Heyelanlar yaşanan doğal afetler arasında en başta gelenlerdendir. Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde heyelanlar yaygın olarak görülmektedir. Türkiye’de en fazla heyelanın meydana geldiği il Trabzon’dur. Heyelanlar sebebiyle gerçekleşen kayıpları en aza indirmek amacıyla heyelan duyarlılığı yüksek olan sahaların önceden belirlenmesi için heyelan duyarlılık haritalarının hazırlanması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Analitik Hiyerarşi Süreci (AHS) ve Frekans Oranı (FR) yöntemleri kullanılarak, Trabzon ilinin Akçaabat ve Düzköy ilçe sınırları içerisinde, heyelan duyarlılığı yüksek olan sahaların belirlenmesi için heyelan duyarlılık analizi yapılmış ve heyelan duyarlılık haritaları üretilmiştir. Heyelan duyarlılık analizi için Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS) platformlarından ArcGIS for Desktop kullanılmıştır. Kamu kuruluşları ve açık erişimli çevrimiçi kaynaklardan coğrafi veriler temin edilmiştir. Çeşitli CBS araçları ile veriler çalışma alanına ve amacına göre mekânsal olarak düzenlenmiştir. Literatür araştırması sonucunda Heyelan duyarlılığı için eğim, eğim şekli, litoloji, yağış, bakı, topoğrafik nemlilik indeksi (TNI), akarsulara, karayollarına, fay hatlarına uzaklık, arazi kullanımı, toprak, yükseklik ve normalize edilmiş fark bitki örtüsü indeksi (NDVI) olmak üzere toplam 13 kriterin etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. AHS yöntemi kullanılarak her bir kriterin heyelan oluşumundaki etkilerinin önem dereceleri ile kriterler arası ağırlıkların belirlenmesi için ikili karşılaştırmalar yapılmış ve üst üste çakıştırma yapılarak AHS yöntemine göre heyelan duyarlılık haritası üretilmiştir. Ayrıca AFAD ve MTA’dan temin edilen heyelan envanter kayıtlarından yararlanılarak heyelan meydana gelen sahaların tüm çalışma sahasındaki etkisi göz önünde bulundurularak FR yöntemine göre heyelan duyarlılık haritası üretilmiştir. Her iki yöntemde üretilen haritalar karşılaştırıldığında, çalışma sahasında gözlenen heyelanların yerlerini belirleme açısından FR yönteminin AHS yöntemine göre daha gerçekçi sonuçlar ortaya koyduğu tespit edilmiştir., Landslides are one of the leading natural disasters in the Black Sea Region of Türkiye. Trabzon is the province where the most landslides occurred in the country. Landslide susceptibility maps should be prepared in order to predetermine the areas with high landslide susceptibility in order to minimize the losses due to landslides. In this study, landslide susceptibility analysis is performed, and landslide susceptibility maps are produced to reveal the areas with high landslide susceptibility within the boundaries of Akçaabat and Düzköy districts of Trabzon province using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Frequency Ratio (FR) methods. ArcGIS for Desktop, one of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) platforms, is used for landslide susceptibility analysis. Geographical data are obtained from public institutions and open access online sources. The data are spatially organized according to the study area and purpose by various GIS tools. A total of 13 criteria which are respectively; slope, curvature, lithology, precipitation, aspect, topographic wetness index (TWI), distance to rivers, distance to highways, distance to fault lines, land use, soil type, elevation and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) for landslide susceptibility are evaluated as effective to cause landslides as a result of the literature review. Pairwise comparisons are made to determine the importance of the effects of each criterion on landslide formation and the weights between the criteria by using the AHP method. Then a landslide susceptibility map is produced according to the AHP method. In addition, a landslide susceptibility map was produced according to the FR method using the landslide inventory records obtained from responsible institutes of the country. It is noticed that the FR method produced more realistic results than the AHP method in terms of determining the locations of the landslides observed in the study area when the maps produced by both methods are compared.

Belirli bir bölgede yaşayan toplumların ayırt edici özelliklerinden birisi yemek kültürüdür. Bir yörenin iklimi, coğrafyası ve bölgede yetişen tarımsal ürünleri, o yörenin mutfak kültürünü ve yemek çeşitliliğini şekillendirmektedir. Türk mutfağı tarihi süreç içerisinde yaşamış olduğu kültürel etkileşimler sonucunda hatırı sayılır bir zenginliğe kavuşmuştur. Bununla birlikte sahip olunan yöresel mutfak zenginlikleri zaman içerisinde unutulabilmektedir. Bu sebeple yerel ürünlerin korunması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılmasına yönelik çalışmalar yapılmalıdır. Trabzon, tarihi ve kültürel geçmişi ile mutfak kültürü açısından zengin bir şehirdir. Bu çalışmada, Trabzon'un yöresel yemeklerinden biri olan "Gecin" yemeğinin tanıtılması ve literatüre kazandırılması amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada Trabzon'da doğup büyüyen 70 yaş ve üzeri 10 kadınla yüz yüze görüşme yapılmıştır. Yüz yüze görüşmelerde yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme sonucunda elde edilen bulgular kayıt altına alınmıştır. Bulgular sonucunda elde edilen bilgilere göre; "Gecin" yemeğinin 100 yılı aşkın bir geçmişe sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Gecin yemeği eskisi kadar sık yapılmamakta ve yörede bazı aileler dışında tanınmamaktadır. Bu yemeğin unutulmaması, yöre restoranlarının menülerinde yer alması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılması için tanıtım çalışmalarının yapılması önem arz etmektedir.

