The trade business license certificate (SIUP) is a paper-based license to conduct trade businesses in Indonesia issued by the government. Until today, there is no mechanism for verifying the validity of document unless to verify it manually. The current paper presents a design that allows paperbased verification of the printed trade business license. It aims to provide the verification mechanism and ensure the document validity. Our design implemented digital signature with QR Code image that placed into the document and the digital certificate issued by a certification authority (CA). The proposed scheme generated 442 Bytes of data and version 14 of QR Code to scan easily by a reader device. The experimental result indicates that our scheme is easy and feasible to implement in Indonesia with guaranteed the document integrity, authentication, and nonrepudiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to provide an overview of the calculation of the area of Indonesia based on the boundaries of sub-district/village, district, regency/city. The circle approach method is proposed as a fast method for determining the land area of Indonesia. The total area of Indonesia can be obtained by adding up to 33 provinces or 502 regencies/cities or 6696 districts or 77474 sub-districts. Calculation of the area of the area using district boundaries is better used in the calculation of the area of Indonesia which is obtained 1,965,443.51 km2. Communication is one of essential elements in this life, including the people who live at rural areas. However, telecommunications in rural area especially in Indonesia have many constraints like expensive infrastructure, difficult terrain and electrical problem. This led to a lot of areas that uncovered by telecommunication access. In this paper, we proposed a design and architecture of mobile wireless communication based on modified openWRT as a solution for low-cost communication and telephony infrastructure in rural areas. The design combines VoIP over mesh ad-hoc network as a potential solution for cheap calls and use modified embedded device to save electrical resources as a node to connect each other with multi hop transmissions. With this approach, we get many advantages such as high mobility, easy to use, scalable, low-cost implementation, and low power consumption. This paper presents the measurement result of performance to provide access telecommunication in several conditions. In addition, this paper also shows benchmarking results and lifetime of the node that we use in this prototype. The results show that our node can provide telecommunications access in terms of making calls with good quality using wireless LAN. Question generating is the task of automatically generating questions from various inputs such as raw text, database, or semantic representation. In this paper, we attempt to describe a general framework that could help develop and characterise efforts to Indonesian medical questions generation. We propose a new style of question generation that actively uses sentences within a document as a source of answers. We use manually written rules to perform a sequence of general purpose syntactic transformations (e.g. identification of keywords or key phrases to NER based on PICO frame) to turn a declarative sentence into questions. The final result of this research is a pattern of question and answer pairs, where the test results show the pattern matching algorithm precision value of 0.101 and a recall of 0.712. Aceh province is the most affected area by the tsunami of 26 December 2004. Aceh also has experiencing a number of natural hazards; flood, earthquakes, and volcano's eruptions. Until now, Aceh has no natural hazards information system which can be used to increase public awareness in order to reduce the impact of the hazards. Natural hazards information system provides hazard maps as the guideline for disaster risk mitigation planning. Therefore, the development of a Web GIS based information system for Aceh natural hazards, referred as Aceh Natural Hazards Information System (ANHIS), is a very strategic decision to increase public awareness of the risks of natural disaster hazard in Aceh. This paper proposes conceptual design and the development of prototype for ANHIS. The main purpose of ANHIS is to visualize many natural hazards maps and disseminate information of the hazardous areas for disaster agencies, researchers and communities in order to help them act on warning issue. In order to develop the prototype, the system requirements, configuration, system design and implementation are presented in this paper. Furthermore, the results of prototype for ANHIS are demonstrated in terms of individual hazard map and multi-hazard map of many natural hazards in Aceh. This paper proposes a prototype of an improved smart home controller that implements a neural network-based algorithm for enabling the controller to make decisions and act based on the current condition. Unlike previous approaches, this design also utilizes the use of IoT (internet of thing) technology and neural network based-algorithm for developing the controller. Since a smart home is equipped with various sensors, actuators, smart appliances, and mobile terminals, all of these devices need to be connected to the Internet to be able