[EN] Enriched environments in animal models have demonstrated that exposure to an optimal stimulus improves behavior, cognition, and genomics. However, the evidence base for the neurophysiological influence of human environment enrichment has not been extensively studied. This systematic review compiles indicators about the effect of built, indoor environments on the cognitive processes of memory and attention in humans. This work pursues two main objectives: (1) to define current knowledge and the methods that are useful and identify whether previously published studies indicate consistencies and (2) to report the approaches and strategies that can be used in evaluating cognitive processes affected by environment response. Results of this systematic review show that (1) form and geometry, (2) space distribution and context, (3) color and texture, (4) height, width, and enclosure, (5) transition and circulation, and (6) light, sound, and temperature have an impact on memory and/or attention, and they can be assessed objectively. Despite all the advances in this field, methodological limitations and a lack of cross-validated standard protocols are found. The identification of molecules in exoplanetary atmospheres is only possible thanks to the availability of high-resolution molecular spectroscopic data. However, due to its intensive and time-consuming generation process, at present, only on order 100 molecules have high-resolution spectroscopic data available, limiting new molecular detections. Using routine quantum chemistry calculations (i.e., scaled harmonic frequency calculations using the B97-1/def2-TZVPD model chemistry with median errors of 10cm-1), here we present a complementary high-throughput approach to rapidly generate approximate vibrational spectral data for 2743 molecules made from the biologically most important elements C, H, N, O, P and S. Though these data are not accurate enough to enable definitive molecular detections and does not seek to replace the need for high-resolution data, it has powerful applications in identifying potential molecular candidates responsible for unknown spectral features. We explore this application for the 4.1 micron (2439cm-1) feature in the atmospheric spectrum of WASP-39b, listing potential alternative molecular species responsible for this spectral line, together with SO2. Further applications of this big data compilation also include identifying molecules with strong absorption features that are likely detectable at quite low abundances, and training set for machine learning predictions of vibrational frequencies. Characterising exoplanetary atmospheres through molecular spectroscopy is essential to understand the planet's physico-chemical processes and likelihood of hosting life. Our rapidly generated quantum chemistry big data set will play a crucial role in supporting this understanding by giving directions into possible initial identifications of the more unusual molecules to emerge.

Despite the popularity of scaled harmonic frequency calculations in chemistry, sparse benchmarking is available to guide users on appropriate level of theory and basis set choices (model chemistry). Here, we assess the performance of over 600 model chemistries in scaled harmonic frequencies calculations evaluating different scaling factors types. We can summarise our results into three main findings: (1) using model chemistry-specific scaling factors optimised for three different frequency regions (low (below 1,000cm-1), mid (1,000-2,000cm-1), and high (above 2,000cm-1)) results in better agreement between the scaled harmonic and experimental frequencies compared to other choices; (2) larger basis sets and more robust levels of theory generally lead to superior performance; however, the particular model chemistry choice matters; and (3) outliers should be expected in routine calculations. In terms of specific recommendations, overall, the highest accuracy model chemistries are double-hybrid functionals with non-Pople augmented triple-zeta basis sets, which can produce median frequency errors of down to 7.6cm-1 (DSD-PBEP86/def2-TZVPD) lying close to the error in the harmonic approximation. Double-zeta basis sets should not be used with double-hybrid functionals as there is no improvement compared to hybrid functionals. Note that the 6-311G* and 6-311+G* bases perform like double-zeta basis sets for vibrational frequencies. After scaling, all studied hybrid functionals with non-Pople triple-zeta basis sets will produce median errors of less than 15cm-1, with the best result of 9.9cm-1 with B97-1/def2-TZVPD. Appropriate matching of double-zeta basis sets with hybrid functionals can produce high quality results. The B97-1, TPSS0-D3(BJ) or wB97X-D hybrid functionals with 6-31G*, pc-1 or pcseg-1 are recommended for fast routine calculations, all delivering median errors of 11-12cm-1.

