The article is devoted to a study of the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. A review of the literature showed that, as a rule, studies of assessing the impact of a pandemic are limited to an analysis of statistical data for 2020 in comparison with 2019 and 2021, without taking into account the socio-economic trends that have developed in the territory. In order to analyze the scale of the problems and develop response measures to the consequences of the pandemic, it is extremely important to form a scientific tool for assessing them. The purpose of the article is to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on changing trends in the main indicators of the socio-economic development of the region. The hypothesis of the study is that the degree and duration of the impact of the pandemic on one or another indicator of development is not the same. The research methodology is based on tracking the prevailing trends in indicators before and during the pandemic, as well as on comparing the averages of individual indicators using the Student and Mann-Whitney criteria. In addition, an analysis was made of the presence of structural shifts for the entire analyzed period using the Chow test. The application of the proposed approach for the analyzed periods (before and during the pandemic) allows us to see the presence of heterogeneity or, conversely, homogeneity in the data for the analyzed indicators. The results of calculating their values give an idea of the degree of impact of the pandemic or its absence. The proposed approach was tested on the example of the Sverdlovsk region. The results showed that the impact of the pandemic turned out to be instantaneous, but the degree and duration of the impact for individual sectors of the economy and society are not the same. We have formed four trajectories of the Sverdlovsk region's indicators related to the pandemic: (1) deterioration of the situation without a subsequent recovery trend; (2) deterioration of the situation with subsequent stabilization; (3) temporary deterioration of the situation and the resumption of a positive trend; (4) no significant changes. The proposed approach has a high theoretical and methodological significance; its application will help to solve similar problems of trend research. The results obtained show areas that require additional support for the recovery of the economy and society. Статья посвящена исследованию социально-экономических последствий пандемии COVID-19. Обзор литературы показал, что, как правило, исследования оценки влияния пандемии сводятся к анализу статистических данных за 2020 г. в сравнении с 2019 г. и 2021 г. без учета сложившихся ранее социально-экономических тенденций на территории. Для анализа масштаба проблем и выработки мер реагирования на последствия пандемии крайне важно сформировать научный инструмент их оценки. Целью статьи является оценка влияния пандемии COVID‑19 на изменение трендов основных показателей социально-экономического развития региона. Гипотеза исследования – степень и продолжительность влияния пандемии на тот или иной показатель развития неодинаковы. Методика исследования основывается на отслеживании сложившихся трендов показателей до и во время пандемии, а также на сравнении средних отдельных показателей при помощи критериев Стьюдента и Манна – Уитни. Кроме того, проведен анализ наличия структурных сдвигов для всего анализируемого периода при помощи теста Чоу. Применение предложенного подхода для анализируемых периодов (до и во время пандемии) позволяет увидеть присутствие неоднородности или, наоборот, однородности в данных для анализируемых показателей. Результаты расчетов их значений дают представление о степени влияния пандемии либо об его отсутствии. Апробация предложенного подхода была проведена на примере Свердловской области. Результаты показали, что влияние пандемии оказалось мгновенным, но степень и продолжительность влияния для отдельных сфер экономики и общества неодинаковы. Мы сформировали четыре траектории показателей Свердловской области, связанные с пандемией: 1) ухудшение ситуации без последующего восстановительного тренда; 2) ухудшение ситуации с последующей стабилизацией; 3) временное ухудшение ситуации и возобновление положительного тренда; 4) без значимых изменений. Предложенный подход обладает высокой теоретико-методологической значимостью, его применение позволит решать аналогичные задачи исследования трендов. Полученные результаты показывают направления, которые требуют дополнительной поддержки для восстановления экономики и общества. Materials and methods: a prospective non-randomized pilot multicenter study of the informativeness and clinical significance of hemostasis laboratory tests in 1210 patients with COVID-19 in disease course, including favorable and unfavorable outcomes, was performed Hemostasis was assessed using clotting tests and D-dimer concentration, thromboelastography (TEG) and thrombodynamics (TD) Results: comparison of COVID-19 laboratory parameters and clinical picture showed that 75% of patients have pronounced activation of the plasma coagulation system upon admission to the hospital Hypercoagulation is recorded in all tests, reaching a maximum in patients with subtotal (CT-3) and total (CT-4) lung lesion and/or resuscitation patients with a clinical picture of pulmonary embolism and unfavorable outcome Low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) in a standard dosage leads to suppression of the initial hypercoagulable syndrome in more than half of the patients (from 75 to 31%) All patients without LMWH laboratory effect developed thrombotic complications For clotting tests, insufficient sensitivity to changes in hemostasis against the background of LMWH was revealed The D-dimer test effectively correlates with the severity and outcomes of COVID-19, but is not suitable for the control of heparin therapy, which is associated with the effect of lysis of existing blood clots and the lack of response to a decrease in the coagulation activity of patients Methods of thromboelastography and thrombodynamics effectively record a decrease in the activity of the coagulation system and can be used to control heparin therapy The correlation coefficient between the methods was 0,77 The dynamic indices of D-dimers, TEG and TD in severe patients and, especially, in patients with fatal outcomes revealed the greatest sensitivity to the control of heparin therapy in the Thrombodynamics test, which allows, along with thrombosis, to record hypercoagulable states and the risk of bleeding, which are the outcome of thrombohemorrhagic syndrome in patients with COVID-19 Материалы и методы исследования: проведено проспективное открытое нерандомизированное пилотное многоцентровое исследование информативности и клинической значимости лабораторных тестов гемостаза у 1210 пациентов с COVID-19 в динамике заболевания, включая благоприятные и неблагоприятные исходы Оценку гемостаза проводили с использованием клоттинговых тестов и концентрации D-димера, тромбоэластографии (ТЭГ) и тромбодинамики (ТД) Результаты: при сопоставлении лабораторных показателей и клинической картины COVID-19 показано, что у 75% больных при поступлении в стационар наблюдается выраженная активация плазменной системы свертывания Гиперкоагуляция фиксируется по всем тестам, достигая максимума у больных с субтотальным (КТ-3) и тотальным (КТ-4) поражением легких и/или реанимационных больных с клинической картиной тромбоэмболии легочной артерии и неблагоприятным исходом Назначение низкомолекулярных гепаринов (НМГ) в стандартной дозировке приводит к подавлению исходного гиперкоагуляционного синдрома более чем у половины больных (с 75 до 31%) Все пациенты без лабораторного эффекта НМГ развили тромботические осложнения Для клоттинговых тестов выявлена недостаточная чувствительность к изменениям гемостаза на фоне НМГ Тест на D-димер эффективно коррелирует с тяжестью и исходами COVID-19, но непригоден для контроля гепаринотерапии, что связано с эффектом лизиса существующих тромбов и отсутствием ответа на снижение коагуляционной активности больных Методы ТЭГ и ТД эффективно регистрируют снижение активности свертывающей системы и могут использоваться для контроля гепаринотерапии Коэффициент корреляции между методами составил 0,77 Заключение: динамические индексы D-димеров, ТЭГ и ТД у тяжелых больных и особенно у пациентов с летальными исходами выявили наибольшую чувствительность к контролю гепаринотерапии у теста ТД, что позволяет наряду с тромбозами фиксировать гиперкоагуляционные состояния и риск кровотечений - исходы тромбогеморрагического синдрома у больных с COVID-19

