The current paper aims to assess whether the parenting style adopted by parents influences their children's level of sociableness. For research purposes, 52 children of the 4th grade from a Romanian school in Constanţa and 104 parents have undergone two psychological tests. The research methods chosen were the well-known parental style questionnaire "Do you know your parental style?" by Goyetche (2022) and the questionnaire "The sociability test" by Roşca & Tudoran (2005) and Martin (2005). The results show that the democratic parental style is associated with a higher degree of sociability among 4th grade pupils (p<0,001). The parenting style that most supports the development of young schoolchildren's sociability is the democratic one, followed by the permissive one. The authoritarian parenting style scored the lowest in our findings, leading to the conclusion that this style may hinder children's emotional development in the long term. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigated cases of spinal cord injury (SCI) during the years 2017-2021, in Constanta County (Romania) to update the data on SCI and thus identify the SCI trends in this region of Romania. Methods: The study retrospectively analysed patients with SCI in Constanța County, whose data (medical records) were provided to us by the Romania Motivation Foundation. This analysis was made for the period January 1, 2017 - August 31, 2021. Results: Ninety-six new traumatic cases of SCI were reported between 2017 and 2021 in Constanța County. It was found that the annual incidence is 2.48 per hundred thousand inhabitants. The male / female ratio was 5:1 and the mean age at injury was 33.52 ± 15.1 (33.41 ± 14.80 for men and 33.92 ± 16.01 for women). The most common cause of injury was unintentional fall (48.95%), followed by road accidents (39.58%), stab wounds (4.16%), gunshot wounds (3.12%) and injuries caused by diving 2.08%). Fifteen patients (15.62%) were quadriplegic, and 81 patients (84.37%) were paraplegic. The most common level of lesions was C4 (33.33%) in tetraplegics and T12 (25.92%) in paraplegics. The most common associated injury was head trauma (15.8%), followed by limb fractures (9.5%). The incidence rate of SCI in Constanta County increased (p <0.05) and the highest increase in the incidence of spinal cord injuries was observed among patients in the age groups 29 - 49 years. Conclusions: Due to the existence of limitations, it is difficult to obtain accurate epidemiological data for SCI. Therefore, more studies are needed to provide a large amount of data and evidence. Multidisciplinary approach of clinical cases in rehabilitations units can be very complex and divers. Method: We present a case of a woman 30 years old, whose oncological histo-ry begins 9 years ago, when the diagnosis of invasive ductal mammary infiltrating ca-nelular carcinoma grade I was made and treated by tumorectomy (lumpectomy). The pa-tient refused oncological treatment at that time and resorted to alternative medicine dur-ing a period of 7 years: diet without sugar and animal products; regular vitamin B17 treatments; almond kernel cure; high-dose intravenous vitamin C treatment for; intrave-nous ozone therapy; apitherapy with bee venom; oral administration of cannabis oil dur-ing the past four years until now; physical therapy. Results: The evolution is marked by the appearance of multiple bone metastatic lesions. The most worst clinical consequence was a hyperalgesic cervicobrachial neuralgia, due to multiple C6-T3 lytic lesions diagnosed 2 years ago and C7 compression (close to spinal cord injury), situation which had as medical approach two surgeries interventions, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Con-clusions: The rehabilitation program was adapted to every stage of clinical evolution and was marked by many complications. The rehabilitation tools that are designed to improve the function of patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) have various effects. The goals of rehabilitation are to prevent secondary complications, maximize physical functioning, and integrate them into the community. The objective of this study is to evaluate the functional and neurological outcomes of patients with SCI after in-patient rehabilitation in a balneary unit. Methods: one hundred forty-two patients, admitted for primary rehabilitation in a two-year period (2020–2021), aged ≥18 years with SCI, divided into traumatic SCI (T-SCI) and nontraumatic SCI (NT-SCI). The following demographic information was collected: gender, age, studies, occupation, and environment. All patients underwent an initial clinical examination which included diagnosis, causes of SCI, medication, Carmeli score, fall risk, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain, Functional Independence Measure Motor (FIMm), Functional Independence Measure Cognitive (FIMc), and Functional Independence Measure Total (FIMt). At discharge, the fall risk, VAS, FIMm, FIMc, and FIMt were analyzed. We compared the results between the two groups. Results: T-SCI group was 65 (45.77%) and the NT-SCI group was 77 (54.23%). The study analyzed the effects of rehabilitation on the functional presentation of patients with SCI. It also compared the effects of rehabilitation on T-SCI versus NT-SCI on different outcomes such as age, gender, and clinical–functional impairment. Conclusions: Physical medicine and rehabilitation increase the autonomy of patients. Neurological improvement begins in the first 10 days of complex rehabilitation treatment and is not significantly different between the two groups. Aim: The scapulohumeral periarthritis is a clinical syndrome characterized by shoulder pain and movement mobility limitation, caused by periarticular structures affecting the following: tendons, capsule, ligaments, muscles, synovial bursa. The disorder is favored by the congenital factors (a too narrow space between the rotator muscles tendons and the subacromial bony arch, for exemple) or by the mechanical factors (the excesive professional or sportif use of the articulation). This study had as its purpose to determine in which degree the