Energy transfer has been proven to be an effective method to optimize optoelectronic conversion efficiency by improving light absorption and mitigating nonradiative losses. We prepared 2D/3D CsPbBr3 hybrid assemblies at different reaction temperatures using the hot injection method and found that the photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) of these hybrids were greatly enhanced from 53.4% to 72.57% compared with 3D nanocrystals (NCs). Femtosecond transient absorption measurements were used to study the PLQY enhancement mechanisms, and it was found that the hot carrier lifetime improved from 0.36 to 1.88 ps for 2D/3D CsPbBr3 hybrid assemblies owing to the energy transfer from 2D nanoplates to 3D NCs. The energy transfer benefits the excited carrier accumulation and prolonged hot carrier lifetime in 3D NCs in hybrid assemblies, as well as PLQY enhancement in materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been proved to be a good candidate in photodetectors, and MoS2/graphene (MoS2/G) heterostructure has been widely used to expand the optical response wavelength of MoS2. To clarify the carrier transfer dynamics in the MoS2/G heterostructure, time-resolved transient absorption and two-color pump–probe measurements are performed. By comparing the carrier dynamics in MoS2 and MoS2/G under different pump wavelengths, we find that interfacial excitons are formed in the heterostructure, and fast hot carriers transfer (<200 fs) from graphene to MoS2 are observed. The results indicate that the formed heterostructure with graphene can not only expand the optical response wavelength of MoS2 but also improve the response time of the device in the near-infrared region. 2D hybrid perovskites have emerged as a promising alternative material to address the environmental stability and the ion‐migration of the 3D perovskites for direct X‐ray detector applications. Nevertheless, the X‐ray detection performance of the 2D hybrid perovskites still lags because of its low X‐ray attenuation ability and limited solubility for thick film deposition. Here, a high‐performance X‐ray detector in Dion‐Jacobson 2D hybrid perovskite, 2(aminomethyl) pyridinium lead bromide (2AMPPbBr4), is studied. 2AMPPbBr4 exhibits an ultra‐short interlayer distance of 3.43 Å, leading to high X‐ray attenuation ability. Furthermore, DFT results indicate that 2AMPPbBr4 exhibits type II band alignment between 2AMP2+ ligand and the [PbI6]4− layers, facilitating effective spatial separation of photo‐generated carriers. The X‐ray detector made of 2AMPPbBr4 with an average thickness of 200 µm is realized via an improved drop‐casting method. An improved X‐ray sensitivity of 3933.88 µC Gy−1 cm−2 and a low detection limit of 4.17 nGy s−1 is achieved. In semiconductor‐based microlasers, the generated excited carriers can affect both the optical absorption coefficient and refractive index, influencing the lasing behavior and device performance. In this study, the lasing behavior of individual MAPbBr3 microrods pumped by femtosecond laser pulses is investigated using an ultrafast optical Kerr gating technique. By analyzing the spectral and temporal evolution of the lasing behavior, it is found that the band‐filling (BF) effect can cause a significant change in the refractive index of the material, which results in an unfavorable red‐shift and broadening of the resonant modes, deteriorating the laser linewidth and quality factor. The hot carrier cooling process can provide a buffer for alteration of the energy level occupation state, resulting in a small transient refractive index change and slight red‐shift. These results offer insights into the lasing behavior driven by photogenerated carrier dynamics and provide an optimization strategy for semiconductor‐based microlasers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nonlinear optical limiting (OL) properties of carboxyl-functionalized Ti3C2 nanosheets (COOH-MXene) were studied using the nanosecond laser Z-scan technology. COOH-MXene showed excellent broadband OL properties with OL thresholds of 0.34 J/cm2 at 532 nm and 0.58 J/cm2 at 1064 nm, and the OL mechanism was mainly attributed to the reverse saturable absorption effect. Femtosecond time-resolved transient absorption measurements were used to clarify the ultrafast carrier dynamics in the OL process, and the results revealed that excited states absorption (ESA) in MXene was enhanced by introducing more carboxyl group terminations. When COOH-MXene was irradiated by laser pulses, excited electrons in the conduction band of MXene could transfer to the carboxyl groups and induce the ESA in the surface functional groups, resulting in the excellent OL property of COOH-MXene. Liquid metal (LM) is widely used in flexible electronic devices due to its excellent metallic conductivity and ductility. However, the fabrication of LM flexible strain sensors with high sensitivity and linearity is still a huge challenge, since the resistance of LM does not change much with strain. Here, a highly sensitive and linear fully flexible strain sensor with a resistive sensing function is