Purpose: Paper-based artifacts hold significant cultural and social values. However, paper is intrinsically fragile to microorganisms, such as mold, due to its cellulose composition, which can serve as a microorganisms' nutrient source. Mold not only can damage papers' structural integrity and pose significant challenges to conservation works but also may subject individuals attending the contaminated artifacts to health risks. Current approaches for strain identification usually require extensive training, prolonged time for analysis, expensive operation costs, and higher risks of secondary damage due to sampling. Thus, in current conservation practices with mold-contaminated artifacts, little pre-screening or strain identification was performed before mold removal, and the cleaning techniques are usually broad-spectrum rather than strain-specific. With deep learning showing promising applications across various domains, this study investigated the feasibility of using a convolutional neural network (CNN) for fast in-situ recognition and classification of mold on paper. Methods: Molds were first non-invasively sampled from ancient Xuan Paper-based Chinese books from the Qing and Ming dynasties. Strains were identified using molecular biology methods and the four most prevalent strains were inoculated on Xuan paper to create mockups for image collection. Microscopic images of the molds as well as their stains situated on paper were collected using a compound microscope and commercial microscope lens for cell phone cameras, which were then used for training CNN models with a transfer learning scheme to perform the classification of mold. To enable involvement and contribution from the research community, a web interface that actuates the process while providing interactive features for users to learn about the information of the classified strain was constructed. Moreover, a feedback functionality in the web interface was embedded for catching potential classification errors, adding additional training images, or introducing new strains, all to refine the generalizability and robustness of the model. Results & Conclusion: In the study, we have constructed a suite of high-confidence classification CNN models for the diagnostic process for mold contamination in conservation. At the same time, a web interface was constructed that allows recurrently refining the model with human feedback through engaging the research community. In an era overwhelmed by academic big data, students grapple with identifying academic papers that resonate with their learning objectives and research interests, due to the sheer volume and complexity of available information. This study addresses the challenge by proposing a novel academic paper recommendation system designed to enhance personalized learning through the nuanced understanding of academic social networks. Utilizing the theory of social homogeneity, the research first constructs a sophisticated academic social network, capturing high-order social relationships, such as co-authorship and advisor–advisee connections, through hypergraph modeling and advanced network representation learning techniques. The methodology encompasses the development and integration of a hypergraph convolutional neural network and a contrastive learning framework to accurately model and recommend academic papers, focusing on aligning with students' unique preferences and reducing reliance on sparse interaction data. The findings, validated across multiple real-world datasets, demonstrate a significant improvement in recommendation accuracy, particularly in addressing the cold-start problem and effectively mapping advisor–advisee relationships. The study concludes that leveraging complex academic social networks can substantially enhance the personalization and precision of academic paper recommendations, offering a promising avenue for addressing the challenges of academic information overload and fostering more effective personalized learning environments. The research groups in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning have dedicated a substantial amount of attention to the areas of 3D object reconstruction, augmentation, and registration. Deep learning is the predominant method used in artificial intelligence for addressing computer vision challenges. However, deep learning on three-dimensional data presents distinct obstacles and is now in its nascent phase. There have been significant advancements in deep learning specifically for three-dimensional data, offering a range of ways to address these issues. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements in deep learning methodologies. We examine many benchmark models for the tasks of 3D object registration, augmentation, and reconstruction. We thoroughly analyse their architectures, advantages, and constraints. Herein, the challenge of accurately classifying the manufacturing origin of printing paper, including continent, country, and specific product, was addressed. One-dimensional convolutional neural network (1D CNN) models trained on infrared (IR) spectrum data acquired from printing paper samples were used for the task. The preprocessing of the IR spectra through a second-derivative transformation and the restriction of the spectral range to 1800 to 1200 cm-1 improved the classification performance of the model. The outcomes were highly promising. Models trained on second-derivative IR spectra in the 1800 to 1200-cm-1 range exhibited perfect classification for the manufacturing continent and country, with an impressive F1 score of 0.980 for product classification. Notably, the developed 1D CNN model outperformed traditional machine learning classifiers, such as support vector machines and feed-forward neural networks. In addition, the application of data point attribution enhanced the transparency of the decision-making process of the model, offering insights into the spectral patterns that affect classification. Aiming at the problems of high stochasticity and volatility of power loads as well as the difficulty of accurate load forecasting, this paper proposes a power load forecasting method based on CEEMDAN (Completely Integrated Empirical Modal Decomposition) and TCN-LSTM (Temporal Convolutional Networks and Long-Short-Term Memory Networks). The method combines the decomposition of raw load data by CEEMDAN and the spatio-temporal modeling capability of TCN-LSTM model, aiming to improve the accuracy and stability of forecasting. First, the raw load data are decomposed into multiple linearly stable subsequences by CEEMDAN, and then the sample entropy is introduced to reorganize each subsequence. Then the reorganized sequences are used as inputs to the TCN-LSTM model to extract sequence features and perform training and prediction. The modeling prediction is carried out by selecting the electricity compliance data of New South Wales, Australia, and compared with the traditional prediction methods. The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has higher accuracy and better prediction effect on load forecasting, which can provide a partial reference for electricity load forecasting methods. The traditional method for retrieving cloud optical thickness (COT) is carried out through a Look-Up Table (LUT). Researchers must make a series of idealized assumptions and conduct extensive observations and record features in this scenario, consuming considerable resources. The emergence of deep learning effectively addresses the shortcomings of the traditional approach. In this paper, we first propose a daytime (SOZA < 70°) COT retrieval algorithm based on FY-4A AGRI. We establish and train a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model for COT retrieval, CM4CR, with the CALIPSO's COT product spatially and temporally synchronized as the ground truth. Then, a deep learning method extended from video prediction models is adopted to predict COT values based on the retrieval results obtained from CM4CR. The COT prediction model (CPM) consists of an encoder, a predictor, and a decoder. On this basis, we further incorporated a time embedding module to enhance the model's ability to learn from irregular time intervals in the input COT sequence. During the training phase, we employed Charbonnier Loss and Edge Loss to enhance the model's capability to represent COT details. Experiments indicate that our CM4CR outperforms existing COT retrieval methods, with predictions showing better performance