Objective: To systematically evaluate the risk factors for permanent neurological dysfunction (PND) after Stanford type A aortic dissection (TAAD). Method: Electronic databases included PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang Data, VIP, and CBM. We collected studies about risk factors for PND after TAAD was published from inception to December 2021. Two authors independently assessed the quality of the studies, and a meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 5.3 Software. Results: A total of 20 studies involved 11382 cases, and among them, 1321 patients suffered PND, including 34 predictive risk factors. The meta-analysis showed that age (OR=1.11, 95% CI (1.06, 1.16), P < 0.0001), preoperative PND (OR=2.95, 95% CI (2.14, 4.07), P < 0.00001), retrograde tear in the ascending aorta (OR=6.67, 95% CI (3.23, 13.79), P < 0.00001) were independent risk factors for PND after TAAD surgery. Conclusions: Current evidence shows that age, preoperative PND, retrograde tearing in the ascending aorta are risk factors for PND after TAAD. These factors can be used to identify high-risk patients, providing guidance for medical staff to develop perioperative preventive strategies to reduce the incidence of PND. The results should be validated by higher-quality studies.

Multi-output deep neural networks(MONs) contain multiple task branches, and these tasks usually share partial network filters that lead to the entanglement of different task inference routes. Due to the inconsistent optimization objectives, the task gradients used for training MONs will interfere with each other on the shared routes, which will decrease the overall model performance. To address this issue, we propose a novel gradient de-conflict algorithm named DR-MGF(Dynamic Routes and Meta-weighted Gradient Fusion) in this work. Different from existing de-conflict methods, DR-MGF achieves gradient de-conflict in MONs by learning task-preferred inference routes. The proposed method is motivated by our experimental findings: the shared filters are not equally important to different tasks. By designing the learnable task-specific importance variables, DR-MGF evaluates the importance of filters for different tasks. Through making the dominances of tasks over filters be proportional to the task-specific importance of filters, DR-MGF can effectively reduce the inter-task interference. The task-specific importance variables ultimately determine task-preferred inference routes at the end of training iterations. Extensive experimental results on CIFAR, ImageNet, and NYUv2 illustrate that DR-MGF outperforms the existing de-conflict methods both in prediction accuracy and convergence speed of MONs. The increasingly frequent algal blooms in freshwater have become a major environmental problem in the world. In recent years, algae removal by the biological method is receiving more attention for its eco-friendly characteristics. In this study, we examined the effects of藻类水华频发已成为全球性的水环境问题,近年来,生物控藻法因具有环境友好的特点而备受关注。本研究以我国富营养化湖泊中常见大型底栖动物铜锈环棱螺为操纵生物,通过室内培养试验,研究了其对水华水体中常见蓝藻铜绿微囊藻、绿藻普通小球藻和斜生栅藻生长及光合活性的影响,以期阐明螺-藻间相互作用关系,探究铜锈环棱螺作为生物操纵物种的可行性。结果表明: 铜锈环棱螺能在短时间内大量摄食藻细胞,其对铜绿微囊藻产毒株和不产毒株以及斜生栅藻的去除率均在12 h内达到最大值,分别为73.7%、73.2%和51.1%;其对普通小球藻的摄食强于其他藻类,至试验结束时去除率达到99.2%。产毒铜绿微囊藻产生的微囊藻毒素会在铜锈环棱螺体内累积并促发其肝脏病理学变化,进而阻碍铜锈环棱螺的摄食。试验后期各处理组藻细胞光合活性均显著低于对照组,表明铜锈环棱螺的摄食作用对藻细胞造成了损伤,抑制了其大量增殖。此外,当不产毒铜绿微囊藻与斜生栅藻混合时,铜锈环棱螺的选择摄食性导致微囊藻的优势地位被斜生栅藻所取代。因此,铜锈环棱螺可以通过摄食作用抑制藻类的光合活性并降低其生物量,从而在一定程度上抑制或减缓水华的形成。.

