Teachers have an increased prevalence of voice disorders. The present study aimed to investigate the impact of remote teaching on perceived voice fatigue among Italian teachers of all grades during the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.s The participants were 195 female teachers (MThe teachers involved in the study reported higher voice fatigue scores than vocally healthy adults from the general population. Primary school teachers showed higher voice fatigue during remote teaching than both secondary and high school teachers, specifically for the TA and PD dimensions, whereas no difference emerged for IS. The VFI scores of primary school teachers were similar to those of dysphonic individuals.The results of the study confirm that primary school teachers are more vulnerable to developing voice disorders and suggest the need for specific vocal health interventions in case of prolonged remote work.

Hydraulic actuation systems have a broad range of applications covering almost all areas of manufacturing and production and also the service industry. However, it is usual for systems to have low energy efficiency. In recent decades, due to global environmental concerns, research in the field of digital hydraulics to develop more efficient hydraulic systems has increased. In this paper, an analysis of the possible combinations of chambers in a multi-chamber cylinder is presented. A mathematical expression is derived to verify the total number of combinations of chambers that it is possible to achieve for a cylinder with four or more chambers and that result in different constant velocities without cavitation occurring. In addition, a digital hydraulic pump is considered as a supply unit and, since it has discrete output flow rates, an analytical method to combine the pump with a multi-chamber cylinder is developed resulting on a total number of cylinder velocities with a required resolution. For application in a positioning system, design guidelines for an actuator using a cylinder with four chambers and a digital hydraulic pump with three fixed displacement units are presented in which an optimization algorithm for the calculation of the cylinder areas and the volumetric displacement of the pumps is applied. The proposed approaches were applied to design a proof-of-concept and the experimental values presented very good accuracy when compared with the results obtained with the model. Closed-loop position control responses shows that the system can achieve the required setting time with a smooth movement and steady state error around 1 mm.

Atualmente, a tecnologia Blockchain tem se mostrado revolucionária em diversas áreas por todo o mundo, fornecendo transferência global de informações de forma confiável e transparente, implicando o seu necessário reconhecimento pelo ordenamento jurídico brasileiro; ainda que se evidencie a mínima popularização de seu uso no Brasil, essa nova plataforma já foi reconhecida como meio de prova pelo Tribunal de Justiça do Estado de São Paulo. Logo, este projeto tem por objetivo analisar o uso do sistema blockchain como instrumento de desenvolvimento na área jurídica, pontuando a cibersegurança nas relações de aquisições de venda no âmbito cível e nas relações de consumo, considerando-se não apenas a orbita econômica, mas também busca verificar o impacto na segurança das partes, a privacidade de dados e as questões éticas, a fim de garantir o princípio da dignidade humana, do devido processo legal e os direitos da personalidade. A pesquisa utilizou o método exploratório somado em revisão bibliográfica de obras, artigos de periódicos, legislação, doutrina e jurisprudência aplicáveis ao caso, para mostrar a necessidade de previsão da tecnologia blockchain no sistema legislativo brasileiro.

Negli ultimi decenni l’aspettativa di vita si è allungata notevolmente. Allo stesso tempo, i cambiamenti demografici in atto stanno determinando un rapido aumento della popolazione anziana. Pertanto, l’aumento della longevità non si accompagna ad un proporzionale incremento della durata di vita in salute a causa della importante crescita delle malattie età-dipendenti. L’Italia è caratterizzata da una aspettativa di vita tra le più lunghe al mondo, dall’età media più alta in Europa, da una rapida crescita delle malattie croniche e dei relativi costi sanitari. L’invecchiamento della popolazione sta impattando pesantemente sul sistema sanitario, la cui organizzazione territoriale appare inadeguata a gestire la mole crescente di cronicità, come dimostrano le interminabili liste di attesa. La Missione 6 del PNRR prevede importanti investimenti anche nella riorganizzazione della sanità territoriale, con la creazione delle Case e degli Ospedali di Comunità e delle Centrali Operative territoriali e con l’attivazione della telemedicina per favorire la medicina di prossimità. In questa nuova organizzazione, va definito il ruolo della cardiologia territoriale nella gestione delle malattie cardiovascolari – che sono parte preminente della cronicità. Vanno precisati i rapporti con le Case e gli Ospedali della comunità e i loro professionisti, come pure gli strumenti e la formazione per le televisite, il telemonitoraggio e il teleconsulto. Infine, va compreso come portare a livello di popolazione la prevenzione primaria cardiovascolare. Per chiarire tutti questi aspetti è necessaria una tempestiva interlocuzione tra società cardiologiche, Ministero della Salute e Assessorati alla Sanità regionali.

