The current economic situation in the uropean Union is critical due to the financial crisis and to sovereign debt. There are a few countries at risk of default, but the most immediate risk is posed by Greece and Italy. The Euro currency is threatened and the EU must take correct measures to prevent it from disappearing. There are quite a few approaches that governments take and each of them has risks and benefits. This paper presents the various suggestions of combinations of measures possible. The matter analyzed being very complex, and trying to simplify it, the paper presents a series of approaches possible in solving the problems that are afflicting the banking system and the EU countries. Based on an analysis of the neoliberal construction of European monetary integration, the Greek economic crisis and the Hayekian-style austerity policies being used to deal with it are analyzed. After theoretically characterizing these policies, the paper analyzes how their generalization in Europe is helping to deepen the European crisis and jeopardizing the recovery of the world economy. Nevertheless, the reason of the crisis is the loss of monetary sovereignty of every country and the financing of the state is sustained across the financial bank and not bank investors. This contribution analyses some data from Eurobarometer 83, spring 2015, especially to draw a map of Fears. The European Union is a divided space and one of the main consequences of the budget (financial) crisis of Greece, followed by the crisis caused by the arrival of thousands of immigrants is an enhanced communication difficulty between the Western and Eastern parts of the EU But all citizens have some new rights with the European Citizenship, which are additional. One of the main issues for the future could be to change the fundamental basis of the Union, thus trying to organize a new articulation between local and supranational, with another role for States, for example to change the organisation of European elections, and to pursue the connection of public spaces with mobility. EUROPEAN Sovereign Debt Crisis, 2009-2018 ,FINANCIAL crises ,IMMIGRATION policy ,ECONOMIC conditions in Greece ,TWENTY-first century - Abstract
The euro crisis and a new debate about immigration in Europe have undermined support for the EU while the unsolved Greek debt problems as well as the ECB's quantitative easing policy have raised new crucial policy issues. It is necessary to identify the key issues of Eurozone stabilization and to clarify the economic benefits from monetary integration. As regards the economic welfare analysis of the euro, the new model presented shows the benefits of the euro's reserve currency position, namely in the framework of a neoclassical growth model with seigniorage based on international reserve holdings. Discounted benefits are about 10,000 € per capita in a stable Euro area. Thus the benefits are bigger than often considered, at the same time one may raise the question of whether the existing institutional setting of the Eurozone is sufficient for achieving long-term stability and prosperity. As regards the envisaged third rescue package for Greece it is emphasized that a haircut of public creditors along with adoption of a Greek capital levy plus privatization efforts are required to achieve debt sustainability and growth. The traditional interpretation of subsidiarity in the EU is found to be misleading and the vertical division of politics is destabilizing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Republic of Macedonia has to a large extent adapted its legislation to EU requirements. In the framework of the High Level Accession Dialogue, the country continues further activities in that regard in order to meet the political and economic criteria of EU accession. Apart from respecting the Copenhagen criteria, Macedonia's goodneighbourly relations with all the EU Member States have proved an important factor, hence the necessary strengthening of its regional cooperationand bilateral relations with Greece and Bulgaria. EUROPEAN Sovereign Debt Crisis, 2009-2018 ,PUBLIC debts ,GREECE economic policy, 1974- ,STATE bankruptcy ,FOREIGN loans ,EUROPEAN Union country economic integration ,EUROZONE - Abstract
The article looks at the debt crisis in Greece and analyzes the role it played as a causal factor in the European sovereign debt crisis beginning in 2009. The author notes that the roots of Greece's debt problem lie earlier in the 2000s, when primarily German and French banks provided a high volume of low-interest loans to the country, counting on their own governments' implicit loan guarantees. He argues that because eurozone leaders took many months to respond effectively to a possible Greek default, the contagion effect of Greece's situation became far worse than it would have been. Also discussed are possible policies and mechanisms to strengthen eurozone economic governance, including more centralized control over countries' budgets.

This article examines the objectives, the benefits and the difficulties in the implementation of school partnerships under the optional European educational programme Comenius in the context of a policy promoting the European Dimension in the education systems of Europe and particularly in Greek education. A sample of Greek teachers having run such a partnership project and promoters of the programme were interviewed in depth for the purpose of this study. It was argued that through the European Dimension, the Community’s objective is to promote a common attitude of European countries towards topics of social interest through the incorporation of similar features into the curricula of different education systems across Europe. In this context, all the interviewees underlined that by participating in Comenius, pupils and teachers had the opportunity to meet people from different European countries and education systems, learned foreign languages and made use of new technologies. However, the Greek respondents described difficulties in the implementation of Comenius related to language problems, lack of technical infrastructure, limited prior experience and increased central control. Correspondingly, they suggested that more emphasis could be placed on the teaching of foreign languages in Greek schools and teacher training institutions, on the use of efficient technical means of communication and on the effective guidance of the partnership projects so that Greek education can respond to the European challenge.
