Background Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has showed a high prevalence and a increasing trend especially towards younger age. It is of great public health significance to reduce damage through early detection of NAFLD in physical examination and intervention in time. Objective To investigate the detection rate of NAFLD in the Beijing physical examination population from 2018 to 2021, and analyze its related influencing factors. Methods People who received physical examinations at the Beijing Physical Examination Center from 2018-01-01 to 2021-12-31 were selected based on the inclusion criteria, the results of physical examination, laboratory examination, and liver ultrasonography were collected for analysis. Univariate analysis was performed using t-test, Mann-Whitney U test and Chi-square test. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to explore the influencing factors of NAFLD. Results A total 325 726 people were included in the study, of which 108 512 cases of NAFLD were detected, with a detection rate of 33.31%. The results of liver ultrasonography revealed that the number of mild, moderate and severe NAFLD detections were 74 062, 33 281 and 1 169 cases, accounting for 68.25%, 30.67% and 1.08% of the detection population, respectively. Summary: Given the escalating magnitude and intricacy of software systems, software measurement data often contains irrelevant and redundant features, resulting in significant resource and storage requirements for software defect prediction (SDP). Feature selection (FS) has a vital impact on the initial data preparation phase of SDP. Nonetheless, existing FS methods suffer from issues such as insignificant dimensionality reduction, low accuracy in classifying chosen optimal feature sets, and neglect of complex interactions and dependencies between defect data and features as well as between features and classes. To tackle the aforementioned problems, this paper proposes a many‐objective SDPFS (MOSDPFS) model and the binary many‐objective PSO algorithm with adaptive enhanced selection strategy (BMaOPSO‐AR2) is proposed within this paper. MOSDPFS selects F1 score, the number of features within subsets, and correlation and redundancy measures based on mutual information (MI) as optimization objectives. BMaOPSO‐AR2 constructs a binary version of MaOPSO using transfer functions specifically for binary classification. Adaptive update formulas and the introduction of the R2 indicator are employed to augment the variety and convergence of algorithm. Additionally, performance of MOSDPFS and BMaOPSO‐AR2 are tested on the NASA‐MDP and PROMISE datasets. High-pressure groundwater brings great challenges to the construction of mountain tunnels. Hence, controlling and discharging groundwater are two key problems that must be addressed before constructing tunnels in high-pressure and water-rich region. Fluid–solid coupling seepage analysis method is used to analyze the variation of displacement, stress and pore water pressure of the tunnel. A waterproof and drainage method suitable for tunnels in high-pressure and water-rich region is proposed. Curtain grouting plays a dual role in waterproof and reinforcing surrounding rock. Decompression drainage holes are designed in order to further reduce the pore water pressure acting on the initial lining. The thickness of grouting circle, the permeability coefficient ratio and the decompression drainage holes distribution rate of the initial lining are the main factors that affect the waterproof and drainage effect of tunnels in high-pressure and water-rich region. Suggested parameters on waterproof and drainage measures for tunnels in high-pressure and water-rich region are given after comprehensive analysis, which can provide basis for the technology on high-pressure groundwater treatments and constructions of underground engineering under complex geological conditions. SET-domain group histone methyltransferases (SDGs) are known to play crucial roles in plant responses to abiotic stress. However, their specific function in cotton's response to drought stress has not been well understood. This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the SDG gene family in Gossypium hirsutum, identifying a total of 82 SDG genes. An evolutionary analysis revealed that the SDG gene family can be divided into eight subgroups. The expression analysis shows that some GhSDG genes are preferentially expressed in specific tissues, indicating their involvement in cotton growth and development. The transcription level of some GhSDG genes is induced by PEG, with GhSDG59 showing significant upregulation upon polyethylene glycol (PEG) treatment. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) analysis showed that the accumulation of transcripts of the GhSDG59 gene was significantly upregulated under drought stress. Further functional studies using virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) revealed that silencing GhSDG59 reduced cotton tolerance to drought stress. Under drought conditions, the proline content, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) enzyme activities in the GhSDG59-silenced plants were significantly lower than in the control plants, while the malondialdehyde (MDA) content was significantly higher. Transcriptome sequencing showed that silencing the GhSDG59 gene led to significant changes in the expression levels of 1156 genes. The KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that these differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were mainly enriched in the carbon metabolism and the starch and sucrose metabolism pathways. The functional annotation analysis identified known drought-responsive genes, such as ERF, CIPK, and WRKY, among these DEGs. This indicates that GhSDG59 is involved in the drought-stress response in cotton by affecting the expression of genes related to the carbon metabolism and the starch and sucrose metabolism pathways, as well as known drought-responsive genes. We introduce a passive tomography method with deep field of view up to 90 m based on the self-acceleration characteristics of Airy beams. A post-modulation long-distance imaging system was proposed and optimized in its optical configuration and phase modulation parameters. The resolution was analyzed based on theoretical simulation. Experimentally, three LEDs at various distances around 10 m and two outdoor road lamps with distance of 67 and 90 m were reconstructed using the Airy-beam tomography algorithm, respectively, demonstrating excellent tomographic characteristics. Aspergillus flavus is a ubiquitous pathogen that can infect many foods and grains, and it produces large amounts of aflatoxins during their storage. Aflatoxins are considered highly toxic and carcinogenic to humans, and they cause great damage to crop production, food security, and human health. Thus, controlling A. flavus and aflatoxins in grains presents a great challenge to humans worldwide. Over the past decade, many strategies have been demonstrated to be useful in controlling A. flavus and aflatoxins during food storage. These methods involve physical agents, chemical agents, biological agents, etc. Some of these methods are currently used in actual production. In this review, we summarize the reported methods for controlling A. flavus and aflatoxins during food storage in the past ten years and elucidate their advantages and disadvantages. The methods discussed include irradiation technology; low oxygen atmospheres; chemical fungicides (benzalkonium chloride, iodine, ammonium bicarbonate, and phenolic and azole compounds); biological agents from plants, animals, and micro-organisms; and aflatoxin elimination methods. We expect that this review will promote the applications of current strategies and be useful for the development of novel technologies to prevent or eliminate A. flavus and aflatoxins in food and feed during storage. Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to its distinctive graphene-like structure and high specific capacity. However, its commercial application is hindered by the severe volume expansion during lithiation/delithiation and poor conductivity. In this paper, we report a facile one-pot enhanced hydrothermal synthesis strategy to prepare high-performance MoS2/C composite materials. The results indicate that the as-prepared MoS2/C composite is a subspheroidal core–shell structure material, with uniform coating, good particle dispersion, and an average grain size of approximately 80 nm. The morphology of the composite remained unchanged even after annealing at 500 °C for 2 h. The addition of glucose can accelerate the nucleation and growth of MoS2, and higher hydrothermal temperatures can improve the product yield. The addition of PVP has little effect on the yield, but significantly reduces the particle size. The XPS analysis reveals that the MoO3 may be generated as an intermediate product during the hydrothermal process. The electrochemical test results show that the unannealed MoS2/C samples exhibit discharge-specific capacities of 705.2 mAh·g−1 and 625.7 mAh·g−1 after the first cycle and the 100th cycle, respectively, at a current density of 500 mA·g−1, with a capacity retention rate of 88.7%. In contrast, the specific capacity of the MoS2/C specimens after annealing at 500 °C for 2 h shows a tendency to decrease and then slowly increase during the cycles, and the discharge specific capacity is 582.3 mAh·g−1 after the 100th cycle, which is lower than that of the unheated