- Abstract
Palavras-chave: Trabalho; Migração; Trabalhadores/as; Educação; Qualificação Profissional; Globalização. Education and professional qualification in the context of south-north migrant work Abstract: The article historically addresses international immigration, presenting recent indications on the topic, from the perspective of the current economic globalization, in the phase of the socio-technical division of labor marked by the diffusion of digital technology or Industry 4.0. Data from EUROSTAT (2020), and reports from the International Organization for Migration (IOM, 2020) and from the World Migration Report (2019) are considered. Theoretical references refer to historical dialectic materialism, focusing on the relationship between expropriation and exploitation of contemporary work and considering immigrant work, with higher levels of school education and qualification, especially in Northern countries, as another economic element, ideological and political, within the scope of public policies of governments, for the control of labor by capital. At the end, some methodological issues are taken up and political indications that are currently configured are briefly presented. For the bourgeoisie and neoliberal governments, immigration is a political strategy that, when it comes to low-educated and qualified workers, translates into a “problem”, but, in the case of those better trained and qualified, it has been stimulated. Concept of partnership between public and private entities, commonly addressed as »Public private partnership« or PPP, have spread all over the world as an innovative model to deliver public services and to help established public infra-structure; as railways and roads, water supply facilities and sewerage systems, other communal services and public infrastructure, even building and managing hospitals, elderly homes, etc. In order to serve the public interest, PPP projects should be based upon a negotiated allocation of risk, which means that project risks should be distributed equaly between the partners. However, issues of transparency, good governance and public accountability have been at risk in the process. Through the Portuguese case of PPP involving the reward contract for the construction and maintenance of highways, the argument for the need of transparent and readable information is presented.

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation emitted by indoor tanning devices (sunbeds) has well-documented negative effects on human health, but no clear benefit beyond cosmetic outcomes. Sunbed use is responsible for a significant proportion of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, especially in patients exposed to this practice in early life, premature skin ageing, immunosuppression, skin burns, and eye damage. Artificial tanning is now seen as a public health issue. In this review we discuss the potential additive effect of indoor tanning, misleading facts regarding sunbed benefit, safety concerns and negative effects on human health, indoor tanning legislation and current position of several international organisations, and the impact of some policies adopted in order to mitigate the effects of this dangerous practice.

7. A High Strength Aluminum Solution for Polymer Coated Bearings

- Abstract
Aluminum-tin (Al-Sn) and aluminum-tin-silicon (Al-Sn-Si) alloy lined bimetals have traditionally been utilized in rod and main bearing applications in light duty gasoline engines due to their combination of strength and soft-phase properties, such as embeddability and conformabilty. The load carrying capability of Al-Sn-Si alloys can be further increased by applying a polymer overlay, but recent advances in engine design, to improve efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions, have resulted in maximum specific load requirements beyond the performance limits of current Al-Sn-Si-Cu products. In these instances, the usual option would be to specify a lead-free bronze-based bearing solution, which has increased strength, but necessitates greater weight and brings a significant cost disadvantage over aluminum products. To address these problems, we have developed a novel high strength aluminum lined bimetal for use with a polymer coating, which offers a significant advantage in load carrying capability over traditional Al-Sn-Si-Cu alloys. The novel high strength developed alloy employs an Al-Mn-Mg substrate, which is roll bonded to a steel backing. Bearing rig testing has demonstrated a significant improvement in fatigue performance over the highest rated Al-Sn-Si bearing alloy and an acceptable level of seizure and wear performance. Initial particle tolerance test results are encouraging. A 900-hour thermal shock engine test established the potential of the development alloy to perform satisfactorily in an application which typically uses a more costly bronze-based bearing solution.

Mechanical Engineering ,ComputerApplications_COMPUTERSINOTHERSYSTEMS - Abstract
Nowadays, there are multiple initiatives showing a renewed interest on railway transport of goods and passengers around the world. Thus, an efficient management of railway infrastructures, both at the operational level and in terms of economic profitability, is not only desirable but also corresponds to an area of ongoing research. In order to contribute to these efforts, an alternative and novel methodology to evaluate railway track support conditions is presented here, based on modal analysis of the characteristic frequencies of the multi-element system composed by a railway infrastructure and an instrumented vehicle moving over it. This methodology belongs to the group of vibration-based structural damage identification methods, and is focused on observing the characteristic frequencies of this multi-element system, which can be correlated with changes in the physical properties of the railway infrastructure under analysis. An important feature of the proposed methodology is that it should enable the collection of information regarding the conditions of the substructure of a railway infrastructure. By performing this assessment of a railway infrastructure over its length, and over time by comparing different rides over the same railway stretch, important information can be gathered regarding the support conditions of the track. This paper presents a complete description on the current stage of development of the proposed methodology, along with the theoretical model that serves as the basis to interpret the collected data. Preliminary verification of this methodology is performed through the analysis of two case studies regarding the passage of an instrumented vehicle over two underpasses. The results obtained so far show that the proposed methodology can provide relevant information regarding the support conditions of railway tracks.

