Building energy consumption in maintaining comfortable built environment has become a critical issue under the background of climate change, energy shortage issues and carbon emission reduction targets worldwide. The adaptive thermal comfort is a possible solution to a sustainable built environment that provides a comfortable indoor thermal environment and consume fewer energy. According to the adaptive theory of thermal comfort, adaptive thermal comfort differs among populations with different backgrounds. There is a lack of attention to the adaptive thermal comfort of rural residents in China, despite the large existing rural populations. This research focuses on the adaptive thermal comfort of rural residents in the Cold climate zone of China. The aim of this research is to investigate thermal comfort requirements and adaptation behaviours of rural residents in the Cold climate zone of China with the adaptive approach under the adaptive thermal comfort theory and to study their energy-saving potentials. This research is based on thermal comfort field surveys carried out in a typical winter season between 21st December 2018 and 23rd February 2019 and a typical summer season between 22nd July and 4th September 2019. Finally, 610 valid questionnaires were collected, of which 382 were from the winter field survey and 228 were from the summer field survey. Conclusions are drawn as follows: Indoor operative temperature in rural houses changes with outdoor climate, and the overcooling problem in winter was more severe than the overheating problem in summer; The majority of respondents felt “comfortable” “acceptable” in the indoor thermal environment in winter and summer; Adaptive thermal comfort models and comfort zones for rural residents were proposed; Indoor clothing insulation of rural residents is influenced by non-environmental factors and environmental factors in different ways and to different degrees; Dynamic indoor clothing insulation predictive models for rural residents was proposed; Adaptive thermal comfort and clothing adaptation of rural residents significantly change indoor setpoint temperature and have great energy-saving potentials.

Damage in bolts, which are used as connecting fasteners in steel structures, affects structural safety. Sophisticated machine vision methods have been formulated for the detection of loose bolts, but their accuracy remains an area for improvement. In this paper, a method based on a stacked hourglass network is proposed for automatically extracting the key points of a bolt and for obtaining the bolt loosening angle by comparing the rotations of the key points before and after the bolt is damaged. A data set containing 100 images of key bolt loosening points was collected, and rotation was performed as data augmentation to yield 1800 images. Moreover, a method was designed for automatically annotating the augmented image data set. In this study, 70%, 10%, and 20% of the annotated image data set were used for training, validation, and testing, respectively. Subsequently, a neural network model based on a stacked hourglass network was established to train the annotated image data set. The detection results were evaluated in terms of normalized errors (NEs), percentage of correct key points (PCK), detection speed, and training time. In testing, the proposed method accurately and efficiently identified the bolt loosening angle, with a PCK value as high as 99.3%. The accuracy of the proposed method was also highly robust to different shooting distances, viewing angles, and illumination levels.

It was investigated the successful transition and learning experiences of students at Bucheon International University. The researchers explored which factors contribute to Bucheon University students’ academic adjustment, classroom experiences, and perception of autonomy support within their learning environments, a qualitative research approach was employed to delve deeper into how Bucheon University students view their classroom learning settings and learning experiences. Follow-up interviews were used in the qualitative phase to investigate the empirical relationships between autonomy-supportive environments and the classroom's affective (language, anxiety), behavioral (discussion participation), and cognitive (adaptive beliefs about classroom assessments) learning components. Findings showed that students at Bucheon University appeared to be satisfied by autonomy-supportive environments, which reduced language anxiety and boosted classroom engagement and adaptive perspectives on evaluation. By using selective codes (theme), the main themes involving multiple meanings were elicited. The five common themes below were found from the interview data. First theme indicated that instructors and peer groups provide support and it helps adapt in international university. Second theme indicated that main barrier is a foreign language. Third theme indicated that openness and willingness of instructors help to adapt to the new environment. Fourth theme indicated that students showed willingness to participate in group discussion during classes. Fifth theme indicated that students appreciate the flexibility and the choice of choosing the tasks and assignment by themselves. The discussion focuses on how the findings from the qualitative research can be used in theory and in the classroom. This research adds to the body of knowledge by offering a sound theoretical framework to facilitate successful academic transition among Uzbekistan international university students.