sample. The impedance analysis reveals that the lithium-ion diffusion coefficient of the MoS2/C material without calcination is 2.11 × 10−18 cm·s−2, which is superior to that of the annealed MoS2/C and pristine MoS2 samples. This study was aimed to investigate the preventive effects of N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) against renal tubular cell injury induced by oxalate and stone formation and further explore the related mechanism. Transcriptome sequencing combined with bioinformatics analysis were performed to identify differentially expressed gene (DEG) and related pathways. HK-2 cells were pretreated with or without antioxidant NAC/with or silencing DEG before exposed to sodium oxalate. Then, the cell viability, oxidative biomarkers of superoxidase dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA), apoptosis and cell cycle were measured through CCK8, ELISA and flow cytometry assay, respectively. Male SD rats were separated into control group, hyperoxaluria (HOx) group, NAC intervention group, and TGF-β/SMAD pathway inhibitor group. After treatment, the structure changes and oxidative stress and CaOx crystals deposition were evaluated in renal tissues by H&E staining, immunohistochemical and Pizzolato method. The expression of TGF-β/SMAD pathway related proteins (TGF-β1, SMAD3 and SMAD7) were determined by Western blot in vivo and in vitro. CDKN2B is a DEG screened by transcriptome sequencing combined with bioinformatics analysis, and verified by qRT-PCR. Sodium oxalate induced declined HK-2 cell viability, in parallel with inhibited cellular oxidative stress and apoptosis. The changes induced by oxalate in HK-2 cells were significantly reversed by NAC treatment or the silencing of CDKN2B. The cell structure damage and CaOx crystals deposition were observed in kidney tissues of HOx group. Meanwhile, the expression levels of SOD and 8-OHdG were detected in kidney tissues of HOx group. The changes induced by oxalate in kidney tissues were significantly reversed by NAC treatment. Besides, expression of SMAD7 was significantly down-regulated, while TGF-β1 and SMAD3 were accumulated induced by oxalate in vitro and in vivo. The expression levels of TGF-β/SMAD pathway related proteins induced by oxalate were reversed by NAC. Background: Aberrant DNA methylation is a vital molecular alteration commonly detected in type I endometrial cancers (EC), and tet methylcytosine dioxygenase 2 (TET2) and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) play significant roles in DNA demethylation. However, little is known about the function and correlation of TET2 and 5hmC co-expressed in EC. This study intended to investigate the clinical significance of TET2 and 5hmC in EC. Methods: The levels of TET2 and 5hmC were detected in 326 endometrial tissues by immumohistochemistry, and the correlation of their level was detected by Pearson analysis. The association between the levels of TET2 and 5hmC and clinicopathologic characteristics was analyzed. Prognostic value of TET2 and 5hmC was explored by Kaplan–Meier analysis. The Cox proportional hazard regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: Based on the analysis results, TET2 protein level was positively correlated with 5hmC level in EC tissues (r = 0.801, P < 0.001). TET2+5hmC+ (high TET2 and high 5hmC) association was significantly associated with well differentiation, myometrial invasion, negative lymph node metastasis, and tumor stage in EC. Association of TET2 and 5hmC was confirmed as a prognostic factor (HR = 2.843, 95%CI = 1.226–3.605, P = 0.007) for EC patients, and EC patients with TET2−5hmC− level had poor overall survival. Conclusions: In summary, the association of TET2 and 5hmC was downregulated in EC tissues, and may be a potential poor prognostic indicator for EC patients. Global climate change‐caused drought stress, high temperatures and other extreme weather profoundly impact plant growth and development, restricting sustainable crop production. To cope with various environmental stimuli, plants can optimize the opening and closing of stomata to balance CO2 uptake for photosynthesis and water loss from leaves. Guard cells perceive and integrate various signals to adjust stomatal pores through turgor pressure regulation. Molecular mechanisms and signaling networks underlying the stomatal movements in response to environmental stresses have been extensively studied and elucidated. This review focuses on the molecular mechanisms of stomatal movements mediated by abscisic acid, light, CO2, reactive oxygen species, pathogens, temperature, and other phytohormones. We discussed the significance of elucidating the integrative mechanisms that regulate stomatal movements in helping design smart crops with enhanced water