RIG‐I is associated with the occurrence and development of many tumors. However, the role of RIG‐I in radiotherapy and chemotherapy in NPC has not been reported to date. In our study, RIG‐I expression was significantly reduced in chemoradiotherapy‐resistant NPC tissues and cells compared with that in therapy‐sensitive tissues and cells. RIG‐I expression increased in nonresistant NPC cells, including CNE1 and CNE2, in a dose‐dependent manner with increasing chemotherapy drug concentration or radiotherapy dose. RIG‐I overexpression promoted radiotherapy and chemotherapy sensitivity in NPC cells, leading to cellular apoptosis and increased expression of the proapoptotic factors BAX and caspase‐3. Similarly, RIG‐I knockdown in NPC cells promoted chemoradiotherapy resistance and reduced apoptosis. Analysis of microarray data indicated that the expression of IFN/JAK2 and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response markers, such as JAK2, STAT1, IRF9, IFNB1, IRF3, p‐IRF3, XBP1, ATF6, IFIT2, and ISG15, was inhibited in chemoradiotherapy‐resistant cells compared with that in sensitive cells. Conversely, activation of IFN/JAK2 and ER stress response pathways in NPC cells reduced paclitaxel resistance and increased apoptosis. RIG‐I promotes IFN/JAK2 and ER stress response‐mediated apoptosis to inhibit chemoradiation resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma., RIG‐I expression was significantly reduced in chemoradiotherapy‐resistant NPC tissues and cells compared with that in therapy‐sensitive tissues and cells. Aiming at the corresponding restrictive factors, the extension model and extension implication model of university students' scientific and technological innovation ability training were studied respectively. In the extension model of the cultivation of scientific and technological innovation ability of college students, the key contents such as extension model, expansion mode, expansion convergence and extension model construction are analyzed. In the extension implication model of the cultivation of scientific and technological innovation ability of college students, the extension implication relationship of multiple factors and the extended implication model construction are analyzed. Based on the extension model, the relevant countermeasures and suggestions to cultivate college students' innovation ability are given, so as to realize the extension strategy analysis of cultivating scientific and technological innovation ability of college students, and to provide support for effectively implement of the cultivation of scientific and technological innovation ability of college students in colleges and universities.

Perovskite solar cells have shown remarkable efficiencies beyond 22%, through organic and inorganic cation alloying. However, the role of alkali-metal cations is not well-understood. By using synchrotron-based nano-X-ray fluorescence and complementary measurements, we show that when adding RbI and/or CsI the halide distribution becomes homogenous. This homogenization translates into long-lived charge carrier decays, spatially homogenous carrier dynamics visualized by ultrafast microscopy, as well as improved photovoltaic device performance. We find that Rb and K phase-segregate in highly concentrated aggregates. Synchrotron-based X-ray-beam-induced current and electron-beam-induced current of solar cells show that Rb clusters do not contribute to the current and are recombination active. Our findings bring light to the beneficial effects of alkali metal halides in perovskites, and point at areas of weakness in the elemental composition of these complex perovskites, paving the way to improved performance in this rapidly growing family of materials for solar cell applications., Comment: updated author metadata

This paper presents a mobile solution for the management of chronic diseases, i.e. hypertension and diabetes. This solution facilitates the exchange of health information between patients and pharmacists, supports wellness decision making, and assists behavioral interventions for enhanced self-management and healthcare delivery. Since the beginning of 2015, we have deployed the Software as a Service (SaaS) solution in 3,000 drug stores around China. The one-year trial demonstrated significant improvements in the real-world evidence outcome.

In this paper, a research on Ultra-wideband and Inertial Measurement Unit pose estimation is conducted to track the motion of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Two models have been developed to determine the pose of the target. Using data provided by Ultra-wideband and Inertial Measurement Unit, an Extended Kalman Filter algorithm is adopted to filter noise and obtain precise state of the target after sensor fusion. Simulations of two models show robust and continuous tracking of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The pose estimation performance of simulations is evaluated by mean error and standard deviation. Compared with existing pose estimation methods, the proposed methods are very effective for the reason that they provide all six pose of the target and base stations of Ultra-wideband system can be set up arbitrarily. The proposed methods are suitable for indoor scenarios and some small-area outdoor applications. The main contribution of this paper is two solutions to determine the full six degree of freedom pose of the target.

