This paper analyzes 5046 research publications in physical science that Haryana had published during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana registered 14.28% growth per year and citation impact of 6.0 citations per paper. Haryana's research output in physical science accounted for 19.42% state share and 1.72% country share in S&T during 2005-14. Nearly 13.5% of Haryana's output appeared as International collaborative papers. Chemistry and physics & astronomy accounted for the largest share (37.38% and 33% respectively). The top 20 most productive organizations of Haryana accounted for 83.25% and 86.12% publication and citation share, registered average productivity of 210.5 papers per organization, averaged 6.20 citations per paper, h-index of 13.85, and averaged 10.95% share as international collaborative papers of during 2005-14. The top 20 most productive authors from Haryana-based organizations accounted for 22.39% publications share, 31.75% citations share, registered average productivity of 56.5 papers per author, averaged 8.50 citations per paper, h-index of 11.85%, and 8.67% share as international collaborative papers during 2005-14. Nearly 18% of Haryana's papers in physical science were reported in top 20 journals during 2005-14. Haryana contributed 18 highly cited papers with 100 + citations per paper. Together these 18 papers cumulated 3129 citations, with an average of 173.83 citations per paper during 2005-14. This paper analyzes 8090 research publications in the area of life sciences in Haryana published during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana averaged 12.20% annual growth in life science research, citation impact of 5.64 citations per paper during 2005-14. Haryana published 24.08% of its research output in life science as national collaborative papers and 12.48% as international collaborative papers during 2005-14. Among its various subfields, agricultural & biological sciences dominated life science research accounting for the share (51.61%). The top 20 most productive organizations based out in Haryana accounted for 84.36% share, registered average productivity of 341.25, averaged 6.01 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 12.5 during 2005-14. The top 20 most productive authors with affiliations to Haryana accounted for 13.91% share, registered average productivity of 56.25 papers per author, and averaged 8.88 citations per paper, and averaged h-index of 13.91 during 2005-14. The top 25 journals accounted for 32.44% share of total output (8090) by the state. Thirty 30 highly cited papers received 100 + citations and together cumulated 4890 citations, with an average citation per paper of 163.0 during 2005-14. This paper analyzes 5677 research publications that Haryana had contributed in the area of engineering science during the last ten years (2005-14). The publications data was sourced from Scopus International database. The findings reveal that Haryana achieved significantly faster growth rate in engineering science (22.59% CAGR) but witnessed low level citation impact of 4.40 citations per paper, contributed merely 20 highly cited papers, and accounted for very low share (9.79%) of international collaborative papers in its total output during 2005-14. Engineering field with 52.37% share dominated Haryana's publications output in engineering science whereas the other sub-fields (materials science, computer science, chemical engineering and energy) were distant cousins in engineering science. The top 20 most productive organizations output in Haryana had average productivity of 205.1, averaged 4.91 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 12.5, and averaged 8.68% share of international collaborative publications. The top 20 most productive authors with affiliations to Haryana had average productivity of 49.9, averaged 6.68 citations per paper, averaged h-index of 6.61, and averaged 6.51% share of international collaborative publications during 2005-14. The paper studied the quantitative and qualitative dimensions of quantum dots research by India for the period 2000-2019. The data for the study was sourced from the Scopus database. India's research in this field was analyzed in the global context. India contributed 4946 publications and the global output in the subject was 92,004 publications. The study analyzed publications and citation data at the global, national, institutional, and individual author level using metrics such as publication growth, international collaborative publications, citations per paper, global publication share, and activity index. The study also analyzed data by subjects intersecting quantum dots research, by quantum dots applications, technologies, and materials studied for quantum dots research. The study highlights the topmost productive countries in the world, most productive institutions, and authors in quantum research in India. Though India ranks as the fifth most productive country in the world in quantum dots research., the body of research in the subject is still small and insignificant compared to other top countries. This paper attempts to study the research performance of University of Hyderabad in terms of its research output between 1999 and 2008 including the number of papers published annually, its growth rate, publication share, quality, and citation impact of publications. The publication productivity and impact of the university under broad subject areas and departments were also examined and analyzed based on the hindex and p-index. The study also identifies and evaluates the characteristics of prolific authors and their research communication in productive journals. The present study is an evaluation of the authorship and collaboration pattern in the International Journal of Information Dissemination and Technology (IJIDT) during 2011-2022. A total of 563 contributions were published during the study period out of which 175 articles are published by a single author and 388 articles are published by two or more two authors. It is clear from the study that multiple authorship patterns are prominent in the IJIDT journal. In the study it has been counted that the average degree of collaboration was 1.81, the average collaboration coefficient was 0.40, the