El trabajo parte de un corpus de documentos inéditoscompuesto por relaciones de bienes del siglo XVII. A partir de estecorpus se estudia el léxico de la vida cotidiana y se analiza la utilidadque tiene para el estudio del léxico histórico desde una perspectivadiatópica. El corpus sirve tanto para detectar el área de uso deformas innovadoras (bombasí, biombo, cuja, limiste, pegoste) comopara dibujar el área en el que perviven voces en retroceso (cócedra,hirma, arrelde, quilma). Del mismo modo, la comparación entre fondosde diversos archivos permite establecer el área de expansión devoces patrimoniales en el Siglo de Oro: masera, zaranda, brega, cerristopa,camizo, vánova, lichera, cociol y bieldo.

El trabajo es una recopilación de voces sufijadas que noestán suficientemente documentadas o que ni siquiera aparecen en losrepertorios del léxico histórico del castellano. Igualmente se hace hincapiéen la distribución diatópica de algunas de estas voces. Los materialesutilizados proceden del Corpus Léxico de Inventarios (CorLexIn), constituidopor documentación notarial correspondiente al Siglo de Oro. Los sufijoscuyos derivados se han analizado son -iego, -eño, -año, -isco, -izo, -aco, -azo.

Our knowledge of the genetic relatedness and structure of ancient hunter-gatherers is however limited, owing to the scarceness and poor molecular preservation of human remains from that period3. Here we analyse 356 ancient hunter-gatherer genomes, including new genomic data for 116 individuals from 14 countries in western and central Eurasia, spanning between 35,000 and 5,000 years ago. We identify a genetic ancestry profile in individuals associated with Upper Palaeolithic Gravettian assemblages from western Europe that is distinct from contemporaneous groups related to this archaeological culture in central and southern Europe4, but resembles that of preceding individuals associated with the Aurignacian culture. This ancestry profile survived during the Last Glacial Maximum (25,000 to 19,000 years ago) in human populations from southwestern Europe associated with the Solutrean culture, and with the following Magdalenian culture that re-expanded northeastward after the Last Glacial Maximum. Conversely, we reveal a genetic turnover in southern Europe suggesting a local replacement of human groups around the time of the Last Glacial Maximum, accompanied by a north-to-south dispersal of populations associated with the Epigravettian culture. From at least 14,000 years ago, an ancestry related to this culture spread from the south across the rest of Europe, largely replacing the Magdalenian-associated gene pool. After a period of limited admixture that spanned the beginning of the Mesolithic, we find genetic interactions between western and eastern European hunter-gatherers, who were also characterized by marked differences in phenotypically relevant variants.

Micromagnets have wide applications in MEMS and micromotors but there are some limitations in current microfabrication processes for permanent magnets. A novel damage-free ultrashort pulsed laser machining process to manufacture complex shapes of Sm2Co17 micromagnets is proposed in this work. This process permits to cut the microparts submerged in a refrigerant fluid. This is especially beneficial for magnets, which are very sensitive to high temperature, as the heat effect of laser cutting on the hard magnetic materials is drastically reduced. The detailed description of the manufacturing process is here presented. Results of several machining processes like milling and cutting and the magnetic characterization of the resulting micromagnets are shown. Complex segment shapes, with 65 µm thickness are achieved, made in high quality Sm2Co17 material. It is demonstrated that no permanent degradation of the magnetic properties appears after laser machining.

La obra cinematográfica del autor Orson Welles compone una reflexión profunda en torno a la idea de simulación. Desde su ópera prima, Ciudadano Kane, hasta su última película de ficción, Una historia inmortal, sus once largometrajes revelan la presencia reiterada de diversos objetos simbólicos que así lo evidencian: proyectores y cinematógrafos, máscaras y velos, reflejos y espejos, luces y sombras, o escenarios, que acompañan a la descripción diegética de simulaciones falaces o representaciones indeterminadas. Mediante el análisis formal de diferentes secuencias, pretendemos definir la postura que Welles ejerce en su cine frente a las ideas de verdad y falsedad, así como la naturaleza metadiscursiva de sus operaciones textuales.