In this work, we present and prove results underlying a method which uses functionals derived from the interaction integral to approximate the stress intensity factors along a three-dimensional crack front. We first prove that the functionals possess a pair of important properties. The functionals are well-defined and continuous for square-integrable tensor fields, such as the gradient of a finite element solution. Furthermore, the stress intensity factors are representatives of such functionals in a space of functions over the crack front. Our second result is an error estimate for the numerical stress intensity factors computed via our method. The latter property of the functionals provides a recipe for numerical stress intensity factors; we apply the functionals to the gradient of a finite element approximation for a specific set of crack front variations, and we calculate the stress intensity factors by inverting the mass matrix for those variations.

Realizar uma revisão literária de estudos publicados recentemente sobre possíveis complicações pós-tratamento de canal em sessão única e trazer uma análise comparativa desta técnica em relação à técnica mais tradicional (duas ou mais sessões). Com a introdução de técnicas e equipamentos contemporâneos, o tratamento endodôntico em sessão única pode ser executado de forma segura e eficaz. Porém, ainda percebe-se muita relutância dos profissionais em relação a incorporação desta técnica na prática clínica, devido as complicações que podem ocorrer na fase pós operatória.. Dentre os achados, foi possível relatar que as complicações mais comuns após a sessão única são: inchaço, sensibilidade à percussão, aumento da mobilidade, distúrbios sistêmicos e, mais comumente, a dor pós-operatória. Porém, o tratamento endodôntico em uma sessão parece ser eficaz e seguro, já que não demonstra diferença significativa em relação ao tratamento realizado em mais de uma sessão. Porém, para uma maior taxa de sucesso, é necessário que nenhuma etapa do tratamento seja negligenciada ou realizada de maneira ineficaz. Além disso, o tratamento de canal em mais de uma sessão ainda pode ser realizado em alguns casos, como por exemplo, em pacientes com disfunções temporomandibulares e em casos de necrose pulpar com presença de lesão periapical. Portanto, mesmo com a evolução de equipamentos e dispositivos endodônticos, a melhor opção de tratamento para cada paciente ainda deve ser realizada de maneira individualizada.

To improve our understanding of reproductive health and sexual function in women with cloacal malformations and other anorectal malformations (ARMs) METHODS: An observational cross-sectional survey was administered to individuals assigned female at birth aged 12 to 55 with ARMs and cloacal malformations cared for at our institution. Data included age of thelarche/menarche and questions on body image, gynecologic anatomy, sexual function, and pregnancy.Twenty-one patients responded in the ARM group and 30 in the cloacal malformation group. There were no differences in median age of thelarche/menarche in patients with ARMs (11/12.5 years) compared with patients with cloacal malformation (11/12 years). Patients with ARMs were more likely to have native vaginal tissue than those with cloacal malformations (n = 18, 82% vs n = 12, 40%; P = .03). There were no differences between groups regarding concerns about dyspareunia and functionality of their vagina (P.05). Forty-two percent of patients with cloacal malformations and 30% of patients with ARMs reported having been sexually active. Two patients with cloacal malformations and 2 with ARMs reported having been pregnant. Patients with cloacal malformations reported a lower quality of life score (80.4) compared with those with ARMs (87.0) (difference4.5).Patients with a cloacal malformation were less likely to have native vaginal tissue and reported a lower quality of life than those with ARMs. Despite this, patients with a cloacal malformation had similar reproductive health and sexual function compared with patients with ARMs. Our results reinforce the need for comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care for all women with ARMs.

