The commonly used automatic segmentation algorithms often have over-segmentation and error-segmentation problems when segmenting conglutinated bone fragments in computed tomography (CT) images. And the end face details of the fragments are lost in this process. At present, bone fragments are often manually segmented by doctors. This increases the workload of doctors and takes low efficiency and poor accuracy in bone segmentation. We propose an automatic bone fragment segmentation algorithm based on morphology to segment the conglutinated and separated bone fragments and reconstruct them in 2D and 3D spaces. The pixel classification and clustering method based on morphology are proposed in in the algorithm to identify the pixels in the fracture images. And a concave points detection method is proposed to segment the conglutination area of the fractured bone. This algorithm and two other commonly used algorithms are used in the experiment to segment the three typical fracture images. The segmentation results are quantitatively analyzed to demonstrate the advantages of the morphology algorithm. The morphology algorithm performs well in the metrics of Accuracy (.93 ±.07), Sensitivity (.92 ±.08), Dice coefficient (.92 ±.08) and Mean intersection over union (MIoU) (.92 ±.07). The segmentation results of this algorithm are closest to the manual segmentation results of doctors compared to the other two algorithms. We have demonstrated that the algorithm proposed in this paper has good segmentation accuracy for separated and conglutinated bone fragments. Super304H steel, imbued with trace amounts of TiC/TiB2 nano-particles, was fabricated to assess the influence of nano-particles on its creep properties under the condition of 600 °C/330 MPa. Our findings elucidate that the inclusion of trace TiC/TiB2 led to a 21% improvement in the creep life of Super304H steel, while diminishing the creep rate from 6.6 × 10−5 h−1 to 5.7 × 10−5 h−1. The synergistic precipitation strengthening of the nano-scale Cu-rich phases, needle-like M23C6 phases, and NbN phases was primarily responsible for this exceptional creep resistance. During the long-term creep process, the nano-scale Cu-rich phase was very stable with little change. In the Super304H steel, M23C6 and NbN phases had a non-coherent interface and an orientation relationship of 001 NbN // 001 M 23 C 6 . M23C6 and NbN phases in the Super304H steel incorporating minute TiC/TiB2 nano-particles also had a non-coherent interface but a 1 - 10 NbN // 2 - 33 M 23 C 6 orientation relationship. With the rapid increase in lithium consumption for electric vehicle applications, its price soared during the past decade. To secure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain, it is critical to unlock alternative lithium extraction resources beyond conventional brine. In this study, we develop an electrochemical method to directly leach lithium from α-phase spodumene. We find the H2O2 promoter can significantly reduce the leaching potential by facilitating the electron transfer and changing the reaction path. Upon leaching, β-phase spodumene shows a typical phase transformation to HAlSi2O6, while leached α-phase remains its original crystal phase with a lattice shrinkage. To demonstrate the scale-up potential of electrochemical leaching, we design a catalyst-modified high-throughput current collector for high loading of suspended spodumene, achieving a leaching current of 18 mA and a leaching efficiency of 92.2%. Electrochemical leaching will revolutionize traditional leaching and recycling processes by minimizing the environmental footprint and energy consumption. Sustainable harvesting of lithium is critical to the success of the entire battery industry. Precisely modulating the Ru-O covalency in RuOx for enhanced stability in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis is highly desired. However, transition metals with d-valence electrons, which were doped into or alloyed with RuOx, are inherently susceptible to the influence of coordination environment, making it challenging to modulate the Ru-O covalency in a precise and continuous manner. Here, we first deduce that the introduction of lanthanide with gradually changing electronic configurations can continuously modulate the Ru-O covalency owing to the shielding effect of 5s/5p orbitals. Theoretical calculations confirm that the durability of Ln-RuOx following a volcanic trend as a function of Ru-O covalency. Among various Ln-RuOx, Er-RuOx is identified as the optimal catalyst and possesses a stability 35.5 times higher than that of RuO2. Particularly, the Er-RuOx-based device requires only 1.837 V to reach 3 A cm−2 and shows a long-term stability at 500 mA cm−2 for 100 h with a degradation rate of mere 37 μV h−1. Lack of stability in RuO2-based catalysts at industrial currents impedes their use in green hydrogen production. Here, the authors show that incorporating lanthanide elements into RuOx shields against external factors, enabling fine-tuned Ru-O covalency for durable oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalysis. This paper is concerned with quantile regression (QR) inference of varying-coefficient partially nonlinear models where the response is subject to randomly left truncation. A three-stage estimation procedure for parameter and coefficient functions is proposed based on the weights which are random quantities and determined by the product-limit estimates of the distribution function of truncated variable. The asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are established. Further, a variable selection procedure is developed by combining the quantile loss function with the adaptive LASSO penalty to get sparse estimation of the parameter. The proposed penalized QR estimators are shown to possess the oracle property. In addition, a bootstrap-based test procedure is proposed via an extended generalized likelihood ratio test statistic to check whether the coefficient function has a specific parametric form. As an autoimmune disease, up to 73% of patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) have a combination of extrahepatic autoimmune diseases (EHAIDs); however, the causal relationship between PBC and EHAIDs is unclear. The genome-wide association analyses provided 14 GWAS data for PBC and EHAIDs, and bidirectional, two-sample MR analyses were performed to examine the relationship between PBC and EHAIDs. The analysis using MR provides a strong and meaningful estimation of the bidirectional correlation between PBC and 7 EHAIDs: rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjögren's syndrome, systemic sclerosis, autoimmune hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis of its types. In addition, PBC increases the risk of autoimmune thyroid diseases such as autoimmune hyperthyroidism and Graves' disease, as well as multiple sclerosis and psoriasis. Additionally, PBC is identified as a risk factor for Crohn's disease and Celiac disease. Based on genetic evidence, there may be connections between PBC and specific EHAIDs: not all coexisting EHAIDs induce PBC, and vice versa. This underscores the significance of prioritizing PBC in clinical practice. In this study, we aim to assess dynamical downscaling simulations by utilizing a novel bias-corrected global climate model (GCM) data to drive a regional climate model (RCM) over the Asia-western North Pacific region. Three simulations were conducted with a 25-km grid spacing for the period 1980–2014. The first simulation (WRF_ERA5) was driven by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5 (ERA5) dataset and served as the validation dataset. The original GCM dataset (MPI-ESM1-2-HR model) was used to drive the second simulation (WRF_GCM), while the third simulation (WRF_GCMbc) was driven by the bias-corrected GCM dataset. The bias-corrected GCM data has an ERA5-based mean and interannual variance and long-term trends derived from the ensemble mean of 18 CMIP6 models. Results demonstrate that the WRFGCMbc significantly reduced the root-mean-square errors (RMSEs) of the climatological mean of downscaled variables, including temperature, precipitation, snow, wind, relative humidity, and planetary boundary layer height by 50%–90% compared to the WRF_GCM. Similarly, the RMSEs of interannual-to-interdecadal variances of downscaled variables were reduced by 30%–60%. Furthermore, the WRFGCMbc better captured the annual cycle of the monsoon circulation and intraseasonal and day-to-day variabilities. The leading empirical orthogonal function (EOF) shows a monopole precipitation mode in the WRFGCM. In contrast, the WRF_GCMbc successfully reproduced the observed tri-pole mode of summer precipitation over eastern China. As a politically and culturally important city cluster, the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region (BTH) has huge electricity and water consumption, while the local power generation capacity and water resources may not be sustainable long term according to the current power generation ratio. We introduced up-to-date strategic policies in China, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality (dual carbon goals), to assess their impact on environmental protection and economic development. Thus, we constructed a dynamic multi-regional computable general equilibrium model to simulate these changes in BTH. We designed four carbon reduction scenarios to explore the impact of policies including carbon taxes, investment, and renewable energy subsidies individually or combined. The findings reveal that implementing these policies together can increase the proportion of renewable energy in power generation to 17.2% (Beijing), 9.4% (Tianjin), and 33.2% (Hebei) by 2060. Under various policy scenarios, the Tax Scenario shows the largest water withdrawal savings, while the Investment Scenario shows the largest GDP growth by 2060. The combined implementation of these policies may minimize the negative impact on the economy while developing an environmentally friendly region. The results of the Combination Scenario are closest to carbon