The problem of plastic waste has recently attracted more attention due to the non- biodegradable of plastic. The thermochemical method through pyrolysis is one of the most effective methods used in processing of plastic waste into fuel. Here we report on the pyrolysis of plastic packaging using a batch pyrolysis reactor at 430 °C. The derived liquid has a compound distribution starting from the light aliphatic compounds. In addition, this liquid has a gross calorific value of 11090.9 kcal/kg. This value is in the range of the gross calorific value of commercial gasoline. Thus, the pyrolysis process of plastic packaging has the potential to become a fuel.

Penelitian ini berarti memutuskan dampak konsistensi terhadap aturan pembukuan, dan kelayakan pengendalian interior terhadap kecenderungan salah penyajian pembukuan dalam KSP Kopdit Suru Pudi Koting. Pemeriksaan semacam ini adalah eksplorasi kuantitatif. Jumlah penduduk dalam penelitian ini seluruh perwakilan di KSP Kopdit Suru Pudi Koting yang jumlahnya mencapai 30 orang. Dalam ulasan ini dengan contoh angka 30. Bermacam-macam informasi menggunakan coesinoner dan sebelum digunakan dicoba untuk legitimasi dan keandalan. Efek samping dari tes yang diselesaikan menunjukkan bahwa semuanya sah dan dapat diandalkan. Pemeriksaan informasi yang digunakan adalah tes kualitas informasi pengukuran yang jelas, tes dugaan tradisional, berbagai tes investigasi kambuh langsung, tes spekulasi, dan tes koefisien jaminan. Hasil penelitian menunjuka ketaatan aturan akuntansi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kecenderungan kecurangan akuntansi, keefektifan pengendalian internal berpengaruh terhadap kecenderungan kecurangan akuntansi, ketaatan aturan akuntansi dan keefektifan pengendalian internal secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap kecenderungan kecurangan akuntansi.

Kolejnym krokiem cyfrowej transformacji jest przyjęcie sztucznej inteligencji (AI), nawet jeśli sama technologia wciąż ewoluuje. Niemniej jednak dyskusje na temat zalet i wad AI są żywe: menedżerowie znajdują się na pierwszej linii podejmowania decyzji dotyczących najlepszych sposobów wprowadzenia takich zmian. Jeśli korporacje są już zaznajomione ze sztuczną inteligencją, przynajmniej częściowo w przypadku niektórych procesów, małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa (MŚP) stoją przed podwójną presją: nierównym stopniem dojrzałości cyfrowej, a także codziennymi ograniczeniami w zwiększaniu konkurencyjności. W szczególności MŚP z Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej znajdują się w skomplikowanych ramach, a przyjęcie sztucznej inteligencji, nawet jeśli jest trudne, może być jednym z rozwiązań umożliwiających postęp pod względem wydajności. Mimo wszystko ryzyko w takim podejściu musi być dokładnie rozważone. Opierając się na częściowo ustrukturyzowanym przeglądzie literatury przedmiotu, w niniejszym artykule omówiono główne zagrożenia, które menedżerowie MŚP w regionie Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej powinni zrozumieć w odniesieniu do sztucznej inteligencji, i wynikające z niej wyzwania związane z jej przyjęciem w biznesie. Końcowe rozważania i przyszłe dyskusje badawcze zamykają prace.