across several metrics than other benchmark prediction models. The precision of short-term photovoltaic power forecasts is of utmost importance for the planning and operation of the electrical grid system. To enhance the precision of short-term output power prediction in photovoltaic systems, this paper proposes a method integrating K-means clustering: an improved snake optimization algorithm with a convolutional neural network–bidirectional long short-term memory network to predict short-term photovoltaic power. Firstly, K-means clustering is utilized to categorize weather scenarios into three categories: sunny, cloudy, and rainy. The Pearson correlation coefficient method is then utilized to determine the inputs of the model. Secondly, the snake optimization algorithm is improved by introducing Tent chaotic mapping, lens imaging backward learning, and an optimal individual adaptive perturbation strategy to enhance its optimization ability. Then, the multi-strategy improved snake optimization algorithm is employed to optimize the parameters of the convolutional neural network–bidirectional long short-term memory network model, thereby augmenting the predictive precision of the model. Finally, the model established in this paper is utilized to forecast photovoltaic power in diverse weather scenarios. The simulation findings indicate that the regression coefficients of this method can reach 0.99216, 0.95772, and 0.93163 on sunny, cloudy, and rainy days, which has better prediction precision and adaptability under various weather conditions. This paper introduces a novel one-dimensional convolutional neural network that utilizes clinical data to accurately detect choledocholithiasis, where gallstones obstruct the common bile duct. Swift and precise detection of this condition is critical to preventing severe complications, such as biliary colic, jaundice, and pancreatitis. This cutting-edge model was rigorously compared with other machine learning methods commonly used in similar problems, such as logistic regression, linear discriminant analysis, and a state-of-the-art random forest, using a dataset derived from endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography scans performed at Olive View–University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. The one-dimensional convolutional neural network model demonstrated exceptional performance, achieving 90.77% accuracy and 92.86% specificity, with an area under the curve of 0.9270. While the paper acknowledges potential areas for improvement, it emphasizes the effectiveness of the one-dimensional convolutional neural network architecture. CNN has demonstrated remarkable performance in EEG signal detection, yet it still faces limitations in terms of global perception. Additionally, due to individual differences in EEG signals, the generalization ability of epilepsy detection models is week. To address this issue, this paper presents a cross-patient epilepsy detection method utilizing a multi-head self-attention mechanism. This method first utilizes Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) to transform the original EEG signals into time-frequency features, then models local information using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), subsequently captures global dependency relationships between features using the multi-head self-attention mechanism of Transformer, and finally performs epilepsy detection using these features. Meanwhile, this model employs a light multi-head attention mechanism module with an alternating structure, which can comprehensively extract multi-scale features while significantly reducing computational costs. Experimental results on the CHB-MIT dataset show that the proposed model achieves accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1 score, and AUC of 92.89%, 96.17%, 92.99%, 94.41%, and 96.77%, respectively. Visual information is important in final approach and landing phases for an approaching aircraft, it presents supplementary source for navigation system, and provides backup guidance when radio navigation fails, or even supports a complete vision‐based landing. Relative position and attitude can be solved from the runway features in the image. Traditional runway detection methods have high latency and low accuracy, which is unable to satisfy the requirements for a safe landing. This paper proposes a real‐time runway detection model, efficient runway feature extractor (ERFE), based on deep convolutional neural network, generating semantic segmentation and feature lines output. In order to evaluate the model's effectiveness, a benchmark is proposed to calculate the actual error between predicted feature line and ground truth one. A novel runway dataset which is based on pictures from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (FS2020), is also proposed in this paper to train and test the model. Segmentation is crucial in diagnosing retinal diseases by accurately identifiying retinal vessels. This paper addresses the complexity of segmenting retinal vessels, highlighting the need for precise analysis of blood vessel structures. Despite the progress made by convolutional neural networsks (CNNs) in image segmentation, their limitations in capturing the global structure of retinal vsessels and maintaining segmentation continuity present challenges. To tackle these issues, our proposed network integrates graph convolutional networks (GCNs) and attention mechansims. This allows the model to consider pixel relationships and learn vessel graphical structures, significantly improving segmentation accuracy. Additionally, the attentional feature fusion module, including pixel‐wise and channel‐wise attention mechansims within the U‐Net architecture, refines the model's focus on relevant features. This paper emphasizes the importance of continuty preservation, ensuring an accurate representation of pixel‐level information and structural details during sefmentation. Therefore, our method performs as an effective solution to overcome challenges in retinal vessel segmentation. The proposed method outperformed the state‐of‐the‐art approaches on DRIVE (Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction) and STARE (Structed Analysis of the Retina) datasets with accuracies of 0.12% and 0.14%, respecttively. With the aim of solving the problem of identifying complex underwater acoustic targets using a single signal feature in the Time–Frequency (TF) feature, this paper designs a method that recognizes the underwater targets based on the Delay-Doppler joint feature. First, this method uses symplectic finite Fourier transform (SFFT) to extract the Delay-Doppler features of underwater acoustic signals, analyzes the Time–Frequency features at the same time, and combines the Delay-Doppler (DD) feature and Time–Frequency feature to form a joint feature (TF-DD). This paper uses three types of convolutional neural networks to verify that TF-DD can effectively improve the accuracy of target recognition. Secondly, this paper designs an object recognition model (TF-DD-CNN) based on joint features as input, which simplifies the neural network's overall structure and improves the model's training efficiency. This research employs ship-radiated noise to validate the efficacy of TF-DD-CNN for target identification. In order to accurately estimate the period of X-ray pulsars to improve navigation performance, this paper proposes a pulsar period estimation method based on photon energy using reverse Hilbert coding and double Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) discrimination. This method uses photon energy information to perform epoch folding. It converts one-dimensional contour information into two-dimensional image signals through reverse Hilbert curve and recognizes contour image features through CNN models to determine the optimal period. According to the simulation results, the period estimation accuracy of this method is 0.5350 ns, which is 65.71% higher than the χ 2 epoch folding method. The contour phase accuracy is 0.0004767, which is 41.93% higher than the χ 2 epoch folding method. At the same time, the observation time and noise interference that may affect the accuracy of period estimation are also quantitatively analyzed. In addition, in order to simulate real navigation scenarios, this paper also conducts dynamic period estimation experiments on PSR B0531+21 pulsar in a specific period of time. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are a kind of artificial neural network designed to extract features and find out patterns for tasks such as segmentation, recognizing objects, and drawing up classification. Within a CNNs architecture, pooling operations are used until the number of parameters and the computational complexity are reduced. Numerous papers have focused on investigating the impact of pooling on the performance of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), leading to the development of various pooling models. Recently, a fuzzy pooling operation based on type-1 fuzzy sets was introduced to cope with the local imprecision of the feature maps. However, in fuzzy set theory, it is not always accurate to assume that the degree of non-membership of an element in a fuzzy set is simply the complement of the degree of membership. This is due to the potential existence of a hesitation degree, which implies a certain level of uncertainty. To overcome this limitation, intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) were introduced to incorporate the concept of a degree of hesitation. In this paper, we introduce a novel pooling operation based on intuitionistic fuzzy sets to incorporate the degree of hesitation heretofore neglected by a fuzzy pooling operation based on classical fuzzy sets, and we investigate its performance in the context of image classification. Intuitionistic pooling is performed in four steps: bifuzzification (by the transformation of data through the use of membership and non-membership maps), first aggregation (through the transformation of the IFS into a standard fuzzy set, second aggregation (through the transformation and use of a sum operator), and the defuzzification of feature map neighborhoods by using a max operator. IFS pooling is used for the construction of an intuitionistic pooling layer that can be applied as a drop-in replacement for the current, fuzzy (type-1) and crisp, pooling layers of CNN architectures. Various experiments involving multiple datasets demonstrate that an IFS-based pooling can enhance the classification performance of a CNN. Sign language is an essential means of communication for individuals with hearing disabilities. However, there is a significant shortage of sign language interpreters in some languages, especially in Saudi Arabia. This shortage results in a large proportion of the hearing-impaired population being deprived of services, especially in public places. This paper aims to address this gap in accessibility by leveraging technology to develop systems capable of recognizing Arabic Sign Language (ArSL) using deep learning techniques. In this paper, we propose a hybrid model to capture the spatio-temporal aspects of sign language (i.e., letters and words). The hybrid model consists of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) classifier to extract spatial features from sign language data and a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) classifier to extract spatial and temporal characteristics to handle sequential data (i.e., hand movements). To demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed hybrid model, we created a dataset of 20 different words, resulting in 4000 images for ArSL: 10 static gesture words and 500 videos for 10 dynamic gesture words. Our proposed hybrid model demonstrates promising performance, with the CNN and LSTM classifiers achieving accuracy rates of 94.40% and 82.70%, respectively. These results indicate that our approach can significantly enhance communication accessibility for the hearing-impaired community in Saudi Arabia. This paper addresses issues concerning biometric authentication based on handwritten signatures. Our research aimed to check whether a handwritten signature acquired with a mobile device can effectively verify a user's identity. We present a novel online signature verification method using coordinates of points and pressure values at each point collected with a mobile device. Convolutional neural networks are used for signature verification. In this paper, three neural network models are investigated, i.e., two self-made light SigNet and SigNetExt models and the VGG-16 model commonly used in image processing. The convolutional neural networks aim to determine whether the acquired signature sample matches the class declared by the signer. Thus, the scenario of closed set verification is performed. The effectiveness of our method was tested on signatures acquired with mobile phones. We used the subset of the multimodal database, MobiBits, that was captured using a custom-made application and consists of samples acquired from 53 people of diverse ages. The experimental results on accurate data demonstrate that developed architectures of deep neural networks can be successfully used for online handwritten signature verification. Emotion recognition has become increasingly important in the field of Deep Learning (DL) and computer vision due to its broad applicability by using human–computer interaction (HCI) in areas such as psychology, healthcare, and entertainment. In this paper, we conduct a systematic review of facial and pose emotion recognition using DL and computer vision, analyzing and evaluating 77 papers from different sources under Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Our review covers several topics, including the scope and purpose of the studies, the methods employed, and the used datasets. The scope of this work is to conduct a systematic review of facial and pose emotion recognition using DL methods and computer vision. The studies were categorized based on a proposed taxonomy that describes the type of expressions used for emotion detection, the testing environment, the currently relevant DL methods, and the datasets used. The taxonomy of methods in our review includes Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Faster Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN), Vision Transformer (ViT), and "Other NNs", which are the most commonly used models in the analyzed studies, indicating their trendiness in the field. Hybrid and augmented models are not explicitly categorized within this taxonomy, but they are still important to the field. This review offers an understanding of state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and datasets for emotion recognition through facial expressions and body poses, allowing researchers to understand its fundamental components and trends. With the continuous development of automotive intelligence, vehicle occupant detection technology has received increasing attention. Despite various types of research in this field, a simple, reliable, and highly private detection method is lacking. This paper proposes a method for vehicle occupant detection using millimeter-wave radar. Specifically, the paper outlines the system design for vehicle occupant detection using millimeter-wave radar. By collecting the raw signals of FMCW radar and applying Range-FFT and DoA estimation algorithms, a range–azimuth heatmap was generated, visually depicting the current status of people inside the vehicle. Furthermore, utilizing the collected range–azimuth heatmap of passengers, this paper integrates the Faster R-CNN deep learning networks with radar signal processing to identify passenger information. Finally, to test the performance of the detection method proposed in this article, an experimental verification was conducted in a car and the results were compared with those of traditional machine learning algorithms. Radio frequency interference (RFI) significantly hampers the target detection performance of frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar. To address the problem and maintain the target echo signal, this paper proposes a priori assumption on the interference component nature in the radar received signal, as well as a method for interference estimation and mitigation via time–frequency analysis. The solution employs Fourier synchrosqueezed transform to implement the radar's beat signal transformation from time domain to time–frequency domain, thus converting the interference mitigation to the task of time–frequency distribution image restoration. The solution proposes the use of image processing based on the dual-tree complex wavelet transform and combines it with the spatial domain-based approach, thereby establishing a dual-domain fusion interference filter for time–frequency distribution images. This paper also presents a convolutional neural network model of structurally improved UNet++, which serves as the interference estimator. The proposed solution demonstrated its capability against various forms of RFI through the simulation experiment and showed a superior interference mitigation performance over other CNN model-based approaches. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) offer comprehensive position, navigation, and timing (PNT) estimates worldwide. Given the growing demand for reliable location awareness in both indoor and outdoor contexts, the advent of fifth-generation mobile communication technology (5G) has enabled expansive coverage and precise positioning services. However, the power received by the signal of interest (SOI) at terminals is notably low. This can lead to significant jamming, whether intentional or unintentional, which can adversely affect positioning receivers. The diagnosis of jamming types, such as classification, assists receivers in spectrum sensing and choosing effective mitigation strategies. Traditional jamming diagnosis methodologies predominantly depend on the expertise of classification experts, often demonstrating a lack of adaptability for diverse tasks. Recently, researchers have begun utilizing convolutional neural networks to re-conceptualize a jamming diagnosis as an image classification issue, thereby augmenting recognition performance. However, in real-world scenarios, the assumptions of independent and homogeneous distributions are frequently violated. This discrepancy between the source and target distributions frequently leads to subpar model performance on the test set or an inability to procure usable evaluation samples during training. In this paper, we introduce LJCD-Net, a deep adversarial migration-based cross-domain jamming generalization diagnostic network. LJCD-Net capitalizes on a fully labeled source domain and multiple unlabeled auxiliary domains to generate shared feature representations with generalization capabilities. Initially, our paper proposes an uncertainty-guided auxiliary domain labeling weighting strategy, which estimates the multi-domain sample uncertainty to re-weight the classification loss and specify the gradient optimization direction. Subsequently, from a probabilistic distribution standpoint, the spatial constraint imposed on the cross-domain global jamming time-frequency feature distribution facilitates the optimization of collaborative objectives. These objectives include minimizing both the source domain classification loss and auxiliary domain classification loss, as well as optimizing the inter-domain marginal probability and conditional probability distribution. Listening to music is a crucial tool for relieving stress and promoting relaxation. However, the limited options available for stress-relief music do not cater to individual preferences, compromising its effectiveness. Traditional methods of curating stress-relief music rely heavily on measuring biological responses, which is time-consuming, expensive, and requires specialized measurement devices. In this paper, a deep learning approach to solve this problem is introduced that explicitly uses convolutional neural networks and provides a more efficient and economical method for generating large datasets of stress-relief music. These datasets are composed of Mel-scaled spectrograms that include essential sound elements (such as frequency, amplitude, and waveform) that can be directly extracted from the music. The trained model demonstrated a test accuracy of 98.7%, and a clinical study indicated that the model-selected music was as effective as researcher-verified music in terms of stress-relieving capacity. Deep learning, a crucial technique for achieving artificial intelligence (AI), has been successfully applied in many fields. The gradual application of the latest architectures of deep learning in the field of time series forecasting (TSF), such as Transformers, has shown excellent performance and results compared to traditional statistical methods. These applications are widely present in academia and in our daily lives, covering many areas including forecasting electricity consumption in power systems, meteorological rainfall, traffic flow, quantitative trading, risk control in finance, sales operations and price predictions for commercial companies, and pandemic prediction in the medical field. Deep learning-based TSF tasks stand out as one of the most valuable AI scenarios for research, playing an important role in explaining complex real-world phenomena. However, deep learning models still face challenges: they need to deal with the challenge of large-scale data in the information age, achieve longer forecasting ranges, reduce excessively high computational complexity, etc. Therefore, novel methods and more effective solutions are essential. In this paper, we review the latest developments in deep learning for TSF. We begin by introducing the recent development trends in the field of TSF and then propose a new taxonomy from the perspective of deep neural network models, comprehensively covering articles published over the past five years. We also organize commonly used experimental evaluation metrics and datasets. Finally, we point out current issues with the existing solutions and suggest promising future directions in the field of deep learning combined with TSF. Delamination represents one of the most significant and dangerous damages in composite plates. Recently, many papers have presented the capability of structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques for the investigation of structural delamination with various shapes and thickness depths. However, few studies have been conducted regarding the utilization of convolutional neural network (CNN) methods for automating the non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques database to identify the delamination size and depth. In this paper, an automated system qualified for distinguishing between pristine and damaged structures and classifying three classes of delamination with various depths is presented. This system includes a proposed CNN model and the Lamb wave technique. In this work, a unidirectional composite plate with three samples of delamination inserted at different depths was prepared for numerical and experimental investigations. In the numerical part, the guided wave propagation and interaction with three samples of delamination were studied to observe how the delamination depth can affect the scattered and trapped waves over the delamination region. This numerical study was validated experimentally using an efficient ultrasonic guided waves technique. This technique involved piezoelectric wafer active sensors (PWASs) and a scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). Both numerical and experimental studies demonstrate that the delamination depth has a direct effect on the trapped waves' energy and distribution. Three different datasets were collected from the numerical and experimental studies, involving the numerical wavefield image dataset, experimental wavefield image dataset, and experimental wavenumber spectrum image dataset. These three datasets were used independently with the proposed CNN model to develop a system that can automatically classify four classes (pristine class and three different delamination classes). The results of all three datasets show the capability of the proposed CNN model for predicting the delamination depth with high accuracy. The proposed CNN model results of the three different datasets were validated using the GoogLeNet CNN. The results of both methods show an excellent agreement. In recent years, deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) have shown promising performance in medical image analysis, including breast lesion classification in 2D ultrasound (US) images. Despite the outstanding performance of DCNN solutions, explaining their decisions remains an open investigation. Yet, the explainability of DCNN models has become essential for healthcare systems to accept and trust the models. This paper presents a novel framework for explaining DCNN classification decisions of lesions in ultrasound images using the saliency maps linking the DCNN decisions to known cancer characteristics in the medical domain. The proposed framework consists of three main phases. First, DCNN models for classification in ultrasound images are built. Next, selected methods for visualization are applied to obtain saliency maps on the input images of the DCNN models. In the