Based on a phylogenetic analysis using implied weighting for 59 taxa and 155 morphological characters, we provided a taxonomic revision for Acuera. The genus was recovered as polyphyletic; herein we described three new genera and 16 new species, and proposed 23 new combinations, a new status and four new synonyms for Gyponini. Coarctana gen. nov. is described to include 15 species: C. rana (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov. (type species) transferred from Acuera; five species transferred from Curtara, C. apena (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., C. pedica (DeLong) comb. nov., C. punctata (Spångberg) comb. nov., C. secara (DeLong & Triplehorn) comb. nov., and C. serpenta (DeLong) comb. nov.; and nine new species, C. asymmetrica sp. nov., C. glabra sp. nov., C. nigromedia sp. nov., C. occultata sp. nov., C. oricula sp. nov., C. parvula sp. nov., C. striata sp. nov., C. taurina sp. nov., and C. vilavelha sp. nov. Effossana gen. nov. includes eight species: two species transferred from Acuera, E. gloma (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov. (type species) and E. fructa (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov.; two species transferred from Curtara, E. gatuna (DeLong & Wolda) comb. nov. and E. scapa (DeLong) comb. nov.; and four new species, E. assimulata sp. nov., E. circumnota sp. nov., E. intrinseca sp. nov., and E. tenuemarginata sp. nov. A new monotypic genus, Propincurtara gen. nov., is described to include P. longilinea sp. nov. The subgenus Parcana is raised to genus rank, comprising nine species: P. atitlana (Fowler) comb. nov., P. concilia (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., P. extara (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., P. mimica (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., P. spreta (Fowler) comb. nov., and P. ultima (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov. (type species); also three species transferred from Curtara, P. albororata (Fowler) comb. nov., P. animosa (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., and P. ventusa (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov. Curtara lineatana DeLong & Freytag is a junior synonym of P. concilia (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., Acuera inlustra DeLong & Freytag is a junior synonym of Hamana manifesta DeLong, and A. culmena DeLong & Freytag and A. prodiga DeLong & Freytag are synonyms of A. menaca DeLong & Freytag. Four species of Acuera are transferred to Curtara: C. facera (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., C. labella (Osborn) comb. nov., C. nama (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov., and C. patula (DeLong & Freytag) comb. nov. Two new species, A. extenuata sp. nov. and A. umbra sp. nov. are described and placed in the subgenus Acuera. We provide descriptions and illustrations of the new taxa, redescription of the type species of the genera Acuera, Coarctana gen. nov., Effossana gen. nov., and Parcana stat. nov., 40 new country and Brazilian states records, and key to males of each genus.

All cavernicolous species of the millipede family Trichopolydesmidae from the Carpathian-Balkan arch and the Rhodope Mountains have been reviewed. At present the family has been shown to comprise five or six genera with eight or nine species. Two new genera have been described, viz., Balkanodesminusgen. nov., with two new species: B. dentatoidessp. nov. and B. serbicussp. nov., from Bulgaria and Serbia, respectively, and the monospecific Rhodopodesmusgen. nov., with R. niveussp. nov., from Bulgaria. Two new combinations and one new status have been proposed: Balkanodesminus bulgaricus (Strasser, 1962) comb. nov. ex Bacillidesmus bulgaricus Strasser, 1962 and Balkanodesminus dentatus (Strasser, 1966a) comb. nov., stat. nov. ex Bacillidesmus bulgaricus dentatus Strasser, 1966a. All genera and species are diagnosed with the inclusion of the most relevant remarks for each of them. Old museum types are checked for Bacillidesmus filiformis (Latzel, 1884) with lectotype designation, as well as for Trichopolydesmus eremitis Verhoeff, 1898. An identification key to all six genera and a distribution map for the eight species are provided, as well as brief remarks and general considerations on the family Trichopolydesmidae.

