The addition of preventive healthcare programs to nationwide specific health guidance in Japan is adapted in a given region.Patients and Methods: We conducted a prospective parallel-group comparison study on 195 eligible residents from Takahata, Japan, with a high risk of lifestyle-related diseases from 2014 to 2017 to examine whether such an intervention could improve the body mass index (BMI) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).Results: Of the 195 enrolled residents, 117 were assigned to the control group and 78 to the intervention group. They were ≤ 65 years old and had a BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2 and an eGFR ≤ 90 mL/kg/1.73 m2. We conducted certain interventions for each group, including additional blood testing, regular health guidance, and specific health guidance. After one year, neither BMI (intervention: 26.7 ± 2.17 kg/m2 vs control: 27.3 ± 2.12 kg/m2, p = 0.076) nor eGFR (intervention: 72.2 ± 11.1 mL/kg/1.73 m2 vs control: 73.1 ± 10.5 mL/kg/1.73 m2, p = 0.608) differed significantly between groups. However, after three years, the BMI in the intervention group (26.4 ± 2.05 kg/m2) was significantly reduced compared to that in the control group (27.4 ± 2.26 kg/m2; p = 0.005).Conclusion: The additional interventions might have contributed to a reduction in metabolic syndrome.Trial Registration: This study was registered in the UMIN-Clinical Trials Registry (ID:000013581). One of the important issues on the GPS‐acoustic (GPS‐A) observation for sea bottom positioning is how to address the horizontal heterogeneity of the sound speed in oceans. This study presents an analysis method of GPS‐A data in the presence of a sloping sound speed structure. By applying this method and revising the analysis scheme to make full use of existing data, we reevaluated the horizontal postseismic deformations occurring ~1.5–5 years after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake. The revised horizontal movements have more uniform directions and rates between neighboring sites, suggesting enhancement of the array positioning accuracy. The revised displacement rate of the site on the incoming Pacific plate, located ~100 km northeast of the main rupture zone, was decreased significantly; it was only slightly, by 1.4 cm/year larger than the global motion of the Pacific plate, suggesting a relatively small effect of viscoelastic relaxation. The horizontal movements of the near‐trench sites above the main rupture zone were generally landward and were significantly faster than the Pacific plate motion, indicating a viscoelastic relaxation of 5–10 cm/year. The distribution of the fast landward movements peaked near 38°N at an updip of the mainshock hypocenter and extended significantly farther to the north than to the south. This implies the existence of a secondary coseismic slip patch in the northern area in addition to a primary slip patch at ~38°N. The occurrence of episodic slow slip in early 2015 to the north of the main rupture zone was also verified from the GPS‐A analyses. In Japan, the working group for the Mars Exploration Aircraft continues to research and develop a Mars aircraft aiming to a future survey mission. To ensure the success of the flight mission, a self-localisation system with low-computational complexity is necessary. In the present research, a new self-localisation method is proposed using multispectral images. The algorithm is based on the simple mapping of image moment invariants and gradients calculated from several images at different wavelengths. The numerical simulations revealed the sufficient robustness of the proposed method to image noise. The estimation accuracy can be improved by increasing the number of the spectral images.
