Cross-layer reliability is becoming the preferred solution when reliability is a concern in the design of a microprocessor-based system. Nevertheless, deciding how to distribute the error management across the different layers of the system is a very complex task that requires the support of dedicated frameworks for cross-layer reliability analysis. This paper proposes SyRA, a system-level cross-layer early reliability analysis framework for radiation induced soft errors in memory arrays of microprocessor-based systems. The framework exploits a multi-level hybrid Bayesian model to describe the target system and takes advantage of Bayesian inference to estimate different reliability metrics. SyRA implements several mechanisms and features to deal with the complexity of realistic models and implements a complete tool-chain that scales efficiently with the complexity of the system. The simulation time is significantly lower than micro-architecture level or RTL fault-injection experiments with an accuracy high enough to take effective design decisions. To demonstrate the capability of SyRA, we analyzed the reliability of a set of microprocessor-based systems characterized by different microprocessor architectures (i.e., Intel x86, ARM Cortex-A15, ARM Cortex-A9) running both the Linux operating system or bare metal. Each system under analysis executes different software workloads both from benchmark suites and from real applications.

The high design luminosity of the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider will result in challenging levels of beam-induced backgro\ unds in the interaction region. Understanding and mitigating these backgrounds is critical to the success of the Belle~II experi\ ment. We report on the first background measurements performed after roll-in of the Belle II detector, a period known as SuperKE\ KB Phase 2, utilizing both the BEAST II system of dedicated background detectors and the Belle II detector itself. We also repor\ t on first revisions to the background simulation made in response to our findings. Backgrounds measured include contributions f\ rom synchrotron radiation, beam-gas, Touschek, and injection backgrounds. At the end of Phase 2, single-beam backgrounds origina\ ting from the 4 GeV positron Low Energy Ring (LER) agree reasonably well with simulation, while backgrounds from the 7 GeV elect\ ron High Energy Ring (HER) are approximately one order of magnitude higher than simulation. We extrapolate these backgrounds for\ ward and conclude it is safe to install the Belle II vertex detector., Comment: 22 Pages, 33 figures

The experimental results on the ratios of branching fractions $\mathcal{R}(D) = {\cal B}(\bar{B} \to D \tau^- \bar{\nu}_{\tau})/{\cal B}(\bar{B} \to D \ell^- \bar{\nu}_{\ell})$ and $\mathcal{R}(D^*) = {\cal B}(\bar{B} \to D^* \tau^- \bar{\nu}_{\tau})/{\cal B}(\bar{B} \to D^* \ell^- \bar{\nu}_{\ell})$, where $\ell$ denotes an electron or a muon, show a long-standing discrepancy with the Standard Model predictions, and might hint to a violation of lepton flavor universality. We report a new simultaneous measurement of $\mathcal{R}(D)$ and $\mathcal{R}(D^*)$, based on a data sample containing $772 \times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ events recorded at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+ e^-$ collider. In this analysis the tag-side $B$ meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the signal-side $\tau$ is reconstructed in a purely leptonic decay. The measured values are $\mathcal{R}(D)= 0.307 \pm 0.037 \pm 0.016$ and $\mathcal{R}(D^*) = 0.283 \pm 0.018 \pm 0.014$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are in agreement with the Standard Model predictions within $0.2$, $1.1$ and $0.8$ standard deviations for $\mathcal{R}(D)$, $\mathcal{R}(D^*)$ and their combination, respectively. This work constitutes the most precise measurements of $\mathcal{R}(D)$ and $\mathcal{R}(D^*)$ performed to date as well as the first result for $\mathcal{R}(D)$ based on a semileptonic tagging method.

Multi-purpose offshore structures are very complex systems to be designed as many different requirements have to be taken into account simultaneously. Experimental tests on scaled models can be very useful to verify structural behavior and to validate numerical models. The definition of the scale can play a key role in performing tests as high scales, closer to full-scale, are generally related to more reliable results. The present paper concerns the design of a wind turbine model for a large-scale model of a Multi-purpose offshore Platform developed within the EU project H2020 Blue Growth Farm. This project aims at developing an offshore farm, based on a modular floating structure that integrates wave energy converters and a wind turbine with aquaculture. The scale model of the complete structure will be deployed at the Natural Ocean Engineering Laboratory (NOEL). The paper will focus on the strategies adopted to scale 1:15 the DTU 10 MW wind turbine in order to represent both the main aeroelastic features and all the functionalities of a real machine. The complete design of the machine and its control will be also provided.