- Abstract
Indirect somatic embryogenesis (ISE) is a morphogenetic pathway in which somatic cells form callus and, later, somatic embryos. 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) is a synthetic auxins that promote the proliferation and dedifferentiation of somatic cells, inducing the ISE. However, 2,4-D can cause genetic, epigenetic, physiological and morphological disorders, preventing the regeneration and/or resulting abnormal somatic embryos. We aimed to evaluate the toxic 2,4-D effect during the Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora ISE, assessing the somatic embryo morphology, global 5-methylcytosine levels (5-mC%) and DNA damage. Leaf explants were inoculated in media with different 2,4-D concentrations. After 90 days, the friable calli were transferred to the regeneration medium, and the number of normal and abnormal somatic embryos was monthly counted. The increase of the 2,4-D concentration increased the number of responsive explants in C. arabica and C. canephora. At 9.06, 18.08 and 36.24 µM 2,4-D, C. arabica presented the highest values of responsive explants, differing from C. canephora. Normal and abnormal somatic embryos regeneration increased in relation to the time and 2,4-D concentration. Global 5-mC% varied at different stages of the ISE in both Coffea. Furthermore, the 2,4-D concentration positively correlated with global 5-mC%, and with the mean number of abnormal somatic embryos. All abnormal somatic embryos of C. arabica and C. canephora exhibited DNA damage and showed higher global 5-mC%. The allotetraploid C. arabica exhibited greater tolerance to the toxic effect of 2,4-D than the diploid C. canephora. We conclude that synthetic 2,4-D auxin promotes genotoxic and phytotoxic disorders and promotes epigenetic changes during Coffea ISE.

This edition does not intend to achieve uniform analysis or themes, considering that the very different speeches that are presented are enriching, as well as the manifest differences between researchers. It was possible to verify, even in the scientific review phase, that there is a multiplicity of possible approaches to Art, but always with a common denominator: quality. The most difficult, but on the other hand more fruitful of the edition, is to put very different articles in dialogue, but it is considered that this has been achieved. This edition results in the action and interaction of a significant number of researchers and professors from higher education institutions and Portuguese-speaking research units. In such a rich and varied discussion space, with such differentiated analyzes and research, the pertinent question remains whether, in this wealth of very diverse identities, with multiple denominators, there will be one that is common and allows us to affirm that there is also a way of thinking about Art in Portuguese.

Providing gerontological cares represents an increased challenge when applied to rural scenarios. This paper discusses the role of technology in gerontology and specifically how technology-based solutions can be developed to assist the elderly population in rural areas. We also characterize the Northeast Portuguese region exposing its rural characteristics and presented some demographic numbers. Finally, a conceptual model and a prototype supported by mobile devices are presented to assist and monitor the elderly and enhance business opportunities. The developed prototype allows not only to assist the elderly in a set of typical elderly population routines - such as those related to health - but also to improve the interaction between the elderly and their relatives and / or caregivers. This work is part of a more extensive effort that has been made in the search for effective solutions to assist the elderly population in rural areas, typically distant from the main health and / or support services; contributing to relieve these deficits. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