[EN]: Poecilocampa navalagamellae Expósito, 2004 stat. nov., endemic to Spain, is characterized and elevated to species rank. This taxon was originally described as a subspecies of Poecilocampa alpina (Frey & Wullschlegel, 1874) with insufficient diagnosis based on two male specimens only. Its southern populations are described as Poecilocampa navalagamellae turdetana ssp. nov. Notes on external morphology of the imago, genitalia, chorionic structure of the egg, habitat and host plant are presented herein, as well as ab ovo breeding results of P.n. turdetana. An actualised distribution map is provided. According to the results obtained from the study of mitochondrial DNA barcoding, P. navalagamellae belongs to a lineage well differentiated from the rest of the European Poecilocampa Stephens, 1828 taxa. It also differs from these in the wing pattern, the male genitalia, the chorionic structure of the egg and the larval external traits., [ES]: Se redescribe y se eleva al rango de especie Poecilocampa navalagamellae Expósito, 2004 stat. nov., endémica de España. This paper reports 13 Aricidea species from the Sea of Mannara. the Aricidea specimens were collected at 98 stations in the region in 2012 and 2013 from soft and hard substrata at depths ranging from 0 to 1200 in. Among the material, two new species, namely Aricidea (Acmira) katzmanni n. sp. and Aricidea (Acmira) pseudoassimilis n. sp., and 11 known species were discovered. Aricidea mirunekoa and A. bulbosa are new records for the Mediterranean fauna; A. (Acmira) annae and A. (Aricidea) wassi are new records for the Sea of Marmara. Aricidea (Acmira) katzmanni n. sp. is characterized by having a long, digitiform antenna; no notopodial papillae on the posterior part of the branchial region; and hook shaped modified neurochaetac with a strong hood and fragile arista. Aricidea (Acmira) pseudoassimilis n. sp. is characterized by having a short, digitiform antenna; interramal lobes between notopodia and neuropodia; hookshaped modified neurochaeta that gets subterminally thinner with a rounded tip. As A. (Strelzovia) bulbosa has been only previously reported from the Gulf of Suez (Red Sea), it could be a new alien species for the Sea of Marmara and Mediterranean Sca. Based on the characters that have been overlooked so far, the subspecies A. suecica meridionalis and A. capensis bansei were raised to species level, A. meridionalis n. stat. and A. bansei n. stat. the present paper reports the usage of ciliary bands and slits on the prostomium and body, swellings/ridges in the branchial region, and the shape and distribution of sense organs in the taxonomy of Aricidea. ClubionaLatreille, 1804, with more than 500 named species, is one of the largest genera of Araneae. The genus has 15 synonyms, most of which are not listed in the World Spider Catalog (2018) and unknown to many arachnologists. The most comprehensive survey ofClubionasensu lato by Wunderlich (2011) also lacked a few synonyms. In this paper all genus group names described inClubionaare listed with their type species. Most of these names correspond to the species groups recognised inClubionasensu lato. We agree thatPorrhoclubionaLohmander, 1944 (=Clubionagenevensis-group) deserves a status of a separate genus and provide the diagnosis of this taxon. Three species ofPorrhoclubionathat occur in Central Asia are surveyed, and two of them are described as new to science:P.laudata(O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1885),comb. n. (♂♀, Xinjiang, Tibet, China),P.bosmansisp. n.(♂♀, Tajikistan), andP.moradmandisp. n.(♂♀, Fars, Iran). It seems that all records ofP.genevensisL. Koch, 1866 from China refer toP.laudata. The records ofClubionavegetaSimon, 1918 from Tajikistan and Iran refer toP.bosmansisp. n. andP.moradmandisp. n., respectively. The following new combinations have been established:Porrhoclubionadecora(Blackwall, 1859),comb. n.,P.diniensis(Simon, 1878),comb. n.,P.leucaspis(Simon, 1932),comb. n.,P.minor(Wunderlich, 1987),comb. n.,P.pseudominor(Wunderlich, 1987),comb. n.,P.pteronetoides(Deeleman-Reinhold, 2001),comb. n.,P.vegeta(Simon, 1918),comb. n.,P.viridula(Ono, 1989),comb. n., andP.wunderlichi(Mikhailov 1992),comb. n.(all ex.Clubiona). SEM study of the structure considered earlier as scopula inClubionaandPorrhoclubionareveals that it is represented by several lateral rows of movable macrosetae (spines) with a locking mechanism.