to communicate and provide services for its occupants. The construction of the proposed controller is carried out through several procedures, i.e. the implementation of the ADALINE (adaptive liniear) as the neural network method, the design of the smart home controller prototype, and the validation process using mean average percentage error (MAPE) calculation. This prototype integrates functionalities of several household appliances into one application controlled by a smartphone. ADALINE is applied as an algorithm to predict output when the controller is in automatic mode. Although the obtained accuracy value is still not satisfactory, the value is bound to change when testing on more data. Stemming has been commonly used by some researchers in natural language processing area such as text mining, text classification, and information retrieval. In information retrieval, stemming may help to raise retrieval performance. However, there is an indication that stemming does not hand over significant influence toward the accuracy in text classification. Therefore, this paper analyzes further research about the influence of stemming on tweet classification in Bahasa Indonesia. This work examines about the accuracy result between two conditions by involving stemming and without involving stemming in pre-processing task for tweet classification. The contribution of this research is to find out a better preprocessing task in order to obtain good accuracy in text classification. According to the experiments, it is observed that all accuracy results in tweet classification tend to decrease. Stemming task does not raise the accuracy either using SVM or Naive Bayes algorithm. In designing an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), such as quadrotor, sometimes an engineer should consider the required cost that is relatively expensive. As we know, quadrotor is one of robots that very usefull and has several advantages for human needs such as disaster area monitoring, air quality monitoring, area mapping, aerial photography, and surveillance. Thus, designing a rapid quadrotor with low-cost components and simple control system needs to be considered here. This paper presents design and implementation of a quadrotor using relatively low-cost components with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control system as its controller. The components used consist of microcontroller, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor, Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor, Electronic Speed Control (ESC), remote control unit, battery, and frame. These components can be easily found in the electronic markets, especially in Indonesia. As an addition, this paper also describes PID control system as flight controller. A simple economic analysis is presented to clarify the cost in designing this quadrotor. Indonesia requires a maritime surveillance system that's capable to monitor its extensive waters territorial. One of the maritime standard navigation systems named AIS (Automatic Identification System), which is based on GPS and VHF digital communication, have enabled the ship monitoring in a real-time. By placing AIS receiver on the satellite, its coverage will be larger compared to the one usually placed on the seashore by maritime authority. Orbiting the AIS receiver prompted appearing the limitation of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) technology so the probability of ship detection would decrease drastically due to a huge number of heard ship signal simultaneously. This paper describes the design of satellite constellation for Indonesian maritime surveillance based on the result of the AIS data acquisition by LAPAN-A2 and LAPAN-A3 satellites that operate in both equatorial and polar orbit. Filter technique is supportive for reducing image noise. This paper presents a study on filtering medical images, i.e., CT-Scan, Chest X-ray and Panoramic X-ray collected from two of the most prominent public hospitals in Padang City, Indonesia. The aim of this study preserved to facilitate in diagnosing objects in x-ray medical images. This study used filter technique, i.e. Blur, Emboss, Gaussian, Laplacian, Roberts, Sharpen, or Sobel techniques as pre-processing step. The filter process performed before edge detection and edge clarification. MMG method used in this study to clarify the edge detection. The importance of an optimal method for electric power transmission is crucial for ROV operation. Meanwhile, only few studies have shown the effect of electrical power system from power supply to ROV.This paper proposes a design and implementation of electrical power system for ROV that developed by Tech_SAS team from Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia. This work aims to obtain the optimal power system to supply ROV's electrical and electronic components. Tech_SAS ROV is developed to compete on 1st and 2nd ASEAN MATE Underwater Robotic Competition. The system has demonstrated that 48V electric voltage can be transmitted to ROV with negligible voltage drop when using 20 meter 12AWG cable. The voltage is converted to 12V using DC-DC converter in order to supply various ROV's electronic devices ROV safely and efficiently. Meanwhile, the microcontroller was used to as thrust control to manage current flow to DC