De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. The 6G wireless communication system will utilize the terahertz (THz) frequency band (0.1-10 THz) to meet customer demand for increased data rates and ultra-high-speed communication in future applications. The exponential surge in data traffic, which is supported by dynamic resource allocation. To mitigate this challenge, the use of artificial intelligence-based methods, such as narrow neural network (NNN), can help to smooth the performance of the network. In this paper, an NNN-based approach for dynamic base station allocation for 6G wireless networks is proposed 14 different 6G parameters used to train the NNN model, initially achieving an accuracy of 89.5% and an F1 score of 0.72 for 200 users. Results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed NNN approach for dynamic decision-making in 6G networks and its potential for application in other domains where similar problems exist. Moreover, the proposed narrow neural network model shows improved results with an increase in number of users and decrease in fully connected layers and regularization strength (lambda). The validation accuracy received is 98.9% and 99.6% for thousand users with single fully connected layer, none (linear) activation function and regularization strength lambda values of 0.01 and 0.001. In this paper, the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation scheme is used to develop a neural network model for the examination of the fluid flow on a magnetized flat surface with slip boundaries. The tangent hyperbolic fluid is considered along with heat generation, velocity, and thermal slip effects at the surface. The problem is modelled in terms of a non-linear differential system and Lie symmetry is used to get the scaling group of transformation. The order reduction of differential equations is done by using Lie transformation. The reduced system is solved by the shooting method. The surface quantity, namely skin friction, is evaluated at the surface for the absence and presence of an externally applied magnetic field. A total of 88 sample values are estimated for developing an artificial neural network model to predict skin friction coefficient (SFC). Weissenberg number, magnetic field parameter, and power law index are considered three inputs in the first layer, while 10 neurons are taken in the hidden layer. 62 (70%), 13 (15%), and 13 (15%) samples are used for training, validation, and testing, respectively. The Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation is used to train the network by entertaining the random 62 sample values. Both mean square error and regression analysis are used to check the performance of the developed neural networking model. Operational load monitoring (OLM) is an industrial process related to structural health monitoring, where fatigue of the structure is tracked. Artificial intelligence methods, such as artificial neural networks (ANNs) or Gaussian processes, are utilized to improve efficiency of such processes. This paper focuses on moving such processes towards green computing by deploying and executing the algorithm on low-power consumption FPGA where high-throughput and truly parallel computations can be performed. In the following paper, the OLM process of typical aerostructure (hat-stiffened composite panel) is performed using ANN. The ANN was trained using numerically generated data, of every possible load case, to be working with sensor measurements as inputs. The trained ANN was deployed to Xilinx Artix-7 A100T FPGA of a real-time microcontroller. By executing the ANN on FPGA (where every neuron of a given layer can be processed at the same time, without limiting the number of parallel threads), computation time could be reduced by 70% as compared to standard CPU execution. Series of real-time experiments were performed that have proven the efficiency and high accuracy of the developed FPGA-based algorithm. Adjusting the ANN algorithm to FPGA requirements takes some effort, however it can lead to high performance increase. FPGA has the advantages of many more potential parallel threads than a standard CPU and much lower consumption than a GPU. Introduction: Emotional recognition from audio recordings is a rapidly advancing field, with significant implications for artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction. This study introduces a novel method for detecting emotions fromshort, 1.5 s audio samples, aiming to improve accuracy and efficiency in emotion recognition technologies. Methods: We utilized 1,510 unique audio samples from two databases in German and English to train our models. We extracted various features for emotion prediction, employing Deep Neural Networks (DNN) for general feature analysis, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for spectrogram analysis, and a hybrid model combining both approaches (C-DNN). The study addressed challenges associated with dataset heterogeneity, language differences, and the complexities of audio sample trimming. Results: Our models demonstrated accuracy significantly surpassing random guessing, aligning closely with human evaluative benchmarks. This indicates the effectiveness of our approach in recognizing emotional states from brief audio clips. Discussion: Despite the challenges of integrating diverse datasets and managing short audio samples, our findings suggest considerable potential for this methodology in real-time emotion detection from continuous speech. Machine learning is a widespread technology that plays a crucial role in digitalisation and aims to explore rules and patterns in large datasets to autonomously solve non-linear problems, taking advantage of multiple source data. Due to its versatility, machine learning can be applied to agriculture. Better crop management, plant health assessment, and early disease detection are some of the main challenges facing the agricultural sector. Plant phenotyping can play a key role in addressing these challenges, especially when combined with machine learning techniques. Therefore, this study reviews available scientific literature on the applications of machine learning algorithms in plant phenotyping with a specific focus on sunflowers. The most common algorithms in the agricultural field are described to emphasise possible uses. Subsequently, the overview highlights machine learning application on phenotyping in three primaries areas: crop management (i.e., yield prediction, biomass estimation, and growth stage monitoring), plant health (i.e., nutritional status and water stress), and disease detection. Finally, we focus on the adoption of machine learning techniques in sunflower phenotyping. The role of machine learning in plant phenotyping has been thoroughly investigated. Simple Summary: Stimulated Raman Histology (SRH) is a technique that uses laser light to create detailed images of tissues without the need for traditional staining. This study aimed to use deep learning to classify oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and different non-malignant tissue types using SRH images. The performances of the classifications between SRH images and the original images obtained from stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) were compared. A deep learning model was trained on 64 images and tested on 16, showing that it could effectively identify tissue types during surgery, potentially speeding up decision making in oral cancer surgery. Stimulated Raman Histology (SRH) employs the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) of photons at biomolecules in tissue samples to generate histological images. Subsequent pathological analysis allows for an intraoperative evaluation without the need for sectioning and staining. The objective of this study was to investigate a deep learning-based classification of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and the sub-classification of non-malignant tissue types, as well as to compare the performances of the classifier between SRS and SRH images. Raman shifts were measured at wavenumbers k1 = 2845 cm−1 and k2 = 2930 cm−1. SRS images were transformed into SRH images resembling traditional H&E-stained frozen sections. The annotation of 6 tissue types was performed on images obtained from 80 tissue samples from eight OSCC patients. A VGG19-based convolutional neural network was then trained on 64 SRS images (and corresponding SRH images) and tested on 16. A balanced accuracy of 0.90 (0.87 for SRH images) and F1-scores of 0.91 (0.91 for SRH) for stroma, 0.98 (0.96 for SRH) for adipose tissue, 0.90 (0.87 for SRH) for squamous epithelium, 0.92 (0.76 for SRH) for muscle, 0.87 (0.90 for SRH) for glandular tissue, and 0.88 (0.87 for SRH) for tumor were achieved. The transit method allows the detection and characterization of planetary systems by analyzing stellar light curves. Convolutional neural networks appear to offer a viable solution for automating these analyses. In this research, two 1D convolutional neural network models, which work with simulated light curves in which transit-like signals were injected, are presented. One model operates on complete light curves and estimates the orbital period, and the other one operates on phase-folded light curves and estimates the semimajor axis of the orbit and the square of the planet-to-star radius ratio. Both models were tested on real data from TESS light curves with confirmed planets to ensure that they are able to work with real data. The results obtained show that 1D CNNs are able to characterize transiting exoplanets from their host star's detrended light curve and, furthermore, reducing both the required time and computational costs compared with the current detection and characterization algorithms.