Pulmonary hemorrhage (PH) is a rare acute catastrophic event with high mortality among neonates, especially preterm infants. Primary treatments included pulmonary surfactant, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, epinephrine, coagulopathy management, and intermittent positive pressure ventilation. However, there are still challenges in diagnosing and treating refractory or focal pulmonary hemorrhages. Ultra-slim bronchoscopy has been widely used in the field of critically ill children and is increasingly being done in neonates with critical respiratory disease in recent years. In this study, we report a case with refractory pulmonary hemorrhage in premature infants, which was finally diagnosed as localized hemorrhage in the upper left lobe and cured by ultra-slim bronchoscopy-guided topical hemostatic drug administration. Bronchoscopy is an optional, safe, and practicable technique for early diagnosis and direct injection therapy of neonatal PH in managing life-threatening PH.

Proteins, as gifts from nature, provide structure, sequence, and function templates for designing biomaterials. Here, we reported an engineered toolkit derived from a natural block copolymer, RfA1. RfA1 is composed of positively charged polyelectrolyte linker regions interspersed with highly conserved polyampholyte motifs. These linkers and motifs are constructional fragments and ready-to-use building blocks for synthetic design and construction. One functional and editable feature of RfA1 derivatives is their preferential distribution to cytoplasm or nucleoplasm, in a fragment-replication-determined manner. Based on this property, a prices spatiotemporal Tet-on demo was established, which effectively transports cargo peptides into nuclei at selective time points. Moreover, the functional homogeneities of either motifs or linkers were also verified, making them standardized building blocks for synthetic biology. In summary, this study provides a modularized, orthotropic and well-characterized toolkit for precise and spatiotemporal regulation of protein nucleocytoplasmic localization.

MRI-derived brain measures offer a link between genes, the environment and behavior and have been widely studied in bipolar disorder (BD). However, many neuroimaging studies of BD have been underpowered, leading to varied results and uncertainty regarding effects. The Enhancing Neuro Imaging Genetics through Meta-Analysis (ENIGMA) Bipolar Disorder Working Group was formed in 2012 to empower discoveries, generate consensus findings and inform future hypothesis-driven studies of BD. Through this effort, over 150 researchers from 20 countries and 55 institutions pool data and resources to produce the largest neuroimaging studies of BD ever conducted. The ENIGMA Bipolar Disorder Working Group applies standardized processing and analysis techniques to empower large-scale meta- and mega-analyses of multimodal brain MRI and improve the replicability of studies relating brain variation to clinical and genetic data. Initial BD Working Group studies reveal widespread patterns of lower cortical thickness, subcortical volume and disrupted white matter integrity associated with BD. Findings also include mapping brain alterations of common medications like lithium, symptom patterns and clinical risk profiles and have provided further insights into the pathophysiological mechanisms of BD. Here we discuss key findings from the BD working group, its ongoing projects and future directions for large-scale, collaborative studies of mental illness.

We conducted anchoring performance, stress distribution, and full-scale indoor pulling tests on glass-fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bolts. The tests were conducted using finite element software while considering the multi-interface contact and BK criterion by using the cohesive element to simulate the contact relations between the anchor rod body and concrete and building an axial symmetry calculation model of the GRFP bolt and concrete. The results indicated that the finite element model based on cohesive element accurately represents the load–displacement relationship of the GFRP bolt and the distribution law of axial stress along the anchoring length. In addition, the simulation outcomes of the load–displacement relationship were in good agreement with the measured test values. Under the same load, the axial-force-transferred depth of the bolt body was identical regardless of the anchorage length. As anchoring length increases, the pull load on the bolt and the decay rate of axial stress along the anchoring length rises gradually. There is a critical value for the anchorage length of the bolt.

