Introduction: The aim of this paper is to delve into the emotional and psychological challenges that fathers face as they navigate the complexities of having a preterm infant in the NICU and in an unprecedented sanitary context. Methods: We used three data collection methods such as interviews (narrative and the Clinical Interview for Parents of High-risk Infants-CLIP) and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) to gain a comprehensive understanding of the cases. Results: The following analysis explores two individuals' personal experiences of becoming a first-time father during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic through a close examination of two superordinate themes: "A series of separations through the experienced COVID-19 restrictions" and "Moments of connection." The transition to fatherhood is essentially with a medicalized form of connection with their newborn and the perceived paternal identity. In terms of temporality, these fathers experienced a combination of concerns about their infants' long-term development and COVID-19 health concerns. This study intended to investigate the effectiveness of experiential and inquiry-based learning approaches in secondary schools around Bugiri District in Eastern Uganda with a focus on whether inquiry-based teaching techniques were being used to support student learning based on evidenced experiential education as well as challenges encountered when utilizing these methods. This narrative cross-sectional survey study employed a qualitative approach using interview responses attained from key informants. Findings indicate that through an inquiry-based approach, students are urged to study the subject, ask questions, and exchange ideas rather than have the teacher dictate what they should know. In inquiry-based learning, small-group discussions, guided learning, projects, and hands-on investigation take precedence over lessons. In addition, teachers are typically better at spotting errors in students’ work than they are in their own. It is crucial to ensure students’ learning by giving them high-quality information. Some children learn best by looking at visuals, others by listening and some by reading and writing. The writing proficiency of Islamic Junior High School (MTs) students falls short of expectations due to limited literacy, time constraints, and a lack of writing material ideas and references. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Experiential approach model in enhancing narrative writing skills among ninth-grade students at MTsN 8 Gunungkidul during the 2022/2023 academic year. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, 63 students were randomly selected from a population of 158 students, divided into an experimental group (IXC) and a control group (IXE). Data were collected through documentation, tests, and observations and analyzed with various methods. The research results indicate that the use of the Experiential approach model significantly improved students' writing abilities in Inspirational Stories compared to the conventional approach. This research serves as a valuable reference for teachers in selecting effective teaching models and for future studies in the field.

The current study explored the effects of an experiential intervention on emotional intelligence in adolescents. A sample of 238 teenagers and adolescents aged 16 and 19 years went through an emotional intelligence (EI) development programme comprising eight exercises. The exercises were developed based on the Mayer and Salovey four-branch ability model. Participants were assessed pre- and post-intervention with the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test. Scores on emotional intelligence and three of its four related branches were significantly increased after the intervention. Additionally, findings revealed that the improvements in scores were stronger for participants with initially average scores on EI. Adolescents with low levels of EI can benefit from an experiential-oriented intervention to improve their abilities in perceiving and managing their emotions in relation with themselves and others. The relative ability of four comedic sketches to induce amusement in the laboratory and its moderation by dispositional differences in experiential approach as a form of positive emotion regulation were investigated. College student participants reported significant and equivalent diminished levels of negative affect relative to baseline following each sketch, while the level of positive affect induced by The Office exceeded that elicited by two of the three other sketches as well as by a top-ranked French comedic film clip. Regression models indicated that the two subscales of the Experiential Approach Scale and their interaction accounted for significant variability in negative mood reductions following the sketches. Unexpectedly, college student participants who enjoyed the greatest decrement in negative affect reported a regulation style in which anxiously clinging to positive emotions dominates over sustaining and savoring them. The limitations of this project and implications of its findings for laboratory inductions of amusement, as well as further investigations of its possible moderation by experiential approach as form of positive emotion regulation are discussed. The project of this contribution is to show that another way of thinking the practice analysis is emerging today, by “mutating” analysing to problematising/animating to accompanying/the group to the accompanying collective, and by placing the exhibitor in an analysing situation and not analysed one. This mutation is part of the theoretical framework of problematisation and in the understanding we currently have of accompanying. It is reexamining the concept of an experiential approach and the tension of its dual heritage: the North American current that supports the idea of experimentation and the European Bildung current that develops the idea of experience and the search for meaning. The prevalence of mental health problems during childhood and adolescence