A taxonomic description of all castes of Colobopsisexplodens Laciny & Zettel, sp. n. from Borneo, Thailand, and Malaysia is provided, which serves as a model species for biological studies on “exploding ants” in Southeast Asia. The new species is a member of the Colobopsiscylindrica (COCY) group and falls into a species complex that has been repeatedly summarized under the name Colobopsissaundersi (Emery, 1889) (formerly Camponotussaundersi). The COCY species group is known under its vernacular name “exploding ants” for a unique behaviour: during territorial combat, workers of some species sacrifice themselves by rupturing their gaster and releasing sticky and irritant contents of their hypertrophied mandibular gland reservoirs to kill or repel rivals. This study includes first illustrations and morphometric characterizations of males of the COCY group: Colobopsisexplodens Laciny & Zettel, sp. n. and Colobopsisbadia (Smith, 1857). Characters of male genitalia and external morphology are compared with other selected taxa of Camponotini. Preliminary notes on the biology of C.explodens Laciny & Zettel, sp. n. are provided. To fix the species identity of the closely related C.badia, a lectotype from Singapore is designated. The following taxonomic changes within the C.saundersi complex are proposed: Colobopsissolenobia (Menozzi, 1926), syn. n. and Colobopsistrieterica (Menozzi, 1926), syn. n. are synonymized with Colobopsiscorallina Roger, 1863, a common endemic species of the Philippines. Colobopsissaginata Stitz, 1925, stat. n., hitherto a subspecies of C.badia, is raised to species level.

The genusCrematogasteris one of the most species-rich and widespread groups of ants. Despite their often-high local abundance and important ecological interactions, the taxonomy of the genus is fragmentary and in great need of modern revisionary studies. As a first step towards a revision for the Arabian fauna ofCrematogaster, a review of all known species with synoptic species accounts is provided. Seventeen species are recognized and illustrated from the Arabian Peninsula, of which two new species are described:C. jacindaeSharaf & Hita Garcia,sp. nov.from the Dhofar Governorate, Oman, andC. gryllsiSharaf & Hita Garcia,sp. nov.from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) based on the worker caste.Crematogaster jacindaesp. nov.is easily separated from the remainder of the ArabianCrematogasterfauna due to its complete lack of propodeal spines, slit-shaped propodeal spiracles, and its distinct bicoloration, whereasC. gryllsisp. nov.is readily distinguished by its unlobed postpetiolar dorsum. Furthermore, new country records are presented:C. acaciaeForel for the KSA and Yemen, andC. delagoensisForel andC. jehovaeForel for the KSAC. antarisfor Qatar, whereasC. luctansForel is excluded from the Arabian fauna. In addition, on the basis of morphological examination of original type material,C. affabilisForel is proposed as junior synonym ofC. chiariniiMayr, andC. striaticepsis elevated to species rankstat. nov.Furthermore, a new identification key for the Arabian species is provided, as well as distribution maps for all species.

Each description of a type specimen includes: original name in original combination, original indication of the type locality, real type locality, reference to the original publication, valid name, defects of the specimen, content of all labels, and sometimes remarks (taxonomy or geography comments).

Trachusa pubescens (Morawitz, 1872) s. l. has a distribution extending from south-eastern Europe over Anatolia and the Caucasus to Iran and Turkmenistan, and was formerly regarded as a species with high intraspecific variation. By means of an examination of 208 specimens from all parts of the distribution area, covering structural features of the head (mandibles, clypeus), the apical terga and the genitalia, the colouration pattern as well as a morphometric analysis of 26 body measurements with multivariate statistical methods (Principal Component Analysis, Discriminant Analysis), it was possible to assign the material to five species of which two are new to science (Trachusa balcanica sp. n. and T. hakkariensis sp. n.). Two taxa which had previously been described as “variations” or subspecies are elevated to species rank: T. verhoeffi (Mavromoustakis, 1955), stat. n. and T. maxima (Friese, 1931), stat. n. Additionally, some populations can be distinguished by their colouration pattern or by subtle differences in size or body shape, but these features are apparently of no taxonomic significance at the species level. Trachusa balcanica sp. n. and T. verhoeffi have distribution areas which do not overlap with any of the other members of the species group and can thus be characterised as allospecies. By contrast, the distribution areas of the other three species, T. pubescens, T. maxima and T. hakkariensis sp. n., overlap to a certain extent and they co-exist at least to some degree in sympatry. While they have been found in the same region, they have so far never been found together at exactly the same location and it is suggested that species divergence occurred in parallel with ecological differentiation. Niche partitioning such as flower preferences is a mechanism which may be invoked to explain this. Some specimens with intermediate characters were found, particularly in contact zones, and it is thought that some hybridisation may occur. A partly melanistic individual of T. balcanica sp. n. was found, which is probably the first described melanistic individual in the tribe Anthidiini.

