A phosphine, base and additive free cross-coupling of arylboronic acid is reported via C–O bond cleavage of acetic anhydride using a switchable ferrocene functionalized n-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium complex. Ferrocene functionalized 2‐phenylpyridine iridium(III) pentamethylcyclopentadienyl complex is synthesized and probed for oxygen evolution from water. The excellent activity of this system has been rationalized by proposing a Fe(III)/Ir(IV) transient intermediate where bimetallic redox synergism between the Fe and Ir centres possibly provide an alternative pathway rather than a conventional Ir(V) based cycle. Background: Women are at greater risk for depressive disorders than men. They are also known to be genetically and biologically vulnerable. Indian women mostly express their mental stress as somatic complaints and many other psychosocial factors influence as well as maintain the depressive symptoms. The psychosocial needs of women are often projected through the presentation of their depressive symptoms. Aim: The present study aimed to explore the psychosocial problems of married women diagnosed with depressive disorder. Methods: The study used a qualitative approach with exploratory research design. This study was carried out in the outpatient department of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health in Tezpur (Assam). Purposive sampling was used and eight women were selected for the study. In-depth interviews were conducted to explore the psychosocial stressors, experiences, and illness narratives (idioms of distress) of these women. Among eight women who consented to participate in the study, six completed the study. Results: The salient findings of this study are that the women diagnosed with mild to moderate depressive disorders conveyed their mental health issues through various physical and emotional problems. Women expressed their problems primarily through somatic complaints, typically a variety of aches in different body parts, lethargy, excessive thinking, and decreased enthusiasm. Psychosocial factors centered around various social contexts and interpersonal issues, economic difficulties, marital difficulties and housing problems. Conclusion: The women's narratives focuses predominantly on the socioeconomic and interpersonal difficulties as the underlying cause of their distressing symptoms is projective of psychosocial aberrations. Atom economy is one of the major factors in developing catalysis chemistry. Using the minimum amount of catalyst to obtain the maximum product yield is of the utmost priority in catalysis, which drives us to use parts-per-million (ppm) levels of catalyst loadings in syntheses. In this context, a new ferrocene functionalized Schiff base and its copper(II) complex have been synthesized and characterized. This Cu(II) complex is employed as a catalyst for popular 'click chemistry', where 1,2,3-triazoles are the end product. As low as 5 ppm catalyst loading is enough to produce gram scale product, and highest turnover number (TON) and turnover frequency (TOF) values of 140 000 and 70 000 h−1 are achieved, respectively. Furthermore, this highly efficient protocol has been successfully applied to the preparation of diverse functionalized materials with pharmaceutical, labelling and supramolecular properties. In the present study, a new photoactive bimetallic Cu‐Au@g‐C3N4 catalytic system was designed by impregnating Cu and Au NPs over the graphitic carbon nitrite (g‐C3N4) surface. Characterization of the catalyst using multiple techniques illustrated that very small‐sized Cu and Au NPs were monodispersed on the g‐C3N4 surface, which were obtained by the in situ reduction of the metal salts using sodium borohydride. The as‐synthesized bimetallic Cu‐Au@g‐C3N4 catalyst efficiently catalyzed the hydroxylation of benzene (HOB) via C–H activation under visible light irradiation at room temperature. The dominant role of the synergistic interaction between Cu and Au NPs were further elucidated by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR‐TEM) studies and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. This study may provide a new avenue for the preparation of photoactive bimetallic catalysts and offers insight into the synergistic interaction of bimetallic catalytic HOB reactions.