Si l’on se réfère aux nombreuses traces de combustion en contexte archéologique, l’usage récurrent du feu au Paléolithique supérieur en Europe ne fait nul doute. Pourtant, et ce malgré les récentes avancées obtenues par la tracéologie lithique concernant les périodes antérieures ou postérieures, les procédés de production du feu employés au Paléolithique supérieur demeurent à ce jour quasiment inconnus. Après avoir exploré et évalué par l’expérimentation le succès de diverses modalités de contact pyrogène entre un sulfure de fer et diverses pièces lithiques et après avoir réalisé l’étude tracéologique de ces dernières, nous nous sommes concentrés sur la recherche systématique de telles traces sur l’industrie lithique de toute l’archéoséquence du Flageolet I (Bézenac, Dordogne, France). Les niveaux, d’un Aurignacien relativement ancien aux phases moyennes et récentes du Gravettien (d’après les dates radiocarbone : Rigaud et al. 1996), ont livré une quinzaine de pièces portant les caractères macroscopiques et microscopiques d’un contact tangentiel avec un sulfure de fer (e.g. pyrite ou marcasite), le plus souvent percussif. À l’échelle microscopique, les striations caractéristiques observées ont des orientations récurrentes, généralement parallèles à l’axe d’allongement des pièces, et cohérentes avec un usage en briquet, permettant d’écarter une origine taphonomique. L’ensemble des stigmates macro- et microscopiques, leurs localisations sur la pièce et relativement les uns aux autres, la morphologie et le gabarit des pièces nous permettent, par comparaison avec un référentiel expérimental sur mesure et au vu des données déjà disponibles dans la littérature, de proposer pour chaque zone utilisée un mode de fonctionnement. En ressort une grande diversité des supports employés comme briquets, de leur durée d’usage mais aussi des modalités de contact avec le sulfure de fer, que nous comparons aux quelques exemples recensés pour le Paléolithique supérieur et les périodes qui l’encadrent. If we refer to the many traces of combustion in an archaeological context, the recurrent use of fire in the Upper Paleolithic in Europe is beyond doubt. However, despite the recent advances obtained by lithic use-wear analysis concerning earlier or later periods, the means of producing fire during the Upper Paleolithic are almost unknown to this day. After having explored and evaluated through experimentation the success of various methods of contact between an iron sulphide and various lithic artifacts and after having carried out the use-wear analysis of the latter, we focused on the systematic search for such traces on the lithic material of all the archeosequence of Flageolet I (Bézenac, Dordogne, France). The levels, from a relatively early Aurignacian to the middle and recent phases of the Gravettian (according to the radiocarbon dates : Rigaud et al. 2016), have yielded some fifteen lithic artifacts with the macroscopic and microscopic attributes of tangential contact with iron sulphide (e.g. pyrite or marcasite), most often percussive. On a microscopic scale, the characteristic striations observed have recurrent orientations, generally parallel to the axis of elongation of the artefacts, and consistent with their use as strike-a-lights, making it possible to rule out a taphonomic origin. All the macro- and microscopic traces, their locations on the archeological pieces and relative to each other, the morphology and the size of the artifacts allow us, by comparison with a custom-made set of experimental lithics and in view of the data already available in the literature, to propose for each used zone an operating mode. This shows a great diversity of the supports used as strike-a-lights, of their duration of use and modes of contact with the iron sulphide, which we compare to the few examples identified for the Upper Paleolithic and the surrounding time periods.

Oxidative stress is a harmful effect induced on the skin by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), including benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) air pollutants. This effect is amplified by the additive damaging effect of the sun, especially through the UVA light component. Besides being one of the main compounds that make up air pollution, BaP can also be found in tar, tobacco smoke, and various foods. In addition to its direct carcinogenic potential, BaP can act as a photosensitizer absorbing sunlight in the UVA range and thus generating ROS and 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Fernblock

Non-melanoma skin cancer has recently seen an increase in prevalence, and it is estimated that this grow will continue in the coming years. In this sense, the importance of therapy effectiveness has increased, especially photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy has attracted much attention as a minimally invasive, selective and repeatable approach for skin cancer treatment and prevention. Although its high efficiency, this strategy has also faced problems related to tumor resistance, where the tumor microenvironment has gained a well-deserved role in recent years. Tumor microenvironment denotes a wide variety of elements, such as cancer-associated fibroblasts, immune cells, endothelial cells or the extracellular matrix, where their interaction and the secretion of a wide diversity of cytokines. Therefore, the need of designing new strategies targeting elements of the tumor microenvironment to overcome the observed resistance has become evident. To this end, in this review we focus on the role of cancer-associated fibroblasts and tumor-associated macrophages in the resistance to photodynamic therapy. We are also exploring new approaches consisting in the combination of new and old drugs targeting these cells with photodynamic therapy to enhance treatment outcomes of non-melanoma skin cancer.

Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is the most common malignancy worldwide, with rising incidence in the recent years. It includes basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Several non-invasive therapies have been developed for its treatment such as topical 5-Fluorouracil (5FU) and photodynamic therapy (PDT), among others. Despite both are appropriated for NMSC treatment, recurrence cases have been reported. To prevent this, in this work we explore the potential of the combination of PDT and 5FU to treat SCC and BCC. First we evaluate the efficacy of PDT in cells resistant to 5FU. For this purpose, we use SCC-13 and CSZ-1 cells, obtained from a human SCC and a murine BCC, respectively. We first induced 5FU resistance in these cell lines by repeated treatments with the drug and then, the efficacy to PDT was evaluated. The results obtained indicated that SCC-5FU resistant cells were sensible to PDT administration, whereas BCC-5FU resistant cells were also resistant to PDT. The observed responses in both cell lines are in concordance to Protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels produced after the incubation with MAL and subsequent light exposure. The obtained data support the fact that PDT seems to be an appropriate therapeutic option to be administered after 5FU resistance in SCC. Dar propina es un acto sencillo que no suele relacionarse con la entrega de grandes cantidades de dinero, pero dependiendo del lugar del mundo donde se dé, no solo eso cambia, sino también la norma social que hay detrás. Existe una serie de factores que alteran la percepción de los clientes a la hora de dar propina, y que completan los motivos por los que se suele dar. En este trabajo fin de grado se busca explicar esas causas y factores, además de tratar otros temas estrechamente relacionados con las propinas como son: la forma en que pagan impuestos, cómo son reguladas por la ley, los problemas de riesgo moral que conllevan o cómo se compaginan con los salarios.

Exposure to sun and especially to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) exerts well known detrimental effects on skin which are implicated in malignancy. UVR induces production of cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs), immediately during exposure and even hours after the exposure, these latter being called dark-CPDs, as consequence of the effects of different reactive species that are formed. Fernblock® (FB), an aqueous extract of Polypodium leucotomos, has proven to have photoprotective and antioxidant effects on skin. The aim of our work was to investigate the potential photoprotective effect of FB against dark-CPD formation. Murine melanocytes (B16-F10) were exposed to UVA radiation and the production of dark-CPDs and different reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS and RNS) was measured. Significant dark-CPD formation could be seen at 3 h after UVA irradiation, which was inhibited by the pre-treatment of cells with FB. Formation of nitric oxide, superoxide and peroxynitrite was increased after irradiation, consistent with the increased CPD formation. FB successfully reduced the production of these reactive species. Hence, these results show how dark-CPDs are formed in UVA irradiated melanocytes, and that FB acts as a potential antioxidant and ROS scavenger, preventing the DNA damage induced by sun exposure.