motor. The system has been evaluated and demonstrates optimal results and provides a design consideration about ROV's power system especially on tether cable and power distribution scheme. In this paper, we presented issues, challenges, and solutions of videoconference system for rural education. First, we discussed several issues on the implementation of videoconference system for education, particulary in rural area in Indonesia, which covered videoconference requirement, rural condition, and education needs. Second, we presented several challenges consisted of choosing videoconference technology, choosing compression method, system and application development, ensuring quality of services, and ensuring quality of experiences. Based on the issues and challenges, we proposed a solution of videoconference system which is specifically deployed in rural education. The solution was based on WebRTC technology implemented in Intel i5 core miniPC choosen to increase portability of the system. A STUN server was built on Javascript to facilitate communication between each client terminal. A simple and intuitive user interface was designed to facilitate the use of application by rural people. The system was deployed at two elementary schools in Cianjur, West Java, representing rural education in Indonesia. From the experiment, we obtained video sent data rate 82 kbit/s, video received data rate 245 kbit/s, average delay 316 ms and packet lost rate 1.32%. Remote sensing technology can be used to better understand the earth's characteristics. SeaWiFS (sea-viewing wide field-of-view sensor) is one of remote sensors used to observe global ocean phenomena. Previous studies showed that the distribution of chlorophyll-a in the ocean indicates the presence of fish. However, only a few studies tried to directly relate the chlorophyll-a distribution obtained through interpretation of satellite imagery to in-situ data of fish distribution. This paper investigates the relation between chlorophyll-a distribution and fish-capturing points in Aceh Province sea waters using overlay image analysis. The results are then used to identify the potential fishing ground in Aceh. The profile of chlorophyll-a concentration is derived from SeaWIFS satellite imagery. Fish-capturing points data is obtained from the fisherman communities of Banda Aceh, starting from June to November 2008. The results showed that the chlorophyll-a profile derived from satellite imagery has a positive relationship to fish-capturing point data. The most potential fish-capturing zone in Aceh sea waters is identified at 5-8° north latitude (N) and 96-99° east longitude (E). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anapedia is a web-based encyclopedia designed specifically for children. The web was built because there are still very few Indonesian-language encyclopedias for children. This paper presents an evaluation of the usability of the Anapedia website developed for children in Indonesia to retrieve information available in a wide range of areas. In the context of usability evaluation of children encyclopedia, this is the first study to analyze usability problems identified by experts during the heuristic inspection on their overall evaluation score. This evaluation, performed by seven usability experts, involved the identification and analysis of usability problems in the selected website. The assessment process was mainly based on the Sirius framework evaluation mechanism. The web considered as having high usability level, but they identified many usability problems for further improvement of the site. This paper presents performance analysis of a 2 kW wind turbine in the Southern Beach of Bantul. The Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources targets by 2025 of at least 23% of the total national electricity supply comes from renewable energy sources. Government programs must be supported by all regions to help build renewable energy power plants to its potential of each. In this case, the district of Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region Province, Indonesia, particularly the southern coastal region is very likely to be developed wind power plant. In this research, the create-designing and testing of wind power with maximum capacity of 2 kW is done. The test has been carried out on September 5 and 6, 2015 at the Baru Beach, Srandakan, Bantul. The test results on September 5, 2015 showed that the highest power generator occurred at 12:40 PM is 768.96 watts, with a wind speed of 8.76 m/s, AC voltage of generator is 40.00 volts, the DC voltage generator after rectified be 53.40 volts, and the load current is 14.40 ampere. In this condition, the 2 kW wind turbine has the efficiency of 38.4%. Furthermore, the test results dated 6 September 2015 found that the highest power generator at 10:50 PM is 842.20 watts, with a wind speed 9.53 m/s. At this peak condition resulting AC voltage of generator of 39.00 volts, the DC voltage of 49.60 volts, the load current of 17.00 amperes, and resulting in efficiency of 42.1%. The research results indicate that wind turbine is an alternative solution in the southern coastal region of Bantul for the supply of renewable energy sources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents how to characterize the quality of