h at 4 ◦C. Aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT), glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH), ATP, adenosine monophosphate protein kinase (AMPK), e-NOS, proteasome activity and liver polyubiquitinated proteins were determined. IGL-1 solution prevented ATP breakdown during cold-storage preservation of steatotic livers to a greater extent than HTK solution. There were concomitant increases in AMPK activation, e-NOS (endothelial NOS (NO synthase)) expression and UPS inhibition. UPS activity is closely related to the composition of the solution used to preserve the organ. IGL-1 solution provided significantly better protection against ischemia-reperfusion for cold-stored fatty liver grafts than HTK solution. Among the different lines of treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension are endothelin receptor antagonists. Macitentan is an orally active, potent and dual endothelin receptor antagonist. We want to report our initial experience with the use of macitentan in two pediatric patients.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of an educational programme involving peer tutoring at school and family tutoring at home on child reading comprehension achievement in Catalunya, Spain. We drew upon a sample of 303 primary school students from 8 to 11 years old and 223 family tutors from home (61.5% mothers, 15% fathers, 17% both parents, 6.5% siblings). Reading comprehension performance was assessed through standardised tests in pre and post-test bases. Background variables were collected by means of student and parent questionnaires and also teacher and family interviews. An analysis of the family tutoring interactions was also performed. The main results showed positive effects for all the students, but especially for the 223 students who received family support. Overall, the study reveals the effectiveness of peer learning to improve reading comprehension skills and the potential of family involvement for the development of academic skills when the school provides trust and support for it.

This paper presents on the effects of an educational programme involving peer tutoring at school and family tutoring at home on child reading comprehension achievement. We drew upon a sample of 303 students and 223 family tutors. The methodology combined a quasi-experimental design and a qualitative analysis of texts. Background variables were collected by means of student and parent questionnaires and also teacher and family interviews. An analysis of the family tutoring interactions was also monitored. Overall, the study reveals the effectiveness of peer learning to improve reading comprehension skills and the potential of family involvement for the development of academic skills.
