The paper describes quantitative and qualitative dimensions of nanomedicine research studies in India. The study is based on research publications data in nanomedicine research (1491 publications) as covered in Scopus data base for the period 2002-20. The study finds that nanomedicine research in India registered a high 73.7% growth with an average of 22.93 citations per paper. The nano-oncology subfield accounted for the highest share (48.49% share) in the national output, followed by seven other nanomedicine subfields. Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi lead as the most productive organizations in the country. The paper also lists the most productive authors in nanomedicine research. The most productive research journals that reported nanomedicine research in India include Nanomedicine, International Journal of Nanomedicine and Current Pharmaceutical Design. Nanoparticles have been considered in many fields such as medicine and industry due to their very small size and their special physicochemical properties. Biosynthesis of nanoparticles has advantages over other methods. This paper examines the bibliography of the relationship between nanotechnology and fungi from 1985 to 2021. Data were collected from three databases consisting of Web of Science, Scopus, and Dimensions. The number and type of documents were examined and then the analysis was continued using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix-package on the documents of the Scopus database. Analysis of 1203 documents from this database showed an upward trend in the publication in recent years. The term "Fungi" was also identified as the keyword index and India as the country with the most published documents. Future research is likely to be on using modern techniques in the study of nanoparticles as well as focusing on other genera of fungi. This paper explores the relationship between nanotechnology and fungi from 1985 to 2021. Biosynthesis offers advantages in creating nanoparticles, which are tiny particles with unique properties used in many fields. Data from three databases were analysed, indicating an increasing trend in publications in recent years. 2008 can be considered a watershed year for generic medicine in India, as it saw the launch of the Jan Aushadi scheme, to provide cost-effective quality medicines to its populace, through special stores called Jan Aushadi stores. With more than 8800 stores, the scheme is touted as one of the world's largest pharmaceutical retail chains. Since then, many generic medicine start-ups have also launched operations in the country- Zeno Health, One India Pharmacy, Generic Aadhaar and StayHappi Generics. These supply side developments will however have to be complemented with commensurate demand side responses for it make a sustainable impact towards the push for affordable and accessible healthcare for all (Sustainable Development Goal 3). Many studies have established that, on the demand side, owing to the lack of requisite medical knowledge on part of the patients, there exists a strong agency relationship, where patients rely heavily on their physicians (prescribers) to make decisions on choice of treatments. Though promotion of generic medicines requires a coordinated effort from many stakeholders, analysis reveals that the prescribers, and hence their perception of generics, plays a pivotal role in their adoption. This study undertakes a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most-cited research papers published between 2012 and 2022 on the perception of prescribers towards generic medicine from SCOPUS database. Suitable keywords have been incorporated to reach the relevant publications and VOSviewer (version 1.6.10) has been used for analysis. The findings of the study recommend further research on interventions aimed at improving prescriber's perception towards generic medicines to enhance their adoption and promote cost effective healthcare delivery. Ayurveda is the ancient medical system in India that uses nasal therapy. During COVID -19 pandemic, the ministry of AYUSH provided guidelines to boost immunity. The Nasya (nasal delivery) was one of the recommendations by the AYUSH ministry to boost immunity. Nasya has been still in practice for various ailments like chronic rhinitis, headache, cervical spondylosis, Dyspnea, etc., but the knowledge about how Nasya works is still unclear. This review article discusses the practice and current advances in nasal delivery in modern science. It also discusses the possible mechanism of how Nasya can act and boost immunity and what research can be done in the form of clinical and experimental studies to increase the knowledge and understanding of Nasya. Insects are the largest group of arthropods with the highest faunal diversity of over a million species. Apart from many other roles in the environment, the aspect of several insects being used for human consumption (entomophagy) and as traditional medicine (entomotherapy) by different communities of the world holds special significance for countering global food crisis. The enormous insect resources contribute a reasonable share in improving the livelihoods of many entomophagy practicing communities. Considering this significance, the present review emphasizes the bio-economic potential of insect resources. An overview of entomophagy practices in India; benefits towards the environment, humans and animals; insect species used in entomophagy along with therapeutic importance, nutritional, physical, chemical, and microbiological hazards; farming and mass production technologies; legal status and socio-economic implications in Indian scenario have been presented. Traditionally tested and accepted therapeutic use of edible insects have been reported to cure various disease conditions and calls for scientific exploration and validation to rediscover promising medical products of modern medicine. Edible insects as an alternative food need to be popularized in India with a new policy or regulation to harvest and sell insect-derived food products with proper safe consumption demonstrations. Considering the facts that insects reproduce in large numbers at a faster rate, require less land, water and other resources for farming, and economically and ecologically sustainable harvesting can be done in a short time, insect farming can offer revenue and rural job opportunities in developing countries, especially in India. Oxidative stress is considered one of the possible mechanisms behind chemobrain or the cognitive dysfunction persistent after chemotherapy treatment. Breast cancer patients have reported chemobrain symptoms since the 1990s. In this present bibliometric review, we employed the VOSviewer tool to describe the existing landscape on literature concerning oxidative stress, breast cancer chemotherapies, and chemobrain. As of 2019, 8799 papers were listed in the Web of Science database, with more than 900 papers published each year. As expected, terms relating to oxidative stress, mitochondria, breast cancer, and antioxidants have occurred very often in the literature throughout the years. In recent years, there has been an increase in the occurrence of terms related to nanomedicine. Only within the last decade do the keywords 'brain', 'blood-brain barrier', and 'central nervous system' appear, reflecting an increased interest in chemobrain. China has become the most prolific producer of oxidative stress and chemotherapy related papers in the last decade followed by the USA and India. Nanomedicine is a novel and challenging field in terms of its governance. It is gradually emerging that the existing regulatory regimes may not be able to accommodate the requirements of nanomedicine without amendments or supportive measures. Further, its multidisciplinary essence poses challenges and indicates a need for an adaptive regulatory framework for governance as well as promotion of innovation system. The best strategy to govern nanomedicine remains highly debatable across the globe. Although, major challenges posed by nanomedicine are universal, some of them are specific to each country, hence, making a jurisdiction-based framework essential to address unique needs of a nation. In India, a clear framework for the regulation of nanomedicine is lacking, as this governance gap has been realized through various studies. Keeping this in view, the authors propose a multi-level national governance system for regulation of nanomedicine in India based on four principles. The hierarchical governance model proposed involves regulatory space, policy regime, sites of governance and lifecycle of nanomedicine. The proposed system is inclusive of its various stakeholders. For the last few decades, nanotechnology has emerged as one of the key subject areas in which aggressive development is taking place. The multidisciplinary approach of nanotechnology has opened up a new sphere of research in warfare, engineering, medicine, physics, textile, energy, biology, chemistry, automobiles, agriculture, etc. It has influenced society in every walk of life. Realizing the potential of nanotechnology, the countries across the world have been spending massive amounts and aggressively initiating various programs in research and development of nanotechnology. In this study, efforts are being made to measure the nanotechnology research output published in the form of scholarly literature. The data, for the period of 2014 to 2018, were extracted from the Scopus abstract and citation database and analyzed by using bibliometric techniques. The findings show that China has surpassed the USA by producing more number of scholarly publications in the area of nanotechnology but indicated reservation while collaborating with other countries, whereas the USA has been the second-highest producer of nanotechnology research output and preferred as the most favored nation by other countries to collaborate with in the field of nanotechnology. India attained the third position with respect to nanotechnology publications but has low international collaboration and the quality of publications is also a concern.