Allergic rhinitis and asthma are common diseases that frequently coexist, referred to as unified airway disease. There is currently no validated scale in Spanish, which allows simultaneous evaluation of both conditions. A translation from Portuguese to Spanish was therefore performed. It was administered to 120 patients aged between 18 and 70 years whose native language was Spanish and presented a diagnosis of allergic rhinitis and asthma. The reliability, validity and sensitivity to instrument change validations were carried out, as well as the values of minimally relevant clinical differences. Background Performance of soccer players requires accurate data, results and conclusions. Training programs to evaluate, train and improve the decision-making (DM) of soccer players must meet high quality standards, as well as follow the parameters established in randomized controlled trials that guarantee quality and methodological rigor of this type of research. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out this systematic review to better the evidence base underlying our research question. Objective This systematic review aims to identify, appraise, and synthesize findings from all the empirical evidence of the benefits and harms of DM training programs in soccer players. Methods This systematic review protocol was reported following the PRISMA-P Statement. We will search MEDLINE (via Ovid), Embase (via Elsevier), EBSCO (via SPORTDiscus), CINAHL (via Ebsco), clinical trial registries (via Clinicaltrials), and grey literature (via scholar google) to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in soccer players of all competitive levels. Major outcomes will be decision-making and executive functions. Pairs of reviewers will independently screen the systematic reviews for inclusion, extract data, and appraise the methodological quality. The GRADE approach will be used to evaluate the quality of the evidence. Discussion This systematic review will identify, appraise, and synthesize findings from all the empirical evidence of the benefits and harms of DM training programs. Besides, it will be developed by experts in systematic reviews, neurosciences, sports training and statistical analysis, which greatly favors the research and marks a very important starting point for future field research in the area of DM in soccer players. By taking into account players of all competitive levels and all ages, it is expected that the impact of this systematic review will be high, leading decision makers at different levels (local, national and international) to implement improvements in each of the sporting processes. La presente investigación cualitativa pretende comprender cómo el liderazgo compartido de la dirección de un centro escolar influye en los procesos de cambio y mejora en el aprendizaje. A través de un estudio de caso, se persigue identificar y comprender los procesos de transformación escolar necesarios para que se genere el cambio y la innovación educativa, explorando las estrategias que impulsan los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje, el trabajo del profesorado, la organización y las metodologías implementadas en las aulas. La dirección del centro apuesta por un liderazgo compartido que focaliza la acción en el aprendizaje y la transformación escolar. Los principales resultados ponen de manifiesto cómo la dirección del centro escolar lidera y dinamiza el trabajo en equipo del profesorado, posibilitando que se produzca un cambio educativo sistémico con la participación e implicación de toda la comunidad educativa. Las aportaciones de los participantes, las observaciones realizadas y la documentación analizada han puesto de manifiesto como se desarrolla el liderazgo compartido de la dirección y cuáles son las claves esenciales para promover la innovación educativa y un nuevo enfoque del aprendizaje. En primer lugar, los resultados muestran la influencia de los planteamientos educativos y convicciones de la persona que dirige el centro escolar sobre los objetivos que quiere conseguir a largo plazo y sobre las finalidades educativas que sustentan el proyecto. Un segundo aspecto de la investigación es la importancia de la formación del profesorado para dinamizar los procesos de transformación e innovación educativa. El trabajo en equipo es la tercera clave implícita en el liderazgo compartido de la dirección del colegio. Se lidera en la medida que se organiza para implementar un proyecto común, se coordinan bien todas las acciones y actividades del colegio y se posibilita la implicación y participación de todo el profesorado.

Capturing requirements in machine learning projects is a challenging task. It requires domain knowledge as well as experience in the machine learning field. The i* framework is a popular high abstraction-layer requirements capturing tool. However, the use of i* directly in the machine learning field (ML) is unfeasible due to it cannot capture all the restrictions and relationships of ML elements. In previous works we have extended i* to better capture machine learning requirements. In this paper, we apply the i* for machine learning extension to a real machine learning case study, in the context of a project focused on the diagnosis and treatment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The results show that the use of the i* for machine learning extension provides insights about the correct path to follow, aiding in the definition and selection of machine learning solutions that better fulfill the project requirements. Moreover, it facilitates faster development of the machine learning solution in a more structured way, avoiding errors and making the application of i* an effective tool for managing machine learning requirements.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the key drivers for the next decade. As important decisions are increasingly supported or directly made by AI systems, concerns regarding the rationale and fairness in their outputs are becoming more and more prominent nowadays. Following the recent interest in fairer predictions, several metrics for measuring fairness have been proposed, leading to different objectives which may need to be addressed in different fashion. In this paper, we propose (i) a methodology for analyzing and improving fairness in AI predictions by selecting sensitive attributes that should be protected; (ii) We analyze how the most common rebalance approaches affect the fairness of AI predictions and how they compare to the alternatives of removing or creating separate classifiers for each group within a protected attribute. Finally, (iii) our methodology generates a set of tables that can be easily computed for choosing the best alternative in each particular case. The main advantage of our methodology is that it allows AI practitioners to measure and improve fairness in AI algorithms in a systematic way. In order to check our proposal, we have properly applied it to the COMPAS dataset, which has been widely demonstrated to be biased by several previous studies. Lo que antes hacían un periódico, una televisión y una radio lo hacen ahora también una multitud de canales nuevos: Twitch, YouTube, las páginas web, Spotify, Amazon, Ivoox... En el caso de la radio tradicional, la novedad ha llegado con el formato podcast, el cuál permite escuchar un programa que se ha emitido en antena a la hora que quieras, es decir, a la carta; pero que también ha provocado que se produzcan programas exclusivamente en podcast, lo que significa que no pasan en ningún momento por la antena. Se graban, se editan y se suben a la página web o aplicación correspondiente. En un principio, este formato nació pensado para las nuevas plataformas ya mencionadas anteriormente, ya que las emisoras tradicionales como COPE, SER u Onda Cero ya tienen su parrilla en la Frecuencia Modulada emitiendo las 24 horas del día en directo. No obstante, estas empresas ya ubican sus programas en sus páginas web y aplicaciones para que se puedan escuchar a la carta, y además, crean contenido exclusivo para esos mismos lugares con el objetivo de no quedarse atrás en la competencia con las nuevas plataformas. [ES] La Sociedad Española de Neumología y Cirugía Torácica (SEPAR) ha elaborado este documento de recomendaciones sobre la vacuna para la COVID-19 en las enfermedades respiratorias, con el objetivo de ayudar al personal sanitario en la toma de decisiones sobre cómo actuar en la vacunación de estos pacientes. Las recomendaciones han sido elaboradas por un grupo de expertos en la materia, tras la revisión de la literatura recopilada hasta el 7 de marzo del 2021, y de la información aportada por distintas sociedades científicas, agencias del medicamento y estrategias de organismos gubernamentales hasta esa fecha. The recommendations have been developed by a group of experts in this field after reviewing the materials published up to March 7, 2021, the information provided by different scientific societies, drug agencies and the strategies of the governmental bodies up to this date. We can conclude that COVID-19 vaccines are not only safe and effective, but also prior in vulnerable patients with chronic respiratory diseases. In addition, an active involvement of healthcare professionals, who manage these diseases, in the vaccination strategy is the key to achieve good adherence and high vaccination coverage.