The research of Internet measurement has promoted the development of router-level topology discovery, while the subnet of the network layer can provide a more detailed intermediate complementary view. To improve the current level of router-level topology discovery, some researchers have proposed subnet discovery methods. However, the existing methods do not perform well in terms of efficiency and accuracy, which leads to the failure of the final resulting topology map. In this paper, we propose a new approach to discover subnets, which consists of a network pre-processing stage and a subnet inference stage. Given a set of target IP prefixes, the network pre-processing stage introduces a minimal probing overhead to improve probing efficiency. Based on the IP address allocation principle, the subnet inference stage utilizes a set of complementary inference rules to infer subnets. The experimental results show that our method can achieve a higher accuracy in discovering subnets while keeping lower probing overhead compared with existing methods. Finally, we utilize the proposed approach to discover the subnets of six geographically dispersed public Autonomous System (AS) networks and analyze their various subnet characteristics, including degree distribution. &nbsp

The ATP responsive P2 purinergic receptors can be subdivided into metabotropic P2X family and ionotropic P2Y family. Among these, P2X3 is a type of P2X receptor which is specifically expressed on nerves, especially on pre-ganglionic sensory fibers. This study investigates whether gefapixant possesses the potential of inhibiting cardiac sympathetic hypersensitivity to protect against cardiac remodeling in the context of myocardial infarction.The Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups: sham group-myocardial infarction group, and myocardial infarction with gefapixant treatment group. Myocardial infarction was induced by left anterior descending branch ligation. The gefapixant solution was intraperitoneally injected each time per day for 7 days and the appropriate dosage of gefapixant was determined according to the results of hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and myocardial injury biomarkers. Conditions of cardiac function were assessed by echocardiograph and cardiac fibrosis was evaluated by Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining of collagen I and collagen III. The sympathetic innervation was detected by norepinephrine concentration (pg/mL), in-vivo electrophysiology, and typical sympathetic biomarkers. Inflammatory cell infiltration was shown from immunofluorescence staining and pro-inflammatory signaling pathway activation was checked by immunohistology, quantitative realtime PCR (qPCR) and Western blotting.It was found that gefapixant injection of 10 mg/kg per day had the highest dosage-efficacy ratio. Furthermore, gefapixant treatment improved cardiac pump function as shown by increased LVEF and LVFS, and decreased LVIDd and LVIDs. The expression levels of collagen I and collagen III, and TNF-α were all decreased by P2X3 inhibition. Mechanistically, the decreased activation of nucleotide-binding and oligomerization domain-like receptors family pyrin-domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome and subsequent cleavage of caspase-1 which modulated interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-18 level in heart after gefapixant treatment were associated with the suppressed cardiac inflammation.It is suggested that P2X3 inhibition by gefapixant ameliorates post-infarct autonomic nervous imbalance, cardiac dysfunction, and remodeling possibly via inactivating NLRP3 inflammasome.

MoS2/MoOx heterojunctions with significantly improved SERS performance were fabricated using ultraviolet irradiation in an ozone atmosphere, and the enhancement mechanism was investigated via energy band analysis.

Identifying genetic determinants of reproductive success may highlight mechanisms underlying fertility and identify alleles under present-day selection. Using data in 785,604 individuals of European ancestry, we identified 43 genomic loci associated with either number of children ever born (NEB) or childlessness. These loci span diverse aspects of reproductive biology, including puberty timing, age at first birth, sex hormone regulation, endometriosis and age at menopause. Missense variants in ARHGAP27 were associated with higher NEB but shorter reproductive lifespan, suggesting a trade-off at this locus between reproductive ageing and intensity. Other genes implicated by coding variants include PIK3IP1, ZFP82 and LRP4, and our results suggest a new role for the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) in reproductive biology. As NEB is one component of evolutionary fitness, our identified associations indicate loci under present-day natural selection. Integration with data from historical selection scans highlighted an allele in the FADS1/2 gene locus that has been under selection for thousands of years and remains so today. Collectively, our findings demonstrate that a broad range of biological mechanisms contribute to reproductive success.

