This work is one of monetary Keynesianism, known as the Berlin School. The school proposes a monetary theory of production which links the real sector to the monetary sector and on this bases offers an explanation of underdevelopment and dependence. Capitalist relationships are seen as the quest for monetary surpluses over money investments; and money not only rules the decisions of economic agents but also govern contractual relations. Each currency is a system of relationships, a "monetary space". Therefore, the theory of international re1ations should include a market whichdoes not exist in models of closed economies the currency market and the specific function of money in this context, i.e. the "external function". World markets have establish a hierarchy of currencies, some strong, others weak. The former enable their national interests to be imposed to the countries with weak currencies and these are relegated to a situation of indebtedness to the strong currencies, dependence and underdevelopment from which very few canescape. Abstract: Abatacept plus calcineurin inhibitors/methotrexate (CNI/MTX) is the first US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved regimen for acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) prophylaxis during unrelated-donor hematopoietic cell transplantation (URD-HCT). Using Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research data, we investigated its impact in patients receiving 7/8 HLA-mismatched unrelated donor (MMUD) or 8/8 HLA-matched unrelated donor (MUD) URD-HCT between 2011 and 2018. Primary outcomes included day-180, 1-year, and 2-year overall survival (OS) and relapse-free survival (RFS) for abatacept + CNI/MTX vs CNI/MTX, CNI/MTX + antithymocyte globulin (ATG), and posttransplant cyclophosphamide-based prophylaxis (PT-Cy). For 7/8 MMUDs, day-180 OS (primary end point supporting FDA approval) was significantly higher for abatacept + CNI/MTX vs CNI/MTX (98% vs 75%; P = .0028). Two-year RFS was significantly higher for abatacept + CNI/MTX vs CNI/MTX (74% vs 49%; P = .0098) and CNI/MTX + ATG (77% vs 35%; P = .0002), and similar vs PT-Cy (72% vs 56%; P = .1058). For 8/8 MUDs, 2-year RFS for abatacept + CNI/MTX was numerically higher vs CNI/MTX (63% vs 52%; P = .1497), with an improved hazard ratio (HR) of 0.46 (0.25-0.86), and vs CNI/MTX + ATG (66% vs 55%; P = .1193; HR, 0.39 [0.21-0.73]), and was similar vs PT-Cy (68% vs 57%; P = .2356; HR, 0.54 [0.26-1.11]). For 7/8 MMUD and 8/8 MUD recipients, abatacept + CNI/MTX prophylaxis improved survival outcomes vs CNI/MTX and CNI/MTX + ATG; outcomes were similar to PT-Cy-based regimens. Functionalizing nucleic acids using DNA polymerases is essential in biophysical and biotechnology applications. This study focuses on understanding how DNA polymerases recognize and incorporate nucleotides with diverse chemical modifications, aiming to develop advanced nucleotide probes. We present the crystal structures of ternary complexes of Thermus aquaticus DNA polymerase (KlenTaq) with C5-heterocycle-modified environment-sensitive 2'-deoxyuridine-5'-triphosphate (dUTP) probes. These nucleotides include SedUTP, BFdUTP and FBFdUTP, which bear selenophene, benzofuran and fluorobenzofuran, respectively, at the C5 position of uracil, and exhibit high conformational sensitivity. SedUTP and FBFdUTP serve as dual-app probes, combining a fluorophore with X-ray anomalous scattering Se or 19F NMR labels. Our study reveals that the size of the heterocycle influences how DNA polymerase families A and B incorporate these modified nucleotides during single nucleotide incorporation and primer extension reactions. Remarkably, FBFdUTP's responsiveness enabled real-time monitoring of the binary complex formation and polymerase activity through fluorescence and 19F NMR. Comparative analysis of incorporation profiles, fluorescence, 19F NMR data, and crystal structures of ternary complexes highlights the enzyme's plasticity. Aims: Reduction of atrial fibrillation (AF) burden is the preferred outcome measure over categorical AF rhythm recurrence after AF ablation. In this sub-analysis of the TeleCheck-AF project, we tested the feasibility of smartphone app-based approximation of time spent with AF and/or symptoms., Methods and Results: Patients scheduled for at least one teleconsultation during the 12-month follow-up after AF ablation were instructed to use a smartphone photoplethysmography-based application for simultaneous symptom and rhythm monitoring three times daily for 1 week. Proxies of time spent with AF and/or symptoms (% recordings, load, and % days), temporal aggregation of AF and/or symptoms (density), and symptom-rhythm correlation (SRC) were assessed. In total, 484 patients (60% male, 62 ± 9.9 years) were included. Adherence, motivation, and patient satisfaction were high. %AF recordings, AF load, and %AF days (rs = 0.88-0.95) and %symptom recordings, symptom load, and %symptom days (rs = 0.95-0.98) showed positive correlations. The SRC correlated negatively with time spent with symptoms (rs = -0.65-0.90) and with time spent with AF (rs = -0.31-0.34). In patients with paroxysmal AF before ablation and AF during the monitoring period, 87% (n = 39/44) had a low-density score <50% ('paroxysmal AF pattern') while 5% (n = 2/44) had a high-density score >90% ('persistent AF pattern'). Recent developments of eco-evolutionary models have shown that evolving feedbacks between behavioral strategies and the environment of game interactions, leading to changes in the underlying payoff matrix, can impact the underlying population dynamics in various manners. We propose and analyze an eco-evolutionary game dynamics model on a network with two communities such that players interact with other players in the same community and those in the opposite community at different rates. In our model, we consider two-person matrix games with pairwise interactions occurring on individual edges and assume that the environmental state depends on edges rather than on nodes or being globally shared in the population. We analytically determine the equilibria and their stability under a symmetric population structure assumption, and we also numerically study the replicator dynamics of the general model. The model shows rich dynamical behavior, such as multiple transcritical bifurcations, multistability, and anti-synchronous oscillations. The characterization of atrial fibrillation (AF) according to current guidelines categorically refers to the differentiation between paroxysmal, persistent, and permanent AF. A more precise characterization of AF, including the evaluation of AF burden, is playing an increasingly significant role in both scientific research and clinical practice. Digital devices, especially those with the capability of passive (semi-)continuous recording, can contribute to a more accurate quantification of AF burden. Particularly in patients with an already established diagnosis of AF, the evaluation of AF burden can be used to monitor the success of antiarrhythmic therapy including antiarrhythmic drugs or pulmonary vein isolation. However, important questions remain unanswered: In addition to a uniform, evidence-based definition of AF burden, clinically relevant cut-offs for AF burden and resulting therapeutic consequences (e.g., subclinical AF) need to be elaborated. Chronic graft-versus-host-disease (cGVHD) is divided into two subtypes: classic (absence of acute GVHD features) and overlap cGVHD ('ocGVHD'), in which both chronic and acute GVHD clinical features are present simultaneously. While worse outcomes with ocGVHD have been reported, there are few recent analyses. We performed a secondary analysis of data from the ABA2 trial (N = 185), in which detailed GVHD data were collected prospectively and systematically adjudicated. Analyses included cumulative incidence of classic versus ocGVHD, their specific organ manifestations, global disease severity scores, non-relapse mortality (NRM), disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in these two cGVHD subtypes. Of 92 patients who developed cGVHD, 35 were classified as ocGVHD. The 1-year cumulative incidence, organ involvement, and global severity of classic and ocGVHD were similar between ABA2 patients receiving CNI/MTX+placebo and CNI/MTX+abatacept; thus, cohorts were combined for ocGVHD evaluation. This analysis identified ocGVHD as having significantly higher severity at presentation and at maximum global severity compared to classic cGVHD. OS and DFS were significantly lower for ocGVHD versus classic cGVHD. OcGVHD is associated with increased cGVHD severity scores, and is associated with decreased OS and DFS compared to classic cGVHD, underscoring the high risks with this cGVHD subtype., (© 2024. Objective: This article presents the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)'s approach to automation for public health surveillance using digital quality measures (dQMs) via an open-source tool (NHSNLink) and piloting of this approach using real-world data in a newly established collaborative program (NHSNCoLab). The approach leverages Health Level Seven Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) application programming interfaces to improve data collection and reporting for public health and patient safety beginning with common, clinically significant, and preventable patient harms, such as medication-related hypoglycemia, healthcare facility-onset Clostridioides difficile infection, and healthcare-associated venous thromboembolism., Conclusions: The NHSN's FHIR dQMs hold the promise of minimizing the burden of reporting, improving accuracy, quality, and validity of data collected by NHSN, and increasing speed and efficiency of public health surveillance., (Published by Oxford University Press on behalf of the American Medical Informatics Association 2024.)