[EN] Space influences our cognitive-emotional state. In teaching spaces, with a considerable effect on performance. Many design variables are involved. Among them, geometry has been traditionally less explored despite its usual prominence in design, due to the complexity of its modification in existing physical classrooms. However, today this can be addressed through the use of virtual reality. This was the objective of the present study: to contribute to the study of the cognitive effect of different geometry parameters applied in a university classroom. It was tackled through a laboratory field study carried out with 80 university students. The geometry variable was studied through two parameters: ceiling height (3 settings) and width (3 settings) of the university classroom. The 9 combinations were implemented in a virtual reality. The cognitive effect was explored through memory and attention performances. Both of them, quantified through auditory psychological tasks: the former, using a list of words to memorize; and the latter, using a computer program to measure reaction times and errors. Analyses indicate that memory and attention can be affected by some of the geometry parameters. Esta propuesta presenta Test-Bot, un prototipo diseñado para evaluar pruebas objetivas en tiempo real. Ha sido entrenado con un corpus formado por preguntas y respuestas extraídas de diferentes pruebas realizadas en años anteriores en la asignatura Sistemas y Tecnología de la Información, impartida en la carrera de Ingeniería Informática. Se han diseñado los diferentes flujos de conversación, que se han adaptado de acuerdo con las respuestas dadas por los usuarios; Cuando las respuestas son incorrectas, el sistema refuerza los contenidos al proporcionar preguntas adicionales; Las frases de capacitación se han extraído y clasificado de acuerdo con el tipo de contenido de las preguntas y, finalmente, se han identificado los intentos.

[SPA] Con el fin de comparar la expresión génica de un melón cerca de la línea isogénica (NIL) SC10-2 y su parental Piel de Sapo (PS) durante la maduración y para comprender los mecanismos de diferenciación, se realizó una secuenciación transcriptoma. Dos genes de CmGGP (GDP-L-galactosa fosforilasa 1) y CmRAP2-11 (factor de transcripción sensible al etileno RAP2-11) mostraron menor expresión relativa en la NIL SC10 -2 versus PS debido a la introgresión en LG X. Sin embargo, no existieron diferencias en expresión de CmAP2-like X1 (factor de transcripción sensible al etileno, similar a AP2 TOE3 isoforma X1). En consecuencia, la expresión de genes que mapearon en el grupo de ligamiento X como un factor de transcripción de respuesta a etileno o del metabolismo del ácido ascórbico estuvieron probablemente asociados con el retraso de maduración. [ENG] The expression of selected genes during ripening was studied considering a melon Near-isogenic Line (NIL) SC10-2 and its parental “Piel de Sapo” (PS). The expression of CmGGP (GDP-L-galactose phosphorylase 1), CmAP2-like X1 (AP2-like ethylene-responsive transcription factor TOE3 isoform X1) and CmRAP2-11 (ethylene-responsive transcription factor RAP2-11) were differentially expressed in the NIL SC10-2 compared with PS. Consequently, expression of genes that mapped in LG X such as one ethylene response transcription factors or ascorbic acid metabolism gene were probably associated with delayed ripening. I used the metacommunity framework to dissect the relative influences of dispersal (in ecological and evolutionary timeframes), selection (driven by abiotic factors) and ecological drift on the assembly process of freshwater benthic communities. The study was carried out at 26-32 different stream segments within an area of about 40,000km2, in the Colombian Orinoco. The area encompasses an elevation gradient from 3400 to 300m a.s.l. and includes a heterogeneous assembly of ecoregions and landscapes. By using a pattern-matching approach, I provide evidences supporting that dispersal, selection and drift are directly involved in the assembly of freshwater benthic communities. My findings indicate that one or more events of dispersal limitation (i.e. allopatric isolation) in an evolutionary timeframe shaped distinct pools of taxa in the Orinoco basin. The extent of these pools partially matches the distribution of the ecoregions, suggesting that those events molding the riverscapes and the vegetation structure similarly affect the diversity and distribution of benthic species. These findings have implications for both basic and applied research in the disciplines of metacommunity and freshwater ecology as well as of conservation and biogeography En esta tesis, utilizo el marco conceptual de las metacomunidades para caracterizar los posibles efectos que tienen los procesos de dispersión (en tiempos ecológicos y evolutivos), selección (impulsada por factores abióticos) y deriva ecológica en la diversidad y distribución de las comunidades bentónicas fluviales. La zona de estudio, de un área de aproximadamente 40,000 km2, abarcó entre 26 y 32 segmentos de ríos prístinos del Orinoco colombiano. Los puntos de muestreo abarcaron un gradiente de elevación de 300 a 3400 m.s.n.m. que incluyó un conjunto