use efficiency and resilience in a climate‐changing world. Major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar disorder (BD) share clinical features, which complicates their differentiation in clinical settings. This study proposes an innovative approach that integrates structural connectome analysis with machine learning models to discern individuals with MDD from individuals with BD. High-resolution MRI images were obtained from individuals diagnosed with MDD or BD and from HCs. Structural connectomes were constructed to represent the complex interplay of brain regions using advanced graph theory techniques. Machine learning models were employed to discern unique connectivity patterns associated with MDD and BD. At the global level, both BD and MDD patients exhibited increased small-worldness compared to the HC group. At the nodal level, patients with BD and MDD showed common differences in nodal parameters primarily in the right amygdala and the right parahippocampal gyrus when compared with HCs. Distinctive differences were found mainly in prefrontal regions for BD, whereas MDD was characterized by abnormalities in the left thalamus and default mode network. Additionally, the BD group demonstrated altered nodal parameters predominantly in the fronto-limbic network when compared with the MDD group. Moreover, the application of machine learning models utilizing structural brain parameters demonstrated an impressive 90.3% accuracy in distinguishing individuals with BD from individuals with MDD. These findings demonstrate that combined structural connectome and machine learning enhance diagnostic accuracy and may contribute valuable insights to the understanding of the distinctive neurobiological signatures of these psychiatric disorders. Background/Aims: Sinomenine, a pure alkaloid extracted from the Chinese medicinal plant Sinomenium acutum, and sinomenine hydrochloride (SN) has been successfully used for the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and kidney diseases. Autophagy is a cytoprotective mechanism used by podocytes and other cells to alleviate the effects of oxidative stress, and angiotensin II (Ang II) significantly promotes podocyte autophagy. However, excessive autophagy may lead to cell death and podocyte depletion. The present study evaluated the effect of SN in podocytes induced by Ang II. Methods: Podocytes were pretreated with graded concentrations (10-8 M ∼ 10-4 M) of SN and then stimulated with Ang II. The LC3B protein and the p47-phox membrane fraction were measured by Western blot. Autolysosomes were assessed by transmission electron microscopy. FACS was used to quantify the ROS produced by podocytes. The translocation of p47-phox to the membrane was investigated by immunofluorescence. Results: The 10-8 M ∼ 10-4 M of SN alone did not effect ROS generation or podocyte autophagy. The 10-8 M and 10-6 M SN attenuated Ang II-induced autophagy in podocytes. Furthermore, SN decreased the level of ROS generation in Ang II-induced podocytes via inhibition of NOX subunit p47-phox translocation to the membrane. Conclusion: The appropriate concentration of SN attenuated Ang II-induced podocyte autophagy through ROS generation, at least in part, by regulating NOX subunit p47-phox translocation to the membrane. Retinoid-related orphan receptor gamma t (RORγt) is the lineage-specific transcription factor for T helper 17 (Th17) cells. Our previous study demonstrated that STAT3 likely participates in the activation of RORCE2 (a novel enhancer of the RORγt gene) in Th17 cells. However, the detailed mechanism is still unclear. Here, we demonstrate that both STAT3 and SOX-5 mediate the enhancer activity of RORCE2 in vitro. Deletion of the STAT3 binding site (STAT3-BS) in RORCE2 impaired RORγt expression and Th17 differentiation, resulting in reduced severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Mechanistically, STAT3 and SOX-5 bind the RORCE2 region and recruit the chromatin remodeling factor BRG1 to remodel the nucleosomes positioned at this region. Collectively, our data suggest that STAT3 and SOX-5 mediate the differentiation of Th17 cells through the induction of BRG1-mediated chromatin remodeling of RORCE2 in Th17 cells. Image completion has made tremendous progress with convolutional neural networks (CNNs), because of their powerful texture modeling capacity. However, due to some inherent properties (e.g., local inductive prior, spatial-invariant kernels), CNNs do not perform well in understanding global structures or naturally support pluralistic completion. Recently, transformers demonstrate their power in modeling the long-term relationship and generating diverse results, but their computation complexity is quadratic to input length, thus hampering the application