On the Palaearctic Episernus (Col., Ptinidae, Ernobiinae). The Lectotype of Episernus angulicollis Thomson, 1863 is designated. The species distribution includes the north of Europe, the French Alps (Vanoise National Park, Savoy and the Hautes-Alpes department), the Swiss Valais and the Wechsel mountains in Austria. The study of the Type of E. granulatus Weise, 1887 confirms its specific status. The species occupies Central Europe, in the Alps of Germany (München), Switzerland (Valais and Grisons) and Italy (Mauls). Holotypes of E. sulcicollis Schilsky, 1898 and E. ganglbaueri Schilsky, 1898 have been studied with the designation of new synonyms : E. sulcicollis is invalidated in favour of E. striatellus (C. Brisout de Barneville, 1863) ; E. ganglbaueri is a synonym of E. angulicollis. Types of E. pyrenaeus Mařan, 1941 and E. taygetanus Mařan, 1941 have been redescribed. They form a unique species, E. taygetanus Mařan, 1941, represented by a subspecies in the French Pyrenees : E. taygetanus ssp. pyrenaeus Mařan, 1941 stat. nov. The study of the type of E. turcicus Zahradník, 1998 confirms its specific status. This species, morphologically close to E. angulicollis, seems to be endemic from Turkey. An identification key of the European Episernus is given together with precise descriptions and stable morphological characters., Le Lectotype est désigné pour Episernus angulicollis Thomson, 1863. Brisout de Barneville, 1863) ; E. ganglbaueri est synonyme d’E. angulicollis. Les Types de E. pyrenaeus Mařan, 1941 et E. taygetanus Mařan, 1941 sont redécrits. Ils doivent être rassemblés au sein d’une même espèce, E. taygetanus Mařan, 1941, représentée dans les Pyrénées françaises par la sous-espèce E. taygetanus ssp. pyrenaeus Mařan, 1941 stat. nov. L’étude du Type de E. turcicus Zahradník, 1998 confirme sa valeur spécifique. Décrite de Turquie et probablement endémique, cette espèce est morphologiquement proche de E. angulicollis. RESUME Une revision taxonomique du genre Ivodea Capuron est presentee. Trente especes sont reconnues dont 27 endemiques de Madagascar, deux endemiques des Comores et une commune aux deux archipels. Since the publication of the ground-breaking “Catalogue of the scorpions of the world (1758–1998)” (Fet et al. 2000) the number of species in the scorpion genus Buthus Leach, 1815 has increased 10-fold, and this genus is now the fourth largest within the Buthidae, with 52 valid named species. Here we revise and update the available information regarding Buthus. A new combination is proposed: Buthus halius (C. L. Koch, 1839), comb. n. from Portugal and Spain. B. halius is removed from junior synonymy with Buthus occitanus (Amoreux, 1789), and proposed as a senior synonym of B. ibericus Lourenço & Vachon, 2004, syn. n. Moreover, following I.C.Z.N. article 23.9.2 we propose to maintain as valid B. ibericus (nomen protectum) and to consider the disued B. halius as a nomen oblitum. Buthus europaeus tridentatus Franganillo, 1918 is proposed as a junior synonym of B. occitanus (Amoreux, 1789), syn. n. Buthus sabulicola Touloun, 2012 is proposed as a junior synonym of Buthus bonito Lourenço & Geniez, 2005, syn. n. Buthus occitanus tunetanus neeli Gysin, 1969 is proposed as an informal senior synonym of Buthus tassili Lourenço, 2002, informal syn. n. Two taxa are rised to species rank, Buthus nigrovesiculosus Hirst, 1925, stat. n. and Buthus parroti Vachon, 1949, stat. n.. We further confirm the restricted distribution of B. occitanus that is confined to southeastern France and northwestern Iberian Peninsula and does not occur in North Africa. Additionally, Androctonus barbouri (Werner, 1932), comb. n. from the Agadir region of Morocco, is hereby transferred to the genus Androctonus. We summarize and provide a critical appraisal of the diagnostic characters currently in use for the genus. The catalogue section considers the names for species, subspecies and varieties that have been used for Buthus scorpions. Information about types, including collection numbers and localities are included when available. Finally, an annotated listing of synonymies and an updated bibliography are given.

