The slow-evolving invertebrate amphioxus has an irreplaceable role in advancing our understanding of the vertebrate origin and innovations. Here we resolve the nearly complete chromosomal genomes of three amphioxus species, one of which best recapitulates the 17 chordate ancestor linkage groups. We reconstruct the fusions, retention, or rearrangements between descendants of whole-genome duplications, which gave rise to the extant microchromosomes likely existed in the vertebrate ancestor. Similar to vertebrates, the amphioxus genome gradually establishes its three-dimensional chromatin architecture at the onset of zygotic activation and forms two topologically associated domains at the Hox gene cluster. We find that all three amphioxus species have ZW sex chromosomes with little sequence differentiation, and their putative sex-determining regions are nonhomologous to each other. Our results illuminate the unappreciated interspecific diversity and developmental dynamics of amphioxus genomes and provide high-quality references for understanding the mechanisms of chordate functional genome evolution.

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder that is often comorbid with heart dysfunction and even sudden cardiac death (SCD). Clinical studies of SCD in schizophrenia have been largely reported, while there are limited autopsy studies that directly showed whole-scale information of such events. In this study, we present nine autopsy-based SCD cases in schizophrenia patients who died suddenly during hospitalization. Their medical records before and during hospitalization, and postmortem autopsy findings were summarized. These decedents had an average duration of schizophrenia for 6.83 ± 3.75 years with a male/female ratio of 4:5. They were all on intermittent antipsychotics medication before hospitalization and died within 15 days after hospitalization. Seven of the nine cases (77.8%) died of organic heart diseases such as severe coronary artery atherosclerosis (n = 4), myocarditis (n = 1), cardiomyopathy (n = 1), and pulmonary thromboembolism (n = 1). Two cases remained unexplained after systemic autopsy and toxicological examinations. Postmortem autopsy identified hepatic steatosis (n = 6) and respiratory inflammation (n = 3) as the most common associate extra-cardiac lesions. Our data provided autopsy-based data of SCD cases in schizophrenia and highlighted an intensive care of such patients during hospitalization.

Metastasis is the primary cause of cancer patient death and the elevation of SLC2A5 gene expression is often observed in metastatic cancer cells. Here we evaluated the importance of SLC2A5 in cancer cell motility by silencing its gene. We discovered that CRISPR/Cas9-mediated inactivation of the SLC2A5 gene inhibited cancer cell proliferation and migration in vitro as well as metastases in vivo in several animal models. Moreover, SLC2A5-attenuated cancer cells exhibited dramatic alterations in mitochondrial architecture and localization, uncovering the importance of SLC2A5 in directing mitochondrial function for cancer cell motility and migration. The direct association of increased abundance of SLC2A5 in cancer cells with metastatic risk in several types of cancers identifies SLC2A5 as an important therapeutic target to reduce or prevent cancer metastasis.

At present, binary bimetallic sulfides are widely studied in supercapacitors due to their high conductivity and excellent specific capacitance (SC). In this article, NiCo-S nanostructured hybrid electrode materials were prepared on nickel foam (NF) by using a binary metal–organic skeleton as the sacrificial template via a two-step hydrothermal method. Comparative analysis was carried out with Ni-S and Co-S in situ on NF to verify the excellent electrochemical performance of bimetallic sulfide as an electrode material for supercapacitors. NiCo-S/NF exhibited an SC of 2081 F∙g−1 at 1 A∙g−1, significantly superior to Ni-S/NF (1520.8 F∙g−1 at 1 A∙g−1) and Co-S/NF (1427 F∙g−1 at 1 A∙g−1). In addition, the material demonstrated better rate performance and cycle stability, with a specific capacity retention rate of 58% at 10 A∙g−1 than at 1 A∙g−1, and 75.7% of capacity was retained after 5000 cycles. The hybrid supercapacitor assembled by NiCo-S//AC exhibited a high energy density of 25.58 Wh∙kg−1 at a power density of 400 W∙kg−1.

In order to overcome the dynamic interference problem of internal related factors in the prediction process of road traffic flow, a deep learning road traffic flow prediction model based on multi-dimensional influence factors is proposed. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of traffic flow time and space, this model analyzes the traffic flow characteristics of urban traffic system under the relevant factors such as working day, holidays and weather, quantifies the relevant influence factors, and constructs multi-dimensional state vectors combined with road traffic flow. Simulations show that MAE of the MDLSTM prediction model based on multi-dimensional data is reduced by 5.528 and 3.018, and RMSE is reduced by 6.827 and 2.154, respectively, compared with the traditional BP neural network and LSTM models.