We present the first measurement of the Michel parameters η ‾ and ξκ in the radiative leptonic decay of the τ lepton using 703 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − collider. The Michel parameters are measured by an unbinned maximum likelihood fit to the kinematic information of e + e − → τ + τ − → ( π + π 0 ν ‾ ) ( l − ν ν ‾ γ ) ( l = e or μ ) . The preliminary values of the measured Michel parameters are η ‾ = − 2.0 ± 1.5 ± 0.8 and ξ κ = 0.6 ± 0.4 ± 0.2 , where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.

Using a data sample of 921.9 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector, we study the process of e+e-→Ds+Ds1(2536)-+c.c. via initial-state radiation. We report the first observation of a vector charmoniumlike state decaying to Ds+Ds1(2536)-+c.c. with a significance of 5.9σ, including systematic uncertainties. The measured mass and width are (4625.9-6.0+6.2(stat)±0.4(syst)) MeV/c2 and (49.8-11.5+13.9(stat)±4.0(syst)) MeV, respectively. The product of the e+e-→Ds+Ds1(2536)-+c.c. cross section and the branching fraction of Ds1(2536)-→D¯*0K- is measured from the DsD¯s1(2536) threshold to 5.59 GeV.

Using the data sample of 711 fb-1 of ϒ(4S) on-resonance data taken by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider, we present the first measurements of branching fractions of the decays B-→Λ¯c-Ξc′0, B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2645)0, and B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2790)0. The signal yields for these decays are extracted from the recoil mass spectrum of the system recoiling against Λ¯c- baryons in selected B- candidates. The branching fraction of B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2790)0 is measured to be (1.1±0.4±0.2)×10-3, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The 90% credibility level upper limits on B(B-→Λ¯c-Ξc′0) and B(B-→Λ¯c-Ξc(2645)0) are determined to be 6.5×10-4 and 7.9×10-4, respectively.

This work reports the first observation of azimuthal asymmetries around the thrust axis in e+e- annihilation of pairs of back-to-back charged pions in one hemisphere, and π0 and η mesons in the opposite hemisphere. These results are complemented by a new analysis of pairs of back-to-back charged pions. The π0 and η asymmetries rise with the relative momentum z of the detected hadrons as well as with the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These asymmetries are sensitive to the Collins fragmentation function H1⊥ and provide complementary information to previous measurements with charged pions and kaons in the final state. In particular, the η final states will provide additional information on the flavor structure of H1⊥. This is the first measurement of the explicit transverse-momentum dependence of the Collins fragmentation function from Belle data. It uses a dataset of 980.4 fb-1 collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV.

Background The success of coronary recanalization therapy for the treatment of myocardial infarction can be hampered by microvascular plugging which prevents effective reperfusion of the ischemic tissue. Due to its constitutive expression in platelets, leukocytes, and endothelial cells and its peculiar tyrosine phosphatase cell detaching signaling properties, the trans-homophilic CD31 receptor may be important to modulate platelet and leukocyte aggregation in the microvasculature. Objective To investigate the impact of CD31 genetic deficiency on the infarct size, peri-infarction microvascular plugging and macrophage phenotype in a mouse model of heart ischemia/reperfusion. Methods Cardiac ischemia was induced in WT and CD31 KO mice (n=30, 15 females and 15 males in each group) by surgical ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) for 45 minutes followed by reperfusion for 72 hours. The area at risk (AAR) and necrotic zone (NZ) were assessed using ImageJ software on three consecutive 1 mm thick slices of the left ventricle (LV) by a combination of a blue dye and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining. Parallel sets of experiments served to evaluate by both fluorescence microscopy and cytometry the presence of microvascular plugs and leukocyte phenotype in the infarction area as compared to the peri-necrotic myocardium. Results The AAR was similar in WT and CD31 KO mice (41,7±3,5 vs 37±2,9% of LV, NS) whereas the size of myocardial infarction was significantly greater in CD31 KO as compared to WT mice (23,4±2 vs 17,8±1,7% of LV, p Conclusions Our data suggest that CD31 is important for reducing the size of necrosis following coronary recanalization procedures by preventing the no-reflow phenomenon due to microvascular plugging and by promoting a reparative phenotype of peri-infarction macrophages. We present a new measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vcb| from B0→D*-l+νl decays, reconstructed with the full Belle data set of 711 fb−1 integrated luminosity. Two form factor parametrizations, originally conceived by the Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert (CLN) and the Boyd, Grinstein and Lebed (BGL) groups, are used to extract the product F(1)ηEW|Vcb| and the decay form factors, where F(1) is the normalization factor and ηEW is a small electroweak correction. In the CLN parametrization we find F(1)ηEW|Vcb|=(35.06±0.15±0.56)×10-3, ρ2=1.106±0.031±0.007, R1(1)=1.229±0.028±0.009, R2(1)=0.852±0.021±0.006. For the BGL parametrization we obtain F(1)ηEW|Vcb|=(34.93±0.23±0.59)×10-3, which is consistent with the world average when correcting for F(1)ηEW. The branching fraction of B0→D*-l+νl is measured to be B(B0→D*-l+νl)=(4.90±0.02±0.16)%. We also present a new test of lepton flavor universality violation in semileptonic B decays, B(B0→D*-e+ν)B(B0→D*-μ+ν)=1.01±0.01±0.03. The errors quoted correspond to the statistical and systematic uncertainties, respectively. This is the most precise measurement of F(1)ηEW|Vcb| and form factors to date and the first experimental study of the BGL form factor parametrization in an experimental measurement.

