Abstract

We compare predictions of nCTEQ15 nuclear parton distribution functions with proton-lead vector boson production data from the LHC. We select data sets that are most sensitive to nuclear PDFs and have potential to constrain them. We identify the kinematic regions and flavors where these data can bring new information and will have largest impact on the nuclear PDFs. Abstract

We compute the structure functions F2 and FL in the ACOT scheme for heavy quark production. We use the complete ACOT results to NLO, and make use of the MS massless results at NNLO and N³LO to estimate the higher order mass-dependent corrections. We show numerically that the dominant heavy quark mass effects can be taken into account using mass-less Wilson coefficients together with an appropriate rescaling prescription. Combining the exact NLO ACOT scheme with these expressions should provide a good approximation to the full calculation in the ACOT scheme at NNLO and N³LO. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: We present the full one-loop corrections to charged and CP-even neutral Higgs boson decays into sfermions including also the crossed channels. The calculation was carried out in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model and we use the on-shell renormalization scheme. For the down-type sfermions, we use running fermion masses and the trilinear coupling as input. Furthermore, we present the first numerical analysis for decays according to the Supersymmetric Parameter Analysis project. This requires the renormalization of the whole MSSM. The corrections are found to be numerically stable and not negligible. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract

We have calculated the complete one-loop corrections to the sfermion pair production process e+e-→&ftilde;i&ftilde;j (f=t,b,τ,ντ) in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our results also include the previously calculated SUSY-QCD corrections. We present the details of the renormalization scheme used. It is found that the weak corrections are of the same magnitude as the SUSY-QCD corrections at higher energies (√ of s∼1 TeV). At these energies an important part of the weak corrections stems from the box contribution. This is best seen in sneutrino production. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

21. Modification of Quark-Gluon Distributions in Nuclei by Correlated Nucleon Pairs.

Abstract

We extend the QCD Parton Model analysis using a factorized nuclear structure model incorporating individual nucleons and pairs of correlated nucleons. Our analysis of high-energy data from lepton deep-inelastic scattering, Drell-Yan, and W and Z boson production simultaneously extracts the universal effective distribution of quarks and gluons inside correlated nucleon pairs, and their nucleus-specific fractions. Such successful extraction of these universal distributions marks a significant advance in our understanding of nuclear structure properties connecting nucleon- and parton-level quantities.

Abstract

Autoerotic paraphilic manipulations may be not only incredibly unusual but also hazardous and possibly fatal. Autoerotic experimenters sometimes combine several paraphilic mechanisms, both potentially lethal and non-lethal. A tragic outcome is usually a direct consequence of the life-threatening paraphilic mechanism(s); however, it may also result from an accidental complication arising from the constellation of the paraphilic realization. In this report, we present a case of an autoerotic death of a 30-year-old man who applied two potentially lethal paraphilic mechanisms-body wrapping and foreign body anal insertion-together with two other non-lethal paraphilic activities, autofetishism and transvestitism. However, the man's death ultimately occurred due to another associated autoerotic activity-stimulation of the lower abdomen with an electric massager, which accidentally short-circuited and caused fatal electrocution. 23. Nuclear corrections in neutrino-nucleus deep inelastic scattering and their compatibility with global nuclear parton-distribution-function analyses.

Abstract

We perform a global χ² analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions using data from charged current neutrino-nucleus (νA) deep-inelastic scattering (DIS), charged-lepton-nucleus (ℓ(±)A) DIS, and the Drell-Yan (DY) process. We show that the nuclear corrections in νA DIS are not compatible with the predictions derived from ℓ(±)A DIS and DY data. We quantify this result using a hypothesis-testing criterion based on the χ² distribution which we apply to the total χ² as well as to the χ² of the individual data sets. We find that it is not possible to accommodate the data from νA and ℓ(±)A DIS by an acceptable combined fit. Our result has strong implications for the extraction of both nuclear and proton parton distribution functions using combined neutrino and charged-lepton data sets.