final phase, the visualization outputs and domain-known cancer characteristics are mapped. The paper then demonstrates the use of the framework for breast lesion classification from ultrasound images. We first follow the transfer learning approach and build two DCNN models. We then analyze the visualization outputs of the trained DCNN models using the EGrad-CAM and Ablation-CAM methods. We map the DCNN model decisions of benign and malignant lesions through the visualization outputs to the characteristics such as echogenicity, calcification, shape, and margin. A retrospective dataset of 1298 US images collected from different hospitals is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the framework. The test results show that these characteristics contribute differently to the benign and malignant lesions' decisions. The fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) records changes in the graph of fetal cardiac action potential during conduction, reflecting the developmental status of the fetus in utero and its physiological cardiac activity. Morphological alterations in the FECG can indicate intrauterine hypoxia, fetal distress, and neonatal asphyxia early on, enhancing maternal and fetal safety through prompt clinical intervention, thereby reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality. To reconstruct FECG signals with clear morphological information, this paper proposes a novel deep learning model, CBLS-CycleGAN. The model's generator combines spatial features extracted by the CNN with temporal features extracted by the BiLSTM network, thus ensuring that the reconstructed signals possess combined features with spatial and temporal dependencies. The model's discriminator utilizes PatchGAN, employing small segments of the signal as discriminative inputs to concentrate the training process on capturing signal details. Evaluating the model using two real FECG signal databases, namely "Abdominal and Direct Fetal ECG Database" and "Fetal Electrocardiograms, Direct and Abdominal with Reference Heartbeat Annotations", resulted in a mean MSE and MAE of 0.019 and 0.006, respectively. It detects the FQRS compound wave with a sensitivity, positive predictive value, and F1 of 99.51%, 99.57%, and 99.54%, respectively. This paper investigates a method for precise mapping of human arm movements using sEMG signals. A multi-channel approach captures the sEMG signals, which, combined with the accurately calculated joint angles from an Inertial Measurement Unit, allows for action recognition and mapping through deep learning algorithms. Firstly, signal acquisition and processing were carried out, which involved acquiring data from various movements (hand gestures, single-degree-of-freedom joint movements, and continuous joint actions) and sensor placement. Then, interference signals were filtered out through filters, and the signals were preprocessed using normalization and moving averages to obtain sEMG signals with obvious features. Additionally, this paper constructs a hybrid network model, combining Convolutional Neural Networks and Artificial Neural Networks, and employs a multi-feature fusion algorithm to enhance the accuracy of gesture recognition. Furthermore, a nonlinear fitting between sEMG signals and joint angles was established based on a backpropagation neural network, incorporating momentum term and adaptive learning rate adjustments. Finally, based on the gesture recognition and joint angle prediction model, prosthetic arm control experiments were conducted, achieving highly accurate arm movement prediction and execution. Cracks provide the earliest and most immediate visual response to structural deterioration of asphalt pavements. Most of the current methods for crack detection are based on visible light sensors and convolutional neural networks. However, such an approach obviously limits the detection to daytime and good lighting conditions. Therefore, this paper proposes a crack detection technique cross-modal feature alignment of YOLOV5 based on visible and infrared images. The infrared spectrum characteristics of silicate concrete can be an important supplement. The adaptive illumination-aware weight generation module is introduced to compute illumination probability to guide the training of the fusion network. In order to alleviate the problem of weak alignment of the multi-scale feature map, the FA-BIFPN feature pyramid module is proposed. The parallel structure of a dual backbone network takes 40% less time to train than a single backbone network. As determined through validation on FLIR, LLVIP, and VEDAI bimodal datasets, the fused images have more stable performance compared to the visible images. In addition, the detector proposed in this paper surpasses the current advanced YOLOV5 unimodal detector and CFT cross-modal fusion module. Skeleton-based action recognition is an important but challenging task in the study of video understanding and human-computer interaction. However, existing methods suffer from two deficiencies. On the one hand, most methods usually involve manually designed convolution kernel which cannot capture spatial-temporal joint dependencies of complex regions. On the other hand, some methods just use the self-attention mechanism, ignoring its theoretical explanation. In this paper, we proposed a unified spatio-temporal graph convolutional network with a self-attention mechanism (SA-GCN) for low-quality motion video data with fixed viewing angle. SA-GCN can extract features efficiently by learning weights between joint points of different scales. Specifically, the proposed self-attention mechanism is end-to-end with mapping strategy for different nodes, which not only characterizes the multi-scale dependencies of joints, but also integrates the structural features of the graph and an ability of self-learning fusion features. Moreover, the attention mechanism proposed in this paper can be theoretically explained by GCN to some extent, which is usually not considered in most existing models. Extensive experiments on two widely used datasets, NTU-60 RGB+D and NTU-120 RGB+D, demonstrated that SA-GCN significantly outperforms a series of existing mainstream approaches in terms of accuracy. The analysis of sentiments and mining of opinions have become more and more important in years because of the development of social media technologies. The methods that utilize natural language processing and lexicon‐based sentiment analysis techniques to analyze people's opinions in texts require the proper extraction of sentiment words to ensure accuracy. The current issue is tackled with a novel perspective in this paper by introducing a hybrid sentiment analysis technique. This technique brings together Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Hidden Markov Models (HMMs), to accurately categorize text data and pinpoint feelings. The proposed method involves 1D convolutional‐layer CNN to extract hidden features from comments and applying HMMs on a feature‐sentence matrix, allowing for the utilization of word sequences in extracting opinions. The method effectively captures diverse text patterns by extracting a range of features from texts using CNN. Text patterns are learned using text HMM by calculating the probabilities between sequences of feature vectors and clustering feature vectors. The paper's experimental evaluation employs benchmark datasets such as CR, MR, Subj, and SST2, demonstrating that the proposed method surpasses existing sentiment analysis techniques and traditional HMMs. One of its strengths is to analyze a range of text patterns and identify crucial features that recognize the emotion of different pieces of a sentence. Currently, medical imaging has largely supplanted traditional methods in the realm of diagnosis and treatment planning. This shift is primarily attributable to the non-invasive nature, rapidity, and user-friendliness of medical-imaging techniques. The widespread adoption of medical imaging, however, has shifted the bottleneck to healthcare professionals who must analyze each case post-image acquisition. This process is characterized by its sluggishness and subjectivity, making it susceptible to errors. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a frequently injured knee ligament, predominantly affects a youthful and sports-active demographic. ACL injuries often leave patients with substantial disabilities and alter knee mechanics. Since some of these cases necessitate surgery, it is crucial to accurately classify and detect ACL injury. This paper investigates the utilization of pre-trained convolutional neural networks featuring residual connections (ResNet) along with image-processing methods to identify ACL injury and differentiate between various tear levels. The ResNet employed in this study is not the standard ResNet but rather an adapted version capable of processing 3D volumes constructed from 2D image slices. Achieving a peak accuracy of 97.15% with a custom split, 96.32% through Monte-Carlo cross-validation, and 93.22% via five-fold cross-validation, our approach enhances the performance of three-class classifiers by over 7% in terms of raw accuracy. Moreover, we achieved an improvement of more than 1% across all types of evaluation. It is quite clear that the model's output can effectively serve as an initial diagnostic baseline for radiologists with minimal effort and nearly instantaneous results. Facility management maintains building service quality through cycles of condition assessments and rehabilitation. Building components, however, differ in their nature, service lives, deterioration patterns, and textual/visual inspection data. This complicates the condition assessment process and subsequent rehabilitation decisions. This paper proposes a smart condition assessment framework that uses different artificial intelligence (AI) techniques that suit the condition data analysis of different building components. The framework has been applied to a dataset of over 2000 maintenance requests for roof and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across a 600-villa portfolio. To address their varying needs, convolutional neural networks were used on images of roof defects, while enhanced data mining was used on textual data of HVAC systems. Accordingly, work packages of deteriorated components were identified, and a 60-day schedule was developed to repair 203 HVAC units. In order to explore the application of neural networks in the intelligent protection of digital music copyrights, this paper initially investigates the key aspects of digital music-related supply chain management (SCM). Subsequently, this paper introduces a fuzzy, comprehensive evaluation-based method for authenticating digital music infringement. Furthermore, it employs a convolutional neural network to analyze digital music's source components. Within this context, an attention mechanism and an adaptive gate model are meticulously designed. Moreover, a selective adaptive cascade is implemented to optimize the structure of the multi-resolution coder–decoder. Through fuzzy authentication, it becomes feasible to accurately and reliably track and verify copyright information pertaining to digital music, thus providing an effective protective mechanism for the digital music industry. Experimental results reveal that in comparison with the SHN-4 series models, the network model embedded with the channel space (CS) attention module achieves improvements of up to 0.04 dB in terms of performance metrics for human voice and accompaniment sources. Furthermore, it outperforms these models by up to 0.19 dB in music source separation metrics. The incorporation of the adaptive attention mechanism profoundly enhances the model's performance in audio source separation tasks, benefiting both vocal and accompaniment sources. This improvement is evident in the form of a 0.44 SDR enhancement for vocal sources and a 0.18 SDR enhancement for accompaniment sources. Additionally, the proposed two-stage music separation-gate self-attention model surpasses the two-stage music separation-gate model in metrics associated with human voice and accompaniment sources. This outcome convincingly underscores the enhanced effectiveness achieved by integrating CS, self-attention, and adaptive connection in network performance, as well as the adaptive gate structure for music copyright protection. Recent research has revealed that subtle imperceptible perturbations can deceive well-trained neural network models, leading to inaccurate outcomes. These instances, known as adversarial examples, pose significant threats to the secure application of machine learning techniques in safety-critical systems. In this paper, we delve into the study of one-pixel attacks in deep neural networks, recently reported as a kind of adversarial examples. To identify such one-pixel attacks, most existing methodologies rely on the differential evolution method, which utilizes random selection from the current population to escape local optima. However, the differential evolution technique might waste search time and overlook good solutions if the number of iterations is insufficient. Hence, in this paper, we propose a gradient ascent with momentum approach to efficiently discover good solutions for the one-pixel attack problem. As our method takes a more direct route to the goal compared to existing methods relying on blind random walks, it can effectively identify one-pixel attacks. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning technology, a large number of excellent convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been proposed, many of which are based on improvements to classical methods. Based on the Inception family of methods, depthwise separable convolution was applied to Xception to achieve lightweighting, and Inception-ResNet introduces residual connections to accelerate model convergence. However, existing improvements for the Inception module often neglect further enhancement of its receptive field, while increasing the receptive field of CNNs has been widely studied and proven to be effective in improving classification performance. Motivated by this fact, three effective expansion modules are proposed in this paper. The first expansion module, Inception expand (Inception-e) module, is proposed to improve the classification accuracy by concatenating more and deeper convolutional branches. To reduce the number of parameters for Inception e, this paper proposes a second expansion module—Equivalent Inception-e (Eception) module, which is equivalent to Inception-e in terms of feature extraction capability, but which suppresses the growth of the parameter quantity brought by the expansion by effectively reducing the redundant convolutional layers; on the basis of Eception, this paper proposes a third expansion module—Lightweight Eception (Lception) module, which crosses depthwise convolution with ordinary convolution to further effectively reduce the number of parameters. The three proposed modules have been validated on the Cifar10 dataset. The experimental results show that all these extensions are effective in improving the classification accuracy of the models, and the most significant effect is the Lception module, where Lception (rank = 4) on the Cifar10 dataset improves the accuracy by 1.5% compared to the baseline model (Inception module A) by using only 0.15 M more parameters. Since plant diseases occurring during the growth process are a significant factor leading to the decline in both yield and quality, the classification and detection of plant leaf diseases, followed by timely prevention and control measures, are crucial for safeguarding plant productivity and quality. As the traditional convolutional neural network structure cannot effectively recognize similar plant leaf diseases, in order to more accurately identify the diseases on plant leaves, this paper proposes an effective plant disease image recognition method aECA-ResNet34. This method is based on ResNet34, and in the first and the last layers of this network, respectively, we add this paper's improved aECAnet with the symmetric structure. aECA-ResNet34 is compared with different plant disease classification models on the peanut dataset constructed in this paper and the open-source PlantVillage dataset. The experimental results show that the aECA-ResNet34 model proposed in this paper has higher accuracy, better performance, and better robustness. The escalating worldwide power demand necessitates innovative solutions to address the emerging power crisis. Grid-synchronized electric vehicles (EVs) have emerged as a promising avenue for mitigating this crisis. The vehicle-to-grid technology is unique advanced smart grid concept by which the exchange of energy is allowed among grid and EV. The integration of EV and grid affects an entire power system causing imbalance in supply–demand, voltage and frequency. To minimize these issues, feasible optimization techniques