El presente artículo analiza la representación de los cuerpos femeninos en los tres primeros largometrajes del director Carlos Vermut: Diamond Flash (2011), Magical Girl (2014) y Quién te cantará (2018). Mediante una perspectiva interdisciplinar que conjuga la semiótica y la teoría fílmica feminista, abordamos las modalidades de identificación articuladas por la enunciación respecto de los personajes femeninos protagonistas. Recurriendo al análisis textual como metodología, nuestro estudio concluye que las mujeres del universo vermutiano están condenadas a experimentar una corporeidad abyecta, forzadas a escoger entre la reinvención identitaria o la muerte.

PDAC has a low 5-year survival rate of ~10% which has not changed much over the past few decades. Desmoplasia, characterized by deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) elements, such as collagen and hyaluronic acid (HA) is a hallmark feature of the PDAC (pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma) microenvironment. The mechanical and biological barrier imposed by high desmoplastic content in PDAC tumors makes them refractory to conventional chemotherapeutics and is a major cause of immune cell exclusion, observed in these tumors, resulting in a dismal response to immunotherapy. Only ~1-3% of PDAC patients respond to immune checkpoint therapy, highlighting the need for novel therapeutic strategies to overcome treatment resistance observed in these tumors. In this regard, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and the associated phenomenon of photodynamic priming (PDP) has been demonstrated to overcome various physiological and mechanical barriers, in pre-clinical models of desmoplastic PDAC, and sensitizing them to subsequent therapies. PDT involves the administration of a relatively non-toxic molecule, referred to as photosensitizer, which can be activated by external irradiation and in the presence of molecular oxygen results in the formation of reactive molecular species (RMS). While the RMS generated during the process can induce immunogenic cell death it has been recently demonstrated to modulate ECM thereby permeabilizing the tumors to drugs and allowing for increased immune cell infiltration. In this study, using a syngeneic immunocompetent KPC PDAC model, we demonstrate that a single dose of Visudyne® (an FDA approved photosensitizer formulation) with irradiation at 100 J/cm2, significantly reduced tumor volume and increased survival (Median survival 36.5 days for the control group versus 43 days for the PDT-treated group). Mechanistically, apart from inducing cytotoxicity, PDT significantly reduced Hyaluronic acid content in these tumors leading to an enhanced immune cell infiltration. Importantly, regions of Hyaluronic acid depletion, 72 h post-PDT, were found to have a significantly higher CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell infiltration characterized by CD3+CD4+CD45+ and CD3+CD8a+CD45+ markers, respectively. Our ongoing work is aimed at studying the effect of combining immune checkpoint therapy with PDT for improving survival in these PDAC mouse models. Collectively, these results demonstrate the potential of PDT to not only induce immunogenic cell death in PDAC tumors, but also positively modulate tumor ECM components resulting in an enhanced immune cell infiltration. While the role of ECM in PDAC is extremely complex with both tumor restraining and tumor promoting roles, the potential of a single clinically approved treatment modality, PDT, in modulating ECM and enhancing immunogenicity warrants further investigation in a tumor type which has not benefitted much from conventional therapies. In this study, we evaluate the potential of FB to prevent the damage induced by a combination of BaP and UVA light on human keratinocyte and mouse melanocyte cell lines (HaCaT and B16-F10, respectively). In particular, we have analyzed the capacity of FB to counteract the alterations caused on cellular morphology, viability, oxidative stress and melanogenic signaling pathway activation. Our data indicate that FB prevented cell damage and reduced oxidative stress and melanogenic signaling pathway activation caused by a combination of BaP and UVAlightirradiation. Altogether, our findings support the fact that FB is able to prevent skin damage caused by the exposure to a combination of UVA and the air pollutant BaP