In this paper, we discussed the beamforming schemes for OFDM-based joint sensing and communication (OFDM-JSC) system, which enable JSC system to use directional beams to detect directions of interest, while communicating with one or more downlink users, thus further enhancing the practicability of JSC system. Specifically, we equip OFDM-JSC transmitter with hybrid beamforming structure and digital beamforming structure in SU-MIMO and MU-MISO scenarios, respectively. For SU-MIMO JSC, we separately considered the hybrid beamforming design with partially connected structure and fully connected structure. For MU-MISO JSC, we separately consider the beamforming design with total antenna array transmit power constraint, and per antenna transmit power constraint. For the four non-convex problems in above two scenarios, we have designed corresponding low-complexity JSC beamforming algorithms and we verified the effectiveness of proposed schemes through numerical simulation. &nbsp

Large-scale whole-genome sequencing studies have enabled analysis of noncoding rare-variant (RV) associations with complex human diseases and traits. Variant-set analysis is a powerful approach to study RV association. However, existing methods have limited ability in analyzing the noncoding genome. We propose a computationally efficient and robust noncoding RV association detection framework, STAARpipeline, to automatically annotate a whole-genome sequencing study and perform flexible noncoding RV association analysis, including gene-centric analysis and fixed window-based and dynamic window-based non-gene-centric analysis by incorporating variant functional annotations. In gene-centric analysis, STAARpipeline uses STAAR to group noncoding variants based on functional categories of genes and incorporate multiple functional annotations. In non-gene-centric analysis, STAARpipeline uses SCANG-STAAR to incorporate dynamic window sizes and multiple functional annotations. We apply STAARpipeline to identify noncoding RV sets associated with four lipid traits in 21,015 discovery samples from the Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program and replicate several of them in an additional 9,123 TOPMed samples. We also analyze five non-lipid TOPMed traits.

Depression is the most common form of depressive disorder and is characterised by significant and persistent depression, usually with a prolonged onset (longer than two weeks) and a tendency for recurrent episodes. In today's rapidly developing society, depression is becoming more prevalent at a younger age and therefore research and development of drugs for depression is urgent, but single-target depression treatments are no longer suitable for today's research due to their high cost and toxic side effects. This paper is therefore based on the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor hypothesis and analyses the pathogenesis of depression as well as the receptors and their mechanisms of action.

A prospective study.To develop a simplified Chinese version of Lumbar Spine Instability Questionnaire (SC-LSIQ) and test its measurement properties.The LSIQ has been translated into several languages. Different versions of LSIQ have proved good reliability and validity in evaluating patients with low back pain. However, there is no simplified Chinese version of LSIQ (SC-LSIQ).The SC-LSIQ has been translated into a simplified Chinese version according to a standard procedure. A total of 155 patients with low back pain completed the SC-LSIQ along with Oswestry Disability Index, Roland-Morris disability questionnaire, Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia, and visual analogue scale (VAS). The internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and validity of SC-LSIQ were then calculated to evaluate the measurement properties of SC-LSIQ.The results of SC-LSIQ demonstrated that there was no ceiling or floor effect detected. The Cronbach α coefficient of 0.911 determined a well internal consistency. The intraclass correlation coefficient (0.98) presented an excellent reliability of SC-LSIQ. The Pearson correlation coefficient (r) showed that the SC-LSIQ was excellent correlated to Oswestry Disability Index (r=0.809), Roland-Morris disability questionnaire (r=0.870), and Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (r=0.945,). Furthermore, it moderately correlated to visual analogue scale (r=0.586).The SC-LSIQ features good internal consistency, reliability, and validity for evaluating Chinese patients with LBP. Results suggest that the SC-LSIQ can be appropriately applied to patients with LBP in routine clinical practice.