In a grid-connected wind farm based on permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs), the wind speed and the number of operating PMSGs are the two most important influencing factors with stochastic nature on subsynchronous oscillation (SSO) from the point view of the farm. This paper proposes a method of unstable SSO risk evaluation for grid-connected PMSG-based wind farm based on sequential Monte Carlo simulation (SMCS). The determination of critical wind speed (CWS) of SSO and the sequential simulation strategy of wind speed states and PMSG states in a wind farm at the same wind speed (S-WF) as well as in a wind farm at different wind speeds (D-WF), are studied. Five indices evaluating the expectation, duration, frequency and energy loss of SSO risk are proposed. Moreover, a strategy to reduce SSO risk by adjusting the cut-in wind speed is discussed. The effectivenesses of the discussed issues in the paper are proved by the case studies of a 750-PMSG wind farm based on the actual wind speed data collected.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based multispectral remote sensing has shown great potential for precision agriculture. However, there are many problems in data acquisition, processing and application, which have stunted its development. In this study, a narrowband Mini-MCA6 multispectral camera and a sunshine-sensor-equipped broadband Sequoia multispectral camera were mounted on a multirotor micro-UAV. They were used to simultaneously collect multispectral imagery and soil–plant analysis development (SPAD) values of maize at multiple sampling points in the field, in addition to the spectral reflectances of six standard diffuse reflectance panels with different reflectance values (4.5%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 60% and 65%). The accuracies of the reflectance and vegetation indices (VIs) derived from the imagery were compared, and the effectiveness and accuracy of the SPAD prediction from the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and red-edge NDVI (reNDVI) under different nitrogen treatments were examined at the plot level. The results show that the narrowband Mini-MCA6 camera could produce more accurate reflectance values than the broadband Sequoia camera, but only if the appropriate calibration method (the nonlinear subband empirical line method) was adopted, especially in visible (blue, green and red) bands. However, the accuracy of the VIs was not completely dependent on the accuracy of the reflectance, i.e., the NDVI from Mini-MCA6 was slightly better than that from Sequoia, whereas Sequoia produced more accurate reNDVI than did Mini-MCA6. At the plot level, reNDVI performed better than NDVI in SPAD prediction regardless of which camera was employed. Moreover, the reNDVI had relatively low sensitivity to the vegetation coverage and was insignificantly affected by environmental factors (e.g., exposed sandy soil). This study indicates that UAV multispectral remote sensing technology is instructive for precision agriculture, but more effort is needed regarding calibration methods for vegetation, postprocessing techniques and robust quantitative studies.

A novel flame-retardant additive, 6,6′,6″-((1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6 triyl) tris (azanediyl)) tris (dibenzo[c,e][1,2]oxaphosphinine 6-oxide) (DOPO-M), was synthesized from melamine and 9,10-dihy-dro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide (DOPO). The structure of DOPO-M was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, proton (1H) and phosphorous (31P) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies, and electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS). DOPO-M was blended into epoxy resin (EP) to prepare flame-retardant EPs. The flame-retardant and thermal properties of EPs cured with triethylenetetramine (TETA) were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), the UL-94 test, and the limiting oxygen index (LOI) test. The results revealed that the epoxy thermosets exhibited excellent flame retardancy and passed the V-0 rating of the UL-94 test with an LOI of 29.3% when the phosphorus content was 2.57 wt%. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results showed that DOPO-M in the EP/TETA system obviously accelerated the formation of a stronger, phosphorus-rich sealing char layer to improve the flame-retardant properties of the matrix during combustion.

