Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at a conference on the establishment and replenishment of thymic epithelium and the persistence of epithelial progenitor cells into adult life is presented. One researcher presented a data showing that efficient importation of T cell progenitors into the adult thymus requires P-selectin—P-selecting ligand-1 interaction. Another researcher suggested that adult mesenchyme cannot induce proliferation in thymic epithelium.