Using data samples of e+e- collisions collected at the ϒ(1S), ϒ(2S), and ϒ(3S) resonances with the Belle detector, we search for the three-body decay of the Ω(2012) baryon to KπΞ. This decay is predicted to dominate for models describing the Ω(2012) as a KΞ(1530) molecule. No significant Ω(2012) signals are observed in the studied channels, and 90% credibility level upper limits on the ratios of the branching fractions relative to KΞ decay modes are obtained.

We present the first measurements of the absolute branching fractions of $\Xi_c^+$ decays into $\Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+$ and $p K^- \pi^+$ final states. Our analysis is based on a data set of $(772\pm 11)\times 10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure the absolute branching fraction of $\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}^{+}$ with the $\Xi_c^+$ recoiling against $\bar{\Lambda}_c^-$ in $\bar{B}^0$ decays resulting in ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}^{+}) = [1.16 \pm 0.42(\rm stat.) \pm 0.15(\rm syst.)] \times 10^{-3}$. We then measure the product branching fractions ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar{\Lambda}_c^- \Xi_c^+){\cal B}(\Xi_c^+ \to \Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+)$ and ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar{\Lambda}_c^- \Xi_c^+){\cal B}(\Xi_c^+ \to p K^- \pi^+)$. Dividing these product branching fractions by $\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar{\Lambda}_{c}^{-} \Xi_{c}^{+}$ yields: ${\cal B}(\Xi_c^+ \to \Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+) = [2.86 \pm 1.21(\rm stat.) \pm 0.38(\rm syst.)]\%$ and ${\cal B}(\Xi_c^+ \to p K^- \pi^+)=[0.45 \pm 0.21(\rm stat.) \pm 0.07(\rm syst.)]\%$. Our result for ${\cal B}(\Xi_c^+ \to \Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+)$ can be combined with $\Xi_c^+$ branching fractions measured relative to $\Xi_c^+ \to \Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+$ to set the absolute scale for many $\Xi_c^+$ branching fractions.

We report the results of a search for the decay $B^0 \to X(3872)(\to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) \gamma$. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $711\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ and containing $772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs, collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider running at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance energy. We find no evidence for a signal and place an upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to X(3872)\gamma)\times \mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-) < 5.1 \times 10^{-7}$ at 90% confidence level.

A search for the decays B+→hcK+ and B0→hcKS0 is performed. Evidence for the decay B+→hcK+ is found; its significance is 4.8σ. No evidence is found for B0→hcKS0. The branching fraction for B+→hcK+ is measured to be (3.7-0.9+1.0 -0.8+0.8)×10-5; the upper limit for the B0→hcKS0 branching fraction is 1.4×10-5 at 90% C.L. In addition, a study of the pp¯π+π- invariant mass distribution in the channel B+→(pp¯π+π-)K+ results in the first observation of the decay ηc(2S)→pp¯π+π- with 12.1σ significance. The analysis is based on the 711 fb-1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e- collider KEKB at the ϒ(4S) resonance.

