- Abstract
We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S) resonance into a final state consisting of a photon and two K0s candidates. We find evidence for a signal for Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K0sK0s, at a rate (4.0+/-1.3+/-0.6)x10^{-5}, consistent with previous observations of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525); f_2'(1525)->K+K-, and isospin. Combining this branching fraction with existing branching fraction measurements of Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525) and J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525), we obtain the ratio of branching fractions: B(Upsilon(1S)->gamma f_2'(1525))/B(J/psi->gamma f_2'(1525))=0.09+/-0.02, approximately consistent with expectations based on soft collinear effective theory.

Using a sample of 2.59x10{sup 7} {psi}(2S) decays collected by the CLEO-c detector, we present results of a study of {chi}{sub cJ} (J=0, 1, 2) decays into baryon-antibaryon final states. We present the world's most precise measurements of the {chi}{sub cJ}{yields}pp and {chi}{sub cJ}{yields}{lambda}{lambda} branching fractions, and the first measurements of {chi}{sub c0} decays to other hyperons. These results illuminate the decay mechanism of the {chi}{sub c} states.

- Abstract
Using (9.32, 5.88) million Y(2S; 3S) decays taken with the CLEO III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes Y(2S) -> gamma chi(b0,1,2)(1P) -> gamma gamma Y(1S) and Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b1,2)(1P) -> gamma gamma Y(1S). We observe the transition chi(b0)(1P) -> yY(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[Y2S) -> gamma chi(bJ)(1P)], we extract values for B[chi(bJ)(1P) -> gamma Y(1S)] for J = 0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the Y(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b1,2)(1P)] for the first time individually. Comparison of these with each other and with the branching fraction B[Y(3S) -> gamma chi(b0)] previously measured by CLEO provides tests of relativistic corrections to electric dipole matrix elements.

Decays of $_{c1}$ to vector meson pairs $$, $$ and $$ are observed for the first time using $(106\pm4)\times 10^6$ $\psip$ events accumulated at the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ collider. The branching fractions are measured to be $(4.4\pm 0.3\pm 0.5)\times 10^{-4}$, $(6.0\pm 0.3\pm 0.7)\times 10^{-4}$, and $(2.2\pm 0.6\pm 0.2)\times 10^{-5}$, for $_{c1}\to $, $$, and $$, respectively. The observation of $_{c1}$ decays into a pair of vector mesons $$, $$ and $$ indicates that the hadron helicity selection rule is significantly violated in $_{cJ}$ decays. In addition, the measurement of $_{cJ}\to $ gives the rate of doubly OZI-suppressed decay. Branching fractions for $_{c0}$ and $_{c2}$ decays into other vector meson pairs are also measured with improved precision., 4 pages, 2 figures

- Abstract
We report the first determination of the relative strong-phase difference between D-0 -> K-S,L(0) K+K- and (D) over bar (0) -> K-S,L(0) K+K-. In addition, we present updated measurements of the relative strong-phase difference between D-0 -> K-S,L(0) pi(+)pi(-) and (D) over bar (0) -> K-S,L(0) pi(+)pi(-). Both measurements exploit the quantum coherence between a pair of D-0 and (D) over bar (0) mesons produced from psi(3770) decays. The strong-phase differences measured are important for determining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma/phi(3) in B- -> K- (D) over tilde (0) decays, where (D) over tilde (0) is a D-0 or (D) over bar (0) meson decaying to K(S)(0)h(+)h(-) (h = pi, K), in a manner independent of the model assumed to describe the D-0 -> K(S)(0)h(+)h(-) decay. Using our results, the uncertainty in gamma/phi(3) due to the error on the strong-phase difference is expected to be between 1.7 degrees and 3.9 degrees for an analysis using B- -> K- (D) over tilde (0), (D) over tilde (0) -> K-S(0) pi(+)pi(-) decays, and between 3.2 degrees and 3.9 degrees for an analysis based on B- -> K- -> (D) over tilde (0), (D) over tilde (0) -> K-S(0) K+K- decays. A measurement is also presented of the CP-odd fraction, F-, of the decay D-0 -> K-S(0) K+K- in the region of the phi -> K+K- resonance. We find that in a region within 0.01 GeV2/c(4) of the nominal phi mass squared F- > 0.91 at the 90% confidence level.