No presente artigo aplicam-se técnicas de análise de risco em um regulador de velocidade eletro-hidráulico de uma turbina FRANCIS usada em usinas de centrais hidrelétricas. A análise de risco tem o objetivo de modelar a corrente causal do sistema regulador-turbina, identificando os perigos e riscos que poderão afetar a segurança humana e do equipamento, além do risco de perda de continuidade do fornecimento de energia. A função do regulador de velocidade é controlar o deslocamento angular das pás que promovem a abertura e fechamento do distribuidor. O movimento do distribuidor controla a vazão e a rotação da turbina de acordo com a demanda de energia requerida pela central, de forma a garantir a qualidade de produção de energia elétrica. No entanto, condições potenciais de risco oriundas de fatores externos podem, em caso de falha do regulador de velocidade, ocasionar a perda de controle da turbina. Nestas condições, faz-se necessário interromper a vazão de água por meio do fechamento do distribuidor da turbina. Nesse sentido, realizou-se a análise de risco por meio da análise de eventos por rede causal (CNEA) a fim de identificar os componentes críticos que influenciam no reposicionamento do distribuidor à condição de segurança. A partir dos elementos identificados buscaram-se encontrar, por meio das técnicas FTA e ETA, os demais componentes relacionados e suas interações lógicas com o intuito de identificar os pontos críticos do sistema técnico e as barreiras usadas para mitigar ou evitar a ocorrência de um incidente.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo descrever a qualidade de vida dos pacientes portadores de transtorno obsessivo compulsivo (TOC). Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura. A busca foi realizada nos meses de março a maio de 2022 nos bancos de dados: Scielo e Google Acadêmico. Utilizou-se os seguintes descritores de busca: “transtorno obsessivo compulsivo”, “qualidade de vida”, “terapia cognitiva-comportamental” e “terapia farmacológica”, obtendo 18 artigos. Destes, 11 artigos foram selecionados. A partir da análise emergiram três categorias: Prejuízos na qualidade de vida; Terapia farmacológica; e Terapia cognitiva-comportamental. Evidenciou-se que o acompanhamento e avaliação dos índices de qualidade de vida em pacientes com transtornos mentais proporcionam a identificação das prioridades. O TOC se mostrou associado aos domínios da qualidade de vida, evidenciando maior variabilidade em todos os aspectos, principalmente nos fatores psicológicos e familiares, assim como na rede de apoio destes, ressaltando a importância da influência na qualidade de vida. Quality of life in obsessive compulsive disorder Abstract: This article aims to describe the quality of life of patients with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). This is a narrative review of the literature. The search was conducted from march to may 2022 in the databases: Scielo and Google Scholar. The following search descriptors were used: “obsessive compulsive disorder”, “quality of life”, “cognitive-behavioral therapy” and “pharmacological therapy”, obtaining 18 studies. It was evident that the monitoring and evaluation of quality-of-life indices in patients with mental disorders provide the identification of priorities. OCD was shown to be associated with the domains of quality of life, showing greater variability in all aspects, especially in psychological and family factors, as well as in their support network, emphasizing the importance of influencing quality of life. High-frequency water quality measurements in streams and rivers have expanded in scope and sophistication during the last two decades. Existing technology allows in situ automated measurements of water quality constituents, including both solutes and particulates, at unprecedented frequencies from seconds to subdaily sampling intervals. This detailed chemical information can be combined with measurements of hydrological and biogeochemical processes, bringing new insights into the sources, transport pathways, and transformation processes of solutes and particulates in complex catchments and along the aquatic continuum. Here, we summarize established and emerging high-frequency water quality technologies, outline key high-frequency hydrochemical data sets, and review scientific advances in key focus areas enabled by the rapid development of high-frequency water quality measurements in streams and rivers. Finally, we discuss future directions and challenges for using high-frequency water quality measurements to bridge scientific and management gaps by promoting a holistic understanding of freshwater systems and catchment status, health, and function., Environmental Science & Technology, 57 (12), ISSN:0013-936X, ISSN:1520-5851

Linear and cyclic acenes are polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons that can be viewed as building blocks of graphene nanoribbons and carbon nanotubes, respectively. While short linear acenes demonstrated remarkable efficiency in several optoelectronic applications, the longer members are unstable and difficult to synthesize as their cyclic counterparts. Recent progress in on-surface synthesis, a powerful tool to prepare highly reactive species, opens promising perspectives and motivates the computational investigations of these potentially functional molecules. Owing to their di- and poly-radical character, low-lying excited states dominated by doubly excited configurations are expected to become more important for longer members of both linear and cyclic molecules. In this work, we investigate the lowest-lying La and the doubly excited (DE) state of linear acenes and cyclacenes, with different computational approaches, to assess the influence of the di-/poly-radical characters (increasing with the molecular dimensions) on their relative order. We show that DFT/MRCI calculations correctly reproduce the crossing of the two states for longer linear acenes, while TDUDFT calculations fail to predict the correct excitation energy trend of the DE state. The study suggests a similarity in the excited electronic state pattern of long linear and cyclic acenes leading ultimately to a lowest lying dark DE state for both.

Este Artigo propõe-se a descrever as características singulares da estratégia denominada Agile Marketing 5 em ações de Comunicação Social, consideradas suas inúmeras subáreas de atuação, no intuito de salientar os eloquentes benefícios que podem advir a partir de sua implantação no ambiente de produção. Para ilustrar de forma realística a acuidade da estratégia Agile Marketing, bem como alguns de seus resultados tangíveis, foram selecionados dados reais de dois Estudos de Caso, que conformam o Corpus deste manuscrito e fundamentam sua proposição central. São eles: a) Caso Nubank e b) Caso Mozilla, aos quais agora se faz referência apenas nominalmente, para se empreender maior expansão às particularidades de cada um deles ao longo da escritura formal deste trabalho.