neutrality, narrowing the gap to 10.71%, 9.98%, and 9.85%, respectively. Conservation (water and electricity) and carbon reduction can provide significant support for carbon neutrality and sustainable development strategies. Dynamical downscaling is vital for generating finer-scale climate projections. Recently, a set of simulations under four types of 1.5/2 °C global warming scenarios are available with Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology Earth System Model (NESM). However, NESM3's bias in large-scale driving variables would degrade downscaled simulations. We corrected NESM3 bias in terms of climate mean and inter-annual variance against ERA5 using a novel bias correction method and then produced a set of bias-corrected datasets for dynamical downscaling. The bias-corrected NESM3 spans the historical period for 1979–2014 and four future scenarios (i.e., 1.5 °C overshoot for 2070–2100, stabilized 1.5/2 °C for 2070–2100, and transient 2 °C for 2031–2061) with 1.25° × 1.25° horizontal resolution at six-hourly intervals. Our evaluation suggests that bias-corrected NESM3 outperforms the original NESM3 in the climatological mean of seasonal mean and variability, as well as climate extreme events during the historical period. Introduction: Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammatory infiltration, and dysfunction of the salivary and lacrimal glands. This research aimed to explore the disease pathogenesis and improve the diagnosis and treatment of pSS by mining inflammation-associated biomarkers. Methods: Five pSS-related datasets were retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Inflammation-associated biomarkers were determined by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and support vector machines recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE). Single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) was implemented to profile the infiltration levels of immune cells. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) verified the expression of biomarkers in clinical samples. Results: Four genes (LY6E, EIF2AK2, IL15, and CXCL10) were screened as inflammation-associated biomarkers in pSS, the predictive performance of which were determined among three pSS-related datasets (AUC > 0.7). Functional enrichment results suggested that the biomarkers were involved in immune and inflammation-related pathways. Immune infiltration analysis revealed that biomarkers were notably connected with type 2 T helper cells, regulatory T cells which were significantly expressed between pSS and control. TESTOSTERONE and CYCLOSPORINE were predicted to take effect by targeting CXCL10 and IL15 in pSS, respectively. Conclusion: Four inflammation-associated biomarkers (LY6E, EIF2AK2, IL15, and CXCL10) were explored, and the underlying regulatory mechanisms and targeted drugs associated with these biomarkers were preliminarily investigated according to a series of bioinformatics methods based on the online datasets of pSS, which provided a reference for understanding the pathogenesis of pSS. In this paper, we define estimators of distribution functions when the data are right-censored and the censoring indicators are missing at random, and establish their strong representations and asymptotic normality. Besides, based on empirical likelihood method, we define maximum empirical likelihood estimators and smoothed log-empirical likelihood ratios of two-sample quantile difference in the presence and absence of auxiliary information, respectively, and prove their asymptotic distributions. In this study, we present a supramolecular templating approach for constructing polyimidazolium salt containing crown ether and cyclobutane moieties. This strategy involves the formation of metal-carbene templates, photochemical cycloaddition, and subsequent demetallation of metal ions. Driven by the host-guest chemistry between crown ether units and ammonium salts, we successfully fabricated a supramolecular polymer SPN1, which features imidazolium receptors and cyclobutane units. Stroke incidence is the most severe complication associated with atrial fibrillation (AF), and the most common site of thrombus formation in AF patients is the left atrial appendage (LAA). This study was developed to use two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI) to explore associations between LAA strain/strain rate and stroke incidence and to evaluate the value of utilizing LAA strain and strain rate values to support the stratification of nonvalvular AF (NVAF) patients based on stroke risk. A total of 486 AF patients who had undergone transesophageal echocardiography to exclude potential intracardiac thrombosis between March 2021 and November 2022 were consecutively enrolled. Patients meeting the inclusion criteria were separated into two groups according to their history of stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA). LAA strain and strain rate values in these patients were measured via 2D-STI. