A novel alkali-activated magnesium slag-based cementitious nanocomposite (AMSCN) was synthesized by co-loaded NiO and CuO, and employed as a photocatalyst for the degradation of methyl orange dye. The FESEM images reveal that the AMSCN has a nanostructural morphology with average size of about 30 nm. The XRD patterns show that the AMSCN is principally composed of mineralogical phase of calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H). NiO active species are uniformly dispersed in the form of amorphous phase and CuO emerged nanophase with mean size of 15 nm on the surface of AMSCN. The 10(NiO+CuO)/AMSCN nanocomposite exhibits the highest photocatalytic degradation rate (93%) due to the synergistic effect between the AMSCN matrix and active species of NiO and CuO. The kinetics analysis indicates that the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange follows the first order reaction kinetics.

To measure the coordinate of Center of Rotation(COR) for projection in an X-ray CT imaging system,calibrate the projection geometry coordinate system,and to eliminate the CT image artifacts caused by the positioning error of COR,this paper derives two lemmas based on the advantages and disadvantages of existing methods,i.e.'A particle is scanned a circle by a CT scanner,then the integral of the particle's projection addresses under each projection view equals to zero' and 'The sum of the crossing point coordinates of projection sine curves of random two particles equals to zero'.According to the above lemmas,an appropriate threshold is set to segment the sinogram to a binary image,the projection addresses of the rays penetrating the object are got based on the segmentation results and then the COR coordinate for projection is obtained by calculating the mean of these projection addresses.The experimental results show that the method can measure the COR precisely and can improve the reconstructed image quality greatly.Moreover,the repeated measurement accuracy is less than 0.08 pixel.

In order to solve the navigation problem in x-ray security inspection, a stereoscopic visualization method is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the geometric relations between x-ray generator, detector and baggage on conveyor belt, a data reorganization method is used to produce rotating views of scanned baggage, which could be used as three-dimensional navigation. For illustration, a single slice helical scan model was adopted to demonstrate the algorithm. Experiment results show that pseudo-three-dimensional navigation is helpful to determine illegal objects in baggage. Compared with two-dimensional digital radiology navigation, this method could provide more information about the scanned object. Compared with real three-dimensional navigation methods with volume render technology, this method has the merit of low computational cost.

ObjectivesThis study sought to assess the vascular response of overlapping Absorb stents compared with overlapping newer-generation everolimus-eluting metallic platform stents (Xience V [XV]) in a porcine coronary artery model.BackgroundThe everolimus-eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffold (Absorb) is a novel approach to treating coronary lesions. A persistent inflammatory response, fibrin deposition, and delayed endothelialization have been reported with overlapping first-generation drug-eluting stents.MethodsForty-one overlapping Absorb and overlapping Xience V (XV) devices (3.0 × 12 mm) were implanted in the main coronary arteries of 17 nonatherosclerotic pigs with 10% overstretch. Implanted coronary arteries were evaluated by optical coherence tomography (OCT) at 28 days (Absorb n = 11, XV n = 7) and 90 days (Absorb n = 11, XV n = 8), with immediate histological evaluation following euthanasia at the same time points. One animal from each time point was evaluated with scanning electron microscopy alone. A total of 1,407 cross sections were analyzed by OCT and 148 cross sections analyzed histologically.ResultsAt 28 days in the overlap, OCT analyses indicated 80.1% of Absorb struts and 99.4% of XV struts to be covered (p < 0.0001), corresponding to histological observations of struts with cellular coverage of 75.4% and 99.6%, respectively (p < 0.001). Uncovered struts were almost exclusively related to the presence of “stacked” Absorb struts, that is, with a direct overlay configuration. At 90 days, overlapping Absorb and overlapping XV struts demonstrated >99% strut coverage by OCT and histology, with no evidence of a significant inflammatory process, and comparable % volume obstructions.ConclusionsIn porcine coronary arteries implanted with overlapping Absorb or overlapping XV struts, strut coverage is delayed at 28 days in overlapping Absorb, dependent on the overlay configuration of the thicker Absorb struts. At 90 days, both overlapping Absorb and overlapping XV have comparable strut coverage. The implications of increased strut thickness may have important clinical and design considerations for bioresorbable platforms.

Touch-screen all-in-one-machine is the simplest, most convenient and most natural human-computer interaction method as a new kind of computer input devices. For the disadvantages of the current touch screen systems such as the relatively simple function of the system and the lack of security features, this paper proposes a common software interface, which makes use of B/S mode to realize the browsing of the remote data, provides the authorized access mechanism based on Web secure access control, and achieves classification access of the remote data.