The effect of spatial resolution on the radiometric and geometric performances of hyperspectral sensors is an essential issue in remote sensing that urgently needs to be investigated, especially for low-altitude remote sensing principles and applications. Using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-mounted miniature hyperspectral 2D imager (Cubert UHD 185) system, a series of hyperspectral images of several reflectance targets (5%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 60% and 65%) were imaged in hovering flight at various spatial resolutions (ground sampling distances (GSDs)) from 1.2 cm to 4.8 cm, with intervals of 0.4 cm, which correspond to flight altitudes from 30 m to 120 m in increments of 10 m. Subsequently, the effect of spatial resolution on radiometric and geometric performances was evaluated in terms of the change in reflectance and geometric recognition ability of the shape of targets at visible to near-infrared wavelengths. This paper provides a set of methods for assessing the effect of spatial resolution on radiometric and geometric performance, including a radiative transfer model simulation for imaging quality performance, the geometric recognition loss degree (GRLD) for measuring image geometry recognition ability, and a trend projection analysis for developing continuous distribution images of radiometric and geometric performances. The results show that when the size of the target is not less than 50 (row) × 50 (column) pixels in a Cubert hyperspectral image, the absolute error (AE) and the root mean square error (RMSE) of the reflectances of its central pixel are both less than 0.05. Additionally, as the spatial resolution decreased, the AEs of the target reflectances in visible bands increased and then stabilized, and those in the red-edge band and near-infrared bands first increased slowly and then decreased rapidly because an increasing number of pixels were influenced by the surrounding area; thus, the shapes of the spectral curves of the sample area became increasingly similar to those of the surrounding area. This study provides a guide for selecting an appropriate spatial resolution for UAV remote sensing to improve operational efficiency. The reflectance and geometric quantitative losses at different spatial resolutions are conducive to parameter inversion in quantitative remote sensing and spatial resolution transformation and enrich the knowledge of low-altitude UAV hyperspectral remote sensing.

In recent years, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to obtain high-resolution multispectral images has received increasing attention. When using reflectance data for quantitative remote sensing, radiometric calibration is needed that converts digital number to reflectance. Empirical linear radiometric calibration models with large calibration sites are feasible and convenient for remote sensing satellite wide-band sensors, but problems may exist with using this method directly in a UAV high-resolution remote sensing application. In this paper, we proposed a high precision, low cost subband empirical line (SEL) radiometric calibration method with two targets composed of black and white nonwoven fabric. To verify the results of the calibration model, analyses were performed by examining the influence of function selection, calibration materials, and the number of calibration panels. Next, the method was applied to natural field targets. The results show that the black and white panels have good spectral, Lambertian, and contrast characteristics; the power equation was more suitable for the visible bands, whereas the linear equation was more suitable for red-edge and near-infrared bands. The average absolute errors between the predicted reflectance and the measured reflectance were at around 10%. The proposed method had smaller errors and higher accuracy than the other function method, and a high correlation between the predicted and measured reflectance of the maize samples was observed. The SEL method developed in this study provides a reference for studying the radiometric calibration of other multispectral sensors.

Despite significant advances in therapy, the 5-year survival rates for patients with advanced stage oral cancers still remains poor as an appropriate treatment has not been found yet, due to side effects of chemo/radiotherapy. Verbascoside (VB), a major bioactive constituent of the Tsoong herb, displays pharmacological properties by exhibiting anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities. However, the underlining function and mechanism of VB in human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remains unclear. In this study, we show that VB significantly decreased the viability and metastasis of HN4 and HN6 tumor cells, while promoting apoptosis. A xenograft OSCC mouse model further showed that intraperitoneal injection of VB strongly inhibited growth and lung metastasis of implanted tumor cells. Immunoblot analysis confirmed that VB effectively suppressed nuclear factor (NF)-κB activation and downstream Bcl-2/Bcl-XL expression, resulting in increased OSCC cell apoptosis. In addition, VB suppressed mRNA and protein expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 via suppression of NF-κB activation, thereby inhibiting tumor cell metastasis. Inspiringly, compared to cisplatin-treated group, VB is a biocompatible agent without signficant side effects in vivo. Collectively, our results demonstrate that VB effectively inhibits OSCC tumor cell growth and metastasis via suppression of IκB kinase complex (IKK)/NF-κB-related signaling activation, suggesting that VB has potential use as a potent anticancer agent in OSCC therapeutic strategies.

Two isomeric 1,4-thiaborin derivatives fused by two thiophene rings (dithieno-1,4-thiaborins, DTTBs) were synthesized in two steps from commercially available materials, and their structures were confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis. DTTBs 1 and 2 showed excellent stability towards air and moisture. Theoretical calculations revealed that the fusion of thiophenes enhanced the aromaticity of the centered 1,4-thiaborins compared to their corresponding dibenzothiaborins. Furthermore, DTTBs 1 and 2 could be further functionalized by metalation followed by addition of electrophile. DTTBs are promising platforms upon which it is possible to build the next generation of organoboron π-electron materials.