- Abstract
We have searched for flavor-changing neutral current decays and lepton-number-violating decays of D+ and D-s(+) mesons to final states of the form h(perpendicular to)e(-/+)e(+), where h is either pi or K. We use the complete samples of CLEO-c open-charm data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 818 pb(-1) at the center-of-mass energy E-CM = 3.774 GeV containing 2.4 x 10(6) D+D- pairs and 602 pb(-1) at E-CM 4.170 GeV containing 0.6 x 10(6) D-s(*+/-) D-s(-/+) pairs. No signal is observed in any channel, and we obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on branching fractions B(D+ -> pi(+)e(+)e(-)) < 5.9 x 10(-6), B(D+ -> pi(-)e(+)e(-)) < 1.1 x 10(-6), B(D+ -> K(+)e(+)e(-)) < 3.0 x 10(-6), B(D+ -> K(+)e(+)e(-)) < 3.5 x 10(-6), B(D-s(+) -> pi(+)e(+)e(-)) < 2.2 x 10(-5), B(D-s(+) -> pi(+)e(+)e(-)) < 1.8 x 10(-5), B(D-s(+) -> K(+)e(+)e(-)) < 5.2 x 10(-5), and B(D-s(+) -> K(-)e(+)e(+)) < 1.7 x 10(-5).

The decays of psi(2S) into gamma p (p) over bar, pi(0)p (p) over bar, and eta p (p) over bar have been studied with the CLEO-c detector using a sample of 24.5 X 10(6) psi(2S) events obtained from e(+)e(-) annihilations at root s = 3686 MeV. The data show evidence for the excitation of several N* resonances in p pi(0) and p eta channels in pi(0)p (p) over bar and eta p (p) over bar decays, and f(2) states in gamma p (p) over bar decay. Branching fractions for decays of c psi(2S) to gamma p (p) over bar, pi(0)p (p) over bar, and eta p (p) over bar have been determined. No evidence for p (p) over bar threshold enhancements was found in the reactions psi(2S) -> Xp (p) over bar where X = gamma, pi(0), eta. We do, however, find confirming evidence for a p (p) over bar threshold enhancement in J/psi -> gamma p (p) over bar as previously reported by BES.

- Abstract
Using a sample of 25.9 x 10(6) psi(2S) decays acquired with the CLEO-c detector at the CESR e(+)e(-) collider, we report branching fractions for the decays chi(cJ) -> p (p) over bar pi(0), p (p) over bar eta, and p (p) over bar omega, with J = 0, 1, 2. Our results for B(chi(cJ) -> p (p) over bar pi(0)) and B(chi(cJ) -> p (p) over bar eta) are consistent with, but more precise than, previous measurements. Furthermore, we include the first measurement of B(chi(cJ) -> p (p) over bar omega).

High Energy Physics::Experiment - Abstract
Using a large sample (approximate to 11800 events) of D+ -> K-pi(+)e(+)nu(e) and D+ -> K-pi(+)mu(+)nu(mu) decays collected by the CLEO-c detector running at the psi(3770), we measure the helicity basis form factors free from the assumptions of spectroscopic pole dominance and provide new, accurate measurements of the absolute branching fractions for D+ -> *(0)e(+)nu(e) D+ -> *(0)mu(+)nu(mu) decays. We find branching fractions which are consistent with previous world averages. Our measured helicity basis form factors are consistent with the spectroscopic pole dominance predictions for the three main helicity basis form factors describing D+ -> (K) over bar*(0)l(+)nu(l) decay. The ability to analyze D+ -> K-pi(+)mu(+)nu(mu) allows us to make the first nonparametric measurements of the mass-suppressed form factor. Our result is inconsistent with existing lattice QCD calculations. Finally, we measure the form factor that controls nonresonant s-wave interference with the D+ -> (K) over bar (0)l(+)nu(l) amplitude and search for evidence of possible additional nonresonant d- or f-wave interference with the K*(0).

High Energy Physics::Experiment - Abstract
A search for J/psi radiative decay to weakly interacting neutral final states was performed using the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. J/psi events were selected by observing the hadronic decay psi(2S) -> pi(+)pi(-) J/psi. A total of 3.7 x 10(6) J/psi events were used to study the decay J/psi -> gamma + X, where X is a narrow state that is invisible to the detector. No significant signal was observed, and upper limits on the branching fraction were set for masses m(X) up to 960 MeV/c(2). The upper limit corresponding to m(X) = 0 is 4.3 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level.

- Abstract
We have measured the inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of D-0, D+, and D-s(+) mesons. For these measurements, we have used the full CLEO-c open-charm data samples, 818 pb(-1) at E-CM = 3.774 GeV, giving D-0(D) over bar (0) and D+D- events, and 602 pb(-1) at E-CM = 4.170 GeV, giving D-s*D-+/-(s)-/+ events. We obtain B(D-0 -> Xe+nu(e)) = (6.46 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.11)%, B(D+ -> Xe+nu(e)) = (16.13 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.29)%, and B(D-s(+) -> Xe+nu(e)) = (6.52 +/- 0.39 +/- 0.15)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. From these and lifetimes obtained elsewhere, we obtain the ratios of semileptonic decay widths Gamma(D+ -> Xe+nu(e))/Gamma(D-0 -> Xe+nu(e)) = 0.985 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.024 and Gamma(D-s(+) -> Xe+nu(e))/Gamma(D-0 -> Xe+nu(e)) = 0.828 +/- 0.051 +/- 0.025. The ratio of D+ and D-0 is consistent with the isospin symmetry prediction of unity, and the ratio of D-s(+) and D-0 differs from unity, as expected.