heterogéneo de ecorregiones y paisajes. Mediante una aproximación de ligar patrones y posibles mecanismos, esta tesis proporciona evidencias de que la dispersión, la selección y la deriva están directamente involucradas en el proceso de ensamblaje de las comunidades bentónicas fluviales. Mis hallazgos indican que uno o más eventos de limitación de la dispersión en un marco de tiempo evolutivo (eventos de aislamiento alopátrico) formaron diferentes pools de especies dentro de la cuenca del Orinoco. La extensión de estos pools coincide parcialmente con la distribución de las ecorregiones, lo que sugiere que los eventos que moldearon los paisajes fluviales y la estructura de la vegetación afectaron de manera similar la diversidad y distribución de las especies bentónicas en ecosistemas fluviales. El trabajo presentado como fin de grado es un brazo articulado con tres grados de libertad y un efector final fijo en el que se le ha encomendado la tarea de escribir. El movimiento es aplicado por tres motores paso a paso -Nema17- que controlados mediante el microprocesador de Arduino Mega y sus respectivos drivers pondremos en funcionamiento. Estarán limitados en movimiento por sensores fin de carrera. En este proyecto se ha considerado que la estructura del brazo será en madera MDF de tres milímetros de grosor cuyo previo diseño se ha realizado en un software gráfico como es CorelDraw. Para los mecanismos se ha usado metacrilato de tres milímetros para los engranajes y de cinco milímetros para los piñones ya que son piezas que estarán en movimiento y la fricción será alta. El proyecto que se presenta, consiste en la construcción y programacón de un brazo robótico en madera para su uso didáctico dirigidos a alumnos de ingeniería o aquellos que sientan curiosidad por este proyecto, ya que uno de los objetivos es hacerlo accesible a todos, de fácil comprensión ante estos nuevos conocimientos. Lo primero que haremos será explicar el modelo usado para el robot y su construcción, las piezas usadas, la electrónica y los materiales, así como las medidas aproximadas de cada una de ellas, ya que serán esenciales en la programación. Motion is due to 3 stepper motors -Nema17- controlled by a microprocessor from Arduino Mega and drivers respectively. Also, we will use 3 endstop sensors to limit the movement. In this project it has been considered that the structure of the arm will be in wood three millimeters thick, designed in a graphic software named CorelDraw. For the gears we will use methacrylate of three and five millimeters because of the high friction. The project is based on the construction and programming of a robotic arm in wood for teaching uses leaded to engineering students or those who are curious about this project, since one of the objectives is to make it accessible to everyone, easily comprenhension. First at all, we will explain the model used for the robot and its construction, the parts used, the electronics and the materials. [EN] Mounting evidence indicates that the colour hue of classroom walls influences student performance. However, the effect of this design parameter has not hitherto been simultaneously assessed for two key cognitive learning functions of attention and memory. The objective of the present study is to analyse the impact that warm and cold hue coloured classroom walls have on the cognitive attention and memory functions of university students. To this end, the attention and memory performance of 160 participants was evaluated in 12 warm and 12 cold hue colour settings in a virtual classroom. Their performance was quantified through psychological (attention and memory tasks) and neurophysiological (heart rate variability and electroencephalogram) metrics related to the cognitive functions analysed. The results showed that cold hue colours increase arousal and improve performance in attention and memory tasks; and design guidelines can be established. Furthermore, correlations were observed between the psychological and neurophysiological metrics, which represents an important advance in the neuroarchitecture discipline. Bio-signals as evaluation methods have been increasingly used for design and architectural research over the last few years. Understanding how environmental factors influence people’s emotions by using psychophysiological tools represents an opportunity to improve design processes. As a part of an extensive exploration toward emotional maps, EDA signals were used. This preliminary work presents a study in which 12 participants explored an Immersive Virtual Environment (IVE) using a Head- Mounted Display while their sympathetic reaction was being registered. The response to the IVE (3 rooms designed to evoke neutrality, stress and calm states) was measured using both phasic electrodermal activity data gathered during IVE’s exploration and psychometric response collected by post-questionnaire. Results show that the IVE evoked the expected emotional states to be measured, EDA-phasic was an appropriate tool to measure emotional states and the “emotional map” created by superimposing an emotional heatmap on the architectural layout confirms that it is possible to represent emotional states altered by spaces graphically.