Objective: To present and discuss dengue cases in the city of Itajaí-SC through a study carried out by the Epidemiological Surveillance Board of the Municipal Health Department. Method: This is a cross-sectional observational study with a quantitative analytical approach with data collected in the year 2021, between April and July. Data analysis was performed through investigations of Covid-19 and electronic medical records of patients. Results: The data collected obtained 119 investigations and the research subjects were patients suspected of Covid-19 who had negative results for the disease, with symptoms suggestive of dengue. The sample consisted of 44 participants, where categories related to gender, neighborhood of residence and age group were identified and analyzed. Conclusion: It is believed that these findings may be extremely relevant for managers and health professionals, thus contributing to the differential diagnosis of the disease.

Introduction: In vitro 3D equivalent tissues can be used for studies of fungal infections. Objectives: To develop 3D electrospun nanofibers using polycaprolactone (PCL) colonized by HeLa cells as a possible in vitro model for the investigation of fungal infection. Materials & methods: A PCL solution was synthesized and electrospun. HeLa cells were cultured on the nanostructured PCL scaffolds, forming a 3D structure. Physicochemical, biological and Candida albicans infection assays were performed in this model. Results: The nanostructured PCL scaffolds showed favorable physicochemical characteristics and allowed the colonization of HeLa cells, which showed indications of extracellular matrix production. Conclusions: Fungal infection was evidenced in the 3D nanostructured PCL scaffolds, being viable, economical and compatible to study fungal infections in vitro.

A educação financeira é um assunto desconhecido pela população brasileira, por ser considerada delicada e nem todos os cidadãos possuem o interesse em educar-se financeiramente em comparação com a educação escolar. A pesquisa tem por objetivo avaliar os cidadãos da região Noroeste Paulista possuem o conhecimento no assunto, e caracterizar o perfil do consumidor. A metodologia que aplicada a pesquisa será método qualitativo, com a pesquisa descritiva, com estudos exploratórios para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa. Será utilizado a amostragem por conveniência no Noroeste Paulista na micro região de Votuporanga, sendo o principal centro de negócios desta micro região. Entre os resultados obteve-se 81 respostas dos participantes entre os gêneros e as mais variadas faixas etária e identificar a preocupação com a educação financeira através de seu comportamento de consumidor.

Eventos extremos climáticos secos e chuvosos podem ser responsáveis por desastres naturais com grande impacto à população e ao meio ambiente. Neste trabalho, foi avaliado os padrões espaciais dominantes do Índice de Precipitação Padronizado (Standardized Precipitation Index - SPI), calculado a partir dos dados mensais de precipitação pluvial (1981-2020) no Estado de São Paulo, buscando regiões homogêneas deste índice, com apoio de análises estatísticas de Componentes Principais (ACP) e Agrupamentos (AA). Com base na ACP aplicada ao SPI-1 foram selecionadas as cinco primeiras componentes principais (CP) para rotação, que juntas explicaram 97,96% da variabilidade dos dados originais. Após a rotação dos eixos, a ACP indicou condições anômalas em todo o Estado, mais intensas no leste de SP em 42,05% (CP1) dos dados, e no oeste do Estado em 38,31% (CP2). Por sua vez, a AA apontou dois grupos homogêneos, um a leste e outro a oeste do Estado de São Paulo, com comportamentos espaciais concordantes aos dois primeiros modos da ACP rotacionada. Esse tipo de estudo é importante para a compreensão de como os eventos extremos de precipitação ocorrem no Estado de São Paulo e se distribuem espacialmente e temporalmente, ajudando no seu monitoramento e previsão.

Purpose To evaluate the association between the intake of specific fibers with prebiotic activity, namely inulin-type fructans (ITFs), fructooligosaccharides (FOSs) and galactooligosaccharides (GOSs), and colorectal cancer risk. Methods Within the PrebiotiCa study, we used data from a multicentric case–control study conducted in Italy and including 1953 incident, histologically confirmed, colorectal cancer patients and 4154 hospital controls. The amount of six prebiotic molecules [ITFs, nystose (FOS), kestose (FOS), 1F-β-fructofuranosylnystose (FOS), raffinose (GOS) and stachyose (GOS)] in a variety of foods was quantified via laboratory analyses. Subjects’ prebiotic fiber intake was estimated by multiplying food frequency questionnaire intake by the prebiotic content of each food item. The odds ratios (OR) of colorectal cancer for quintiles of intakes were derived from logistic regression models including terms for major confounders and total energy intake. Results GOSs intake was inversely associated with colorectal cancer risk. The OR for the highest versus the lowest quintile of intake were 0.73 (95% confidence interval, CI 0.58–0.92) for raffinose and 0.64 (95% CI 0.53–0.77) for stachyose, with significant inverse trends across quintiles. No association was found with total ITFs and FOSs. The association with stachyose was stronger for colon (continuous OR = 0.74, 95% CI 0.66–0.83) than rectal cancer (OR = 0.89, 95% CI 0.79–1.02). Conclusion Colorectal cancer risk was inversely associated with the intake of dietary GOSs, but not ITFs and FOSs.