Although unrelated-donor (URD) hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is associated with many toxicities, a detailed analysis of adverse events, as defined by the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE), has not previously been curated. This represents a major unmet need, especially as it relates to assessing the safety of novel agents. We analyzed a detailed AE database from the "ABA2" randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of abatacept for acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) prevention, for which the FDA mandated a detailed AE assessment through Day +180, and weekly neutrophil and platelet counts through Day +100. These were analyzed for their relationship to key transplant outcomes, with a major focus on the impact of aGVHD on the development/severity of AEs. A total of 2102 AEs and 1816 neutrophil/platelet counts were analyzed from 142 8/8-HLA-matched URD HCT recipients on ABA2 (placebo cohort, n = 69, abatacept cohort, n = 73). This analysis resulted in 2 major observations. (1) Among graft source, conditioning intensity, age, and Grade 2 to 4 aGVHD, only aGVHD impacted Grade 3 to 5 AE acquisition after the first month post-transplant. (2) The development of Grade 3 to 4 aGVHD was associated with thrombocytopenia. We have created a detailed resource for the transplant community by which to contextualize clinical toxicities after transplant. It has identified aGVHD as a major driver of post-HCT Grade 3 to 5 AEs, and underscored a link between aGVHD and thrombocytopenia. This establishes a critical safety framework upon which the impact of novel post-transplant aGVHD therapeutics should be evaluated. Aim: To evaluate changes in healthcare utilisation and comprehensive packages of care activities and procedures (referred in the Netherlands to as 'diagnose-behandelcombinatie (DBC) care products) during the implementation of the TeleCheck-AF approach (teleconsultation supported by app-based heart rate/rhythm monitoring) in a Dutch atrial fibrillation (AF) clinic., Methods and Results: In the Maastricht University Medical Centre+ AF Clinic, data on healthcare utilisation and DBC care products for patients consulted by both a conventional approach in 2019 and the TeleCheck-AF approach in 2020 were analysed. A patient experience survey was performed. Thirty-seven patients (median age 68 years; 40% women) were analysed. With the conventional approach, 35 face-to-face consultations and 0 teleconsultations were conducted. After the implementation of TeleCheck-AF, the number of face-to-face consultations dropped by 80% (p < 0.001) and teleconsultations increased to 45 (p < 0.001). While 42 electrocardiograms (ECGs) and 25 Holter ECGs or echocardiograms were recorded when using the conventional approach, the number of ECGs decreased by 71% (p < 0.001) and Holter ECGs or echocardiograms by 72% (p < 0.001) with the TeleCheck-AF approach. The emergency department patient presentations showed no statistically significant change (p = 0.33). Overall, 57% of medium-weight DBC care products were changed to light-weight ones during implementation of the TeleCheck-AF approach. Patient satisfaction with the TeleCheck-AF approach was high., Conclusion: The implementation of TeleCheck-AF led to a change in healthcare utilisation, a change from medium-weight to light-weight DBC care products and a reduction in patient burden. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is highly prevalent with a lifetime risk of about 1 in 3-5 individuals after the age of 45 years. Between 2010 and 2019, the global prevalence of AF has risen markedly from 33.5 million to 59 million individuals living with AF. Early detection of AF and implementation of appropriate treatment could reduce the frequency of complications associated with AF. International AF management guidelines recommend opportunistic and systematic screening for AF, but additional data are needed. Digital approaches and pathways have been proposed for early detection and for the transition to early AF management. Mobile health (mHealth) devices provide an opportunity for digital screening and should be part of novel models of care delivery based on integrated AF care pathways. For a broad implementation of mHealth-based, integrated care for patients with chronic diseases as AF, further high quality evidence is necessary. In this review, we present an overview of the present data on epidemiology, screening techniques, and the contribution of digital health solutions to the integrated management of AF. Objectives: To evaluate the incidence of a candidate definition of healthcare facility-onset, treated Clostridioides difficile (CD) infection (cHT-CDI) and to identify variables and best model fit of a risk-adjusted