Tradicionalmente, la comunicación entre alumnos y profesores se ha basado en la comunicación presencial y tutoriales virtuales, dicha comunicación, en general, se retrasa en el tiempo. Recientemente, los agentes conversacionales, en forma de chatbots, se han convertido en una realidad en las redes sociales y aplicaciones de mensajería, gracias a los avances en inteligencia artificial. Con respecto a la aplicación de las TIC en un contexto educativo, y el caso particular de UACloud en la Universidad de Alicante, la aplicación de chatbots en la enseñanza facilitaría el trabajo de los profesores y proporcionando respuestas inmediatas a los alumnos. El prototipo del chatbot presentado en esta red ha sido entrenado a través de un conjunto de tutoriales facilitados por distintos profesores. Se ha realizado un análisis de las tutorías y se han diseñado distintos flujos de conversación. Las frases de entrenamiento han sido extraídas y clasificadas según el tipo de tutoría. Y finalmente, se han establecido las diferentes intenciones. El análisis del texto de las tutorías muestra que en un alto porcentaje se repiten las mismas preguntas, por diferentes alumnos. Finalmente, discutimos el potencial de los chatbots en un contexto educativo, identificando necesidades y líneas futuras de trabajo.

The last decade has witnessed an increasing transformation in the design, engineering, and mining of processes, moving from a pure control-flow perspective to more integrated models where also data and decisions are explicitly considered. This calls for methods and techniques able to ascertain the correctness of such integrated models. Differently from previous approaches, which mainly focused on the local interplay between decisions and their corresponding outgoing branches, we introduce a holistic approach to verify the end-to-end soundness of a Petri net-based process model, enriched with case data and decisions. In addition, we present an effective, implemented technique that verifies soundness by translating the input net into a colored Petri net with bounded color sets, on which standard state space analysis techniques are subsequently applied. Experiments on real life illustrate the relevance and applicability in real settings.

[SPA] Se realizó una secuenciación de transcriptoma para analizar los genes implicados en la formación de aromas expresados durante la maduración y para comprender los mecanismos moleculares que diferencian una línea casi isogénica (NIL) SC10-2 de melón y su parental Piel de Sapo (PS). El gen CmLOX18 (similar a la lipoxigenasa 4) se expresó diferencialmente comparando la NIL SC10-2 y PS y se asoció a la producción de hexanal, un compuesto diana e indicador del proceso de maduración no climatérica. La expresión del gen de la CmACO1 (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase 1) implicado en la biosíntesis de etileno no manifestó diferencias durante la maduración. La introgresión en LG X estuvo asociada a la diferente producción de hexanal entre la NIL y PS. Se propone un eQTL en el LG X que controla la producción de aromas del gen CmLOX18 localizado en LG I. [ENG] Transcriptome sequencing was performed in order to analyze the genes associated to volatile synthesis expressed during ripening and to understand the molecular mechanisms that differentiate a melon Near-isogenic Line (NIL) SC10-2 and its parental Piel de Sapo (PS). CmLOX18 gene (Similar to Lipoxygenase 18) was differentially expressed in the NIL SC10-2 compared with PS associated with the aroma volatile compound hexanal as a target compound of the non-climacteric ripening. The expression of CmACO1 (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase 1) gene associated with ethylene biosynthesis did not change during ripening. The introgression in LG X was associated with the differential hexanal production of the NIL and PS. An eQTL located in LG X is probably controlling the production of aroma volatiles due to CmLOX18 in LG I. [SPA] La calidad en los melones (Cucumis melo L.) es un criterio importante para la aceptación del consumidor. Al igual que en cualquier otra fruta, el proceso de desarrollo y maduración involucra una serie de cambios bioquímicos y fisiológicos como la descomposición de la clorofila, la degradación de la pared celular (que resulta desde ablandamiento a cambios en la ultraestructura de la pulpa y del fruto entero), el aumento en el contenido de azúcares y el contenido de sólidos solubles (SSC), la biosíntesis de pigmentos, aromas y la generación de sabor, etc. El objetivo de la tesis doctoral será determinar la calidad global y perfil aromático de al menos una línea casi isogénica (NIL) de melón con diferencias en textura respecto a su parental no climatéricos (PS) para mapear QTLs asociados a la calidad especialmente aromática y textural de la fruta. Utilizando resultados de expresión génica diferencial PS-NIL y el mapa genético de melón y las secuencias previamente almacenada en el GenBank estaremos posicionando genes candidatos y relacionando esta información con el fenotipo. Like any other fruit, melons development and ripening process are linked to a series of biochemical and physiological changes including chlorophyll breakdown, cell wall degradation (leading from flesh to whole fruit softening to changes in ultrastructure), increase in the sugar content and soluble solids content (SSC), pigment biosynthesis, aroma and flavour generation, etc. The goal of the PhD will be to determine global quality and aroma profile at least one near-isogenic lines (NILs) of melon with different texture than its non-climacteric parental PS in order to map QTLs associated with fruit quality and particularly aroma volatiles. Using some results of differential gene expression and the genetic map of melon and the sequences stored in GenBank some candidate genes will be suggested and linking genetic and phenotypic information. El Máster Universitario en Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad de Alicante está regulado según las recomendaciones establecidas para la ordenación de las enseñanzas de Máster en el ámbito de la Ingeniería Informática, ofreciendo una formación avanzada en las tecnologías de la informática que capacita para la elaboración, planificación, dirección y coordinación de proyectos, así como su gestión técnica y económica en todos los ámbitos de la ingeniería informática, siguiendo criterios de calidad y medioambientales. El propósito principal de este trabajo de investigación docente es el seguimiento y coordinación de la docencia semipresencial en las asignaturas del Máster Universitario en Ingeniería Informática, tanto en la metodología docente como en los materiales y la carga de trabajo para el alumnado. Puesto que la implantación de la semipresencialidad es novedosa en este curso, es especialmente importante la coordinación entre todas las asignaturas y el seguimiento del desarrollo académico para detectar y solventar los posibles problemas que puedan aparecer y establecer un plan de mejoras que permita la mejora continua de la titulación. Para ello, se han realizado reuniones de coordinación de todos los responsables de asignaturas del Máster y reuniones con el alumnado para comprobar el progreso académico a lo largo del curso.

