The vast and plural production of the woman architect, musician, activist, occasional educator and tireless researcher Anna Bofill Levi (Barcelona, 1944) is characterized by certain features that make its author a unique personality, although one hardly known and recognized in the Spanish and international circles that are the custodians of prestige in architecture. She has achieved most public recognition as a composer, the field in which she has been most productive over time and developed the furthest. Her music is characterized by the number of references, especially contemporary, she includes, the wide diversity of countries where it has been performed, and the range of people to whom she has dedicated her works, all these aspects testifying to her cosmopolitan and libertarian spirit and her commitment to equality. Her incessant writing, with all the reading it entails, has also left us with a large body of written work, extending over a number of fields, including most notably her reflections on the influence of the gender-based perspective on urban planning. A factor also reflected in her architecture, for example, in the implementation of participatory processes in her project designs. She joined the Taller de Arquitectura from the time she began her studies at the School of Architecture in Barcelona in 1964--she graduated in 1972--, and then commenced her independent career in 1981, although her first solo works date from 1977. Her work at the head of her office for almost 20 years is evidence of a tireless capacity for work and an unwavering commitment to people's welfare. This paper analyses Anna Bofill's contributions to feminist thinking through her work as an architect. Also, it addresses the study of a cultured person, a woman with great sensitivity and a strong political and personal commitment who has suffered discrimination and who hasmade rigor and determination themeans to achieve her non-negotiable freedom. Purpose: I provide an exploration and critique of reflexive research practice, which explores the nature of reflexivity, its relevance to and influence on accounting academic identity formation. Design/methodology/approach: The paper gives detailed explanations of three different approaches to reflexivity dependent on perspectives on reality and exemplifies the chosen approach – intersubjective reflexivity. It draws from three personal experiences to illustrate intersubjective reflexive practice in action and its impact on academic identity, including my own identity as a feminist accounting academic. The examples involve the process of reflexively "being struck" regarding voice and representation; addressing power, privilege and decolonisation in knowledge production; and negotiating insider/outsider academic identities. Findings: I reconceptualise and illustrate reflexivity as academic identity formation that enables transformative experience and more reflexive academic praxis within a turbulent academic context. Reflexive academic identity formation will resonate with accounting academics who are reflecting on the role and purpose of the accounting academy and their identity within it. Originality/value: The paper provides a significant contribution into understanding intersubjective reflexivity, by reconceptualising intersubjective reflexivity beyond research and applying it to the identity formation of accounting academics. I identify the process of reflexive identity transformation through active engagement in identity work and emotion work, which transforms academic praxis. I argue for a broader more nuanced and power-laden perspective on reflexivity and academic praxis, which moves us to consider the responsibility of our academic identity and actions as accounting academics. The narrative of a line of research from a feminist perspective involves describing the situated practices that contribute to understanding inequality in the construction of the social relationships that build links between human and nonhuman materialities. This paper aims to link feminist epistemology and actor–network theory to the expert network that produces, sustains and manages the design of the chemical zone of a fiber optic sensor (FOS) and of new smart materials, tracing the path of a university research group with important scientific publications that has also developed a line of work in the field of science, technology and society (STS). We are interested in the generalized division of labor and the role of science and technology in the creation of symbols in our culture, particularly in the field of expert knowledge, where research carried out by men and women constructs trajectories of academic success that are predominantly male. The transversal incorporation of gender analysis into the production of FOSs helps reveal the processes that have, up to this point, excluded women from prominent positions in publications. The paper explores the topic of the Jewish religious spatial practice of a mechitza -the physical separation of women and men in synagogues. At first glance, the mechitza appears to be an indisputable given as a normal part of Orthodox Judaism. At second glance, however, it poses a problem: through the mechitza, women tend to be marginalised not only within the space itself but also on a symbolic level as subjects of religious practice. Using a feminist post-structuralist discourse analysis, the paper investigates how the practice of mechitza is negotiated and what meanings and symbolism it takes on for its religiously gendered subjects. The analysis is conducted on selected articles regarding mechitza as a theme, published by the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance's Jofa Journal. The identified discourses are as follows: mechitza as a limitation and barrier, mechitza as a possibility and opportunity, and mechitza as a symbol and metaphor. The identified discourses are then transferred in the conclusion of the paper