We report a measurement of the branching fraction and final-state asymmetry for the $\bar{B}^{0}\to K^{0}_{S}K^{\mp}\pi^{\pm}$ decays. The analysis is based on a data sample of 711 $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. We obtain a branching fraction of $(3.60\pm0.33\pm0.15)\times10^{-6}$ and a final-state asymmetry of $(-8.5\pm8.9\pm0.2)\%$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Hints of peaking structures are seen in the differential branching fractions measured as functions of Dalitz variables.

We report measurements of the production cross sections of charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of fractional energy, the event-shape variable called thrust, and the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These measurements access the transverse momenta created in the fragmentation process, which are of critical importance to the understanding of any transverse-momentum-dependent distribution and fragmentation functions. The low transverse-momentum part of the cross sections can be well described by Gaussians in transverse momentum as is generally assumed but the fractional-energy dependence is nontrivial and different hadron types have varying Gaussian widths. The width of these Gaussians decreases with thrust and shows an initially rising, then decreasing fractional-energy dependence. The widths for pions and kaons are comparable within uncertainties, while those for protons are significantly narrower. These single-hadron cross sections and Gaussian widths are obtained from a 558 fb-1 data sample collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.

We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay $B^0\to p\bar{p}\pi^0$ with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711~$\rm fb^{-1}$ containing $(772\pm 10)\times 10^6$ $B^0\bar{B}^0$ pairs. The data was collected by the Belle experiment running on the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure a branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to p\bar{p}\pi^0)= (5.0\pm1.8\pm0.6 )\times 10^{-7}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays $B^{0}\to\Delta^+\bar{p}$ and $B^0\to\bar{\Delta}^-p$, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to \Delta^+\bar{p})+\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\bar{\Delta}^-p)

We report the results of a search for the B→Y(4260)K, Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π- decays. This study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb-1, collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We investigate the J/ψπ+π- invariant mass distribution in the range 4.0 to 4.6 GeV/c2 using both B+→J/ψπ+π-K+ and B0→J/ψπ+π-KS0 decays. We find excesses of events above the background levels, with significances of 2.1 and 0.9 standard deviations for charged and neutral B→Y(4260)K decays, respectively, taking into account the systematic uncertainties. These correspond to upper limits on the product of branching fractions, B(B+→Y(4260)K+)×B(Y(4260)→J/ψπ+π-)

We report the first observation of the doubly-strange baryon $\Xi(1620)^0$ in its decay to $\Xi^-\pi^+$ via $\Xi_c^+ \rightarrow \Xi^- \pi^+ \pi^+$ decays based on a $980\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The mass and width are measured to be 1610.4 $\pm$ 6.0 (stat) $^{+5.9}_{-3.5}$ (syst)~MeV$/c^2$ and 59.9 $\pm$ 4.8 (stat) $^{+2.8}_{-3.0}$ (syst)~MeV, respectively. We obtain 4.0$\sigma$ evidence of the $\Xi(1690)^0$ with the same data sample. These results shed light on the structure of hyperon resonances with strangeness $S=-2$.

We study charmless hadronic decays of charged B mesons to the final states KS0KS0K± and KS0KS0π± using a 711 fb-1 data sample that contains 772×106 BB¯ pairs and was collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. For B±→KS0KS0K±, the measured branching fraction and direct CP asymmetry are [10.42±0.43(stat)±0.22(syst)]×10-6 and [+1.6±3.9(stat)±0.9(syst)]%, respectively. In the absence of a statistically significant signal for B±→KS0KS0π±, we obtain a 90% confidence-level upper limit on its branching fraction as 8.7×10-7.