To explore the association between phytoplankton community structure and water quality of the Tianhe Reservoir in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, we examined the phytoplankton and physico-chemical factors in the Tianhe Reservoir from February 2019 to January 2020. An earthquake is one of the most serious natural disasters to human beings. The damage from destructive earthquakes is enormous, and the predictions and estimations of earthquakes are urgent challenges in global science fields. In view of the shortcomings of the Markov chain model and the kriging methods in the estimation of the probabilities of the occurrence of earthquakes, the Markov chain–linear kriging coupling model has been established. The model has been applied to estimate the spatial distribution of probabilities of the occurrence of destructive earthquakes of Ms4.5 and Ms6.0 and above in the Sichuan area. According to the estimations of this model, the maximum probabilities of the occurrence of earthquakes of Ms4.5 and Ms6.0 and above in the Changning area of Yibin are 9.59% and 0.46%, respectively, which are close to the frequencies of occurrences of earthquakes of corresponding magnitude in the series of earthquakes that occurred in June 2019 in the region. The validation indicates that the average standard errors of this model for estimating the probabilities of the occurrence of earthquakes of Ms4.5 and Ms6.0 and above are 4.96% and 0.81%, respectively, which are lower than the probability kriging, and the estimation of this model highlighted the high value region of the probabilities.

[Purpose/significance] In order to explore the social public’s emotional tendency towards academic achievements on social platforms and whether academic information will cause certain social risks to scholars when facing the public with great differences. [Method/process] Links to original texts of all academic information related to Sina Weibo provided by Altmetric company from October 2011 to October 2017 have been selected. On this basis, python was used to crawl Sina Weibo comment data, and a total of 53826 valid comment data were obtained, which constituted the basic data set of this study for emotional analysis. [Result/conclusion] The research finds that different scholars and the public have a greater acceptance of networked academic information, and the emotional tendency of Sina Weibo data comments is generally positive. However, if the original Sina Weibo has ambiguous or extreme comments, the public may have negative emotions due to misunderstanding of the original text and attacks on these extreme comments. This paper also tries to introduce The Schwartz value Scale from the micro perspective and put forward the idea of emotional evaluation of Sina Weibo academic information review based on values, in order to provide more detailed thinking of emotion dimension for the study of Altmetrics index from the perspective of emotion analysis.

In Zijinshan, a commercial copper bio-heap leaching plant has been operating successfully since 2006. The plant used raffinate as irrigation solution and operated at low pH and high iron concentration from 2006 to 2010. However, high concentration of soluble iron led to crud formation and low current efficiency in subsequent solvent extraction and electro-winning (SX-EW) steps. It is important to reduce iron dissolution in bioleaching and address this low current efficiency issue. About 1500 m 3 /h acid mine drainage (AMD) accumulated in collection pool in the Zijinshan copper mine. Not only does it cause the loss of copper, but also result in potentially secondary pollution. This paper proposes an option to use AMD as leaching solution for the recovery of copper. Column bioleaching experiments were performed with low-grade secondary copper sulfide ore from Zijinshan. To simulate leaching, several variables such as irrigation solution, leachate treatment (with or without recirculation), irrigation duration, temperature and pH were considered for the evaluation of the copper recovery and iron extraction. Results showed that 6–8 h/d irrigation was needed to ensure the wetting of the ore surface, to keep sufficiently high temperature and aeration inside the column. Under optimal pH condition of 1.6–1.8, with recirculation of AMD, copper leaching reached 90%, however iron leaching was only 20% both after 240 days, respectively. About 78–86% of copper extraction was observed in the first 100 days and then slight increase of about 4–12% towards the end, whereas iron extraction continued with an upward trend after 100 days. The results showed that AMD could be utilized for selective and efficient copper recovery in Zijinshan copper mine.