En este artículo se describe el trabajo realizado por la red de investigación en docencia universitaria denominada “Docencia semipresencial en el Máster en Ingeniería Informática” y que ha pretendido trabajar en las diferentes asignaturas del Máster en Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad de Alicante con el fin de dotarlas de un carácter semipresencial de una forma coordinada e integrada. Se ha creado un grupo de trabajo dentro de la comisión académica del máster y se ha impulsado una colaboración estrecha entre los responsables de todas las asignaturas del Máster en Ingeniería Informática a la hora de usar todos los mecanismos necesarios para dotar a las respectivas asignaturas del carácter semipresencial. Ha sido muy importante el apoyo que se ha tenido del ICE en este sentido, por ejemplo mediante la solicitud y realización de un curso específico sobre bLearning.

[SPA] El melón (Cucumis melo L.), planta modelo para la caracterización genómica y estudios de calidad. Empleada para realizar el cruzamiento de los dos cultivares de melón no climatéricos “Piel de Sapo” (PS) con el cultivar coreano “Shongwan Charmi-PI 161375”, obteniendo una población de líneas casi isogénicas (NILs), de la cual hace parte la NIL climatérica SC3-5-1 con introgresión en el grupo del ligamento III y VI empleada para estudiar la calidad a nivel de aromas, mediante la técnica de microextracción en fase sólida de espacio de cabeza (HP-SPME) acoplado al cromatógrafo de gases masas. Los grupos de aromas de tipo éster y azufrados obtenidos en la NIL en la recolección presentaron una mayor concentración total comparada con el parental PS, en las dos campañas evaluadas. Contrarío al parental PS que presento en la primera campaña mayor concentración en el grupo de aldehídos. Las diferencias en grupos de compuestos aromáticos observadas se asociaron al genotipo y en menor medida a las diferentes condiciones ambientales del cultivo en cada una de las campañas. Two melon cultivars were used for breeding of cultivars of non-climacteric melon ‘Piel de Sapo’ (PS) with Korean cultivar ‘Shongwan Charmi-PI 161375’ obtaining a population of nearly isogenic line (NILs), which is part of the NIL climacteric SC3-5-1 with introgressions linkage groups III and VI. In this study, the quality characteristics of the aroma volatiles were identified using headspace solid phase microextraction (HP-SPME) coupled Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The groups of esters and sulfurs type volatiles obtained for NIL SC3-5-1 shown a higher total concentration as compared with the parental PS in the two seasons evaluated while for PS presented higher concentration values of aldehydes. Guidelines are offered in order to build connections between the Good Living and Social Education. El melón (Cucumis melo L.), se ha convertido en un sistema modelo debido a que presenta cultivares con comportamiento fisiológico climatérico o no climatérico, lo que lo hace ideal para estudios genéticos relacionados con calidad de fruto. Este trabajo busca encontrar los aromas diferenciales de un parental no climatérico tipo “Piel de sapo” –PS‐ y la línea casi isogénica climatérica SC3‐5‐1, así como su agrupamiento en clústers mediante un análisis jerárquico. El método de cromatografía de gases‐masas tras micro‐extracción de la fase sólida en espacio de cabeza identificó en zumo de melón un total de 129 y 111 compuestos volátiles individuales en dos campañas sucesivas, la mayoría de ellos ésteres acetato o no acetato, aldehídos, alcoholes, y derivados azufrados Un total de 56 compuestos volátiles individuales diferenciaron a la línea casi isogénica SC3‐5‐1 de su parental ‘Piel de Sapo’. Tras el análisis jerárquico de los aromas se localizaron un total de 5 y 4 clústers para la primera y segunda campaña, respectivamente, con una agrupación jerárquica asociada a la correlación que presentan los compuestos característicos y diferenciadores de SC3‐5‐1 y el parental PS para cada año, que parecen ser éster acetato o no acetato derivados de distintos amino ácidos y ésteres azufrados con metionina de precursor (predominantes en la línea climatérica) y aldehídos simples C7 ‐C9 y otros (para la no climatérica). Traditionally, in most digital library environments, the discovery of resources takes place mostly through the harvesting and indexing of the metadata content. Such search and retrieval services provide very effective ways for persons to find items of interest but lacks the ability to lead users looking for potential related resources or to make more complex queries. In contrast, modern web information management techniques related to Semantic Web, a new form of the Web, encourages institutions, including libraries, to collect, link and share their data across the web in order to ease its processing by machines and humans offering better queries and results increasing the visibility and interoperability of the data. Linked Data technologies enable connecting related data across the Web using the principles and recommendations set out by Tim Berners-Lee in 2006, resulting on the use of URIs (Uniform Resource Identifier) as identifiers for objects, and the use of RDF (Resource Description Framework) for links representation. Today, libraries are giving increasing importance to the Semantic Web in a variety of ways like creating metadata models and publishing Linked Data from authority files, bibliographic catalogs, digital projects information or crowdsourced information from another projects like Wikipedia. This paper reports a process for publishing library metadata on