multimedia which consists of audio and video that are transmitted in real-time communication through the Internet with limited bandwidth. We developed a methodology of characterizing the multimedia Quality-of-Service (QoS) by measuring network parameters (i.e., bandwidth capacity, packet loss rate (PLR), and end-to-end delay) of testbed network and simulating the audio-video delivery according to the measured network parameters. The analysis of network parameters was aimed to describe the network characteristics. Multimedia QoS was characterized by conducting a simulation using data which was collected from the previous network characterization. A simulation network model was built using OMNet++ representing a delivery of audio-video in real-time while a background traffic was generated to represent a real condition of the network. Apllying the methodology in a network testbed in Indonesia's rural area, the simulation results showed that audio-video could be delivered with accepted level of user satisfaction. Trust of using automated teller machine (ATM) is a daunting task for many Indonesians, where the security issues associated with it, still haunting them. The paper examines the collaborative issues related to the ATM security such as: perceived usefulness and ease of use, perceived security, trust, intention to use and actual system use, by using revised technical acceptance model (TAM) according to the banking purposes. The study takes customer samples of major leading banks in Indonesia and expected to present the current situation faced by many Indonesians when dealing with the ATM security. One physical sign of a person who has Alzheimer's is the diminution of the area of the hippocampus and ventricles. A good quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) will provide a high-quality image so that the doctor will quickly analyze the abnormalities of the hippocampus and ventricle area. However, for low-quality MRI, this is difficult to do. This condition will be a significant problem for some regions in developing countries including Indonesia, where many hospitals have only low-quality MRI, and many hospitals do not have them at all. The primary purpose of this research is to develop simple tools to analyze morphological characteristics in Alzheimer's patients. In this paper, we focus only on coronal slice analysis. We will use watershed method segmentation, because of this method able to segment the boundaries automatically, so that parts of the hippocampus and ventricles can be identified in an MRI image. Analysis of morphological characteristics is also classified by age and gender. Then by referring to the value of the clinical dementia rating (CDR), the process of identifying between images with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and healthy models is done based on the morphological analysis that has been done. Photovoltaic (PV) is a renewable electric energy generator that utilizes solar energy. PV is very suitable to be developed in Surabaya, Indonesia. Because Indonesia is located around the equator which has 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season in Indonesia occurs in April to September. The power generated by PV is highly dependent on temperature and solar radiation. Therefore, accurate forecasting of short-term PV power is important for system reliability and large-scale PV development to overcome the power generated by intermittent PV. This paper proposes the Jordan recurrent neural network (JRNN) to predict short-term PV power based on temperature and solar radiation. JRNN is the development of artificial neural networks (ANN) that have feedback at each output of each layer. The samples of temperature and solar radiation were obtained from April until September in Surabaya. From the results of the training simulation, the mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) values were obtained at 1.3311 and 34.8820, respectively. The results of testing simulation, MSE and MAPE values were obtained at 0.9858 and 1.3311, with a time of 4.591204. The forecasting has minimized significant errors and short processing times. Website interactivity is increasingly essential for higher education institutions in maintaining their relationship with stakeholders. However, limited is known what the level interactivity of a university website is without comparing with other similar educational institutions. Through the use of website content analysis and benchmarking strategy, we evaluate 41 government university website for benchmarking purposes. Base on thirteen interactive criteria, we successfully benchmarked the government university websites and built a-five levels of websites interactivity with different features. Our study highlights that higher level interactivity of website contains more feature that support a two-way communication between university and consumers, while lower level of websites interactivity merely have basic features for communication. The findings suggest the highest level of websites interactivity, the more features they should have. More importantly, the findings suggest web developer to design more interactive features in developing a higher level of website interactivity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Readiness and usability issues are important attributes of an information system (IS) success. Currently, IS studies that have been assessing the issues in suburban areas are still limited. The purpose of this study was to measure the above-mentioned phenomena by combining the readiness and usability models. The proposed model consisted out 10 constructs with 25 indicators. The four constructs were from the readiness model and the six ones were the usability model. The 89 samples were collected using an online survey based on purposive random sampling. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 3.2.8 was used for analyzing the data. The findings may have contributed to the IS research field, in terms of the readiness and usability issues on the IS use in a suburban area in Indonesia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presented the research result on the design of pulmonary TB (Tuberculosis) detection systems using a statistical approach. The study aimed to address two problems in detecting pulmonary TB by doctors, especially in remote areas of Indonesia, namely the long waiting time for patients to get the doctor's diagnosis and the doctor's subjectivity. We used hundreds of X-ray images from radiology department of Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta, as primary data and thirty data from various sources on the internet as secondary data. Using statistical approach, we exploited statistical image feature from image histogram, examined two statistical methods of PCA and LDA transformation for feature extraction, and two minimum distance classifier in image classification. We also used histogram equalization in the image enhancement process and bicubic interpolation in image segmentation and template making. Test results on primary and secondary data images show the identification accuracy of 94% and 83.3%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The dominant propagation factor affecting the outage and spectral efficiency of millimeter-wave communication systems operating at frequencies 30 GHz is rain attenuation. Adaptive modulation is proposed to improve the outage and spectral efficiency performance of the system. This paper presents an analytical procedure for the evaluation of the outage and spectral efficiency of the system in Indonesia with heavy rain rate. As validation, analytic and simulation results are compared. The results show that adaptive modulation can significantly improve outage and spectral efficiency performance of the system, especially for links with relatively long distance. Given that electronic filing is one of the earliest e-government services in Indonesia, additional research is needed to determine the antecedents of service users’ perceived net benefit. The e-government system success model by DeLone and McLean was used in this study, however trust factors were added to the government, technology, and e-government websites as antecedents. 195 individual taxpayers were sent a questionnaire including 39 statements as part of the study examination. Data were analyzed using structural equation model-partial least square (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of WarpPLS. This study concludes that these three antecedents determine the success of the e-government system, and thus that e-government development is the integration of trust in government, which is built by increasing its credibility in the eyes of the public, trust in technology, which can be accomplished through education, and trust in e-government websites, which can be accomplished by consistently improving the security and quality of government website services. Rain is one of the attenuation factors in very high frequency radio wave. Attenuation caused by rainfall gives a big impact in communication systems, especially wireless communication systems at millimeter-wave. This paper seeks to apply the fuzzy auto-regressive model (fuzzy AR) for rainfall in Indonesia. In this study, firstly the rainfall is measured, followed by getting the fuzzy variables for each event of rainfall measurements. Thirdly, the fuzzy variables based on the timing of the rain to get a fuzzy time series is set, and fourth step is the fuzzy time series modeling as a fuzzy AR(2) process. The fifth is estimating the matrix of model parameter, and the last step is simulating the generation of rainfall using fuzzy AR(2) model. The results obtained from the generation of simulated rainfall with Fuzzy AR(2) shows a good agreement with the actual measurement results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indonesia resides on most earthquake region with more than 100 active volcanoes, and high number of seismic activities per year. In order to reduce the casualty, some method to predict earthquake have been developed to estimate the seismic movement. However, most prediction use only short term of historical data to predict the incoming earthquake, which has limitation on model performance. This work uses medium to long term earthquake historical data that were collected from 2 local government bodies and 8 legitimate international sources. We make an estimation of a mediumto- long term prediction via machine learning algorithms, which are multinomial logistic regression, support vector machine and Na¨ıve Bayes, and compares their performance. This work shows that the support vector machine outperforms other method. We compare the root mean square error computation results that lead us into how concentrated data is around the line of best fit, where the multinomial logistic regression is 0.777, Na¨ıve Bayes is 0.922 and support vector machine is 0.751. In predicting future earthquake, support vector machine outperforms other two methods that produce significant distance and magnitude to current earthquake report. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Adopting technology could give competitive advantage and positively impact the hotel's profitability, thus hotels should keep up with the latest hotel technologies. An important part in the hotel services is the customer service. A problem with the human-to-human customer services today is a long time in answering customers query. On the other hand, nowadays customers need easy and effective services. Thus, a chatbot is required to answer consumers' issues automatically which leads to higher customer satisfaction and a growing profit. Because of the need and there is still an absence of chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, this study is conducted. The chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, named Bershca, has been successfully developed using artificial intelligence markup language (AIML) to construct the knowledge. Google Flutter is used for the system's front-end, while Python is used for the back-end of the system. As a text-preprocessing method, Nazief-Adriani Algorithm is implemented in the system's back-end. The system is evaluated using technology acceptance model (TAM). As a result, 85.7% of the respondents believe that using chatbot would enhance their job performance and 84.33% of the respondents believe that using the technology would be free of effort. Indonesia located in South East Asia countries with tropical region, forest fires in Indonesia is one of big issue and disaster because it happens in almost of every year, this is because of some of region consist of peat land that high risk for fire especially in dry season. Riau Province is one of region that regularly incident of forest fire with affected the length and breadth of Indonesia. Propose development of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) for detection of land and forest fire hotspot in Indonesia as well as one of the main consents in this research, case location in Riau province is at one of the regions that high risk forest fire in dry season. WSNs technology used for ground sensor system to collect environmental data. Data training for fire hotspot detection is done in data center to determine and conclude of fire hotspot then potential to become big fire. The deployment of sensors located at several locations that has potential for fire incident, especially as data shown in previous case and forecast location with potential fire happen. Mathematical analysis is used in this case for modelling number of sensors required to deploy and the size of forest area. The design and development of WSNs give high impact and feasibility to overcome current issues of forest fire and fire hotspot detection in Indonesia. Rice (Oryza Sativa) is the main food for Indonesian people, thus maintaining the stability of rice production in Indonesia becomes an important issue for further study. A strategy to overcome the issue is to apply precision agriculture (PA) using remote sensing images as a reference due to its effectiveness. The initial stage of PA is suitability analysis of rice varieties, including INPARA, INPARI, and INPAGO. While the representative features that can be extracted from remote sensing images and related to agriculture field are NDVI, NDWI, NDSI, and BI. Therefore, the aim of this study is to identify the best model for analyzing the most suitable superior rice varieties using Learning Vector Quantization. The results show that the best LVQ model is obtained at learning rate value of 0.001, epsilon value of 0.1, and the features combination of NDWI and BI values (in standard deviation). Improving website quality for e-commerce website is indispensable since it affects customer satisfaction. There are several aspects of website quality that should be considered. Unfortunately, what criteria that should be prioritized is still under research. This research aims to identify the priority of website quality criteria and incorporate these criteria to measure the quality of ten e-commerce websites in Indonesia using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). This study interviews two experts to assign priority for each criterion. In the end, this study has found that availability is the uttermost aspect to consider. Furthermore, this study also found that OLX.com is the best Customer-to-Customer (C2C) e-commerce in Indonesia in terms of website quality. This research is useful for any e-commerce technical developer to improve his/her website in twofold: 1) criteria priority to improve the quality of C2C e-commerce websites and 2) website quality ranking of C2C e-commerce. Disaster recovery from underwater earthquake, plane crashes into the sea, and monitoring underwater cables or piping for energy purpose are underwater missions for Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) in ASEAN MATE 2018 