Here, we aim to determine the distribution, ecological risk and sources of heavy metals and metalloids in the surface sediments of the Xiangjiang River, Hunan Province, China. Sixty-four surface sediment samples were collected in 16 sites of the Xiangjiang River, and the concentrations of ten heavy metals and metalloids (Mn, Zn, Cr, V, Pb, Cu, As, Ni, Co, and Cd) in the sediment samples were investigated using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) and an atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer (AFS), respectively. The results showed that the mean concentrations of the ten heavy metals and metalloids in the sediment samples followed the order Mn > Zn > Cr > V > Pb > Cu > As ≈ Ni >Co > Cd. The geoaccumulation index (I geo), enrichment factor (EF), modified degree of contamination (mCd), and potential ecological risk index (RI) revealed that Cd, followed by Pb, Zn, and Cu, caused severely contaminated and posed very highly potential ecological risk in the Xiangjiang River, especially in Shuikoushan of Hengyang, Xiawan of Zhuzhou, and Yijiawan of Xiangtan. The Pearson's correlation coefficient (PCC) analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) indicated that the ten heavy metals and metalloids in the sampling sediments of the Xiangjiang River were classified into three groups: (1) Cd, Pb, Zn, and Cu which possibly originated from Shuikoushan, Xiawan, and Yijiawan clustering Pb-Zn mining and smelting industries; (2) Co, V, Ni, Cr, and Al from natural resources; and (3) Mn and As. Therefore, our results suggest that anthropogenic activities, especially mining and smelting, have caused severe contamination of Cd, Pb, Zn, and Cu and posed very high potential ecological risk in the Xiangjiang River.

Here, we aimed to investigate whether resveratrol (RSV) can ameliorate high-fat diet (HFD)-induced metabolic disorder in fish. Blunt snout bream (Megalobrama amblycephala) with average weight 27.99 ± 0.56 g were fed a normal fat diet (NFD, 5% fat, w/w), a HFD (11% fat), or a HFD supplemented with 0.04, 0.36, or 1.08% RSV for 10 weeks. As expected, fish fed a HFD developed hepatic steatosis, as shown by elevated hepatic and plasma triglycerides, raised whole body fat, intraperitoneal fat ratio and hepatosomatic index, and increased plasma alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST). RSV supplementation lessened increases in body mass, whole body fat, and intraperitoneal fat, and alleviated development of hepatic steatosis, elevations of plasma triglyceride and glucose, and abnormalities of ALT and AST in HFD-fed fish. RSV supplementation increased SIRT1 messenger RNA (mRNA) expression and consequently hepatic mRNA expression of adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL), carnitine palmitoyltransferase (CPT1a), and microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP), implying upregulation of lipolysis, β-oxidation, and lipid transport, respectively, in the liver. Conversely, hepatic lipoprotein lipase (LPL), sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP-1c), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ), and ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) mRNA expression were decreased, implying suppression of fatty acid uptake, lipogenesis, and fatty acid synthesis. Additionally, RSV downregulated glucokinase (GCK) and sodium-dependent glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1) and upregulated glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) mRNA expression, thus restoring normal glucose fluxes. Thus, RSV improves lipid and glucose metabolisms in blunt snout bream, which are potentially mediated by activation of SIRT1.