Bu çalışmada, Trabzon kentinde son 10 yılda gelişen konut bölgelerinden örnek alan olarak seçilen Kaşüstü ve Yalıncak mahallelerinde yaşayan hane halkı oturdukları konuttan memnuniyet düzeyleri ve konut edinimlerinde etkili olan faktörlerin neler olduğunun betimsel bir yöntemle ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, yaşam kalitesi ile konut ve çevresinden memnuniyete ilişkin literatür incelenmesi sonucunda kullanıcı memnuniyetini değerlendirmeye yönelik göstergeler dört ana başlıkta ortaya konulmuştur. Bunlar; demografik göstergeler (yaş, eğitim durumu, meslek, hane halkı büyüklüğü), konut çevresi ve konutların nitel ve nicel özellikleri (önceki konut tipi, mevcut konut tipi, konut sahipliği, konutta ikamet süresi, konutun mimari niteliği, konut büyüklüğü, oda sayısı, kentsel altyapı, mekânsal donatı) konut alanının konumu ve erişilebilirliği (konum, ulaşım/yol altyapısı, doğal çevre) ve sosyal göstergelerdir (kimlik, güvenlik, mahremiyet, sosyal ilişkiler, statü, meta). Çalışma alanı olarak belirlenen Kaşüstü ve Yalıncak mahallelerinde, hane halkı düzeyinde elde edilen veriler SPSS programında değerlendirilerek göstergelerin kullanıcı memnuniyeti üzerindeki etkisi alan çalışması özelinde ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda, çalışma kapsamındaki konut alanlarında yaşayanların yaş, gelir durumu ve medeni durum gibi demografik göstergeler bakımından benzer profilde olduğu ve konut ve konut çevreleri ve sosyal göstergelerin bireylerin konut ve konut çevresi memnuniyetlerinde belirleyici unsurlar oldukları ortaya konulmuştur., This study’s aim is to reveal the satisfaction levels of individuals and factors affecting their housing acqusition in Kaşüstü and Yalıncak neighborhoods of Trabzon through a descrpitve method. The study area is selected among the residential areas that have been developed in the last 10 years. A literature survey on quality of life and satisfaction with housing and its environment is conducted and under four main headings indicators for evaluating user satisfaction were put forward. These indicators are demographic ones (age, education level, occupation, household size), housing environment and dwelling characteristics (previous and current house type, home ownership, duration of occupancy, number of rooms, etc.), location and accessibility of the housing area (location, transportaion/road infrastructure, natural environment) and social indicators (identity, security, privacy, social relations, status, commodity). In Kaşüstü and Yalıncak neighborhoods, the data obtained at the household level were evaluated in the SPSS program and the effects of the indicators on user satisfaction were revealed. It has been revealed that occupants of the study area have similar profiles regarding age, income status and marital status, and physical and social indicators are determining factors in the satisfaction of individuals with their housing and residential environment.

The increased pressures associated with climate change and urbanization processes adversely affect the quality of life of the cities and damage the sustainability of the cities. Sustainability of a city depends on the social, economic and ecological flexible uses that these pressures can tolerate. The examination of these flexible uses within the city brings along the sustainability of the landscape. Landscape serving flexible uses for urban sustainability; All the unconscious elements that make up that landscape, especially the vegetation landscape element, should support the concept of sustainability. Within the scope of the study, it was aimed to determine sustainable design approaches in the fields of planting and to create an evaluation scale accordingly by examining the sustainable planting design approaches in urban scale. An answer was sought to the question of how sustainable the planting activities of Trabzon province are. In the study, 40 studies defined as sustainable landscape areas were examined and 27 sub-parameters were developed under 4 main titles within the framework of these studies. The parameters are examined in the regions represented by the city components that make up the city and it is tried to determine what is necessary for the sustainability of the city

Bizans İmparatorluğu‟nun başkenti Konstantinopolis‟in 1204‟te Latinler tarafından işgali, devletin yeni bir merkezden idare edilmesi zorunluluğunu doğurmuştu. Bu merkezlerden biri olan Trabzon‟da, Komnenos hanedanlığından Aleksios ve David tarafından yeni bir devletin temeli atıldı. Kentte 13. yüzyılda süren imar faaliyetinde duvar resimleri, taş süslemeler ve yer mozaikleriyle zengin dekorasyona sahip birkaç kilise inşa edildi. Bu yapılar ve dekorasyonları Konstantinopolis‟in mimari ve sanatsal üslubunun devamıdır. Trabzon yapılarının döşemelerinde, başkent ve başkent etkisini yansıtan yapılarda benzerlerini gördüğümüz geometrik kompozisyonlar yer alır. Bu bağlamda, Ayasofya Kilisesi‟nin döşemeleri başkent üslubunu yansıtan iyi bir örnektir. Döşeme kilisenin naosunda, ana kubbeyi taşıyan dört sütun arasındaki 6.20 metrekarelik bölümde yer alır. Döşemenin merkezinde daire biçimli bir omphalion bulunmaktaydı. Levha 1860‟larda yerinden sökülerek bir süre Kromni‟deki Meryem‟in Doğumu Kilisesi‟nde tutulmuştu. 1924‟te Karadeniz bölgesinden ayrılan Rumlar tarafından omphalion Selanik‟e götürüldü. Aziz Georgios Rotondu‟nun arkeolojik koleksiyonunda korunan eser, sonradan bugünkü yerine, Selanik‟teki Bizans Kültürü Müzesi‟ne taşındı. Bu çalışmanın amacı omphalionun kayıp olmayıp, yerinden söküldüğünü bilim dünyasına duyurmak ve Bizans yer döşemelerinde benzerini başka yerde görmediğimiz, omphaliondaki “tavşan avlayan kartal” tasvirinin ikonografisi ve köken sorununu ele almaktır. Bu bağlamda çalışmamızda, Antik Çağdan ve Bizans Dönemi‟nden farklı eser gruplarındaki kartal, avcı kartal konulu paralel tasvirler yardımıyla genel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır., The invasion of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire, by the Crusaders in 1204 necessitated the administration of the state from a new center. In Trebizond, one of these centers, the foundation of a new state was laid by two members from the Comnenian dynasty, Alexios and David Comnenos. As a part of the construction activity that ongoing in the 13th century in Trebizond, several churches with rich decoration including mural painting, stonework and pavement were built. These buildings and their decorations are a continuation of the architectural and artistic style of the capital. The geometric compositions draw attention on the pavements of the Trapezuntine monuments reflecting the metropolitan style that occur both in the capital and the buildings reflecting the Constantinopolitan style. In this context, the pavement of St. Sophia Church in Trebizond is the one of the high quality examples reflecting the capital‟s style. The pavement placed in the naos of the church is in the 6.20 square meter section between the four columns carrying the main cuppola. There was a round omphalion in the center of the floor. This plate was removed from its place in the 1860s and was kept in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Kromni for a while. In 1924, the omphalion was carried to Thessaloniki by the Pontic Greeks who left the Black Sea region; the work, which was kept in the archaeological collection of the Rotunda of St. Georgios for a while, was later brought to its current location, the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki. The aim of this study is to mention that the omphalion is not lost, but dismantled from its original place, and to address the iconography and the origin problem of “the eagle hunting a hare” on Byzantine pavement, which we have not seen elsewhere. In this context, in this study, a general evaluation is made with the help of parallel depictions of eagle and hunter eagle in different artifacts from both the Ancient and Byzantine period.