the Web using Linked Data technologies. The proposed process was applied for extracting metadata from a university library, representing them in RDF format and publishing them using a Sparql endpoint (an interface to a knowledge database). The library metadata from a subject were linked to external sources such us another libraries and then related to the bibliography from syllabus of the courses in order to discover missing subjects and new or out of date bibliography. In this process, the use of open standards facilitates the exploitation of knowledge from libraries. Data Warehouses (DW) manage enterprise information that is queried for decision making purposes by using On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools. The establishment of security constraints in all development stages and operations of the DW is highly important since otherwise, unauthorized users may discover vital business information. The final users of OLAP tools access and analyze the information from the corporate DW by using specific views or cubes based on the multidimensional modelling containing the facts and dimensions (with the corresponding classification hierarchies) that a decision maker or group of decision makers are interested in. Thus, it is important that security constraints will be also established over this metadata layer that connects the DW's repository with the decision makers, that is, directly over the multidimensional structures that final users manage. In doing so, we will not have to define specific security constraints for every particular user, thereby reducing the developing time and costs for secure OLAP applications. In order to achieve this goal, a model driven architecture to automatically develop secure OLAP applications from models has been defined. This paper shows the benefits of this architecture by applying it to a case study in which an OLAP application for an airport DW is automatically developed from models. The architecture is composed of: (1) the secure conceptual modelling by using a UML profile; (2) the secure logical modelling for OLAP applications by using an extension of CWM; (3) the secure implementation into a specific OLAP tool, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS); and (4) the transformations needed to automatically generate logical models from conceptual models and the final secure implementation. Los planes de entrenamiento deportivo son de vital importancia para organizar y planificar la correcta preparación de un deportista. Variados sistemas que informatizan los planes de entrenamiento para disciplinas deportivas específicas han sido propuestos. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de sistemas para el entrenamiento de las disciplinas deportivas en general ha recibido insuficiente atención por parte de los desarrolladores de software. Las propuestas existentes se centran en un deporte o en varios muy afines. Para conseguir un producto software que sirva para una gran variedad de disciplinas deportivas es necesario la aplicación de técnicas de Ingeniería del Software. Por regla general la Ingeniería de Software dispone de variadas metodologías de desarrollo, aunque para el modelado utiliza el estándar Unified Modeling Language (UML). Sin embargo, UML no se ajusta con facilidad a dominios específicos en los que se requiere mayor nivel de formalidad y de semántica. Esta investigación propone un metamodelo que utiliza los mecanismos propios de extensión de UML a través del perfil para el modelado conceptual de los planes de entrenamiento deportivo. El perfil ofrece nuevos estereotipos, tipos de datos, valores etiquetados y restricciones que permiten modelar de manera exacta e inequívoca los planes de entrenamiento deportivo. Además, se presenta un prototipo desarrollado como prueba de conceptos que utiliza el perfil UML definido, cuyo propósito es la gestión y planificación del entrenamiento deportivo para las especialidades del atletismo de pista. Para el análisis, diseño e implementación del prototipo se utiliza Rational Unified Process como metodología de desarrollo de software. The sports training plans are of vital importance to organize and set the correct preparation for an athlete. Different systems that computerizing the training plans for specific or close sports disciplines have been proposed. However, the development of systems for the training of sports disciplines in general has not received enough attention from software developers. The existent proposals focus on one or very few close sports. To achieve a software product that can be used in a variety of sports disciplines it is necessary the use of software engineering techniques. The general rule of Software Engineering provides different development methodologies, even when for the modeling it uses the Unified Modeling Language standard. However, UML does not adjust easily to specific domains in which a greater level of formality and semantics are required. This research provides a UML profile that uses it is own extension mechanisms for the conceptual modeling of the sports training plans. The profile offers new stereotypes, data types, tagged values and restrictions that allow us to model in a very unique and exact manner the sports training plans. It also presents a prototype developed as a proof of concept that uses the defined UML model; whose purpose is the planning and management of sports training for the track and field divisions. For the analysis, design and implementation of the prototype, RUP (Rational Unified Process) has been used as a software development methodology.