Sampah plastik menimbulkan permasalahan serius karena sulitnya terdegradasi oleh alam dan menimbulkan pencemaran pada lingkungan. Kehadiran Bank Sampah Seni Baru yang terletak di Kecamatan Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, merupakan salah satu upaya mengurangi pembuangan sampah plastik. Hingga kini, Bank Sampah Seni Baru belum memiliki reaktor pengolahan sampah plastik khususnya reaktor pirolisis. Bank Sampah Seni Baru dalam operasional pengelolaannya melakukan pendekatan daur ulang sampah plastik kepada masyarakat sekitarnya melalui pemanfaatan sampah plastik menjadi bentuk kerajinan tangan dan lainnya. Tentu saja metode daur ulang ini pada suatu waktu akan menghadapi permasalahan yang sama karena hanya mengubah bentuk dari sampah plastik tersebut untuk sementara waktu. Atas dasar permasalahan ini, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan teknologi pirolisis sebagai bentuk daur ulang yang dapat mengubah sampah plastik menjadi fraksi cair yang memiliki sifat sebagai bahan bakar. Background: The literature highlights the benefits of physical activity using water resistance during movement in the aquatic environment, and the combination of pilayoga with the activity in the aquatic environment offers an interesting alternative to modern training and inspires research in this field. Nowadays, aquatic fitness is one of the most widely recognized fitness programs among health specialists, sports professionals, and practitioners. Aims: The main aim of the study was to assess the effect of three months of participation in an aqua pilayoga program on the functional fitness of women over 60 years of age. Method: The study group followed a supervised training routine 2 times per week for 3 months. The variables assessed at baseline and after 3 months included body composition (BIA), anthropometric indices i.e. body mass index, and results of the Fullerton Fitness Senior Test (FFST) which evaluated functional fitness. Fitness parameters measured in the study were strength and muscular endurance, mobility, dexterity, speed, body balance, motor coordination, reaction time, and flexibility. Results: After 3 months of the experiment, the greatest changes were found in endurance, agility, and strength of the upper and lower limbs. Research background: As companies evolve over time, so do their goals. In the past, the main goals of companies were profit and goals (as market share), are no longer relevant or effective. These goals are outdated, and companies have replaced them with goals that are consistent with the current changing times of competition. Worldwide, most large companies are using, or planning to use, a new approach called value-based management that focuses on value creation. Therefore, the main goal of companies using a value-based management approach is value creation. Purpose: This study aims to validate the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the economic value added (EVA) indicator, which represents the successful implementation of the value creation process in companies, and selected value generators. Method: For this study, information about 14,313 companies operating in the Visegrad Four countries were collected from their respective financial statements. The research period was 2019–2020. Twenty value generators were selected for this study. The hypotheses were tested using the correlation coefficient. The strength of the relationship between the observed variables is described by using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Findings and value added: A trivial or small dependence was observed between the EVA indicator and non-current assets, current financial assets, and income tax. A moderate dependence was observed between the EVA indicator and stocks, receivables, interest expenses, and other liabilities. A large dependence was observed between the EVA indicator and bank loans, profit and loss (P/L) statement, and the cost of capital. The survey results can be a useful tool for businesses in their efforts to focus on a suitable value generator in the process of value-based management implementation, focusing on the process of value creation.

Contains fulltext : 294548.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) OBJECTIVES: Uncertainty is a fundamental component of decision making regarding access to and pricing and reimbursement of drugs. The context-specific interpretation and mitigation of uncertainty remain major challenges for decision makers. Following the 2021 HTAi Global Policy Forum, a cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary HTAi-DIA Working Group (WG) was initiated to develop guidance to support stakeholder deliberation on the systematic identification and mitigation of uncertainties in the regulatory-HTA interface. METHODS: Six online discussions among WG members (Dec 2021-Sep 2022) who examined the output of a scoping review, two literature-based case studies and a survey; application of the initial guidance to a real-world case study; and two international conference panel discussions. RESULTS: The WG identified key concepts, clustered into twelve building blocks that were collectively perceived to define uncertainty: "unavailable," "inaccurate," "conflicting," "not understandable," "random variation," "information," "prediction," "impact," "risk," "relevance," "context," and "judgment." These were converted into a checklist to explain and define whether any issue constitutes a decision-relevant uncertainty. A taxonomy of domains in which uncertainty may exist within the regulatory-HTA interface was developed to facilitate categorization. The real-world case study was used to demonstrate how the guidance may facilitate deliberation between stakeholders and where additional guidance development may be needed. CONCLUSIONS: The systematic approach taken for the identification of uncertainties in this guidance has the potential to facilitate understanding of uncertainty and its management across different stakeholders involved in drug development and evaluation. This can improve consistency and transparency throughout decision processes. To further support uncertainty management, linkage to suitable mitigation strategies is necessary.