We have developed a new method for the direct current resistivity interpretation, based on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) of electric potential-difference data. It exploits the main properties of the CWT, such as stability versus noise, and does not require a starting model or other a priori information such as a model weighting function or constraints. Because the approximate integral equation of the resistivity problem has the same form as the forward problem for potential fields, the authors analyze geoelectric data (with dipole-dipole configuration) using the wavelets belonging to the Poisson kernel semigroup. They find that the CWT analysis of the measured electric potential difference is able to identify buried bodies, defining their depth, position, and extent. Such parameters are estimated with no prior knowledge of the resistivity contrast between the bodies and the background. We consider several synthetic models, such as dikes, compact bodies, and contacts. In general, the depth and the lateral thickness of the buried bodies are estimated with good accuracy, using a diagram relating the singular point estimations to the different values of the dipole separation factor n. Thanks to the good results obtained from synthetic data, we test the method with data generated during laboratory experiments. In two laboratory-scale models, our method displays a better precision compared with smoothness-constrained least-squares inversion in identifying the exact position of the edges of a buried body. Finally, we find that combining CWT and inversion is advantageous: after constraining the inverse problem with a priori information from the CWT analysis, we obtain an improved inverse model.

BACKGROUND: Epidemiological studies suggest that coffee consumption may be inversely associated with risk of endometrial cancer (EC), the most common gynecological malignancy in developed countries. Furthermore, coffee consumption may lower circulating levels of estrogen and insulin, hormones implicated in endometrial carcinogenesis. Antioxidants and other chemopreventive compounds in coffee may have anticarcinogenic effects. Based on available meta-analyses, the World Cancer Research Fund concluded that consumption of coffee probably protects against EC.OBJECTIVE: Our main aim was to examine the association between coffee consumption and EC risk by combining individual-level data in a pooled analysis. We also sought to evaluate potential effect modification by other risk factors of EC.PATIENTS AND METHODS: We combined individual-level data from 19 epidemiologic studies (6 cohort, 13 case-control) of 12,159 endometrial cancer cases and 27,479 controls from the Epidemiology of Endometrial Cancer Consortium (E2C2). Logistic regression was used to calculate odds ratios (OR) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI). All models were adjusted for potential confounders including age, race, body mass index, smoking status, diabetes status, study design and study site.RESULTS: Coffee drinkers had a lower risk of EC compared to non-coffee drinkers (multi-adjusted OR = 0.87, 95% CI = 0.79,0.95). There was a dose-response relationship between higher coffee consumption and lower risk of EC: compared to non-coffee drinkers, the adjusted pooled ORs for those who drank 1, 2-3 and more than 4 cups/day were 0.90 (95% CI = 0.82,1.00), 0.86 (95% CI = 0.78,0.95), and 0.76 (95% CI = 0.66,0.87), respectively (p for trend < 0.001). The inverse association between coffee consumption and EC risk was stronger in participants with body mass index (BMI) over 25 kg/m2.CONCLUSION: The results of the largest analysis to date pooling individual-level data further support the potentially beneficial health effects of coffee consumption in relation to EC, especially among females with higher BMI.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Sex cord-stromal tumours (SCSTs) are rare ovarian cancers. As in the literature, only small case series or case reports are published, gathering solid evidence about their management is challenging. Surgery plays a pivotal role, and accurate staging is one of the most important prognostic factors. This review focuses on the current evidence for surgical staging in the management of SCSTs. RECENT FINDINGS: Staging procedures have been inferred by epithelial ovarian cancers; however, they are often only partially performed, and most SCSTs therefore end up incompletely staged, raising the issue of the need for restaging or further treatments. In addition, some parts of the staging procedure have been questioned over the years, and lymphadenectomy is now considered unnecessary for SCSTs.The generally favourable prognosis of SCSTs, the introduction of minimally invasive surgery and fertility-sparing approaches is empowering the question of which staging procedures are beneficial for these patients. We reviewed the role of each staging procedure proposed by the guidelines in light of new scientific updates. SUMMARY: Surgical staging should always be performed. It includes peritoneal samplings (peritoneal washing, multiple peritoneal biopsies, omental biopsy and biopsy of any suspicious area), whereas lymphadenectomy could be omitted. Laparoscopy may be considered a feasible approach.