are introduced in this paper. Lithium-ion batteries are initially charged via smart homes, and convolutional neural networks (CNN) are used to ascertain a battery's state of charge (SOC). A bidirectional SEPIC–zeta converter is employed in this paper by which voltage is either increased or decreased. The gating sequence for the converter is generated by means of adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system which depends on an estimated SOC. If the SOC is greater than 80%, battery is discharged using a SEPIC mode; if the SOC is lower than 80%, battery is charged by grid using the ZETA mode. By using a PI controller, active and reactive power are also controlled. Simulation results using MATLAB showcase the efficacy of the suggested approach. The bidirectional SEPIC–Zeta converter exhibits an impressive efficiency of 96% and a voltage gain ratio of 1:8 when compared to other converters. CNN-based SOC tracking achieves remarkable tracking efficiency of 92.3%, outperforming other tracking methods. Diseases of tomato leaves can seriously damage crop yield and financial rewards. The timely and accurate detection of tomato diseases is a major challenge in agriculture. Hence, the early and accurate diagnosis of tomato diseases is crucial. The emergence of deep learning has dramatically helped in plant disease detection. However, the accuracy of deep learning models largely depends on the quantity and quality of training data. To solve the inter-class imbalance problem and improve the generalization ability of the classification model, this paper proposes a cycle-consistent generative-adversarial-network-based Transformer model to generate diseased tomato leaf images for data augmentation. In addition, this paper uses a Transformer model and densely connected CNN architecture to extract multilevel local features. The Transformer module is utilized to capture global dependencies and contextual information accurately to expand the sensory field of the model. Experiments show that the proposed model achieved 99.45% accuracy on the PlantVillage dataset. The 2018 Artificial Intelligence Challenger dataset and the private dataset attained accuracies of 98.30% and 95.4%, and the proposed classification model achieved a higher accuracy and smaller model size compared to previous deep learning models. This paper designs a new facial Expression recognition network called a multi‐scale feature Fusion Convolutional neural Network (EFCN). This network is proposed to solve two problems in the facial expression recognition task. First, there are many commonalities between faces of different expression categories, and the recognition task cannot be precisely performed when the commonality is greater than the individuality. Secondly, facial detail features have a significant impact on the final results of expression recognition, while the image detail features extracted by traditional convolutional neural networks are not sufficient. In order to address the above issues, the feature enhancement network (FEN) and the detail information enhancement module (DEM) are designed. The FEN fuses deep and shallow features. Accordingly, the feature map contains richer information, making it easy to identify the samples. The DEM extracts and fuses the features passed by the backbone network with multi‐scale features to enhance the network's ability to extract features from small regions of the face. We validated the proposed method on three datasets, RAF‐DB, CK+, and JAFFE, and achieved 84.50%, 97.86%, and 91.05% accuracy, respectively, and the experimental results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method in this paper. Single image super‐resolution (SISR) has gained significant attention in image processing and computer vision, driven by deep learning‐based models like convolutional neural networks (CNN). Yet, the resource‐intensive nature of these models poses challenges when deploying them on edge devices. To address this issue, resource‐constrained models need to be developed. While recent models like the information distillation network (IDN), the information multi‐distillation network (IMDN), the residual feature distillation network (RFDN), and so on, have attempted to reduce parameters and computational complexity, further optimization remains vital. Therefore, this paper presents an approach to enhancing the efficiency and lightweight nature of the SISR. We introduce a novel lightweight SR model by building upon the RFDN architecture, the winner of the AIM2020 and NTIRE2022 SR challenges. The proposed depthwise channel attention network (DWCAN) model makes some key changes to RFDN. First, it replaces the main residual feature distillation block (RFDB) with a depthwise channel attention block (DWCAB). Additionally, DWCAN includes a shallow residual block (SRB) with depthwise separable convolution (DW) and a channel attention (CA) block. The primary goal of our work is to significantly reduce model parameters, computational operations, inference time, and memory size while maintaining or improving a peak signal‐to‐noise ratio (PSNR) of 29 dB. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. By applying our modifications, we achieve a notable reduction in model complexity, leading to an improved PSNR of 29.07 dB, up from RFDN's 29.04 dB on a diverse 2 K resolution (DIV2K) dataset. This underscores the potential of our lightweight model to balance computational efficiency and SR quality. Additionally, the proposed work is essential for the metaverse for two key reasons: (1) Enhancing visual quality by adding complex details to textures and objects, making the digital world feel more like reality. Image semantic segmentation technology is one of the core research contents in the field of computer vision. With the improvement of computer performance and the continuous development of deep learning technology, researchers have more and more enthusiasm to study the actual effect and performance of image semantic segmentation. The results of deep semantic segmentation allow computers to have a more detailed and accurate understanding of images, and have a wide range of application needs in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent security, medical imaging, remote sensing images, etc. However, the existing image semantic segmentation algorithms have the disadvantages of easy discontinuous results and insufficient prediction accuracy. In this paper, we take deep learning-based image semantic segmentation technology as the research object to explore the improvement of the image semantic segmentation algorithm and its application in road scenarios. First, this paper proposes MCU-Net method based on residual fusion and multi-scale contextual information. MCU-Net uses residual fusion module to deepen the network structure and improve the ability of U-Net to acquire deeper features. Then a top-down and bottom-up path is constructed for feature information between different levels, and the spatial and semantic information contained in shallow and deep features in the network is fully utilized by fusing features from different levels. In addition, an enhanced void space pyramid pooling module is added for feature information between the same levels, which enables the output features to have a larger range of semantic information. Second, this paper proposes the DAMCU-Net method based on attention mechanism and edge detection based on MCU-Net. DAMCU-Net extracts global contextual information by the attention mechanism optimization module, while fusing features using dense jump connections to facilitate the network to recover more spatial detail information during upsampling, and uses the FReLU activation function to improve the segmentation capability of the network for complex targets. For the edge information lost in the feature extraction process, the edge detection branch is added to supplement the feature information of the main path by feature fusion to achieve the optimization of the edge information. This paper focuses on deep vision sensing-assisted gesture recognition for athletes in dynamic scenes. Although many research attention had been devoted to this field in recent years, most of existing works failed to fully take characteristics of dynamic scenes into consideration. To deal with this challenge, this paper proposes a diffusion convolution neural network-based multiview gesture recognition approach in dynamic scenes. For one thing, the dynamic spatiotemporal slice