cHT-CDI metric using extractable electronic heath data., Methods: We analyzed 9,134,276 admissions from 265 hospitals during 2015-2020. The cHT-CDI events were defined based on the first positive laboratory final identification of CD after day 3 of hospitalization, accompanied by use of a CD drug. The generalized linear model method via negative binomial regression was used to identify predictors. Standardized infection ratios (SIRs) were calculated based on 2 risk-adjusted models: a simple model using descriptive variables and a complex model using descriptive variables and CD testing practices. The performance of each model was compared against cHT-CDI unadjusted rates., Results: The median rate of cHT-CDI events per 100 admissions was 0.134 (interquartile range, 0.023-0.243). Hospital variables associated with cHT-CDI included the following: higher community-onset CDI (CO-CDI) prevalence; highest-quartile length of stay; bed size; percentage of male patients; teaching hospitals; increased CD testing intensity; and CD testing prevalence. The complex model demonstrated better model performance and identified the most influential predictors: hospital-onset testing intensity and prevalence, CO-CDI rate, and community-onset testing intensity (negative correlation). Moreover, 78% of the hospitals ranked in the highest quartile based on raw rate shifted to lower percentiles when we applied the SIR from the complex model., Conclusions: Hospital descriptors, aggregate patient characteristics, CO-CDI burden, and clinical testing practices significantly influence incidence of cHT-CDI. Benchmarking a cHT-CDI metric is feasible and should include facility and clinical variables.

Aim: Social media (SoMe) are emerging as important tools for research dissemination. Twitter/X promotion has been shown to increase citation rates in well-established journals. We aimed to test the effect of a SoMe promotion strategy on the Mendeley reader counts, the Altmetric Attention Score and the number of citations in an upcoming open-access journal., Methods: The #TweetTheJournal study is a randomized, controlled study. Articles published in seven subsequent issues of the International Journal of Cardiology Heart & Vasculature (April 2021-April 2022) were randomized to a Twitter/X promotion arm (articles were posted four times) and to a control arm (without active posting). Articles with accompanied editorials were excluded. Primary endpoint of the study was Mendeley reader count, secondary endpoints were Altmetric Attention Score and number of citations. Follow-up was one year., Results: SoMe promotion of articles showed no statistically significant difference in Mendeley reader counts or number of citations at one year follow up. SoMe promotion resulted in a statistically significant higher Altmetric Attention Score in the intervention compared to the control group (RR 1.604, 95 % CI 1.024-2.511, p = 0.039). Aims: TeleCheck-AF is a novel remote on-demand mobile health infrastructure around teleconsultations for patients with atrial fibrillation. Social media (SoMe) communication on Twitter contributed to the dissemination of this healthcare innovation by using the hashtag #TeleCheckAF. This study aims to analyse the SoMe network behind #TeleCheckAF and determine the key opinion leaders., Methods and Results: Publicly available data on actors and interactions around the hashtag #TeleCheckAF were collected by web scraping from the platform Twitter. With tools based on social network analysis, a social network was created, different communities were identified, and key opinion leaders were determined by their centrality in the network. The SoMe network consisted of 413 086 accounts with 636 502 ties in 22 different communities. A total of 287 accounts that diffused information and/or used the TeleCheck-AF infrastructure were analysed in depth. Those accounts involved users from >15 different countries and multidisciplinary professions. Further, 20 opinion leaders were identified, including four official accounts of societies and associated journals among key opinion leaders. Peaks in #TeleCheckAF tweets were seen after (virtual) conferences and other activities involving national and international cardiology societies. Social network analysis of the TeleCheck-AF Twitter hashtag revealed a wide, multidisciplinary potential reach for the diffusion of a healthcare innovation., Conclusion: Official society SoMe accounts can amplify the dissemination of research findings by featuring abstract presentations during conferences and published manuscripts. In the ABA2 study, the T-cell costimulation blockade agent, abatacept, was safe and effective in preventing acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) after unrelated-donor hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT), leading to US Food and Drug Administration approval. Here, we performed a determination of abatacept pharmacokinetics (PK), which enabled an examination of how abatacept exposure-response relationships affected clinical outcomes. We performed a population PK analysis of IV abatacept using nonlinear mixed-effect modeling and assessed the association between abatacept exposure and key transplant outcomes. We tested the association between the trough after dose 1 (Ctrough&#95;1) and grade (GR) 2 or 4 aGVHD (GR2-4 aGVHD) through day +100. An optimal Ctrough&#95;1 threshold was identified via recursive partitioning and classification tree analysis. This demonstrated that abatacept PK was characterized by a 2-compartment model with first-order elimination. The ABA2 dosing regimen was based on previous work targeting a steady-state abatacept trough of 10 μg/mL. However, a higher Ctrough&#95;1 (≥39 μg/mL, attained in ∼60% of patients on ABA2) was associated with a favorable GR2-4 aGVHD risk (hazard ratio, 0.35; 95% confidence interval, 0.19-0.65; P < .001), with a Ctrough&#95;1 <39 μg/mL associated with GR2-4 aGVHD risk indistinguishable from placebo (P = .37). Importantly, no significant association was found between Ctrough&#95;1 and key safety indicators, including relapse, and cytomegalovirus or Epstein-Barr virus viremia. These data demonstrate that a higher abatacept Ctrough&#95;1 (≥39 μg/mL) was associated with a favorable GR2-4 aGVHD risk, without any observed exposure-toxicity relationships. The purpose of this RESNA Position Paper is to provide evidence from the literature and share typical clinical applications supporting the application of ultralight manual wheelchairs (ULWCs) to assist practitioners in decision-making and justification of wheelchair recommendations.

Background: Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is prevalent in up to 50% of patients referred for atrial fibrillation (AF) catheter ablation (CA). Currently, it remains unclear how to improve pre-selection for SDB screening in patients with AF., Aim: We aimed to (1) assess the accuracy of the STOP-Bang screening questionnaire for detection of SDB within an AF population referred for CA; (2) derive a refined, AF-specific SDB score to improve pre-selection., Methods: Consecutive AF patients referred for CA without a history of SDB and/or SDB screening were included. Patients were digitally referred to the previously implemented Virtual-SAFARI SDB screening and management pathway including a home sleep test. An apnoea-hypopnoea index (AHI) of  ≥ 15 was interpreted as moderate-to-severe SDB. Logistic regression analysis was used to assess characteristics associated with moderate-to-severe SDB to refine pre-selection for SDB screening., Results: Of 206 included patients, 51% were diagnosed with moderate-to-severe SDB. The STOP-Bang questionnaire performed poorly in detecting SDB, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) of 0.647 (95% Confidence-Interval (CI) 0.573-0.721). AF-specific refinement resulted in the BOSS-GAP score. Therein, BMI with cut-off point ≥ 27 kg/m 2  and previous stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA) were added, while tiredness and neck circumference were removed. The BOSS-GAP score performed better with an AUROC of 0.738 (95% CI 0.672-0.805) in the overall population., Conclusion: AF-specific refinement of the STOP-Bang questionnaire moderately improved detection of SDB in AF patients referred for CA. Aims: The aim of this TeleCheck-AF sub-analysis was to evaluate motivation and adherence to on-demand heart rate/rhythm monitoring app in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF)., Methods and Results: Patients were instructed to perform 60 s app-based heart rate/rhythm recordings 3 times daily and in case of symptoms for 7 consecutive days prior to teleconsultation. Motivation was defined as number of days in which the expected number of measurements (≥3/day) were performed per number of days over the entire prescription period. Adherence was defined as number of performed measurements per number of expected measurements over the entire prescription period.Data from 990 consecutive patients with diagnosed AF [median age 64 (57-71) years, 39% female] from 10 centres were analyzed. Patients with both optimal motivation (100%) and adherence (≥100%) constituted 28% of the study population and had a lower percentage of recordings in sinus rhythm [90 (53-100%) vs. 100 (64-100%), P < 0.001] compared with others. Older age and absence of diabetes were predictors of both optimal motivation and adherence [odds ratio (OR) 1.02, 95% coincidence interval (95% CI): 1.01-1.04, P < 0.001 and OR: 0.49, 95% CI: 0.28-0.86, P = 