proposed. The sensor comprises an Fe-doped liquid metal (Fe-LM) electrode for enhanced performance. The design and manufacturing of flexible strain sensors are based on the technology of controlling surface wettability by femtosecond laser micro/nano-processing. A supermetalphobic microstructure is constructed on a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate to achieve the selection adhesion of Fe-LM on the PDMS substrate. The Fe-LM-based flexible strain sensor has high sensitivity and linearity, a gauge factor (GF) up to 1.18 in the strain range of 0–100%, excellent linearity with an R2 of 0.9978, a fast response time of 358 ms, and an excellent durability of more than 2400 load cycles. Spectral–polarization imaging technology plays a crucial role in remote sensing detection, enhancing target identification and tracking capabilities by capturing both spectral and polarization information reflected from object surfaces. However, the acquisition of multi-dimensional data often leads to extensive datasets that necessitate comprehensive analysis, thereby impeding the convenience and efficiency of remote sensing detection. To address this challenge, we propose a fusion algorithm based on spectral–polarization characteristics, incorporating principal component analysis (PCA) and energy weighting. This algorithm effectively consolidates multi-dimensional features within the scene into a single image, enhancing object details and enriching edge features. The robustness and universality of our proposed algorithm are demonstrated through experimentally obtained datasets and verified with publicly available datasets. Additionally, to meet the requirements of remote sensing tracking, we meticulously designed a pseudo-color mapping scheme consistent with human vision. This scheme maps polarization degree to color saturation, polarization angle to hue, and the fused image to intensity, resulting in a visual display aligned with human visual perception. We also discuss the application of this technique in processing data generated by the Channel-modulated static birefringent Fourier transform imaging spectropolarimeter (CSBFTIS). Experimental results demonstrate a significant enhancement in the information entropy and average gradient of the fused image compared to the optimal image before fusion, achieving maximum increases of 88% and 94%, respectively. Controlled sequential crystallization of donors and acceptors is a critical factor for achieving enhanced phase separation and efficient charge transfer performance in polymer solar cells (PSCs). In this study, a comprehensive investigation of a structurally simple solvent additive, 1‐fluoro‐2‐iodobenzene (OFIB) is conducted, which efficiently controls the morphology of the active layer, resulting in fibrous assembly and significantly enhancing the power conversion efficiency from 16.34% to 18.38% based on the PM6:L8‐BO system. Density functional theory, molecular dynamics simulations, and grazing incidence small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering techniques reveal that the addition of OFIB to the processed blend aligns the orientation of the acceptor molecules, thereby enhancing the overall π–π stacking in the active layer. OFIB establishes nearly equal‐strength π–π interactions with the conjugated frameworks of both the donor and acceptor materials, benefiting from the multiple electron conjugation between its iodine atom and the conjugated framework in the active layer. Femtosecond‐timescale photophysical studies demonstrate that the OFIB‐optimized active layer shows reduced exciton losses at the donor–acceptor interface. This study offers a new perspective on the mechanism underlying the function of solvent additives and presents a comprehensive research methodology that will guide the development of next‐generation non‐fullerene acceptors for efficient PSCs. Efficient selective extraction of semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (s-SWCNTs) from as-synthesized SWCNTs is essential for their electronic and photovoltaic applications. In this study, we used a relatively simple copolymer backbone structure of poly[(9,9-dioctylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-co-thiophene] (PFT) for the selective extraction of s-SWCNTs from HiPCO SWCNTs. The absorption and Raman spectroscopies indicated that the PFT-sorted s-SWCNTs had high purity which was far beyond the sensitivity of the spectrometers. Photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy showed that PFT mainly extracted the chiralities of (n,m)=(9,5), (8,6), (7,5), and (10,5) s-SWCNTs with the ratios of about 53.1%, 24.8%, 11.5%, and 10.5%, respectively. Both steady-state and transient optical spectroscopies suggested that there was a strong interaction between PFT and s-SWCNTs. Molecular dynamics simulation results agreed well with the experimental data. Additionally, the photoinduced energy transfer behavior of the PFT-wrapped s-SWCNT resultant hybrid was assessed. This work indicated that the prepared PFT-wrapped s-SWCNT hybrid material was attractive for organic photovoltaic devices.