This article discuss in what way these experiences that formed young artisz have been transposed into their literature – what are their representations in Parulskis’s Three Seconds of Heaven (Trys sekundės dangaus) and Stasiuk’s short stories collection The Walls of Hebron (Mury Hebronu). The comparison of these works serves to show how personal experiences of the authors are exploited and processed in texts, and to find out how above mentioned Lithuanian and Polish works are related.

As shifts occur on the global market and business models adapt to a dynamic environment, the process of business internationalization, as performed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), maintains its relevance for academics, professionals, international organizations, and authorities. Studies in the field have emphasized the strategic component of internationalization, linking it to cultivating (sustainable) competitive advantages, to stimulating strategic innovation, to the pursuit of profitability, and to an overall improved performance, taking into account the activities conducted on foreign markets. Based on a survey carried out with over 100 European SMEs in the steel field, this study examines the influences of strategic collaborators (from international business networks), intermediaries (as organizational links to the target stakeholders), and strategic innovation on SMEs’ profitability resulted from international operations, and on the level of business development on foreign markets. The results have shown positive influences among most of the considered factors (i.e., direct collaborators, strategic innovation, international profitability and development), whereas intermediaries have a significant influence only on international profitability and not on SMEs’ development on foreign markets.

PurposeThe present study aims to tackle SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) managers' awareness of coopetition benefits underpinning the process of knowledge sharing with a view to achieve innovative performance. The scrutiny of coopetition is placed within the context of SMEs strategic networks, which foster a fertile ground for competitive knowledge sharing and direct collaboration among members.Design/methodology/approachIn total, 102 top managers and business owners of European steel SMEs were questioned regarding various issues related to coopetition, knowledge, collaboration and innovative performance strategies. The collected data were analyzed via the technique of partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).FindingsThe obtained values confirm that intense competition in the field stimulates SMEs to become aware of the benefits of coopetition. This awareness directly influences the innovative performance of the SMEs, as well as their interest in competitive knowledge sharing and their willingness to engage in direct collaboration. Direct collaboration catalyzes more intense competitive knowledge sharing at the inter-unit level whereas both direct collaboration and competitive knowledge sharing lead to better innovative performance in the case of the studied steel SMEs.Research limitations/implicationsA key theoretical contribution resides in revealing the influence of manifold factors in the overall equation of innovative performance, integrating competition, coopetition and knowledge sharing as antecedents.Originality/valueThe research advances a phenomenological view on SMEs networks in their strategy to leverage competitive knowledge and enhance system-driven innovation.

This paper reports the conceptual design of a household kitchen food waste composter. Several conceptual approaches, such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Concept Generation, and Concept of Evaluation using PUGH Method are implemented. The component selection is applied using House of Quality method, and the final design is presented and selected using PUGH Method. Design 1 is selected as the best composter design. The material selection and the cost of the components are also presented. The conceptual design approach highlights its benefit as the preliminary method in designing the food waste composter.