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was employed to determine independent risk factors for the construction of a combined predictive model. Of the 333 analyzed patients (134 females, aged 65 (56,72) years), 39 (11.71%, 39/333) had a history of stroke at the time of evaluation. Multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that nonparoxysmal AF, CHA2DS2VASc score, LAA thrombus/spontaneous echo contrast (SEC), LAA strain, and strain rate were all predictors of stroke incidence among NVAF patients. The combined predictive model demonstrated excellent discriminative ability, with an AUC of 0.91 (95%CI 0.87–0.95, P < 0.001), and a sensitivity and specificity of 79.49% and 89.46%, respectively. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test confirmed good calibration, yielding a value of 0.98. Comparative decision curve analysis showed that the model provided superior net benefits compared to the CHA2DS2VASc score. Furthermore, the model exhibited improved predictive performance and reclassification for stroke when compared to the CHA2DS2VASc score (AUC 0.91 vs. 0.88, Z = 2.32, P = 0.02), accompanied by a significant increase in the net reclassification index (+ 5.44%, P < 0.001) and integrated discrimination improvement (8.21%, P < 0.001). These data demonstrate that LAA strain and strain rate, as measured via 2D-STI, can offer value when assessing LAA function in AF patients, potentially providing further predictive value to extant clinical risk scoring strategies. Developing a facile and feasible strategy to fabricate thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials exhibiting full-color tunability remains an appealing yet challenging task. In this work, a general supramolecular strategy for fabricating thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials is proposed. Consequently, a series of host–guest cocrystals are prepared by electron-donating calix[3]acridan and various electron-withdrawing guests. Owing to the through-space charge transfer mediated by multiple noncovalent interactions, these cocrystals all display efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence. Especially, by delicately modulating the electron-withdrawing ability of the guest molecules, the emission colors of these cocrystals can be continuously tuned from blue (440 nm) to red (610 nm). Meanwhile, high photoluminescence quantum yields of up to 87% is achieved. This research not only provides an alternative and general strategy for the fabrication of thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials, but also establishes a reliable supramolecular protocol toward the design of advanced luminescent materials. Amyloid-β (Aβ) and tau are important biomarkers to predict the progression of cognitively unimpaired (CU) to dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD), according to the diagnosis framework from the US National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association (NIA-AA). However, it is clinically difficult to predict those subjects who were already with Aβ positive (A +) or tau positive (T +). As a typical characteristic of neurodegeneration in the diagnosis framework, the hypometabolism of the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) has significant clinical value in the early prediction and prevention of AD. In this paper, we proposed the glucose metabolism in the PCC as a biomarker supplement to Aβ and tau biomarkers. First, we calculated the standard uptake value ratio (SUVR) of PCC based on fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission computed tomography (FDG PET) imaging. Secondly, we performed Kaplan–Meier (KM) survival analyses to explore the predictive performance of PCC SUVR, and the hazard ratio (HR) was calculated. Finally, we performed Pearson correlation analyses to explore the physiological significance of PCC SUVR. As a result, the PCC SUVR showed a consistent downward trend along the AD continuum. KM analyses showed better predictive performance when we combined PCC SUVR with cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) Aβ42 (from HR = 2.56 to 3.00 within 5 years; from HR = 2.76 to 4.20 within 10 years) and ptau-181 (from 2.83 to 3.91 within 5 years; from HR = 2.32 to 4.17 within 10 years). There was a slight correlation between Aβ42/Aβ40 and PCC SUVR (r = 0.14, p = 0.02). In addition, several cognition scales were also correlated to PCC SUVR (from r = –0.407 to 0.383, p < 0.05). Due to the ferrite–austenite dual phase at high temperature, the hard martensite phase was introduced into 430 ferritic stainless steel (430 FSS) by rapid cooling. Through thermodynamic calculation and experimental analysis, the influence of martensite on the microstructure, texture, and mechanical properties of 430 FSS during deformation and annealing was studied. The research results show that, after quenching at 800–1150°C, there is a martensite structure along the ferrite grain boundary. The grain size of the ferrite and martensite increases with the increase of the heat-treatment temperature. The hard martensite can effectively