in processing high-resolution images. This paper brings the best of both worlds to pluralistic image completion: appearance prior reconstruction with transformer and texture replenishment with CNN. The former transformer recovers pluralistic coherent structures together with some coarse textures, while the latter CNN enhances the local texture details of coarse priors guided by the high-resolution masked images. To decode diversified outputs from transformers, auto-regressive sampling is the most common method, but with extremely low efficiency. We further overcome this issue by proposing a new decoding strategy, temperature annealing probabilistic sampling (TAPS), which firstly achieves more than 70× speedup of inference at most, meanwhile maintaining the high quality and diversity of the sampled global structures. Moreover, we find the full CNN architecture will lead to suboptimal solutions for guided upsampling. To render more realistic and coherent contents, we design a novel module, named texture-aware guided attention, to concurrently consider the procedures of texture copy and generation, meanwhile raising several important modifications to solve the boundary artifacts. Through dense experiments, we found the proposed method vastly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of four aspects: 1) large performance boost on image fidelity even compared to deterministic completion methods; 2) better diversity and higher fidelity for pluralistic completion; 3) exceptional generalization ability on large masks and generic dataset, like ImageNet. 4) Much higher decoding efficiency over previous auto-regressive based methods.

Purpose: Difficulties remain in dose optimization and evaluation of cervical cancer radiotherapy that combines external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and brachytherapy (BT). This study estimates and improves the accumulated dose distribution of EBRT and BT with deep learning-based dose prediction., Materials and Methods: A total of 30 patients treated with combined cervical cancer radiotherapy were enrolled in this study. The dose distributions of EBRT and BT plans were accumulated using commercial deformable image registration. A ResNet-101-based deep learning model was trained to predict pixel-wise dose distributions. To test the role of the predicted accumulated dose in clinic, each EBRT plan was designed using conventional method and then redesigned referencing the predicted accumulated dose distribution. Bladder and rectum dosimetric parameters and normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) values were calculated and compared between the conventional and redesigned accumulated doses., Results: The redesigned accumulated doses showed a decrease in mean values of V 50 , V 60 , and D 2cc for the bladder (-3.02%, -1.71%, and -1.19 Gy, respectively) and rectum (-4.82%, -1.97%, and -4.13 Gy, respectively). The mean NTCP values for the bladder and rectum were also decreased by 0.02‰ and 0.98%, respectively. All values had statistically significant differences (p < 0.01), except for the bladder D 2cc (p = 0.112)., Conclusion: This study realized accumulated dose prediction for combined cervical cancer radiotherapy without knowing the BT dose. The utilization of diverse energy storage devices is imperative in the contemporary society. Taking advantage of solar power, a significant environmentally friendly and sustainable energy resource, holds great appeal for future storage of energy because it can solve the dilemma of fossil energy depletion and the resulting environmental problems once and for all. Recently, photo-assisted energy storage devices, especially photo-assisted rechargeable metal batteries, are rapidly developed owing to the ability to efficiently convert and store solar energy and the simple configuration, as well as the fact that conventional Li/Zn-ion batteries are widely commercialized. Considering many puzzles arising from the rapid development of photo-assisted rechargeable metal batteries, this review commences by introducing the fundamental concepts of batteries and photo-electrochemistry, followed by an exploration of the current advancements in photo-assisted rechargeable metal batteries. Specifically, it delves into the elucidation of device components, operating principles, types, and practical applications. Furthermore, this paper categorizes, specifies, and summarizes several detailed examples of photo-assisted energy storage devices. Lastly, it addresses the challenges and bottlenecks faced by these energy storage systems while providing future perspectives to facilitate their transition from laboratory research to industrial implementation., (© 2024 The Author(s). Objective: Electroacupuncture (EA) pretreatment