It has been revealed in many studies that there are low seasonal capacity usage and low profit margins stemming from seasonality at the beginning of the problems of tourism destinations. In addition to minimizing seasonal effects, congress tourism has the potential to create a higher profit margin. This study aims to determine the potential role of congress tourism in the region in order to increase the tourism season of Trabzon for a maximum of three months. The research is designed with qualitative research method. Tourism stakeholders in Trabzon constitute the universe of the research. The sample of the study consists of 26 participants selected by purposeful sampling method. The data obtained by the semi-structured interview technique were analyzed through the MaxQda package program. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that the province of Trabzon has the potential of congress tourism but has several deficiencies. It is noteworthy that the most important deficiency is the size and number of congress centers that are large enough to host international congresses. The weakness of the city, especially on international flights, and the high price of domestic flights are determined as a negative situation. In addition, it has been concluded that the natural, historical and cultural attractions of the city of Trabzon provide an advantage to the city in terms of congress tourism.

Trabzon-Değirmendere Valley is the third holy place for the Orthodox after Jerusalem and Hagion Oros (the Holy mountain). This study intends, through a field work, to trace and document the places of worship built by non-Muslims in Hamsiköy Valley, which is a branch of Değirmendere Valley that had the densest non-Muslim population, not included in the current literature or not made subject to comprehensive determinations and analyses. On-site determination and documentation studies were carried out in the study by tracing down the Non-Muslim places of worship situated in Hamsiköy Valley. Coordinates of these buildings were established, measurements were conducted whether the building/remnant was existing, schematic plans were drawn and photographs were taken. Inventory forms were generated in accordance with the information obtained. The building/remnants were processed on maps and their locations/positions were documented and their interrelations and the topography of the area was exhibited. A total number of 47 non-Muslim worship places were identified in Hamsiköy Valley in the current literature. Only 14 of these 47 buildings were located during the land study and 19 more buildings that could not be matched with the 47 buildings in the literature were identified during the field work. Hamsiköy Valley which is a branch of Değirmendere Valley, extending from the center of Maçka to Zigana in the south defines the spatial boundaries of the research. While the beginning of the period in question commences with conquest of Trabzon by the Ottoman, the temporal boundary of the study is drawn by the 19th century when extensive rights were granted to non-Muslims and then Turkish-Greek population exchange that took in 1923. This study was conducted for tracing down the places of worship built by non-Muslims in the past in Hamsiköy Valley in Trabzon. These non-Muslim buildings, for which there is not enough information about their current situation despite references in the literature, were identified on site, their coordinates were determined, their sketches were drawn, photographed and taken into inventory.

With the increasing density of built spaces in urban areas, the need for open spaces increases every day. Squares are one of the most important of these open spaces. Urban squares allow various activities and exhibit functional differences based on location and culture. The diversity of activities conducted in squares is extremely important for the quality and viability of liveable urban spaces. Urban residents prefer spaces that are suitable for individual requirements and desires and allow for a variety of activities. These spaces also contribute to social life. This article aimed to determine the user profile, occupancy, facilities and activity diversity at the Ataturk Plaza (Trabzon urban square) in Trabzon, the capital city of Trabzon Province, Turkey. The occupants of the square and their numbers were analysed via the behaviour observation method. As a result of the observations conducted in the square over one year, 17 activities were identified. The majority of these activities were necessary activities and that the most common activity was walking. The occupancy density and distribution in the square were analysed using the Geographical Information System (GIS). These research findings and analyses could serve as a guide for future urban square and urban open space designs. The aim of this study is to evaluate the parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, salinity, biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solid, ammonia, chlorophyll-a and heavy metals affecting total coliform values in seawater using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) modelling at the Eastern Black Sea coast of Turkey. The results obtained from ANN model were compared with actual total coliform values. The samples were taken from the different points selected along the deep sea discharge systems starting from the diffuser end of three domestic deep sea discharge systems at Turkey's Eastern Black Sea coast. ANN model was developed for estimating the relationship between total coliform and other parameters. The parameters measured in seawater samples were analyzed by using the ANN model for prediction of coliform values. The results showed that neural network model is capable of estimating the sea pollution with a reasonable accuracy.

WOS: 000401891900023 During lichenological exploration in Turkey, two lichenised fungi (Micarea micrococca, Sagedia zonata) and one lichenicolous fungus (Stigmidium microspilum) were established as new records for Asia, and one lichenised fungus (Bacidia chloroticula) as new for Turkey. Illustrations are accompanied by brief descriptions and comments on habitat, substrate, and geographical distribution.