We report measurements of isospin asymmetry $\Delta_{0-}$ and difference of direct $CP$ asymmetries $\Delta A_{CP}$ between charged and neutral $B \to X_s \gamma$ decays. This analysis is based on the data sample containing $772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs that was collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric $e^+ e^-$ collider. Using a sum-of-exclusive technique with invariant $X_s$ mass up to 2.8~GeV/$c^2$, we obtain $\Delta_{0-} = \bigl[-0.48 \pm 1.49 {\rm (stat.)} \pm 0.97 {\rm (syst.)} \pm 1.15 {(f_{+-}/f_{00})}\bigr]$\% and $\Delta A_{CP} = \bigl[+3.69 \pm 2.65 {\rm (stat.)} \pm 0.76{\rm (syst.)}\bigr]$\%, where the last uncertainty for $\Delta_{0-}$ is due to the uncertainty on the production ratio of $B^+B^-$ to $B^0\bar{B}^0$ in $\Upsilon(4S)$ decays. The measured value of $\Delta_{0-}$ is consistent with zero, allowing us to constrain the resolved photon contribution in the $B \to X_s \gamma$, and improve the branching fraction prediction. The result for $\Delta A_{CP}$ is consistent with the prediction of the SM. We also measure the direct $CP$ asymmetries for charged and neutral $B \to X_s \gamma$ decays. All the measurements are the most precise to date.

We report the study of B+→pΛ¯K+K- and B+→p¯ΛK+K+ decays using a 772×106 BB¯ pair data sample recorded on the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. The following branching fractions are measured: B(B+→pΛ¯K+K-)=(4.10-0.43+0.45±0.50)×10-6, B(B+→p¯ΛK+K+)=(3.70-0.37+0.39±0.44)×10-6, B(ηc→pΛ¯K-+c.c.)=(2.83-0.34+0.36±0.35)×10-3 and B(B+→pΛ¯ϕ)=( 7.95±2.09±0.77)×10-7, where c.c. denotes the corresponding charge-conjugation process. The intermediate resonance decays are excluded in the four-body decay measurements. We also find evidence for B(ηc→Λ(1520)Λ¯+c.c.)=(3.48±1.48±0.46)×10-3 and B(B+→Λ(1520)Λ¯K+)=( 2.23±0.63±0.25)×10-6. No significant signals are found for J/ψ→Λ(1520)Λ¯+c.c. and B+→Λ¯(1520)ΛK+; we set the 90% confidence level upper limits on their decay branching fractions as

We report the first observation of the spontaneous polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons transverse to the production plane in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation, which is attributed to the effect arising from a polarizing fragmentation function. For inclusive Λ/Λ[over ¯] production, we also report results with subtracted feed-down contributions from Σ^{0} and charm. This measurement uses a dataset of 800.4 fb^{-1} collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. We observe a significant polarization that rises with the fractional energy carried by the Λ/Λ[over ¯] hyperon.

We search for CP violation in the singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0→K+K-π+π- using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 988 fb-1 collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We measure a set of five kinematically dependent CP asymmetries, of which four asymmetries are measured for the first time. The set of asymmetry measurements can be sensitive to CP violation via interference between the different partial-wave contributions to the decay and performed on other pseudoscalar decays. We find no evidence of CP violation.

We report a measurement of time-dependent CP violation in B0→KS0π0π0 decays using a data sample of 772×106 BB¯ pairs collected by the Belle experiment running at the ϒ(4S) resonance at the KEKB e+e- collider. This decay proceeds mainly via a b→sdd¯ “penguin” amplitude. The results are sin2ϕ1eff=0.92-0.31+0.27 (stat.) ±0.11 (syst.) and A=0.28±0.21 (stat.) ±0.04 (syst.), which are the most precise measurements of CP violation in this decay mode to date. The value for the CP-violating parameter sin2ϕ1eff is consistent with that obtained using decay modes proceeding via a b→cc¯s “tree” amplitude.

- Abstract
We report the first observation of the double strange baryon Ξ(1620)^{0} in its decay to Ξ^{-}π^{+} via Ξ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+} decays based on a 980 fb^{-1} data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^{+}e^{-} collider. The mass and width are measured to be 1610.4±6.0(stat)_{-4.2}^{+6.1} (syst) MeV/c^{2} and 59.9±4.8(stat)_{-7.1}^{+2.8}(syst) MeV, respectively. We obtain 4.0σ evidence of the Ξ(1690)^{0} with the same data sample. These results shed light on the structure of hyperon resonances with strangeness S=-2.

