This study proposed the research work is to synthesis and characterization of Titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The advanced materials can produced by using TiO2 nanoparticles reinforced with matix materials. TiO2 nanoparticles were exposed to X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Change Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), UV–Vis spectroscopy, and Examining Electron Microscopy (SEM) contemplate. XRD affirms the development of the anatase stage. The crystallite size of TiO2 nanoparticles determined from the expanding of diffraction tops utilizing the Scherer equation was roughly 19.72 nm. To study the survival rates at discharge and neurodevelopmental outcome at 1 y of corrected age (CA) of extremely-low-birth-weight ELBW neonates.This prospective, descriptive study was conducted in a tertiary care level III extramural NICU of a teaching hospital. Forty-nine extremely-low-birth-weight (ELBW) neonates were enrolled in the study from July 2017 to June 2018. Baseline demographic data, morbidities during NICU stay, and survival at discharge for the enrolled neonates were recorded. The enrolled infants were followed up to 1 y of CA at three-monthly intervals. During the follow-up, anthropometry, developmental screening by Denver Developmental Screening Test (DDST), and tone assessment by Amiel-Tison scale were done. Developmental Assessment Scale for Indian Infants (DASII) was administered at CA of 12 mo.Thirty-seven (75.5%) neonates survived to discharge. Survival rate of neonates with birth weight 750 g and with gestational age ≥ 26 wk was 90.2% and 85.7%, respectively. Amongst those 750 g or 26 wk (n = 8), none survived. Abnormal developmental quotient (DQ 70%) was seen in 6 infants out of 33 infants (18.1%) followed at 1 y of CA.Overall, 3/4

To investigate the physiological indices such as body weight, food and fluid drinking concern to antidiabetic properties of syringin and its useful outcome on hematological parameters in streptozotocin stimulated diabetic rats. Six normal and 18 diabetic rats totally 24 rats have been used for the present investigation. Streptozotocin was injected in male Wistar rats to induce diabetes through intraperitoneal route. After the confirmation of diabetes, the test animals were treated with distilled water through oral route or syringin 5 mg/kg body weight/ rat /day for 10 days. The diabetic treated groups compared with the controls were evaluated based on their hematological parameters such as red blood cells, white blood cells and its functional indices. The blood glucose levels significantly decreased in syringin injected rats. The intake of water and feed in diabetic rats were significantly decreased, whereas after syringin administration the weight loss was minimized. Congruently, the level of red blood cells, white blood cells and their functional key characters were also considerably enhanced. It can be conjectured that syringin has antihyperglycemic properties. In addition, it can positively amend some hematological parameters.

Defence against oxidative damage by UV-generated free radicals in both guinea pig and human skin has been found to be mediated by the ubiquitous thioprotein, thioredoxin reductase. Human keratinocytes contain approximately 5% thioredoxin reductase in their total acidic protein fraction and also express membrane-associated enzyme activity in cells cultured in synthetic medium. The thioredoxin reductase/thioredoxin system has been shown to reduce superoxide anion radicals through hydrogen peroxide to water. However, both UVA and UVB radiation, below the minimal erythemal dose, generate a sufficiently high concentration of oxygen radicals to deactivate thioredoxin reductase considerably. In albino guinea pigs, enzyme deactivation was up to 70% for UVA and 66% for UVB (n = 10 animals/protocol). The application of sun blockers SPF4, SPF8 and SPF15 to albino guinea pig skin offered no significant protection for the deactivation of thioredoxin reductase by either UVA or UVB radiation. In the human population (n = 15), thioredoxin reductase was deactivated by 54% with UVA and 36% with UVB radiation, although the degree of enzyme inhibition depended on skin phototype (I-VI, Fitzpatrick Classification). SPF24 offered considerable protection for thioredoxin reductase against both UVA and UVB for skin types I and II. However, SPF24 yielded no significant protection with UVA for skin types III-VI, and enhanced the enzyme inhibition with UVB additively. These results indicate that UVB photo-oxidation of oxybenzone (the UVA filter in SPF24) may deactivate thioredoxin reductase in more pigmented members of the population by Michael addition of oxybenzone semiquinone to the thiolate active site of this enzyme.

A computer controlled system for fast and accurate measurements of the TEo11, TEo12 mode attenuations in a helix waveguide over the frequency range of 85-110 GHz is described. Measurement is done by monitoring the change in amplitude of a 10-ns wide pulse propagating inside the helix, as a function of the position of a moving short circuiting piston. Data are acquired and processed by a mini-computer facility. A brief discussion on the generation of the desired waveguide modes and the results of some typical measurements are also given.

Hepatocellular jaundice occurring in patients with falciparum malaria has been called as malarial hepatitis.We studied 95 consecutive patients admitted with falciparum malaria. Of these 20 had evidence of malarial hepatitis. Their clinical presentation, complications and response to treatment was compared with that of patients without evidence of malarial hepatitis.The clinical presentation of these patients was not different from those without hepatitis. However, the incidence of complications such as renal failure (60% vs 25%; X2 = 8.47, p0.01), Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome (35% vs 3%; X2 = 18.13, p0.001) and septicemia (20% vs 6%; X2 = 4.01, p0.05) was significantly higher. The mortality also was higher in the group of patients with malarial hepatitis (40% vs 17%; X2 = 4.85, p0.05).We conclude that the presence of hepatitis in patients with falciparum malaria indicates a more severe illness with a higher incidence of complications and a poor prognosis.
