The essence of enterprise financial modeling is to use mathematical models to classify and sort out all kinds of enterprise information according to the main line of value creation and on this basis to complete the analysis, prediction, and value evaluation of enterprise financial situation. A reasonable financial model is also an effective means to reduce financial fraud. In this paper, a financial fraud identification model is constructed based on empirical data. In the process of model construction, the primary feature set is selected according to the financial fraud motivation theory, and then, the original feature set is obtained by Mann–Whitney test on the primary feature set, and the final fraud identification feature set is selected from the original feature set by using Relief and Boruta algorithms. Finally, based on the final fraud identification feature set, the data algorithms such as decision tree, logistic regression, support vector machine, and random forest are used to identify financial fraud. The experimental results show that the combination of financial fraud identification features constructed by the Relief algorithm and random forest model has the best recognition effect. Aim: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) SNHG17 has been shown to participate in type 2 diabetes mellitus, while its role in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is unknown. Methods: Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) assays were conducted to compare the differential expression of SNHG17 among 60 GDM patients and 60 healthy pregnant female controls. In addition, peripheral blood samples from 240 pregnant females were collected to evaluate the predictive value of SNHG17 for GDM patients. All females were followed-up until delivery to record the occurrence of GDM and perinatal outcomes. GDM-free curves were plotted to compare the occurrence of GDM between high- and low- SNHG17 expression groups. The diagnostic value of plasma SNHG17 for GDM was analyzed by ROC curve analysis. Moreover, the cell counting kit (CCK-8) assay was performed to evaluate the impact of SNHG17 on cell viability of INS-1, and the level of insulin secretion was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) after overexpression or knockdown of SNHG17. Results: SNHG17 was downregulated in GDM patients compared to normal pregnant females. Low plasma expression levels of SNHG17 were closely correlated with the high incidence rate of GDM (GDM-free curve). Remarkably, plasma expression levels of SNHG17 at 4 weeks before the diagnosis of GDM (diagnosed by standard method) can be used to distinguish (ROC curve) GDM patients (diagnosed during follow-up) from normal pregnant females (GDM was not diagnosed during follow-up). Objective To evaluate the impact of drug therapy, radioiodine therapy, and surgical therapy in bone mineral density and biochemical bone turnover markers in patients with hyperthyroidism. Methods A total of 186 female patients with hyperthyroidism were enrolled in the study. They received drug therapy, radioiodine therapy, or surgical therapy according to the disease course and their own wish. Bone mineral density and biochemical bone turnover markers were compared at the time of enrollment and after 2-year treatment. Results Bone mineral density increased and biochemical bone turnover markers decreased significantly in all patients in 3 groups. No difference between bone mineral density and bone turnover markers were found among the 3 groups. Conclusion Drug therapy, radioiodine therapy, and surgical therapy improve bone mineral density and decrease biochemical markers of bone turnover in hyperthyroid patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To compare the effect of long-term small dose of methimazole or radioiodine 131 on bone mineral density (BMD), cardiac function, and biochemical indexes in patients with recurrent hyperthyroidism. Methods Sixty-two patients with recurrent hyperthyroidism were randomly divided into two groups: drug treatment group and radioiodine treatment group. Twenty-eight patients took a long-term oral medication of methimazole, while 34 patients were given a radioiodine treatment. During the follow-up, the thyroid function, serum lipids and lipoproteins, echocardiography, and BMD were detected. Results The thyroid function of 28 patients in drug treatment group and 13 patients in radioiodine treatment group was normal, while the other 21 patients in radioiodine treatment group had hypothyroidism. The serum levels of lipids in drug treatment group were much lower than that in radioiodine treatment group, while no difference of BMD, white blood cell, liver function, and cardiac function was observed between the two groups. Conclusion Compared with radioiodine treatment, long-term small dose of methimazole treatment is safe for patients with recurrent hyperthyroidism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: MicroRNAs (miRNA) are a class of small, highly conserved noncoding RNA molecules, which contain 18-28 nucleotides and are involved in the regulation of gene expression. It has been proved that microRNAs play a very important role in several key cellular processes, such as cell differentiation, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis, as well as in autoimmune disease. One recently identified miRNA, miR-708-5p, has been demonstrated to have profound roles in suppressing oncogenesis in different types of tumors. However, the role of miR-708-5p in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remains to be fully elucidated. Therefore, in this study, we are aiming to identify the role of miR-708-5p in RA., Methods: The expression level of miR-708-5p in synovial tissues of patients with RA is much lower than in non-RA controls. The effects of miR-708-5p on cell apoptosis, colony formation, and migration in fibroblast-like synoviocytes were assessed in MH7A cells., Results: Results showed that delivery of miR-708-5p mimics into synovial fibroblasts MH7A could induce cell apoptosis and inhibit colony formation and migration. In addition, miR-708-5p mimics significantly inhibit Wnt3a/β-catenin pathway activity both in transcription and protein level, which could be reversed by the addition of R-spondin 1, an activator of Wnt pathway. R-spondin 1 could also reverse the inhibition of cell survival and proliferation, which was induced by miR-708-5p mimics in MH7A. Moreover, injection of miR-708-5p mimics into collagen-induced rat RA model could ameliorate the RA index and decrease Wnt3a/β-catenin expression in rat joint tissues., Conclusion: Therefore, we concluded that miR-708-5p is likely to be involved in RA pathogenesis via inhibition of Wnt3a/β-catenin pathway., Competing Interests: Disclosure The authors report no conflicts of interest in this work.