to the discussion about the implicit heteronormativity and binarity of being male and female and the possibility of a subversive appropriation of a mechitza practice. The postmodernist phase of Indian English writing is characterized by the voices of many strong women expressing a feminist exploration of alternative discourses in women's writing which are distinguished from the patriarchal framework of literary discourse. Along with Kamala Das, Meena Alexander, Imtiaz Dharkar, and Eunice de Souza, Menka Shivdasani is an active voice in contemporary Indian English poetry. Shivdasani is a prolific poet who has written poetry on various social, cultural, religious, and personal issues. Her four poetry collections include Nirvana at Ten Rupees (1990), Stet (2001), Safe House (2015), and Frazil (2018). Through her poetry, she has endeavored to deconstruct the constructed nature of women in patriarchal societies. However, in literary criticism, she has not been explored in detail; thus, Shivdasani deserves to be better known. She is truly an unsung voice in Indian English poetry because of her poetic excellence. The present paper will attempt to (re)visit Shivdasani's work with particular reference to her recent poetry collection Frazil. The themes it depicts are women's sensibilities, man-woman relationships, domesticity, myth, culture, religion, memory, loss, and the anxiety of city life. Therefore, the paper will analyze the thematic and structural aspects of her poetry, with assistance from the work of Menka Shivdasani, to move Shivdasani onto the center stage in the postmodernist phase of Indian writing in English. This paper uses the IBE Ethics at Work 2018 survey to explore employees' ethical reasoning and examine gender and age differences across 12 countries. Debates about gender and ethics have been intense since Kohlberg's theory of moral development, with feminist critiques from Gilligan and others advocating the different voice of women, while the recent arrival of Millennials in the workplace has raised new questions about age/generational differences and ethics. The findings in this study suggest that women and older workers have stronger ethical judgments in the workplace than men and younger workers. These gender and age differences, both among employees and managers, are consistent across countries. This study shows that individual characteristics are important for employees' ethical reasoning, which affects their ability to make ethical decisions and act ethically. Business ethics research should therefore take greater account of differences between (groups of) employees and their learning needs when examining the effectiveness of ethics policies and instruments, while organizations can improve employee ethical reasoning by adopting diversity-based training programs and ethical leadership. This paper provides an overview of the ways in which feminist activism has, since 2015, gained new momentum in South Korea in terms of its scope, reach, and range of agendas. Building on existing scholarly discussions of feminist movements and gender politics, I first situate the resurgence of feminism within the broader historical and socio-political context of Korean society, including the diversification of social movements generally in post-authoritarian Korea, women's precarious status, and the rise of misogyny. I then discuss the main characteristics of feminist activism on digital media and their implications, in particular, the broad range of feminist subjects, the extension of sites for and methods of struggle, and the emergence and centering of gendered issues within digital environments. Lastly, I assess the limitations of the term "young young feminist" and the diverse politics and controversies associated with contemporary feminist activism, with a focus on the critiques of raetpem (self-identified 'radical feminists'). This paper focuses on the experiences of self-identified fat women employees. Combining the works of Karen Barad and Sara Ahmed, we offer a feminist new materialist analysis of the production of difference in organizations related to size as an entanglement of bodies, discourses, organizational materials and affect. We show how our participants predominantly became shameful and a 'bad fit' within their jobs through the intra-action of their large bodies with obesity discourse and organizational materials such as chairs and workwear. Yet we also illustrate how some material-discursive entanglements offered situations where shame was circumvented, instead producing our participants as acceptable within their organizational context. Our research contributes to discussions on embodied normativities in organizations by taking these issues beyond the discursive realm and highlighting the importance of materiality and affect in 'fitting in' at work. The main goal of this special issue is to offer a room for interdisciplinary and engaged research in global environmental change (GEC), where gender plays a key role in building resilience and adaptation pathways. In this editorial paper, we explain the background setting, key questions and core approaches of gender and feminist research in vulnerability, resilience and adaptation to GEC. Highlighting the interlinkages between gender and GEC, we introduce the main contributions of the collection of 11 papers in this special issue. Nine empirical papers from around the globe allow to understand how gendered diversity in knowledge, institutions and everyday practices matters in producing barriers and options for achieving resilience and adaptive capacity in societies. Additionally, two papers contribute to the theoretical debate through a systematic review and an insight on the relevance of intersectional framings within GEC research and development programming. This paper explored the motivation for women’s engagement in social entrepreneurship activities in Nigeria. The paper examines the extent to which three factors: gender, penchant for solving social problems, and economic/financial reasons influence the desire of women to engage in social entrepreneurship. The study found that women social entrepreneurs are motivated by the desire to solve a social problem in their community. A qualitative approach was employed to obtain secondary data from 6 successful women social entrepreneurs profiled in the Ashoka.com repository. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings drawn from the analysis were discussed within the purview of African feminist theory and the empirical works of other social researchers. The result showed that women social entrepreneurs are majorly motivated by the desire to solve a social problem (rather than make a profit), which either stems from personal experience or those around them. This study recommends that understanding the intrinsic motivation behind their actions can help social activists and feminist organizations support social entrepreneurs in their work. For decades, science communication has been occupied with the discussion regarding democracy, equality, equity, inclusion, participation, and engagement in knowledge production and circulation processes and practices. As a continuously flourishing field, its scope has been expanded recently towards the intertwinement, interaction and intersection of the public presence of science, gender and sexuality. This paper aims to contribute to this ongoing discussion, addressing theoretical, methodological and ethical concerns that I faced when conducting research about the sociopolitical aspects of (dis)appearance of knowledge and the multiple communication practices in the case of the Greek feminist birth control movement in the 1970s and 1980s. More specifically, I draw attention to the following points: (1) the question of atypical archives; (2) the question of the concept of the public; and (3) the question of boundaries. Science communication can happen in unexpected places, especially when it is generated by marginalised social groups. The issues addressed indicate the theoretical and methodological awareness needed, and the related possibilities for prioritising inclusion and diversity in science communication. This focus could reveal the rich content of science communication as a social practice, offering tools for tracing invisible or lost herstories of production and circulation of knowledge from a historical perspective. The issue of sex, gender and their relationship with the human body, a complex aspect of human health, has caused, throughout history, controversies and debates, with far-reaching consequences for the life of both the individual and society as a whole. The most well-known theories about this interdisciplinary subject have been: the patriarchal theory, the feminist one, the poststructuralist, and the postmodern ones. From considering them as fixed, immutable features, to a clear biological/social distinction, the debates regarding the cultural or strictly biological determinism of sex and gender develop by including gender identity in this debate, which influences the role of gender, a historical conditioning element of family, social, cultural and political life of the individual. Whether belonging to psychiatry or just culture, the topics in discussion and the specifics of the people involved have undergone changes over time, with very concrete consequences on their personal lives. The present paper brings some observations on this subject, up to the present moment, when the changes taking place are trying to avoid the stigmatization and marginalization of people with nontraditional gender identities. In conclusion, the "sex/gender/identity/gender roles" spectrum is in a continuous interdisciplinary analysis and undergoes adaptations that reflect the individual and social evolution. It remains for the future to reveal the sustainability and adequacy in time of the current concepts and to what extent they improve the individual's quality of life and protect the social balance. Contemporary feminism manifests itself in the form of blogs, hashtags, e-magazines, and digitally planned protests through online communities that address the prevailing concerns of feminists in the digital age. This feminist approach to digital activism aims to reclaim the power of technology which is inherently hegemonic and masculinist by creating alternate spaces and modes of protest. Transnational feminism is increasingly being shaped by online discourses and the new digital space enables social movements in shaping feminist solidarity and complex netizen identities. This paper adopts discourse analysis of online contents that question the prevalent patriarchal system in South Asia and thus situate it in the changing socio-cultural context globally. Popular hashtag movements in various countries such as #YesAllWomen, #notallmen, #MeToo, #SheInspiresMe, #WomenMarch4Change, #WhyLoiter, #IWillGoOut, #AuratMarch #GirlsAtDhabas, #SafeCityIndia #PinjraTod as well as other online forums which raise the voices of women against various forms of violence will be analysed with a view to uncover their multilayered impact. These multifaceted discourses on gender-based violence have reached a wider audience across the world through social media, and academic webinars during the Covid-19 pandemic have also largely contributed to the debate. The resonance of these dialogues has transcended the local to the global level; a close study of the transnational character of these digital messages in social media aims to examine the strict demarcation between the public and the private, thus challenging the concept of gendered spaces. This paper employs a multidisciplinary approach to methodologically analyse the online resources and nature of activism in India and investigate its global relevance. Additionally, the paper will also explore how the online campaigns are establishing networks notwithstanding