We present the result of the search for the rare B meson decay of B+ -> l(+)nu e gamma with l = e, mu. For the search the full data set recorded by the Belle experiment of 711 fb(-1) integrated luminosity near the Upsilon(4S) resonance is used. Signal candidates are reconstructed for photon energies E-gamma larger than 1 GeV using a novel multivariate tagging algorithm. The novel algorithm fully reconstructs the second B meson produced in the collision using hadronic modes and was specifically trained to recognize the signal signature in combination with hadronic tag-side B meson decays. This approach greatly enhances the performance. Background processes that can mimic this signature, mainly charmless semileptonic decays and continuum processes, are suppressed using multivariate methods. The number of signal candidates is determined by analyzing the missing mass squared distribution as inferred from the signal side particles and the kinematic properties of the tag-side B meson. No significant excess over the background-only hypothesis is observed and upper limits on the partial branching fraction Delta B with E-gamma > 1 GeV individually for electron and muon final states as well as for the average branching fraction of both lepton final states are reported. We find a Bayesian upper limit of Delta B(B+ -> l(+)nu el) 0.24 GeV at 90% CL.

We present first evidence that the cosine of the CP-violating weak phase 2β is positive, and hence exclude trigonometric multifold solutions of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) Unitarity Triangle using a time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B^{0}→D^{(*)}h^{0} with D→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{-} decays, where h^{0}∈{π^{0},η,ω} denotes a light unflavored and neutral hadron. The measurement is performed combining the final data sets of the BABAR and Belle experiments collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. The data samples contain (471±3)×10^{6}BB[over ¯] pairs recorded by the BABAR detector and (772±11)×10^{6}BB[over ¯] pairs recorded by the Belle detector. The results of the measurement are sin2β=0.80±0.14(stat)±0.06(syst)±0.03(model) and cos2β=0.91±0.22(stat)±0.09(syst)±0.07(model). The result for the direct measurement of the angle β of the CKM Unitarity Triangle is β=[22.5±4.4(stat)±1.2(syst)±0.6(model)]°. The measurement assumes no direct CP violation in B^{0}→D^{(*)}h^{0} decays. The quoted model uncertainties are due to the composition of the D^{0}→K_{S}^{0}π^{+}π^{-} decay amplitude model, which is newly established by performing a Dalitz plot amplitude analysis using a high-statistics e^{+}e^{-}→cc[over ¯] data sample. CP violation is observed in B^{0}→D^{(*)}h^{0} decays at the level of 5.1 standard deviations. The significance for cos2β>0 is 3.7 standard deviations. The trigonometric multifold solution π/2-β=(68.1±0.7)° is excluded at the level of 7.3 standard deviations. The measurement resolves an ambiguity in the determination of the apex of the CKM Unitarity Triangle.

We report measurements of sin2β and cos2β using a time-dependent Dalitz plot analysis of B0→D(*)h0 with D→KS0π+π- decays, where the light unflavored and neutral hadron h0 is a π0, η, or ω meson. The analysis uses a combination of the final data sets of the BaBar and Belle experiments containing 471×106 and 772×106 BB¯ pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. We measure sin2β=0.80±0.14(stat)±0.06(syst)±0.03(model) and cos2β=0.91±0.22(stat)±0.09(syst)±0.07(model). The result for the direct measurement of the angle is β=(22.5±4.4(stat)±1.2(syst)±0.6(model))°. The last quoted uncertainties are due to the composition of the D0→KS0π+π- decay amplitude model, which is newly established by a Dalitz plot amplitude analysis of a high-statistics e+e-→cc¯ data sample as part of this analysis. We find the first evidence for cos2β>0 at the level of 3.7 standard deviations. The measurement excludes the trigonometric multifold solution π/2-β=(68.1±0.7)° at the level of 7.3 standard deviations and therefore resolves an ambiguity in the determination of the apex of the CKM Unitarity Triangle. The hypothesis of β=0° is ruled out at the level of 5.1 standard deviations, and thus CP violation is observed in B0→D(*)h0 decays. The measurement assumes no direct CP violation in B0→D(*)h0 decays.

We measure the branching fraction and time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry for B0→J/ψπ0 decays using a data sample of 711 fb-1 collected on the ϒ(4S) resonance by the Belle experiment running at the KEKB e+e- collider. The branching fraction is measured to be B(B0→J/ψπ0)=[1.62±0.11(stat)±0.06(syst)]×10-5, which is the most precise measurement to date. The measured CP asymmetry parameters are S=-0.59±0.19(stat)±0.03(syst) and A=-0.15±0.14(stat)+0.04-0.03(syst). The mixing-induced CP asymmetry (S) differs from the case of no CP violation by 3.0 standard deviations, and the direct CP asymmetry (A) is consistent with zero.