Image segmentation can be used in non-destructive testing, tracking and recognition. Level set method for image segmentation has poor performance on efficiency. In this paper, we propose to use max-flow algorithm to optimize a locally improved Chan-Vese model for image segmentation in the presence of intensity inhomogeneity. The energy function of local Chan-Vese model is introduced firstly. This model consists of global term, local term and penalty term and the local term contributes the segmentation for images with intensity inhomogeneity. Then, we convert this energy function to the frame of Graph Cut whose energy function can be efficiently minimized by max-flow algorithm. As a result, the process of optimization of local Chan-Vese model can be accelerated by using max-flow algorithm. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve satisfactory segmentation for images with intensity inhomogeneity as well as very high efficiency.

This article presents 6 cases of recurrent sacro-coccygeal tumor with analysis of the causes of recurrence, operational technique for second-time operation and concomitant treatment. It is suggested that combined abdominal and sacro-coccygeal approaches be used to excise maximal mass of the tumor, surrounding affected tissues be curetted out and the space be filled up with adriamycin-bone-cement to destroy remaining tumor cells and to strengthen the stability of pelvis. Besides, the patients should be subject to supersegregation radiotherapy in order to minimize the possibility of recurrence.

Using micro-digital-imaging instrument and OLYCIA Series P3 software to acquire and handle crude oil's micro-pictures, it was aimed to research the microscopic characteristics of wax crystal in Nanyang crude oil under various treating conditions, including heating treatment temperature, standing time, cooling rate and cooling method. And the relationship between microscopic structure and crude oil rheology was discussed and analyzed through using OLYMPUS polarizing microscope and rheometer. The result showed that wax crystal's morphology, quantity and average particle size changed at some degree corresponding to different testing conditions, and consequently to cause crude oil rheology improvement or deterioration, and there are the optimal heating temperature for Nanyang crude oil.

7 eases of 11 peripheral nerve defects (5 median nerves, 5 ulnar nerves, and 1 radial nerve) were repaired through artery-including silicone tubing. The nerves have gaps within 3 cm in 9, and 3 to 5 cm in 2. Repairing the defect’s location, 4 of them were below the axilla; 1 at the upper 1/3 part of the forearm and 6 at the lower part of the forearm. The duration of injuries was from 4 to 7 months, except one case lasting over a year. Six patients with 9 nerves involved had adequate follow-up of 6 to 9 months. One patient with 2 nerves was lost to follow-up. The results were excellent in 5 nerves (M4S3), good in 2 (M3S3), and poor in 2 (M1S1).

Atmospheric aerosol particles, as one of the important members in the earth atmosphere, can influence the radiative transfer from violet and visible light to infrared in a wide wave band. On one hand, by scattering and absorption of electromagnetic waves, they can induce the energy attenuation of light waves; on the other hand, by turning the absorbed energy into the heat energy, they can heat up the atmosphere. This process directly or indirectly plays an important role in the simulation of radiate climate effect, the propagation of laser atmosphere, the high resolution spectrum, the ground and space remote sensing, the atmospheric correction, the environmental monitoring, the target detection and identification, and the overland traffics, aviation and navigation. We review the study of physics-optics characteristics of atmospheric aerosols, aiming at providing a reference for further study of atmospheric aerosols.

The present paper reported 15 cases, in which skin and fascia forearm island flap with posterior interosseous artery pedicle was applied. It was found that this flap has the advantages of stable vessels, abundance in blood supply and good circulation, without sacrificing the main arteries of the forearm. As a result, it is an ideal method for repair and reconstruction of the hand and forearm.

One of the core components of any visual surveillance system is object classification, where detected objects are classified into different categories of interest. Although in airports or train stations, abandoned objects are mainly luggage or trolleys, none of the existing works in the literature have attempted to classify or recognize trolleys. In this paper, we analyze and classify images of trolleys, bags, persons, and groups of people by using various shape features. We conducted a set of experiments with a number of uncluttered (images collected from the Internet with clear background) and cluttered images (images segmented out from the background in real videos) using various criteria. Our experimental results show that the features extracted enable 100% recognition accuracy for the trolley category. For our four-class object recognition problem, we achieved an overall recognition accuracy of 83.3% and an average false positive rate of 6%.