Synonymy of two species of the genus Mezium Curtis has been established: M. sulcatum (F.) proved taxonomically identical to M. americanum (Laporte). For Mezium hirticolle (Laporte) the status has changed.

On the Middle and Lower Volga territories 43 species of 18 genera from subfamilies Rhyssalinae, Doryctinae, Exothecinae, Braconinae, Gnamptodontinae and Rogadinae are recorded for the first time. Sixteen of them are recorded for the Russian fauna for the first time and 3 species are new for the fauna of the European part of Russia. Aleiodes sapporensis (Watanabe, 1937), Heterospilus fischeri Belokobylskij, 1983 and Spathius generosus Wilkinson, 1931 are recorded in the Western Palaearctic for the first time. The data on the fauna of Pterophoridae of Swaziland is presented for the first time. 32 Pterophoridae species (26 from which are unknown in the country) are reported. The species status of Marasmarcha verax (Meyrick, 1909) is restored, a new combination for Walsinghamiella orichalcias (Meyrick, 1916) comb.n. is determined.

New subfamily Idiomacerinae Legalov, subfam.n. (type genus: Idiomacer Kuschel, 2011) and new subtribe Rhynchitoplesiina Legalov, subtrib.n. (type genus: Rhynchitoplesius Voss, 1952) of the tribe Mecomacerini are described. New synonyms are established: Eugnamptus rusticus Legalov, 2003, syn.n. for Eugnamptus lacunosus Voss, 1948; Scolocnemus elegantulus Voss, 1938, syn.n. and Deporaus subseriatopilosus Voss, 1938, syn.n. for Scolocnemus pilosiusculus Voss, 1922. New systematic placement is made: Philippinorhynchites azurescens (Voss, 1932), placem.n. is transfered from the genus Thompsonirhinus Legalov, 2003 to the genus Philippinorhynchites Legalov, 2007. One new combination is established.