use of active with resistance Thera-Band exercises increases strength and mobility on the shoulder, compared with the application of the classical strategies in therapy. Methods: The research was conducted at the Balneal and Recovery Sanatorium of Techirghiol in 2020 autumn and included 26 patients (11 men, 25 women, age media 43), all being diagnosed with scapulohumeral periarthritis and equally divided into two groups, control and experimental. Results: All the subjects involved in the research gained mobility and pain intensity decreased, but the experimental group presented a higher score of the final goniometry tests than the control group. Conclusions: Resistance band exercises for periarthritic shoulder optimized the given physical therapy sessions. This paper aims to determine the level of motivation in the case of both professional and amateur female soccer players in Romania. We have designed and administered a motivation questionnare ("Assessing motivation for soccer practice") to a sample of 75 female subjects, comprising 25 professional and 50 amateur soccer players in the Romanian league. The results obtained for the general score of the questionnaire show no relevant differences between the experimental group and the control group (p > 0,05). However, the analysis of the scores for each motivational dimension shows that the experimental group obtained higher values for the dimensions „Self esteem" and „Necessity of movement" (p < 0,01). No relevant differences between the two groups were visible for the dimensions "Affiliation need" and "Combativeness; aggressivity". The control group scored better than the experimental group for the dimension "Competition interest". The analysis of the results indicates that, no matter which group they belong to, the players present a high level of motivation for soccer practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aims to examine the effects of proprioceptive training upon upper limbs force in the case of female weightlifters. 10 weightlifters from CSS N. Rotaru in Constanța, Romania, took part in an experiment specially designed for this purpose. The experimental group was assigned a proprioceptive training programme of 15 minutes two times per week, for a period of 20 weeks. The tests administered for the assessment of their upper limbs force were push-ups, pushups on the Bosu ball, and dynamometry testing. Data analysis shows that no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group are visible at the initial test (p> 0.05). In the final evaluation, however, the experimental group obtained better scores than the control group in all tests. These findings indicate that the proprioceptive programme proposed has lead to the enhancement of female weightlifters' muscular force. Aim. Acute low back pain (ALBP) is a major factor of disability among workers, causing absence from work and an increased medical care cost. The purpose of this study was to evaluate maximal isometric strength (MIS) differences between acute low back pain subjects with prolonged sitting jobs and demanding physical work jobs, for extension with pelvic stabilization (EPS) and flexion with pelvic stabilization (FPS). Methods. Maximal isometric torque for EPS and FPS was measured at two positions (0 and 30-degree flexion angles) on 56 men. Subjects were assigned in four groups, two with ALBP, the first (n=14) with prolonged sitting jobs and the second (n=14) with demanding physical work jobs and the other two (controls) without ALBP, the first (n=14) with prolonged sitting jobs and the second (n=14) with demanding physical work jobs. Results. ALBP subjects with prolonged sitting jobs and with demanding physical work jobs described lower MIS in both EPS and FPS, in both angles, relative to controls (p<0.05). ALBP subjects with prolonged sitting jobs had lower values of MIS in both EPS and FPS, in both angles, than ALBP subjects with demanding physical work jobs (p<0.05). Conclusions. These data indicate that ALBP has impaired both ALBP groups in MIS production, than controls. Demanding physical work for ALBP subjects is a direct factor for greater MIS production, than ALBP subjects with prolonged sitting jobs, despite the presence of ALBP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim. The aim of the this paper is to improve some offensive technical abilities in women who play soccer. Methods. In this study, we examined 20 soccer players from Selena Constanta women soccer Club, age between 18 and 30 years old. We registered some somatic, motric and technical tests. The technical parameters was: juggling - in 60 seconds, dribbling between cones (18m), precession of the pass (20 m), (pass the ball to a fixed point), shooting from 18 m, finalization from 10 passes. Results. Values of experimental group on technical tests was: 30.87 juggling in final testing vs 27 in initial testing; dribbling between cones 7.17 s in final vs 7.37 s in initial testing; permission of the pass - 9.75 good passes vs 6.20 god passes in initial testing; shooting - 8.12 good shoots vs 4.75; finalization from 10 passes -8.12 good attempt in final testing vs 4.87 good attempt in initial testing. The proprioceptive training has an important role in developing and maintaining the force of the lower limbs. The proprioceptive training rapidly gained attention in the sport performance for both the prevention and recovery of muscular injuries and increasing physical performance. Purpose: The aim of this study was to prove that a 15 minutes of proprioceptive training performed at the beginning of the training sessions has a good influence on force of the lower limb in women soccer players. Material and methods: Participants were 18 active women soccer players, age 20.75 ± 4.59 years old. The task of the experimental group consisted to performed a 15 minutes of proprioceptive exercises, special designed for soccer game, at the beginning of the training sessions, two times a week. For the measurement of the forces of the lower limbs we used Hop test. Conclusions: The experimental group has recorded better results than the control ones, on the Hop test (p < 0,005).