is on the rise. There is a growing interest in the examination of personal variables that may function as risk factors and that may be targeted for effective intervention. This study explores the relationships amongst different aspects of psychological inflexibility (one, typically studied, focusing on the individual's responding to unwanted emotions and cognitions, and another, more recently explored, focusing on the individual's responding to desired thoughts and affective states), emotional intelligence, and mental health symptoms. A total of 129 school-going children (mean age: 11.16 years old) completed a battery of instruments comprising the Avoidance and Fusion Questionnaire-Youth (AFQ-Y17), the Experiential Approach Scale (EAS), the Emotional Intelligence Quotient Inventory (EQi-YV), and the Revised Child Anxiety and Depression Scale (RCADS-30). Results showed that both the AFQ-Y17 score and an EAS subscale score (Anxious Clinging) were significant independent predictors of mental health symptoms in general. Emotional intelligence was predictive only for depression, and both the AFQ-Y17 and the Anxious Clinging EAS subscale significantly incremented the predictive power of a hierarchical linear regression model including all three variables. These results underscore the relevance of psychological inflexibility for child/adolescent mental health, and the need to further explore a specific aspect of inflexibility regarding positive emotions and other appetitive private events. Aims: This preliminary study examined the effects of a participation-based friendship intervention for youth with physical and developmental disabilities on their goal attainment, social self-efficacy, and engagement in program sessions. Methods: Before and after the eight-session intervention, five youth with physical and developmental disabilities ages 15–20 (3 females) completed a measure of goal attainment scaling (GAS) and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) for goals related to friendship, along with a measure of social self-efficacy. Engagement was assessed after every second session (i.e. four times). After the program, youth completed interviews to capture their perceptions of each of these variables. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, enriched with the qualitative data. Results: Overall, youth achieved their GAS goals and demonstrated clinically significant change in mean COPM performance and satisfaction. Three youth displayed clinically significant change in social self-efficacy. Engagement in the program was high, with the majority of participants reporting slightly increasing levels of engagement over the sessions. The interviews substantiated these quantitative changes. Conclusions: There are few evidence-informed friendship interventions for youth with disabilities. This study provides initial evidence for the effectiveness of a participation-based friendship intervention incorporating coaching and focusing on real-world goals and contexts. This research addresses the respective importance of the charitable, experiential, and service-based dimensions associated with benefit concerts. Through a consumer-based approach, we examine the effects of three antecedents (charitable scope, immersion, and quality of service) on satisfaction and behavioral outcomes (loyalty and positive word-of-mouth). Data collected on site immediately after a charity concert are analyzed with structural equation modeling. The state of immersion and the event's charitable scope enhance the overall satisfaction, which, in turn, fosters the behavioral outcomes. Direct effects are identified; satisfaction is influenced more by immersion, whereas behavioral outcomes depend more on charitable scope. The type of initial motivation moderates the findings: The quality of service enhances satisfaction only among attendees with other-focused motivation, immersion improves satisfaction if the motivation is self-focused, and charitable scope remains an important factor of satisfaction regardless of the type of motivation. This study adopts the experiential and more specifically a hedonic view of tourism consumption to examine the nature of wine tourist motivations in a wine region destination. It also determines the effect of destination factors such as the perceived characteristics of the wine region, previous visitation, buying behavior, and age generational cohorts. Information was obtained from a random sample of 513 visitors to the Barossa Valley Region in Australia. The most important destination characteristic is the regional landscape's scenic beauty. The strong impact of the landscape confirms an experiential research approach can yield valuable insights and that a memorable wine tourism experience does not only evolve inside a winery's cellar door. The wine tourism engagement decision is generally impulsive, and motivations guiding visitors' behavior predominantly hedonic in nature. Starting from Dewey, Lewin and Kolb approach, theorists of a pedagogy which sets its basis on experience as a meaning creator entity, you'll find in this paper a reflection about the benefits the deep and essential union between abstract knowledge and concrete action can bring to a process of durable learning. The aim of the paper is that of presenting a possible way to the application of theoretical guidelines of the so-called "experiential learning approach" (guidelines that have always been traditionally applied to hard science fields) to the foreign language teaching, especially Spanish Language Teaching. The paper proposes, for this purpose, as a representative example, a didactic activity for the SFL class drawn up on the basis of the integration to the task-based approach of experiential learning approach derived principles. Several measures of experiential avoidance have been developed in investigating how efforts to control unwanted private events may contribute to psychopathology. We sought to extend research on experiential control by developing and examining the psychometric properties of the Experiential Approach Scale (EAS) as