A significant proportion of adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) or atypical anorexia nervosa (AAN) experience premorbid overweight/obesity, yet distinct characteristics among this subset of patients remain unclear. This study examined eating disorder (ED) symptom severity, psychological morbidity, and weight stigma in patients with premorbid overweight/obesity as compared to patients with premorbid normal weights. Participants included adolescents with AN or AAN (aged 12–18) who received multidisciplinary treatment at a pediatric medical center in the United States. ED symptoms, anxiety, and depression were compared among patients with premorbid overweight/obesity (n = 43) and premorbid normal weights (n = 63). Research demonstrates that anorexia nervosa (AN) takes a significant toll on affected families, yet the well-being of siblings has been largely overlooked. This study examines mental health symptoms in siblings of adolescents with AN and seeks to identify modifiable factors associated with well-being. Participants included 34 siblings (aged 11–19) of adolescents with AN and 47 age and sex matched controls. Participants and their caregivers completed assessments of anxiety, depression, internalizing and externalizing problems, and parentification. Siblings of adolescents with AN also completed the Sibling Perception Questionnaire, an assessment of perceptions and attitudes about AN. Analyses indicated that siblings of adolescents with AN reported greater anxiety and parentification than controls. On caregiver reports of participants’ internalizing and externalizing symptoms, no significant differences were found across groups. In siblings of adolescents with AN, females were more vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and negative attitudes and perceptions about AN than males. Perceived negative interpersonal interactions, specific to having a brother or sister with AN, were associated with greater anxiety and depression among AN siblings. Findings from this pilot study suggest that siblings of adolescents with AN are vulnerable to anxiety and parentification behaviors. Negative interpersonal interactions specific to having a brother or sister with AN may perpetuate risk for poorer well-being. Caregivers may not be attuned to these struggles, highlighting the importance of provider and family education about sibling vulnerabilities. Therapeutic interventions that target siblings of adolescents with AN are also indicated. Level III, case–control analytic study.

The aim of my article is to present the Polish perspective on the state of the art of comparative studies of contemporary Polish and Lithuanian literature. In my article, I discuss difficulties that contribute to the niche status of the field as well as phenomena that positively influence its development. First, I touch upon issues of hermeticity of the Lithuanian language and complicated relations between Poland and Lithuania. Then, I focus on the availability of Lithuanian literature in Poland and mention publications concerning it, written in Polish. I also emphasize the significance of translation endeavors. Next, I enumerate centers that conduct comparative studies of Polish and Lithuanian literature and introduce scholars-comparatists and their publications. I also present the accomplishments of some figures whose activity was significant for building Polish-Lithuanian dialogue on the level of literature and literary studies. I enumerate initiatives that provide new possibilities for the development of this field of studies and describe institutions which promote Lithuanian culture in Poland. In the end, I present possible directions for comparative studies of contemporary Polish and Lithuanian writings.

BackgroundIn contrast to alarming reports of exhaustion and burnout amongst healthcare workers in the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we noticed surprisingly positive staff experiences of working in a COVID-19 field hospital in South Africa. The 862-bed ‘Hospital of Hope’ was established at the Cape Town International Convention Centre specifically to cope with the effects of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Cape Town.MethodsWe aimed to systematically describe and assess the effects on staff and the local health system. A cross-sectional descriptive study design was employed using mixed methods including record reviews and interviews with key informants.ResultsQuantitative results confirmed high job satisfaction and low staff infection rates. The emerging themes from the qualitative data are grouped around a “bull’s eye” of the common purpose of person-centredness, from both patient and staff perspectives, and include staff safety and support, rapid communication, continuous learning and adaptability, underpinned by excellent teamwork. The explanations for the positive feedback included good disaster planning, adequate resources, and an extraordinary responsiveness to the need.ConclusionsThe ‘Hospital of Hope’ staff experience produced significant learnings for the design and management of routine health services outside of a disaster situation. The adaptability and responsiveness of the facility and its staff was largely a product of the unprecedented nature of the pandemic, but such approaches could benefit routine health services enormously, as individual hospitals and health facilities realize their place in a system that is ‘more than the sum of its parts’.

Purpose The aim of this study was to assess the biomechanics of the foot in beauty pageant contestants wearing shoes that increase calcaneal height. Plantar pressure distribution and postural balance were examined in women after one hour of wearing high-heeled shoes. Methods Foot arch measurements were conducted using EPSR1 mats. Based on these measurements, 18 of the 19 tested women were diagnosed with significant pes cavus. Results The experiment revealed a significant reduction in the excessively high metatarsal arch of both feet. The mean load on the metatarsus measured at rest was 0.0% in both feet, and it increased by 0.6% in the left leg (p ≤ 0.022; Z = 2.293) and by 2.7% in the right leg (p ≤ 0.023; Z = 2.271). These results suggest that excessive stretching of the plantar fascia and impaired function of the short muscles of the foot lead to a temporary reduction in the arch of the foot. This phenomenon can be compared to stretching a bowstring and its return to the shortest length under static conditions. A statistical analysis of the results of stabilographic measurements revealed significant changes only in the left foot barycenter. An analysis of the ability to maintain postural balance revealed that the observed changes contributed to postural destabilization at p ≤ 0.011 and Z = 2.535. Conclusions Further research involving electromyography tests is needed to examine plantar muscle tension during isotonic contractions. The duration of the exercise-induced reduction in pes cavus should also be determined for therapeutic purposes.