0.013, respectively]. Patients with 100% motivation also had ≥100% adherence. Independent predictors for optimal adherence alone were older age (OR: 1.02, 95% CI: 1.00-1.04, P = 0.014), female sex (OR: 1.70, 95% CI: 1.29-2.23, P < 0.001), previous AF ablation (OR: 1.35, 95% CI: 1.03-1.07, P = 0.028)., Conclusion: In the TeleCheck-AF project, more than one-fourth of patients had optimal motivation and adherence to app-based heart rate/rhythm monitoring. Aims: Evaluation of (i) the effects of a virtual reality (VR) preprocedural patient education video on information provision, procedure-related knowledge, satisfaction, and the level of worries in patients planned for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation and (ii) the feasibility of a disposable cardboard VR viewer for home use in this setting., Methods and Results: In this prospective observational cohort study, patients were alternatively assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the control or VR group. Controls received standard preprocedural information. VR group received standard information and a VR video (via in-hospital VR headset and disposable cardboard). The Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) together with additional questions concerning procedural experience and satisfaction was completed pre- and post-ablation. Of 134 patients [38.1% female, aged 66 (58-72) years] included, 49.2% were assigned to the control and 50.7% to the VR group. The number of patients that worried about the ablation procedure was lower in VR than in control patients (19.1% vs. 40.9%, P = 0.006). More VR females than males had worries about the procedure (34.8% vs. 11.1%, P = 0.026). The number of VR patients that were satisfied with the preprocedural information provision was higher post-ablation than pre-ablation (83.3% vs. 60.4%, P = 0.007). In total, 59.4% reported that the disposable cardboard was easy to use and led to a discussion with relatives in 68.8%., Conclusion: In patients scheduled for AF ablation, a VR preprocedural educational video led to better information provision and procedure-related knowledge, higher satisfaction, and less worries regarding the procedure. Antiarrhythmic drugs are important for the noninvasive rhythm control therapy of heart rhythm disorders. Antiarrhythmic drugs, which can be categorized into subgroups based on their different effects on ion channels, are clinically used for various types of arrhythmias. Knowledge about these specific electrophysiological effects contributes to a better understanding in order to select the correct drug for each specific arrhythmia. This review summarizes mechanisms, indications, contraindications, and side effects of the different antiarrhythmic drugs and, thus, supports their adequate use in daily clinical routine., (© 2023. Reverse transcriptases are DNA polymerases that can use RNA as a template for DNA synthesis. They thus catalyze the reverse of transcription. Although discovered in 1970, reverse transcriptases are still of great interest and are constantly being further developed for numerous modern research approaches. They are frequently used in biotechnological and molecular diagnostic applications. Background: The assessment of symptom-rhythm correlation (SRC) in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) is challenging. Therefore, we performed a novel mobile app-based approach to assess SRC in persistent AF., Methods: Consecutive persistent AF patients planned for electrical cardioversion (ECV) used a mobile app to record a 60-s photoplethysmogram (PPG) and report symptoms once daily and in case of symptoms for four weeks prior and three weeks after ECV. Within each patient, SRC was quantified by the SRC-index defined as the sum of symptomatic AF recordings and asymptomatic non-AF recordings divided by the sum of all recordings., Results: Of 88 patients (33% women, age 68 ± 9 years) included, 78% reported any symptoms during recordings. The overall SRC-index was 0.61 (0.44-0.79). The study population was divided into SRC-index tertiles: low (<0.47), medium (0.47-0.73) and high (≥0.73). Patients within the low (vs high) SRC-index tertile had more often heart failure and diabetes mellitus (both 24.1% vs 6.9%). Extrasystoles occurred in 19% of all symptomatic non-AF PPG recordings. Within each patient, PPG recordings with the highest (vs lowest) tertile of pulse rates conferred an increased risk for symptomatic AF recordings (odds ratio [OR] 1.26, 95% coincidence interval [CI] 1.04-1.52) and symptomatic non-AF recordings (OR 2.93, 95% CI 2.16-3.97). Pulse variability was not associated with reported symptoms., Conclusions: In patients with persistent AF, SRC is relatively low. Pulse rate is the main determinant of reported symptoms.