Acrylamide is a small conjugated organic compound widely used in industrial processes and agriculture, generally in the form of a polymer. It can also be formed from food and tobacco as a result of Maillard reaction from reducing sugars and asparagine during heat treatment. Due to its toxicity and possible carcinogenicity, there is a risk in its release into the environment or human intake. In order to provide molecular and energetic information, we use synchrotron radiation to record the UV and X-ray photoelectron and photoabsorption spectra of acrylamide. The data are rationalized with the support of density functional theory and ab initio calculations, providing precise assignment of the observed features.

In post-industrial and globalized economies, socio-economic risks have become ubiquitous for workers. Two segments of the labour force seem particularly exposed: namely, outsiders (atypical workers and unemployed individuals) and globalization losers (unskilled workers in offshorable employment sectors), with relevant consequences for party competition in Europe. The coexistence of these two segments of vulnerable workers has brought conceptual ambiguity. Using the original 2019 REScEU Mass Survey on ten European countries, we firstly clarify that outsiders and globalization losers do not constitute the same socio-economic group. Secondly, we look into the micro-foundations of outsiders' and globalization losers' redistributive preferences and political behaviours by showing that outsiderness, rather than exposure to international competition, constitutes a significant driver of income and employment insecurities, and of dependency on social protection and family financial aid.The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s11135-022-01414-9.

Os direitos humanos encampam como uma de suas premissas a universalidade de direitos, assim, garante-se a ideia de que todas as pessoas devem ter proteção jurisdicional e estatal, independente de sua origem, religião, sexo, idade ou quaisquer outros fatores que possam ser invocados para tentar diferenciar um cidadão de outro. Vale destacar que esta visão universalista dos direitos humanos sofre fortes embates e críticas quando estes se afrontam com os direitos culturais, uma vez que algumas manifestações culturais, quando levadas à luz dos direitos humanos, podem ser consideradas afrontas a estes, em especial a dignidade da pessoa humana. Assim, tem-se um questionamento que necessita de atenção, qual seja, o que seria o direito à cultura e o que seria uma violação aos direitos humanos? Para auxiliar a busca de uma possível resposta a este questionamento, tratar-se-á no presente estudo acerca da situação das mulheres afegãs que são proibidas de possuírem nome, considerando que o direito ao nome é um dos direitos fundamentais em nosso ordenamento jurídico, sendo o direito ao nome um dos direitos da personalidade, para tanto far-se-á uma incursão teórica doutrinária para o desenvolvimento do estudo.

SummaryThe Atlantic Forest of South America has undergone major changes due to urban and agriculture/pasture extension, resulting in a highly fragmented biome. Protected areas, created to ensure the biodiversity conservation of this biome, need to be connected for long-term landscape integrity. We aimed to quantify connectivity among protected areas in the south-east Atlantic Forest using two species with different environmental requirements: a threatened species with high requirements, the jaguarPanthera onca; and an exotic species with low requirements, the wild pigSus scrofa. Our methods included expert opinion, andCircuitscapeand least-cost-path analyses. We hypothesized that the patchy and altered landscape would not support the connectivity of jaguars but would allow wild pigs to transit. In fact, we found connectivity for both species, but there were more connectivity opportunities for wild pigs. The connection between Serra do Mar (and Serra do Mar state park) and Serra da Mantiqueira (Mantiqueira Mosaic) is narrow but possible to traverse through some protected areas of sustainable use and private reserves, highlighting the importance of these to structural landscape connectivity for the studied species in this region. The same connectivity that allows the transit of the native jaguar with high environmental requirements also allows the invasive wild pig to move through the landscape, which is worrisome.