To obtain a high-accuracy vegetation classification of high-resolution UAV images, in this paper, a multi-angle hyperspectral remote sensing system was built using a six-rotor UAV and a Cubert S185 frame hyperspectral sensor. The application of UAV-based multi-angle remote sensing in fine vegetation classification was studied by combining a bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) model for multi-angle remote sensing and object-oriented classification methods. This method can not only effectively reduce the classification phenomena that influence different objects with similar spectra, but also benefit the construction of a canopy-level BRDF. Then, the importance of the BRDF characteristic parameters are discussed in detail. The results show that the overall classification accuracy (OA) of the vertical observation reflectance based on BRDF extrapolation (BRDF_0°) (63.9%) was approximately 24% higher than that based on digital orthophoto maps (DOM) (39.8%), and kappa using BRDF_0° was 0.573, which was higher than that using DOM (0.301); a combination of the hot spot and dark spot features, as well as model features, improved the OA and kappa to around 77% and 0.720, respectively. The reflectance features near hot spots were more conducive to distinguishing maize, soybean, and weeds than features near dark spots; the classification results obtained by combining the observation principal plane (BRDF_PP) and on the cross-principal plane (BRDF_CP) features were best (OA = 89.2%, kappa = 0.870), and especially, this combination could improve the distinction among different leaf-shaped trees. BRDF_PP features performed better than BRDF_CP features. The observation angles in the backward reflection direction of the principal plane performed better than those in the forward direction. The observation angles associated with the zenith angles between −10° and −20° were most favorable for vegetation classification (solar position: zenith angle 28.86°, azimuth 169.07°) (OA was around 75%–80%, kappa was around 0.700–0.790); additionally, the most frequently selected bands in the classification included the blue band (466 nm–492 nm), green band (494 nm–570 nm), red band (642 nm–690 nm), red edge band (694 nm–774 nm), and the near-infrared band (810 nm–882 nm). Overall, the research results promote the application of multi-angle remote sensing technology in vegetation information extraction and provide important theoretical significance and application value for regional and global vegetation and ecological monitoring.

In this study, the evaporation behavior of a desulfurization wastewater (electrolyte solution) droplet with different solute concentration at different ambient gas temperature, was investigated by hanging on a glass fiber in a hot constant chamber. A high speed camera was used to record the evaporation process of the droplet. The radius change of the droplet in different conditions were given. A fine thermocouple was inserted in the distilled water droplet to record the temperature history during evaporation. A mathematical model was built with consideration of the effects on the concentration of the water activity and the density change. The results showed that concentration in the surface region was higher than that in the uniform concentration model. The uniform concentration was an assumption of less precision for this droplet evaporation calculation. Additionally, for the wastewater solution whose density changed greatly with concentration, the results showed the density change gave the dominated factor affecting the change of the droplet evaporation rate. Finally, the evaporation and crystallization process gave the effect on the surface region of the droplet keeping the solute concentration relatively high. This lead to the lower evaporation rate when adding non-evaporating dissolved solutes at the beginning period of evaporation.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of resveratrol (R) and quercetin (Q) supplementation on growth performance, antioxidant capability and hepatic apoptosis of juvenile blunt snout bream (average initial weight 4.6 ± 0.10 g) fed a high-fat diet (HFD). Eight experimental diets were formulated to contain normal fat diet (NFD, 5% fat), a HFD (11% fat), or a HFD supplemented with three resveratrol levels (0, 0.5% and 1.0%) and two quercetin levels (0.4% and 0.8%), designated diets as D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7, and D8, respectively. The ammonium nitrogen oxidation process (ANOP) is the first and most important step for nitrogen removal in constructed wetlands (CWs). The process was investigated by observing the products generated from the ANOP in on-site aerobic systems with selective inhibition of nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) through appropriate regulation of the pH, temperature and dissolved oxygen concentrations. The effects of season, plant type and density on ANOP were also studied to determine the optimal conditions for the ANOP. Nitrite accumulation was found in the aerobic experiments and greater ammonia-oxidizing bacteria than NOB numbers, showing that partial nitrification to nitrite was occurring in the studied CWs. The nitrogen removal rate was positively linearly correlated with the nitrite accumulation rate, and so the more NH 3 -N removed by ANOP, the greater the resulting nitrogen removal. Season and plant density had a significant effect on the ANOP. However, there were no significant differences between the units planted with common reed and cattail.

Based on the signaling theory and the social exchange theory, this dissertation clarifies the driving factors and mechanism between Fashion web celebrity and attributes and relationship of parasocial interaction through the literature review, In the South China, Middle and North China, there were N audiences who used SNS experience as survey target to conduct a survey. And analyzed these data with SEM software. The research found that between Fashion web Fashion web celebrity and attributes and SNS participation motivation show a positive correlation with relationship of parasocial interaction, and there is a positive correlation between relationship of parasocial interaction and identification, relationship of parasocial interaction and identification have positive correlation with customer equity. E-WOM on customer asset-driven process has a clear intermediary role in the relationship of parasocial Interaction.