This study aimed to identify the molecular mechanism underlying NEAT1 regulation of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) autophagy and apoptosis. The expression levels of NEAT1, miR-128-3p, and ADAM28 in NSCLC tissues and cells were examined using qRT-PCR. The relationships between NEAT1, miR-128-3p, and ADAM28 expression levels and prognosis of NSCLC patients were investigated using the Kaplan-Meier analysis method. The interactions between NEAT1, miR-128-3p, and ADAM28 were confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay or FISH assay. Cell proliferation and apoptosis were detected by CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays, respectively. Apoptosis and autophagy-related proteins Bax, cleaved caspase-3, cleaved caspase-9, Bcl-2, LC3, Beclin-1, and p62 were analyzed by western blotting. Finally, an in vivo NSCLC mouse xenograft model was established to confirm the in vitro data. We showed NEAT1 and ADAM28 expression levels were upregulated, while the miR-128-3p level was downregulated in NSCLC tissues and cells. NSCLC patients with high NEAT1 expression levels, low miR-128-3p levels, or high ADAM28 levels had significantly reduced overall survival times. Silencing of NEAT1 inhibited NSCLC cell autophagy and promoted apoptosis by sponging miR-128-3p. MiR-128-3p directly targeted ADAM28 and suppressed ADAM28 expression, which led to deactivation of the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. Furthermore, ADAM28 overexpression attenuated miR-128-3p overexpression-induced apoptosis and autophagy inhibition in NSCLC by increasing the phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3. NEAT1 depletion or miR-128-3p overexpression inhibited autophagy and promoted apoptosis in vivo by suppressing ADAM28. In other word, silencing NEAT1 inhibited autophagy and then promoted NSCLC cell apoptosis by deactivating the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway through regulation of miR-128-3p/ADAM28 axis.

The human deafness, autosomal dominant 5 gene (DFNA5), a newly discovered executor of pyroptosis, has been strongly implicated in the tumorigenesis of several human cancers. However, an understanding of the functional role of DFNA5 in the development and progression of colorectal cancer (CRC) is limited. In this study, we demonstrated that DFNA5 was downregulated in CRC tissues. Ectopic expression of DFNA5 inhibited tumor cell growth in vitro, retarded tumor formation in vivo, and blocked a cell-cycle transition from the G0/G1 to the S phase, whereas a DFNA5 knockdown promoted cell proliferation. Western blotting showed that the levels of cell cycle-related proteins, including cyclin D1, cyclin E, CDK2, and p21, were accordingly altered upon DFNA5 overexpression or DFNA5 knockdown. Mechanistic studies indicated that DFNA5 exerted its tumor suppressor functions by antagonizing mTORC1/2 signaling via upregulation of DEPTOR. In addition, blockage of mTORC1/2 signaling by Torin-1 abolished the accelerative proliferation by DFNA5 knockdown. In conclusion, these results indicated that DFNA5 inhibits the proliferation and tumor formation of colon cancer cells by suppressing mTORC1/2 signaling.

The endothelial cell (EC) outgrowth in both vasculogenesis and angiogenesis starts with remodeling surrounding matrix and proceeds with the crosstalk between cells for the multicelluar vasculature formation. Althought the mechanical plasticity of matrix has been recognized to regulate individual cell behaviors through plastic remodeling, it remains elusive how matrix plasticity impacts cell-to-cell interplay during EC outgrowth and the underlying molecular pathways. Here we developed a collagen-hyaluronic acid based hydrogel platform with tunable plasticity independent of stiffness, by using compositing strategy of dynamic and covalent crosslinks. We show that the increasing plasticity of the hydrogel networks facilitates the matrix remodeling by ECs, thus promoting the process of individual sprouting and branching during vasculogenesis. However, the lagest tubular lumens and the longest invading distance from EC spheoid unexpectedly appear in hydrogels with medium plasticity instead of the highest ones. We unravel that althought the high plasticity of the hydrogels promotes stable integrin cluster of ECs and recruitment of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) with an increase in cell contractility, while the overenhanced contractility downregulates the vascular endothelial calmodulin (VE-CAD) expression and destabilizes the adherens junctions between individual ECs in vasculogenesis (or stalk and tip ECs in angiogenesis). Our results, further validated with mathematical simulations and in vivo angiogenic tests, demonstrate that a balance of matrix plasticity facilitates both cell-matrix binding and cell-to-cell adherens, for promoting vascular assembly and invasion.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease with progressive cartilage erosion and joint destruction. Synovial fibroblasts (SFs) play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of RA. This study aims to explore the function and mechanism of CD5L during RA progression. We examined the levels of CD5L in synovial tissues and SFs. The collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rat models were used to investigate the effect of CD5L on RA progression. We also investigated the effects of exogenous CD5L on the behavior and activity of RA synovial fibroblasts (RASFs). Our results showed that CD5L expression was significantly upregulated in synovium of RA patients and CIA-rats. Histology and Micro-CT analysis showed that synovial inflammation and bone destruction were more severe in CD5L-treated CIA rats compared with control rats. Correspondingly, CD5L blockade alleviated bone damage and synovial inflammation in CIA-rats. The exogenous CD5L treatment promoted RASFs proliferation invasion and proinflammatory cytokine production. Knockdown of CD5L receptor by siRNA significantly reversed the effect of CD5L treatment on RASFs. Moreover, we observed that CD5L treatment potentiated PI3K/Akt signaling in the RASFs. The promoted effects of CD5L on IL-6 and IL-8 expression were significantly reversed by PI3K/Akt signaling inhibitor. In conclusion, CD5L promote RA disease progression via activating RASFs. CD5L blocking is a potential therapeutic approach for RA patients.

Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) has been shown to improve both sensitivity and specificity for breast cancer detection compared to full-field digital mammography. However, its performance could be limited for patients with dense breasts. Clinical DBT systems vary in their system designs, one of which is the acquisition angular range (AR), which leads to varied performance for different imaging tasks. In this study, we aim to compare DBT systems with different AR. We used a previously validated cascaded linear system model to investigate the dependence of in-plane breast structural noise (BSN) and detectability of masses on AR. We conducted a pilot clinical study to compare the lesion conspicuity between clinical DBT systems with the narrowest and the widest AR. Patients called back for diagnostic imaging on suspicious findings were imaged with both narrow-angle (NA) and wide-angle (WA) DBT. We analyzed the BSN for clinical images using noise power spectrum (NPS) analysis. A 5-point Likert scale was used in the reader study to compare the lesion conspicuity. Our theoretical calculation results show that increasing AR leads to reduced BSN and improved mass detectability. The NPS analysis on clinical images shows the lowest BSN for WA DBT. The WA DBT provides better lesion conspicuity for masses and asymmetries and shows a greater advantage for non-microcalcification lesions in dense breasts. The NA DBT provides better characterizations for microcalcifications. The WA DBT can downgrade false-positive findings seen on NA DBT. In conclusion, WA DBT could improve the detection of masses and asymmetries for patients with dense breasts.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic skin disease caused by skin immune dyshomeostasis and accompanied by severe pruritus. Although oxidative stress and mechanical scratching can aggravate AD inflammation, treatment targeting scratching is often overlooked, and the efficiency of mechano-chemically synergistic therapy remains unclear. Here, we find that enhanced phosphorylation of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is associated with scratch-exacerbated AD. We then develop a multifunctional hydrogel dressing that integrates oxidative stress modulation with FAK inhibition to synergistically treat AD. We show that the adhesive, self-healing and antimicrobial hydrogel is suitable for the unique scratching and bacterial environment of AD skin. We demonstrate that it can scavenge intracellular reactive oxygen species and reduce mechanically induced intercellular junction deficiency and inflammation. Furthermore, in mouse AD models with controlled scratching, we find that the hydrogel alleviates AD symptoms, rebuilds the skin barrier, and inhibits inflammation. These results suggest that the hydrogel integrating reactive oxygen species scavenging and FAK inhibition could serve as a promising skin dressing for synergistic AD treatment.