Este trabalho configura-se como resultado parcial de afazeres de alunos e professores de uma escola pública de Vila Rica, estado de Mato Grosso, juntamente com acadêmicos bolsistas de projeto de extensão, de projeto de ensino (Programa Institucional de bolsas de iniciação à Docência-PIBID) e estagiários da Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso. Resselava-se que as ações que aqui se traduz em relato de experiências têm como pretensão inicial fortalecer os processos de ensinar e aprender por meio da educação científica, onde os alunos elaboram projetos de pesquisas e criam experiências de forma ética e sistemática, sob o propósito de buscar promover a construção significativa da aprendizagem. Considerando que a mesma propõe atitude processual de investigação diante do desconhecido e dos limites que a natureza e a sociedade nos impõem. Após o evento, foi aplicado um questionário de pesquisa com questões abertas e fechadas no intuito de investigar a concepção dos alunos em relação ao desenvolvimento a ação pedagógica. Na análise dos dados obtidos foi possível observar que o processo de ensino aprendizagem através do Projeto “Feira de Ciências e Matemática” apresenta-se como uma atividade viável de educação em ambiente escolar e, ainda, que há grande influência da postura do docente na formação do futuro universitário cientista/pesquisador, criativo e inovador. Ressalta que os professores precisam estar conscientes de seu papel de formadores e, por este motivo, é tão importante que se coloquem como estimuladores do processo de ensino aprendizagem que ocorre na escola.

Background Endometrial cancer risk stratification may help target interventions, screening, or prophylactic hysterectomy to mitigate the rising burden of this cancer. However, existing prediction models have been developed in select cohorts and have not considered genetic factors. Methods We developed endometrial cancer risk prediction models using data on postmenopausal White women aged 45-85 years from 19 case-control studies in the Epidemiology of Endometrial Cancer Consortium (E2C2). Relative risk estimates for predictors were combined with age-specific endometrial cancer incidence rates and estimates for the underlying risk factor distribution. We externally validated the models in 3 cohorts: Nurses’ Health Study (NHS), NHS II, and the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial. Results Area under the receiver operating characteristic curves for the epidemiologic model ranged from 0.64 (95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.62 to 0.67) to 0.69 (95% CI = 0.66 to 0.72). Improvements in discrimination from the addition of genetic factors were modest (no change in area under the receiver operating characteristic curves in NHS; PLCO = 0.64 to 0.66). The epidemiologic model was well calibrated in NHS II (overall expected-to-observed ratio [E/O] = 1.09, 95% CI = 0.98 to 1.22) and PLCO (overall E/O = 1.04, 95% CI = 0.95 to 1.13) but poorly calibrated in NHS (overall E/O = 0.55, 95% CI = 0.51 to 0.59). Conclusions Using data from the largest, most heterogeneous study population to date (to our knowledge), prediction models based on epidemiologic factors alone successfully identified women at high risk of endometrial cancer. Genetic factors offered limited improvements in discrimination. Further work is needed to refine this tool for clinical or public health practice and expand these models to multiethnic populations.

As cidades inteligentes têm se mostrado capazes de superar diversos problemas urbanos, como demonstrado na literatura. Porém, os princípios da cidade inteligente devem ser analisados em longo prazo de forma a contribuir com o desenvolvimento sustentável. Neste sentido, a literatura tem apresentado diversas metodologias de avaliação de cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis. Porém, no Brasil, até este presente estudo, não foi identificada uma avaliação que se proponha a medir os dois aspectos conjuntamente – inteligentes e sustentáveis. O ranking brasileiro de cidades inteligentes, Connected Smart Cities (CSC), apesar de citar o desenvolvimento sustentável, apresentou resultados divergentes do ranking do Índice de Desenvolvimento Sustentável das Cidades - Brasil (IDSC-BR). Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi identificar na literatura as principais dimensões de avaliação de cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis, e comparar as dimensões encontradas com os indicadores dos rankings CSC e IDSC-BR. Como resultado, em relação aos indicadores, percebeu-se um predomínio do uso da Triple Bottom Line (TBL) como dimensões principais na literatura. Quanto aos indicadores utilizados nos rankings, verificou-se grande diferença entre eles, tendo apenas dez indicadores em comum. Os resultados da análise mostram que o ranking CSC está distribuído de forma equilibrada entre os eixos, já o IDSC-BR há um predomínio de indicadores sociais. A comparação dos rankings com a literatura é importante para a elaboração de uma metodologia de avaliação de cidades inteligentes e sustentáveis para que possam ser aplicadas em países como o Brasil. Abstract: Smart cities have shown themselves capable of overcoming several urban problems, as shown in the literature. Nevertheless, the principles of smart city must be analyzed in the long term as to contribute to sustainable development. In this sense, the literature presents methodologies for evaluating smart and sustainable cities. Although in Brazil, up until now, no evaluation that proposes to measure the two aspects together – smart and intelligent - was found in the extant literature. The Connected Smart Cities (CSC) ranking, which is a Brazilian index, despite citing sustainable development, presents divergent results from the ranking of the Sustainable Development Index of Cities - Brazil (IDSC-BR). Thus, the main purpose of this study was to identify in the literature the main dimensions of evaluation of smart and sustainable cities and compare the dimensions found in the indicators of the CSC and IDSC-BR rankings. As a result, concerning the indicators, a predominance of the use of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) as the main dimension in the literature was noticed. As for the indicators used in the rankings, it was possible to spot a considerable difference between them, having only ten indicators in common. The results show that the CSC ranking is evenly distributed among the axes of the TBL, while the IDSC-BR has a predominance of social indicators. The comparison of the rankings with the literature is relevant for a preparation of an evaluation methodology for smart and sustainable cities so that it can be applied in countries like Brazil by me. Among the renal lesions described, renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the primary renal neoplastic tumor reaching males in a proportion two times higher than females and characterizing about 2% of the carcinomas of the adult population. Although the treatment of this type of cancer has evolved in recent years, the management of patients with metastatic conditions remains challenging, with possible spreads to the lungs and bones. Vascular metastasis of RCC to the skin, especially the scalp, is a rare condition with few reports described in the literature. The diagnosis of this lesion should consider the patient's clinic, especially in cases with a previous history of renal carcinoma, and maybe a differential diagnosis for vascular lesions. Although the treatment is surgical, there may be an association with possible adjuvant treatments.