time and place, by interrogating and understanding the relationship between online activism and its significance in conceptualizing transnational feminism. The iconic image of Rosie the Riveter played an important role in American patriotic ideological processes during World War II. Aimed at the recruitment of women for wartime work, particularly in factories and traditionally masculine occupations, this representation of a woman in overalls and head scarf, with sleeves rolled up, showing her bicep and balled fist, declaring 'We can do it', has been a contentious point of discussion for its significance in feminist agendas since its first appearance. While building on, and playing to, the suffrage agendas of first wave feminism, the popular image of Rosie was transcended by second wave concerns about depictions of women in the workplace, such as those in films like Norma Rae (Ritt 1979), Silkwood (Nichols 1983), North Country (Caro 2005) and Made in Dagenheim (Cole 2010). But Rosie is making a comeback. The image has recently been appropriated in various ways and for various purposes - naively, ironically, satirically, as bricolage, pastiche and in sexualised portrayals - to represent contemporary women's issues and concerns, as well as arguably forming part of a backlash culture against feminism. Contemporary depictions have, for example, ranged from Hilary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai and Beyoncé. This paper considers the development and transformation of the image of Rosie the Riveter and its contradictory (re)- appropriations in various contemporary popular cultural discourses. The Iranian women's movement emerged and was sustained in an unprecedented way, although neither the movement's procedure nor the nature of the Iranian protesters' economic and social demands throughout the course of the previous ten years made its formation plausible. While unions have traditionally coordinated many Iranian protests, the present women's movement is non-union, has a national reach, and has been going strong for several months despite fierce government resistance. This study reviews the history and achievements of the women's protest movement in Iran since September 2022. In the past, women's activities have been severely constrained and suppressed by Iran's political-religious system, and feminist causes have never received the needed attention from intellectual institutions. Now, however, Iranian women have the chance to pursue their demands owing to the current confluence of women, artists, and students, along with generational changes and the advancement of new values. Additionally, the popularity of the civil resistance strategy in celebrities' and women's protests reduced violence typical in conflicts between protestors and state authorities. Further, the youth and students' intense feelings and passion led to a movement that was frank and responsive in expressing its demands. Two additional factors which led to the movement were the scattering of the leadership core which had a detrimental effect on the political system, and the individual protest behaviors of women and celebrities which boosted the possibility of individual activity and initiatives. Finally, the possibility of broadcasting the most recent news and events footage through online efforts of young people, students, and celebrities have also created maximum pressure for change. The discipline of International Relations has been a science for almost a century and has undergone considerable development and dynamism as a field of knowledge. In the aftermath of the First World War, traditional idealistic trends prevailed. Still, after the end of the Second World War, the theory of realism dominated the analysis of international relations, international politics, and its laws and mechanisms. With the inter-paradigm debate of the 1980s, a broad spectrum of theories of international relations emerged, the most significant of which are critical theories including feminism. Feminist theory has since become central to the debates about global phenomena among those who work in International Relations as a field. The paper attempts to explore whether feminist theory has been able to provide a model for the analysis and interpretation of global phenomena allowing it to occupy a place among the theories of International Relations. This paper aims to analyze the discursive strategies of Mexican digital media used to portray the actions and protagonists of the feminist protests in the context of the current administration of the Mexican federal government, known as "The 4T" ("The Fourth Transformation"). It reviews the coverage of feminist protests on emblematic dates (International Women's Day, Global Day of Action for the Legalization of Abortion, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) of five digital media during the first three years of the 4T (2019-2021) from a Critical Discourse Analysis (cda) approach. The results reveal how these strategies reconfigure the object of the protest and create two opposite hubs of significance: either to validate or to sanction women's actions in the public space. This paper grew from the imagining that Sara Ahmed and Michel Foucault, both influential scholars in my ever-developing understanding of the world, met face-to-face one ordinary day, discussed their ideas, responded to each other's queries, reflected on historical and ongoing social injustices, and shared hopeful imaginings for the future. In this imaginary account, through the form of dialogues, I compare, contrast, and examine concepts in Foucault's and Ahmed's works--specifically, the chapter "Docile Bodies" in Discipline and Punish, published in 1977, and the book Living a Feminist Life, published 40 years later in 2017.1 Following Ahmed, I use path, walls, and tables as both metaphors and material effects of disciplinary power to link theorizations from the two texts regarding