The Gymnopleurini of Iran (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae). A key to the Palearctic species of the genus Gymnopleurus Illiger, 1803, including the Middle East species G. qurosh n. sp., is provided. Gymnopleurus mimus n. stat., is considered as valid species whereas Gymnopleurus flagellatus hornei Waterhouse, 1890, n. stat., Gymnopleurus flagellatus serratus Fischer, 1821, n. stat., Gymnopleurus flagellatus calignosus Balthasar, 1934, n. stat., and Gymnopleurus flagellatus asperatus Motschulsky, 1849, n. stat., are considered with subspecies rank. The genera of Oriental Agathidinae are revised and a fully illustrated dichotomous key is presented. New generic concepts are proposed for Bassus Fabricius, 1804 and Hypsostypos Baltazar, 1963. Bassus is restricted to a clade with an Old World distribution and the remaining members are divided amongst the resurrected genera Camptothlipsis Enderlein, 1920, Lytopylus Förster, 1862, and Therophilus Wesmael, 1837. The concept of Hypsostypos is restricted and the new genus Amputostypos Sharkey, gen. n. is proposed to include species formerly included in Hypsostypos that do not have raised antennal bases. Troticus Brullé, 1846 is reported from the Oriental region for the first time. Eighteen genera are recognized for Thailand and neighboring areas, i.e., Agathis Latreille, 1804, Amputostypos, Aneurobracon Brues, 1930, Bassus, Biroia Szépligeti, 1900, Braunsia Kriechbaumer, 1894, Camptothlipsis, Coccygidium Saussure, 1892, Cremnops Förster, 1862, Disophrys Förster, 1862, Earinus Wesmael, 1837, Euagathis Szépligeti, 1900, Gryochus Enderlein, 1920, Hypsostypos, Lytopylus Förster, 1862, Therophilus, Cremnoptoides van Achterberg & Chen, 2004, and Troticus. Identification keys to the genera are provided as a standard textual dichotomous key, as well as online keys in three different formats (conventional dichotomous, DELTA/Intkey, Lucid, and MX) to enable users to choose their prefered platform and to allow direct comparisons of the technologies for producing online keys. Gymnopleurus persianus Reitter, 1909, n. stat., and description of a new species from Iraq (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae). Gymnopleurus persianus Reitter, 1909, n. stat., originally described from Iran as subspecies of G. mopsus (Pallas, 1781), presents differences with the nominal form which justify its raising to the species rank. G. arabs Garreta, 1914, described from Arabian Peninsula, is synonymised with G. persianus Reitter. A new species from Iraq, Gymnopleurus naviauxi n. sp., is described and compared with its most related taxa., Gymnopleurus persianus Reitter, 1909, n. stat., décrit d’Iran comme sous-espèce de G. mopsus (Pallas, 1781), présente des différences justifiant son élévation au rang d’espèce. Costigulella primennilus spec. nov. is the first representative of Costigulella reported from Cameroon. It is probably the smallest species of the family Streptaxidae known world-wide. Arguments are provided to consider Costigulella an independent radiation and genus, rather than a subgenus of Gulella. The mode of development of apertural barriers in juvenile shells in Costigulella and in other Streptaxidae is discussed.

The oribatid mite genus Berndamerus Mahunka, 1977 is transferred into the family Ctenobelbidae as the subgenus Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) Mahunka, 1977, stat. n. from the family Amerobelbidae. The known species of Berndamerus combined: C. (B.) bicostata (Berlese, 1910), comb. n., C. (B.) eremuloides (Berlese, 1910), comb. n., C. (B.) hellenica (Mahunka, 1977), comb. n. A new species, Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) bugiamapensis sp. n., is described from soil, Bu Gia Map National Park, southern Vietnam. It differs from the other species of the subgenus by the heterotrichy of notogastral setae, presence of adanal neotrichy and localization of adanal lyrifissures. Ctenobelbidae is recorded in Vietnam for the first time. A new diagnosis of the family Ctenobelbidae and the identification keys to the known subgenera of the genus Ctenobelba and species of the subgenus Ctenobelba (Berndamerus) are provided.

An up-to-date checklist of the Italian Dermestidae is provided. The presence of 95 species in Italy is confirmed, while further 5 species (Dermestes (Dermestes) vorax Motschulsky, 1860, Thorictus pilosus Peyron, 1857, T. wasmanni Reitter, 1895, Attagenus (Attagenus) simonis Reitter, 1881 and Globicornis (G.) breviclavis (Reitter, 1878)) and 1 subspecies (A. (A.) tigrinus pulcher Faldermann, 1835) are excluded from the Italian fauna.Attagenus (Attagenus) calabricus Reitter, 1881 and A. (A.) lobatus Rosenhauer, 1856 are for the first time recorded from Abruzzi and Tuscany respectively; A. (A.) silvaticus Zhantiev, 1976 is recorded for the first time from mainland Italy (Apulia); Anthrenus (Anthrenus) angustefasciatus Ganglbauer, 1904 is new to northern Italy (Friuli-Venezia Giulia), central Italy (Tuscany), Apulia and Basilicata; A. (A.) munroi Hinton, 1943 is new to central Italy (Elba Island); A. (A.) delicatus Kiesenwetter, 1851 is for the first time recorded from Apulia; Globicornis (Globicornis) fasciata (Fairmaire & Brisout de Barneville, 1859) is new to southern Italy (Basilicata); G. (Hadrotoma) sulcata (C.N.F. Brisout de Barneville, 1866) is for the first time recorded from central Italy (Abruzzi), Campania and Sicily, while Trogoderma inclusum LeConte, 1854 is new to Apulia.Seven species (Dermestes (Dermestes) peruvianus Laporte de Castelnau, 1840, D. (Dermestinus) carnivorus Fabricius, 1775, D. (Dermestinus) hankae Háva, 1999, D. (Dermestinus) intermedius intermedius Kalík, 1951, D. (Dermestinus) szekessyi Kalík, 1950, Anthrenus (Anthrenops) coloratus Reitter, 1881 and Trogoderma angustum (Solier, 1849)) recently recorded from Italy (without further details) are discussed.The lectotype and a paralectotype are designated for Attagenus (A.) calabricus Reitter, 1881 from Calabria.Attagenus pellio (Linnaeus, 1758) var. pilosissimus Roubal, 1932 is removed from synonymy with A. (A.) pellio and recognized as a valid species (stat. prom.); it is known from Lombardy, Apulia and Calabria.