Background and objectiveThe optimal treatment for patients with symptomatic non-acute atherosclerotic intracranial large artery occlusion (ILAO) despite medical treatment is not well established. We aimed to assess the safety, efficacy, and feasibility of angioplasty and stenting for these patients.MethodsA total of 251 consecutive patients with symptomatic non-acute atherosclerotic ILAO treated with interventional recanalization were retrospectively collected in our center from March 2015 to August 2021. The rate of successful recanalization, perioperative complications, and follow-up outcomes were evaluated.ResultsSuccessful recanalization was achieved in 88.4% (222/251) of the patients. A total of 24 (24/251, 9.6%) symptomatic complications occurred among 251 procedures. In the 193 patients with clinical follow-up during 19.0 ± 14.7 months, 11 (11/193, 5.7%) patients developed ischemic stroke and four (4/193, 2.1%) patients developed transient ischemic attack (TIA). In the 106 patients with vascular imaging follow-up during 6.8 ± 6.6 months, seven (7/106, 6.6%) patients had restenosis and 10 (10/106, 9.4%) patients had reocclusion.ConclusionThis study suggests that interventional recanalization may be a feasible, basically safe, and an effective alternative in carefully selected patients with symptomatic non-acute atherosclerotic ILAO who have failed medical management.

Hard turning has become an attractive method of machining for most manufacturers in the last few years due to its low cost and superior surface quality compared to grinding. In this experimental study, the machinability of hardened steel under dry machining on a CNC lathe is undertaken to optimize the cutting parameters for minimum surface roughness and energy consumption with the cutting speed (320, 450, and 575), tool type (coated and uncoated), and feed rate (0.1, 0.18, and 0.26) as the input parameters. The Taguchi method, based on the L18 orthogonal array, the variance analysis, the signal-to-noise ratios, and the response surface methodology have been used to optimize surface roughness (Ra) and cutting power (Cp). Optimum cutting parameters and levels were determined, and the relationship between cutting parameters and output variables was analyzed with the aid of two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics. The results show that the most effective parameter on the surface roughness was the tool type (78%), while the most effective parameter on energy consumption was the cutting speed (90%). The combination of low feed rate and high cutting speed is necessary for minimizing the surface roughness. Besides, the impact of two-factor interactions of the feed rate-cutting speed and depth of cut-cutting speed appears to be substantial. The linear regression models were validated using confirmation tests. Finally, regression coefficients were determined as a mathematical model, and it was observed that this estimated model yielded results that were very similar to those achieved via real experiment (correlation values: 97.64% for surface roughness and 98.72% for energy consumption).

To efficiently implement space debris removal missions on geostationary Earth orbit (GEO), a scheduling optimization scheme of multiple hybrid-propulsive servicing spacecraft (SSc) is proposed. In this scheme, a many-to-many task allocation coding model is established to formulate the removal sequences of debris targets with respect to different SSc. And a hybrid-propulsive orbit transfer strategy is developed to implement the debris removal maneuvers to save the propellant consumption and removal time simultaneously via using both electric and chemical propulsion systems. Then, the multiple GEO space debris removal scheduling optimization problem is formulated to minimize the total propellant consumption by exploring the optimal removal sequences and orbit maneuver parameters, subject to the available velocity increment, removal time, and many-to-many task allocation constraints. To effectively solve the scheduling optimization problem involving discrete-continuous mixed variables, a clustering based adaptive differential evolution algorithm with potential individual reservation (CADE-PIR) is proposed. In CADE-PIR, the k-means clustering method and potential individual reservation mutation strategy are employed to promote the convergence rate and performance of exploration and exploitation. In the end, a real-world GEO space debris removal mission with multiple SSc is investigated to demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed optimization scheme.

Cervical cancer ranks third in cancer incidence worldwide and is the most frequent gynecological cancer in developing countries. To expore the molecular mechanism of cervical cancer and to find effective treatment have become the focus of medical workers. CD73 has been implicated in the progression of many cancers. However, the study of CD73 in cervical cancer has not been reported. The aim of this study was to identify the effect and mechanism of CD73 overexpression on cervical cancer growthCervical cancer cell models with CD73 overexpression were construction by using lentiviruses infection in Hela and SiHa cells. Cell's proliferation was investigated by using xCELLigence real-time cell analysis (RTCA) system. With the mining depth of coal resources increasing, the thickness of traditional lining for deep mines becomes large. The bearing capacity of the outer lining cannot be fully utilized, so a new type of functionally graded lining structure (FGL) with radial Young’s modulus varying in gradient is proposed. In this study, through theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the mechanical properties of the functionally graded lining were studied, including the characteristics of the elastic working state and the ultimate bearing state. The influences of the structural parameters of the functionally graded lining, including the inner radius, the thickness, Young’s modulus, the compressive strength of the concrete, Poisson’s ratio, and the number of layers on the mechanical properties were analyzed. The calculation formula of the ultimate bearing capacity of the lining and the calculation formula of the maximum tangential strain at the time of lining failure were put forward. The accuracy of the formula was verified by comparing with the numerical simulation results. The research results provide the basis for the construction of the design theory of a functionally graded lining structure and have great engineering significance for the construction of the kilometer-deep mines in the future.