This type of research is classified as causal associative research. The population in this study were employees of the Sube Huter Credit Cooperative. Sampling using saturated sampling technique, with the number of respondents as many as 30 people namely Management, Supervisor, Manager, Head of TPK, Head of Division, Finance Staff, and LO Staff. The data collection technique used is by using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of this study indicate that pressure, opportunity, rationalization, and ability have no significant effect on the tendency of financial statement fraud either partially or simultaneously

The generational differences among leaders have progressively captured the attention of both researchers and practitioners interested in their dynamics within the work environment. Many analyses in this respect have been focused on the differences between Millennials (Generation Y) and Generation X members from a personality-centric perspective, the great majority of the examinations revolving around Western research samples. By acknowledging the current state and assuming the calls for further investigations advanced by various researchers, this conceptual and empirical undertaking aims to provide an exploratory outlook on generational differences among Romanian leaders, by employing worldwide reputed research instruments such as the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), Hogan Development Survey (HDS) and Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI). A sample of over 700 subjects was considered in the running of the statistical analyses, thus allowing to draw pertinent conclusions apposite to the envisaged population. Even though statistically significant findings were retrieved on few scales pertaining to the three applied instruments, one key insight advanced by the present endeavor resides in the extension of the scope of the existing literature dedicated to the generational differences from a leadership perspective via the integration of an Eastern European landscape which adds to the evidence in the field and opens up new research challenges for complementary scrutiny.

Premorbid obesity is an identified risk factor for eating disorder (ED) development among adolescent males. However, pervasive gender- and weight-related biases about ED inhibit timely diagnosis and treatment among this demographic. This study examined the psychological and medical characteristics of three adolescent males with premorbid obesity who were not diagnosed with atypical anorexia nervosa (AAN) until medical sequelae of malnutrition warranted emergent hospitalization. Factors associated with diagnostic delays among these cases were identified to facilitate increased awareness of this at-risk demographic. Retrospective chart review was conducted on three adolescent males (aged 12–17) with AAN and premorbid obesity who were medically hospitalized for 13–24 days (M = 20.3, SD = 9.7). Demographic variables, psychological characteristics, and physical data were extracted. Each case presented at normal or overweight BMI status (M = 22.7 kg/m2, SD = 3.2) following a significant loss of weight ranging from 19 to 42% of total body mass (M = 31.7%, SD = 9.5) over 5–12 months (M = 8.3, SD = 2.9). Plausible factors associated with diagnostic delays included initial weight loss recommendations by a medical provider, with little support or oversight; limited insight that symptoms were problematic; social reinforcement of dieting behaviors; low prevalence of psychiatric comorbidity; parental obesity; and parental history of bariatric surgery. These cases elucidate the importance of close follow-up of youth with obesity who are encouraged to lose weight. Further education about AAN among males with premorbid obesity is crucial for timely diagnosis and intervention.