break down the ferrite band structure during the cold-rolling deformation process. After high-temperature annealing in the same process, the martensite disappears and the matrix is full ferrite. Among them, the recrystallized grain size of the 1150°C-quenched sheet is larger than that of the 1050°C- and 950°C-quenched strips, showing a stronger γ-fiber recrystallized texture. Also, the finished annealed sheet quenched at 1150°C has a good match of strength and elongation, with a tensile strength of 690.3 MPa and an elongation of 17%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Leonurus japonicus Houtt. (Lamiaceae) is a perennial herb, which is commonly used in the treatment of cardiovascular, uterine, and gynecological diseases. In the present study, we constructed a phylogenetic tree based on the ITS + psbA-trnH + rbcL + rpoB concatenation sequence and performed partial least squares-discriminant analysis was used high-performance liquid chromatography. The results indicated that the concatenation sequence could distinguish among L. japonicus from different origins. Additionally, chemical analysis revealed intergroup differences, albeit of lower quality than the molecular phylogeny. By combining both methods, we were able to correlate the genetic and chemical differences among L. japonicus derived from different origins. Furthermore, our combined chemical and phylogenetic analyses suggested that differences in metabolites are not solely influenced by genetic differences but also environmental factors. Background: The role of liver stiffness measurements (LSM) in patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) remains to be further elucidated. Aims: To clarify the prognostic role of LSM and to validate the "novel concepts" proposed by the Baveno VII Working Group. Methods: An analysis of the prognostic significance of LSM was performed involving 672 patients. Results: LSM and ΔLSM/ΔT were independent risk factors for liver decompensation, liver transplantation, or liver-related death (primary outcomes, p < 0.001, both). A rule of 5 kPa for LSM (10–15–20 kPa) could be used to denote progressively higher relative risks of primary outcomes. Patients with LSM < 10 kPa have a negligible 3-year risk of primary outcomes (< 1%). Cut-off values of 10 and 15 kPa can be used to classify PBC patients into low-, medium-, and high-risk groups. A clinically significant decrease in LSM, evaluated at 6, 12, or 24 months elastography tests, was associated with a substantially reduced risk of primary outcomes (p < 0.05, all), which can be defined as a decrease in LSM of > − 20% associated with LSM < 20 kPa or any decrease to LSM < 10 kPa. A clinically significant increase in LSM, evaluated at 6, 12, or 24 months elastography tests, was associated with a substantially raised risk of primary outcomes (p < 0.05, all), which can be defined as an increase in LSM of ≥ + 20% or any increase to LSM ≥ 15 kPa. Background: Developing biomarkers for early stage AD patients is crucial. Glucose metabolism measured by 18F-FDG PET is the most common biomarker for evaluating cellular energy metabolism to diagnose AD. Arterial spin labeling (ASL) MRI can potentially provide comparable diagnostic information to 18F-FDG PET in patients with neurodegenerative disorders. However, the conclusions about the diagnostic performance of AD are still controversial between 18F-FDG PET and ASL. This study aims to compare quantitative cerebral blood flow (CBF) and glucose metabolism measured by 18F-FDG PET diagnostic values in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) using integrated PET/MR. Results: Analyses revealed overlapping between decreased regional rCBF and 18F-FDG PET SUVR in patients with AD compared with NC participants in the bilateral parietotemporal regions, frontal cortex, and cingulate cortex. Compared with NC participants, patients with aMCI exclusively demonstrated lower 18F-FDG PET SUVR in the bilateral temporal cortex, insula cortex, and inferior frontal cortex. Comparison of the rCBF in patients with aMCI and NC participants revealed no significant difference (P > 0.05). The ROC analysis of rCBF in the meta-ROI could diagnose patients with AD (AUC, 0.87) but not aMCI (AUC, 0.61). The specificity of diagnosing aMCI has been improved to 75.56% when combining rCBF and 18F-FDG PET SUVR. Conclusion: ASL could detect similar aberrant patterns of abnormalities compared to 18F-FDG PET in patients with AD compared with NC participants but not in aMCI. The diagnostic efficiency of 18F-FDG-PET for AD and aMCI patients remained higher to ASL. Our findings support that applying 18F-FDG PET may be preferable for diagnosing AD and aMCI. This ecological study examined the individual and joint impacts of natural–human factors on the spatial patterns of maternal and child health status in China at the provincial scale in 2020. We considered natural factors (forest coverage, average temperature, and total sulfur dioxide and particulate matter emissions) and human factors (economic development, urbanization, healthcare