The Connected Sensor Problem (CSP) presents a prevalent challenge in the realms of communication and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Its primary aim is to maximize the coverage of users while maintaining connectivity among K sensors. Addressing the challenge of managing a large user base alongside a finite number of candidate locations, this paper proposes an extension to the CSP: the h-hop independently submodular maximization problem characterized by curvature α. We have developed an approximation algorithm that achieves a ratio of 1−e−α(2h+3)α. The efficacy of this algorithm is demonstrated on the CSP, where it shows superior performance over existing algorithms, marked by an average enhancement of 8.4%.

The supersonic–supersonic ejector–diffuser system is employed to suck supersonic low-pressure and low-temperature flow into a high-pressure environment. A new design of a supersonic–supersonic ejector–diffuser was introduced to verify pressure control performance under different operating conditions and vacuum background pressure. A 1D analysis was used to predict the geometrical structure of an ejector–diffuser with a rectangular section based on the given operating conditions. Different numbers and types of nozzle plates were designed and installed on the ejector to study the realizability of avoiding or postponing the aerodynamic choking phenomenon in the mixing section. The effects of different geometrical parameters on the operating performance of the ejector–diffuser system were discussed in detail. Experimental investigation of the effects of different types of nozzle plates and the back pressures on the pressure control performance of the designed ejector–diffuser system were performed in a straight-flow wind tunnel. The results showed that the position, type and number of the nozzle plates have a significant impact on the beginning of the formation of aerodynamic choking. The geometry of the ejector and the operating conditions, especially the backpressure and inlet pressure of the ejecting stream, determined the entrainment ratio of the two supersonic streams. The experimental results showed that long nozzle-plate had a better performance in terms of maintaining pressure stability in the test section, while short a nozzle-plate had a better pressure matching performance and could maintain a higher entrainment ratio under high backpressure conditions.

With the continuous acceleration of China’s urbanization process, color steel plate, as a new type of building material, has been widely used in all kinds of temporary buildings and has become the spatial carrier of the specific development stage of urbanization. This study focuses on Lanzhou City as a case study to deeply analyze the spatiotemporal distribution and evolution of color steel plate buildings. Utilizing data extracted from Google imagery and GF-2 satellite images of the built-up areas in Lanzhou, spatial statistical and analytical methods such as centroid analysis, compactness index, and patch density are applied. Systematic analysis is conducted across different time periods and spatial scales to examine the evolution of indicators, including quantity, centroid distribution, spatial clustering, and distribution direction. The results show that from 2013 to 2021, the prevalence of color steel buildings in Lanzhou city initially increased and then decreased, and the number peaked in 2017, but there is a significant difference between distinct areas in the urban area. By quantitatively analyzing the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of color steel plate buildings, this study reveals the important role it plays in promoting the urbanization process and provides a scientific basis for relevant planning decisions.

This study examines boundary layer control and pressure recovery in low Reynolds number supersonic flow with chemical reactions in a chemical laser system. Our work prescribes a novel boundary layer control method for the optical cavity of a chemical laser system, and a design of a supersonic diffuser is compared and proposed to make a stable flow for the system. The flow characteristics of a low Reynolds number and internal reaction heat release were analyzed. Three types of experimental pieces were designed to passively control the boundary layer in the optical cavity. An active booster-type supersonic diffuser is proposed to study the pressure recovery problem of a low Reynolds number and chemical reaction supersonic flow generated by an optical cavity. A supersonic chemical reaction platform (SCRP) was established to conduct experimental research on boundary layer control and docking the active booster supersonic diffuser with the SCRP. The experimental results indicate that increasing the boundary layer pumping capacity within a certain range can reduce both the boundary layer thickness and the pressure on the optical cavity while simultaneously enhancing the SCRP energy power. The supersonic diffuser based on active gas pressurization can create the necessary conditions for the normal chemical reaction and improve the ability of the SCRP to resist high back pressure and airflow disturbance. Moreover, the chemical reaction energy release was full and stable with the docking of supersonic diffuser test pieces, resulting in energy power increases, which could be a significant improvement for the design of chemical laser systems.

The maglev flight tunnel is a novel conceptual aerodynamics test facility, in which the complicated aerodynamic characteristics caused by the high-speed translation of a moving model in a long, straight, closed tunnel, and wave propagation and aero-structure single-way coupling problems can be investigated. The unsteady characteristics originating from a high-speed model in the maglev flight tunnel were investigated and evaluated with regard to aero–structure coupling. The new conservation element and solution element method was used to solve the 3-D compressible fluid surrounding a moving model in a tunnel, and the variations in the aerodynamic parameters, wave propagation characteristics, and pressure distribution in the tunnel were obtained. The results provide support for key technical problems, such as a wave-absorbing construction design of the maglev flight wind tunnel.

Abstract The transfer of the flexor hallucis longus tendon or flexor digitorum longus tendon is frequently used for the treatment of posterior tibial tendon insufficiency or chronic Achilles tendinopathy. According to several anatomical studies, harvesting the flexor hallucis longus (FHL) tendon may cause nerve injury. Sixty-eight embalmed feet were dissected and anatomically classified to define the relationship between Henry’s knot and the plantar nerves. Two different configurations were identified. In Pattern 1, which was observed in 64 specimens (94.1%), the distance between the medial plantar nerve and Henry’s knot was 5.96 mm (range, 3.34 to 7.84, SD = 1.12). In Pattern 2, which was observed in 4 specimens (5.9%), there was no distance between the medial plantar nerve (MPN) and Henry’s knot. No statistically significant difference was observed according to gender or side (p > 0.05). A retraction was performed to harvest the FHL through the posteromedial hindfoot incision using a single minimally invasive technique, and the medial and lateral plantar nerve lesions were scrupulously assessed. In conclusion, medial and lateral plantar nerve injuries did not occur more frequently, even after performing a single minimally invasive incision to harvest the FHL tendon, due to the large distance between the FHL tendon and the medial and lateral plantar nerves.