can effectively increase the tolerance of the brain to ischemic stroke. The mechanism of ischemic tolerance induced by EA is related to Nrf2, but its specific mechanism has not been elucidated. This paper was designed to explore the effect of EA pretreatment on brain injury and the related mechanisms., Methods: Rats were pretreated with EA before middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) modeling. The symptoms of neurological deficit and the volume of cerebral infarction were measured. The levels of inflammatory factors, oxidative stress-related factors, LPO, ROS, and Fe 2+ were evaluated by the corresponding kits. Cell apoptosis was determined through TUNEL staining. The mRNA expression of inflammatory factors was examined by RT-qPCR, and the protein expression of ferroptosis-related factors, pyroptosis-related proteins, Keap1, Nrf2, HO-1, and NQO1 by western blotting., Results: EA pretreatment improved the symptoms of neurological deficit and reduced the volume of cerebral infarction. EA pretreatment significantly inhibited oxidative stress, inflammatory response, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and apoptosis in brain tissues of MCAO rats. Mechanistically, EA pretreatment could activate Nrf2 expression and reduce Keap1 expression., Conclusion: EA pretreatment reduced inflammation and oxidative stress and inhibited ferroptosis by activating Nrf2 expression, ultimately delaying the development of ischemic stroke., (©The Author(s) 2024. Deoxynivalenol (DON) is the most widespread mycotoxin contaminant hazardous to human and animal health globally. It acts as a crucial virulence factor to stimulate the spread of pathogenic Fusarium within wheat plants. Control of DON and Fusarium disease contributes enormously to food safety, which relies on chemical fungicides. Here, we report the biodegradation of DON using a novel soil bacterium, Devosia insulae FS10-7, and its biocontrol effect against Fusarium crown rot. We demonstrated that strain FS10-7 degraded DON to 3-epi-DON by forming a 3-keto-DON intermediate. Such degradation activity can be maintained at a wide range of pH (4 to 10) and temperature (16 to 42°C) values under aerobic conditions. Notably, strain FS10-7 exhibited practical inhibitory effects on Fusarium crown rot disease caused by F. graminearum and F. pseudograminearum in the in vitro Petri dish test under laboratory conditions and the pot experiment under greenhouse conditions. The mechanisms underlying the biocontrol ability of strain FS10-7 were preliminarily investigated to be associated with its high DON-degrading activity rather than direct antagonism. The electron transport layer (ETL) plays an important role in determining the conversion efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, TiO 2 thin film was prepared by irradiating diisopropoxy diacetylacetone titanium precursor thin film with 172 nm vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) at a low temperature. The prepared TiO 2 thin film has higher electron mobility and conductivity. As it is used as an ETL for MAPbI 3 PSCs, its band structure is better matched with the perovskite, and at the same time, due to the good interface contact, more uniform perovskite crystals are formed. Most importantly, a large number of hydroxyl radicals were formed during VUV irradiation of the precursor film, which made up for the oxygen defect present on the surface of the TiO 2 thin film, and were adsorbed to the film surface. These hydroxyl groups form hydrogen bonds with methylammonium (MA) components on the MAPbI 3 buried surface, thus promoting the transfer of photogenerated electrons at the MAPbI 3 /ETL interface. The power conversion efficiency of PSCs fabricated in air with the ETL prepared by VUV irradiation is 20.46%, which is higher than that of the contrast solar cell based on the sintered ETL (17.96%).

Purpose: The study aims to explore the proteomic profile and specific target proteins associated with muscle growth in response to botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT-A) treatment, in order to improve spasticity management in children with cerebral palsy (CP)., Experimental Design: A total of 54 participants provided 60 plasma samples for proteomic analysis. Among them, six children were sampled before and after receiving their first BoNT-A injection. In addition, 48 unrelated children were enrolled, among whom one group had never received BoNT-A injections and another group was sampled after their first BoNT-A injection. Differentially expressed proteins were identified using the data-independent acquisition (DIA) mass spectrometry approach. Gene Ontology (GO), protein-protein interaction network, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome analysis were