For the past decade, the reevaluation of the Laborian, a chronocultural ensemble dated around 12,500-11,000 cal BP and stratigraphically located between the Late Azilian and the Mesolithic Sauveterrian, has made it possible to revitalize the research of the Final Paleolithic, during the Pleistocene-Holocene transition. Several works have thus been carried out in recent years on cave and shelter sites, such as Peyrazet in the Lot, the Cuze de Sainte-Anastasie in the Cantal, Auberoche or the Pont d’Ambon in the Dordogne, etc. Fewer open-air sites are to be found in the Aquitaine Basin, and this is even rarer for the Laborian. We can thus mention the Manirac deposits (E. Ducassé excavations) in the Gers, Angoulême (excavations recently carried out by M. Biard) and Port-de-Penne (L. Detrain excavations). The interdisciplinary study conducted at the Port-de-Penne outdoor site is an opportunity to raise questions about the socio-economic and functional variations of the sites during this period. Twenty-five years after the field work and an initial review of the material for the SPF session in Bordeaux in 2012 (Langlais, Naudinot, Peresani, org.), a new team has come together to cross-reference the “ petro-technno-typo-functional” approaches to lithic remains with the zooarchaeological study of faunal remains. The field archives have made it possible to produce vertical projections that specify the archaeosequence of the site with two main units, recent and ancient, separated by an interface level. Radiocarbon dating supports the hypothesis of attributing the two occupations to the Ancient Laborian (narrowed in time), providing identical morphotypes of Malaurie-type backed points and a technical identity on the blades production. From the point of view of the spatial organization of the remains within these two occupations, several elements are worth noting. This work has made it possible to highlight the succession of two occupations with a cultural kinship, particularly in the structuring of domestic space (around a two-lobed hearth and secondary structures). This type of home remains unknown for the moment (except perhaps at Champ-Chalatras, excavated by J.-F. Pasty) but it is likely that a specific function was assigned to them. The two occupations present differences in terms of spatial extension and one can question the number of domestic units in the upper occupation, but the taphonomic conditions and the impact of a medieval tile kiln installation was not entirely without consequence. The recent occupation also delivered elements of bone industry and shell ornaments. From the petroarchaeological point of view, the ancient occupation indicates a pioneering behavior with a massive importation of allochthonous silicites (Charentes, West Périgord) while the recent occupation is characterized by a tightening on regional materials (Lot and Dordogne valleys). The techno-typical-functional data compared to the fauna data illustrate a technical kinship of the successive groups while highlighting fine variations (share of impacted reinforcements, recycling rate of knives into end tools, main and secondary activities...). Confronted with the classic “ residential vs. logistical” opposition model, the data obtained from Port-de-Penne allow us to put this debate into perspective by showing an overlap and variations in socio-economic behaviour but also in the temporality of occupations. The two occupations of Port-de-Penne thus provide valuable evidence for the same type of site organized around specific households, suggesting a regional anchoring and a consolidation of cultural networks for the recent occupation., Dans le cadre de la réévaluation du Laborien, ensemble chronoculturel daté autour de 12 500-11 000 cal BP et calé stratigraphiquement entre l’Azilien récent et le Mésolithique sauveterrien, l’étude interdisciplinaire menée sur le site de plein air de Port-de-Penne est l’occasion de soulever des questions autour des variations socio-économiques et fonctionnelles des sites durant cette période. Vingt-cinq ans après les travaux menés sur le terrain et un premier réexamen du matériel pour la séance SPF de Bordeaux en 2012 (Langlais, Naudinot, Peresani, org.), une nouvelle équipe s’est réunie afin de croiser l’approche «pétro-techno-typo-fonctionnelle » des restes lithiques avec l’étude archéozoologique des restes de faune, d’industrie osseuse et de quelques coquillages. Les archives et les enregistrements de terrain ont permis de réaliser des projections sur un plan vertical – précisant ainsi l’archéoséquence – et sur un plan horizontal pour appréhender l’organisation spatiale des vestiges. Ce travail a permis de souligner la succession de deux unités archéostratigraphiques (ou UA) présentant une homogénéité culturelle, notamment dans la structuration de l’espace domestique (autour d’un foyer bilobé et de structures secondaires). Les datations radiocarbone appuient l’hypothèse d’une attribution au Laborien ancien des deux UA, livrant par ailleurs des morphotypes identiques de pointes à dos (type Malaurie), et une identité technique sur les productions laminaires. Du point de vue pétroarchéologique, l’UA ancienne indique un comportement pionnier avec une importation massive de silicites allochtones (Charentes, ouest du Périgord) tandis que l’UA récente se distingue par un resserrement de l’approvisionnement sur des matériaux régionaux (vallées du Lot et de la Dordogne). Les données techno-économiques des équipements lithiques croisées aux analyses des vestiges fauniques illustrent une parenté des occupants successifs tout en soulignant des variations fines (part d’armatures impactées, taux de recyclage des couteaux en outils d’extrémité, activités principales et secondaires…). Confrontées au modèle classique d’opposition «résidentiel vs logistique » des sites, les données obtenues sur Port-de-Penne permettent de relativiser ce débat en montrant une imbrication et des variations dans les comportements socio- économiques mais également dans la temporalité des occupations., Langlais Mathieu, Delvigne Vincent, Jacquier Jérémie, Chevallier Aude, Marquebielle Benjamin, Rigaud Solange, Detrain Luc, Morala André, Fat Cheung Célia. The European Solutrean has yielded one of the oldest chert assemblages documenting intentional heat treatment. Many questions about social and economic factors arise in this context. For example, did Solutrean knappers heat-treat only specific types of chert? Were specific heating techniques adapted to specific types of chert? We investigate these questions by analyzing 43 chert artifacts from Laugerie-Haute. We use near-infrared spectroscopy to identify heat-treated artifacts made from four different types of chart, and to estimate their heating temperatures. We identify 13/37 test pieces as heat-treated. Only 5 of these 13 pieces (38%) would have been identified as such macroscopically (based on gloss contrast). The overall magnitude of gloss, cannot be used to identify heat-treated chert artifacts. These findings have implications for future studies of the prevalence of heat-treated artifacts in Solutrean assemblages. Visual identification based on surface gloss is likely to only recognize the smaller part of heat-treated artifacts.

INTRODUCTION The results obtained from the establishment of a multimodal rehabilitation program in elective colorectal surgery by a multidisciplinary team at our center are presented. Protocols are carried out to achieve optimization of perioperative care and the analysis of the rates of complications and morbidity and mortality. MATERIAL AND METHODS Through a retrospective study, a control group of patients who underwent elective colorectal surgery prior to the implantation of the rehabilitation program, included during a period from May and October 2018, with a total of 68 patients, were compared with the group of optimized patients, who were operated between December 2018 and June 2019, with a total of 80 patients. RESULTS The readmission rate 30 days after discharge between the two groups is analyzed, showing a decrease in the multimodal rehabilitation group, with a readmission rate of 5.9%, compared to the control group, which was 8.8%. A decrease was observed in both surgical complications (35.3%) and medical complications (22.1%) in the multimodal rehabilitation group compared to the control group. A decrease in the mortality rate is observed in the multimodal rehabilitation group, being 1.5% with respect to the control group, which was 2.9%. CONCLUSIONS The multimodal rehabilitation system is a feasible and safe method that requires the implementation of protocols that must be carried out by a multidisciplinary team, and that presents satisfactory results with improved morbidity and mortality.