We assess the sociolinguistic vitality of Romeyka, the only Asia Minor Greek variety, which, albeit endangered, is still spoken in the Black Sea region, Turkey (historically known as Pontus), by means of nine extralinguistic (i.e. sociological) and sociolinguistic factors, specially tailored for the situation of Romeyka. Our current vitality assessment addresses an Istanbulite community, although the results will be compared against a rural community in the Black Sea, namely ‘Anasta’ [Sitaridou, I. 2013. “Greek-Speaking Enclaves in Pontus Today: The Documentation and Revitalization of Romeyka.” In Keeping Languages Alive: Language Endangerment: Documentation, Pedagogy and Revitalization, edited by M. Jones and S. Ogilvie, 98–112. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press]. We used the direct approach to conduct an attitudinal survey–the first of its kind for Romeyka–which allows us to track the interrelation of vitality factors. The most relevant factors were (i) Turkish language policies and education; (ii) identity function of the language; and (iii) language competence. Furthermore, as an often-neglected factor, the language of data elicitation was shown to affect the answers of respondents. The following variables were also found pertinent: (iv) age, (v) gender, (vi) speech community; the latter is argued to constitute the most crucial factor for Romeyka’s vitality.

In this study, Camerino city and Trabzon city were asked to answer these concepts, since the historical values, their meanings, their learning, and their cultural values must be determined and preserved in order to protect the environment. For this purpose, the interpretation of old-new reconstruction together with imitation and contrast approach has been examined for the problem of "harmony" and "integration" which is one of the biggest problems encountered in today's historical environments. The research area is limited to Italy Camerino city and Turkey Trabzon site. In the study, sampling methods were used in direct Camerino and Trabzon cities. Gastronomy tourism is defined as a type of tourism that deals with the relationship between food and beverages and culture in the context of the local culinary culture. Local dishes, recipes, and culinary culture, which express the lifestyle of cities, are an important part of tourists&rsquo, choice of destinations. According to many studies undertaken in recent years, tourists have seen an increase in the number of trips conducted to taste a cultural dish and to learn cooking techniques and cooking skills. In this study, the Trabzon (Turkey) and Podhale (Poland) regions were selected as a study area. These regions are characterised by unique, very interesting culture and art and, especially, folklore. The cuisines from Podhale and from the Trabzon region are equally attractive. The study was conducted on 151 people in Trabzon and 102 respondents in the Podhale region. The study revealed that only 15 out of 253 respondents had not heard about regional and traditional products. The authors analyzed whether people from different age groups had specific habits concerning the place of purchasing regional products in the analysed regions of Poland and Turkey. Regarding the question of whether the motivation to buy regional products was the same in households with a larger and smaller number of residents, it was found that only one correlation proved to be statistically significant: the correlation between household size and buying regional products because of their price.

Singer, and Suillellus pulchrotinctus (Alessio) Blanco-Dios were identified and recorded for the first time for the Turkish fungal biodiversity. Field and laboratory images, descriptions, and a brief discussion about the new records are provided.

1932-1942yılları arasında yazılmış olan, Trabzon-Beşikdüzü yöresine ait yedi adet özelmektup, ilk kez bu çalışmada incelenecektir. Mektuplardan ilki 1932 yılına,ardından incelenen beş tanesi 1942 yılına ait olup, en sonuncusu ise tarihsizbir mektuptur. Bu mektuplardan Trabzon yöresinin ve dolaylı olarak Anadolu’nunbelirtilen on yıllık süreçteki sosyal durumuna dair çıkarımlar eldeedilecektir. Yakın tarihin toplumsal yaşamdaki bazı bilinmeyenlerine dairveriler içeren bu mektuplar, tarih ve kültür araştırmaları açısından oldukçaönemlidir. Bu bağlamda mektuplar incelenirken, mektupların tarihe vetarihçiliğe katkıları da değerlendirilmeye çalışılacaktır. 1932-1942 dönemindeyazılmış mektuplar, Trabzon yöresinin geçmişteki sosyal yaşantısı hakkında bilgilerverirken, bugünkü durumuyla mukayese olanağı da tanımaktadır. Yörede veTürkiye’deki ortalama seksen yıllık toplumsal değişimin anlaşılmasında bumektupların önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Çalışmada incelenen yedi mektuptatarihe, edebiyata, sosyolojiye ve folklora katkı sağlayacak pek çok veribulunmaktadır. 1928’deki Harf İnkılabı’ndan sonra, içerik ve şekil bakımındankırsalda yıllarca sürdürülen Osmanlı’nın son dönemine ait mektuplaşma kültürü,Türkiye’de askerlik ve askerde alınan eğitimin sivil yaşamda mesleğe dönüşümü,hayvancılık ve yaylacılık, yörede fındık, buğday ve mısır üretimi, yaşanankıtlık, kuraklık ve salgın hastalıklarla bunların halk üzerindeki etkileri gibikonular, bu çalışmada incelenen mektupların içeriğini teşkil etmektedir., The special seven letters belonging to Trabzon-Besikduzu region thatwritten in between the years of 1932-1942, will be examined at this work forthe first time. The first of these letters is belonging to 1932, the followingfive letters examined are belonging to 1942 and the last one is an undatedletter. It will be achieved some inferences about social situation signified atthe decennary process of Trabzon region and implicitly Anatolia from theseletters. The letters including donnees about some mysteries at social life oflate history, are pretty important with regard to the studies of history andculture. In this context, while examining the letters, it will be attempted toevaluate the contributions to history and the historicism. The letters writtenat the period of 1932-1942 make possible to comparison with its recentsituation, while informing about the social life of Trabzon region. It isthought that the letters are important to make sense of the social evolutionmeaning eighty-year period in the region and Turkey. There are many donneeswill contribute to the history, literature, sociology and the folk at the sevenletters examined. After the Alphabet Reform in 1928, the subjects are formedthe content of the letters that examined in this study like the culture ofcorrespondence belonging to the last period of Ottoman perseveratived for yearsat the country side in point of the content and form, the soldiery in Turkeyand its transformation of the education achieved at military service to thecareer at civilian life, husbandry and transhumance, the production ofhazelnut, wheat and corn at region, famine encountered, drought and epidemicsand their effects for the public.