During the last seven years, the fruit quality differences based on a collection of near-isogenic lines (NILs) of melon (Cucumis melo L.) obtained from a cross between the Spanish cultivar “Piel de Sapo” (PS) (Figure 1) and the exotic Korean accession “Shongwan Charmi” [SC (PI 161375)] (Figure 2) have been studied to identify the quantitative trait loci (QTL) related to the most important fruit quality traits for the consumer.

La complejidad del proceso de desarrollo de los Almacenes de Datos (AD) requiere una aproximación sistemática para tener éxito. Una aproximación ampliamente aceptada es la híbrida, en la que requisitos y fuentes de datos han de ser acomodados en un modelo híbrido. El inconveniente de esta aproximación es que se pierden las relaciones entre requisitos, elementos conceptuales y fuentes de datos, al no incluir trazabilidad explícita en el proceso. Debido a ello, la validación de requisitos se ve mermada y aumenta la complejidad de los procesos de Extracción, Transformación y Carga. En este artículo, proponemos un metamodelo de trazas para ADs y detallamos las relaciones entre los requisitos y los elementos conceptuales. Además, mostramos la implementación de reglas Query/View/Transformation para automatizar la generación de trazas, evitando así su elaboración manual. An important effect on the fatigue loading of wind turbines in wind farms is the dynamic change of full and partial wake inflow. A simulation approach of the so-called wind turbine wake meandering based on a Lagrangian model is proposed. This enables the generation of time series of the large scale wake movement at selected down- stream stations. Simulations of the wake meandering of a 5MW wind turbine are compared with measurements of the meandering in the near wake. The measurements are performed with a lidar installed at the nacelle and are analyzed with specific techniques developed for the measurement of large scale wake dynamics.

A lo largo de los últimos años se ha detectado un problema en el aprendizaje de las asignaturas, “Diseño de Bases de Datos” y “Análisis de Sistemas de Información”, por parte de los estudiantes. Los profesores que forman la Red docente BDeIS coinciden en señalar que los alumnos no adquieren la suficiente destreza para analizar y diseñar sistemas de información. Por el contrario, los alumnos se limitan a intentar automatizar de resolución de problemas, automatización que en la mayoría de los casos les supone un fracaso cuando se enfrentan a casos reales. Dada esta problemática, el objetivo de la Red docente BDeIS ha consistido en tratar de mejorar el aprendizaje del Diseño de Bases de Datos y el Análisis de Sistemas de Información a través de la motivación, tutoría y participación activa de los estudiantes [1,2,3,4]. Para ello, la red ha desarrollado diversas actividades, que son descritas a continuación. En primer lugar, se muestran el marco teórico y la metodología propuesta: una metodología activa de aprendizaje motivado. En segundo lugar, se muestran las principales discusiones en el seno de la Red así como los principales resultados y conclusiones extraídos a lo largo del trabajo desarrollado. Por último, se presentan algunos datos relevantes sobre las actividades realizadas.

A data warehouse (DW) is a complex information system primarily used in the decision making process by means of On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) applications. Although various methods and approaches have been presented for designing different parts of DWs, such as the conceptual and logical schemas or the Extraction-Transformation-Loading (ETL) processes, no general and standard method exists to date for dealing with the whole design of a DW. In this paper, we fill this gap by presenting a method based on the Unified Modeling Language (UML) that allows the user to tackle all DW design phases and steps, from the operational data sources to the final implementation and including the definition of the ETL processes. The main advantages of our proposal are: the use of a standard modeling notation (UML) in the models accomplished in the different design phases, the integration of different design phases in a single and coherent framework and the use of a grouping mechanism (UML packages) that allows the designer to layer the models according to different levels of detail. Finally, we also provide a set of steps that guide the DW design. Graphical conceptual models for On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) applications should semi-automatically generate the database schema and the corresponding multidimensional (MD) model for a specific target commercial OLAP tool. However, this generation process is not immediate as the semantics represented by these conceptual models are different from those considered by the underlying MD models of OLAP tools. Therefore, some transformations for these differences are needed in this process. In the context of graphical conceptual models, we provide an object-oriented conceptual model that provides a Unified Modeling Language (UML) graphical notation to represent both structural and dynamics properties of MD models and initial user requirements at the conceptual level. In this paper, on one hand, we present how to semi-automatically generate the database schema and the underlying MD model for one of the most leading commercial OLAP tools from our model. In this process, some semantics represented in the model are transformed into those considered by the underlying MD model of the target OLAP tool. On the other hand, initial user requirements are translated into their corresponding definitions in the target OLAP tool. In this way, the final user is able to start the analysis process from the initial requirements specified at the conceptual level. Finally, we present the prototype of the Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tool that gives support to both the model definition and this generation process.