Even when neural networks are widely used in a large number of applications, they are still considered as black boxes and present some difficulties for dimensioning or evaluating their prediction error. This has led to an increasing interest in the overlapping area between neural networks and more traditional statistical methods, which can help overcome those problems. In this article, a mathematical framework relating neural networks and polynomial regression is explored by building an explicit expression for the coefficients of a polynomial regression from the weights of a given neural network, using a Taylor expansion approach. This is achieved for single hidden layer neural networks in regression problems. The validity of the proposed method depends on different factors like the distribution of the synaptic potentials or the chosen activation function. The performance of this method is empirically tested via simulation of synthetic data generated from polynomials to train neural networks with different structures and hyperparameters, showing that almost identical predictions can be obtained when certain conditions are met. Lastly, when learning from polynomial generated data, the proposed method produces polynomials that approximate correctly the data locally., 39 pages, 15 figures

Interpretability of neural networks and their underlying theoretical behavior remain an open field of study even after the great success of their practical applications, particularly with the emergence of deep learning. In this work, NN2Poly is proposed: a theoretical approach to obtain an explicit polynomial model that provides an accurate representation of an already trained fully-connected feed-forward artificial neural network (a multilayer perceptron or MLP). This approach extends a previous idea proposed in the literature, which was limited to single hidden layer networks, to work with arbitrarily deep MLPs in both regression and classification tasks. The objective of this paper is to achieve this by using a Taylor expansion on the activation function, at each layer, and then using several combinatorial properties to calculate the coefficients of the desired polynomials. Discussion is presented on the main computational challenges of this method, and the way to overcome them by imposing certain constraints during the training phase. Finally, simulation experiments as well as an application to a real data set are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Review of the book: El lexico de los documentos del monasterio de San Salvador de Ona (siglos X-XIII).

Exposure to sun and especially to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) exerts well known detrimental effects on skin which are implicated in malignancy. UVR induces production of cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs), immediately during exposure and even hours after the exposure, these latter being called dark-CPDs, as consequence of the effects of different reactive species that are formed. Fernblock® (FB), an aqueous extract of Polypodium leucotomos, has proven to have photoprotective and antioxidant effects on skin. The aim of our work was to investigate the potential photoprotective effect of FB against dark-CPD formation. Murine melanocytes (B16-F10) were exposed to UVA radiation and the production of dark-CPDs and different reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS and RNS) was measured. Significant dark-CPD formation could be seen at 3 h after UVA irradiation, which was inhibited by the pre-treatment of cells with FB. Formation of nitric oxide, superoxide and peroxynitrite was increased after irradiation, consistent with the increased CPD formation. FB successfully reduced the production of these reactive species. Hence, these results show how dark-CPDs are formed in UVA irradiated melanocytes, and that FB acts as a potential antioxidant and ROS scavenger, preventing the DNA damage induced by sun exposure.

El objetivo del trabajo es revisar la terminología de un campo muy específico del léxico agrícola en el siglo xvii: las herramientas de corte. Es decir, las que podríamos englobar bajo hiperónimos como hoz, hacha, rozón o guadaña. Para ello se utiliza un corpus, el CorLexIn, que se nutre de documentación notarial sobre registros de bienes. El estudio es, por tanto, histórico pero también diatópico, por lo que los datos obtenidos se cruzan con los atlas lingüísticos modernos, en los que esos mismos conceptos suelen aparecer regularmente. This study focuses on a review of the terminology related to a very specific field of agricultural vocabulary: cutting tools, that is, those which we could refer to using hypernyms like sickle, axe or scythe. With this purpose, we have used CorLexIn corpus, a corpus based on notarial records that contain mostly inventories of goods. Our work provides a historic perspective, but also diatopical, therefore our results have been collated with the information supplied by modern linguistic atlases, in which these concepts are usually included.

Italian loanwords have been mainly studied based on their use in the cult register or literary register. Our purpose is to analyse what extent these borrowings reached the general or common language or, on the contrary, if they did not transcend beyond educated language. For our study we have used the CorLexIn corpus, a corpus that registers numerous lists of goods from all the Hispanic world during the Spanish Golden Age and, due to its qualities, includes a wide sample of the daily lexicon, as well as other corpora with similar characteristics. The observed result is that, frequently, these loanwords have a different level of validity depending on the corpus that we use as a reference.

In this work, the preparation of regular nanosized columnar structures of titanium dioxide by means of glancing angle deposition with magnetron sputtering (MS-GLAD) followed by thermal annealing is reported. MS-GLAD gives rise to metallic titanium columnar structures with regular width and length that after thermal treatment are fully oxidized to form TiO2 nanocolumns that maintain the morphological features of the original metallic ones. Further functionalization with gold by means of multiple ion cluster source results in well-dispersed Au nanoparticles across the nanocolumns’ surface with a narrow size distribution centered at ca. 8.5 nm. The obtained nanostructures show photocatalytic self-cleaning activity as shown by the elimination of an organic layer deposited on their surface and the detection of hydroxyl radicals. Photoelectrochemical measurements show a better charge separation at the Au/TiO2 interface. In addition, wettability studies show that the degree of hydrophobicity of the surface is increased by the presence of nanocolumns, both in the dark and under UV illumination. This behavior is not modified by the presence of Au nanoparticles on the surface. Le site de Brignol fournit un nouvel ensemble archeologique a rattacher a un facies tres restreint de l'Aurignacien recent, celui a grattoirs Caminade. Represente a l'heure actuelle de maniere significative sur seulement huit sites du Sud-Ouest francais, ce facies reste jusqu'a aujourd'hui relativement enigmatique au sein du stade recent de la macro-culture aurignacienne. S'agit-il d'un facies fonctionnel, complementaire d'un autre facies de cette meme phase chronologique, ou bien au contraire d'une entite regionale et/ou chronologique distincte ? Plusieurs facteurs compliquent l'obtention aisee d'une reponse a cette question. Tout d'abord, des problemes taphonomiques dans les sites stratifies obscurcissent notre comprehension de la relation entre les grattoirs Caminade et les autres facies de l'Aurignacien recent. D'autre part, l'absence, a ce jour, de remontages sur une telle serie nous a empeches de completer le schema operatoire existant de ce mode de production, ce qui est necessaire pour comprendre son articulation avec d'autres modes de productions connues pour cette phase. L'etude technoeconomique de la serie lithique de Brignol, des remontages et leur croisement avec des analyses technofonctionnelles, petroarcheologiques et taphonomiques, fournissent un nouveau jalon pour la comprehension de ce facies particulier. La description du schema operatoire de la production des grattoirs Caminade, les donnees traceologiques et l'analyse des possibles fonctions du site permettent d'envisager de nouvelles hypotheses a explorer au sujet du fonctionnement de ces objets et plus largement sur le statut de ce facies au sein de l'Aurignacien recent.