A Educação Financeira é um assunto desconhecido pela população brasileira, por ser considerada delicada e nem todos os cidadãos possuem o interesse em educar-se financeiramente em comparação com a educação escolar. A pesquisa tem por objetivo avaliar os cidadãos da região Noroeste Paulista possuem o conhecimento no assunto, e caracterizar o perfil do consumidor. A metodologia que aplicada a pesquisa será métodos mistos quali-quantitativo, com análise não probabilística, com apoio de estudos exploratórios para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa. Será utilizado a amostragem por conveniência no Noroeste Paulista nas cidades de Álvares Florence, Américo de Campos, Cardoso, Lençóis Paulista, Ouroeste, Parisi, Pontes Gestal, São José do Rio Preto, Valentim Gentil e Votuporanga. Entre os resultados obteve-se 81 respostas dos participantes entre os gêneros e as mais variadas faixas etária e identificar a preocupação com a Educação Financeira através de seu comportamento de consumidor.

This paper aims to analyze the extent to which European Union (EU) member states succeed in diminishing income disparities using their quality of governance in the context of rising income inequality. By using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) nonparametric method, the link between each country's efforts regarding their governance quality and the impact of these efforts on countering growing inequality was uncovered. The data used in this study were collected for the year 2020, for all 27 member states of the European Union. The main findings point out that, on average, EU countries are relatively inefficient, with only three countries achieving high levels of government performance, whose financial policies are reflected in reducing income inequalities, namely: Luxembourg, Cyprus, and Bulgaria. Furthermore, it was concluded that EU veteran states are relatively more effective than those that joined after 2004 in terms of eliminating income disparities through effective governance.

Este artigo discute, a partir de diversos exemplos internacionais, a relevância da infraestrutura científica e tecnológica para o desenvolvimento dos países. São apresentados diversos modelos de organização de sistemas de C&T ao redor do mundo, nos quais esse tipo de infraestrutura desempenha papelchave. No Brasil, as limitações dessa infraestrutura e de suas instituições são um componente a ser aprimorado para que a C&T desempenhe papel ainda mais relevante no desenvolvimento do país. Para isso, contudo, é preciso lidar com a restrição de recursos, que se tornou ainda mais severa nos últimos anos, quando o volume de investimentos públicos em C&T caiu drasticamente.

Objetivo: Descrever o resultado da experiência sobre cuidado a pacientes ostomizados devido câncer colorretal utilizando a educação em saúde como ferramenta de trabalho, realizada na unidade curricular de processo do cuidar em enfermagem por acadêmicos de graduação de enfermagem no primeiro semestre de 2022. Trata-se de relato de experiência sobre o trabalho desenvolvido pelos acadêmicos de graduação em enfermagem em um município da região da foz do rio Itajaí a pacientes ostomizados por câncer colorretal através da educação em saúde. Descrição do caso: Utilizou-se metodologia da problematização, apoiada no Arco de Maguerez, que consiste em uma excelente ferramenta para sistematizar o desenvolvimento de processos de forma individualizada, inserida em uma realidade. Sendo assim, seguiu-se as etapas da observação da realidade, pontos-chave, teorização, hipótese de solução e aplicação da ação na realidade. Considerações Finais: A experiência permitiu a reflexão em relação à integralidade do cuidado e proposições de hipóteses de solução pela educação em saúde no aprimoramento da formação e prática profissional. Assim, fica a sensação de dever cumprido ao poder proporcionar experiências extra muro.