This study aimed to investigate the application of the healthcare failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) to reduce the incidence of posture syndrome of thyroid surgery (PSTS). The near infrared spectrometric quantitative model of protein feed and its sharing in different instruments can greatly improve the utilization efficiency of the model and meet the needs of rapid development of feed industry. Considering the issue of applicability of near infrared spectrometric models for crude protein of protein feed materials, calibration transfer was explored among three types of instruments using spectral subtraction correction, direct standardization and piecewise directs standardization methods for the first time. Four kinds of protein feed raw materials were involved in the present study, corn protein powder, rapeseed meal, fish meal and distillers dried grains with soluble. The experimental instruments included MATRIX-I Fourier transform near infrared instrument (master instrument), Spectrum 400 Fourier transform near infrared instrument (slave 1 instrument), and SupNIR-2750 grating near infrared instrument (slave 2 instrument). Results showed that the spectral data difference for all the samples between the master and slave 2 instrument was relatively small, and the difference between the master and slave 1 instrument, and slave 1 and slave 2 instrument were relatively large. All the root mean square error of prediction and bias values after calibration transfer were lower than the values before calibration transfer, except that no improvement was found for the prediction of corn protein powder of slave 2 instrument corrected by piecewise direct standardization method. The relative prediction deviation (RPD) of corn protein powder, rapeseed meal and distillers dried grains with soluble transferred by all three methods were higher than 3, which indicated good predictions, while the RPD of fish meal were all higher than 2.5, which indicated relative good predictions. All three techniques used in the study were effective in the correction of the difference between different instruments for protein feed materials. This study is of important practical significance for the application of near infrared spectrometric models for crude protein of protein feed materials.

Using a first-principles method based on density functional theory, together with the generalised gradient approximation, the structures and electronic properties of Cn(n = 2–9) clusters have been determined, and their highest occupied molecular orbital–lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy gaps and their binding energies have been calculated. The results show that the Cn cluster binding energy, and therefore, the stability of the cluster structure increase monotonically with cluster size n. The cluster energy gap varies in a non-monotonic manner with cluster size, and its range of values indicates that the clusters behave as semiconductors. According to the partial density of states of the carbon atoms, the energy of the s state falls with increasing cluster size, whereas the energy of the p state rises.

The adsorption of bacteria onto minerals is the premise for bioleaching and plays an important role in minerals oxidation. Understanding of the adsorption kinetics onto the surface will give information on the effectiveness of bioleaching. Three kinds of mixed bacteria (Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Leptospirillum ferrooxidans, Sulfobacillus) were cultured in different substrates - copper concentrate, elemental sulfur and ferrous iron and adsorbed onto different solid surface of elemental sulfur, silica and copper concentrate. Adsorption kinetics was examined and surface properties were investigated by Zeta-potential and FT-IR spectroscopy. Bacterial adsorption equilibrium data for bacteria grown on three different substrates were well fitted to Freundlich isotherms, indicating inhomogeneous and selective adsorption. Microorganisms grown on copper concentrate and S0 showed similar adsorption kinetics whereby cell adsorptions proceeded rapidly and reached equilibrium within 30 mins of interaction. With the average KF value of 46.2, most copper concentrate-grown cells were strongly adsorbed to three solid surfaces. Microorganisms grown on copper concentrate and S0 also showed higher hydrophobicity and higher isoelectric point (IEP) (pH 3.4-3.8) as compared to the soluble Fe2+-grown cells (pH 2.1), indicating higher amount of EPS and proteins on the surfaces. The FT-IR spectra indicated the presence of COOH, NH2, OH and PO4 groups on all cell surfaces. However, more proteinaceous compounds were found on cells grown on copper concentrate and S0 substrates.

International audience; Thirteen one-dimensional consolidation tests with step loading were performed on dredged clays reconstituted at different initial water contents. Both vertical deformation and pore pressure were measured during primary consolidation, which refers to the time-dependent compression process associated with the dissipation of pore pressure. The pore pressure changes were investigated by considering the maximum and the residual values. The development of compression during pore pressure dissipation was analysed to identify the change patterns in volumetric strain-time curves. Three types of change patterns were found during the primary consolidation, and the remoulded yield stress was found to be the key factor in classifying the change patterns. The inflexion point is absent for types 1 and 2, indicating that the end of primary consolidation cannot be determined by the commonly used Taylor and Casagrande methods. Type 3 shows an inverse 'S' shape, suggesting that the end of primary consolidation determined based on the compression-time curves occurs before the completion of pore pressure dissipation.