access, and education level). We combined maternal, infant, and under-five mortality rates into a composite maternal and child health index using the entropy method. The spatial autocorrelation analysis of this index highlighted distinct health patterns across provinces, whereas the geodetector method assessed the effects of natural–human factors on the patterns. A notable east–central–west stepwise decline in health status was observed. Global Moran's I showed positive spatial clustering, with high–high clustering areas in the Yangtze River Delta and low–low clustering areas in western regions. Factor detection identified eight significant natural–human factors impacting maternal and child health, with total sulfur dioxide emission density having the greatest impact. The interaction between average schooling years and total sulfur dioxide emission notably affected maternal and child health patterns. In the field of semiconductors, three-dimensional (3D) integration not only enables packaging of more devices per unit area, referred to as ‘More Moore’1 but also introduces multifunctionalities for ‘More than Moore’2 technologies. Although silicon-based 3D integrated circuits are commercially available3–5, there is limited effort on 3D integration of emerging nanomaterials6,7 such as two-dimensional (2D) materials despite their unique functionalities7–10. Here we demonstrate (1) wafer-scale and monolithic two-tier 3D integration based on MoS2 with more than 10,000 field-effect transistors (FETs) in each tier; (2) three-tier 3D integration based on both MoS2 and WSe2 with about 500 FETs in each tier; and (3) two-tier 3D integration based on 200 scaled MoS2 FETs (channel length, LCH = 45 nm) in each tier. We also realize a 3D circuit and demonstrate multifunctional capabilities, including sensing and storage. We believe that our demonstrations will serve as the foundation for more sophisticated, highly dense and functionally divergent integrated circuits with a larger number of tiers integrated monolithically in the third dimension.Monolithic three-dimensional integration of two-dimensional field-effect transistors enables improved integration density and multifunctionality to realize ‘More Moore’ and ‘More than Moore’ technologies. Background: The pink-color sign (PCS) has been widely used for diagnosing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) during Lugol's iodine chromoendoscopy. However, the identification of the PCS only relies on the subjective assessments made by the endoscopist, which could lead to bias and disagreement. Previous research has indicated that the V′ variable can, as an objective index, define the PCS in the LU′V′ color space. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of the PCS defined by the V′ variable alone and attempt to improve the diagnostic performance by combining the V′ and U′ variables. Methods: We re-examined 231 subjects with Lugol's unstained lesions (LULs) from a previously reported prospective trial. The diagnostic performance of the method using V′ variable alone (V′ alone method), the combination method using V′ and U′ variables (V′ + U′ method), and the endoscopists were calculated and compared. Results: A total of 236 LULs were included, among which 46 were histologically confirmed to be cancerous lesions. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the V′ alone method were 73.91% (95% CI 58.87–85.73%), 79.47% (95% CI 73.03–84.98%), and 78.39% (95% CI 72.59–83.47%) in the external validation cohort, respectively. It is inferior to endoscopists in terms of specificity and accuracy. The V′ + U′ method demonstrated a diagnostic performance comparable to the experienced endoscopists, with sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 76.74% (95% CI 61.37–88.25%), 88.64% (95% CI 83.00–92.92%), and 86.30% (95% CI 81.03–90.56%), respectively. Conclusion: The V′ alone method exhibited lower specificity and accuracy than the experienced endoscopist and the V′ + U′ method. However, the modified V′ + U′ method demonstrated a diagnostic performance comparable to experienced endoscopists. An automatic potentiometric setting dynamic pH titration method for the determination of sodium bicarbonate in compositions of smoke-type fireworks was developed. After wetting the sample with 0.1 mL ethanol, added 60 mL of deionized water for dissolution, ultrasound for 10 min, filtered and removed the insoluble matter, and then used a potentiometric titrator to drop 0.1 mol/L of hydrochloric acid. The experimental results showed that the limit of quantitation was 0.1%, the recoveries were 96.1–104.8% and the relative standard deviation was 0.56–3.11% when the sample weigh 0.2 g. Organic dye contamination in water was a non-negligible threat to the environment. Mesoporous Al2O3 nanofibers had been ideal and effective adsorbents for dye adsorption. Based on cost, security, and practicability, in this work, mesoporous Al2O3 nanofibers with ribbon-like structure were prepared by electrospinning technology employing