average modified collaboration coefficient was 0.40, the average relative growth rate was 0.21, and the average time to double was 5.15. The highest activity index for India is counted in the years 2015, 2016, and 2021 respectively, and the lowest activity index is counted in 2014. This study has sought to evaluate the global sentiment analysis research (14025 records) on quantitative and qualitative metrics to understand the current status of research in the subject at global, national, institutional, and individual author level. The data for the study was sourced from the Scopus database covering the period 2003-2020. The global research in the subject registered an 81.15% annual average growth and averaged 11.91 citations per paper. India, China, and USA lead the global ranking of the top 10 most productive countries, with (18.37%, 17.71%, and 13.36%) respectively as their global publications share. The study identifies the most productive and most impactful research organizations and authors in the subject, profiles the highly cited papers, the share of international collaborative papers and the most productive source journals, and the most productive organizations as well as the leading authors. This paper analyzes 362 research publications of the Panjab University in social sciences during ten years (2006-15), as covered in Scopus International database. The study quantifies publication data in various aspects of publication performance, such as the publication growth, research impact and quality, national and international collaboration, contribution and impact of authors, major areas of research and preferred channels of research communications. The findings reveal that Panjab University total publications in social sciences had increased at an annual average growth rate of 30.84% and registered an average citation impact per paper of 2.38 during 2006-15. Of its total publications by Panjab University in social sciences 58.01% publications did not get any citations as against 41.99% getting 1 or more citations. The 20.99% and 9.12% of the Panjab University publications in social sciences were involved in national and international collaboration during 2006-15. In terms of performance of Panjab University among the 20 most productive Indian universities in th th social sciences, Panjab University stood at 6 rank in terms of publications output, 9 rank in h-index th and 11 rank in average citation per paper during 2006-15. Of the 279 authors of Panjab University involved in 362 papers, the top 30 most productive authors in social sciences together contributed 60.5% and 73.26% share of total publications and citations of Panjab University in social sciences during 2006-15. Of the 140 journals contributing to Punjab University in social science research output, the top 29 journals together accounted for 48.07% share of the Panjab University output in social sciences during 2006-15. This paper aimed to investigate, analyze and visualize the scientific output of global virology research by examining the collaborative pattern and co-authorship network. A total of 80220 records were extracted from the web of science database after searching 'Virology' as a research area. Multi-authored papers are more than single-authored papers with 85% of the whole. The degree of collaboration was 0.994 in the field of Virology. Wang Y is the most active author with 429 papers, 5621 total citations, and 37 h-index. To understand the trend of evolution pattern and proximity of efficiency, we investigate a co-authorship network of a relatively new and emerging academic field. Neurotoxicity occurs when the exposure to natural or artificial toxic substances, which are called neurotoxins, alters the normal activity of the nervous system in such a way as to cause damage to nervous tissue. Neurotoxic substances play a role in triggering neurological disorders among humans. The present study provides a quantitative analysis of research productivity of India in the field of neurotoxicology during the ten year span of 2001-10. The data for the study has been taken from Scopus database. It was found that 963 papers have been produced by Indian contributors accounting for 2.31% of the world literature during this time period. This paper analyzes 833 research publications of the Panjab University in chemistry during eight years (2008-15), as covered in Scopus International database. The study quantifies publication data in various aspects of performance, such as the publication growth, research impact and quality, national and international collaboration, contribution and impact of authors, major areas of research and preferred channels of research communications and characteristics of higher cited papers. The findings reveal that Panjab University total publications in chemistry has increased at an annual average growth rate of 17.04% and registered an average citation impact per paper of 6.38 during 2008-15. Of its total publications (833), 22.33% publications of Panjab University did not get any citations as against 77.67% getting 1 or more citations. The 28.69% and 25.81% of the Panjab University publications in chemistry were involved in national and international collaboration during 2008-15. th Among its performance in top 20 most productive Indian universities, Punjab University stood at 16 th rank in terms of publications output (833) and h-index (27), 13 rank in average citation per paper th (6.38) and share of high cited papers (0.12%) and 8 rank in terms of international collaborative papers (25.81%) during 2008-15. The paper examines quality and quantity of scientific research in India as reflected in publications output on grid computing on a series of bibliometric indicators. Data were extracted from Scopus database consisting of 1340 publications in grid computing research from India in 10 years during 2008-17 citation impact of 4.33 citations per paper and international collaborative publication share of 12.16%. The paper profiles global publication output and share of 10 most productive countries in grid computing research, 15 most productive Indian organizations and 15 most productive authors on a series of indicators including publications output, number of citations, the relative citation