the embodiment of discipline, through which white, capitalist, and heteropatriarchal norms persist. Further, I ask questions of Foucault's text about the seeming invisibility of women and disabled people in its discussion of docile bodies and disciplinary power and echo other feminist scholars in arguing that it is through the perspectives and experiences of those who have been cast out of belonging and rendered invisible that we may find the means to expose the most cemented and hidden structures and techniques of domination and to imagine forms of resistance and subversions that point to a different future. The mediator between people all over the world is language, and translation is the means by which we can cross borders. Translation can play an important role in moving towards a common livable world of coexistence and transnationality. Feminist translation theory emerged from the shared struggle women and translation experience; it criticizes the concepts that place both women and translation at the bottom of the literary and social scale. “La liberation des femmes passé par le language” is a famous saying among women of the 1970s feminist movement which indicates that women must be first liberated from language. And since translation is made of language, it is considered by feminist thought to be the best field in which they can nourish language. A critique of sexism in language goes through several stages: it corrects the vocabulary, examines the feminine symbols in language, and gives voice to gender in language since gendered language is responsible for creating misinterpretations. Hence, in this paper I am going to examine the intersection between feminism and translation. I will investigate how feminist translation can give birth to reformist recreations of an original text that is dominantly masculine by recovering the feminine that is obscured and made invisible by masculine grammar. In addition, I will also discuss how translation gives another life to the original text by using different strategies to make gender visible in the text’s language so that women can be heard. India, a mosaic of ethnic, religious, linguistic, and social factions, exhibits unity in diversity. As a result, Indian women come from diverse cultures, terrains, religions, and classes. They perform diverse social roles and have varied lived experiences, which augment assorted issues. Consequently, a review of the literature on Indian feminism highlights its complicacy. Mukhopadhyay (2016) explains that Indian feminism, which was primarily initiated by men (Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Jyotirao Phule, and others) mainly focussed on the abolition of evil practices like Sati, Purdah, polygamy, child marriage, illiteracy, and the rest. The concept of “Intersectionality” and intersectional oppression was neither known nor understood hence not represented by Indian feminists. In such a situation, adhering to the maxim ‘Personal is Political,’ it became the duty of the women, whose gender intersects with caste to represent their unique lived experiences. This paper attempts to gain insight into the world of Dalit women through the exploration of their select writings. P. Sivakami’s The Grip of Change, Bama’s Sangati, and Meena Kandaswami’s poetry anthology Touch are used as literary study tools. The study demonstrates how the narratives of Dalit women provide a unique concept of “Indian intersectionality,” where their social and political identities combine to create different modes of discrimination and disadvantage making them vulnerable to violence. Cleopatra is one of the most remarkable women that have survived through generations of human history, which has been more or less man-history. A monarch, who governed over her people for around twenty years, is considered, through historical anecdotes, no more than a royal courtesan who managed to save her career through her association with great generals of Roman empire. Following suit, the literary artists have not lagged behind; they also portray her as a seductress and a heroine of a love tragedy, the onus of which lay in her fatal flaw of inconsistency in consistent coquetry. However, recent researches reveal that Cleopatra was not a woman of great feminine charm and multifarious factors contributed to her success. The present paper attempts an analysis of Cleopatra as depicted in William Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra (1606) through the feminist lens of counter-historical perspective. Gender differences and hierarchical relations, cultural values and expected gender behaviours: all these elements are reflected into languages in terms of syntax, lexicon and contexts of use. At the same time, a language is the privileged territory for its reference culture. The feminist perspective has given relevant contribution to the creation of the feminist gender discourse by offering values and expressions designed to eradicate the established androcentric language, and by defining key words and concepts: the Spanish empoderamiento (empowerment), techo de cristal (glass ceiling), inequidad de género (gender inequality) are some of the terms which were born with the feminist stance and became part of a discourse on gender spread through the written medium, in particular press. As a specific literary genre, journalism has indeed welcomed the features of the feminist discourse, providing a powerful communicative tool for the feminist standpoint. Exponential use of ICT has brought colossal opportunities as well as challenges to the present society. In spite of increasing women's involvement in Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), gender inequality has yet remained critical across the nations and globe. The uneven access and skills to technology has intensified the degree of digital divide specially for the women. Further the multifaced attribute of ICT and its relation with women