Due to the typically high flow rate of nozzles on large sprinkler machines, direct use for pesticide application can lead to pesticide waste and non-point source pollution. To fulfill the multifunctional needs of large sprinkler machines for irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide application, this study installed atomizing micro-sprinklers on the machines to enable their pesticide application capabilities. Based on the spraying patterns of the atomizing micro-sprinklers, three types were selected for this study: hollow cone, solid cone, and fan-shaped micro-sprinklers. Three working pressure levels were set at 0.2 MPa, 0.3 MPa, and 0.5 MPa, with the height of the micro-sprinklers above the ground set at three levels: 0.8 m, 1.2 m, and 1.5 m. A completely randomized design was used for the experiment, which included hydraulic performance tests and software simulation. The results indicated that the spray volume of the hollow cone, solid cone, and fan-shaped atomizing micro-sprinklers approximately presented a hollow conical, solid conical, and normal distribution, respectively. The spray intensity (average and maximum values) of the atomizing micro-sprinklers increased with the increase in pressure, while the median showed an initial increase followed by a decrease as pressure increased. Under the same pressure conditions, the spray intensity of the different atomizing micro-sprinklers decreased with the increase in height above the ground, while the spray width increased with height. By comparing the spraying characteristics of micro-sprinklers with various patterns, large sprinkler machines can select atomizing micro-sprinklers in different spraying statuses according to actual conditions and determine the optimal height of the atomizing micro-sprinklers above the ground to achieve efficient and uniform pesticide application effects. This reduces the evaporation and drift loss of liquid medicine. The research findings provide a scientific basis for achieving the pesticide application function of large sprinkler machines and expanding their usage capabilities.

Objective To study the RHD genotyping of primary screening RhD negative population in Beijing, and analyze the serological characteristics of different genotypes and the distribution of Rh phenotypes. Methods From August 2022 to January 2024, 204 RhD negative samples in our hospital were initially screened by microplate or microcolumn agglutination method. RhD antigen phenotype was identified by saline tube method, and RhD negative confirmation test was performed by microcolumn gel-indirect antiglobulin technology.RHD genotyping was performed by polymerasing chain reaction-sequence specific primmer (PCR-SSP) method and sequencing technology, and the phenotypic frequency and gene frequency were calculated. Results The distribution of Rh serologic phenotypes in 204 RhD negative samples were 112 cases of ccee (54.90%) > 73 cases of Ccee (35.78%) > 9 cases of CCee (4.41%) > 6 cases of ccEe (2.94%) > 4 cases of CcEe (1.96%). A total of 7 RHD genotypes were detected in this study, including 129 cases of RHD* 01N.01 (63.24%), 44 cases of RHD* 01EL.01 (21.57%), 26 cases of RHD* 01N.03 (12.75%), 2 cases of RHD* 01N.16 (0.98%), 1 case of RHD* 06.03.01 (0.49%), 1 case of weak RHD* 15 (0.49%) and 1 case of RHD* 13.01/RHD* 01N.01 (0.49%). The frequency and phenotype distribution of Rh blood group antigen gene were consistent with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P>0.05). Conclusion The RHD gene is polymorphic in the primary screening RhD negative population in Beijing, and the most common RhD negative genotype is RHD* 01N.01, and the RHD variant is RHD* 01EL.01.This study may provide data to support the clinical implementation of genotype-matched blood transfusions.

Objective To explore the prognostic impact and clinical application value of therapeutic plasma exchange(TPE) intervention timing and liver injury periodization in patients with exertional heat stroke(EHS). Methods Data of 127 EHS patients from the First Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People′s Liberation Army from January 2011 to December 2023 were collected, then divided into the death group and the survival group based on therapeutic outcomes and into 5 stages according to the dynamic changes of ALT, AST, TBIL and DBIL. According to propensity score matching analysis, 11 patients in the survival group and 12 patients in the death group were included in the statistical analysis, and 20 of them were treated with TPE. The changes in indicators and clinical outcomes before and after TPE were observed, in order to evaluate the impact of intervention timing on prognosis. Results Among the 23 patients, 14 had no liver injury or could progress to the repair phase, resulting in 3 deaths(with the mortality rate of 21.43%), while 9 patients failed to progress to the repair phase, resulting in 9 deaths(with the mortality rate of 100%), with significant differences(P

Abstract Introduction D–Phenotype is linked to abnormal expression of RHCE gene. Consequently, individuals with this condition may develop antibodies against high-prevalence Rh antigens when exposed to a normal Rh phenotype, leading to challenges in blood matching. Case presentation A 90-year-old male was admitted to the hospital due to prostatitis and acute retention of urinary. Surgery was planned after evaluation by urologist. A request was made for 2 units of red blood cells (RBC). The result for unexpected antibody screening was positive, and the antibody was identified as anti-Hr0 alloantibody , a rare RHCE * CE-D (5) – CE was discovered by genetic testing. The patient has only one history of blood transfusion, which may result in the production of the anti-Hr0 antibody. Compatible blood donors for this patient were not found, even after extensive screening. Conclusion This report records a rare case of a D-- phenotype individual who produced anti-Hr0 alloantibody. Subsequent analysis of RH gene sequencing revealed a genotype that has not been previously reported in Asia.