“Tipik” bir feminist araştırmada, feminist kadın araştırmacı lar feminist metodolojilerden yararlanarak, genellikle kadınlar olan görüşülenlerini empati yardımıyla anlamaya çalışırken, bu aktörler ile empati kurarak onların güçlenmesine ve özgürleşmesine katkıda bulunmayı hedeflerler. Buna karşın pro feminist ve erkek bir araştırmacının ataerkilliğin asli failleri ve yarar sağlayanları olan erkekleri incelerken görüşülenlerle empati kurması feminist bir araştırma bağlamında araştırmacının hem kendisiyle, hem savunduğu yaklaşımla, hem de yararlandığı metodolojiyle ilişkisinde derin çelişkiler yaratır. Bu makalede son yıllarda ataerkil ve sağcı olaylarla sıklıkla gündeme gelen bir kent olan Trabzon’da 2010-2011 arasında pro feminist erkek bir araştırmacı tarafından gerçekleştirilen bir alan çalışmasının öyküsü dolayımıyla, pro feminist bir yaklaşımla erkeklikleri incelemenin metodolojik güçlükleri tartışılmaktadır, In a “typical” feminist research, trying to understand their respondents who are generally women by establishing empathy, the female feminist researcher s aim to contribute their empowerment and emancipation by utilizing feminist methodologies. On the other hand, if a pro feminist and male researcher establishes empathy with the respondent men, who are the primary agents and beneficiaries of patriarchy, creates deeper conflicts both with himself, the approach he adopts, and with the methodology he utilizes, in terms of a feminist research. In this article, the methodological difficulties of investigating masculinities with a pro feminist approach is discussed, focusing on the story of a field research conducted between 2010-2011 by a pro feminist male researcher in the city of Trabzon Turkey which frequently came to the forefront with a number of patriarchal and rightist incidents in the last years.

Trabzon’un Araklı ilçesi, Birinci Dünya Savaşı yıllarında Doğu Karadeniz’dekiRus işgaline karşı gerçekleştirilen savunmanın önemli mevkilerden biridir. 1914yılında Birinci Dünya Savaşı’nın başlaması ve Osmanlı Devleti’nin Karadeniz’dekiRus limanlarını bombardıman ederek savaşa girmesi üzerine, Çarlık Rusya’sıda Osmanlı Devleti’ne savaş ilan etmiştir. Ruslar, Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi’ne yönelikolarak şiddetli bir taarruza girişmiştir. Sahil kesimini iç kesimlere bağlayanstratejik bir yol üzerinde bulunan Araklı, Rus işgalcilerinin ciddi hedeflerindenbiri olmuştur. Artvin, Rize, Of civarlarından Trabzon’a yaklaşan Rus kuvvetlerinekarşı Trabzon sınırları içinde özellikle sivil milislerin de katılmasıyla karşı konulmuştur.Bu doğrultuda Türk kuvvetlerinin Ruslara karşı oluşturduğu ana savunmahatlarından biri, Araklı’nın Karadere ve Yanbolu Dere vadilerinde olmuştur. Ruslarakarşı ilk önce sahil kesiminde gösterilen, fakat daha sonra Araklı’nın iç kesimlerinekaydırılan savunma, ilerleyen süreçte Ruslara karşı büyük bir taarruzadönüşecektir. Araklı civarı bir taraftan da Rus ve Ermeni zulmü ile karşı karşıyakalmıştır. İşgal nedeniyle Araklı’yı terk eden halkın çoğunluğu ise iki yıl sürecekağır bir göç olayıyla büyük maddi manevi kayıplara uğramış ve hatta büyük birsosyal travma yaşamıştır.

Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi, doğa ve kültür mantarlarının gelişimi ve çeşitliliği bakımından diğer bölgelere göre avantajlı konumdadır. Mantar gelişimi için gereken ekolojik koşullar bölgenin doğasında hemen her mevsim kendiliğinden oluşmaktadır. Özellikle kültür mantarı yetiştiriciliğinde en büyük mali giderlerden biri olan soğutma ve ısıtma masrafları bu sayede aşağı çekilebilmektedir. Ancak bu tür avantajlara rağmen Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde mantar üretim ve tüketim miktarı istenen düzeyde değildir. Çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturan bu tespit; Doğu Karadeniz’in kalabalık nüfuslu illerinden biri olan Trabzon’u akla getirmiş ve söz konusu ilde mantar tüketim alışkanlıkları, hazırlanan bir anket formu yardımıyla araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada ayrıca katılımcıların sosyo-demografik özelliklerinin tüketim alışkanlıklarına olan etkisi de araştırılmıştır. Anket çalışması 2014 yılı nisan ve mayıs ayları içerisinde ‘Basit Tesadüfi Örnekleme’ yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Anket sorularının değerlendirilmesinde SPSS 13.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) programı kullanılmış, anlamlılık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki Chi- square (X2) testi ile hesaplanmıştır. Katılımcıların % 74.6’sı kültür mantarı tükettiğini, % 25.4’ü tüketmediğini, aynı katılımcıların % 38.1’i doğada kendiliğinden yetişen mantarı tükettiğini ve % 61.8’i tüketmediğini belirtmiştir. Mantar tüketiminin artırılması için yapılması gerekenler arasında; tüketicilerin bilinçlendirilmesi ilk sırada yer almıştır., Eastern Black Sea region has the advantage in terms of growth and diversity of culture and wild mushrooms compared to the other regions of Turkey. Almost each season, necessary ecological conditions occur for the growth of the mushrooms in nature of region, spontaneously. Thus, especially heating and cooling costs which is one of the most important financial expenses in mushroom cultivation can be reduced in this way. Despite of these advantages, production and consumption of mushroom is not at the desired level in many provinces of Eastern Black Sea region. This case which is the exit point of project brought to mind Trabzon which is one of the prominent cities in many respect of Eastern Black Sea region. Mushroom consumption habits in this area were examined with wia survey forms. In addition; the effect of socio-demographic characteristics of the participants to the consumption habits was also investigated. Survey study was done by using 'Simple Random Sampling' in the months of April and May of 2014. SPSS 13.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used for evaluation of survey question; relationship between significance level was determined by Chi- square (X2) test. Participants of the 74.6% were indicated that consumed culture mushroom and participants of the 38.1% were indicated that consumed nature mushroom. Bu araştırma, Giresun ve Trabzon illerinde yaşayan insanların balık tüketim alışkanlıklarının ve tercihlerinin ortaya konması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Anket sonuçlarına göre katılanların su ürünlerini birinci sırada (% 41), tavuk etini ikinci sırada (% 33), kırmızı eti ise üçüncü sırada (% 26) tükettikleri tespit edilmiştir. Katılımcıların % 7.5'i su ürünleri tüketmezken, % 92.5'i tükettiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Kişi başı yıllık su ürünleri tüketimi ortalama 29.52 kg olarak tespit edilmiştir. En çok tüketilen su ürünü % 17.75 ile hamsidir. Katılımcıların % 95.14’ünün balığı taze olarak tükettiği, tüketim şekli olarak da kızartma (% 52.97) veya ızgara (% 29.73) tercih ettiği saptanmıştır, This research has been conducted to display the seafood consumption habits and preferences of people living in the Giresun and Trabzon province. According to survey results, it has been determined that participants consume seafood (41 %) at first place, chicken meat (33 %) at second and red meat (26 %) at third place. Although, 7.5 % of the participants do not consume seafood, 92.5 % of them indicated that they do. The average yearly seafood consumption per capita was determined as 29.52 kg. Anchovy is the most consumed sea food with 17.75 % consumption. It has been determined that 95.14% of the participants consume fish as fresh and prefer fried (52.97 %) or grill (29.73 %) as form of consumption

Hızlı nüfus artışı, teknolojik ilerleme, sanayileşme, doğal ve kültürel kaynak değerlerinin bilinçsizce ve plansızca tüketimi, ilkim değişiklikleri, afetler beraberinde peyzajların doğal dengesinin bozulmasına, kültürel değerlerinin tahrip edilmesine ve dolayısıyla zaman içerisinde peyzajların değişimine neden olmaktadır. Bu değişimlerin uluslar arası ölçekte fark edilmesi, tüm peyzajların belirlenmesi, korunması, yönetimi ve planlamasını içeren Avrupa Peyzaj Sözleşmesini (APS) gündeme getirmiştir. Bu kapsamda irdelenen bu araştırmanın amacı Meryemana Vadisi Havzası’nın 1987 ile 2015 yılları arasındaki peyzaj değişimini tespit etmek, havzanın peyzaj karakter analizini ve değerlendirmesini yapmak ve sonuçta doğal ve kültürel değerler ile tarihi izlerin korunduğu doğa koruma ve turizm odaklı sonuçlar üreten örnek bir peyzaj planlama sürecini gerçekleştirmektir.

Park tasarımında, öncelikle alanın doğal (topoğrafyası, bitki örtüsü, mikroklima vb) ve fiziksel (mevcut yaya ve taşıt trafiği vb.) özellikleri iyi değerlendirilmelidir. Tasarım, alanın özellikleri ve sınırlarıyla uyumlu olmalıdır. Tasarımda doğayı mümkün olan tüm çeşitliliği ile kente taşıyacak doğal taksonlara ve yeşil alanlara yer verilmelidir. Kentlerdeki parklar, insan ve doğa arasında bozulan ilişkiyi dengelerken kent mekânına da fiziksel ve estetik değer sağlar. Parklardaki bitkilendirmeler ve kullanılan bitki türleri sahip oldukları çeşitliliklerinin yanı sıra ortaya koydukları doğal bitki örtüsü ve farklı kompozisyon tipleri bakımından önemlidirler. Bu çalışmada Trabzon kenti içerisindeki parklar (alan büyüklüğü 1 ha üzerinde olanlar) ve bu parklar içinde bulunan bitki kompozisyonları (bitkilerin ölçüleri açısından), bitki türleri ve doğallık oranları değerlendirilmiştir. Bu amaçla yapılan çalışmada beş farklı parkta toplam 103 farklı bitki taksonu belirlenmiştir. Bu bitkilerin ortaya koydukları çeşitlilikler, doğal ya da egzotik olma durumları ve bitkisel tasarımda ölçü açısından nasıl kullanıldıkları belirlenmiştir. Parklarda gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada ölçü açısından değerlendirilen bitkisel komposizyonlar da en çok belirlenen hata dikim aralıklarına dikkat edilmemesi olmuştur., In the design of parks, natural (topography, vegetation, microclimate, etc.) and physical (currentpedestrian and vehicle traffic, etc.) features of an area should be primarily evaluated in a careful way.The design must be compatible with the characteristics and limitations of space. Natural taxa andgreen areas that will bring nature into the city with all the possible variety should be included in thedesign. While urban parks balance the deteriorating relation between the human and nature, theyalso provide physical and aesthetic value to the urban space. Planting in parks and plant species usedare important in terms of natural vegetation and different composition types they reveal in additionto their diversity. In this study, parks in the city of Trabzon (with the area size above 1 ha) and plantcompositions in these parks (in terms of plants’ sizes), plant species and natural rates were assessed.In the study conducted for this purpose, a total of 103 different plant taxa were determined in fivedifferent parks. The diversity revealed by these plants, their being native or exotic and how they areused in planting design in terms of size were determined. In this study, which was performed in parks,the errow which was determined at most in planting compositions evaluated in terms of size hasbecome not paying attention to planting distances.