Competition. Two essentials factor to perform successfully in this ROV competition are design of an efficient communication protocol system and a low-cost communication hardware. In this research, an optimal communication system between RS-232 serial communication transmission and RS-485 serial communication transmission is developed to obtain the optimal solution. Both communication system is tested in Tech_SAS ROV-Telkom University Indonesia, a microcontroller underwater ROV based which used single microcontroller to control actuator, sensor and communication, and measured the Quality of Services (QoS) for end-to-end delay and packets loss. From the the experiment and evaluation for the two schemes, shows 12.57 ms end-to-end delay, 0% data packet error and $6 RS-485 communication system are the optimal solution for Tech_SAS ROV. Food security is still one of the main issues faced by Indonesia due to its large population. Rice as a staple food in Indonesia has experienced a decline in production caused by unpredictable climate change. In dealing with climate change, adaptation to fluctuating rice productivity must be made. This study aims to build a prediction model of wetland rice production on climate change in South Kalimantan Province which is one of the national rice granary province and the number one rice producer in Kalimantan Island. This study uses monthly climatic data from Syamsudin Noor Meteorological Station and quarterly wetland rice production data from Central Bureau of Statistics of South Kalimantan. In this research, Support Vector Regression (SVR) method is used to model the effect of climate change on wetland rice production in South Kalimantan. The model is then used to predict the amount of wetland rice production in South Kalimantan. The results showed that the prediction model with the RBF kernel with the parameter of C=1.0, epsilon=0.002 and gamma=0.2 produces good results with the RMSE value of 0.1392. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The impact of a large population will affect the level of welfare of the community to decrease, and the number of unemployment is increasing so that the state makes Family Planning Program (PLKB) to control the rate of population growth. Problems in the PLKB program are on knowledge management and mapping from data contraception, counseling and planning so that this research using Ontology method will aim to do mapping with knowledge management and Ontology design shows represented data to relate and describes the resources contained in family planning data. Indonesia is one of the tropical country with high rainfall. It causes a flood disaster that with the loss of property and life. Currently handling flood disasters in developing countries are still using many conventional ways. By using conventional way the flood early warning system is still not able to reach the wider community so that information too late of impending disaster received by the public. Besides that the speed of information is needed in the handling of disasters. Therefore a rapid flood warning system that can reach a wide area such as the internet is necessary to minimize the effects of disasters. IoT (Internet of Thing) is smart technology which has capability to send data in real time, connected to the smart phone, sensor and web service. This ability can be used for smart application to control and manage an early warning system. In this research we also use IoT technology to monitor and control the early detection system of flood disaster. By using IoT technology, sensor data can be sent in real time from sensor to smartphone through internet network. The sensor data contains the water characteristics data on the dam that will be processed in the data base. The processing data of water characteristic will be a decision of hazard level. That decision will be sent to users as notification into the user smartphone application. Bengkulu city is well-known as a high-risk area for an earthquake. One of the effects of the earthquake is liquefaction, the phenomenon in which the strength and stiffness of the soil are reduced by shock. The researchers measured the quantity of liquefaction by knowing the value of Vs30 values that can be obtained from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). In this study, however, we measured liquefaction based on the shear strain value (γ). Here, the shear strain values could be determined by measuring the seismic vulnerability index and the peak ground acceleration. The vulnerability index was obtained by measuring the resonance of the frequency and the amplification factor using a short period seismometer with 3 components (2 horizontal components and 1 vertical component), whereas the peak ground accelerationα was obtained from the earthquake data that happened in Bengkulu City in 2000. Sentiment analysis in short informal texts like product reviews is more challenging. Short texts are sparse, noisy, and lack of context information. Traditional text classification methods may not be suitable for analyzing sentiment of short texts given all those difficulties. A common approach to overcome these problems is to enrich the original texts with additional semantics to make it appear like a large document of text. Then, traditional classification methods can be applied to