Experience-based knowledge has shown that bacteria can communicate with each other through a cell-density-dependent mechanism called quorum sensing (QS). QS controls specific bacterial phenotypes, such as sporulation, virulence and pathogenesis, the production of degrading enzymes, bioluminescence, swarming motility, and biofilm formation. The expression of these phenotypes in food spoiling and pathogenic bacteria, which may occur in food, can have dramatic consequences on food production, the economy, and health. Due to the many reports showing that the use of conventional methods (i.e., antibiotics and sanitizers) to inhibit bacterial growth leads to the emergence of antibiotic resistance, it is necessary to research and exploit new strategies. Several studies have already demonstrated positive results in this direction by inhibiting autoinducers (low-molecular-weight signaling compounds controlling QS) and by other means, leading to QS inhibition via a mechanism called quorum quenching (QQ). Thus far, several QS inhibitors (QSIs) have been isolated from various sources, such as plants, some animals from aqueous ecosystems, fungi, and bacteria. The present study aims to discuss the involvement of QS in food spoilage and to review the potential role of probiotics as QSIs.

The article raises the issue of validity of student evaluation of teaching at a university. We studied validity of fairness experience of students of the Faculty of General Medicine and other faculties of the Medical University. Based on the results of the study conducted in the Northern State Medical University, it has been have shown that teacher evaluation was not always biased and subjectively prejudiced.

© 2016 Ekaterina Vasilyeva et al.Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can be diagnosed at any age. There are two major patient groups based on diagnosis of this disease, before or after the age of 20 (juvenile/adolescent or adult), with disease progression in adults usually milder than in juvenile CD patients. Immune mechanisms have been suggested to play an important role in CD pathogenesis, with cytokines governing the development of the immune response. Upregulation of inflammatory cytokines in serum of juvenile and adult CD patients has been documented; still little is known about age-dependent differences in serum cytokine profiles of CD patients. We applied multiplex technology to analyze serum levels of 12 cytokines in juveniles and adults. We show that during the acute stage of the disease all CD patients have high serum levels of CXCL10, which remains upregulated during remission. Increased serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 during the acute stage was characteristic of juvenile CD patients, whereas adult CD patients had upregulated levels of GM-CSF and IFN-γ. Taken together, these results demonstrate age-dependent differences in cytokine profiles, which may affect the pathogenesis of CD in patients at different ages of disease onset.

The article has raised the question of the need to find an optimal model of the state examination of graduates of Russian medical schools. The experience of the national examination of graduates of medical faculties of France and the basic direction of the search of a new model have been presented. В статье поднимается вопрос о необходимости разработки оптимальной модели проведения государственного экзамена выпускников медицинских вузов в России. Представлен опыт проведения национального экзамена выпускников медицинских факультетов Франции и показаны основные направления поиска новой модели.

This paper analyzes the challenges of tailoring feedback to the student’s response certitude during the assessment in Web-based Learning systems (WBLSs). We present the summary of the results of a series of experiments related to the online assessment of students through multiple-choice quizzes, where students had to select the confidence level and were able to request different kinds of feedback for each of the answered questions.