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la variación diatópica e histórica de los resultados del latín JÜGU. Además del normativo yugo, la dialectología moderna nos ofrece múltiples variantes formales, pero estas están escasamente representadas en los textos históricos. A partir de un corpus específico como es el CorLexIn, se analizan las variantes registradas en textos notariales del Siglo de Oro y su distribución geográfica. Con los datos aportados, se propone una explicación de conjunto para la evolución de JÜGU en castellano. El ejemplo es significativo de la necesidad de contar con fuentes diferentes a las convencionales (jurídicas, literarias, técnicas, etc.) para trabajar con garantías en lexicografía histórica.

Trabajo presentado en la 6th European Conference on Environmental Applications of Advanced Oxidation Processes (EAAOP6), celebrada en Portorož (Eslovenia), del 26 al 30 de junio de 2019, Self-cleaning and anti-fogging technology is already used in a variety of the products today, among which glazing products prevail. Their function is based on two principles, either hydrophobicity (Lotus effect) or photocatalytic hydrophilicity. In the latter case, the self-cleaning action is based on the combination of photocatalysis and photoinduced superhydrophilicity, where dirt removal by uniform spreading of water over the whole surface is improved with photocatalytic decomposition of organic contaminants (Zhang et al., 2012). In spite of the high readiness level of this technology, with competitive products already in the market, there is room to improve the properties of existing self-cleaning and anti-fogging surfaces by designing and tailoring new nanoarchitectures for light-activated thin films (Lavrenčič Štangar et al., 2014). Among photoactive materials, TiO2 gathers nearly all the desired characteristics of a photocatalyst, with the main exception that it is only active under UV light and thus can only use around 5% of the solar spectrum. The synthesis and applications of titania 1D and 2D structures such as nanorods, nanowires and nanotubes has increased in the last decades due to their singular properties in terms of surface area, charge separation and transport, and tuneability (Fresno et al., 2014). In this work, we have obtained highly regular TiO2 nanostructures by oxidation of metallic Ti nanocolumns (NCs) obtained on silicon wafers by the so-called glancing angle deposition technique by magnetron sputtering (MS-GLAD). MS-GLAD is a powerful technique for producing nanostructured coatings in large areas and with a large variety of morphologies (Izquierdo-Barba et al., 2015). In addition, the TiO2 NCs have been decorated with gold nanoparticles (NPs) by means of high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (Mayoral et al., 2019).

Ha sido un proyecto fluido y completo que realizado durante una estancia de erasmus y, a pesar de ello, la comunicación con el director ha sido impecable. El resultado ha sido satisfactorio para ambos y se han podido utilizar las herramientas y conocimientos adquiridos durante todo el grado.

El término Búsqueda de Fuentes de Gas (GSL, del inglés Gas Source Localization) hace referencia al problema de encontrar el punto de un entorno desde el que un gas concreto está siendo emitido. Existen numerosas aplicaciones prácticas para las técnicas de búsqueda de fuentes de gas, incluyendo la localización de fugas en tuberías y la detección de sustancias explosivas o contrabando. El uso de robots móviles equipados con narices electrónicas presenta una perspectiva prometedora a la hora de abordar este problema, pero aún es un campo de investigación abierto con numerosos desafíos por resolver. Una de las circunstancias que dificulta el desarrollo de métodos de búsqueda de fuentes de gas es la ausencia de estudios comparativos que muestren la eficacia de las estrategias existentes. El presente trabajo pretende aportar un estudio de esas características sobre el rendimiento de varios conocidos métodos de búsqueda de fuentes bajo diversas condiciones ambientales, incluyendo entornos realistas con flujo de aire turbulento. Los experimentos que componen este estudio se llevarán a cabo utilizando GADEN, un simulador de dispersión de gases desarrollado para aplicaciones robóticas, y la arquitectura robótica de ROS.