a measure reflecting efforts to sustain desired affective states. An exploratory and 2 confirmatory analyses revealed a 2-factor structure comprised of Anxious Clinging and Experience Prolonging subscales. Further structural analyses supported a hierarchical model of experiential control, with experiential approach and experiential avoidance as first-order factors. Both EAS subscales demonstrated high internal reliability and temporal stability as well as sufficient convergent and divergent validity. Only Anxious Clinging was positively associated with measures of psychological distress and psychopathology and inversely related to subjective happiness and satisfaction with life. Purpose -- The purpose of this paper is to revisit Schein's proposed process-consultation approach as a general framework for management consulting in the light of some premises of the agency theory, namely the behavior induced by the asymmetry of information between the principal (leader-client) and the agent (consultant). Design/methodology/approach -- Empirical research consisted of an in-depth, qualitative and phenomenological analysis of 13 cases of organizational intervention based on the practice of four senior consultants in a Canadian management consulting firm whose philosophy is based on organizational development principles and practices. All the cases chosen are characterized by a situation of strategic change as a result of governmental reforms in the healthcare sector between 2005 and 2008. Findings -- Overall, the study shows that the relationship between leaders-clients and consultants varies from one stage to another throughout the consultation process and that the information asymmetry does not always benefit the agent as stated in the agency theory. The consultants are required to play diverse roles, either in combination or alternation, during the consultation process; the facilitator's role, stated as the more efficient role in Schein's perspective and the more altruistic from the point of view of the agency theory, is not necessarily the role preferred by managers. Moreover, results highlight the idiosyncrasies of healthcare organizations, namely the phenomenon of escalating indecision that comes into play during the implementation phase of change, worth taking into account in the practice and theories of management consulting. Practical implications -- This analysis raises a number of questions about the general understanding and applicability of the process consultation as defined by Schein. Perhaps the four consultants have not perfectly mastered the interpersonal skills that Schein's model presupposes. One may also conclude that the model does not always respond to the expectations and needs of leaders and managers and that, for many consultants, it is difficult to adopt only one role model throughout the consulting process. One may also question its realism in a context of interventions in public organizations, with a plurality of interest groups and ambiguity of goals, where governmental reforms are pressuring managers to control costs. Originality/value -- According to Eisenhardt (1989) and Hendry (2002), the agency theory offers promising avenues if combined with other theoretical anchors such as the field of organizational behavior. This study scrutinizes the leader-consultant relationship, and more specifically the type of assistance requested by healthcare leaders as they experienced strategic change and how consultants responded to these requests. Children today spend significantly less time playing outdoors than their parents did. Therefore, great attention must be paid by professionals to face this educational challenge, especially within early childhood scholastic contexts. That is a particular task for Outdoor Education (OE), a field of practice and research traditionally associated with personal and social development, and environmental education. The field has rich histories in some European countries (e.g. UK, Scandinavian nations, Germany), but nowadays is also more common in Italy, from where this Case Study comes. The aim for this study was to reinforce teachers' awareness about how best to use the outdoors at school, to construct a supportive context for activities, to extend their classrooms into the school grounds and local neighborhood. Our article aims to enable educators to understand also the philosophical underpinnings of an educational model based on experiential Outdoor Learning (OL) in authentic contexts, which can be adopted and adapted by educators across Europe. In most cases, the research focused on the discussion of Modernism- Postmodernism dichotomy without explicitly bringing to light the impact of this transition on the theory of consumption. Hence, the latter presents the objective of this literature gist overview. Drawing on Firat & Venkatech's researches and many others, first, we attempt to shed lights on fundamental theoretical issues: What is the postmodern reflection? What are the main characteristics of modernism and postmodernism? The main critics explaining the transition from Modernism to Postmodernism? Second, the discussion moves toward highlighting the conditions and characteristics of the postmodern consumer. In this case, we aim to stress its relationship with the concept of the consumption lived experience. Hence, this literature review translates a progressive and critical theoretical analysis by highlighting the close relationship of the postmodernism with the emergence of the experiential approach. Introduction: Since labor force migration has emerged in our country, several studies have been conducted on children separated from one or both parents. These studies show that, when children are left home alone, the parents' absence for long periods of time can have significant negative effects on their personality development. The absence of one or both parents may be associated with a number of non-provision issues of the child's basic needs such as food neglect, clothing neglect, hygiene neglect, medical neglect, housing neglect, educational neglect (under-stimulation, punishment