position selection based on the body mask heatmap is adopted to calculate positions of horizontal and vertical slices. Thus, the dynamic selection of slice positions in two directions can be realized, and then the extraction of bi-directional spatiotemporal slice images can be completed. For another, action sequences through the 3D residual neural network are learned, and the spatiotemporal information among frames are mined through recurrent networks. Through their combination, a multi-view gesture recognition approach for athletes is constructed. In the experiments, two standard datasets UCF101 and HMDB51 are utilized to establish simulation environment. The proposed method can reach the accuracy beyond 95% on the two datasets. Mobile crowdsensing (MCS) systems rely on the collective contribution of sensor data from numerous mobile devices carried by participants. However, the open and participatory nature of MCS renders these systems vulnerable to adversarial attacks or data poisoning attempts where threat actors can inject malicious data into the system. There is a need for a detection system that mitigates malicious sensor data to maintain the integrity and reliability of the collected information. This paper addresses this issue by proposing an adaptive and robust model for detecting malicious data in MCS scenarios involving sensor data from mobile devices. The proposed model incorporates an adaptive learning mechanism that enables the TCN-based model to continually evolve and adapt to new patterns, enhancing its capability to detect novel malicious data as threats evolve. We also present a comprehensive evaluation of the proposed model's performance using the SherLock datasets, demonstrating its effectiveness in accurately detecting malicious sensor data and mitigating potential threats to the integrity of MCS systems. Comparative analysis with existing models highlights the performance of the proposed TCN-based model in terms of detection accuracy, with an accuracy score of 98%. This paper presents a novel sound event detection (SED) system for rare events occurring in an open environment. Wavelet multiresolution analysis (MRA) is used to decompose the input audio clip of 30 seconds into five levels. Wavelet denoising is then applied on the third and fifth levels of MRA to filter out the background. Significant transitions, which may represent the onset of a rare event, are then estimated in these two levels by combining the peak-finding algorithm with the K-medoids clustering algorithm. The small portions of one-second duration, called 'chunks' are cropped from the input audio signal corresponding to the estimated locations of the significant transitions. Features from these chunks are extracted by the wavelet scattering network (WSN) and are given as input to a support vector machine (SVM) classifier, which classifies them. The proposed SED framework produces an error rate comparable to the SED systems based on convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture. Also, the proposed algorithm is computationally efficient and lightweight as compared to deep learning models, as it has no learnable parameter. It requires only a single epoch of training, which is 5, 10, 200, and 600 times lesser than the models based on CNNs and deep neural networks (DNNs), CNN with long short-term memory (LSTM) network, convolutional recurrent neural network (CRNN), and CNN respectively. The proposed model neither requires concatenation with previous frames for anomaly detection nor any additional training data creation needed for other comparative deep learning models. It needs to check almost 360 times fewer chunks for the presence of rare events than the other baseline systems used for comparison in this paper. Due to the uncertainty of weather conditions and the nonlinearity of high-dimensional data, as well as the need for a continuous and stable power supply to the power system, traditional regression analysis and time series forecasting methods are no longer able to meet the high accuracy requirements of today's PV power forecasting. To significantly improve the prediction accuracy of short-term PV output power, this paper proposes a short-term PV power forecasting method based on a hybrid model of temporal convolutional networks and gated recurrent units with an efficient channel attention network (TCN-ECANet-GRU) using the generated data of an Australian PV power station as the research object. First, temporal convolutional networks (TCNs) are used as spatial feature extraction layers, and an efficient channel attention network (ECANet) is embedded to enhance the feature capture capability of the convolutional network. Then, the GRU is used to extract the timing information for the final prediction. Finally, based on the experimental validation, the TCN-ECANet-GRU method generally outperformed the other baseline models in all four seasons of the year according to three performance assessment metrics: the normalized root mean square error (RMSE), normalized mean absolute error (MAE) and coefficient of determination (R2). The best RMSE, MAE and R2 reached 0.0195, 0.0128 and 99.72%, respectively, with maximum improvements of 11.32%, 8.57% and 0.38%, respectively, over those of the suboptimal model. Therefore, the model proposed in this paper is effective at improving prediction accuracy. Using the proposed method, this paper concludes with multistep predictions of 3, 6, and 9 steps, which also indicates that the proposed method significantly outperforms the other models. Using the CRISPR-Cas9 system to perform base substitutions at the target site is a typical technique for genome editing with the potential for applications in gene therapy and agricultural productivity. When the CRISPR-Cas9 system uses guide RNA to direct the Cas9 endonuclease to the target site, it may misdirect it to a potential off-target site, resulting in an unintended genome editing. Although several computational methods have been proposed to predict off-target effects, there is still room for improvement in the off-target effect prediction capability. In this paper, we present an effective approach called CRISPR-M with a new encoding scheme and a novel multi-view deep learning model to predict the sgRNA off-target effects for target sites containing indels and mismatches. CRISPR-M takes advantage of convolutional neural networks and bidirectional long short-term memory recurrent neural networks to construct a three-branch network towards multi-views. Compared with existing methods, CRISPR-M demonstrates significant performance advantages running on real-world datasets. Furthermore, experimental analysis of CRISPR-M under multiple metrics reveals its capability to extract features and validates its superiority on sgRNA off-target effect predictions. Utilizing multi-modal data, as opposed to only hyperspectral image (HSI), enhances target identification accuracy in remote sensing. Transformers are applied to multi-modal data classification for their long-range dependency but often overlook intrinsic image structure by directly flattening image blocks into vectors. Moreover, as the encoder deepens, unprofitable information negatively impacts classification performance. Therefore, this paper proposes a learnable transformer with an adaptive gating mechanism (AGMLT). Firstly, a spectral–spatial adaptive gating mechanism (SSAGM) is designed to comprehensively extract the local information from images. It mainly contains point depthwise attention (PDWA) and asymmetric depthwise attention (ADWA). The former is for extracting spectral information of HSI, and the latter is for extracting spatial information of HSI and elevation information of LiDAR-derived rasterized digital surface models (LiDAR-DSM). By omitting linear layers, local continuity is maintained. Then, the layer Scale and learnable transition matrix are introduced to the original transformer encoder and self-attention to form the learnable transformer (L-Former). It improves data dynamics and prevents performance degradation as the encoder deepens. Subsequently, learnable cross-attention (LC-Attention) with the learnable transfer matrix is designed to augment the fusion of multi-modal data by enriching feature information. Finally, poly loss, known for its adaptability with multi-modal data, is employed in training the model. Experiments in the paper are conducted on four famous multi-modal datasets: Trento (TR), MUUFL (MU), Augsburg (AU), and Houston2013 (HU).