conducted to explore the function and relationship among differentially expressed proteins. The expression levels of target proteins were verified by quantitative real-time PCR and western blotting., Results: Analysis identified significant differential expression of 90 proteins across two time points, including 48 upregulated and 42 downregulated proteins. The upregulated thioredoxin, α-actinin-1, and aggrecan, and the downregulated integrin beta-1 may affect the growth of muscles affected by spasticity 3 months after BoNT-A injection. This effect is potentially mediated through the activation or inhibition of PI3K-Akt, focal adhesion, and regulation of actin cytoskeleton signaling pathways., Conclusion and Clinical Relevance: BoNT-A injection could lead to a disruption of protein levels and signaling pathways, a condition subsequently associated with muscle growth. Molybdenum disulfide shows promise as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries. However, its commercial potential has been constrained due to the poor conductivity and significant volume expansion during the charge/discharge cycles. To address these issues, in this study, N-doped MoS 2 /C composites (NMC) were prepared via an enhanced hydrothermal method, using ammonium molybdate and thiourea as molybdenum and sulfur sources, respectively. Polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG400) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) were added in the hydrothermal procedure as soft template surfactants and nitrogen/carbon sources. The crystal structure, morphology, elemental composition, and surface valence state of the N-doped MoS 2 /C composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. The results indicate that the NMC prepared by this method are spherical particles with a nanoflower-like structure composed of MoS 2 flakes, having an average particle size of about 500 nm. XPS analysis shows the existence of C and N elements in the samples as C-N, C-C, and pyrrolic N. As anodes for LIBs, the NMC without annealing deliver an initial discharge capacity of 548.2 mAh·g -1 at a current density of 500 mA·g -1 . However, this capacity decays in the following cycles with a discharge capacity of 66.4 mAh·g -1 and a capacity retention rate of only 12% after 50 cycles. In contrast, the electrochemical properties of the counterparts are enhanced after annealing, which exhibits an initial discharge capacity of 575.9 mAh·g -1 and an ultimate discharge capacity of 669.2 mAh·g -1 after 70 cycles. The capacity retention rate decreases initially but later increases and elevated afterward to reach 116% at the 70th cycle, indicating an improvement in charge-discharge performance. Introduction: The etiology of Escherichia coli in yaks, along with its drug resistance, results in economic losses within the yak breeding industry. The utilization of lactic acid bacteria treatment has emerged as a viable alternative to antibiotics in managing colibacillosis., Methods: To elucidate the therapeutic mechanisms of Lactobacillus against Escherichia coli-induced intestinal barrier damage in yaks, we employed yak epithelial cells as the experimental model and established a monolayer epithelial barrier using Transwell. The study encompassed four groups: a control group, a model group (exposed to E. coli O78), a low-dose Lactobacillus group ( E. coli O78 + 1 × 10 5 CFU LAB), and a high-dose Lactobacillus group ( E. coli O78 + 1 × 10 7 CFU LAB). Various techniques, including transmembrane resistance measurement, CFU counting, RT-qPCR, and Western Blot, were employed to assess indicators related to cell barrier permeability and tight junction integrity., Results: In the Model group, Escherichia coli O78 significantly compromised the permeability and tight junction integrity of the yak epithelial barrier. It resulted in decreased transmembrane resistance, elevated FD4 flux, and bacterial translocation. Furthermore, it downregulated the mRNA and protein expression of MUC2, Occludin, and ZO-1, while upregulating the mRNA expression and protein expression of FABP2 and Zonulin, thereby impairing intestinal barrier function. Contrastingly, Lactobacillus exhibited a remarkable protective effect. It substantially increased transmembrane resistance, mitigated FD4 flux, and reduced bacterial translocation. Moreover, it significantly upregulated the mRNA and protein expression of MUC2, Occludin, and ZO-1, while downregulating the mRNA and protein expression of FABP2 and Zonulin. Notably, high-dose LAB demonstrated superior regulatory effects compared to the low-dose LAB group., Discussion: In conclusion, our findings suggest that Lactobacillus holds promise in treating yak colibacillosis by enhancing mucin and tight junction protein expression.