instability and reward learning models lack independent living skills, the lack of monitoring and supervision of the school situation). Besides these problems that are easily observed and monitored by the community in which the child lives, more subtle problems may occur, hardly noticeable by non-specialists. This paper presents a case describing a situation in which the child's psychological suffering turned into a systemic disease that makes the child keep his mother close to him (infantile diabetes) and the experiential way to approach this case. Objectives: The reason for choosing this case is the desire to find an answer to the question whether it is best for a child to leave with his family abroad or to stay at home in the care of grandparents or other relatives. The first answer that comes to mind is that family should be together. But things are far too complex to hold such simple answers. The ultimate objective of counseling was to unlock the natural process of personal growth and to find resources to help the child during the process. Methods: Evaluation / Initial psycho-diagnosis of the child and family was conducted by means of: an interview with the mother, projective tests: "draw a person" test, tree test (Baum test) and family test, characterization of the child's class. The evaluation was conducted throughout the intervention: experiential diagnosis ("which is a dynamic diagnosis, allowing progressive, comparative evaluation" as shown in I. Mitrofan (2004)), observation and feedback from family and class master. The techniques used were specific to the experiential approach: drawing, dramatization and connection to what happens in everyday life, therapeutic stories, metaphor etc. The final evaluation consisted of the family and the girl's feedback. Results: Increased autonomy of the girl towards her mother can be seen in the glucose monitoring and insulin dosing, without her mother's help. Conclusions: The experience with that kind of client has shown that children, who succeed in "crying out" their suffering through disturbing behaviors, have more chances to be helped. Those, whose suffering is silent, have all the chances to find the "saving solution" within. The solution may be a somatic suffering which has not been linked to the parent's absence from home until now. Due to the negative emotional impact of such an event in a child's life, he or she develops a type of attachment for the parent who leaves according to the family model. Cultural intelligence (CQ) represents advancement in the area of international human resources management and cross-cultural training. An experiential approach to CQ training is developed and analyzed. A diverse, multicultural group of over 370 participated. General self-efficacy and contextual aspects related to Contact Theory were found to be significant to training outcomes in CQ development. In crafting the most effective CQ training and education, organizations and international human resources staff can benefit from understanding individual and contextual influences. Abstract: Cultural intelligence represents a promising development in the field of cross-cultural management. While foundational models and predictors of cultural intelligence have been proposed, there remains a need for more empirical research in cultural intelligence education and development. Theory relates cultural intelligence, and the development of this capacity, to a number of important considerations, including individual attributes and experiences. This research effort examines a multi-cultural group of over 370 managers and management students, testing theoretical relations between individual characteristics (i.e. general self-efficacy, international travel experience, management and work experience) with cultural intelligence development (meta-cognitive, motivation and behavior aspects). An experiential approach to cultural intelligence education is summarized. The findings suggest that general self-efficacy holds a key relation to predicting successful development of cultural intelligence capacities. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The article presents a case study of the electronic government (e-government) website of Jordan. It cites the two objectives of this research, one of which was to propose an instrument to determine the major dimensions used in the evaluation of such sites. It cites an experiential test, were specific tasks were performed, carried out by a sample of 300 Jordanian students. Also cited are the key factors in predicting the adoption of the site, including usability.

Psychological inflexibility is a transdiagnostic dimension associated to psychological distress and poor mental health and quality of life. While multiple instruments have been developed for the assessment of patterns of inflexible responding to aversive private events (e.g., unwanted cognitions and emotions), the Experiential Approach Scale (EAS) is the first instrument specifically designed to assess inflexible responding to appetitive private events (e.g., desired affective states). In this study, we explored the factor structure, internal consistency, and convergent validity of a Spanish adaptation of the EAS with a convenience sample of college students from Spain ( n = 206; 79% female). A two-factor solution demonstrated very good fit to the data and was similar to the original two-subscale EAS structure: Anxious Clinging and Experience Prolonging. The scale showed adequate overall (α = 0.85) and subscale (αs: 0.90 and 0.89) internal consistency. Unlike the original instrument, both subscales were uncorrelated. Anxious Clinging correlated positively with experiential avoidance and with measures of negative affect and psychopathology, and negatively with positive affect, subjective happiness, and life satisfaction. In turn, Experience Prolonging correlated negatively with psychopathology and positively with positive affect, subjective happiness, and life satisfaction. Our results point to Anxious Clinging as the only EAS subscale contributing to psychological inflexibility.
