The extravagantes, of the Revelationes coelestes of St. Brigid, chronicles the ascent to Mount Gargano. This text narrates an episode in the life of St. Brigid and sends a specific message to readers, while it operates at several levels: the symbolic, the narrative, and the theological. Thus, the description of the landscape as stated by St. Brigid becomes one of the soul: An environment painted in gloomy colors with no reference to reality. This description culminates in the angelic vision inside the cave of St. Michael. Here the angels blame widespread decadence on the moral corruption of the local population. Finally, we can establish that the description of the landscape of Gargano in fact becomes a device for moral instruction: A successful means of transmitting meaningful messages.ResumenLas extravagantes de las Revelaciones celestiales de Santa Brigida narran la ascension al Monte Gargano. Este texto refiere un episodio de la vida de Brigida y envia un mensaje preciso a los lectores, mientras actua en diferentes niveles: el simbolico, el narrativo y el teologico. Por tanto, la descripcion del paisaje propuesta por Santa Brigida representa mas bien un paisaje del alma. El entorno, sin embargo, esta pintado con colores oscuros y no representa la realidad. La descripcion culmina con la vision angelical en la cueva de San Miguel. Aqui los angeles justifican la decadencia general por la corrupcion moral de las poblaciones locales. Por tanto, se puede considerar que la descripcion del paisaje de Gargano es mas bien una instruccion moral. Un recurso acertado, que transmite mensajes sutiles.

У раду је предложено датовање раносредњовековног дубровачког катедралног храма Св. Петра Великог. Уочене су одређене аналогије са рељефном скулптуром из север- ноапулијских катедралних храмова из друге четвртине XI века. Захваљујући њима, a узимајући у обзир историју и организацију латинске цркве под политичком влашћу Византије у Апулији и дубровачкој дијецези у X и по- четком XI века, пре свега опште политичке прилике у Царству тог времена – подизањe дубровачког катедрал- ног храма смештено је у исти историјски оквир прве по- ловине XI века као и подизање северноапулијских кате- дралних храмова. The paper proposes a new dating for the early medieval Dubrovnik cathedral church of St. Peter the Great. Certain analogies have been found with the relief sculpture of the North Apulian cathedrals from the second quarter of the eleventh century. Thanks to them, and taking into account the history and organization of the Latin Church under the political rule of Byzantium in Apulia and in the Diocese of Dubrovnik in the tenth and at the beginning of the eleventh century, above all the political situation in the Byzantine Empire of that time – the construction of the Dubrovnik cathedral is placed in the same historical framework as the construction of North Apulian cathedrals – the first half of the eleventh century.