Despite great advances in lipid-lowering therapy, the gender-based disparities in lipid goal success among Chinese coronary heart disease (CHD) patients receiving lipid-lowering treatment remained uncharacterized. Furthermore, little is known about potential causes for this gender imbalance. This cross-sectional trial included 25 697 patients treated with lipid-lowering agents from 122 centres between April 2012 and October 2012; data for 9420 participants with CHD were analysed in the present study; all underwent clinical examination and had their latest fasting lipid profiles while on lipid-lowering therapy recorded. Logistic regression was used to explore possible factors associated with gender disparity in goal attainment rates, and to what extent each factor contributes. Of 9420 CHD patients (42.5% women) evaluated, women had a significantly lower overall low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) success rate than men (46.2 vs. 62.7%, P < 0.0001). Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) is the target enzyme of organophosphorus and carbamate insecticides. We applied trichlorfon to select resistant strains of Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel in the laboratory. Two trichlorfon-resistant strains, the Tri-R1 strain with 18.23-fold resistance and the Tri-R2 strain with 69.5-fold resistance, were obtained. Three known mutations, I159V, G433S and Q588R were identified in AChE of two resistant strains, and a novel mutation, G365A, was identified in the more resistant Tri-R2 strain. The modeled 3-D-structure of AChE showed that G365A and G433S are closely adjacent in the gorge above the catalytic site S235. Mutations of G365A and G433S resulted in a steric hindrance by stronger Van der Waals force between two sites. Such a minor structural change might block insecticides from squeezing through the gorge to reach the active site, but not the natural substrate. Compared with the susceptible strain, the AChE activity of the Tri-R1 strain and the Tri-R2 strain was 0.87- and 0.67-fold, the K m value of the Tri-R1 strain and the Tri-R2 strain was 0.11- and 0.10-fold, the V max value of two resistant strains was 0.26- and 0.15-fold, whereas, the I 50 to trichlorfon significantly increased by 9.07- and 13.19-fold. These results suggested that the novel point mutation G365A of AChE might be involved in increasing resistance to trichlorfon in the resistant strain of oriental fruit fly.

Recent progress in using excimer and femtosecond lasers to fabricate functional fiber-optic sensing devices is reviewed extensively in this paper. The application of femtosecond lasers is to fabricate fiber gratings and in-line fiber-optic interferometers for measurements of strain, temperature and refractive index. The application of 157 nm excimer lasers is to create fiber gratings and in-line fiber interferometers for measurements of strain, acceleration, pressure, temperature and refractive index. Compared with conventional optical fiber sensors, these novel micro optical fiber sensors fabricated by laser-micromachining have outstanding advantages, such as fast and direct formation, easy mass-production with ultralow-cost, good reproducibility, excellent optical performance, low temperature cross-sensitivity, etc., which pave a way to form a new generation of miniature fiber-optic sensors for many applications.

Low-grade, finely disseminated refractory sulfide gold ores associated with high arsenic are ubiquitous resources all over the world. Since heap bio-oxidation is an economic and promising biotechnology to recover gold, low grade, high organic carbon and arsenic bearing gold ores from Zhesang Mines in China were chosen for this purpose to study the key factors that would affect biooxidation. Pyrite and arsenopyrite (particle size 0.002-0.22 mm) were the main minerals from Mineral Liberation Analysis (MLA). Column biooxidation and cyanidation of mineral size < 10 mm were evaluated for its potential for gold extraction. Results showed that temperature was the main factor influencing sulfide oxidation. 58-67 % of sulfide was oxidized at 35-45°C after > 240 days of biooxidation with mixed mesophiles, while higher sulfide-S dissolution (77%) was obtained at 60°C. Sulfide-S fraction distribution revealed higher mineral decomposition, finer fractions and eventually higher sulfide oxidation at 60°C. Jarosite and scorodite were found from the residues at 60°C by SEM and EDX, which implies higher temperature accelerated arsenic precipitation. No elemental sulfur was detected during the biooxidation at 35-60°C. After bio-oxidation, column cyanidation was successfully demonstrated recovery of gold from the residues, with gold extraction rate reaching 66%.