One hundred sixty eight taxa of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) mostly from the Palearctic and Oriental regions are studied and their taxonomic, nomenclatural, distributional or biological data are updated. The following new taxonomic or nomenclatural acts are proposed. The status of four taxa is changed: Agrilus grandiceps hemiphanes Marseul, 1866 is changed from subspecies to species Agrilus hemiphanes stat. nov. ; Agrilus lopatini Alexeev, 1964 is changed from species to subspecies Agrilus araxenus lopatini stat. nov. ; the specific name hermineus Abeille de Perrin, 1907 is removed from the synonymy of A. lineola as a name of subspecies Agrilus lineola hermineus revalidated name , stat. nov. ; Agrilus validiusculus Semenov, 1891 is changed from species to subspecies Agrilus transversesulcatus validiusculus stat. nov. . The following fifteen new synonyms are proposed: grusinus Obenberger, 1917 syn. nov. (synonym of A. transversesulcatus Reitter, 1890); hassani Thery, 1930 syn. nov. Additionally, the geographical range or host plant data are updated or revised for many taxa. The North American Agrilus bilineatus (Weber, 1801) is recorded from a single record from Turkey which is the first introduction of a Nearctic Agrilus to the Palearctic fauna.

In the present paper a taxonomic and faunistic study of the superfamily of Grylloidea of Spain including the Balearic and Canary Islands is carried on. Sixty species and subspecies are reported for the study area, six of them new to science: Petaloptila (P.) fermini, P. (P.) isabelae, P. (Zapetaloptila) venosa, P. (Z.) barrancoi, Paramogoplistes dentatus sp. n. and Grylloderes orlovskajae adventicius subsp. n.; likewise are erected two new subgenera Italoptila and Zapetaloptila. One correct synonymy of the genus Grylloderes Bolívar, 1894 (=Platygryllus Chopard, 1961, syn. dist.), seven specific synonymies are established: Gryllomorpha (G.) dalmatina (Ocskay, 1832) (=Gryllomorpha dalmatina strumae Andreeva, 1982, syn. n.), Petaloptila (P.) aliena (Brunner-Wattenwyl, 1882) (=Discoptila eitschbergeri Harz, 1976, syn. n.), Acheta hispanicus Rambur, 1839 (=Gryllus erythrospilus Walker, 1869, syn. n., Gryllus hispanicus var. fusculus Bolívar, 1927, syn. n.), Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis (Latreille, 1802) (=Gryllodes ferdinandi Bolívar, 1899, syn. n., Gryllus chinensis var. intermedia Bolívar, 1927, syn. n.), Eugryllodes pipiens (Dufour, 1820) (=Gryllodes pipiens var. provincialis Azam, 1901, syn. n.) and besides five new status and one new combination. Three species [Eumodicogryllus theryi (Chopard, 1943), Sciobia natalia Gorochov, 1985 and Oecanthus dulcisonans Gorochov, 1993] are recorded for the first time for the Iberian Peninsula, being the former two also new for Europe, one (Svercus p. palmetorum Krauss, 1902) for Peninsular Spain, three [Natula averni (Costa, 1855), comb. n., Acanthogryllus acus Gorochov, 1988, under this name, and Pseudomogoplistes vicentae Gorochov, 1996], for the Canary Islands, being latter recorded also for the first time for Algeria and Modicogryllus (M.) algirius (Saussure, 1877) is also recorded for the first time for France. On the other hand, we recognise Eugryllodes panteli (Cazurro, 1888) as a good species. An identification key with figures for the species of the genus Petaloptila is presented. The male genitalia of several species is also studied for the first time. The type series of Gryllodes macropterus Fuente, 1894 