is changing discourses among the feminist scholars. This is a conceptual paper which focuses on the deliberations of different feminists based on optimistic and pessimistic perspectives. Some studies show that the gender digital divide is getting intense while some have reported of alleviating gaps with more involvement of women. The concept of digital divide is beyond the access and includes various dimensions such as perception, usage, motivation, participation and skills. The paper deals with the tension between utopian and dystopian views on technology benefits. Through literature review this conceptual paper examines and discusses the diverse standpoints of feminist scholars from west and east which buzzes to redefine the relationship of gender with technology. It recommends that empowerment of women in technological domain is equally important as social, economic and political. Further women should be motivated from within to embrace ICT and get benefitted from its prospects. Resisting modern technology in the digital era would further widen the digital gap and thus make difficult to observe gender equality. This paper focuses on the way females are perceived by the society in our contemporary world in selected short stories of the Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Adichie in her works portrayed the underestimating social norms that misleadingly specify the gender roles for both males and females in the Nigerian community and the negative consequences the females have to endure in order to keep the intact image desired by such biased societies. Those gender regulations and the role of the social transformational goals will be utilized in unfolding gender problems in the light of Judith Butler's book Undoing Gender in Adichie's stories Imitations and The Arrangers of Marriage. Adichie sheds light on the dehumanizing treatment of females in such biased societies and the role of the females themselves in challenging those norms by taking serious steps toward transforming them in a way that serves both genders equally. This study will highlight Adichie's objective in building a positive society by raising a new generation of feminists either males or females in the light of her nonfictional work We Should All Be Feminists (2014). The role of agency in women's empowerment, whether individual or collective, has long been at the center of feminist discourse. Although, highly context dependent, studies on agency are less contextualized. Based on mixed methods, we generated in-depth understandings of what constitutes agency in livestock-based institutions, and associated contextual factors across three regions. Agency, the ability to make effective participation, conceptualization is based on four main dimensions, in turn associated with key agency enabling resources. The agency-enabling resources such as years of schooling, land holding, sheep flock size, number of women in the leadership committee, along with location and distance to extension services variables were associated with the ability to effectively participate. Study participants are aware of the influence of normative environment but lack the power to challenge it. Neoclassical economics has become the predominant school of economic thought, influencing scholarship on management, organizations, and business ethics. However, many feminist economists challenge the individualist and positivist foundations of neoclassical economic epistemology, arguing instead that purportedly gender-neutral and value-free methods routinely and systematically leave out and undervalue women. Extending this proposition, this article introduces the epistemic foundations of feminist economics and illustrates how they can produce novel insights relevant for business ethics. In particular, by examining economic phenomena from the point of view of the people they affect, feminist economic epistemology is able to elucidate the ways in which power asymmetries and gender norms that constitute the social world can be reflected in business practices. I apply this methodological insight to three case studies of global supply chains to challenge the neoclassical assertion that including women in labor markets necessarily catalyzes gender equality. This paper takes a social constructionist perspective to explain how dominant constructions of 'sex' and 'gender' have been built upon deeply embedded substructure of gender differences and the expected roles of women in the public sphere and in private domain in nearly all societies. The paper aims at exploring the argument that sex, like gender, is a socially constructed concept. It examines the construction of sex and gender from various perspectives including feminist perspectives and those opposing arguments from the biological determinist point of view. Next, the paper discusses an aspect of the normative construction of sex/gender as proposed by the post-structuralist school of thought and finally examines some cultural implications of the conventional understanding of sex. The paper concludes that sex is strongly influenced by social factors, ideas and other sociocultural contexts including the norms, values and beliefs embedded in different societies, along with some traditional practices. There is often a tendency to focus on one form of oppression and pay less attention to, or leave others out, despite the fact that a vast body of research shows that all forms of oppression are interconnected. This paper aims to counter this tendency that has been circulated in the mainstream media as well as in institutions such as schools. Specifically, drawing on the scholarly work of feminist, socio-cultural, and critical race theorists, this paper critically examines the effects of intersectional oppression on people, particularly those who have been pushed to the margins because of their targeted social identities, and proposes alternative ways to combat these forms of oppression.