Objective To identify carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) in patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; COVID-19) and to determine whether they had different risk factors for the acquisition of CRE than patients without COVID-19. Methods This retrospective single-centre, case–control study enrolled patients with and without COVID-19. The demographic, clinical, infection, colonization and mortality data were compared between the two groups. Results A total of 38 patients with COVID-19 and 26 patients without COVID-19 were enrolled. The majority of isolates detected in COVID-19 patients were Klebsiella spp. Leukopenia at admission (odds ratio [OR] 4.70; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.37, 16.10), invasive mechanical ventilation (OR 5.74; 95% CI 1.07, 30.63), carbapenem treatment (OR 5.09; 95% CI 1.21, 21.27) and corticosteroid treatment (OR 7.06; 95% CI 1.53, 32.39) were independent risk factors for CRE acquisition in COVID-19 patients. Intensive care unit (ICU) mortality was significantly higher in COVID-19 patients compared with patients without COVID-19 (OR 20.62; 95% CI 5.50, 77.23). Length of ICU stay increased the risk of death in patients with COVID-19 (subdistribution hazard ratio 3.81; 95% CI 1.33, 10.92). Conclusion CRE strains were more common in patients with COVID-19 and they had different risks for CRE compared with patients without COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had sweeping and deleterious effects on the well-being of individuals worldwide. Eating disorders (EDs) are no exception, with incidence and prevalence of EDs rising since COVID-19 onset. The current study examined inpatient census and readmission rates among youth (aged 8-18) hospitalized for medical complications of anorexia nervosa (AN) or atypical anorexia nervosa (AAN) throughout distinct periods of the COVID-19 pandemic, including pre-COVID-19 (n = 136), COVID-19 lockdown (n = 3), and post COVID-19 lockdown (n = 24). Data from the COVID-19 lockdown period was excluded from analyses due to low sample size. Youth hospitalized during post COVID-19 lockdown were over 8-times more likely to be readmitted within 30-days of discharge compared to patients hospitalized before the pandemic (p = .002). Further, the inpatient census of youth with AN/AAN was significantly higher during post COVID-19 lockdown compared to pre-COVID-19 (p = .04). One-third of patients hospitalized since the pandemic identified COVID-19 consequences as a primary correlate of their ED. Our findings, although not causal, suggest an association between COVID-19 and AN/AAN development and exacerbation in youth, thus prompting more medical admissions and rapid readmissions among this demographic. This study has important implications for understanding how AN/AAN onset and exacerbation in youth has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and can inform new efforts to support individuals navigating treatment during a global crisis.

Weight-based teasing was positively associated with ED symptoms, anxiety, and depression for all patients, regardless of premorbid weight status.ConclusionsAdolescents with AN or AAN and a history of overweight/obesity may present with greater ED symptom severity and psychological morbidity than patients with normal weight histories. Problems that often occur in a cooperative are usually caused by financial problems. To measure the level of financial health cooperatives can be used analysis of financial ratios using the Altman Z-Score model. This research aims to predict bankruptcy in the credit Union of the regional government Puskopdit, Maumere, using the Altman Z-Score model. The samples in this study were credit cooperatives of the main district Puskopdit in 2015-2017 consisting of 16 cooperatives. The data source used is the secondary data in the form of cooperative financial statements. The analytical technique used is the Altman Z-Score Bankruptcy Prediction model. The results showed that there is a cooperative that has been in the healthy category during the year 2015-2017, namely Torch Mas Cooperative, Tuke Jung, Ortal, Plantation, star East, and Serba Te. In the years 2015 and 2016 Kelubagolit cooperatives entered in the category of gray area, but in the year 2017 the cooperative is in a healthy category. In addition, there are cooperatives during the year 2015-2017 in the category of gray area namely Sube Huter Cooperative, Tuke Ler, Hiro Heling, Bina Pertiwi, and Surya Sakti. The cooperatives of San Dominggo in 2015 and 2016 were in the category of bankruptcy, but the following year entered the gray area category. The cooperative in the category of bankruptcy from 2015-2017 is the youth cooperative Hokeng and Ankara. In the year 2015 Plelu Meluk Cooperative entered in the category of gray area, the cooperative's performance continued to decline and in the year 2016 and 2017 the cooperative was entered in the category of bankruptcy. In the years 2018, Hokeng Youth Cooperative experienced an amalgamation with Mitan Gitan Cooperative. This indicates that the accuracy level of the Altman Z-Score model is high..