index, citations per paper, h-index and share of international collaborative papers during 2008-17. Computer science, among top 3 subjects, accounted for the largest publication share (90.15%), followed by engineering (26.79%) and mathematics (13.66%). The 15 most leading organizations and authors together contributed 31.57% and 14.25% as their share of Indian publication output and 44.93% and 16.17% as their share of Indian citation output respectively during 2008-17. The total of 3,818 publications collected from the Web of Science database had their collected data measured using scientometric techniques. The search strategy TS=topic for black holes research was refined to 15 years, from 2008 to 2022, and only selected Indian research productivity. The collected data was measured from various angles and types of documents, with 97.590% articles and the highest annual growth rate of 23.664% in 2018. The most prolific author, Ajith Parameshwaran, from the Bangalore International Center for theoretical science, published 119 papers with 32,405 citations (61 h-index). The Journal of Physical Review is the most prolific, with 604 publications and 16,068 citations. The most frequent keyword occurrences are "black holes," with 435 reflected. The Department of Science and Technology in New Delhi is the most prolific, having published 664 papers with a total of 14,346 citations (58 h-index). The black research involved 80 countries, out of which India secured the 8th place in the world's contribution. The study analyses the Indian research output consisting of 1014 papers on Hepatitis C during 2005-2014 on different parameters including its publication growth, citation impact, share of international collaborative papers and identification of major international collaborative partners, global rank and share of India amongst the top 20 most productive countries, productivity and citation impact of leading Indian institutes and authors, medium of communication in most productive journals. The Scopus bibliographical citation database has been used to download and retrieve the publication data on Hepatitis C for 10 years (2005-2014). The Indian research output on Hepatitis C witnessed an average annual growth rate of 30.18%, the average citation per paper of 7.71 (33.33%) of international collaborative publications and accounted for 1.86% share of global output during 2005-14. Medicine accounted for the largest publication share (61.0%) on Indian output on Hepatitis C during 2005-14, followed by biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology (16.10%), immunology & microbiology (9.37%), pharmacology, toxicology & pharmaceutics (9.15%), agricultural & biological sciences (2.57%) and chemistry (1.81%). The top 15 most productive organizations and authors together contributed 45.46% and 28.50% of the publication share and 28.50% and 53.75% citation share to the Indian publications output on Hepatitis C during the period. The paper examines 5407 Indian publications in catalysis research, as covered in Scopus database during 2006-15, using a series of bibliometric indicators. Catalysis research in the world is dominated mainly by 10 main countries including China, USA, Japan, India, Germany, France, South Korea, Iran, Spain and U.K. which together accounted for as much as 82.45% of the global publication share in catalysis research output during 2006-15. China is the world leader in catalysis research (28.12% global share) followed far behind by USA (14.93% global share). India is ranked 4th top country in the world in catalysis research for its global share of 5.94% in 10 years during 2006-15. India's collaboration on catalysis research was the largest with the USA accounting for 22.54% ICP share, followed by Japan (17.01%), South Korea (13.22%), and 12 other countries during 2006-15. India registered faster annual growth in catalysis research (10.8%) compared to 5.78% by the total world countries. India's citation impact in catalysis research in 10 years averaged to 24.30 citations per paper. India contributed only 50 cited papers which registered 100 or more citations per paper, averaging citation impact to 141.56 citations per paper. This paper evaluates comparative R&D status and performance of Haryana and India in life sciences, physical sciences, medical sciences, engineering sciences, and social sciences using bibliometric indicators. The data for the study was sourced from SCOPUS database covering the period 2005-14. The study revealed that Haryana registered faster growth (14.65%) in R&D output than the whole nation (11.91%). India's research base in R&D sector is 40 times bigger (781,392) than that of Haryana (19,464 publications). Haryana registered 2.49% national share in the total output by India during 2005-14. The national and international collaborative share of publications in Haryana's output were 19.96% and 11.23% during 2005-14. Life sciences accounted for the largest share (31.15%), followed by medical sciences (22.64%), engineering sciences (21.85%), physical sciences (19.42% share), and social sciences (4.95%). The most productive 25 organizations, 20 authors and 20 journals together accounted for 75.87%, 9.24% and 18.03% share respectively of the Haryana's research output during 2005-14. In the total output of Haryana, there were only 54 highly cited papers, which received citations from 100 to 1096. To understand the impact of highly cited articles in Indian Pharmaceutical research and the role of research organizations, contributing authors and their international collaborations, through their citation distribution and publication published during 1998-2017. Papers those received minimum 200 citations since their publication, were known as 'highly cited publications'. Major contributor Index is a new indicator used for assessing the contributions of authors and Institutions in terms of their independent research ability, leadership role and their impact in collaborative research. India with 274 highly cited articles holds the 10th position with 2.51% of the world's share during 1998-2017. These 274 Highly Cited papers received 90911 citations with an average of 331.79 citations per papers. Out of 18 leading authors in Pharmaceutical research with at least 3 highly cited