To characterize moderate to severe psoriasis (PsO) adult patients treated with secukinumab, estimate drug persistence and assess any reasons for treatment discontinuation. Non-interventional, retrospective, longitudinal record-based study including patients diagnosed with PsO who started secukinumab between January 2018 and January 2020. Baseline characteristics were analyzed by descriptive statistics; drug persistence and predictive factors were assessed through Kaplan-Meier curves and univariate and multivariate analysis, respectively. A total of 302 patients were included in the study: mean age was 48.4 years, 41.7% were female, median time since diagnosis was 12.9 years. 51.3% of patients were bio-naïve while 48.7% had previously been treated with biologics. PsO in difficult-to-treat locations (DTL) was present in 82.1% of patients, with scalp PsO in about half of patients. At 5-years follow-up, 84 patients discontinued secukinumab, 45 of which due to loss of efficacy. At week 104, overall treatment persistence was 71.7%. A higher probability of drug persistence was identified among those patients who initiated secukinumab ≥5 years after diagnosis, were bio-naïve or treated with only one previous biologic, had no PsO on DTL, and had diabetes mellitus. The predictive factors for discontinuation identified in our study were the start of secukinumab5 years after diagnosis (p = 0.001), the bio-experimented status with ≥2 biologics (p = 0.007), and the presence of PsO on DTL (p = 0.014). A time since diagnosis of ≥5 years, naïve status or previous use of only one biologic are predictors for secukinumab persistence, whereas the presence of PsO on DTL predicts drug discontinuation.

Tourism is a very emerging sector in any society, very important in econom-ic terms and in job creation, today any traveler increasingly uses technologi-cal means to fully enjoy their trip. The IoT is and increasingly will be a major contributor to smart tourism. To identify the most developed terms in the field of Tourism and Internet of Things, a quantitative analysis was developed in May 2022. This analysis was focused on four hundred and four (404) publications from the Scopus database, published between 2011 and May 4 2022. Before 2011 there were no publications in this area. A bibliometric analysis was performed using the VOSviewer software and a technique of matching terms and co-authorship by authors and countries. Were found 4 clusters for the co-occurrence of terms, 18 clusters for the co-authorship of authors and 6 clusters for the co-authorship of countries. There was a lack of uniformity in the presentation of terms with the same meaning: internet of things, internet of things (iot), iot and internet of thing (iot). This lack of uniformity is probably due to the fact that it is a recent ar-ea of investigation. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Digital marketing is essential for hotels. It is important to have a social media strategy and, simultaneously, to be aware of the guests’ opinions and reviews, be conscious of their satisfaction. In this sense, the content, and interactions of the different social media of Vidago Palace Hotel were analysed, and some suggestions for improvement were given. On the other hand, the hotel reviews in the main online review platforms were analysed, to understand the level of guest satisfaction. The results show that there should be more care at the social media strategy level, posting with more frequency. However, the reviews are excellent, which shows that the quality of service provided by the hotel. The exploratory nature of the study is one of its limitations, added by the fact that is based on a specific date that analysed its last 10 publications. We propose a sequence of steps and a generic transformation for connecting common thermodynamic quantities considered in asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole thermodynamics in the bulk and those that are appropriate for CFT thermodynamics in the boundary. We do this by constructing a "varying-$G$ map", where $G$ is the gravitational constant, and demonstrate its usefulness by considering various examples., 7 pages. Modification of the title; substitution from "holographic dictionary" to "varying-G map"; addition of two subsections on AdS Taub-NUT and Kerr-AdS5 black holes, with discussions about the role of the Casimir energy; addition of references.

An official website is a key component for tourist’s decision-making processes. Official websites transmit confidence to the user, since they are managed by government entities. It is important that they are of quality with regard to the contents available, but also with respect to other aspects such as efficiency, functionality and usability. Although, it is difficult to make a systematic and complete evaluation on websites, they are of quality due to their diversity of functionalities, which make them complex to analyses. Many studies have proposed new website evaluation frameworks and criteria. The main objective of this paper is to analyse Portugal and Spain tourism official websites, using one model to evaluate tourism websites and a qualitative method approach in order to assess the quality of the respective websites and to identify possible improvements. The image of a tourist destination must be worked by the various players in the tourist industry, as a way of attracting the destination, and promoted in several communication channels, namely in social media. Social networks are a source of information, content sharing and experiences by various users, and can condition the image created of a destination favorably or not. The Douro Wine Region, a World Heritage since 2001, presents itself as a tourist destination by excellence, due to its many attractions. Thus, this exploratory study aims to analyze the presence on the social networks of the destination Douro Vinhateiro and identify the dimensions of the image of the destination. To this end, a search was made for “Douro Turismo” on the social network Facebook, and the pages of four companies were analyzed. The search for the various contents resulted in three main dimensions: the Douro River, the Vineyards and the City of Porto.