Using data collected on the psi(3770) resonance and near the D-s*D-+/-(s)-/+ peak production energy by the CLEO-c detector, we study the decays of the possible D -> PP modes and report measurements of or upper limits on all branching fractions for Cabibbo-favored, singly Cabibbo-suppressed, and doubly Cabibbo-suppressed D -> PP decays except modes involving K-L(0) (and except D-0 -> K+pi(-)). We normalize with respect to the Cabibbo-favored D modes, D-0 -> K-pi(+), D+ -> K-pi(+)pi(+), and D-s(+) -> (K+KS0).

We report evidence for the ground state of bottomonium, eta(b)(1S), in the radiative decay Gamma(3S) -> gamma eta(b) in e(+)e(-) annihilation data taken with the CLEO III detector. Using 6 X 10(6) Gamma(dS) decays, and assuming Gamma(eta(b)) = 10 +/- 5 MeV/c(2), we obtain B(Gamma(3S) -> gamma eta(b)) = (7.1 +/- 1.8 +/- 1.3) X 10(-4), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The statistical significance is -4 sigma. The mass is determined to be M(eta(b)) = 9391.8 +/- 6.6 +/- 2.0 MeV/c(2), which corresponds to the hyperfine splitting Delta M-hf(1S)(b) = 68.5 +/- 6.6 +/- 2.0 MeV/c(2). Using 9 X 10(6) Gamma(2S) decays, we place an upper limit on the corresponding Gamma(2S) decay, B(Gamma(2S) -> gamma eta(b)) < 8.4 X 10(-4) at 90% confidence level.

Using 9.32, 5.88 million Upsilon(2S,3S) decays taken with the CLEO-III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes Upsilon(2S) => gamma chi_{b0,1,2}(1P) => gamma gamma Upsilon(1S) and Upsilon(3S) => gamma chi_{b1,2}(1P) => gamma gamma Upsilon(1S). We observe the transition chi_{b0}(1P) => gamma Upsilon(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[Upsilon(2S) => gamma chi_{bJ}(1P)], we extract values for B[chi_{bJ}(1P) => gamma Upsilon(1S)] for J=0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the Upsilon(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[Upsilon(3S) => gamma chi_{b1,2}(1P) for the first time individually. Comparison of these with each other and with the branching fraction B[Upsilon(3S) => gamma chi_{b0}] previously measured by CLEO provides tests of relativistic corrections to electric dipole matrix elements., 22 pages, 6 figures, version published in Physical Review D

We report the first observation of the decay D^+ -> eta' e^+ nu_e in two analyses, which combined provide a branching fraction of B(D+ -> eta' e nu) = (2.16 +/- 0.53 +/- 0.07) x 10^{-4}. We also provide an improved measurement of B(D+ -> eta e nu) = (11.4 +/- 0.9 +/- 0.4) x 10^{-4}, provide the first form factor measurement, and set the improved upper limit B(D+ -> phi e nu) < 0.9 x 10^{-4} (90% C.L.)., 15 pages, 6 figures, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, submitted to PRD. We report the first determination of the relative strong-phase difference between D^0 -> K^0_S,L K^+ K^- and D^0-bar -> K^0_S,L K^+ K^-. In addition, we present updated measurements of the relative strong-phase difference between D^0 -> K^0_S,L pi^+ pi^- and D^0-bar -> K^0_S,L pi^+ pi^-. Both measurements exploit the quantum coherence between a pair of D^0 and D^0-bar mesons produced from psi(3770) decays. The strong-phase differences measured are important for determining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma/phi_3 in B^- -> K^- D^0-tilde decays, where D^0-tilde is a D^0 or D^0-bar meson decaying to K^0_S h^+ h^- (h=pi,K), in a manner independent of the model assumed to describe the D^0 -> K^0_S h^+ h^- decay. Using our results, the uncertainty in gamma/phi_3 due to the error on the strong-phase difference is expected to be between 1.7 and 3.9 degrees for an analysis using B^- K^- D^0-tilde D^0-tilde -> K^0_S pi^+ pi^- decays, and between 3.2 and 3.9 degrees for an analysis based on B^- -> K^- D^0-tilde, D^0-tilde -> K^0_S K^+ K^- decays. A measurement is also presented of the CP-odd fraction, F_-, of the decay D^0 -> K^0_S K^+ K^- in the region of the phi -> K^+ K^- resonance. We find that in a region within 0.01 GeV^2/c^4 of the nominal phi mass squared F_- > 0.91 at the 90% confidence level., 60 pages also available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, accepted for publication in PRD

