Photovoltaic cells are intricate systems that transform solar energy into electrical power. Certain internal parameters, such as diode saturation current, conversion resistance, and series resistance, significantly influence the performance of electrical components. Frequently, manufacturers do not provide these parameters. At the moment, researchers need new and clear ways to measure these factors so they can get a better idea of how solar cells work and improve efficiency through simulations. We present a novel approach to accurately determining the five parameters (series resistance, shunt resistance, photovoltaic cell current, and diode saturation current) for multi-crystalline silicon solar cell models. This approach employs the Lambert function and the curve of parasitic resistance. By utilizing the extracted internal electrical parameters, this method will enhance the efficiency of solar cells through the facilitation of more accurate simulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we will size an optimum hybrid central content three different generators, two on renewable energy (solar photovoltaic and wind power) and two nonrenewable (diesel generator and storage system) because the new central generator has started to consider the green power technology in order for best future to the world, this central will use all the green power resource available and distributes energy to a small isolated village in southwest of Algeria named “Timiaouine”. The consumption of this village estimated with detailed in two season; season low consumption (winter) and high consumption (summer), the hybrid central will be optimized by program Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable (HOMER PRO), this program will simulate in two configuration, the first with storage system, the second without storage system and in the end the program HOMER PRO will choose the best configuration which is the mixture of both economic and ecologic configurations, this central warrants the energetic continuity of village. Today, greenhouse gas emissions and climate change stemming from the usage of fossil fuels are significant worldwide issues. Renewable energy, such as solar energy, is an environmentally friendly and non-polluting option. However, there are numerous worries regarding the possible influence of renewable energy integration on power system stability. Therefore, research is required to investigate and assess this effect. This study analyzes and investigates the impact of photovoltaic (PV) power plants installed in the kaberten region (Southwest of Algeria) on the power system's transient stability. The obtained results proved that the photovoltaic power plant positively affects the system's stability. In addition, it provides clean energy and reduces reliance on traditional sources. A frequency-decoupling-based power split was used in this study to manage a direct-current microgrid (DC-MG)-based PV and hybridized energy storage system (HESS), which consisted of a battery and a supercapacitor. The HESS control integrated a dual-loop structure for bus voltage regulation and recovery and HESS charge/discharge control. Hysteresis current control (HCC) tracked the supercapacitor setpoint current using low-pass filtering (LPF) control. The system reliability was assessed using pulsing, smooth, and disturbed PV and load waveforms with standard and advanced LPF methods. The Matlab simulation results confirmed a superior HESS control performance under varying resource waveforms. Key performance indexes (KPIs) were used to evaluate the bus voltage, HESS current management, loading efficiency, and loading mismatch. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents the discussion on the knowledge of implications of incorporating a solar PV system. Topics include distribution systems increasing voltage level and voltage profile while decreasing voltage drop and grid losses; green revolution making a concerted effort for promoting renewable energy (REn) and energy efficiency; and transient stability being defined as the ability of the power system for maintaining synchronism.

In order to reduce the electric consumption for high intensity discharge lamps, the use of high frequencies electronic ballasts represents both a solution and many advantages such as the decrease in the congestion and low costs. However, high frequency operation is not regarded as perfectly reliable due to the appearance of acoustic resonances inside the arc tube, which can result in low frequency light flicker and even lamp destruction. Therefore a predictive model was established in order to give us at which frequencies light flicker can be expected. Moreover, we conducted an experimental study, which allows the electrical detection of frequency regions, in which the discharge arc behaves instable. Furthermore, an optical system is incorporated to record images of the discharge arc during stable and instable operating conditions. The results enable a considerably better understanding of the flicker phenomenon in HID lamps and facilitate the development of energy efficient drivers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this work is to define and to implement a simple method to assess the impacts of relative humidity and operating time on the fuel cell impedance. The method is based on the physical model of Randles with CPE and a mathematical tool for identifying various parameters based on the least squares method. The objective of the theoretical model development is the model implementation of the control system and water management of predictive diagnostics. Artificial neural networks are used to create the optimum impedance model. The model is applied for the identification of all resistors (internal resistors measured at high frequency, biasing resistors measured at high frequency) which are characterized by a high sensitivity for both cases, the flooding or drying of the cell heart (membrane and electrodes). This model is able to easily generate Nyquist diagram for any condition of relative humidity and operating time, it helped define the stack hydration status. Based on the obtained results, the model demonstrated a best flexible response, accurate and fast. The developed model can be integrated into a water management control system in PEM fuel cells.