International audience; The use of multi-agent simulation (MAS), which were engaged as an exploration, aims to simulate potential theoretical paths of siliceous rock fragments, according to a gravity model and altimetry data from various IGN altitude databases. The objective is to identify areas where eroded siliceous rock fragments may have be concentrated. The aim is therefore to target prospecting activities on these theoretical zones to have the best chance of finding concentrations of these rock fragments. This approach is part of the work of several on going Projets Collectifs de Recherche (PCR) "Réseaux de lithothèques". One of the working axes of these projects is to improve the spatial knowledge of flint formations whose prehistoric populations were able to extract resources for their needs. Main principles of SMA and first results, obtained using NetLogo software and a gravity model, are presented and discussed.; L'utilisation présentée ici de la simulation multi-agents (SMA), qui ont été engagés de façon exploratoire, vise à simuler les parcours théoriques potentiels des fragments de roches siliceuses, selon un modèle gravitaire et des données d'altimétrie de diverses bases de données d'altitude de l'IGN. L'objectif est de permettre d'identifier des zones où les fragments de roches siliceuses érodées ont pu être concentrés. Il s'agit ainsi de cibler les actions de prospection sur ces zones théoriques pour avoir le plus de chances de retrouver des concentrations de ces fragments rocheux. Cette démarche s'inscrit dans le cadre des travaux de plusieurs Projets Collectifs de Recherche (PCR) "Réseaux de lithothèques" qui sont en cours. L'un des axes de travail de ces projets est d'améliorer la connaissance spatiale des formations à silex dont les populations préhistoriques ont pu extraire des ressources pour leurs besoins. Les grands principes de la SMA seront évoqués et des premiers résultats, obtenus à l'aide du logiciel NetLogo et d'un modèle gravitaire, sont présentés et discutés.

This paper revolves around the neutro de materia in Castilian language from a diachronic perspective. The distinction between the notion of continuous/ non-continuous in the gender of nouns entails apparently anomalous concordances, not only with adjectives (“lana blanco”), but also in other discourse elements (“la lana lo vendieron”). The neutro de materia was widely extended in both plateaux of Castilia and has been so far studied from a synchronic perspective. The study of this topic is based on the materials of a corpus of unpublished notarial documents of the Golden Century (CorLexIn), which provides both plenty of examples and the possibility to locate them geographically in the past.

Une carte des principales formations à silex du sud de la France est en cours de réalisation. Elle propose, à tous les préhistoriens, une base nécessaire au développement d’études interrégionales sur la circulation des silex. Elle est le fruit d’une collaboration entre des acteurs impliqués dans la problématique de caractérisation de la provenance des silex. Elle regroupe les résultats de leurs prospections systématiques ou ciblées dans six régions (Aquitaine, Auvergne, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, Rhône-Alpes). Elle intègre, en plus, le dépouillement d’un grand nombre de documents : i) les principaux articles et thèses traitant des formations à silex du sud de la France ; ii) plus de 200 fiches issues de la base de données du sous-sol BSS du BRGM, qui permettent de visualiser des logs ou des documents scannés ; iii) 529 cartes géologiques à 1/50 000 et leurs notices. La carte est organisée en trois couches de données superposables : une carte des affleurements ou gîtes primaires, une carte des altérites et des formations superficielles remaniées et une carte des formations alluviales. La carte existera dans deux versions numériques aisément actualisables : une version dans un format PDF et une version sous la forme d’un SIG. C’est l’ensemble de la formation contenant le ou les même(s) type(s) de silex qui est prise en compte, le terme de formation désignant un terrain possédant des caractères communs et qui constitue un ensemble cartographiable. Chacune des formations recensées fait l’objet d’une notice simplifiée qui décrit l’encaissant et - le ou les - type(s) de silex présent(s). Ces notices descriptives et explicatives contiennent des photos à toutes les échelles (de la formation à l’échelle microscopique). Des références bibliographiques géologiques et archéologiques complèteront chaque notice. La version définitive de ces notices constituera un atlas. Les archéologues et géologues disposeront ainsi de fiches descriptives pour chaque type de silex et son encaissant. Elles serviront aux diagnoses analytiques (structures, textures et compositions minéralogiques). A map of the main flint bearing formations in the South of France is under construction. It will provide an essential basis to develop interregional studies about flint procurements and travels. It results from collaboration between actors involved in topic flint sourcing. It includes results of their systematic surveys and studies in six regions (Aquitaine, Auvergne, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Provence-Alpes - Côte d’Azur, Rhône-Alpes). Moreover, it includes a large number of associated data : i) The main papers and those dealing with flint bearing formations of southern France, ii) more than 200 records from the under-soil database BSS BRGM, which give access to logs or scanned documents iii) 529 geological maps at 1/50 000 and their leaflets. The map is organized in three superimposed layers : a map of outcrops or primary deposits, a map of surficial weathered formation and a revised map of alluvial formations. The map is available in two versions which are easily updatable : a PDF version and an interactive GIS version. In this document, every formation containing the same type (s) (s) of flint is taken into account and forms a mappable entity. Every listed formation is linked to a text which describes the parent rock and/or the type(s) of flint(s). These records contain descriptive and explanatory pictures at different scale (naked eye to microscopic scale). Geological and archaeological references complement every record. The final version will constitute an atlas. Archaeologists and geologists will find description sheets of every type of flint and bearing rock. They will help for analytical diagnoses (structure, texture and mineralogical composition).