Using a sample of 25.9 million psi(2S) decays acquired with the CLEO-c detector at the CESR e^+e^- collider, we report branching fractions for the decays chi_cJ -> p p-bar pi^0, p p-bar eta, and p p-bar omega, with J=0,1,2. Our results for B(chi_cJ-> p p-bar pi^0) and B(chi_cJ-> p p-bar eta) are consistent with, but more precise than, previous measurements. Furthermore, we include the first measurement of B(chi_cJ-> p p-bar omega)., 11 pages, 5 figures, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, submitted to PRD(R)

We measure the absolute branching fractions of $\Ds$ semileptonic decays where the hadron in the final state is one of $\phi$, $\eta$, $\etap$, $\Ks$, $\Kstar$, and $f_0$, using $2.8 \times 10^5$ $\epm \to \Ds\Dsstar$ decays collected in the CLEO-c detector at a center-of-mass energy close to 4170 MeV. We obtain ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to \phi e^+ \nu_e) =(2.29\pm 0.37 \pm 0.11)$%, ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to \eta e^+ \nu_e) =(2.48 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.13)$%, ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to \etap e^+ \nu_e) =(0.91 \pm 0.33 \pm 0.05)$%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. We also obtain ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to K^0 e^+ \nu_e) =(0.37\pm 0.10 \pm 0.02)$%, and ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to K^{\star 0} e^+ \nu_e) =(0.18 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.01)$%, which are the first measurements of Cabibbo suppressed exclusive $\Ds$ semileptonic decays, and, ${\cal B}(\Dsp\to f_0 e^+ \nu_e) \times {\cal B}(f_0 \to \pip\pim) =(0.13\pm 0.04 \pm 0.01)$%. This is the first direct evidence of a semileptonic decay including a scalar meson in the final state., Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures, revised version, improved figures and added text

We report evidence for the ground state of bottomonium, eta_b(1S), in the radiative decay Upsilon(3S) --> gamma eta_b in e^+e^- annihilation data taken with the CLEO III detector. Using 6 million Upsilon(3S) decays, and assuming Gamma(eta_b) = 10 MeV/c^2, we obtain B(Upsilon(3S) --> gamma eta_b) = (7.1 +- 1.8 +- 1.1) X 10^{-4}, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The statistical significance is about 4 sigma. The mass is determined to be M(eta_b) = 9391.8 +- 6.6 +- 2.0 MeV/c^2, which corresponds to the hyperfine splitting Delta M_{hf}(1S)_b = 68.5 +- 6.6 +- 2.0 MeV/c^2. Using 9 million Upsilon(2S) decays, we place an upper limit on the corresponding Y(2S) decay, B(Y(2S) --> gamma eta_b) < 8.4 X 10^{-4} at 90 % confidence level., 10 pages, 3 figures, accepted by Phyical Review D Rapid Communications

- Abstract
Using 2.45x10;{7} psi(2S) decays collected with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring we present the most precise measurements of magnetic dipole transitions in the charmonium system. We measure B(psi(2S)--gammaeta_{c})=(4.32+/-0.16+/-0.60)x10;{-3}, B(J/psi--gammaeta_{c})/B(psi(2S)--gammaeta_{c})=4.59+/-0.23+/-0.64, and B(J/psi--gammaeta_{c})=(1.98+/-0.09+/-0.30)%. We observe a distortion in the eta_{c} line shape due to the photon-energy dependence of the magnetic dipole transition rate. We find that measurements of the eta_{c} mass are sensitive to the line shape, suggesting an explanation for the discrepancy between measurements of the eta_{c} mass in radiative transitions and other production mechanisms.

We study the inclusive decays of Ds+ mesons, using data collected near the Ds*+ Ds- peak production energy E_cm=4170 MeV by the CLEO-c detector. We report the inclusive yields of Ds+ decays to K^+ X, K^- X, KS0 X, pi^+ X, pi^- X, pi^0 X, eta X, eta' X, phi X, omega X and f0(980) X, and also decays into pairs of kaons, Ds+ -> KK-bar X. Using these measurements, we obtain an overview of Ds+ decays., 13 pages, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, submitted to PRD

- Abstract
We search for a non-SM-like CP-odd Higgs boson (a10) decaying to τ+τ- or μ+μ- in radiative decays of the Υ(1S). No significant signal is found, and upper limits on the product branching ratios are set. Our τ+τ- results are almost 2 orders of magnitude more stringent than previous upper limits. Our data provide no evidence for a Higgs state with a mass of 214 MeV decaying to μ+μ-, previously proposed as an explanation for 3 Σ+→pμ+μ- events observed by the HyperCP experiment. Our results constrain NMSSM models. © 2008 The American Physical Society.