aluminum nitrate (AN) and polyvinyl butyral (PVB) as starting materials. Spinning solution was acquired by mixing the AN aqueous and PVB ethanol solutions. During the calcination of as-spun nanofibers at 600–1200 °C, mesopores emerged due to the decomposition of PVB. The evolution of pore structure and microstructure of fibers were characterized. Samples prepared at 800 °C had the highest BET surface area (96.2 m2·g−1) and the strongest adsorption capacity for Congo red (230.41 mg·g−1). Adsorption processes fitted well with pseudo-2nd-order and Freundlich isotherm models. Ideal reuse performance of fibers favored their practical applications in water treatment technologies. Highlights: Using a simple process to preparation mesoporous alumina nanofibers. During the preparation process, PVB is both a pore forming agent and a spinning aid. Fiber porosity increased and then decreased at elevated temperatures The fibers calcined at 800 °C show the strongest adsorption capacity for CR. This study developed a novel MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 three-phase catalytic system to degrade the organic dye RhB, which was used to address the drawbacks of persulfate oxidation and ozonation techniques. The structure, ionic and elemental composition, specific surface area, and magnetic properties of the LDHs were investigated using a variety of physicochemical characterization tools. The results showed that MnFe-LDH had a large specific surface area, a rich crystalline phase composition, and a functional group structure. The RhB degradation rate of MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 was 0.34 min−1, which was much higher than that of other comparative systems. RhB could be completely degraded in 10 min after optimization and had a significant effect on TOC removal. The system was found to be effective over a wide pH range. Common anions were largely unaffected and humic acid acted as an inhibitor. At the same time, the system had generally effective degradation performance for different dyes. Combined with quenching experiments and EPR, it was found that SO4•−, •OH, O2•−, and 1O2 all participated in the reaction, and •OH contributed more. The degradation pathway of RhB was derived by LC-MS, and the T.E.S.T. evaluation found that the toxicity of the intermediate product was significantly reduced. Finally, the stability and availability of LDHs were verified using cycling experiments and metal ion leaching. Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) cause environmental pollution and serious health issues. Therefore, magnetic fluorinated porous carbons (M-FPCs) derived from the carbonization and further fluorination of Fe-Zr MOFs were used as novel adsorbents to investigate the possibility of PFC removal from wastewater. Investigation of the adsorption behavior of PFCs on M-FPCs revealed that the isotherms conformed to the Langmuir model and kinetics fit the pseudo-second-order model. Simulations using the Weber–Morris and Boyd diffusion models indicated that the adsorption of PFCs on M-FPCs involved external mass transfer first, followed by intraparticle diffusion, where film diffusion was the primary controlling process. M-FPCs with maximum adsorption ranging from 518.1 to 919.3 mg g− 1 for studied PFCs were adopted to remove PFCs from simulated wastewaters of textile mill and leather factory. Up to 98.1–100.0% of PFCs were removed within 15 min, and the residual levels of PFCs reached drinking water standards after treatment, which suggests the promising application of M-FPCs in the removal of PFCs from wastewater. However, its optimal reference region for calculating the standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) and its relation to the well-established biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are still unclear.We recruited 203 participants from the Greater Bay Area Healthy Aging Brain Study (GHABS) to undergo [18F]-D3FSP Aβ PET imaging. We analyzed plasma Aβ42/Aβ40, p-Tau181, glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), and neurofilament light (NfL) using the Simoa platform. We compared the standardized uptake value (SUV) of five reference regions (cerebellum, cerebellum cortex, brainstem/PONs, white matter, composite of the four regions above) and AD typical cortical region (COMPOSITE) SUVR among different clinical groups. The association of D3FSP SUVR with plasma biomarkers, imaging biomarkers, and cognition was also investigated.Brainstem/PONs SUV showed the lowest fluctuation across diagnostic groups, and COMPOSITE D3FSP SUVR had an enormous effect distinguishing cognitively impaired (CI) individuals from cognitively unimpaired (CU) individuals. COMPOSITE SUVR (Referred to brainstem/PONs) was positively correlated with p-Tau181 (p < 0.001), GFAP (p < 0.001), NfL (p = 0.014) in plasma and temporal-metaROI tau deposition (p < 0.001), and negatively related to plasma Aβ42/Aβ40 (p < 0.001), temporal-metaROI cortical thickness (p < 0.01), residual hippocampal volume (p < 0.001) and cognition (p < 0.001).
