Abstract

The article explores the simple solution-based route for the synthesis of size-controlled cubic CuCr2Se4 nanocrystals. It discusses the process of the thermal decomposition of the metal acetylacetonate precursors and their reaction with Se complexed to high-boiling solvent mixtures of OLA and ODE. Moreover, the researchers believe that the process can be extended to the nanocrystal synthesis in a variety of other ternary chalcogenides.

Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the shape-and structure-controlled synthesis of monodisperse self-supported cobalt ferite (CoFe2O4) SP nanostructures of both spherical and rod-like structure. The study identifies the nucleation, self-assembly as well as the secondary to understand the formation mechanism. It revealed that the nanostructures respond more on external magnetic field and exhibit superparamagnetic (SP) properties at room temperature.