it. In this study, we developed an automatic sentiment analysis system of short informal Indonesian texts using Naïve Bayes and Synonym Based Feature Expansion. The system consists of three main stages, preprocessing and normalization, features expansion and classification. After preprocessing and normalization, we utilize Kateglo to find some synonyms of every words in original texts and append them. Finally, the text is classified using Naïve Bayes. The experiment shows that the proposed method can improve the performance of sentiment analysis of short informal Indonesian product reviews. The best sentiment classification performance using proposed feature expansion is obtained by accuracy of 98%.The experiment also show that feature expansion will give higher improvement in small number of training data than in the large number of them. Indonesia is one of the countries in this world that has the most outstanding fishery potential. There are more than 3000 fish species under Indonesia's sea, yet the people are still not able to relish them completely. Illegal fishing by foreign ships in Indonesia's territorial sea is one of the reasons why this happens. In order to minimize this kind of loss, those ships should be detected automatically by implementing image processing and artificial intelligence techniques. The study proposed techniques for automatic detection of ships at sea on digital images. These techniques are global image thresholding and artificial neural network backpropagation. We propose an entity tagger for Indonesian tweets sent during labor strike events using supervised learning methods. The aim of the tagger is to extract the date, location and the person/organization involved in the strike. We use SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique) as an oversampling technique and conducted several experiments using Twitter data to evaluate different settings with varying machine learning algorithms and training data sizes. In order to test the low resource features, we also conducted experiments for the system without employing the word list feature and the word normalization. Our results indicated that different treatment of different types of machine learning algorithms with low resource features can lead to a good accuracy score. Here, we tried Naïve Bayes, C4.5, Random Forest and SMO (Sequential Minimal Optimization) algorithms using Weka as the machine learning tools. For the Naïve Bayes, due to the data distribution based of the class probability, the best accuracy was achieved by removing data duplication. For C4.5 and Random Forest, SMOTE gave higher accuracy result compared to the original data and the data with data duplication removal. Batik is an Indonesian national heritage which has been recognised as a world cultural heritage (world heritage). Batik is widely used as clothing material. The advancement of technology allowed the material optimisation in clothing design. Geometrical information about abatik image is required in a module for optimising clothing design with batik as a raw material. Geometric feature extraction of batik image is used to help a computer to recognise batik's pattern or motif. This research proposes a method for geometric feature extraction of batik image by using cardinal spline curve representation. The method for geometric feature extraction is divided into 2 processes, i.e., feature extraction for Klowongan and feature extraction for Isen-Isen. Klowongan represents the pattern of batik image, whereas Isen-Isen is content patterns of Klowongan. Feature extraction of Klowongan is performed by deleting collinear points from object boundaries until the dominant points are obtained. The dominant points are then used as control points. Feature extraction of Isen-Isen is performed by saving coordinates of every connected component which are also used as control points. Geometricfeature of batik image is represented as a set of control points of klowongan and isen-isen. Batik image can be reconstructed by drawing cardinal spline curve using a set of control points in the geometric representation. Landslides in many regions constitute serious hazards that cause substantial life and financial losses. To overcome and reduce the damages, efforts to monitor landslides are developed. One such technology utilizes a wireless sensor network (WSN). Results obtained from studies conducted in the Ikanfoti village, Kupang District, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Province (S 10°16' 21.9" and E 123°40'59.8") as pilot project, give result that the application of WSN can be applied properly. We detect and measure vibrations caused by landslides by vibration sensor (accelerometer) on Micaz devices. The results of this study indicate that changes in accelerometer values ranging from 0.2 g (gravity) to 0.49 g of either the X or Y of accelerometer indicate that soil begins to move but not significantly. Value above 0.5 g is a value that indicating a significant change of ground motion. The value of 1 g and above of ground motion indicates a very strong activity and should be alarmed. It is expected that this research provides the foundation for the application of WSN in various areas in NTT Province and Indonesia in general, for establishing thorough and reliable early warning system (EWS).