publications, 9 authors are considered as authors with high potential to conduct the research independently while other 9 authors depend on others in research collaboration. The present study looks at 912 publications from India on supply chain management as covered in Scopus database during 2006-15. The study reported an annual average growth rate of 11.74% for publications and citation impact of 9.34 citations per paper. The global publications on supply change management came from several countries, of which the top 10 accounted for 80.28% of global publication share during 2006-15. A total of 225 organizations and 304 authors participated in Indian research on supply chain management during 2006-15. The top 25 organizations contributed 53.62% publications share and accounted for 56.75% citations share. The top 25 authors contributed 36.69% publications share and accounted for 74.13% citation share. China is the world leader in research output on supply chain management, followed by USA, etc. The top 20 journals accounted for 52.98% share of the journal output. The top 20 highly cited papers varied from 61 to 829 citations per paper, and together these papers accounted for 3058 citations, resulting in the average at 278 citations per paper. This paper focuses on the growth and development of oncology research in India in terms of publication output as reflected in the Web of Science database. A total of 1380 publications were published in the field from 2011 to 2020. The highest number of publications 239 were published in 2020. The highest value of compound annual growth rate i.e. 0.204 was recorded in the year 2012 and the lowest CAGR i.e. -0.068 was recorded in the year 2016. The compound annual growth rate of publications was in fluctuated from 2011 to 2020. The relative growth rates have decreased from 0.90 (2012) to 0.19 (2020). The doubling time has gradually increased from 0.77 (2012) to 3.64 (2020). The study also found that the average Immediacy Index was 35.26, the average RCI value is 0.98 and the average relative citation impact is 0.98 during 2011-2020. Out of 1380 total publications, the highest number of papers are published in the form of journal articles. The paper analysis 100 Indian high productivity organizations involved in mathematics research, using publications data indexed in Scopus database from 2005-14. It identified the overall strength and weakness of these 100 organizations, in terms of selective qualitative and quantitative indicators. The present study examines 1383 Indian publications on "Hernia" as covered in Scopus database during 2006-15, experiencing an annual average growth rate of 6.75% and citation impact per paper of 3.12. The global publications on "Hernia" came from more than 100 countries, of which the top 10 accounted for 67.57% share of the global publication output. 214 organizations and 329 authors participated in Indian research on "Hernia" during 2006-15, of which the top 20 organizations and 20 authors contributed 38.97% and 19.45% publications share and 3.57% and 55.43%citation share respectively of the Indian output and citations. All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi in India has recommended some online databases to subscribe to technical educational institutions in India. The present study tries to measure cost-effectiveness of downloaded papers from such a database. The study is based on the usage reports and subscription prices of the databases available in an engineering college library. It was found that most of the databases are cost-effective except only one database. Downloads were found not uniform through all the months in a year. The paper undertakes comparative assessment of India and the world literature in social science covering the period 1996-2014 on a series of bibliometric indicators. The data for the study was sourced from SCImago Journals and Country Rank database. The study reveals that status of India in social science research in comparison to the world is not encouraging. In terms of quality and quantity of publications, India stands low on comparative indicators such as global citations share (0.41%), relative citation index (0.44), global publication share (1.41%), and international collaborative publications share (18.14%). India's annual growth rate in social science research (12.66%) has however been faster relative to the world (6.80%). India's international collaborative research share was largest in social science - general (7.8%) and the least in psychology (1.58%). In the remaining three subdisciplines covering social science, the country's share of International collaborative papers was modest (varying 2.5% to 3.6% of the total output in social science). This article is based on the content analysis of research articles published in the Defence Science Journal 2015-2019. In these five-year periods, 30 issues were published with 433 research articles. The finding shows that the majority of articles published with multi-authorship contributions especially two and three authors. Most of the published articles have a length of 11 to 15 pages. The present study is based on 9,162 citations, appended in the 77 doctoral theses of Sociology submitted to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and Osmania University, Hyderabad for the award of doctoral degree during the period 1974- 2005. It has been carried-out from 1974 to observe the distribution of authorship pattern, bibliographic form, core journals, country, language, subject wise distribution of journal citations and core periodicals. The single authored papers were highest contribution in book citations 76.77% of total citations, and multi authored papers were highest contribution 55.57% of the total journal citations. The sociology researchers in both the Universities referred mostly book source rather than other sources. An analysis, thus, on the quality of work life is essential to ensure happiness and contentment at the workplace. The present paper takes a look at the significance of assessing the quality of work life among employees, and its correlation with job satisfaction between them. The formation of green library is proceeding towards a turning point, giving rise to the green library movement comprising