Introducción. Es suficientemente conocida hoy la importancia que llegó a adquirir el vino y su consumo en la vida cotidiana, social, económica y religiosa de la antigua Grecia. De ello tenemos cumplidas muestras en las fuentes escritas, de cualquiera de sus épocas, que han llegado hasta nosotros, bien sean fuentes puramente literarias, bien sean escritos médicos o agronómicos, o bien se trate de papiros o inscripciones. Pero también los descubrimientos arqueológicos (vasos, principalmente de cerámica, pinturas o monedas) aportan su parte a ese conocimiento. Y de todas estas fuentes, sobre todo de las literarias, médicas y agronómicas, se ha hecho uso en el presente trabajo. El vino en la antigua Grecia (como en otros pueblos primitivos del área mediterránea) fue al principio un producto minoritario y caro, una bebida propia héroes y de clases altas y gentes pudientes, con escasa presencia en otros ámbitos, pero su consumo no tardaría en popularizarse y extenderse prácticamente a todas las capas de la sociedad. Fue considerado desde siempre como un excelente alimento, tuvo una presencia muy importante en la medicina y se le vio como el mayor regalo que los dioses pudieron hacer nunca a los hombres mortales. Y estaba tan presente en la sociedad griega antigua que terminó por formar parte de su cultura y civilización como un elemento indisociable de ellas. 2. Síntesis. Para atender y satisfacer el considerable consumo que se hizo de vino en la Grecia antigua (sobre todo a partir de la época clásica) debieron de cultivarse viñas y de elaborarse vino un poco por todo su amplio y variado territorio. Y, en consecuencia, debieron de existir muchas variedades de vides y también muchas zonas de producción de vino y, por consiguiente, también muchos nombres, tanto de vides como de vinos. Debido a ello la principal pretensión del presente trabajo ha sido precisamente construir un catálogo o inventario de las vides que se cultivaron y de los vinos que existieron y se bebían en el territorio griego (Grecia continental e islas del mar Egeo más las zonas del Asia Menor y la Magna Grecia) y de los autores que los citan, desde los tiempos de Homero (siglo VIII a.C.) hasta el fin del mundo clásico (siglo VI d. C.)...

Current trends in machining processes are focused in three goals: to increase the productivity and the reliability and to minimize costs. In this context, the development of signal monitoring systems is of vital importance for surface roughness inspection. One of the research lines associated to this context is oriented to predict surface roughness using indirect signal analysis, such as cutting forces or vibrations in the machining process. This paper analyzes the results obtained when comparing different nature signals combined with cutting parameters. The final goal is to quantify the deviations obtained with different monitoring signals for establishing the best ones to use as roughness evaluators. The best predictions were obtained when force and cutting conditions were combined together. The absolute error values remains always below 1.28 and 1.11 µm when using the median and root mean square (RMS) as descriptors, respectively.

Dans le cadre d’une etude regionale sur les modalites chronologiques et environnementales de la disparition du Renne (Rangifer tarandus) et de l’expansion du Cerf (Cervus elaphus) et du Chevreuil (Capreolus capreolus), une serie d’analyses isotopiques en isotopes stables (13C, 15N) et de datations 14C par SMA sur collagene a ete realisee sur des cervides des sites du Tardiglaciaire du Moulin du Roc (Saint-Chamassy) et de La Gare de Couze (Lalinde) situes en Dordogne. Les resultats des datations directes confirment la cohabitation du Renne et du Chevreuil au cours du Tardiglaciaire. Des cerfs dates des couches du Magdalenien superieur de La Gare de Couze et du Magdalenien final du Moulin du Roc s’averent contemporains de la fin du Dryas recent ou GS-1. De plus, la couche brune-bigarree du Moulin du Roc a livre un reste de Renne date de 11860 ± 60 ans BP (13480-13860 ans cal BP, GrA-44537) qui situe ce specimen au debut de l’Allerod ou GI-1c. Cette donnee confirme la presence du Renne en Dordogne apres 12000 ans BP (ca. 13800 ans cal BP), alors que cette espece semble avoir deja disparu dans la region montagneuse des Pyrenees francaises et de la plaine septentrionale du Bassin parisien. Les teneurs en 13C des rennes de Dordogne montrent une legere diminution attribuable a la baisse de la disponibilite du lichen probablement liee au rechauffement climatique du debut du Bolling. Cette tendance ne semble pas se confirmer avec le Renne de l’Allerod du Moulin du Roc dont les teneurs isotopiques sont semblables a celles de ses congeneres du Dryas ancien. Par ailleurs, les rennes du sud-ouest de la France presentent une teneur moyenne en 15N plus elevee que celles des rennes du Poitou, du Bassin parisien et des Alpes du Nord et Jura entre 12100 et 13400 ans BP (ca. 14000-16600 ans cal BP). Ce resultat pourrait refleter la reprise plus precoce de la pedogenese dans le territoire du sud-ouest qui n’a pas subi la proximite d’un front glaciaire ou l’emprise directe d’un permafrost continu au cours du Dernier Maximum Glaciaire, a la difference des regions du Bassin parisien et du Jura. Les derniers rennes de Dordogne ont ainsi persiste au-dela de 12 000 ans BP dans un milieu ou la production vegetale s’etait deja intensifiee, permettant la coexistence de differentes especes de cervides. Nous presentons l’hypothese qu’il pourrait s’agir d’une adaptation temporaire aux changements climatiques de l’interstade du Tardiglaciaire par des rennes sedentaires dans le sud-ouest de la France, tandis que les groupes plus mobiles des regions septentrionales ont change leurs aires de repartition en modifiant leur schema de deplacement.

This paper presents a multiresolution method based on the processing of surface images for unmanned visual quality inspection and surface roughness discrimination in turning. Sixteen machining tests were carried out using a constant depth of cut at 1.5 mm and different values for feed rate, in particular 0.15, 0.25, 0.4, and 0.5 mm/rev; cutting speed values were 250, 280, 320, and 350 m/min. With these cutting parameters, the roughness average values achieved covered a significant range between 0.8–14 μm. The methodology proposed is based on the extraction of texture features from part surface images in the frequency domain using wavelet transform. In particular, one-level Haar wavelet transform is applied to the original surface images obtaining four sub-images: a smooth sub-image, a horizontal detail sub-image, a vertical detail sub-image, and a diagonal detail sub-image. These images are used for the extraction of features. Surface evaluation was accomplished by means of the analysis of gray levels in the vertical detail sub-image. Finally, a texture classification was performed by a multilayer Perceptron artificial neural network. Experimental results show that the proposed approach achieves error rates between 2.59% and 4.17%.