WOS: 000262495900013, Environmental databases generated by automation of the decision-making process for resolving complex environmental problems can be used more efficiently than traditional environmental evaluation. Such databases allow access to and analysis of spatial information at either the local or regional level for purposes including the development and assessment of effect of environmental policies, land use planning, precautions for natural disasters, monitoring of the effects of such disasters, and planning of the responses to them. This requires gathering data about local and regional resources, including data on access to roads and rivers, settlements, soil, land cover, and population. The study reported here highlights some technical problems associated with the collection and integration of data from a data-poor environment, and describes the potential benefits of integrating spatial data in relation to environmental problems. The Black Sea region of Turkey, especially the Trabzon province, in which the study was conducted, is burdened with adverse environmental conditions in terms of climate, topography, and land cover. These adverse conditions often cause landslides and in some areas restrict settlement. The purpose of the study described here was to analyze the spatial change (1990-2000) in population distribution in the Trabzon province and to detect potential landslide areas within the province by using functions incorporated in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Çalışma ortamından kaynaklanan fiziksel ve ruhsal sorunlar nedeni ile oluşan tükenmişlik özellikle insanlarla birebir etkileşim içerisinde olan çalışanlarda oldukça yoğun olarak görülmektedir. Duygusal tükenme, duyarsızlaşma ve kişisel başarıda oluşan düşüklük olarak kendini üç farklı alt boyutta gösteren tükenmişlik çalışana ve hizmet verdiği insanlara zarar vermektedir. Çalışanların bulundukları ortam nedeni ile sahip olabilecekleri diğer bir olumsuzluk depresyon yaşama sıklıklarıdır. Bu çalışmada Trabzon Kanuni Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesinde çalışan hemşirelerin tükenmişlik ve depresyon düzeylerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla ana kütleyi temsilen seçilen 82 hemşireden elde edilen demografik, çalışma şartları ve beck depresyon ölçeği sonuçları istatistiki olarak irdelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen tükenmişlik alt ölçek puanlarının literatürle büyük oranda uyumlu olduğu ancak duyarsızlaşma alt boyutunda önemli düzeyde bir artışın olduğu belirlenmiştir. Beck depresyon ölçeği puan ortalaması ise literatür değerleri ile uyumlu düzeyde olup ağır depresyon düzeyinde çalışan belirlenmemiştir., Burnout, being formed because of physical and mental problems which caused by working environment, especially appears among employees who are interact with human beings individually. Burnout differs in three ways as, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment and it damages employees and the people who are served. Another negative condition caused by environment is frequency of depression experience. In this study, it aims to investigate burnout and depression level of nurses in Trabzon Kanuni Education and Research Hospital. Demographic, working conditions and scale of Beck depression results of selected 82 nurses are statistically studied. As a result of the study, subscales of burnout are related with previous studies but a significant raise is determined in depersonalization. Beck depression results are related to the previous ones and it is not determined any employee being in severe depression level.

Akarsularve kıyıları, hem kentsel hem de kırsal alanlarda canlılar için yaşam alanıoluşturmanın yanısıra, estetik, ekolojik ve rekreasyonel aktivitelere olanaksağlama gibi işlevlerle korunması ve rehabilite edilmesi gereken alanlardır.Bunun yanısıra, bu alanlar bulundukları çevrelerin estetik kalitesiniarttırarak, kullanıcılar için çekici rekreasyonel alanlar oluştururlar. Yeşilalanlarda olduğu gibi bu kıyılar da hızla artan nüfus ve plansız yapılaşmasebebiyle tahrip olmaktadır. Bu nedenlerle akarsu kıyılarının korunması veyenilenmesi çevre dostu peyzaj tasarımları oluşturmak açısından önceliklikonular arasındadır. Çalışma, Trabzon Solaklı deresi kıyılarında yapılanrehabilitasyon çalışmalarının bu alanların peyzaj kalitesini arttırmada etkiliolup olmadığını belirlemeyi hedeflemiştir. Bu amaçla çalışma alanının önceki vesonraki durumunu yansıtan görüntüleri içeren anketler, alan kullanıcılarınasorgulanmıştır. Elde edilen 207 anket sonucuna göre alanın proje öncesi durumuile proje sonrası durumunun peyzajkaliteleri arasında olumlu yönde önemli farklılıklar olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.Yapılan rehabilitasyon çalışması akarsuyun ve kıyısının peyzaj değeriniarttırmış ve kıyıya rekreasyonel kullanım potansiyeli kazandırmıştır. Sonuçolarak, akarsu rehabilitasyon çalışmalarının havza yönetim planları içerisinesokularak uygulanması gerektiği vurgulanmıştır., Riparian zones are unique landscapes that should beprotected and restored by governing bodies as they offer habitats for variousplants and animals. Moreover, these areas enhance the aesthetic quality andcreate recreationally attractive zones for the potential users. Urban sprawland increasing populations are major threats for the riparian ecosystems as itis experienced in the case of deforestation. Therefore, protecting andrestoring riparian areas is an issue of high priority for creating eco-friendlyrecreational facilities. This study aimsat investigation of the Trabzon-Solaklı streamside restoration project in termsof its contribution to overall landscape quality of the area. For this purpose,pre and post project images of the area were shown to the users to receivetheir evaluation and scoring of the related landscape attributes by applying aquestionnaire. According to 207 respondents, the overall landscape quality ofthe Solaklı stream was greatly and positively enhanced. Landscape value andrecreational potential of the region was also increased after the streamsiderestoration. It is concluded that streamside restoration projects should beapplied and embedded in to river basin management plans.