of libraries, librarians, towns, cities, colleges, and university campuses executing to greening libraries and lessening their environmental impact. This paper presents a quantitative study of productivity, characteristics and the aspects of food and nutrition. A total of 1291 Indian contributions covered in SCOPUS database were analysed the academic productivity of food and nutrition scientists in India during the period of 1960-2011. The study indicates that scientist from New Delhi 215, Andhra Pradesh 171, Karnataka 155 and Tamil Nadu 125 have published regularly. The research output is highly scattered as indicated by the average number of papers per institution and per states in India. The food and nutrition output is dominated by the two authored papers. This study is done to analyze the data regarding the number of publications of the universities administered and funded by Government of Odisha during the period 2000 to 2015 and indexed in SCOPUS database. This paper explores the current status of In-house digital repository initiated by the engineering college libraries of Odisha. Now the engineering college libraries have initiated a significant effort in the field of digitization that a digital repository helps to manage and capture their intellectual assets of the institutions. In this context, the study aimed to initiate innovation that has been made by engineering college libraries of Odisha. Libraries have been preserving the intellectual assets i.e. study material, question paper, NPTEL web/ video courses, Back volume, thesis & dissertation, and books. For digitization, the libraries are using some open source software and commercial software. This helps the libraries disseminate the information on a finger tip. This survey paper aims to find out how far the security is a concern and how the university libraries are lacking in this sector. The paper reviewed the literature on security issues and identified issues are verified through a survey of 21 University Libraries of West Bengal. The study finds out that security is a neglected area in libraries and only 5 university libraries have been able to cross a significant role. There is a need to evaluate the security scenario in the libraries of India and emphasis should be given on such issues. This paper gives an overview of open access publications in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The publication covers the indexed journal from India in DOAJ. Data was collected from the DOAJ website in August 2021. The result explained that 319 journals are published in India in 7 different languages. This study presents the year-wise journal publication from India with a start from 2003. The present study is an attempt to discover quantitative research out of Webology journal for the year 2007-2013. It is observed from the analysis that the maximum numbers of research output were written by solo authors, whereas the minimum quantities of research articles were published by multiple authors. Maximum number of scholarly articles were published in 2008 whereas the minimum numbers of articles were in 2009. The maximum articles were contributed by Indian authors i.e. (18.99 %), followed by Australia and Iran (12.64%) with second rank. The maximum research output i.e. 40 contributions (50.64%) by multiple authors and the minimum research outputs of 39 contributions (49.36%) have been contributed by single author. This study aims to understand the growth of scholarly literature produced by the Universities in the state of Tamil Nadu, India on the context of the performance of the higher education institutions in the state in global and national ranking frameworks. Based on data from Scopus, the study attempts to analyse the top ranking, major research, prolific authors, top publications, major collaborating countries etc. The study is limited to 40 universities out of a total of 52. The findings of the study reveals that Anna University is the top ranking university in the state with 17859 documents followed by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) with 10646 and University of Madras with 10474. The top three universities in Tamil Nadu come under the first top 30 institutions having more documents in Scopus from India. This study analyses performance and ranking of top 95 Indian universities out of a total of 138 Indian institutions covered in SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2013 report, data for which covers the period 2009-13. The first part of the paper compares top 95 universities for their quantitative and qualitative performance in research and concludes that quantity, not quality, is still the major strength of leading universities in India. Of top 95 universities, only 23 (24%) performed above average on quality indicator q2 (1.01 ~ 2.32, world average value is 1). In a comparative ranking study of top 30 universities, it was found that ranking positions of universities across four indicators were in disagreement varying with low to high margins. In a comparative study of publications shares across two rankings, the study found top 13 universities ranked on publications output (quantity) accounted for higher level publication share (65.4% of top 30 universities) compared to that (50.2%) of top 13 high-quality ranking universities. These findings suggest that top universities differ significantly in their qualitative and quantitative performance in research. The study also found that progression in quantity of research in universities over time does not result in a corresponding progression in quality of research. Thus publishing more, and more often, is not going to push up quality research in universities, or downsizing publication productivity is not going to push up quality. To push up quality of research, universities need to focus rather more on publishing in bulk original, innovative contributions with path-breaking results. The second part of the paper compares 95 universities for their quantitative and qualitative performance in research region wise across five broad geographical areas in the country: North India, South India, Western India, Eastern India and Central India. Here the longitudinal performance of various universities in each region is studied and compared.