We report the observation of ϒ(2S)→γηb(1S) decay based on an analysis of the inclusive photon spectrum of 24.7 fb-1 of e+e- collisions at the ϒ(2S) center-of-mass energy collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We measure a branching fraction of B[ϒ(2S)→γηb(1S)]=(6.1-0.7-0.6+0.6+0.9)×10-4 and derive an ηb(1S) mass of 9394.8-3.1-2.7+2.7+4.5 MeV/c2, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The significance of our measurement is greater than 7 standard deviations, constituting the first observation of this decay mode.

Using data samples of 89.5 fb(-1), 711.0 fb(-1), and 121.4 fb(-1) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at center-of-mass energies 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV, respectively, we study the exclusive reactions e(+)e(-) -> gamma chi(cJ) (J = 0, 1, 2) and e(+)e(-) -> gamma chi(c). A significant gamma chi(c1) signal is observed for the first time at root s = 10.58 GeV with a significance of 5.1 sigma including systematic uncertainties. No significant excesses for gamma chi(c0), gamma chi(c2), and gamma chi(c) final states are found, and we set 90% credibility level upper limits on the Born cross sections (sigma(B)) at 10.52 GeV, 10.58 GeV, and 10.867 GeV. Together with cross sections measured by BESIII at lower center-of-mass energies, the energy dependency of sigma(B) (e(+)e(-) -> gamma chi(c1)) thorn is obtained.

We report evidence for the charged charmed-strange baryon $$\Xi _{c}(2930)^+$$ with a signal significance of 3.9 $$\sigma $$ with systematic errors included. The charged $$\Xi _{c}(2930)^+$$ is found in its decay to $$K_{S}^{0} \Lambda _{c}^+$$ in the substructure of $$\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow K^{0}_{S} \Lambda _{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda }_{c}^{-}$$ decays. The measured mass and width are $$[2942.3 \pm 4.4 ({\mathrm{stat.}}) \pm {1.5}({\mathrm{syst.}})]$$ MeV/ $$c^{2}$$ and $$[14.8 \pm 8.8({\mathrm{stat.}}) \pm {2.5}({\mathrm{syst.}})]$$ MeV, respectively, and the product branching fraction is $$\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow \Xi _c(2930)^{+} \bar{\Lambda }_{c}^{-}) \mathcal{B}(\Xi _c(2930)^{+}\rightarrow \bar{K}^{0} \Lambda _{c}^{+})=[2.37 \pm 0.51 ({\mathrm{stat.}})\pm 0.31({\mathrm{syst.}})]\times 10^{-4}$$ . We also measure $$\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}^{0} \rightarrow \bar{K}^{0} \Lambda _{c}^{+} \bar{\Lambda }_{c}^{-}) = [3.99 \pm 0.76({\mathrm{stat.}}) \pm 0.51({\mathrm{syst.}})] \times 10^{-4}$$ with greater precision than previous experiments, and present the results of a search for the charmonium-like state Y(4660) and its spin partner, $$Y_{\eta }$$ , in the $$\Lambda _{c}^{+}\bar{\Lambda }_{c}^{-}$$ invariant mass spectrum. No clear signals of the Y(4660) or $$Y_{\eta }$$ are observed and the 90% credibility level (C.L.) upper limits on their production rates are determined. These measurements are obtained from a sample of $$(772\pm 11)\times 10^{6} B\bar{B}$$ pairs collected at the $$\Upsilon (4S)$$ resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider.