This study aims to discuss whether the baroreflex is regulated by the music with 0.1 Hz oscillations and determine which musical component most elicits the baroreflex control. We had the subjects listen to the music with 0.1 Hz oscillation (in either chords or rhythm) and the same music without 0.1 Hz oscillation. The power of the extracted components up to 0.1 Hz significantly increased blood pressure (BP) at p < 0.05regardless of which music they listened to. However, the coherence between BP and heart rate fluctuations up to 0.1 Hz increased significantly (p < 0.01) only when listening to the music with continuous riffs up to 0.1 Hz. The results implied that properly applied repetitive riffs of music improve the baroreflex regulation.

Ti-Si composite ceramic coating containing SiO2 particles was prepared on 45 steel substrate by in-situ laser pyrolysis with laser power of 600W and laser wavelength of 980nm. The density and wear resistance of the composite ceramic coating were improved. By means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), reciprocating friction and wear tester, the element composition, existing forms, surface morphology and friction and wear properties of Ti-Si composite ceramic coatings with different mass fraction of SiO2 particles were analyzed. The results show that the addition of SiO2 particles can improve the surface density and inorganic degree of the composite ceramic coating. When the mass fraction of SiO2 is 1% and the load is 1N, the friction coefficient of the composite ceramic coating is 61% lower than that of 45 steel. When the mass fraction of SiO2 is 5% and the load is 3N, the friction coefficient of the composite ceramic coating is 51% lower than that of 45 steel. The composite ceramic coatings show good antifriction performance and wear resistance.

Currently, sustainable business performance has become the global requirement due to the recent economic disaster, and green measures have been considered the leading solution for it. This situation has gained the attention of recent literature and regulators; thus, the present study examined the green transformational leadership (GTL), human resource management (HRM), and innovation on the sustainable business performance of the manufacturing organizations in China. The moderating impact of perceived organizational support among the association of GTL, green HRM, green innovation, and sustainable business performance of the manufacturing organizations in China was also investigated. The questionnaires method was adopted to collect data, and the smart-PLS was used to test the hypotheses. The results indicated that GTL, green HRM, and green innovation have a significant and direct association with the sustainable business performance of the manufacturing organizations in China. The outcomes also revealed that organizational support significantly moderates among the nexus of GTL, green HRM, green innovation, and sustainable business performance of the manufacturing organizations in China. The current research provides help to the regulators while formulating policies and guides the new researchers while examining this topic in the future.

BACKGROUND: A wide range of diseases, such as systemic sclerosis, can be diagnosed by imaging the nailfold microcirculation, which is conventionally performed using capillaroscopy. This study applied optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) as a novel high resolution imaging method for the qualitative and quantitative assessment of the nailfold microvasculature, and compared OCTA imaging with capillaroscopy. METHODS: For qualitative assessment, high resolution OCTA imaging was used to achieve images that contained a wide field of view of the nailfold microvasculature through mosaic scanning. OCTA imaging was also used to observe the characteristic changes in the microvasculature under external compression of the upper arm. For quantitative evaluation, the capillary density and the capillary diameter of the nailfold microvasculature were assessed with both OCTA and capillaroscopy by repeated measurements over 2 days in 13 normal subjects. The results were analyzed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). RESULTS: OCTA imaging showed the typical nailfold microvasculature pattern, part of which was not directly seen with the capillaroscopy. OCTA imaging revealed significant changes in the nailfold microvasculature when a large external pressure was applied via arm compression, but no significant changes were observed using capillaroscopy. The capillary density measured by OCTA and capillaroscopy was 6.8±1.5 and 7.0±1.2 loops/mm, respectively, which was not significantly different (P=0.51).