The analysis of the viruses allocated to the recently established Brevihamaparvovirus genus (Parvoviridae family), which includes all previously known brevidensoviruses, has not yet been carried out on an extensive basis. As a result, no detailed genetic lineage characterization has ever been performed for this group of insect-specific viruses. Using a wide range of molecular tools, we have explored this taxon by calculating Shannon entropy values, intra- and inter-taxon genetic distances, analysed sequence polymorphisms, and evaluated selective pressures acting on the viral genome. While the calculated Brevihamaparvovirus mutation rates were within the range of those of other parvoviruses, their genomes look to be under strong purifying selection, and are also characterized by low diversity and entropy. Furthermore, even though recombination events are quite common among parvoviruses, no evidence of recombination (either intra or intergenic) was found in the Brevihamaparvoviruses sequences analyzed. An extended taxonomic analysis and reevaluation of existing Brevihamaparvoviruses sequences, many still unclassified, was performed using cut-off values defining NS1 identity between viral sequences from the Parvovirus family. Two existing genetic lineages, Dipteran Brevihamaparvovirus 1 and Dipteran Brevihamaparvovirus 2, were rearranged and the creation of a new one, Dipteran Brevihamaparvovirus 3, was suggested. Finally, despite the uncertainties associated with both the time estimates of the most recent common ancestors, which could span from twenty thousand years before the current era to way earlier (in the last century), and the dispersal routes proposed for Brevihamaparvoviruses sequences by phylodynamic reconstruction, the analyses here presented could help define how future studies should be conducted as more isolates continue to be identified in the future, and contribute to eliminating possible analytical biases.

Digital marketing is gaining predominance in marketing strategies across the globe. Digitization is becoming more and more present in business, not just changes in consumer behavior, but the adoption of new technologies, tools and applications is highly disruptive, with immediate impact on the business of all companies. The common link between Digital Marketing definitions is the use of tools, namely online tools. One of the biggest changes in human interaction is the recent proliferation of online social networks. Rapid growth of Web-based platforms that facilitate online social behavior has significantly modified the nature of human activities, habitats, and interactions. Real-world social relationships have been migrated to the virtual world, resulting in online communities that bring people together from across the globe. This study aims to identify and describe the various digital marketing tools and which of these can be used to increase the SMEs competitiveness. Local communities are taking an increasingly major role in communicating a destination in terms of contact with tourists. Based on the assumption that tourist entities and agents are part of this community, we can assume that it is necessary for the territorial marketing regulator to promote the involvement of this local community. This is even more justified by the ability of these communities to influence tourists, especially in terms of building the image of a destination. This communication is increasingly generated through information and communication technologies (ICT), namely social networks. To analyze the communication contribution of the tourist entities of the Trás-os- Montes lands, an analysis was carried out on the online presence and its way of communicating the region. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Riscos ocupacionais. Acidentes de trabalho. Contenção de riscos biológicos. Saúde do trabalhador.

Today any OEM automotive industry that wants a status of a world-class organization has to follow a proper supplier quality management based on the worldwide recognized international standards. With this, the customer within a supply chain should have the sureness that the company has supplier capabilities in place to provide a service that consistently meets its needs and expectations. Although some of this Supplier Quality Management Systems (SQMS) are deeply integrated and used inside of an organization, sometimes they are implemented using inappropriate or limited tools, making the work of employees harder and acting often as entropy sources in those systems. Having the right tools to handle Inspections as well as Nonconformance, Complaint, Corrective Action and Concession processes is key to successfully track the supplier performance. This paper presents a platform to support a SQMS, that fits the technical specification ISO/TS 16949 requirements. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

The implementation of models capable of improving referral quality, limiting the growth of waiting lists in hospitals, and ensuring the best possible treatment and follow-up of the psoriatic patient is of the utmost importance.A panel of Family Physicians and Dermatologists discussed and created a simple and effective algorithm of referral for patients with psoriasis. The proposed algorithm starts when the Family Physician suspects of psoriasis. In case of diagnostic doubt, the patient should be referred to Dermatology. In case of a confirmed diagnosis, the Family Physician should assess the patient's severity and responder profile, evaluate comorbidities and assess the presence of psoriatic arthritis. If psoriasis is mild, topical treatments should be initiated, and if there is no clinical improvement or worsening of the disease, the patient should be referred to Dermatology. If psoriasis is moderate to severe, is located in high impact locations, or in pediatric age, the patient should be referred to Dermatology. In order to enable shared management in terms of follow-up and treatment of these patients, it is critical that the Family Physician has the necessary knowledge regarding the systemic treatments used in psoriasis and their side effects.Only a shared management of the psoriatic patient can allow for the best treatment and follow-up of these patients, a more rational use of available medical resources, thus giving the patient the best possible quality of life.