WOS: 000077365800003, The eastern Pontides region is a mountainous terrain favourable for massive sulphide deposits. Besides the known deposits, it is highly likely that there are others to be discovered. This paper, therefore, describes the results of a soil and biogeochemical sampling program to assess the suitability of biogeochemical methods for the exploration of hidden deposits in temperate terrains. Soil sampling in the Pontides is shown to be a reliable follow-up method. It produced a significant geochemical response characterised by extensive Cu and Zn but localised Pb anomalies. Lead therefore is the element which can be used to pinpoint the mineralisation due to its relatively less mobile character. Hydromorphic dispersion enhanced the anomalies indicating that base of slope samples would produce reliable results. Of the plant species sampled, Corylus avellana (hazelnut tree) with deep penetrating roots shows comparable results to soil sampling and could be used to delineate the mineralisation. Rhododendron luteum may also be of help. In both species Pb shows limited dispersion and accumulates in the plants near the mineralised site whereas Cu and Zn tend to move away downslope. This shows that biogeochemical sampling could, with proper attention to species selection, be successfully used as an alternative method in the search of massive sulphide deposits in mountainous terrains with a high rainfall such as the eastern Pontides. Son bölümde, çalışmada incelenmiş Trabzon türküleri şekillerle gösterilmiştir., The ?Study of Rhythmic Origin of Folk Music in Trabzon? consists of four chapters. In the 1st chapter, definition of rhythm, metrum, number of measurement and as well as the form and metric form of the regional songs have been analyzed, and also opinions of various academicians and musicians have been presented. In the 2nd and 3rd chapter, some metric and rhythmic identification has been made with the notes collected from TRT and special archives, and the obtained samples are classified and shown with tables and figures and the conclusion has been reached after having made rhythmic analysis and determination about free, composite form and as well as tempo and melodic composition. ÖZET Yerel medya organlarının, ticari medya şirketlerinden ve devletin medya kurumlarından farklı olarak konumlandıkları yerin ve sahip oldukları temel özelliklerin kuramsal olarak tespit edilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Ancak, bu konuda ortaya konan teorilerin yapılacak alan araştırmaları ile mevcut uygulamalarla olanla irtibatını ortaya koymak gerekmektedir. Medyanın küyerelleşmesi ise hem teorik, hem de pratik anlamda incelenmesi gereken bir konudur. Bu çerçevede yapılan araştırmada Trabzon’da yayıncılık yapan 16 farklı medya kurumunun temsilcileri ile mülakatlarda bulunulmuştur. Özellikle yerel medyaların yerel kültür ve sermayeyle olan ilişkileri çerçevesinde yayın politikalarında hangi noktalarda süreklilik ve hangi noktalarda değişim gösterdikleri incelenmiştir. However, the contacts between the detected teories and reality/practice have to be exhibited by field studies. Moreover, the glocalization of media is a notion which has to be examine both teoricaly and practicaly. On this freme, within the field study it has been interviewed with the representatives of 16 different media corparations in Trabzon. WOS: 000272615400036, PubMed ID: 19083107, The main objective of this study is to generate a knowledge base which is composed of user-defined variables and included raster imagery, vector coverage, spatial models, external programs, and simple scalars and to develop an expert classification using Landsat 7 (ETM+) imagery for land cover classification in a part of Trabzon city. Expert systems allow for the integration of remote-sensed data with other sources of geo-referenced information such as land use data, spatial texture, and digital elevation model to obtain greater classification accuracy. Logical decision rules are used with the various datasets to assign class values for each pixel. Expert system is very suitable for the work of image interpretation as a powerful means of information integration. Landsat ETM data acquired in the year 2000 were initially classified into seven classes for land cover using a maximum likelihood decision rule. An expert system was constructed to perform post-classification sorting of the initial land cover classification using additional spatial datasets such as land use data. The overall accuracy of expert classification was 95.80%. Individual class accuracy ranged from 75% to 100% for each class.

Being in the workplace while worker is ill- called as presenteizm- cause loss of productivity in the workplace. Also this cause affect badly worker‟s general health and loss of cost as an establishment. It is possible to say that life satisfaction, phycial and sensual benefits support workers while they are working in the workplace. In this context, it is processed that preseteizm was identified why people have to go work while th ey are ill. And the interaction between presenteeism and employees‟ life satisfaction, physical and mental well-being were reviewed. That‟s why a survey was held in Trabzon for the staff of travel agencies, Hasta iken işyerinde bulunma olarak adlandırılan presenteeism, üretkenlik kaybı ve tıbbi açıdan bir takım sorunlar yaratarak, hem işgörenlerin ilerleyen dönemlerde genel sağlığını etkileyebilmekte, hem de işletmeleri önemli maliyet kayıpları ile karşı karşıya bırakmaktadır. Öte yandan; yaşam doyumu, fiziksel iyilik hali ve ruhsal iyilik halini tanımlayan unsurların, işgörenlerin işlerinde tam performans ile çalışmalarını desteklediğini ve işgücü verimliliğini artırmakta önemli bir role sahip olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Bu çerçevede araştırmada; işgörenlerin hasta olduğu halde işe gitmesine (presenteeism) neden olan etkenler ve presenteeism sorunu tespit edilirken, presenteeism ile işgörenlerin yaşam doyumu, fiziksel ve ruhsal iyilik hali arasındaki etkileşim ele alınmaktadır. Bu amaçla, Trabzon ilinde faaliyet gösteren seyahat acentaları işgörenleri üzerinde tarama tipinde tasarlanan bir araştırma yapılmıştır