Abstract. Warfarin is a commonly used oral anticoagulant. Patients with artificial valve replacement, atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and other diseases require long-term anticoagulant oral treatment with warfarin. As warfarin exhibits prompt action with long maintenance time, it has become a key drug for the treatment of patients at risk of developing thrombosis or thromboembolism. Warfarin is a bican coumarin anticoagulant, that exhibits competitive action against vitamin K as its mechanism of action, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of coagulation factors—predominantly the vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II, VII, IX, and X—in hepatocytes. Long-term warfarin is known to significantly increase the risk of organ bleeding in some patients, while some patients may need to reverse the anticoagulation effect. For instance, patients scheduled for emergency or invasive surgery may require rapid anticoagulation reversal. During such medical circumstances, fresh frozen plasma (FFP) is clinically used for the reversal of excess warfarin-associated anticoagulation, as it contains all the coagulation factors that can alleviate the abnormal blood anticoagulation status in such patients. Accordingly, this article aims to perform an in-depth review of relevant literature on the reversal of warfarin with FFP, and insightful deliberation of the application and efficacy of this clinical intervention.

Niemann–Pick disease type C1 (NPC1) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by lysosomal storage of free cholesterol. 2-Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide derivative that is being developed to treat NPC1. Recently, metformin was reported to be beneficial in various neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s diseases. In this study, we examined the effects of combined treatment with HPβCD and metformin on Npc1−/− mice. Unfortunately, body weight and survival rates showed that cotreatment with metformin did not extend survival time and increase the body weight of HPβCD-treated Npc1−/− mice. However, cotreatment with metformin reduced inflammatory response and inhibited the proinflammatory cytokine release in the brain, liver and spleen of HPβCD-treated Npc1−/− mice. Furthermore, metformin did not reduce the free cholesterol levels in Npc1−/− brain tissue or fibroblasts. In conclusion, our results demonstrate that metformin does not show beneficial effects on body weight or survival time but reduced the inflammatory response in a mouse model of NPC1 when combined with HPβCD.

Background: Preoperative anemia is an important pillar of perioperative patient blood management. However, there was no literature comprehensively described the current situation of preoperative anemia in China. Methods: We conducted a national retrospective cross-sectional study to assess the prevalence and intervention of preoperative anemia in Chinese adults. Data were from the National Preoperative Anemia Database based on hospital administration data from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2018. Findings: A total of 797,002 patients were included for analysis. Overall, 27.57% (95% CI 27.47–27.67) of patients had preoperative anemia, which varied by gender, age, regions, and type of operation. Patients who were female, age over 60 years old, from South China, from provinces with lower per capita GDP, underwent operations on the lymphatic and hematopoietic system, with laboratory abnormalities were more likely to have a high risk of preoperative anemia. Among patients with preoperative anemia, 5.16% (95% CI 5.07–5.26) received red blood cell transfusion, 7.79% (95% CI 7.67–7.91) received anemia-related medications such as iron, erythropoietin, folic acid or vitamin B12, and 12.25% (95% CI 12.10–12.40) received anemia-related therapy (red blood cell transfusion or anemia-related medications) before operation. The probability of preoperative RBC transfusion decreased by 54.92% (OR 0.46, 95% CI 0.46–0.47) as each 10-g/L increase in preoperative hemoglobin. Patients with preoperative hemoglobin less than 130 g/L was associated with longer hospital stay and more hospital costs. Patients with severe preoperative anemia given iron preoperatively had lower intra/post-operative RBC transfusion rate, shorter length of stay and less hospitalization costs, but no similar correlation was found in patients with mild and moderate preoperative anemia and patients given erythropoietin preoperatively. Interpretation: Our present study shows that preoperative anemia is currently a relatively prevalent problem that has not been fully appreciated in China. More researches will be required to optimize the treatment of preoperative anemia. In this study, we derived regional soil moisture (SM) using the latest Landsat 8 image and in situ soil moisture observations at the People's Victory Irrigation District, China. Landsat 8 image was used to construct the temperature-vegetation-dryness-index (TVDI), which integrates the vegetation index (VI) and land surface temperature (LST) to reflect the regional soil moisture conditions. The normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and modified soil adjusted vegetation index (MSAVI) were used in this study to construct the LST-VI feature space. The correlations between the in situ soil moisture observations and the three TVDIs calculated via the LST-NDVI, LSTEVI, and LST-MSAVI were analyzed. The results indicated that the three TVDIs had a negative correlation with the soil moisture. Then the effective depth of the surface soil moisture was analyzed and found that the soil moisture at a depth of 0-200 mm had a stronger correlation with the TVDIs than the other depths. Finally, the retrieval models were verified by using the remote sensing and in situ soil moisture data on another day. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