and Gryllotalpa septemdecimchromosomica Ortiz, 1958 and two paratypes of Gryllomorpha adspersa merobricensis Fernandes, 1959, stat. n. are localized. Lectotypes and paralectotypes of 17 taxons are designated. The distribution of all species is revised. En el presente trabajo se realiza un estudio taxonómico y faunístico de la superfamilia Grylloidea de España, incluyendo las islas Baleares y Canarias. Se examinan las 60 especies y subespecies que se han encontrado hasta ahora en este país, siendo seis de ellas nuevas para la ciencia: Petaloptila (P.) fermini, P. (P.) isabelae, P. (Zapetaloptila) venosa, P. (Z.) barrancoi, Paramogoplistes dentatus sp. n. y Grylloderes orlovskajae adventicius subsp. n.; asimismo se crean dos nuevos subgéneros Italoptila y Zapetaloptila. Se establece una sinonimia correcta del género Grylloderes Bolívar, 1894 (=Platygryllus Chopard, 1961, syn. dist.), así como siete sinonimias específicas: Gryllomorpha (G.) dalmatina (Ocskay, 1832) (=Gryllomorpha dalmatina strumae Andreeva, 1982, syn. n.), Petaloptila (P.) aliena (Brunner-Wattenwyl, 1882) (=Discoptila eitschbergeri Harz, 1976, syn. n.), Acheta hispanicus Rambur, 1839 (=Gryllus erythrospilus Walker, 1869, syn. n., Gryllus hispanicus var. fusculus Bolívar, 1927, syn. n.), Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis (Latreille, 1802) (=Gryllodes ferdinandi Bolívar, 1899, syn. n., Gryllus chinensis var. intermedia Bolívar, 1927, syn. n.), Eugryllodes pipiens (Dufour, 1820) (=Gryllodes pipiens var. provincialis Azam, 1901, syn. n.), y además cinco estatus nuevos y una combinación nueva. Se citan por primera vez para la Península Ibérica tres especies [Eumodicogryllus theryi (Chopard, 1943), Sciobia natalia Gorochov, 1985 y Oecanthus dulcisonans Gorochov, 1993], las dos primeras de las cuales, lo son también para Europa; para la España peninsular una (Svercus p. palmetorum Krauss, 1902) y tres para las islas Canarias [Natula averni (Costa, 1855), comb. n., Acanthogryllus acus Gorochov, 1988, bajo este nombre, y Pseudomogoplistes vicentae Gorochov, 1996], esta última además se cita por primera vez para Argelia; así como Modicogryllus (M.) algirius (Saussure, 1877), para Francia. Por otra parte, se vuelve a considerar como buena especie Eugryllodes panteli (Cazurro, 1888). Asimismo se presenta una clave de identificación acompañada de figuras para las especies del género Petaloptila. También se estudia por primera vez la genitalia del macho de varias especies. Además, se han localizado las series tipo de Gryllodes macropterus Fuente, 1894 y Gryllotalpa septemdecimchromosomica Ortiz, 1958, así como dos paratipos de Gryllomorpha adspersa merobricensis Fernandes, 1959, stat. n. Se designan lectotipos y paralectotipos de 17 taxones y se revisa la geonemia de todas las especies.

International audience; Anopheles (Cellia) carnevalei sp. nov. is described as a new species morphologically similar to Anopheles nili. This aggressive human biter was collected in Ivory Coast. Anopheles (Cellia) hervyi sp. nov. was collected in southern Niger and is described as a new species morphologically similar to Anopheles salbaii. Anopheles (Cellia) dualaensis sp. nov. is a new species from Duala in southern Cameroon. The synonymy of Anopheles cavernicolus and Anopheles smithii is confirmed. Based on extensive reexamination of larval and adult morphology, the authors suggest that Anopheles (Cellia) rageaui Mattingly and Adam should no longer be considered as a synonymn of An. smithii.