We report the measurement of $\gamma \gamma \to \eta_{c}(1S), \eta_{c}(2S) \to \eta' \pi^+ \pi^-$ with $\eta'$ decays to $\gamma \rho$ and $\eta \pi^+ pi^-$ using 941 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The $\eta_{c}(1S)$ mass and width are measured to be $M = [2984.6\pm0.7 (stat.)\pm2.2 (syst.)] MeV/c^{2}$ and $\Gamma = [30.8^{+2.3}_{-2.2}~(stat.) \pm 2.5~(syst.)]$ MeV, respectively. First observation of $\eta_{c}(2S) \to \eta' pi^+ pi^-$ with a significance of 5.5$\sigma$ including systematic error is obtained, and the $\eta_{c}(2S)$ mass is measured to be $M = [3635.1\pm3.7~(stat.)\pm2.9~(syst.)] MeV/c^{2}$. The products of the two-photon decay width and branching fraction (B) of decays to $\eta' pi^+ pi^-$ are determined to be $\Gamma_{\gamma \gamma}B = [65.4\pm2.6~(stat.)\pm6.9~(syst.)]$ eV for $\eta_{c}(1S)$ and $[5.6^{+1.2}_{-1.1}~(stat.)\pm1.1~(syst.)]$ eV for $\eta_{c}(2S)$. A new decay mode for the $\eta_{c}(1S) \to \eta' f_{0}(2080)$ with $f_{0}(2080) \to \pi^+ pi^-$ is observed with a statistical significance of 20$\sigma$. The $f_{0}(2080)$ mass and width are determined to be $M = [2083^{+63}_{-66}~(stat.)\pm 32~(syst.)] MeV/c^{2}$ and $\Gamma = [178^{+60}_{-178}~(stat.) \pm 55~(syst.)]$ MeV. The cross sections for $\gamma \gamma \to \eta' pi^+ pi^-$ and $\eta' f_{2}(1270)$ are measured for the first time.

We study bottomonium production in association with an $$\eta $$ meson in $$e^+e^-$$ annihilations near the $$\varUpsilon (5S)$$ , at a centre-of-mass energy of $$\sqrt{s}=10.866$$ GeV. The results are based on the 121.4 fb $$^{-1}$$ data sample collected by the Belle experiment at the asymmetric-energy KEKB collider. Only the $$\eta $$ meson is reconstructed and the missing-mass spectrum of $$\eta $$ candidates is investigated. We observe the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \varUpsilon _J(1D)$$ process and find evidence for the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow \eta \varUpsilon (2S)$$ process, while no significant signals of $$\varUpsilon (1S)$$ , $$h_b(1P)$$ , nor $$h_b(2P)$$ are found. Cross sections for the studied processes are reported.

We report the results of a search for the rare, purely leptonic decay B- -> mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu) performed with a 711 fb(-1) data sample that contains 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The signal events are selected based on the presence of a high momentum muon and the topology of the rest of the event showing properties of a generic B-meson decay, as well as the missing energy and momentum being consistent with the hypothesis of a neutrino from the signal decay. We find a 2.4 standard deviation excess above background including systematic uncertainties, which corresponds to a branching fraction of B(B- -> mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu)) = (6.46 +/- 2.22 +/- 1.60) x 10(-7) or a frequentist 90% confidence level interval on the B- -> mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu) branching fraction of [2.9, 10.7] x 10(-7).

The first search for double charged charmoniumlike state production in gamma (IS) and gamma (2S) decays and in e(+) e(-) annihilation at root s = 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GcV is conducted using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy electron-positron collider. No significant signals are observed in any of the studied modes, and the 90% credibility level upper limits on their product branching fractions in gamma(1S) and gamma(2S) decays [B(gamma(1S, 2S) -> Z(c)(+)Z(c)((')-)) x B(Z(c)(+) -> pi(+) + c (c) over bar ) (c (c) over bar = J / psi, chi(c1) (1P), psi(2S))] and the product of Born cross section and branching fraction for e(+)e(-) -> Z(c)(+)Z(c)((')-)) (sigma(e(+)e(-) -> Z(c)(+)Z(c)((')-)) x B(Z(c)(+) -> pi(+) + c (c) over bar )) at root s = 10.52, 10.58, and 10.867 GeV are determined. Here, Z(c) refers to the Z(c) (3900) and Z(c) (4200) observed in the pi J/psi final state, the Z(c1)(4050) and Z(c2)(4250) in the pi chi(c1)(1P) final state, and the Z(c)(4050) and Z(c)(4430) in the pi psi(2S) final state.

We report a measurement of time-dependent CP violation parameters in B0→KS0ηγ decays. The study is based on a data sample, containing 772×106BB¯ pairs, that was collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We obtain the CP violation parameters of S=-1.32±0.77(stat)±0.36(syst) and A=-0.48±0.41(stat)±0.07(syst) for the invariant mass of the KS0η system up to 2.1 GeV/c2.
